“That’s because it is last minute,” she whined a bit more. “If stupid Denise didn’t fool around stupidly and break her leg, I wouldn’t have to beg you guys to teach me how to dance.” She buried her head on the counter, hair spilling all over. Sam smiled softly, shaking his head slowly. He gave Steve what he needed to chop and returned to his daughter.

“Well,” he started. “If you need a dance lesson, you should go to Bucky.” He grabbed the plates and placed them in front of you. “Because he was the dancer in the group. Your dad has two left feet and two right arms with a stiff back,” he mused, ignoring Steve’s cries. “I make do, but I’m not great either. So, try Bucky.” She narrowed her eyes. She did hear Bucky being a great dancer, but never seen him in action.

“Think he’d do it?” Sam chuckled.

“Oh, yes. That man loves dancing and lives for it,” Sam confirmed, and she smiled.

She had been hovering for a good half an hour now, and it started to get to Bucky. He set his book aside ─ he was reading The Portrait of Dorian Grey, sue him ─ and looked at her.

“Spill,” he said. “You’ve been hovering and getting between me and my new lover Dorian.” She chuckled lightly and fidgeted. “C’mon, peaches. What is it?” She huffed.

“Okay, so,” she started. “I don’t know how to dance and I need to learn it until spring break. I asked Papa and Dad, but they said they were hopeless. However, Papa said that you are really good at dancing and I should ask you.” She played with the hem of her t-shirt. “So, um. Can you teach me?” Bucky smiled at her, all fond.

“Of course,” he agreed easily. Watching her face light up, his smile widened when he heard her laugh happily.

“Really?”

“Sure, honey. I would love to teach you,” he said.

It had been three weeks ever since Bucky had agreed to teach her how to dance. Bucky had been nothing but a very supportive and good teacher to her: Correcting her foot when she stood wrongly, showing her how to do a specific move when it was a little complicated, sometimes, guiding her around by molding his body against her back… The list was long, and she was grateful.

“Shoulda known,” he murmured, a dark and mischievous look in his eyes. She shivered excitedly. Shrugging her hoodie off, she walked towards him seductively. Hips swaying slowly, she twirled and roamed her hands on her body. She tugged her t-shirt a little higher cheekily, winking at Bucky when she noticed him watching.

“Relax,” Bucky murmured, instructing softly as his eyes followed your every move. She tried to do as he said: Taking a deep breath, she rolled her shoulders and swayed her hips more seductively. Why I chose my url: This is kind of a convoluted thing, but like, the easy version is that it’s the name of my trooper on the leviathan server (now called Aea out of the game bc they were supposed to be my self-insert but then they escaped into the woods and developed a storyline for themself). The LONG thing is that I have an oc named Regia Elaphae, who I modeled after pnigophobia, the fear of choking or being smothered, and I made her snake-themed. Rex is the latin word for king--for king snakes--which i swapped to regina and then took out the n bc ‘Regina’ didn’t fit her, and Elaphe is the genus for rat snakes, but i found two ways of spelling it so i spelled it Elaphae, and when I got into swtor I decided to use Elaphae in reference to myself. I replaced my old url with this one after i started playing that trooper of the same name, bc my old one was :I . I was into hetalia in middle school, and homestuck, and when I got on tumblr that followed me into my url. I’m not into hetalia anymore, or anime at all, and homestuck fell off my radar into the ‘i’ll go “hey i know that” if i see it, but i’m not in the fandom anymore’ pile. For the longest time my blog description was ‘it’s been 5 years and i still haven’t changed my url’, but it was time for change fjdklasfaj. It’s better this way.

Do you complain when you are bored, or look for something to do? >> I might say that I’m bored, conversationally, if I’m not alone. But usually I just flop around and wait until my brain settles down. Do you think that music was better when your parents were young, or now? >> Music is just music. Some of it I like, some of it I don’t like, but every time period in the past century-plus has had its pop music that older people hate. I think it’s just more difficult to adapt to new music trends as one gets older, and one is more likely to experience nostalgia for the music they grew up with, and mistakenly assume that their nostalgia means that the music was obviously objectively better back then. There are some musical trends that I wish were still knocking around, sure, but there are some new trends that I love, too. People will always be around making music that I like, no matter what year it is.

How did you develop your specific taste in music? >> I mean, it wasn’t any effort on my part. I just like what I like; I assume it’s mostly subconscious.

