#today's gone Badly and i'm upset but instead of venting abt it i'm gonna channel that energy into doing a bit of tag rambling abt Boothill #well. less abt Him and more abt uh. self-analyzing my anxiety surrounding contributing to fandoms. he's just today's catalyst #like. i know it's mostly a me thing. i'm hypersensitive to criticism and very conflict avoidant + socially anxious + perfectionistic etc.#so I'm the one that keeps myself from posting more stuff out of fear of being criticized or called-out for what i've made #bc inevitably Someone's gonna see it and think its OOC or a problematic take or they'll misread my intent. etc etc what have you #but like. that's inevitable. there's no way to communicate every single thing with all of the nuance required to avoid misunderstandings #and other times it's not a misunderstanding it's just a difference of opinions and that's Fine!! there's no accounting for personal taste #there's no accounting for several things actually. taste‚ bias‚ lore-knowledge‚ differing levels of chronic-online-ness‚ etc #so this isn't me complaining abt the state of fandom culture (although i do think. sometimes. ppl take shit a bit too seriously)#but anyways all of this is mostly just anxiety-fueled. it's not like i very often actually even receive negative feedback or anything #if anything ppl tend to tell me that i'm overthinking it and killing my own fun and worried that my stuff is more OOC than it is #which like. yeah. Yeah u right :) but that's just the way that i am! always losing the idgaf war i suppose #anyways what's Boothill got to do w this ur wondering. well. i've been thinking abt the quickly emerging concept that he's illiterate.#and it just. has me feeling a lot of ways. and watching ppl disagree over it has me feeling some Bad ways. bc it's def a loaded topic!#if you'll pardon the pun there. and i don't rlly have anything new to add other than that i'm conflicted abt it.#like yeah i saw the leaks days ago. of him mentioning 'not hitting the books' much as a child when we ask him why he sends voice messages #or voice Transcriptions ig. ykwim. and like. *braces for impact* ...i liked it? like. it doesn't feel right to call it endearing #i'm not trying to infantilize him. ok that's not the right word either but ugh. you know? what i mean?? who am i kidding even i don't know #it's not quite right to say that it feels like Representation either. but it's something close i guess #as a southern person myself who didn't receive a 'complete' education due to factors that weren't to do with my intelligence #the concept of seeing him as a capable force to be reckoned with and respected who also happens to have not received much formal education #i like that. i do. but there's so many issues w it at the same time. like. as i said‚ being southern myself has me Wary of the way Hoyo is-#writing him. as well as of the way that the fandom is taking the bits of his lore and running away w them. and i'm Very aware of how ppl-#will see a southern character and be All Too Eager to agree that they're lacking intelligence based on our Redneck™ stereotype #sigh. and before we even go too far with this. it's not even confirmed that hes completely illiterate. which is a valid criticism i've seen #there's Multiple reasons that could make him prefer voice to text. but regardless. i'm just worried that ppl will misconstrue my intentions #like. example: that edit i made the other day of him saying 'no thanks i can't read'. wasn't me playing into the stereotype of-#'haha dumb country boy can't read!' it was. in my eyes. something he'd say as a joke to make light of a potential insecurity #like. i think there's far more depth to Boothill's character if ppl could look past the surface. and i dont wanna contribute to the problem #but sometimes ppl Will have stereotypical traits and i wish the same could apply to characters as long as it's done Thoughtfully.

I love over-analyzing media and I have pulled magnificent theories and headcanons out of my ass on the tiniest crumbs in other fandoms before BUT

y'all might be taking this improvised comedy show that is greatly determined by dice rolls a little too seriously

Make a playlist including a song by an artist/band from the country each fighter is from. So for example, try to add a song by a French musician to represent Glass Joe, or add a song by a Turkish musician to represent Bald Bull. It doesn't have to be "fitting" or character accurate, it's literally just a fun thing to do and can also help support artists that might not be as well known outside of their country.💃🕺

Bonus points if you can find a band/artist from the specific city that the fighters come from. I was only able to do that for Glass Joe, Von Kaiser, Disco Kid, Piston Hondo, Aran Ryan, and Mr. Sandman.😭

This is totally not in reference to anything anyone has posted, but man imagine thinking you know someone's characters better than the person themself. Imagine if you were just vibing with your literal OCs who you made, and some random person comes up to you and goes "UMMMM ACTUALLY your OCs would NEVER act like that because I think they'd act like THIS!" and then they get mad at YOU for not going "oh you're so right, how could I forget I put you in charge of MY OCs?".

