what's in guy's workbag that he asked honey to get for him in the very first audio. I included various hcs and references in it!
explanations and closeups below:
Bag
Tumblr media
Monster energy : he has to get all that energy from Somewhere. I see him as the type to not enjoy drinking water either.
HBS wristband : it's the wristband from the concert he and Honey attended during HBS '23.
Live, Laugh, Lactate : obscene patch that he puts there solely because Honey hates it
Musical pins : pins of Hamilton and Rent, two musicals that I think Guy would enjoy.
Embroidered logo : I like to think that honey did that for fun.
Yosemite National Park pin : reference to the fact that Dahlia's in California
Misc. Pop Culture Pins : Carmen sandiego (" Are you a titular character from the game Where in Time is Carmen Sandiego because Ivan Idea."), Junji Ito + Cardcaptor Sakura + Percy Jackson (I brainstormed with @joshusten on what media Guy would enjoy and I wholeheartedly agree with their suggestions <3 love u sten) , D-20 dungeon master pin (Guy definitely is one)
Items
Tumblr media
Keys + carabiner : keys to his and Honey's apartment
Chocolate : Reference to his first audio where he took chocolate home from work because apparently Honey is a chocolate fiend.
Phone : the bee charm is a gift from Honey, they have a matching pizza one. He drops his phone a lot hence the screen smashed to smithereens.
Draft Book : As a writer he needs to jot down ideas quickly so he needs a notebook at hand. Stickers are from DFF, Dahlia Film Festival, that he attended as a scriptwriter of a short film, and University of Dahlia's Creative Writing and Literature Society, that he was a part of back in college.

Some of my current EBAY Auctions
Hi everybody! Hope you're staying warm as the holiday season arrives. As many of you know, I've been dealing with some incredibly difficult hardships over the last few months and one thing I've been doing to help alleviate it and help make rent and bills is selling my collection of toys and other things on Ebay. I currently have several dozen auctions listed, and here are a few highlights you might be interested in:
I'm letting go of the last part of my MONSTER IN MY POCKET collection, and that means a collected lot of the giant MONSTER MOUNTAIN with its original box, a complete 48-figure Series 1 collection AND the Nintendo NES video game, complete with its original box, manual and exclusive monster!
A sorta-still-sealed 1990 WWF outdoor activity pack, with frisbee, yo-yo, kites and more! I have a DISNEY edition of one of these up for auction now as well!
A large lot of childrens books based on the Masters of the Universe series! Golden Books, coloring books and more!
My huge Batman and DC merchandise collection. TONS of BATMAN 1989 items, many still sealed, as well as the later '90s films and other DC toys and items!
A collection of 16 Imaginext dinosaurs and dragons! I've tested all of them and most work! A great lot for the young dino fan in your house!
Over 40 Cartoon TV Show DVD sets, many of them out of print and going for top dollar these days. The starting price and even the Buy It Now are many hundred dollars less than the total of these on Amazon.
My DRAGONS KNIGHTS & DAGGERS collection, with several of the durable rubber beasts, tons of weapons and chariots - perfect for the He-Man collector in your life!
A great lot of sealed DC Comics' greatest superheroine action figures! Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl and more!
7 modern MEGO-style figures, sold together to help you kick-start that collection you've wanted to start!
My beloved collection of JACK KIRBY #1s from DC has to go. Sandman, Kamandi, OMAC and Demon #1s plus more!
Thanks for checking these out! And if you'd like to help me out but don't see anything among my auctions of interest, please consider donating to my GoFundMe. Thank you again, have a wonderful holiday!!!

— Afterthought [16+]
↝ One of the best neurosurgeons in New York City; Doctor Stephen Strange, had a major car accident. Who will be with him and stay with him during a hard time? Of course, it’s you, but the real question is, how long will you stay?
— By The Book [18+]
↝ Stephen gives you the loving you so greatly missed and the loving you so well-deserved, in the best way he can. The Stephen Strange way; by following what's in the book.
— Candies & Stickers [16+]
↝ In one of the many multiversal travels with America Chavez and you, Stephen finds himself in another universe and meets a version of himself. A meeting he didn’t quite expect.
— Heart's Day [18+]
↝ It's not about the missed Valentine's date, Stephen. Dr Strange apologizes to you for his lack of regard to his safety, and you'll only accept his apology by riding out the words from his pretty lips.
— Hot & Bothered [18+]
↝ The temperature was burning high, and so was your desire for Stephen. Too bad he was a tad busy to give in to your needs.
— In Frame [18+]
↝ They said happy memories should be celebrated with a smile, and should be captured or recorded. You thought as it is your birthday, that you should record your happiest memories made in your bed, and Dr Strange was all too happy to indulge you.
