A Festive Breakup

Right before Jose leaves Encanto, Jose will break up with Chepe for good. They started their relationship under the fireworks and ended it in another.

So eventually Jose will get tired of their secret relationship. He wants Chepe to be open and be public about it. During a festival, Jose will attempt to kiss him in public, but as usual Chepe will rebuff him and another argument starts again. Sick and tired of this game, he will explode with emotion and ask him why he keeps hiding his true self. He will ask, no demand that Chepe at least say that he loves him back. If he doesn't hear those words from him, he won't know if Chepe is just using him or truly cares about him. He will yell out "Say it! At least once! Tell me you love me!" Fireworks will be blaring, so their whole conversation is muffled from prying ears. And we know how it ends, Chepe can't say it, won't say it. Behind Jose, as the colors of the fireworks paint around them, he sees the stares of the people around them. It's only a few who stares, but to Chepe it feels like everyone. So he says nothing. Jose tired of the nonsense, looks so heartbroken and just says "I can't do this anymore. We're done."

This will lead Chepe, who is just suffocating from his own emotion to burst out in anger and physically fight Jose. Thankfully his father, Julio, will put a stop to that. And so goes their breakup and they won't get together again until three decades later.

After this break up, Jose will be dating Bruno openly and then leave the village.

Jose doesn't really tend to "attract" others, per se, but when he approaches you he tends to draw you in.

Other than that he definitely couldn't be described as a loner, but as one of 5 kids he really appreciates his alone time, hah.