Hey in your opinion who do you think is the mastermind of CIDR? I am very curious about what you think. For me it’s either Jenny or Morty.

I do have a few theories about who the Mastermind coud be, and I honestly woud say it's probably Morty.

Let me explain:

(Note that most of this stands from the two pre prologue videos [this one & this one] so chances of this aging poorly are high)

We've Technically already seen the Mastermind on "Prologue...Prologue?", but It's Imposible to know their identity due to them wearing a cloak

This is not the only time we see the Mastermind, as it also apears on "...Talents?" The proof of this two mistery kids being the same being Membrane's coment about why they where dennied access to the academy.

Out of the main cast his woud basically writte out people with clear talents:

- Jenny - Star (with "...Talents?" also confirming that she was approved) - Ed - Blossom - Bubbles - Vendetta - Zim - Dipper

We can also writte out Gaz & Dipper since "...Talents?" confirms they were approved. (Charlotte is also out because let's be real, she's not smart enough to be the mastermind)

in "...Talents?" we also learn that the Mastermind is famous or at least has a high reputation

So we can writte out character's that woudn't be poppular on a world scale

- Cartman - Kyle - Eddy

Which leaves us with Mabel, who coud be famous for the same reasons as Dipper (Mystery Twins) & Morty, due to being Famous Scientist Rick Sanchez Grandson/Sidekick.

We know it can't be Mable since she has a Ultimate Lab Confirming she was Approved for the acaddemy.

We also know for a fact that the Mastermind is one of the Students, as we can see in the "Class Trial Preview" that there aren't any empty Seats meaning the Mastermind took the place of the Missing "Ultimate Scientist".

Which woud leave Morty as the only possible person that coud be the mastermind.

Also you coud say that the reason for Morty being the first Murderer is him removing himself from the game before he has the chance to become a target, if that's the case it woud mean he will fake his death once he eventually gets voted as the culprit (which woud be easy as "Prologue...Prologue?" tells us about an invasion from Shapeshifters)

And woud explain Rick being the only hostage that we can't see as it was just a trick from Morty to give himself a motive.

This is what I've managed to gatter from the clues we have so far, but whith this being the BIG final mystery maybie we will get more clues that prove me wrong (I say as if Danganrompa's 1 & 2 twists weren't predictable from chapter 1...)

#ruckis borks #ruckis rants #<- in the tags #I've been wanting to do some writing on the account of I need a way to take my mind off of how the campaign has been going #it's been a massive snowballing effect paired with player favoritism. ugh.#a large part of it is difference in preferred playstyle and pace #I'm not gonna get too into detail but I will say. with how its been going it makes the oddysey look like a cake walk.#its being blamed on The Fates as a plot point but largely has to do with how dependent the dm is on dice rolls for results(the dice hate us #idk about you but playing out a soap opra you didnt consent to being a part of when it started out as goofs and gaffs Every Single Session #it kinda sucks #on top of the fact her dice REALLY hate us and the only part I had left to enjoy (fighting) has been sapped of fun. we keep losing.#but anyways one of my characters got the fuck out of dodge and went home after telling the party leader off #and the other has gone full on psociopath murder hobo mode #and now I'm sitting here like... I could write a better story >:( I'm GONNA write a better story >:(((#so yeagh this might just be the thing that pushes me to continue writing OotS (I'm also reduxing the first few chapters of the heroes tale)

Also this made me realize Adrien Agreste, Hunter from The Owl House and Mythra are literally the exact same character but in different fonts?? Blond kid who has no idea of the real world, isn't what they originally thought they were, have a hard time making friends and with social cues, have been fucked over extensively by their male "parental" or "familial" figure, have a shit ton of expectations set on their shoulders, are seen as "gifted" by the general population and their friends, and so on so forth. Kinda uncanny actually...