— Karaoke Night [16+]
↝ The sorcerer supreme, the master of the mystic arts, and the disciple walk in to a karaoke bar on a Saturday night, fun ensues.
— Midnight Love [18+]
↝ You’ve just had enough. It’s been two years of the same thing and you want something to change, you want him and only him, you want to finally love him and him to love you.
— Stuck [18+]
↝ As a doctor, he knows the science behind it. In some cases, men do really get stuck during intercourse. Penis captivus; the words floated through his head.
— Sweet November [multi-chapter] [18+]
↝ "One month." Stephen said, his gaze intense. He raised his hand, offered it for you to shake. "One month." you agreed and shook his hand. The sign of a closed deal. Then he smiled at you, and from that instant, you realized, you just broke rule number one; no falling in love.
— What We Once Had [three part piece] [18+]
Part 1 | Part 2 (coming soon) | Part 3 (coming soon)
↝ In the years spent together studying and struggling with the challenges of med school, you slowly noticed, learned, and got to know the real Stephen Strange. That was until everything you learned, became what you once knew, and what the two of you once had.

Fluff Prompt: Little Raph teaching Little Leo or Donnie how to play basket ball or skateboard and just failing at it so bad but trying really hard to be the cool and smart big bro anyway
This was such a fun prompt, thanks. Here you go with a little cameo at the end
******
"OK… so… and then you have to… Uhm, just like- ACK!"
"Raphie! Are you okay?"
Little Mikey kneels down next to his big brother, who is rubbing his backside and valiantly keeping the tears at bay. Stupid skateboard rolled right out from under him. Again.
"I'm okay." Raph sniffles and slowly gets back to his feet. Leo had run after the escapee skateboard and is now holding it out to Raph.
"Maybe we should ask dad to show us how it works?"
"No." Dad has some Sad Days right now. Raph would rather not bother him with this. But he also doesn't want to wait for the Good Days. They had all been so excited to find the skateboard in the trash. Only one of its tires had been messed up and Donnie had been able to fashion a replacement out of an office chair. They have seen a lot of skateboarders on TV and Raph had thought that that was enough to teach himself and then his brothers. But it's so much harder than it looks on TV.
Leo hugs himself and looks towards Donnie who is much more interested in the mechanics of the jungle gym right now. Their genius brother had been the most reluctant to try the board, but Raph had seen the joy on his face when he'd rolled a few feet. Too bad he'd fallen off right after and now refuses to get back on again. Which has made Leo wary to try in turn, because he often takes his cue from his twin. Raph is sure that, if he can show them how it works and that there is nothing to be afraid of, they will try again.
If only he could stop falling off.
Mikey points towards the sky, which has lightened considerably since they started practicing. "The stars go away."
Raph rubs his little head. "Good job keeping watch, Mikey. Let's go home for today, before the sun comes up." They are all bundled up, only their faces visible, and the skatepark will probably remain empty for a long time yet, but Raph doesn't want to risk anyone seeing them. If their dad knew they were out here he would kill them.
Leo runs to get Donnie and Raph tucks the board under one arm so he can take Mikey's hand. They go home, but Raph just can't stop thinking about the board pressed to his side and Donnie's grin when he'd rolled those precious few feet.
Donnie can so very rarely be pulled away from his little projects and books but that smile had been real and true. Skateboarding could have been something they all could have enjoyed together for once.
Raph wants nothing more than to give this to his brothers.
Which is why he, against his better judgment, comes back to the skatepark after he puts his brothers to bed. The sun is already rising and he'll probably only have another half an hour before it gets way too dangerous to be out here, but he wants to master this stupid skateboard. How hard could it be?
Very hard apparently. He can't even count how many times he's fallen in the last five minutes.
Maybe it's hopeless. Maybe he's hopeless.
After a particularly nasty fall a voice calls out.
"Hey kid. You need to keep your knees bent when you push off."
Raph jumps to his feet. There is a man standing a few feet away, a skateboard covered in stickers losely held in his hands. He is wearing a cap, pulled deep into his face. Even though he is smiling and sounds nice enough Raph feels terror seize his heart. Dad has always told him that no humans can ever see them. Humans are dangerous. Humans hurt the things they don't understand.
He takes a few steps back, but he is shaking and he is scared that if he runs the man will follow him and then he will find his brothers too and then he might hurt them and then and then and then
The man must have seen the fear in his face, because he puts the board down and raises his hands in the universal 'I mean no harm' pose. "Hey hey hey. Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you."
Raph can see the guy do a double take when he gets a good look at his face and blurts out the first thing he can think of "It's a skin condition!"
