I’m a week late but honestly, I’m just happy to have actually done my calendars at all.

I’ve sat down and I’m making myself journal. I’ve found that after a good journaling session—whether I’m just writing, doodling, or scrapping—I always feel better after. It’s good for me mentally, and I really need that right now.

Alright, let's fucking GOOOO~

Starting off with my current "workhorse" pens - I have like *checks notes* 36 fountain pens and a bit too many inked up atm, but these are just the ones I'm currently reaching for or have inked up more often than not:

TWSBI Go (F): Kinda ugly! But also kinda cute! It's cheap and works great (I friggin love TWSBI pens tbh) and it has a little hole on the cap where you can attach a lanyard or charms, like I did! Makes it cuter imo and it's kind of my emotional support pen these days.

Opus88 Pocket (EF): This 2022 edition has a little Moon tarot design on the cap so it's pretty much the pen I use exclusively for my witchy/tarot practice journals! A lil bummed the cap doesn't post, especially since its a shorter pocket-sized pen, but not a deal breaker and I still love it.

Pilot Custom 823 (F): My grail pen that I've literally coveted for years and just recently acquired at the DC Pen Show this weekend! It's only been a day but I think it could potentially become my favorite pen. Ever.

Pilot Prera (CM): This is my third Prera lol. I just think they're great and really underrated pens! Also a recent acquisition from the DC Pen Show and this cursive M nib is suuuuper fun to write with.

Pilot Vanishing Point (EF): My favorite pen for planning! Super fine-tipped for writing task lists and schedules and love that it's so convenient/quick-draw with the click mechanism.

Journals/Planners/Notebooks under cut–

Sterling Ink B6 Common Planner: For a good chunk of this year, I was in this planner because I honestly love the size and all the layouts. Super practical and flexible as a system. 10/10 would go back. I've used it to plan, as a reading journal, as a tarot log...

But I get the itch to move around so it's been sitting a little unused since like June, oop.

Leuchtturm A6: I started craving something tiny and minimal so I've been bullet journaling in this pocket notebook for the last month or two and I'm really enjoying it!

Standard-sized Tomoe River Paper notebook: This is pretty consistent in that I don't change up the system itself, but I'm in and out of it for memory keeping/scrapbook journaling! It's almost always a Tomoe River paper notebook of SOME kind that I usually buy in A5 size to go to FedEx and get it cut down to standard. Though I'm thinking of getting a blank Midori MD A5 to have cut down next time - I've been liking the freedom of blank pages for journaling instead of anything lined or gridded.

I really need to catch up with it tbh, but I love sitting in an explosion of printed photos, stickers, and washi and going ham with the pages.

Midori MD Cotton B6 Slim: I also have this sketchbook that sorta turned into a visual sketch diary of sorts. I fell off a while ago but want to get back into it because it's super fun to work in and to look back on!

Wide-sized Cosmo Air Light notebook & A5 Filofax Malden: These are my tarot/witchy journals. Grimoires I guess? One is for journaling and all my messier notes while the other is more for reference and ease of organization.

A5 Leuchtturm: I didn't know if I should include this guy, but I've been writing it in a lot recently so I guess I will lol. This is like truuuly a miscellaneous™ notebook.

I got this A5 notebook back in 2017 to use as my very first bullet journal, then found out that this size is personally waaaay too big for me to use as a bullet journal so I hopped off of it pretty quick. It now sits on my desk because since it's mostly blank I'll just pick it up to use it to write literally A N Y T H I N G.

Most recently, I wrote like 5 pages in one night on notes for a fanfiction piece I was working on (I'm not a writer, this fic is never gonna see the light of day by anyone but me lololol. Hyperfixation is so wild; I've put 80k+ words within just 10 days into it so far and it's been hella therapeutic.)

That's all, I think!?

It's funny because I actually have a NEW notebook arriving tomorrow that I'm going to try out as a bujo/commonplace/omni journal of sorts?? I might write an update post after I've set that up and see how I like it <3

Everything is fucked up. Everything. EVERYTHING!

