"I should've done that sooner," you mumbled into his hair while his arms snaked fully around your waist, pulling you in and breathing in your scent. "On the helicarrier. I wanted to, but..."
"You were afraid. It's okay, I was too," he whispered into your shoulder.
There was a loud unsettling beep that interrupted your moment, causing you both to chuckle and shake your heads. It beeped again, louder if possible, and Steve broke away from you.
"I think your laundry's done."
"I think even a partially deaf man down the street knows my laundry's done," you commented and he rolled his eyes, popping open the dryer and tossing your clothes in the basket.
"How many more months do I have to do this?" he asked.
"Just one. I'm gonna miss it though, I hate laundry." you grimaced and Steve came back to you, basket separating the two of you by only one foot.
"I guess I'll just have to make up for it in other ways," he murmured, leaning down to press his lips to yours once more.
"We should go," you said softly. "It's late,"
Steve pulled out his keys from his pocket, handing them to you and saying, "Why don't you go over to the car, I'll grab the rest of the stuff and be out in a minute."
You nodded and slowly walked out of the laundromat, unlocking the doors to the Benz and hopping in the passenger's seat while Steve grabbed the rest of his things, turning off the lights and shutting down the power before stepping out and unlocking the door. You figured he'd done this many times before just from the looks of it.
Steve opened the backseat doors and placed the laundry baskets inside and then opened the driver's seat door, and slipped in.
You were curled into your seat, your sweater pulled tightly around you. Steve chuckled lightly at the sight and tucked a few stray strands of hair behind your ear.
"If you're tired you can sleep," he assured you.
"You sure," you yawned.
"Yeah," he grinned. "I'm sure, you were drinking tonight that probably drained you."
"I'm not a lightweight I promise," you mumbled. "It just-I just-"
"Shhh, it's okay," he chuckled. "I believe you. Now get some sleep (N/N),"
"Hey have any of you seen Steve?" you asked yawning and walking into the kitchen where Pepper, Tony and Sam were sitting.
"He and Natasha went out to follow a lead," Sam answered and passed you a cup of coffee.
"You were out late last night," Pepper said, "Everything went okay?"
"Yeah, it was fine." you nodded. "I just had to check up on some stuff after drinks with Nat," you said vaguely and sipped the hot bitter drink, savouring the feeling of the warmth rushing through your body as it ran down your throat.
"Did you go see Cap? He was a bit unlike himself today," Tony asked. "I mean not in a bad way, he was just different."
You shrugged, "Don't know why that could be," you lied and headed for the fridge, checking to see what you could make yourself for breakfast that day, settling on a bagel and cream cheese. "Tony do you have a bike I could borrow?" you asked. "I have to go to court today, the hearing's in a few hours."
"What kind of bike? Like a pedal bike, electric bike, motorbike?"
"How bout a Harley," you said. "You're rich, you should have something." you chuckled.
"Just use Cap's." he shrugged. "They took the car. If it gets damaged I'll pay for it."
"He keeps his keys in his room," Sam said. "Plus I'd like to see the look on their faces when you ride up in a Harley,"
"What do you expect her to chew some bubblegum like she's from some 1950s pop up?" Pepper asked and you laughed.
"No it's just for a little fresh air, hopefully, it'll calm my nerves."
The group nodded and you quickly finished up your breakfast, heading to your room to go change into more appropriate attire, some black dress pants and a blue blouse. You had read somewhere that the colour blue projected the virtue of truthfulness so you hoped you could at least use some angles to your advantage, especially since this wasn't a case that would be ruled by a jury.
You glanced again at the case files while walking to Steve's room and looked around for the keys to his bike. You came across them on his desk, next to what seemed to be a photo of a group that looked familiar.
Curiosity got the better of you and you picked it up, flipping it over and seeing Steve's handwriting spelling out:
(Y/N)'s SHIELD team bonding night '13
You chuckled remembering that night. You had decided it might be a good idea for Steve to get to know some of the personnel better and for them to know him as Steve and not just Cap. It was practically in your job description as a liaison. It was easiest to rent out a bar, find a karaoke machine and let the night do most of the work, which it did.