I’m considering conversion to a particular organised religion, but I’ve been spoiled by the sheer freedom of being unaffiliated and I’m not sure how willing I am to give that up.

Describe your stance on religion in general? >> I’m notoriously interested in and even passionate about religion in general, even when I don’t care to personally participate in it. It’s one of those things I’d consider majoring in if I was in any way inclined towards formal education.

If you found out your bf/gf was homosexual, how would you react? >> Whaaaaat? The woman that is always saying “I’m gay” at any given occasion (particularly when she sees other women) is not straight?????? News to me.

Have you ever sung karaoke? What songs? Was it fun? >> I’ve sung at live-band karaoke... I’d say around 100, 150 times? I was pretty much a regular. My go-to songs included Smells Like Teen Spirit, Jeremy, and No One Knows. Oh, and The Trooper until I saw [fellow regular] Dorit do a belly-dance bit with a sword on her head during the solo. I think all of us regulars gave up on doing The Trooper after that, lmfao.

When was the last time you went bowling? >> The last time I was even in a bowling alley is when I was eighteen. The only reason I remember is because that was the last time I saw Thomas before he died. (That bowling alley isn’t even there anymore. Do you drive around the neighborhood to look at lights around Xmas? >> We usually just see them on regular drives. When I lived in the Pine Barrens as a preteen, it was nice because we lived by a four-mile-long lake, and you could always see the reflections of the lights across the lake in the water. Also, there was this one house that always went absolutely apeshit with the lights every year. I shudder to think of their electric bill.

Why are so many single people bitter on Valentine's Day? >> Because they’re lonely or have been hurt by exes or are unhappily aromantic, and don’t like being bombarded by hearts and romantic shit everywhere. It’s not rocket science, dude.

What holiday is a big deal for you? >> I mean, Christmas. I enjoy it and for once in my life I get to fully celebrate it.

Its a plot hole the size of the Grand Canyon, and it blows my mind that nobody at DC saw it, or else they did and just didn’t care. Like, the dude was just kidnapped a couple years ago by the big universal threat specifically BECAUSE he’s so well connected and like...the weak spot of so many heroes.

It doesn’t matter if HE doesn’t remember being a vigilante, just like it never mattered if he ever became one again, like....he has a shit ton of enemies who would love to settle scores with him whether he knows why they want him dead or not, and there are still plenty of people who know his identity and it only takes one to come sniffing around and find out he doesn’t remember shit and thus has absolutely no reason to be wary of them.

Whether it was the Court or someone else, this was literally inevitable, because well....they wanted to do this stupid “Dick FINALLY becomes a Talon” plot and it is so easily prevented just by like...a conversation about how hey keep your eyes out for this crowd because of these reasons....so, instead they just cut all contact between him and his family, because its literally the only way to FORCE this plot to happen.

But really it just makes EVERYONE wildly ooc, and he’s the only one who actually has an excuse. Ric couldn’t possibly know the danger he was putting himself in when he asked to be left alone, because he didn’t even have the CONTEXT to understand just how many enemies he had and what they could do to him/wanted from him. But his family absolutely did know all of that, and this is like, the ONE scenario in which they’d be justified in infringing on his privacy if only to lightly keep tabs on him, checking in on him every now and then without him knowing or like, having their own alarms in place or something like that.

And they really want us to believe that King Paranoia himself just...was like, well if that’s what you want, okee dokee, and didn’t give a second look back? Babs didn’t plant a tracker or something just so she’d have that comfort/security of knowing he was still out there somewhere and they could get to him if they absolutely had to in a hurry. Tim “I refuse to lose any more loved ones” Drake doesn’t have some kind of security protocols he set up in Bludhaven to let him know if there’s any sign of supervillain activity there (like, a vigilante pinned to the wall with a message about the original Nightwing written in blood next to it, lmao). Damian’s not popping by every now and then to glare ominously at these pretenders and try to decide if today’s the day he breaks Bruce’s edict to keep away, and teaches the usurpers a lesson in respect?

But nah.

