So I just was in a kindergarten class were they read the book Red: A Crayon's Story by Michael Hall. I swear it took everything I had to not cry. As someone who is neurodivergent and trans, I kept seeing myself in the crayon. The other crayons kept trying to make the blue crayon someone they are not, just because they had the label of red. Everyone in their life thought they were a failure because of something they couldn't control. But the second they realized they were actually blue, they started drawing blue things which made everything easier. Like, turns out if you use their strengths instead of their weaknesses they do better! Who'da thunk! I got so emotional over that little book but it just hit me sooooo hard.
