Biblical Insights:

The Last Days

In these turbulent times, it's crucial to turn to the timeless wisdom of the Bible to understand how people will behave in the last days. Let's delve into the scriptures, particularly the King James Version (KJV), to glean insights into human behavior as prophesied in the Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:1-5: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come." Here, Paul warns Timothy of the perilous times ahead. People will be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God.

Matthew 24:12: "And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold." Jesus Himself prophesied that as lawlessness increases, the love and compassion among people will diminish. In a world consumed by sin, empathy and kindness will become scarce commodities.

2 Peter 3:3-4: "Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." Peter warns us that mockers will arise, questioning the promised return of Christ and indulging in their own desires rather than heeding the signs of the times.

Luke 21:34: "And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares." Jesus admonishes us to guard our hearts against indulgence, excess, and the distractions of this world, lest we be caught unprepared for His return.

As we reflect on these scriptures, let's consider how they apply to our lives today:

How can we cultivate a spirit of selflessness in a world that exalts selfish ambition?

Are we actively guarding our hearts against the influences of sin and worldliness?

In what ways can we show love and compassion in a society that often lacks both?

Are we living with an eternal perspective, mindful of the imminent return of Christ?

Let's pray: Heavenly Father, grant us the wisdom and discernment to navigate these last days with faith and conviction. Help us to embody the love and compassion of Christ in a world filled with darkness. Keep our hearts focused on Your promises, and may we eagerly await the glorious return of our Lord and Savior. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Know And Experience

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16KJV

Our text is perhaps the most quoted scripture. Equally true it’s perhaps the least understood of all scriptures. Also, it’s proof positive that Yahweh God loves people. Let’s look at three parts of this verse.

Why did God send “His only begotten Son?” Most people believe the reason God sent Jesus was to keep people from perishing. That’s not what the verse says, He came for us to have everlasting LIFE. This is a totally different subject.

Why does the text say “not perish?” Everyone will die. Too often we believe that “perish” is our expiration date. Not! Our souls do not have expiration dates. We WILL live forever somewhere— heaven? Hell? That is determined by our individual personal wills and choices.

Douay-RheimesBible and KingJamesVersion are the only translations which speak of “everlasting life.” All the other versions say— “eternal life.” What is “eternal life?” John also has the answer for this question. John 17:3AMP “Now this is eternal life: that they may know You, the only true [supreme and sovereign] God, and [in the same manner know] Jesus [as the] Christ whom You have sent.”

KNOWING GOD is something very rare. Entirely too often we’re reaching out to the hand of God, instead of reaching out to understand God’s heart and needs— to know Him— the Greek Word for ‘KNOW’ is the same form of intimacy between a husband and wife enjoined in intercourse.

Everlasting life is living forever in heaven with the Lover of your soul, living with the One Who loves you like no one could ever love us. Rather than living forever in hell —“[where THEIR WORM DOES NOT DIE, AND THE FIRE IS NOT PUT OUT.]” Mark 9:46AMP.

There’s an experience I desire to have, while I am still here on planet earth. The first time I heard of this experience was from a lady who travels to the USA and Israel as a prayer minister. 9/11/2001 she arrived in the last flight into NYC, with an assignment to pray over a two block perimeter of the Twin Towers. In 2021, she went to every border crossing in our nation anointing each one while praying according to God’s will. Yahweh provides the airfare, hotel and food expenses for her every trip. Bill Johnson from Bethel Church International in Redding CA is the other person. Holy Spirit awakens them in the night and as they praise Him their bodies begin to pulsate in unison with His power. This experience comes from knowing the heart of God and Him. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to know His heart and share in this intimacy of His life?

Experience everlasting life now, not only in the hereafter. Seek to KNOW Him through His Word, study of His Word, meditation on the Word, prayer, fasting and praying in tongues. At least, I hope you will realize there’s so much more to our text than what we first thought. Do you want to KNOW and experience Him? It’s your choice. You choose.

LET’S PRAY: Holy God we want to know and experience You. Please remove our actual fear and create reverential fear in its place, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.

It paints a vivid picture of lilies, untouched by human toil, yet adorned with a splendor surpassing even the opulence of Solomon. This verse invites us to pause amidst life's frenetic pace and marvel at the divine craftsmanship evident in every petal and stem. It's a gentle reminder that true magnificence often lies in the quiet elegance of God's creation.