Arrow got shot. It was awful. This mother fucker was hiding behind a car and just…shot her. Right in the thigh. No idea why, Joel bashed his head in with a fucking pipe like, immediately. No one else was around. So much blood. Gave me flashbacks of Joel in Colorado… At least he was there to carry her, she couldn’t walk. She tried though, shoved him away dragging her blood-soaked leg. He just picked her up after a minute, she acted like she didn’t want it but I could SEE her slump down against him. We made it to this old hotel, infected everywhere, Arrow and I had to shoot them because Joel had no hands. She was shaking so bad I don’t think she landed many shots. He got her down on a bed and made me hold pressure on it while he cleared the rest out. It was bad.

I heard him yelling something at her when we were running, and he took all the guns with him except mine. He came back covered in blood, some was hers, some was the runners’. It was all over me. She was pale as a ghost. It was DEFINITELY like Joel in Colorado. It fucking sucked.

He stole a bunch of med supplies from St. Mary’s I guess. Had a stash. Good thing cause I doubt there are any crashed military helicopters around here. Pretty sure I’ll hear her screaming in my nightmares from when he pulled the bullet out. He kept trying to quiet her down, was freaking out, his hands were shaking, then more infected showed up. He managed to stitch her up before going and wiping the next fucking wave out. Where are they all coming from?? 

She’s been asleep since yesterday night, almost 24 hours. Joel hasn’t left the window, clutching his rifle. Pretty sure she told him to just shoot her and leave when we were running from those things now that I think about it. But he didn’t…

No problem anon, I answer all asks I’m just sometimes slow in responding! Originally I had a longer more detailed answer typed out but the app closed on me, which I’m frustrated about. I’ll do a quick summary instead.

Just remember as I always say, I’m not Taylor but so I can’t say anything factual at the the end of the day, but in my personal opinion, it’s not about Harry. Timing doesn’t work, lyrical context doesn’t work, timeline doesn’t add up. He is the mistaken assumption because he was Taylor’s first British boyfriend in 2012 and this song was written in 2012. They had quite a public relationship while Red was released. Naturally people will think that the mention of “London” is a secret tie in link suggesting Harry being the Message in a Bottle muse, but it is often a common misinterpretation when you look deeper in the details:

To keep “shorter” I’ll do the context in bullet-in’s:

Harry doesn’t have freckles, these photos of him were taken in 2012, even the KCA’s which Taylor met him (March 31st, 2012)

Message in a Bottle was worked on in the studio on April 23rd. Which Taylor tweeted about, and she mentioned being in the studio the very next day. It was her very first time working with Max Martin. Harry never flew to London for work while this song was written by Taylor and recorded in April. Instead on April 22nd (a day before she was in the studio making Message in a Bottle) Harry was on stage in NZ, touring and the entirety of April it was Australia:

Taylor mentioned that Message in a Bottle was a song about a crush. Who they had no idea that she liked them. This doesn’t apply to Harry as there was dating rumors about them in early Spring of 2012. The point of Message in a Bottle is that Taylor (narrator) is confessing her feelings to her crush because she was too afraid to tell them in person (fear of rejection) and sounds like future distance was an obstacle to her. She is hoping the person she is confessing her feelings to, one day listens to this song and hears how she feels about them and maybe they could be together. If she did date Harry for a week, he already knew. This song wouldn’t have been made. Since early April was when they rumoured when they dated. It denies the timeline and lyrical context and meaning of the song and goes against everything Taylor publicly had stated.

Max Martin gave public info that confirms it was Maroon 5 (Adam Levine) that interrupted Taylor’s first studio session with Max on April 23rd, 2012 as Max mentioned they were finishing their album. “Overexposed” by Maroon 5 came out on June 20, 2012. In the Lover Journals Taylor talks about working with Max Martin (June 10th, 2012 Lover journal entry) but this session in June in 2012 was actually for I Knew You Were Trouble not Message in a Bottle. Taylor just worked with Max (again) in June.

It is impossible for physical copies of an album to be done one week before an albums release. Confirming to us that Message in a Bottle was recorded, and written by Taylor months before June and confirmation that Adam Levine (Jake Gyllenhaal’s bestie was the one who interrupted the Message in a Bottle studio session.)

Come Back, Be Here (and Treacherous) were written on April 12th, 2012. Harry Styles was touring Australia at this time. No work or reason for him to be in London because his schedule never took him to London when this song was written. Come Back Be Here seems to be about the same muse, who had no awareness that Taylor liked them, even though they liked her. Taylor was visiting New York the same week as Harry further putting the Harry as Come Back Be Here’s rumors to rest…

Message in a Bottle has lyrics implying Taylor lost contact with the muse of Message in a Bottle. It is why she asks them “how is it in London?” instead of directly asking them. She wants to know how they’ve been.