And like, it’d be one thing if it were just a bad story, with bad characterizations....but like with Spyral, its a story that’s inevitably going to have long lasting repercussions....specifically BECAUSE of the ooc-twisting the writers did to set in motion the plot points they wanted to play with. And that’s just...such lazy, horrible writing. Across the board. Like Nightwing #30, after Forever Evil, was such a ridiculous, contrived piece of crap, with Bruce being just...utterly unrecognizable, because that was the only way the set up they wanted to segue to next could even happen at all. But long after Grayson itself is finished, we still have fans blaming Dick for the ooc scenario he was written into, and the only defense for him is to point to the over the top Bruce stuff that prompted it, and so which ever way you cut it, their relationship is damaged for years afterwards, from one direction or the other.

Now we’ll have some fans blaming Dick for ‘not letting’ his family be around to help keep him from falling for Cobb’s manipulations, with again, the only defense being to point at his family and be like well what the fuck is wrong with all of them that they just....didnt keep ANY sort of tabs on him at all when they knew what the stakes were way better than Ric possibly could have?

One way or another, characters look like shitty assholes, and not even because of fallout of a story itself, and difficult decisions within it...but in order to even START a story and get it in motion. And it makes reading that story utterly pointless, because no matter how good its twist and turns or dramatic moments (if they manage any) within it.....we’re all still sitting here going like yeah, but how is any of that even worth it when the endgame is still going to be either Dick or his family blaming each other for the shit that could have easily been avoided, except you the writers wouldn’t let it be avoided and also you couldn’t take ten seconds to try and configure an actual scenario that got you to the end point you wanted without sacrificing everyone’s character and dynamics along the way.

DC plz hire writers who understand even the most fundamental BASICS of storytelling, I am begging you lmfao.

4: What’s the time period and location in which your novel takes place?

GFS is set on a fantasy continent named the God’s Continent. GC is split in half with the north being a country called Noble and the south being a country called Commons. 30 years prior to GFS commons fell to Noble rule officially. Nobody bellow the border respects it. Noble are more traditionalist in nature, content to their rural life and ‘old fashioned values’. Common’s prefers innovation, technology and crime to get by.

Good For Something is primarily set in South Commons City. Not a very nice place, really.

5: Are there any former titles you’ve considered but discarded?

Before I decided on GFS, the working title was just “The Call of The Void” after the phenomenon of l’appel du vide which is basically like the phenomena of intrusive thoughts which are like “Oh this is so high up I could jump off this ledge” or “I could steer my car straight into traffic right now, huh?” but when someone isn’t actually suicidal. They’re usually random and fleeting thoughts. Its also called HPP (the high place phenomenon). Its a pretty cool concept that I thought related well to GFS.

I also found it pretty cool bc in GFS there are these people called Voidians who worship the void element. Most of em are dead. Most.

But yeah, I decided against it. Occasionally I still refer to it as The Call of The Void quartet or series.

6: What’s the first line of your novel?

“I woke up in a puddle of my own vomit to the sound of sirens and gunshots.”

7: What’s a line of dialogue you’re particularly proud of?

I stole this from a last line tag i did but i do love this scene!!!!

8: Which line from the novel most represents it as a whole?

“I ran out of second chances long ago.“

"You’ll never run out of chances so long as there are people still willing to give them.”

14: Which character most fits a character trope?

Trainor fits the Dumb Thot comic relief trope on the surface level but he’s so much more than that and i love him

15: Which character is the best writer? Worst?

Kruse is the best writer, but in an academic sense. Cube or Saintly would be the best writers in a creative sense.

16: Which character is the best liar? Worst?

Arguably, Ciel is simultaneously the best and worst liar.

17: Which character swears the most? Least?

Ciel and August fight for the title of who has the worst potty mouth. Blood and Kruse never swear.

18: Which character has the best writing? Worst?

Blood and August have the prettiest handwriting. Train and Ciel’s handwriting is illegible.

19: Which character is the most like you? Least like you?

This is a difficult one. I’d say im most likely a mixture between Bryn, Ari and Blood. Like... partial sweet bean, partial mom friend but also takes no shit and drinks too much iced coffee.

20: Which character would you most like to be?

None of them, theyre all deeply flawed and stupid idiots but I love them. But, I don’t think i’d want to be any of them lmfao.

the first fic i posted this year TECHNICALLY was the epilogue of a different path. the first standalone was chewbacca (aka my introduction to the jily world once again and i have such a soft spot for it)

ancient: the first fic you ever posted online?

hahahaaaaaaa. it was my own version of rick riordan’s the son of neptune before the actual book was published. it was on ff.net, and the first chapter got 7 reviews, and i felt so good about myself after that lmfao. who knew i’d still be writing 8 years later?