Turning the photo to look back at it your smile faded into a frown. Crossing the lines of people, it's almost like it was a game, dead or HYDRA?
But when you saw Steve's smile, even though the memories were distant in the past your heart couldn't help, but feel like it might have accomplished something. But you noticed his eyes weren't on the camera, you followed his gaze through the photo till it landed on you. You had an arm around Natasha and were also simultaneously giving one of your younger trainees bunny ears.
"Find anything interesting?"
Your neck snapped to the voice coming from the door, but you noticed it was just Steve, leaning into the frame.
"I-I-I was just looking for these," you said holding up the keys. "S-Sorry."
"It's okay," he assured you and motioned his head toward the photo. "You remember that night?"
"Y-Yeah," you nodded, regaining your composure. "I can't believe you still print out your photos,"
"I like to write little notes on the back," he shrugged. "Call me old-fashioned."
"We took this almost two years ago, why'd you pull it out?" you asked while he walked further into the room, dropping his car keys and wallet on his dresser.
"I think that was the night I realized somehow you were going to change my life. I didn't know how yet, but over time it became a bit more clear." he nodded, looking down at his hands, now fiddling with a ring that found its home on his index finger.
You didn't know what to say, just staying silent seemed better.
"Why'd you need my bike?"
"Huh?" you lifted your head that was still looking at the photo and he repeated the question.
"Those are my keys. Why'd you need them?"
"I wanted to ride a Harley to the courts today, I have a hearing in," you checked your watch. "Two hours. Tony said he'd cover any damages if I crashed, but I think we both know I'm a better driver than that."
Steve nodded and you gave him an awkward smile.
"Well, um, good luck at the hearing. I'm sure you'll knock some sense into them."
"Thanks, Steve, for that and letting me use your bike." you went up to him and laid a hand on his shoulder, pushing yourself up on your toes and pressing a kiss to his cheek, right on the corner of his lips, as if to say you wanted more but you weren't sure. You hadn't had that conversation yet.
"Dinner," Steve said suddenly and you frowned, pulling away, but he held both your arms at your side. "After the hearing, I-I can take you to dinner."
You smiled. "Sure, I'll see you then."
He loosened his grip on your arms and you were on your way out of his room, just as you were about to slip out of his grasp, he tightened his hold on your wrist, causing you to look back.
When you did Steve took two quick steps toward you, lifting a hand to hold your face while he pressed his lips to yours in a quick swift motion, holding you there for a moment before slowly letting go.
"Knock em' dead sweetheart," he whispered, so close you could practically feel his words. You nodded, pressing your lips lightly to his one last time before leaving the room.
Surprisingly, the hearing didn't go terribly, you managed to get a reduced fine considering the circumstances and the government took your many years of service to the country into account.
The sun was just starting to set as you pulled out your phone as it buzzed, Steve's caller ID blinking on the screen.
"Hello?" you answered.
"Hey, they let you go yet?"
"Yeah, was just going to head out," you nodded and lifted a leg over the motorcycle, straddling the seat.
"So do you want to meet me somewhere?" Steve asked. "We could go to Charlie's,"
"Charlie's sounds good," you agreed. "So I'll see you there in a bit."
"Yeah, see you in a bit."
You hung up and zipped up your phone in your jacket pocket, and put the keys in the bike and headed off into the street, twisting and turning down the streets until you got to the restaurant.
"Steve! Stop it!" you chastised with a hint of a chuckle, "It's late someone's going to hear us,"
"So what," he chuckled against the skin of your neck, holding you firmly in place from behind while he placed a trail of small kisses along your shoulders, the elevator slowly but surely was making its way to the top floor.
"So what? Steve, you know how sensitive they get, they'll be offended we didn't say something."