One of the lyrics Taylor asks and wonders if she will ever see them again. Taylor and Harry are both musicians, have mutual friends, etc. Taylor still runs into Harry and consistently did previous years. They attend the same career field events and she saw Harry in September after Red’s completion because they were in touch (numbers exchanged) and began dating.

We are now left with “who is it about?” ….

The only fitting theory is presently Zac Efron:

He has freckles… Both on his nose and a bit light freckles on his cheeks which can also be seen from even afar.

He has sparkly bright eyes that completely stand out in a very evident way…

He was photographed in London on April 23, 2012 for work the same day Taylor wrote Message in a Bottle.

In March he was in New York City then was photographed in London (working) days after while Taylor was touring. Fitting with Taylor’s description about the person she met and suddenly had to go away for work while she was travelling, as they were too. He was in New York and London moving quickly again in April as well because of his tight work schedule.

She hasn’t run into him in 11 years: “wondering if I’ll ever see you again.“

He showed public interest that he liked her even while she was next to him he was making it obvious that he had a crush on Taylor. While Taylor was acting nonchalant and the total opposite (besides publicly admitting he’s cute and almost saying it to him).

Taylor was not rumoured to be dating anyone in January, February, March or April 2012. Besides Zac Efron and Harry Styles in April. There is no public indication or knowledge of Taylor going on dates with anyone else during the timeline we have and written date of the song: the only person who accurately fits the description and timing is Zac Efron, who she did not date.

Both Come Back Be Here and Message in a Bottle context and lyrically indicate it was purely a crush who she never dated and Come Back Be Here expresses that she started to fall in love with them (it hit her) when they left. Which doesn’t work with what we know about Harry and how they immediately (rumored) briefly dated in Spring.

Zac Efron spent late nights working with Taylor to prep the song they wrote about Ellen (“4 AM the second day”), as he was learning guitar since Taylor offered to teach him, and he had confirmed he’s been to Taylor’s house before since he was spending time with her.

(This one is purely up to you whether you choose to read into it or not) but back during the Speak Now era Taylor would write songs on her arm and lyrics indicating how she currently felt. Weeks before Taylor even met Harry and was still on tour Taylor had a few songs (March) about falling quickly and in love with somebody:

Help Me by Joni Mitchell / a track about falling for someone quickly and new (in love again), who is a “smooth talking ladies man” Joni (narrator) asks the person she’s falling for if they’ll join her in the venture in falling love vice versa. The thing is, when you get in relationships, you give up your freedom, which the narrator Joni is acknowledging to the one she’s fallen for and confessing her feelings to them through song. Wondering if both (and specifically them) will chose to give up freedom to be with the narrator… Similar context to Message in a Bottle and Come Back Be Here about falling, and expressing feelings…

2. Neon Lights by Natasha Beddingfield a song about falling for someone, wanting them to feel their love and see it, sharing laughter and memories which is similar context to Message in a Bottle.

There were other songs on the list too from the tour that was interesting.

june 30th- holidays!

still trying to enjoy my holidays, but i'm honestly already a bit overwhelmed with how soon we go back to school ahhh. i have to remember to just enjoy resting for a little while :) i took my massive careers test, and did some work on my research project (all about ears!) . definitely have to get back into some chem and math tomorrow! any ideas for a bullet journal theme? thinking i should start that given tomorrow is the first of july haha.

I need to scan stuff for patreon, I only posted once last month and it feels bad man. Well, the unintended break felt good. Coming to terms with that is less comfortable.

In general I'd like to come to terms with my process and progress being 80% cerebral 20% visible.

I want more of a offline social life but idk if I'm ever going to feel safe again cuz no one takes covid fucking seriously around here so I'm still hiding in my apartment. But the bigger issue is I'm all too happy to stay inside forever ahahaha

At the very least I need to start walking semi regularly again :B I don't wanna, but I kinda feel my body falling apart due to lack of exercise so I guess I gotta. Man. :-/

Blog 10: Final

I had no idea how much work went into getting published in a literary journal. While the task was quite daunting. I learned a lot during my research. Initially, I did not know where to start. Thank goodness for Google! I immediately typed in “popular literary journals accepting submissions.” I also searched “African American literary journals.” I found several literary journals that sparked my interest. 