The man blinks a few times and then smirks a little sheepishly, as if embarrassed to have been caught staring. "Ah. Okay. Sorry again." Under his breath he mutters something that sounds like 'This is New York. Not the strangest thing I've seen'. He then slowly rolls closer on his board. Even though Raph is still a bit scared and very watchful, he can't help but notice how smooth the guy's movements are. "Really didn't mean to scare you. I've just seen you fall and thought you might like some pointers."
Raph knows he should decline and get out of there. Stranger danger is a thing, he knows that. But something about the man makes him feel like he can trust him.
He keeps his distance though and the man notices and doesn't come closer.
"Pointers?"
"Yeah. You gotta keep your knees bent a little when you push off. Like this." He demonstrates and after a brief internal struggle, Raph copies him, always keeping one eye on the human. He immediately notices that it is a lot easier with bent knees. He's still wobbly, but he doesn't fall off.
"Wow!"
"There you go."
He gives Raph some more pointers about balance and how a board acts in certain situations. The entire time he keeps his distance and doesn't try to come closer than Raph is comfortable with. Raph is more and more convinced that this is a good guy. But then they start to hear voices coming their way from the entrance of the park and the turtle knows that he really needs to go now. He's already taken way too many risks today, even if they really paid off. Raph swears to himself to never tell anyone about this. He doesn't want his dad to punish him for his recklessness or his brothers to think that it's okay to talk to strangers.
"I need to go. Thanks again, Mister."
"No problem, little guy."
Raph starts to run home. He can't wait to show his brothers what he has learned. But then he turns around one last time, because there has been something on his mind this whole time.
"Mister. You look a lot like Tony Hawk. Has anyone ever told you?"
The man laughs, loud and long. Raph is a little confused about what is so funny about his question, but the voices are coming closer still and so he leaves before he can hear the answer of the middle aged skateboarder he leaves behind.
"Once or twice, kid. Once or twice."

Hey all! Welcome to my humble corner of tumblr. I’ve been absent for a while, but I’m looking to find a penpal again!
🍀about me🍀
-my name is Dani
-I’m 23 (about to be 24!)
-I use she/her pronouns
-I’m from southwestern America
-I’m currently getting my master’s in library sciences, with the hopes of being either a middle school librarian or working in a university! I’m also working to get my teaching license.
-my favorite books include: the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo, anything by Ashley Herring Blake, Percy Jackson, and the Nevermoor series. However, I will read ANYTHING. I just love books.
-my favorite movies include anything studio Ghibli, Little Women, and any early 2000’s rom com.
-as for music, I’m strictly a Taylor swift, Hozier, and Noah Kahan girlie. (I listen to other people like boy genius and Ricky Montgomery BUT I have a brand)
-other than that, I enjoy crocheting, scrapbooking, traveling, watching documentaries with my partner, doing puzzles, baking/cooking, and playing cozy video games. My life is crazy busy, but I really enjoy the slow moments I try to find! My parents and friends have called me granny since I was young. I’ve always been like this :D
-I’ve had a few penpals, but kind of drifted off when I was graduating college and my life got a bit crazy. Things are slowing down for me so I want to start back up. I love sending small tokens with letters. Maybe a sticker or two, a pressed flower, a recipe, tea, things like that!
🍀looking for🍀
-someone within the same range as me! Preferably 21+
-similar interests, but we don’t have to be exactly the same!
-for now, I think I’d like to stick to penpals within the USA, but if we think we’d be a good match, I’m open to international!
-I’m open to sharing socials or keeping some mystery behind the letters and getting to know each other through our writing only!

And that’s the episode split.  That, uh, was pretty quick after today’s liveblog started, I probably should have kept going yesterday.
The patron who picked this show told me before I started this episode that it was their favorite, and I can see why.  I’m drawn in.  I’ve got strong opinions about books and the freedom to read (as you can probably tell) and this episode is tying into those nicely.  It’s also kind of appropriate to do this episode now, considering what’s been happening in America lately.
That’ll be the liveblog for today--up next is going to be episode 1 of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts!  I’ve heard that one’s pretty good, so tune in for the start of that tomorrow at noon EST.  Or you can join me in 45 minutes at my Twitch channel where I’ll be continuing Resident Evil 4 Remake!  I’ll see you there!
Before I go, I’d like to plug both my blog’s Patreon and my Twitch/Youtube Patreon. I make my living off of Patreon, and while I make enough to cover rent and bills, I don’t make a ton of money from it and haven’t been able to save anything up.  Every dollar helps, so if you’re willing, please consider pledging a dollar or two.
Thank you all for tuning in, and thank you to my 46 blog patrons, who make it so I can do this for a living!  I’ll see you later!
IN OTHER NEWS:
I recently completed my first playthrough of Undertale!  You can see the full playlist of those streams by clicking here!