OKAY so i have 3 top favorites:

okay so i had seen this in someone else’s bookmarks the other day, thought it was an interesting concept—especially since i too love slytherin!percy and strongly subscribe to ofswordsandpens’ headcanons about it—but didn’t give it another thought until i was listening to a video about the cursed child and went: wait, there’s a percabeth hogwarts au that i saw somewhere. and immediately i hunted this down and i’m just in awe? i tore through it. belatedly, i realized that i made a mistake: i didn’t write down my thoughts as i was reading, which is definitely a disservice to you. however, here are a generalized list of things that i loved.

first of all, with hogwarts au’s, there are three main aspects that i look for: plot, characterization, and quality of writing. normally, fics of this size lack one or more of these key factors, but i was astonished to find that the plot is tremendously tight and intriguing (my lip bled from biting it so much because i’ve been stressed to the max), you write these characters with such distinct voices i can easily picture them saying everything—except, of course, now in a little british accent—and your writing flows so well, it feels almost like i’m reading an actual harry potter book, just with percy and co. you also do a masterful job of weaving together aspects of the pjo universe with the established canon of hp.

and there are so many specific things that i love. primarily, the way you write the relationships in this story; not just concerning percabeth (though i will get to that in a minute), but also with each of the interactions between all of the characters. i applaud you for how you handled luke/annabeth and rachel/percy, and the friendship among them all is just incredibly well done. i especially love how well you wrote connor and zoë and just, a lot of characters that i don’t often think about when i think of pjo. grover and percy’s friendship especially is heartbreaking, i just. he’s so protective because he loves his friends and holy fuck i also love how you wrote grover in this. but i just adored how you wrote annabeth/percy—the love between them, both platonic in its early stages and the romantic all throughout, was doubly apparent. i ached when they kissed each other’s cheeks, and i inwardly cheered when she kissed him in the locker room. there was just such a natural progression, to me, of their relationship. and man did i dig it. i’m excited (and maybe a little scared) to see where you take their relationship in the future.

boy, this is getting long. sorry. but some more just little quick things: loved the b99 reference, with both of their competitive natures playing out in a similar way to jake and amy’s. i kind of want to go back and see if i can find any other references that i missed because i was just too engaged in the story to catch them. also, zoë’s death killed me all over again, thanks for that. i like how you’re working the kronos plot in, and i can’t wait to see how the Final Battle plays out. what else? oh! professor hestia? beautiful. eventual maybe professor percy? outstanding. percy kissing the top of annabeth’s head? breathtaking. rachel being a quidditch commentator? earth shattering. (truly i cackled when i saw that.) mrs. o’leary being a cat? incredible. how you incorporated percy’s water powers? stunning.

ooh, this exchange was beautiful and had me cackling it was so in-character:

“None of us are dying.” Connor clarifies. “Not you, not me, not Annie, not the rest of us.”

“I might have to dispute that.” Annabeth says, from Percy’s other side. “Call me ‘Annie’ one more time, Stoll, and I’ll kill you myself.”

Connor only grins at her. “Sorry, love. No more ‘Annie’. Can I call you Beth?”

“No.”

“Anna?”

“No.”

okay, so i just finished chapter nine and i am blown away. sorry for how long this comment was, but a fic of this magnitude truly warrants it. i can’t wait to see what happens next.

god, oh my god, am i the only dumb bitch who didn’t get what the prophecy was??

anyway, i stumbled on this fic last year, patiently waiting for its completion, and now that i’ve rediscovered it, i’m so glad i finished it all in one go! i couldn’t imagine the tension of waiting for the next chapter, especially since the tension is so well-crafted!! i hardly noticed the tonal shift even as the story got darker and darker as it led up to the war, and in that way i was reminded of how extremely similar it felt to reading the hp books for the first time! you nailed percy very well i might say, and the awkward-yet-caring relationship he has with his dad. i daresay you gave connor and zoe more characterization than rick riordan himself, and the percabeth you wrote is perfect to the nth degree. i appreciate that you didnt bother with all the love triangle and unrequited feelings nonsense as well.

but i have to say, even as i cried at sally and paul’s wedding, or at dionysus’ quiet mourning for castor, what really struck with me most was the way you handled silena. for that, i have no words. that was a job extremely well done. thank you so much for blessing us with this fic.