Three platforms in particular stood out to me. They are Moko, Virginia Quarterly Review Online, and The Sun. The Moko is an online literary journal that publishes work about the Caribbean and its diaspora. Its platform is comprised of work from many Caribbean creators. I identify as Caribbean American and I was drawn to the Moko for this reason. After reading the many guidelines, I decided against publishing my short story on their platform because of the decision time. Six to nine months seems unbearable. Also, Moko does not offer any payment for submissions. While money should not be the end all be all it is something that I would like to be an option. Who knows, maybe later down the road, I will publish some of my poetry on their platform. 

Next, I look into Virginia Quarterly Review Online. The Virginia Quarterly Review has been around for quite some time and has featured some of the most well renowned authors. Some of those authors are Joyce Carol Oates and Robert Frost. While most people would be further intrigued, I on the other hand am quite the opposite. I do not think this is the right choice for a beginning writer. I was feeling very discouraged. Their response time is similar to Moko, but only 6 months. In the future, when my writing is more refined, I’ll consider submission to their platform. 

Finally, I take a look at The Sun. The Sun submission guideline page made me feel most comfortable. It wasn’t a lengthy page with several bullets detailing the many restrictions in submission. It wasn’t overwhelming at all. It encourages writers to “surprise us; we often don’t know what we’ll like until we read it.” It gives writers the feeling that they don’t have to live up to this rigid construct of writing. Writers should be able to be themselves. The Sun doesn’t accept submissions over 7,000 words so there’s no need to add too much more to my current draft. The Sun offers $300 - $2000 for fiction submissions which is more than admirable. In order to submit a story, you must have an account. I recently found out that I already had one. I’m not sure when this happened, but one less step for me. 

Thankfully, The Sun doesn’t require writers to submit a bio. When tasked with a bio I never know what to say. When I was still considering other platforms, I researched sample author bios. Many of the bios include achievements, awards, and previous or upcoming publications. However, I don’t have any relevant awards or previous publications. I combed through a few more samples, until I found a bio that resonated with me. This bio, unlike the others, featured the author’s educational background, her interests, and what inspired her to write her debut novel. When I am ready to submit to another platform, I will be certain to follow this model. 

The last thing to be considered is a cover letter which The Sun requires. A cover letter for a submission is similar to a cover letter for a job. Tell them why you they should select your piece and what makes you qualified.

Aside from submission guidelines, I will be working on my short story according to the feedback provided to me. My hope is to submit by the end of June or earlier. This process has been humbling as beginning writer. I have learned many things along the way that I will continue to use as I hone my writing skills.

2,000 Days

This post marks the point at which press.exe has had a daily post every day for 2,000 days.

I’m honestly not sure how the math of that works. It feels like an unreal fact. After all, I know that in January 2023, the blog will have been up for 3,652 days (two leap years, ya see). The idea that only 1,652 days of that didn’t feature something being posted feels a little weird in my head. I can look at those numbers and mentally parse that it’s a bit like 3/4 of the blog’s existence has featured a post, but it still feels ridiculous. There are 3,276 posts on the blog (many of which won’t show up until after this date), which means that somehow, despite having months silent on the blog before I truly fell into the habit of daily posting, there’s only about a year of time to jam into that particular pocket of air.

Part of this mindset shift is that I remember that I started posting daily in June 2017, which feels like ‘three years ago,’ but it really isn’t. It’s closer to seven years ago, and when I parse that and think that the first three and a half years of the blog featured things like a weekly story post to keep myself going on it, and suddenly there’s a little less time to fit that ‘year’ of Not Posting.

Okay, how did I post two thousand days in a row?

First things first is I didn’t really plan to do it (and I don’t plan on changing). There was some part of me, at the time back in June 2017 that noticed a streak of a few days’ worth of posting and decided to see if I could keep it going. Then keep that going, and so on, until here we are. It isn’t like I advertised this blog as ‘a daily blog’ — the promise was always ‘I will post when I can and if I don’t, then you have not been deprived of anything.’ I think that if an article didn’t go up on a day, nobody would particularly notice or contact me to check if I was okay. You make big habits out of small habits.