I have an ongoing first playthrough of Final Fantasy XIV that I’ve been streaming on Twitch! If you’d like to tune in when I’m live, I stream it every Saturday at 1 PM EST, and I upload my stream VODs to my Youtube channel!  If you’d like to see that playlist, click here!
If you’d like to help me pay my rent, buy me some food, or help with my bills and medicine, please use my direct donation link!  If you’d like to support me per liveblog completed every month, please pledge to my Patreon!  If you’d like to support my streams or pick a game for me to stream, you can pledge to my stream Patreon too!
You should also go pledge to Gio’s Patreon, or his Sponsus–our Discord server maintenance tech and creator of Rubybot deserves far more than I can afford to pledge to him by myself.
If you’d like more of me and my content:
My Episode Lists master page, where you can find every show and liveblog I’ve done!
My Discord server, where you can come hang out with me and other fans, check out member liveblogs, and join community gaming guilds!
My Twitch channel, where I stream variety games every so often!
My Youtube channel, where you can check out past streams!
My ask blog, where you can send me questions and comments!
My Twitter, where I make announcements about liveblogs and streams!
My merch store, where you can get shirts, mugs, stickers, and more!
It’s your kindness and support that lets me do this stuff, and I wouldn’t be where I am without all of you to do it for.  Thank you all so much for your support, and for tuning in every episode!
OTHER PEOPLE YOU MAY ENJOY:
I may have been one of the earlier Steven Universe liveblogs, but a whole community of livebloggers has sprung up over the last six years!   I linked to a bunch individually for a few wrap-ups, but honestly, this end-slate is already eight billion miles long, so I’m just gonna link to my links page.  Click here if you want recommendations of other livebloggers, or other neat people, or webcomics and podcasts that I recommend.

so uh........ how boned he gonna be without the slate
Thankfully, it was returned to him upon the game starting. But without the Sheikah Slate, Link couldn't really do much at all.
Decided to put the breakdown under a cut because it got SUUUPER long.
The game relies on the Sheikah Slate for, like, 90% of the gameplay. It's the map, it's fast travel, it unlocks the Shrines, it controls the Divine Beasts, the runes are housed in the Sheikah Slate, etc. Also, while we interpret inventory as being contained in a magic bag, the actual interface in-game seems to imply that the Sheikah Slate is being used for everything Link's not actively holding, too.
How I determined this is through the Adventure Log. In different languages, the Adventure Log is written from Link's point of view. It's his journal. And if it's his journal, that means it exists in game. So where are these entries if he doesn't have a book or something to write them in? The Sheikah Slate. It already records photos, so why not text, too? And if that part of the menu is in the Sheikah Slate, it would make sense for the inventory to be stored in the Slate. Now, in our thread, that's not the case. But I could still see the Slate being used as inventory management and quick accessing things that are in the bag. It would explain why Link is able to change weapons on the fly & pull out food so fast.
That means that without the Sheikah Slate, there would be no Adventure Log, no items, no spare weapons, and no armor beside what LInk already has on.
Even if we say that these menus aren't part of the Sheikah Slate interface & therefore don't count, there's still WAY too much that the game uses it for. No Sheikah Slate means:
No map
No camera
No access to pictures/memories
No Hyrule Compendium
No sensor
No Stasis/Cryonis/Magnesis/Bombs
No Master Cycle (which the Player hasn't gotten in our RP)
No Amiibo functionality
No quest markers
No scope
No beacons or map stickers to make navigating easier or mark an important spot
No warping between shrines/towers
No activating new shrines/towers
No interacting with gyro puzzles in shrines
No activating warp gates on Divine Beasts
No controlling the different map features of Divine Beasts
No activating terminals in Divine Beasts at all
Also, you're actually able to see the Sheikah Slate hanging off Link's hip at all times, so it would be possible for the Player to notice it missing.
All it would take is seeing it missing or trying to do ONE of these things, which would probably take a couple minutes tops. At that point, the Player would realize something was very, VERY wrong with their game. Which means several things could happen next.
They could try restarting the game. Natural go-to, and what most everyone would do given a situation like this.
They could try to keep playing. Probably wouldn't get too far before getting frustrated, as the Player in our RP is a child.
They could leave it be, probably overnight, maybe for a few days, and see if the problem fixes itself.
They could try deleting any game data and re-installing. Least ideal scenario, and would result in the land of Hyrule being erased from the Switch. Native & visiting characters would have to leave ASAP or risk going into stasis/being deleted forever. (Save game data would still preserve memories & achievements of characters, but not the world. Any characters that made their way out of the game & into the wider Switch system would still be awake & aware of what happened.)