Im going to quote this whole fic but I really love these lines? Like, you have this distinct style of writiting that I aim to acheive and you’re literally such a rolemodel!!! These are my favorite kind of fics to read. Funny story but I was going through a ‘no thanks Jily’ mood ( a horror, i know !! ) but your fics are just,,,,exceptions? You could write about trash and I’d love it and ask for you to sign me up.

james taking care of fleamont, switching off the lights gives me just a nice and realistic vibe? its so simple but i love how you added it.

honestly at this point, ive been sucked again by the fanfic. it feels less like a fic and more like a masterpiece that belongs in a museum but anyway.

i just really love this fic, okay? i love how james is just the kindest, lily is allowed to have feelings, its just so soft and warm. and it makes someone feel loved, want love anyway.

the dynamic between the characters are just so real and great and im astounded, in short.

your sirius is everything. so many fics potray him as a dick??? which is first of all #rude and also, not at all true. you made me love these characters even more so i sincerely hope you never stop writing.

you’re such a beautiful writer and the way you string words together is just poetic and gorgeous and all the other good adjectives you can think of. i read your spiderman x reader too and i was a goner for you. EVERYTHING YOU WRITE IS SO GOOD. i read it so long ago but i can vividly remember peter whipping the mask off and she just going wtf stop on the window ledge. what im trying to say is that you leave this lasting impression on people that make them remember random scenes and words / prose long after they’ve read it which is a remarkable feat, i believe.

and im so sorry im not on tumblr rn bc i cannot keep recing this fic but i have told my friends about your writing and they loved it too. you’ve got like a million fans. when i do get back from my hiatus, im going to keep recing your fics and people will cry because their universe will shift thanks to the newfound joy of your presence in their life.

Y'know like after that dumb Berseria disco horse, hopping back onto my 3rd playthru again (plus actual fam drama) made me think a lot about how much I sympathize with Velvet to a degree. Like yeah she did a lotta bad things, but if you put the amount of emotions she felt into a real life situation, she’s a lot more relatable than one would think.

I’m kinda hopped up on medication rn since I’m hella SICC but also I have hella FEELS.

Only my friends and long time followers know this (this actually used to be my vent blog years back LMAO)

but I grew up in an abusive household. My dad was a methhead, he’d abuse my mom, hell, he wasn’t even there when I, his first born child, was born and instead sleeping with another woman.

I was 5 years old when I first witnessed him get arrested at the dead of night. He screamed while being strapped down onto a stretcher, “Close the door, I don’t want my kids to see me like this.” The second I looked away and back up to my mom, the officer held a large kitchen knife up and asked, “He attacked you with this?”

My mom nodded and said, “He tried stabbing me with it when I reached for the phone.” The next day, we packed our bags early morning and flew to a different state to live with our relatives for awhile.

But the nightmare never ended. My mom’s a saint, possibly to a fault but I love her all the same. However, time and time again, my mom would still take him back. Her reason being that they need to “stay together for the kids” and that “she doesn’t want us to grow up without a dad.”

As much as I love her, I really wish she hadn’t. It was just so hard over the years and I even ran away from home on multiple occasions because my dad would beat me til I was bleeding. I would hide underneath the car in the garage in hopes he’d never find me until the coast was clear so that I could run to the park, clean myself up, and then go to a friend’s house.

I was like what? 12 years old when I was interviewed by the police. They asked me how I felt about my dad and they recorded it for evidence. I was scared at first but straight up started bawling on camera. I wailed, “I don’t want him here anymore.” My mother was next to me and weeped too, ushering me to a different room to calm me down.

You’d think shit would’ve gotten better but my mom never left him. He had some signs of recovery a few years back but then he did meth again and fucked shit up. He locked himself up in the master bedroom and my brother kept tryna break down the door and yelling at him, telling him he was a worthless father, like how the hell can he call himself the man of the household when all he does is make his wife and kids cry.

And then my brother looked at me, rage in his eyes, and yelled, “WHY AREN’T YOU SAYING ANYTHING?” The whole time I was frozen while my sister, mother, and brother where in tears.

At that moment I just felt so incompetent. I’m the eldest in the family but I’ve been through everything I numbed it all out. I immediately just went back into my room and sobbed because of emotion at the time.

LIKE GOSH I’M SORRY FOR GETTING REAL FUCKING REAL OVER A DAMN VIDEO GAME but I feel a real deep connection with Berseria. Not 100% DIRECTLY but within its themes of abuse.