First thing then is that I didn’t hit a big number because I set out to. I hit a big number because I got in the habit of doing it and I got in the habit of doing it because it was gratifying to my particular mental mode to do it. I have not ever heard someone contact me to say ‘I love your blog, it’s so reliable.’ I know that the readership of this blog, speaking from what I’ve been able to glean, don’t read all of it; everything gets read, a little, but a vanishingly small number of readers, every day, see the post that goes up and goes ‘ah, yes, this moment’ and go read it. Post regularly because you want to, not because it demans audience behaviour.

Rather, instead, I shake out my brain and let a little fall out and scoop up bits for people. Some people like the How To Be articles and read them as a big archival dump. Other people like the Game Pile or Story Pile stuff. I have to assume that hypothetically, I have at least one youtube subscriber who does not know I have a blog, or if they do, do not care. Not everything needs to be for everyone in the audience.

At some point in my bullet journals, I made a calendar to ensure I didn’t have a collision on two posts going up at the same time, and that little calendar drawing grew and sprawled until I finally made a digital copy of it. I needed it digitally, because I kept writing on two different computers; my desktop, and my laptop, which I used when I was at the uni (as a student, then as a teacher) and otherwise ‘out.’ Unconsciously, this calendar made me better at recognising things like the passage of time, and keeping to a daily schedule, and being aware of things that I used to have to look up. Don’t worry, I still have to check which months have 31 days, but I’m a little less inclined to feel like a new month sneaks up on me, or that summer happens ‘at some point.’ I’ve gotten into noticing how often I get takeout, or how many things ‘feel’ like they took ages that didn’t. Building habits can have knock-on effects.

Another thing I can attribute to getting to this many posts, over this much time, is Building Structures To Build Structures. At first, the (a?) goal of this blog was to get me some fiction writing chops, to build an audience who would like the stories I was telling. I set out to write a story every week, and that was how I wrote three books, which was pretty cool, and a good habit to be in. The biggest droughts in the blog’s posting were those points where I failed at doing those things – with the Mycroft Mysteries and the Wolf Year posts being much worse at keeping me engaged with the story and its telling. This structure is also where I got the regular features of Game Pile and Story Pile.

I also keep track of a sort of set of subjects, and if I make a post on that type on the blog in a month, which means I don’t overdose on a topic at a time, and spread them out, which can mean that I recontextualise work and don’t just do a big brain-dump all at once.

Most of all, though, the thing that got me here is a lot of pre-existing privilege. I can have a blog where I say some pretty inflammatory things and even if someone gets mad at me about it, the worst that happens is they make fun of me on their forums somewhere. I’ve annoyed TERFs, Gamergaters, Channers (but I kinda repeat myself), Ripperologists and Death Note fans and the result of that is … nothing. Literally nothing. I have a computer, I can afford having a computer, I have webspace that I can afford, I have the free time to write and I am connected to an existing discourse that means people pay some attention to what I’m saying and parse the ways I hook their attention with a degree of respect. I get to do this because I get to do this, and that’s cool, but also: I know there are a lot of people who do not, and I only differ from them not because of drive or brain meats or habits or whatever, but because I just got lucky to be born where and how I am and integrating into pre-existing systems, most of which are pretty shitty.

Some posts are going to be kinda bad. I tend to think of meta posts as not being interesting. I feel like I need to make them, especially because I know there’s at least one reader who’s like, half my age, and who is often overwhelmed by the scop of ‘making anything,’ so being honest about what I’m doing can help demystify that for them. I do wrap-up posts to direct attention to things because I’m trying to teach myself to have pride in my work and to assist those readers who only click through occasionally. I try to keep from venting my bad feelings, but that’s also part of a habit: I think that if I got into that habit, I wouldn’t stop, and the whole blog would be a spiral. Even trying to avoid that, I know there are times I talk about total downers and get mad about them.

DayZ attempts to portray a realistic scenario within the gameplay, with the environment having different effects on the player. Thirst and hunger must be kept under control by finding sustenance in either cities or the wilderness, with body temperature playing a key part in the character's survival. BuzzFeed author Russell Brandom suggested that the mod has spawned the first photojournalist in a massively multiplayer online role-playing game , creating articles that are not only about a game world but journalism told from within it. The players in DayZ are forced to deal with dilemmas in similar ways as portrayed in both the comics and TV series for The Walking Dead. Invitations & Calligraphy

So I have always been a sentimental person. With technology nowadays, I know it’s easier and cost efficient to just send out e-invites, but I like to have something physical. I decided that my invitations would not only be physical, but also hand written.