And finally... they could delete everything related to the game, save data and all. The nuclear option. Anyone wanting to survive would HAVE to leave the game. There are no backups, no extra lives, no respawns. Any characters that make it out would still be awake & aware, but are now very much homeless. (May even have to leave the Switch entirely to avoid their data being dumped - I would have to think on the logistics longer. The details of how the WiR universe would work with console, handheld, & computer games gets a bit complex & confusing, but this is all for fun & up to interpretation, so there's no pressure!

I'm feeling a little better from how exhausted I got from the shopping trip so I can at least share the three books I was able to get basically is late birthday gifts
I've been trying to get into American comics and American superhero media and it's been tricky I I've had some luck with the Batman Universe with Arrow and with Lucifer and Constantine, though still mostly very little in comparison to the whole
I've been having a lot of trouble with Marvel it's just been really hard for me and part of it feels like it's because I just can't tell who's who half the time to be honest and sometimes it really trips me up that a character happens to be the same character because with Marvel it feels like where they revamp you can't recognize them sometimes or they looked like another character suddenly and you know it's been trouble and then you have all the history trying to catch up and knowing where I want to touch is hard
So with that but out of the way (along with I don't wanna watch the live actions of anything except my childhood Adam West Bat) I got two books to help me out
First I got Avengers Multiverse of Stickers
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The inside has tons of stickers and of different designs of the different characters which is a tactile basic little guide to me to give me a rough idea and stickers are cool. Plus it has pages with all the images so even if you took out every sticker it still has all the pictures which is nice.
The next "book" is actually six of them. "The Mighty World of Marvel Superheroes"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
These have history of the franchises a bit, with direct references to what pages or series, talks of merch even in other countries. It just felt like a really nice way to look through what exists and start finding spots to dive in or to reference for understanding things I see on tumblr better.
Last book is well it was on sale, I larp a lot, and I was curious and already love it. Marvel Multiverse Role-playing Game core rulebook.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is a book for both making your own heroes and playing as some canon ones in games. (Example choice picked for a friend) and it has some nice advice from what I've read so far and really fun art. The game set up makes a lot of sense though I haven't really dived into the sheets yet.
But like you don't play to level and get stronger, you play to get better at what you already have in hero abilities and better save people or ya know the villain side.
It's a fun read and I'm really excited to share this book with my usual game master and see if he'd wanna lead some games. (Also love game masters are the Narrator in this. That's perfect 👌)
Hopefully with such a nice lootdrop ill have a better time getting into Marvel : D wish they had a version of that sticker book for DC

I haven't used this fancy sketch book in ages.
Tumblr media
This was a while back but since I don't usually use stickers but I thought might as well. Serenade tore a bit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Flipped through the drawings and I wanted to try inking these--it's pretty bad so I stopped.
The second comic is a scene from a sort of spin off of the Green Knight AU but it's entirely unrelated to the original poem--it's just something else I wanted to explore in the universe I set up. Any understanding of the story of this one completely depends on the completion of some stuff of the main AU (the planned opening of the spin off builds off this one) and that just makes think AUUUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHHHHH
Tumblr media
Okay, so here's something I never talked about and nobody would pick up or honestly really care, but the Robot Masters at the back are supposed to be Astro, Magic, Burner, Ground and at the very back Dynamo.
Tumblr media
Behind Shadow are Top, Hard and to his side, Gemini.
Tumblr media
To Shadow's side in this panel, it's Spark. If you read the through the laughter, you can spot "PUNK YOU'RE THE BEST" and what's supposed to be "ENKER" (somebody is repeating Punk's punchline hence the quotations).
I know it's nothing anybody would pick up, mostly because my art is too sketchy and nobody probably can tell anyway, but I still like it. If you're wondering what's the point, it's the games or the groupings these characters are from--Mega Man & Bass, Mega Man 3, and the Mega Man Killers. I doodled them with the intention, if only in the background, to point who the important characters in this story are (King Arthur, Sir Gawain and the Narrator).
I wonder if it's clear that the whole story supposed to be from Shadow's POV. It's okay if it isn't, because I drew it so the narration is only at the start of the first page, and then it drops for the rest of the comic. The next time Shadow comes back as the Narrator, it's supposed to be a deliberate shock. That was my thinking at the time anyway.
Tumblr media
My favorite thing about this comic is still the visual gag of the Bouncy design in the bag reacting to everything. Although "Fa la la la la" got me good.

