So like Cal mentioned in her post, we met and had autographs signed by Kellen Goff at the con, the voice actor of many FNAF characters, including Sun and Moon from Security Breach. He actually signed our prints while doing their voices which was so cool and totally didn't make me or Cal fangirl no sir X'D.

Here's a close up of the print he signed.

He was also kind enough to sign me and bestie's plushies as we had been waiting in the queue for a bit. So here's a pic of the side her signed it. My plush is double sided with Sun on one side and Moon on the other. He signed the Moon side.

And here's what the Sun side looks like too in case anyone's interested (and for those wondering this is the YooTooz Sun/Moon inverted plush)

As well as Kellen Goff, I also got to meet FNAF and horror game YouTuber Dawko which was so surreal to me since I watch his content quite a bit. He was super cool as well and I managed to get a photo with him as well as this awesome print signed:

The best thing about the con was definitely spending it with Cal though. It was so surreal to have her right beside me and to talk about our beloved fandoms together. I can't wait to one day meet up with her again and until then, I gotta keep this little guy that she entrusted me with safe:

i like to hc he is autistic considering his voice actor kellen goff himself is autistic! thag and ftf very obviously in at least CTW (special interest of murdering) and in SL (special interest in the birthday boyyyy~!) has the tism

they are the FIRST animatronics in the games to have voicelines which i love, it makes them feel more sentient which is why i personally interpret ftf as more sentient if anything

he can literally mimic other peoples voices and thats so fucking cool

the only thing keeping him at bay consistently is fucking bonbon and thats it! he doesnt have his own stage so you cant shock him and he has canonically maimed at least 2 engineers who tried to power him off!

Fresh initial thoughts after watching various playthroughs of Security Breach: Ruin...

(spoilers for the game, please don’t read if you haven’t seen/played it yet)

1) Eclipse, my beloved 🥰🥰 So glad to see that they’re canon in the FNAF universe! Their voice was a bit different from what I was expecting (I thought it was going to be a bit more intense/full-on), but Kellen Goff still knocked it out of the park.

2) When Eclipse said they needed to clean up for all the kids coming tomorrow... 😭 I just wanted them to crawl out of the PizzaPlex and go find a new daycare centre to live at.

3) If the bunny mask Cassie uses is the same one that Vanny/Vanessa used to use, does it make canon that Vanessa used to have reality-wrapping powers to phase through walls and objects? I’m not sure if I understood that properly or not, because that whole mechanic was trippy as hell haha!

4) Ruin has cemented what I was thinking when I watched SB: Gregory is a stone cold bitch hahaha!

5) Seriously, why is this kid’s solution to everything just straight up murdering everyone in sight? 🤣 (I know it could have been the Mimic speaking at the end and cutting the lift, but then why didn’t it just malfuction the lift before it lost an arm to the door?)

6) For the love of God, someone give this poor girl a happy ending! I’m just going to pretend that when she’s trapped in the lift at the bottom of the lift shaft, Cassie sends out a distress call with her walkie talkie. Then Eclipse finds her and rescues her. Afterwards, Eclipse low-key decides to adopt Cassie and they escape the PizzaPlex together.

Obligatory SB Ruin first-impressions opinion piece

On its face, I do not like Ruin. It is not satisfying at all and simply opens up more questions in a very, VERY annoying way. And the few character moments I do adore about it are underutilized and short-lived. And that pisses me the HELL off.

Roxy and Cassie’s past and connection feel like an afterthought. It feels like it’s there to bait us, honestly. Like nothing came out of that other than an out-of-nowhere gutwrench scene that feels so cheap in hindsight. And Eclipse, god Eclipse (or as I call them when I don’t want to get canon vs fanon confused- Ruinclipse). Eclipse is great. I adore them, just like everyone else does. But there is not enough of them, not even close. In fact, I would rather have not gotten them at all because how DARE Steelwool make a character they KNEW would be fucking BELOVED and only give them like 3 lines of dialogue? And they’re great. Their voice in particular is fucking incredible. Kellen Goff KNOWS what he’s doing with character voices. But there was like none of them. And that angers me for OBVIOUS FUCKING REASONS.

My biggest gripe with Ruin is that it has things that are really fucking good, but there isn’t ENOUGH.

And don’t even get me started on how the whole mimic thing came out of nowhere and just brings up more questions and complicates things EVEN MORE. And now I am desperately digging for an un-before-discovered ending in feeble hope for SOMETHING, ANYTHING, that even vaguely SEEMS like closure or an actual fucking ENDING.

We have no background for anything, btw. We don’t know how Cassie knows Gregory, we don’t know where she came from, we know NOTHING about her.

This dlc sacrificed half-decent storytelling in favor of scares and gameplay and that is the exact opposite of what it should have tried to do. I consider Ruin a massive fucking step down from Security Breach as someone who loves Security Breach despite its flaws.

Ruin was not exactly boring like most critics I’ve seen claim, but rather the moments of excitement and good HAVE NO PAYOFF.

As it stands right now, I would honestly rather Ruin not have happened.

I will still post about it, and join in fandom hype, but not because of what it is. But rather what I know it could be. I say all of these things out of love. Because I love FNAF and I love SB and I love the direction it took, but god I hate how they have done nothing to enrich it with Ruin. This dlc honestly feels like a big waste of time. They focused on pleasing the gameplay-obsessed haters who wouldn’t have appreciated the dlc no matter what happened and completely forgot what was actually good about the initial game. And that deeply saddens me. I hope things get better. I hope whatever we uncover later gives closure, I hope there are things in the future, but as of right now this was a massive disappointment.

And honestly the bar of my expectations was barely an inch from the ground relative to the base game.

Edit: wow I sound angrier here than I thought I did when it was initially made. I promise I mean all of this in a “it’s so close to being great and I’m frustrated at how far it fell” way and this is not just me screaming “it didn’t meet a quota for the amount of things I like in it”. The lore problems are the biggest issue here (even though FNAF lore was already fucked but it’s never fun to see it get further mangled) it just specifically is extra aggravating how little of the exciting character moments we got if that makes sense.

I would like to introduce everyone to my third beloved fish wife (infodump below)

Her name is Arianna, and she's an anglerfish! She works as a night shift security guard, which helps make use of her low light vision, and keeps her from having to go out during the day, since she often gets light sensitive headaches during the daytime due to bright light. She generally spends her free time inside, preferring to call friends over to watch TV and lounge on the couch with her instead of going out and partying.

The growth on her is her husband, Kellen! Or what's left of him, anyway. He's not quite an ex-husband yet, he's deteriorated a lot since they chose to fuse, but he's still vaguely aware of what's going on, and she can get a vague sense of what he's feeling at any given point and get slight reactions from him in response to questions. She knows she'll likely soon be a widow, but fusion is a choice they made together in the desire to have children, and she's happy for the time and memories they made together while still separate. Anglerfish mating is unfortunately a bit brutal for the men, but it's what he wanted, and she has lots of pictures, stories, and memories of Kellen, so when the time comes to finally have those kids, she'll make sure they know their father was a good man.