Mid-June, Dennis and I found some invitations at Michaels Craft Store that seemed they would be on brand for us. We hadn’t exactly chosen the colour theme yet but my last name is Pink so we knew that would be one. we chose flat blush pink cards with gold leaves bordering the corners.

My mom works in a big fancy hotel, and when I was younger there was a lady that was a resident there that would send me gifts for Christmas and Birthdays along with a beautifully written card. I decided it would be worth sending her a message to request her to do my invitations. She did accept, but unfortunately the timing just wasn’t right and she would be on a trip until November. I wanted to be able to send my invitations ASAP as the wedding is just over a year away.

I thought about other people that may be able to do the job, but then I thought why not just do it myself? I knew it wasn’t going to be easy but I figured if I knew exactly what to write on the invitations and I practice that every day for a month or two that I should be able to do a decent job. And thus started my calligraphy journey!

I went back to Michaels mid July and started to look for supplies. I had no idea what I was looking for and googling “calligraphy for beginners” didn’t help either lol. I decided to go with a chisel tip marker and a bullet journal. I got home and followed a few videos for the alphabet. I found that I have a pretty steady hand, so a lot of the letters came out quite nice as a went slow. After practicing for a few pages I decided that the style I was getting from the marker was too thick and boxy.

I searched a few more videos to get more of a sense of style, and sent a message to the only other friend I’ve known to learn calligraphy. Based on the videos I decided to try a fountain tip pen. Still trying to be on the safe side, I went with one that had an ink cartridges' instead of the kind you dip in ink that had a straight edge 1.5mm nib. This gave me a look that was closer to the cursive I was seeking, but I found the straight edge a little difficult to use.

A few days later my friend responded that she actually wouldn’t be helpful, but knew an artist that I previously purchased some artwork from that may be of help. He suggested for what I was looking to achieve, to get a dip pen and maybe a starter book on styles. Yesterday as I walked down Spadina I found a little art shop that had nibs and holders that I could customize as well as a variety of dips. I found everything I needed aside from the book, for $10!

Let's Journal

Greetings magical souls,

If you read the latest article, you already know I finished mid-school about 3 weeks ago and going to continue on high school, but what now?

I have lots of free time which I would like to divide between season job, friends and family and creative content. Yeah, and also free time, because no one does something all the time. This summer I would like to spend more time with my friends and family.

Like a new bullet journal, life is just untouched pages, where we write the story of our life. We don't know what we will write but we can affect them by which way we will choose. The new chapter is starting for me and the same as a new journal starts with blank pages.

I chose the Leuchtturm1917 in the Bauhaus edition, with a little cute quote on the top: "Everything starts from a dot.". I decided on it because I used the slim version, which you could see in older articles and also a lot on Instagram.

The index is not something I use pretty often, so I pin here a small note, ideas and it's basically "a page for everything."

May reflect was something where I wanted to record my most important moments from may and there were so many of them. It's black and white for now, but I plan to add a little colour. I let you know if I gonna update it on Instagram.

I think June started to show that I'm starting to accept myself, which is why there are so many of StudyStream notes from sessions. More. This page is also partially made up of upcycled washi tape from the sticker packaging.

On the same page, there is also a small calendar which is so cute, but it isn't really practical. It better as a deletion calendar, but still can be useful for smaller event notes.

At last the name of journal is on the back, which makes the journal little more minimalistic (inspired by Nae ig: @kalepipe).

When developing the idea for the Bullet Journal I thought how could it relate to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and creating a product that is specifically marketed and made to be accessible to people despite their economic situation (E.G having to study or work full time leaving themselves with little time to themselves as they do not have the privilege to either hire someone to do it for them or take the time off needed to create it themselves.) giving the general public equal access to the same lifestyles, opportunities and organization. 