"Say what?" he asked with feigned innocence.
"Steve you know perfectly well what," you wrestled yourself out of his grip so you could face him. "We should tell them first,"
"Now tell them what exactly," he said seriously this time. "I don't think we've even had a moment to tell ourselves if you catch my drift."
You nodded in understanding, pressing your lips in a thin line, wondering what would be best to say.
"Well, what do you want this to be?" you asked. "Cause I prefer to know if I'm wasting my time,"
"I-I well, I was kind of hoping you might be in this for the long haul," Steve noted. "I've learnt the hard way that waiting around and doing nothing it's not going to get you anywhere, so I don't plan on using my time with someone unless I think it's worth it, and Jesus Christ (Y/N) if you're not worth it, I don't know who is,"
You shook your head and couldn't fight the smile making its way on your face. Closing in on the small distance between you and him, you reached a hand out to fiddle with his shirt collar while saying,
"I mean I guess you're worth it too,"
Causing him to chuckle and look up at nothing in particular.
"So what do you say (Y/N)?" Steve said softly, bringing his face down to yours, his nose grazing your cheek before resting against your own nose. "Do you want to do this?"
You simply nodded your head, tilting it upwards slightly so Steve could press his lips firmly on yours, right as the elevator bell rung and the doors opened to reveal Sam who was half asleep until he saw the sight in front of him, prompting him to rub his eyes, hard, to see if what he thought he was looking at was really there.
"Ahem?" he cleared his throat loudly, causing you to push yourself off Steve and fall flat on the ground of the elevator while the doors closed again. A few seconds later they opened and Steve was nervously chuckling while you were rubbing the back of your head. "So were you guys planning on telling anyone you're tonsil tennis buddies?"
"W-We were just going to tell you guys," you insisted. "I-I mean we were, weren't we?"
Steve nodded, "We just needed to talk first," he nodded, still pressing the button to keep the doors open. "Sort things through."
"Doesn't look like you were doing much talki-ow! Did you just charlie horse me!?" Sam exclaimed looking down at you.
"Yeah I did," you nodded, finally standing up. "You know why? Cause our relationship," you motioned back and forth between you and Steve, "doesn't have to be public knowledge until we want it to be. Everything's new and confusing and sometimes you just want a minute. Okay,"
Sam nodded and pulled you into a hug, apologizing and you didn't hesitate to hug him back.
"See I told you they'd be sensitive," you told Steve and he chuckled.
"Yeah but you never said you'd be,"
"Watch it Rogers," you warned, voice muffled by Sam's shirt.
When you let go, Steve instinctively pulled you towards him, arm wrapped around your back and holding your waist, like that's where it was meant to be, it fit like a perfect puzzle piece.
"Seriously though guys," Sam said. "I'm happy for you, I think this is good for you both."
"You're not the only one that thinks that," you chuckled thinking of Natasha. "Oh shit Natasha!" you groaned.
"Oh shit Natasha what?" The redhead asked, walking into the room, scratching her head as you and Steve both finally got out of the elevator.
"Um, well I took your advice," Steve nodded. "Asked (Y/N) out to dinner."
"Oh, that's great!" Natasha suddenly became more awake, smiling at you and pulling you in for a hug. "Two months late but still great, and what did I say,"
"Yeah, whatever," you waved a hand dismissively at her.
"Just promise me I won't have to propose for you huh Rogers," Natasha smirked and gave Steve a light punch in the arm.
"Capsicle's getting married?"
"Tony, stop it with the nicknames," Pepper scolded.
"Says you, your name's not even Pepper," he countered.
"Yeah thanks to you," she rolled her eyes. "Any particular reason we're crowding around the elevator?"
Sam and Natasha sent a look over to you and Steve and you both let out soft sighs, it was going to be a long night.

Favourite colour, music, film, anime? I'm curious
Uuhhh, sorry for the wait, this ask has been waiting in my inbox for a lot by now, but let me answer you. Some of these answers are really long, so I marked them with a title in case people are not interested in everything. Though, I don’t think many people would be interested at all, my life is not that eventful.