Every moment the populace praises Artorius, it reminds me of the times my mom would tell us to just bend on our knees and accept whatever my dad said and wanted. Much like how the world accepted Artorius’ every word. It made me sick to my stomach

It honestly made me open up my eyes to how my brother was feeling the entire time too. He was always the one who’d get into physical fights with my dad and I see that kind of rage within Velvet too.

It’s also the reason why I probably feel like Magilou’s hella relatable to me as throughout the game, she’s relatively non-action, already broken, and just masquerading around a fake persona.

IT’S JUST!!! IDK I have a personal attachment with this cast and y’all can piss on me and shame me for being a stupid Berseria apologist but idk, saying certain aspects of Berseria is shit writing just because you wanted positive characterization like lmfao god actually makes me feel attacked and invalidated??

Like damn how dare you go through a fucking alcoholic phase and druggie phase like your fucking deadbeat dad? how dare you spend years upon years tryna kill yourself don’t you know any better?

Like sure you can dislike a game but when you word your wank a certain way it feels like my 26 years of abuse and trauma is a piece of horse shit someone can laugh at.

LIKE OH GOD FORREAL THO I’m sorry I’m that person that takes it personally but aeugh sorry I gotta be that person who takes it personally? I’m still living this hell.

Gurren Lagann actually saved me from committing suicide years ago but honestly, if Berseria came at me during my darkest of times, it’d be my #1 jam. But yeah man whatever lmfao sorry anyone actually read thru this bullshit OTL

So this is...its a thing. Let’s go with that. I’ve been calling around LA for pretty much all of last week, going through every oral surgeon I can find to see if they do the surgery I need and what their schedules are like, how soon I could get into surgery, etc, and also I’ve been asking literally everyone I know if they know of anyone, have a referral, etc. Even reached out to this old client of mine from back when I was doing sex work, years and years ago, to see if he knew anyone in LA with connections at Cedars Sinai or another hospital, like, to see if they could even just check with their hospital to see what visiting doctors specialize in that kinda thing. Keeping in touch with people from my sex work days, lol, is not something I normally did, or do. He’s literally the only one, and that’s because it just....kinda happened? *Shrugs* He's not a regular presence in my life or anything like that, just the only one from those days that for various reasons, I kinda kept in casual contact with - which for me pretty much meant that I called him or he called me like, a couple times a year to just be like hey how you been. And it’d been a couple years to be honest, cuz like....*gestures at the last two years*

LOLOL. I guess I just have very low standards for people keeping in contact with me. Who knows why. One of those inexplicable mysteries I guess.

But point is, he got back to me like, the same day, and acted as a go between for me with this old friend of his, who works at Cedars Sinai as a chaplain, their non-denominational one...last week, at the time, I was only focused on the advice part of the email he sent after he asked around the hospital for recommendations, and it kinda didn’t even register that this guy wasn’t just....had connections at Cedars Sinai, but was actually working there himself (for some reason, I thought he was in a different state when first put in contact with him, whatever). Let alone what his title there was. So he gave a recommendation that I’m following up on today, and I just called the old client of mine who put me in touch with him to clarify a few things he’d say, and it only then hit me where this friend of his worked, and so I asked how long he’d worked there and turns out it was two years.

Which was...when my aunt killed herself. And that was where she worked.

So. Like. This random guy who I’ve never met before, doing a favor for me as a favor for this guy who used to pay me for sex and kinda almost accidentally ended up as like...a casual but distant friend, is literally the guy who was hired to replace my aunt as the non-denominational chaplain at Cedars Sinai when she died two years ago.

And I don’t have the first fucking clue what to do with that?

Like....I’ve always considered myself ‘comfortably agnostic,’ like I’m more than willing to believe a higher power exists, I’m just not all that concerned with forming a definitive idea of what that might be or look like or want. I hate organized religion with a passion because lol, repressive Catholic upbringing, and I’ve just never felt a particular need to go out and look for faith in anything other than myself and like....the things in life I actually value, y’know? I’m of the mindset that like, I figure if I do things cuz they’re the right things to do and try and live a good life where I’m helpful to people and empathetic and compassionate, whatever that Higher Power’s specific deal is, they’re either gonna decide that’s good enough for them when I die, or if its not good enough on its own merits, like...idk why I would even want anything from them or anything to do with them anyway? Like sure God, send me to hell because the only thing that really matters in the end is I didn’t sign up for your official email mailing list or whatever the fuck. Nope.