I personally have always loved the idea of bullet journaling but its never been an obtainable idea as I have never had the time to create one or the creativity it takes to make ad maintain one. Through always dreaming on Pinterest or seeing ones made on TikTok selling for quadruple the price of something I could logically afford. I wanted to design something that could become a useful everyday product for someone and make something upper class and once unobtainable a product that is now within reach. 

By creating a product that is creates a more organized and sustainable future for others, the impact it has is essential to the growth of the customer. The impact is greater in the customers life; The ability to creatively express yourself without having to learn skills that you once didn't have due to many reasons such as low economic status, lack of education or skill and/ or just lack of time creates a better mental health space, healthier coping mechanisms and also opens up the ability to learn a skill they once didn't have. 

My personal responsibility on this project was the entire concept from start to finish. As I personally didn’t work in a group project I designed, thought or and innovated the project while also linking it back to the 3rd goal of good health and well being of the sustainable goals of the United Nations. 

While something as simple as journaling may seem as a simple task, for those struggling with mental health disorders such as depression or anxiety; the simple task of doing something easy for themselves is not something they are able to do everyday. Often everyday tasks such as brushing teeth and/or hair, getting dressed, making your own bed become too much for the individual and they struggle to complete. By handing them a journal that half the work is already done for them. We soften the task making it more obtainable and a more sustainable task for them; easing their discomfort as they complete the task. 

I found this to be bit of a passion project for me and contributed 100% of the idea, creation and writing to the assignment to get it done. While Good health and well being may be swept under the rug and seemingly less important of the goals. It is one that can be made easily accessible if you are creative with the forms it takes. Good health is not just physical health. It is your mental and spiritual health as well. Your well being is not just your physical wellbeing and safety; it is about being safe and well with yourself. 

I personally struggled with designing the pages and drawing them up as a bullet journal has a hand made and drawn feel and it would not feel authentic to the original source matter to do it any other way. However, I do not have a creative bone in my hand to be able to create, design or even recreate some of the art that is seen on social media. I did create an image where you get the general idea of what is wanted from the design; however, if I were to actually create this product I would hire someone who actually has talent to make and design those pages. As it is not for me. 

While this does not solve all the problems under the goal of Good health and wellbeing, it infact doesn't even solve 1/100th of a problem under it. It does show that there are simple and effective ways to open up the solution the general public and make it sustainable. obtainable and simple for the public to enjoy.

Great News! The Jenni's Space Shop Will Open Soon!

Yea, I went commercial and started a Jenni’s Space Shop. Please ignore the iteration currently on the website for now, though. I’m still working on coding it and setting it up. My goal is to have it up and running and meeting international commerce standards by August 1, 2022, which happens to be my 56th birthday, my 25th wedding anniversary, the 9th anniversary of my business, and a major pagan holiday, Lughnassad, the first of the three harvest festivals.

The Jenni’s Space Shop (this link is to Etsy’s version) features my design, mostly on products provided by Printful. I chose Printful because of its excellent reviews and decent transparency about sourcing its products. I might occasionally as time goes on add in things I’ve knitted. However, hand knitting is extremely labor-intensive, so most of my hand knitting will be priced out of the range of average people (I hope to be able to provide inexpensive patterns, though.

What Will Be In the Shop?

To start with, the Jenni’s Space Shop will sell almost entirely “swag”. I have a large collection of inspirational and funny sayings stored on my One Note. Every week or two or three I’ll pick one or two of them to create a set of related designs. I’ll set them up with compatible Printful products, and post them here and on my Etsy shop.

Over time I plan to enlist the help of actual artists (instead of an amateur like me) to create coloring page designs. I can use those for products that celebrate hard-won mental health and support hard to win human rights. I will also create physical and digital projects and patterns for hobbies such as bullet journaling, coloring, knitting, et cetera. Finally, I plan to create mental health journals and activism journals for people who are on journeys to make a difference.

What if I Don’t Want to Wait Until August To Shop Jenni’s Space?

Good news! I have already opened my Etsy Jenni’s Space shop, and you are welcome to order there. As of this writing (June 6, 2022), I only have one design and 10 products in the store. I’m already hard at work on my 2nd design and hope to have more products up next week. I try to minimize the impact of commercialism on my readers and to maximize the impact on mental health and human rights. Because of that, I am trying to provide functional, attractive items that “sell” the idea that your hard-won mental health (even if imperfect) is worth celebrating, and that human rights are worth fighting for.