08/02/23: Wednesday finds. Finally got a chance to go fleamarket shopping. Last few weeks, I've been laying low. Todays weather was humid after a southwestern monsoon storm hit the night before. But I found goodies despite there being less sellers. First finds was bluray movies and series, seven for $15. Then I found for $5.00; two dvds, a wii game, a music cd, headphones, and an empty ps2 case. I also eventually bought from the guy that og Xbox console. When I first saw it, I wasn't feeling his $30 price. So I left it. But before leaving, I went back, and he accepted an offer for $25. The second time, I saw a custom sticker under it, and it looks like it's either refurbished or modded. So that's nice. Speaking of nice, I found for the first time in a while, cheap dollar games. Yeah, it's bottom of the barrel stuff, but I know the lady selling it, and I felt like contributing a bit of cash to her on a humidly, hot morning. So it was $16 bucks for all those sports games. Genesis, SNES, game gear, n64 and a lone Intellivision game. One of the last things found was Stranger Things season 1 series blu-ray/dvd combo for a dollar each.
After that I went to Walmart and I bought newly clearanced toys. I got some Masters of the Universe toys for $6.00 and a Shuri Wakanda Forever toy for $2.00. After that, I made it to the Salvation Army Store. And I lucked out on finding some donated kids box full of books, and inside it was some Marvel graphic novels and a zombie Book. It was $7.50 for all of them. I'm happy.

Digital Detox
When your modern daily cross is a black mirror, spending quality time away from it allows you to see the universe in full color.  Fourth of May. Cinco De Mayo. My Taurus Twin Tower’s birthdays. V’s 40th death day. C’s death anniv. All died too soon. And this Labor Day... my ina’s 40th death day. The past weeks have not been easy but, I know something really curious is coming, or perhaps, already started. Still hanging by each moment that is either a spiral or a sparkle.  What did I do the during my first-ever long leave this 2023?  -Finally had a video call with my soul sister that turned out to be a session about the inner child conversations PLUS was able to finally tell her something I’ve been meaning to reveal since we were 17 years old (Yes. I’m that “not an open book” even to those closest to me.)  -Visited ina’s grave several times without breaking down when no one’s watching and started planning her eternal home in a style that best represents her existence and her after life, too (Damn. This is not about the glam side of burial spots. It’s about carving her corner where her 70-80+ kids, grand kids and great grand kids can come together.)  -Planning the restoration of my ina and ama’s humble home and turning it into a humble ancestral home which is so surprising as this has been a really, really crazy ride; but is here and now. (Never expected that we’d be on this page; but, hyperinflation is real so, let’s proceed with caution and a consistent set of actions. Will most likely focus on curating bits and pieces of my family plus restoring photos, mostly in film.) -MatchaME’s first voyage in the hilly sides of my ina’s sleepy town, an art hub in Laguna, another sleepy town where there’s a tiny eatery I grew up loving called Beatles (This happened during my Taurus Tito’s birthday.) In fairness, this B is really a good buy after the long wait since 2015. Will talk more about this soon because it deserves its own space and pace. HINT: No vinyl stickers, no bathroom tapes, no bike skin. Laspagan szn is on na ba talaga? Abangan ang B-Rides & B-Rolls: South To North Edition, mga ka-thiccs. LOL.  -Seeing a red pimped pick up (Rar!) and a yellow butterfly during MatchaME’s first 7Eleven stop over. Cried fat tears in between chugging cold caramel mach and polvoron which again reminded me a lot of my Tito’s usual merienda in our roadtrips. The pick up was very much like my Tito’s aesthetic so it’s not about the glam car; but how it reminds me that I have to keep moving forward and that though a pick up is a dream; truth is, dreams could be demons and dragons, roaring in red, too.  -Getting my teeth cleaned and hearing (again) that I have to stop munching on ice because my teeth are in good shape for my age BUT the cracks are gonna bring them down. The dentist is a Gen X liberal-conservative lady who wants to set me up with male people because she feels I am prime for survival with a pack. Later, she realized that she’s gonna have a really tough time looking for someone I can actually date. Let’s see what happens because I already politely declined but she insisted. LOL. Mhie, house plant era na po kasi talaga ako.  -Getting a turtle named Master Splinter for Batulao garden house. :D I can no longer get another dog, so let’s go with the reptilian empire this time. Also, my inaanak Z has a pet turtle!  -H1 life audit (jusq). No further comment, your Honor.  And “so what?” and “what now” monologues.  -Managing my dad’s looming spiral without him noticing it as a sneaky shithead me (LOL). Losing a mom is really life-altering.  -Ambient noise and sound immersion. Didn’t listen to any PL and rarely watched any vids/content pieces which is so otherwordly. Ah, analog in lo-fi and hi-fi... you are liquid gold, indeed -Vitamin D dose :D (Still didn’t get caramel skin because my hair color is a blocker; but really had a good time under the morning sun plus sunsets, too) -Looking after my cousins as they face a final battle with the Big C in the family WITH specific boundaries  -More hustle, more intent, a volunteer work that’s really close to my hidden heart and soul and a new workspace ---all these are coming this week onwards. Test of maturity, patience and intent. Never easy to be honest, but, I’m really, really, really excited. There’s something about the testosterone x estrogen x progesterone high and lows that gets me going. I really need to turn the “spiral” vibes to “sparkle” vibes. The spiral is not about work to make it clear. It’s about the road to 2024 and beyond. ;) LUH.  My soul sister told me so many times that something is OFF the past weeks. Told her that, after so many struggles, I am choosing peace amidst the chaos, the noise and the non-essentials of the gods. She was taken aback and so I am. She also told me that my aura is radiating a glow. As an empath, she is amazed and still in disbelief because for the first time in forever, I might have been changed for good. Let’s see!  May the Force be with you and me!  PS: Really need to rewatch Star Wars. Road to geek na ba talaga ito? (Stereotyping na naman po tayo, so early in the morning!) Daming XY na tatawanan ako kasi mukhang kakainin ko mga bashing ko sa kanila from then until now a; but I don’t care. LOL.   PS2: Hogwarts Legacy is still on my mind, heart and soul. :D Ang mahal though ng mga gaming consoles but, I’m thinking of making content out of this. Rar. Eto na ba ‘yun? Para naman sulit ‘yung effort saka first of hanashes in life. Abangan!