So religion and faith and spirituality have never been a big...thing for me, or part of my life, its not something I really feel like, a void for not having or whatever. I don’t have an issue with what anyone else believes or why, up until the point where their personal faith apparently requires them to like....impinge upon my actual life and ability to live it the way I choose to....but I’m not like that dude who goes around trying to poke holes in peoples’ faith, just like...respect that I’m not interested in a sales pitch and we’re cool, y’know? Like my aunt was a chaplain, literally the only person in my family who ever kept in regular contact and like, made a point to check on how I was doing and shit and like...idk, loved me, is I guess the word to use? LMFAO. But like....yeah, she was the only relative I actually felt valued by, and thus the only one I really had anything like a regular or ongoing relationship with....*shrugs* So like yeah, whatever. She believed things that I don’t necessarily NOT believe, but more just have never felt a need to explore or try and decide just WHAT exactly I believe or put a name or a description to it.

And I’ve never been someone who sees signs in stuff that happens, nooooooot a fan of fate or destiny as a general concept and like....I’ve got no problem believing that things like ghosts or demons or anything like that could exist, y’know, things that just can’t be explained by science or anything near to our current understanding of reality at least....I’ve just never had anything remotely close to something I would describe as an encounter with the supernatural, or demonic or divine or anything really...spiritual, I guess?

So.....I don’t know what to feel about this, lol. Like, I’m trying not to read anything into it, like y’know....a sign, haha, not because I wouldn’t like to think that my aunt is still looking out for me in some way, I guess, maybe? Like, of course I’d like to think that, I miss her. A lot. And actually have been randomly thinking about her a bunch lately, like at weird times like, I don’t know what it is that made me stop and think of her, my thoughts go there? So I mean....I’m just saying....it wouldn’t break my brain or upend my entire worldview to accept that could actually happen or be a thing, its more just that I’ve gotten my hopes up so many damn times this past year in specific, that I’m just like....I cant afford to pin my hopes on THIS, like that this is ‘a sign’ that this time, its going to work out? But at the same time, its SO FUCKING SPECIFIC a connection like, and in such a WEIRD fucking round about way, that its pretty much impossible NOT to try and read something into it? Like, the guy who replaced her never even MET her, she’s literally just the woman who had his office before him and well. Is probably just remembered as a depressing story around the hospital, to be totally honest, cuz like, there’s not a lot of follow up that tends to happen when you ask so what happened to her and the answer is well, she killed herself, y’know?

So its like, how do you not get your hopes up even just a little bit, from thinking about that......which I figure means, oops, further to fall and crash and burn if this lead fizzles out too and I got my hopes up for nothing, but if it does pan out, like....I guess that’s kinda the point of faith in a higher power in the first place, lol, to hope for better or believe that there’s a point to all this or a place this all is headed, idk.

But then also now I just fucking miss her too, like, even more than usual, and thinking the shit I’ve tried really really really goddamn hard not to think about for the past two years, like how I know she had her own mental health struggles and even physical health issues, and I know better than to fucking blame her and yet there’s that part of me that wants to fucking throw a tantrum about how i need her and how could she leave me alone with just the rest of my useless fucking joke of a family, but then there’s the other part of me that’s like well I obviously wasn’t the help she needed either, so its not like I’ve got any right to think I was owed her presence or help or anything like that, its just. Idk. I miss her. I need her. I love her, like there’s so many things I want to tell her that I never got the chance to because I didn’t just fucking take the chances I had when they were actually available and there are so many more things I wish she’d told me, and just. I knew she cared, at least. No matter how detached I felt from the rest of my family or just like...fuck family in general, lol, she was the one person there who I never doubted like...just cared. About me. Gave a shit, showed up, wanted me to actually be happy and wanted that to look like whatever I wanted it to look like, didn’t give a fuck what other people thought my happiness should look like or require.