Favorite Color
My favorite color is black (even though black is not technically a color, damn you art school why did you have to teach me that), closely followed by blood red and silver.
Favorite Music
My favorite music... I don’t really understand if you’re asking me what genre I prefer, or who do I prefer listening to, so I’ll just go the safe route and answer everything at once.  I love metal (especially power metal, epic metal and folk metal, with a significance preference for its viking sub-genre), and I am in love with Blind Guardian, the first ever band I listened to. I still remember the first song I’ve ever listened, which is “Noldor (Dead Winter Reigns)”. Being a Tolkien fan led me to discover them, and subsequently to fall in love with the genre. Among my favorites there’s also Nightwish, Epica, Alestorm, and I’m baffled by Sabaton and Korpiklaani. I do listen to a bunch more bands, but not as much and I don’t know as many songs.
But it’s not my one and only love. Aside from metal music, I also love classic music (I am deeply in love with a ton of Italian composers alongside the others), dark cabaret music (most notably Aurelio Voltaire, Dresden Dolls and Emilie Autumn, though her style doesn’t really fall into one single category), and I go crazy with anime music and openings.  I appreciate the music of anime so much, even though a lot of people don’t think highly of it, and since childhood I’ve always listened to our “opening singers” (the most important I grew up listening to are Cristina d’Avena and Giorgio Vanni), so I simply cannot stop loving them.  On a similar note, I cannot have enough of movie soundtracks. Composers like Howard Shore, Ennio Morricone, Hans Zimmer... the list could go on forever. I never get tired of their music. Again, videogame soundtracks are on the list of my beloved music as well, especially the music from Skyrim (Jeremy Soule) and Assassin’s Creed (Jesper Kyd).
Favorite film/movie
I don’t really have one favorite. I do have a list of movies that I could watch over and over again, though, and others I just have fun watching even though they’re not my favorites.  The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit trilogy are absolutely on the top of my list. As I said, I’m a huge fan of Tolkien, and I’m also a huge fan of Peter Jackson. Add them together and BOOM! I am a tiny bit bitter about the Hobbit movies, but seriously? I still loved it.  Right after them there’s ALL the movies by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland and its sequel on top. I love Tim Burton, so much I cannot even explain it. And Alice in Wonderland has a very special place in my heart.
[story time, you can skip if you want]
Not just because I love the story and the craziness of everything, but because back in high school (my last year) we decided to do Alice in Wonderland with a twist for our theater lab, and I not only got to write the entire script, but also to play the Cheshire Cat alongside all of my friends. My best friend was Alice, my other best friend was the costume designer, a lot of other people I knew and loved were the other characters. It’s such a delightful memory for me that I never stopped enjoying Alice in Wonderland from that day onward.  I got so involved with my part that I ended up making an entire steampunk-ish cosplay of the Cheshire Cat from scratch, a cosplay I brought two times to a convention and I’m currently renovating after taking it apart. This is how much I grew attached to that play and to that character.  Some years ago, before this, we had a director guiding us for two years of theater lab. A delightful man that looked at me and decided I needed to be addressed as “Alice” because of how much I reminded him of her.  It’s just good memories.