a reflection of artistic pursuits #1 - 27/04/23
I’ve been meaning to talk about all the art I’ve been doing in uni for a while now, so now I’m going to do it in a big post, and hopefully this won’t be the only one!
I’ve been very fortunate to get to work with a variety of mediums since coming back to do my Masters, and even if I don’t use some of these methods in my project, I definitely don’t want to stop using them full-stop!
Back in February, we had a bookbinding workshop, in which we all made ourselves a concertina-styled book. I feel like I’ll be repeating myself quite often, but it was very fun to try something I hadn’t done before!
Tumblr media
I still have the book empty, and I have a bit of a fear of doing anything with it, as I’m not entirely sure what I want to fill it with yet! The only slightly off-putting thing was how bad the glue smelled, really stank up the living room.
The following week we were all inducted into the EPC (I think they’ve changed the name - but I can’t remember what it is) - having a look at woodworking and 3D printing. I had a go at using SketchUp with the 3D printers. I used them to make a couple of storyboarding templates. The first one turned out quite big, and I mainly use it for larger illustration thumbnails. But the smaller ones have been pretty good!
Tumblr media
I think I’d like to try SketchUp again, and hopefully give them a lid of sorts? To try and make it easier to hold, because they can be a bit slippery.
We also got to visit Ankle Deep Studios at Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard to do some lino prints, which overall was a fantastic trip! I’ve never actually been down to the dockyards before, so while we couldn’t go into any of the actual buildings, just walking around was very insightful.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I used some of the emblems I saw around the dockyards as inspiration for my lino cut, and also the podcast The Magnus Archives, as at the time I was still extremely obsessed with it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really liked my final result, and think I did quite well to make it look like an emblem, while also incorporating elements from the show, such as the eyes and the panopticon in the middle. While I could’ve cut the logo more, I do like the fact that we still have texture from the shallower cuts in the final prints. Again, just doing something I hadn’t before was really really fun. I love the tactile feeling of printing and things like lino, and wish I’d done it before!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I really do like the final results, and I think I may actually use lino again for a side piece for my major project. I’ve wanted to design logo/insignias for some of the organisations in TSTSU, and I think this would be a fun way to make it more physical!
Another new artistic method was riso printing, again during one of our timetabled days. Riso had always confused me a little bit, but Ceri did a fantastic job of explaining everything to us, and making the overall experience super enjoyable.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I once again used a podcast as my inspiration, but this time I chose the Lovecraftian horror podcast ‘Malevolent’ by Harlan Guthrie. I found the idea of layering things quite interesting and different, and I was also happy with the results of these!
Tumblr media
While I could've lined up the right print a bit better, I think what I mostly wanted to achieve worked, and was definitely pleased with how the print on the left turned out. I definitely want to try riso a bit more before I have to leave the university!
Tumblr media
While they’re quite small in the picture above, we also had a small go at badge making, with the badge press in the Illustration studio. I’m a sucker for things like stickers and badges, so I’ll definitely be coming back to make badges of my characters, or just anything really!
This was a bit of a long one, and definitely won’t be the last I do with these methods, but I’m glad to have finally put it all together for my blog!