And its just like, maybe this is just a really weird, strange, major coincidence or maybe its a sign of something or proof of something and maybe it doesn’t even matter, bc like...I was just gonna say that its not like I even NEED the answers or to know, but like lol, dumbass, the fact that I’m actually asking the questions or getting worked up over whether or not I actually believe this means something or I just WANT to believe it means something, like, would tend to suggest I’m shitting myself and I DO actually want the answers which suggests maybe I’m not actually as agnostic or at least not comfortable with being agnostic as I’ve told myself, which....oh fucking hell. Am I having an existential crisis? Is that what this is? Jfc I better not be having a fucking spiritual awakening or whatever the fuck, like that is not what I need, this is NOT the time for that, literally nobody asked and I should know, Ive been here the whole time and nope nope nope this guy is not your ‘but the real salvation came from finding strength and purpose in something greater than myself in my most dire time of need’ narrative or whatever like I FUCKING REFUSE, my belief system can go to the BACK OF THE LINE until I’m good and ready to deal with it on MY time, I didn’t sign on to do a rewrite of some modernized Book of Job shit, literally any other thought in my brain is invited to step the fuck right up because THANK YOU, NEXT, I just willingly made an Ariana Grande reference because I can think of nothing more suitably over the top dramatic short of tossing my hair which is much too short to toss but again I insist nooooooooooooooope.

Like, love you and miss you Aunt Diane, and if that is you looking out for me plz know I’m very grateful even tho it totally doesn’t sound like it, but like, you know me well enough to know that I like....object to this timing and context on principle, WHICH YES HELLO I AM AWARE SOUNDS FUCKING STUPID NOW THAT IM TYPING IT OUT YET IT PERSISTS SO LIKE WHATEVER AND STUFF....just. I am me, and thus I shall super gratefully take like....just a smidgen of hope and optimism or whatever from this offering so like, I don’t want to be RUDE, but then Im gonna put the rest of it back in its box and shove it alllll the way to the back of my Pressing Priorities and unpack all that at a very fucking much later date, thank you ever so much, because like....I gotta be me, and I have been partners in crime with my Cynicism for way too long to just bail on him now, like, what kind of person would I be if I just cut and run on the anthropomorphized negative outlook that has helped see me through life oh so jadedly until now?

Ugh wtf, why am I like this, is it free will or is it God or is God even real or did Cthulu eat god or is God’s actual name Sonya and like I have no clue where I’m going with any of this, look the answer is obviously that a faithless blasphemous heretical fucker has phone calls to make today, and nobody’s finding the light here, nope, nope, NOOOOOPE, my motel’s one shitty lightbulb works GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.

1. Cosplay stuff. Mostly the Kakyoin wig that sits on its stand overseeing the entire room

3. A lightbox that was given to me by a friend. I need to clear that area so I can use it again tho ;;;

5 things I’ve always wanted to do in life

1. Really get into the animation industry and like.. properly become what I’ve always wanted to be ;;

2. Have a stall at an anime con selling art and stuff

3. Learn Japanese and go to Japan and visit lots of places there

4. Make my own cosplays fully by myself

5. Create something that people would love and enjoy (or at least be a part of something like that)

1. The fun and adventure of travelling to cons with friends and just. everything that those weekends bring

2. People’s positive reactions to things I create, even when I myself don’t particularly think it turned out all that well. I really appreciate that

3. Hugs. And just? Cozy stuff like friends all bundled together watching a thing with a cup of noodles and snacks and shit like that

1. Mob Psycho 100. It has 100% taken over my life currently and I’m just accepting this as my fate rn.

3. Osomatsu-san. I’m still dearly fond of those six shitty boys and that lonely little oden man

4. Voltron. I’m gonna die waiting for season 3

5. JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure. I’m so sad part 4 anime is over, but I’ll look forward to the possibility of a part 5 anime!

1. Drawing stuff, like commission work and also something for a zine I forgot I signed up to.. RIP the zine’s deadline is really soon

2. Get the SU Reanimate shot done

3. Make an attempt at starting my Mob cosplay. or at least do like.. a mini-practice run-through to figure things out???

4. Tidy my room since I got a friend coming to stay really soon oh god I need to tidy this place up

1. When I was about 5 I had alopecia so my hair fell out a lot, especially at the back. But once that got sorted it all grew in really thick again.

2. I used to go to an acting school but left because of an extreme confidence crash.

3. I am terrible at judging the volume of my own voice and often do not realise I’m speaking louder than I maybe should be.. I always need to be told to hush

4. I flooded someone’s bathroom once completely by accident and never ever owned up to it. I still feel super guilty about it

5. I once sent my grandparents on my mum’s side a fake fanclub letter for the football team they despise because I thought it would be funny. They didn’t see the funny side xD