[end of the story time]
I also have the “classics”, like Harry Potter, Star Wars, and the like. If it’s fantasy/sci-fi/something along those lines, I probably love it. Regardless of who made it, being it the writer or the director.  One particular movie that holds a special place in my heart is “The Fall”, and I cannot really pinpoint a reason why I love it so much. I just do.  There’s many titles I can tell you, even more serious ones like “The Imitation Game”, “The Danish Girl”, or “Dallas Buyers Club” and “Fight Club”.  Even though I prefer fantasy themes, there’s significant exceptions.  Old Italian movies are among my favorites too, but they’re just a drop in the ocean.  To close this, I’m going to bring you my love for the entire “Night at the Museum” ordeal and the entire “Jumanji” series (as of now, but I will never love anything more than the original).  I get really excited when I get to talk about this kind of interests, sorry T_T
Favorite Anime
Oh boy.  This sounds like it might be an easy one, given the nature of this blog, but it’s actually not.  In fact, I forgot Saint Seiya was my favorite anime.  You see, I originally watched it when I was nothing but a child, with a memory that obviously wasn’t so good at the time. This eventually led me to forget about how much I loved Saint Seiya, even though its characters never left my mind, and I started gravitating more towards Yu-Gi-Oh!, especially 5D’s. For the longest time I was convinced my absolute favorite was Yu-Gi-Oh!, until I finally started re-watching Saint Seiya and got hit by the memory train.
But let’s not wander too far away from the question. What’s my favorite anime? Of all time is Saint Seiya, hands down. It has so much to offer, so much diversity, so much story and so many characters. Here in Italy, it has one of the most unique dubs of all time, with dialogues that are aulic (for the Italian fans who are curious --> l’origine del registro aulico dei Cavalieri dello Zodiaco è stato deciso da Enrico Carabelli e  Stefano Cerioni ed è spiegato in questo video, ed è poi stato mantenuto da Ivo de Palma nella serie di Hades) and filled with quotes from authors like Dante Alighieri, Ugo Foscolo and more, an “oddity” that made me fall in love again and again.
Aside from this, I have another list, because I honestly cannot bring myself to choose only one.  Above all are Yu-Gi-Oh! (in order from best to worst for me --> 5D’s, Duel Monsters, GX, ZeXal, Vrains, Arc-V), My Hero Academia, and Sailor Moon.  Honorable mentions are Attack on Titan, Black Butler, Another, Pretty Cure ( spent basically my entire childhood/teenage years watching them, my favorites are the first two series), One Piece, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Beyblade, Tokyo Mew Mew... this could go on forever.  I’m a sucker for “old” anime as well, so a lot of them are mostly from the 70′s, 80′s, 90′s. Some of them I was so little when I watched it, like for example Card Captor Sakura (I was like three years old and I dressed up as her for Carnival), that I don’t remember them but they still have a place in my heart.  I wasn’t even fixated on one genre and that was it, I watched the hell out of anime and I still do (when I have time).
I do also watch yaoi (shame on me, I know), and since I’m here telling you about my favorites: I love Dramatical Murder, especially (and you might not believe me) for how creative the story and the worldbuilding are. I’m also shameless enough to have watched the entire game in all its incarnations, so there’s that.  Not only that, I’m shameless enough to have watched more explicit ones, but I’m not telling you ;) I have a reputation here, after all.
This took a long time for me to answer, and I’m sorry. I legit looked at this in my inbox, tried to conjure up some will to write, failed and went back to bed or to my books. Rinse and repeat for an entire week.  And to all of you who actually made it through this entire thing without getting annoyed/bored, damn you’re determined.

A Spoiler-Filled Review of The Last Jedi
So, I thought I'd try to talk a bit about my specific thoughts now that people have had some chance to see TLJ now. Obviously this requires divulging major spoilers for the movie. I'll put them under the cut, but since readmores don't work in every situation, I'm also adding these spolier warnings to help anyone who wants to avoid spoilers.
Also, just so anyone reading this knows what to expect, I am not overall fond of this movie.
Spoilers for The Last Jedi below!

What I liked:
*Space battles are well done. Star Wars is where it's at if you want exciting space battles.
*I cried when Paige Tico died. So kudos to the first and last time the sequel trilogy has made me cry.
*Look, I don't care how weird or unrealistic the space Leia scene is, I have been waiting one million years for Leia to display Force sensitivity in the movies, so I will take what scraps I can get. So this scene is beautiful and amazing and a masterpiece.
*porgs
*Crait--an excellent planet design.
*That one guy that just says 'Salt'.