SDCS RX-78-2 Gundam (Gundam Base Colors) - First Build of 2023
First build of the year is one I'm more than familiar with yet still somehow managed to trip me up. I have a love of the Super Deformed Cross Silhouette line of Gunpla so, when the recent online Gundam event came up, I decided to toss a special color version in with another order I had. After a bit of waiting, that order came in a couple of days before the writing of this and I couldn’t wait to get started.
Without further ado… here's the write up for my SDCS RX-78 Gundam (Gundam Base Colors).
Tumblr media
The basic unboxing was pretty standard. Seeing this is like my… 7th(?) SDCS kit and my 5th RX-78, I was well versed in this and had a solid idea as to what to expect… or so I thought. o.O
Things this very nice blue kit did right:
1) No extra parts. Both the book and the runner only had the basic larger CS-style frame. It seems to be a standard runner – the A2 runner – and it lacked any of the smaller SD parts to make this particular kit the smaller version that find in other Cross Silhouette kits.
2) The colors! I knew this was the “Gundam Base” version of the kit. This means it’s rocking a lot of blue tones. The main hue being a very nice dark blue. I have a G-Base colored Haro so I Kinda’ knew what to expect but those kits are just funky ball-shaped mascots. This looks Way better with the bright white armor parts offset against the weird grayish off-white of the frame most RX-78’s I’ve built have come with. The key is a cornflower blue (a light blueish purple) that was used for the chest vents and hip panels. It makes the whole thing work. = )
What it did wrong:
1) Still just the old RX-78 runners. It may have nicer colors but it’s still the old runner. This means you will need some cutters to take off the hands and the beam rifle. They bumped up those connections beyond the rest of the kits and it’s impossible to simply pop off like the rest of the pieces.
2) No extra parts. See… I did a broadcast for this and I always make a backup recording for possible time-lapse shenanigans. When I got the leg section of the build, I noticed I have one less foot frame part. I thought it had fell off the runner in transit and I yeeted it into the middle distance when I went to move the bags out of the way. Nope! It was missing from the start. Having the SD parts would’ve actually been a Good thing this time around.
Time for a sweet Photo Montage! = D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With a little luck, I managed to dig out some replacement feet frame parts and fix that aspect of the kit. It was a fun little build that came out great. Being a straight build, I stuck (Ha!) to just the included stickers. I did keep to a long running tradition with my kits and left the stickers off of the shield. The cross is supposed to be in that cornflower blue like the chest vents and skirt panels. It’s just that it’s a very complex set of tickers to cover that complex shape. I rarely use complex stickers on my kits as they never live up to a nice paint job or, like in this case, the raw plastic. I also left off the Gundam Base branding ‘cause… yeah. I like the shop and their choice of colors. I have no intention of slapping their logo on my Gundam. It makes it feel like an 80’s plastic smock and mask costume kit where you’re not dressed as Orko from Masters of the Universe. You’re dressed as Orko wearing a shirt with his face on it for some odd reason. o.o
Needless to say... this is going to be part of my desk toys alongside my (now fixed) G-3 kit. I Might just see if I can max out this frame and get the expansions for it. That will make it ever-so-slightly taller and give it a more mobile set of hips. A task for a later date.
Anyhoo! If You want a neat little G-Base exclusive SDCS RX-78 kit of your own... you might be out of luck unless you can make it over to Tokyo, know someone who can or P-Bandai adds it to their next Gundam Online sale.

And that’s the episode.
Damn.  What an episode.  Setting aside the fairly simple surface-level story, this raises a ton of questions--what does it mean to be a part of the story of the world?  How in control of our own lives are we?  How do we square what we want with what’s good for the people around us?
Are we truly free?
I like that the book of “everything in the world” was blank canvas, free for anyone to write for themselves.  I like that a lot.  This was a really cool episode, and while I like the episode about the lady inventing powered flight more, this is an easy and close second place so far.
That’ll be all for today’s liveblog, and for the ninth episode of Kino’s Journey!  Up next (starting tomorrow at noon EST!) will be the second half of Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts episode 1!  Tune in for that, or you can tune in to my Twitch channel today at 1 PM EST for our weekly Final Fantasy XIV stream!
Before I go, I’d like to plug both my blog’s Patreon and my Twitch/Youtube Patreon. I make my living off of Patreon, and while I make enough to cover rent and bills, I don’t make a ton of money from it and haven’t been able to save anything up in the last decade or so.  (I ended March with fifteen dollars in my bank account!).  Every dollar helps, so if you’re willing, please consider pledging a dollar or two.
Thank you all for tuning in, and thank you to my 46 blog patrons, who make it so I can do this for a living!  I’ll see you soon!
IN OTHER NEWS:
I recently completed my first playthrough of Undertale!  You can see the full playlist of those streams by clicking here!
I recently completed my first playthrough of Disco Elysium!