*Finn fighting Phasma.
*Finn saying he's Rebel Scum when phasma calls him scum.
*Rey saving the day by using the Force to lift rocks.
What failed me:
* 'it's about failure'--I just found this depressing, not deep.
*anytime a black, latino, or asian person is slapped in this movie. Oh, wait--that's all the times anyone is slapped in this movie. So basically, anytime anyone is slapped in this movie.
*Character Mark Hamill plays possesses neither the heart nor soul of Luke Skywalker. Not only do I not buy him almost murdering his nephew while he's sleeping, but I don't buy him abandoning his friends and Leia just so he can be a depressed old man on an island--like he made a mistake so now literally nothing matters? This is not a logical or meaningful progression of the character. It's removing his unique characteristics so he can fit in a stereotypical 'jaded old man' box.
*Training scenes between Luke and Rey--lol, what training scenes? Not Rey's fault she has to be self taught since no one will actually teach her anything.
*The whole plot with Kylo Ren and Rey Force Skyping. No, I am not at all interested in seeing Rey become a plot device to further bolster Kylo Ren's character development.
*Which, by the way, every character who interacts with Kylo behaves the way they do not from the characterizations they were given in earlier episodes, but merely to bolster Kylo Ren's character development.
× Luke--bitter old man who tried to kill Kylo Ren because otherwise how are we gonna make anyone feel sympathetic for Kylo?
× Rey deciding she can save him, because that ended awesome for Han, right?
× Snoke for apparently being able to see into Kylo Ren's mind, having his full attention on Rey and Kylo, but not noticing he was about to be murdered by Kylo. I mean, to contrast with a scene that actually made sense, Palpatine was totally distracted with Force frying Luke when Vader made his decision to off him.
*Snoke was not particularly insulting to his underlings in the first movie, whereas he spends almost all his scenes in this movie insulting them. Like, I won't say TFA Snoke was a good guy, he was obviously incredibly manipulative and evil, but he was manipulative and evil differently than this Snoke. I feel like the change was again an attempt to garner further sympathy for Kylo Ren.
*Also Snoke said he wanted to finish Kylo's training in TFA and that is never addressed at all in this movie.
*And we could have at least had a solid neck slice kill Snoke instead of simple lower body amputation. Like apparently the greatest, most powerful evil the galaxy has ever known has nothing on Darth Maul, right?
*movie spends too much time telling things through dialogue and weird mental voice overs instead of showing them. For example, I would have much rather have seen Rey have a Force flashback that shows what happened before the scene in TFA where she's left with Plutt than just some weird mirror scene and Kylo being all 'yeah, your parents were losers who didn't love you'.
*movie spends too much time showing the Resistance tripping over their own feet and infighting to spend much time on the conflict between them and the First Order. The Resistance are the underdogs at this point. The conflict should therefore be focused on them escaping The First Order.
*none of the humor was particularly clever--just stereotypical movie humor. The exchange between Poe and Hux at the beginning just fell flat for me, to give an example. None of it seemed very Star Wars-like either. TFA doesn't have very Star Warsy humor either, but I feel it's cleverer than this.
*DJ isn't even named in the film--like his character is vital to Finn and Rose's storyline arc but the film doesn't even take the time to name this depressingly cynical character.
*So we're freeing space horses but not child slaves today? Um...
*I resented how much this movie tries to force the viewer to care about Kylo Ren so much that it kind of caused me to dislike the character even more than I originally did.
*And as much effort as the film spends trying to build up Kylo's character we don't learn anything about his past. Like, what was Ben Solo even like as a person before he became Kylo Ren? Who knows--not Rian Johnson, lol. We learn more about Anakin in A New Hope than we know about Kylo pre-TFA.
*Where's the Knights of Ren, lol?
*What is Hux even for?
*There was no stormtrooper uprising triggered by Finn.
*They promised us no one would be eating porgs. They lied. This is truly--the ultimate betrayal.
