3. What fandoms do you write for? Right now I’m writing mainly for Oz and 成化十四年 (if you count a very slooooow moving WIP). Other fandoms: X-Men comics, Hamlet, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead, HxH, Need for Speed, Avengers, 狂飙, TWD, and Nikita (lol). I have also written for a couple fandoms that I left behind in my ffnet days/orphaned works for on ao3.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Once I actually started participating in fandom, I realised that this was something people strive to do, so I try to respond more now as well. Previously I did not respond to comments because I didn’t like how Ao3 counts author comments in the number of comments/reviews a fic had. I used to want to know exactly how many other people commented on my fic, probably because I got so few comments lol, and then it was just a habit not to reply. I try harder to reply now because I also like it when authors reply to my comments :)

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? LOL major character death fic, When Tomorrow Comes, EASILY. I legit cried while cooking when I was making dinner during the time that I was writing this. The masochism was real but the sadism was realer (making the group chat reap what they sowed lol)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Hm! I have a couple that are rather fluffy but I would say the harder the rain, honey, the sweeter the sun (yeah yeah... hozier lyric title. sue me). They get married~

8. Do you get hate on fics? I tend to write small ships and rarepairs, so I think that’s sort of impossible tbh. I did get flamed a couple of times on ffnet back in those days, but... the joke was on the ppl flaming me, probably. You were expecting greatness from a 12 year old.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind? I write really cringe explicit scenes (not on purpose... that’s just how they turn out imo) but I've nver written pwp or anything.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? We shan’t speak of it and you’ll never find it, either.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of… again, I don’t really write stuff that gets on anyone’s radar, I don’t think.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! I have had 5 fics translated into Russian and one translated into Chinese! <3

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? The crossover that shall not be named.

14. What's your all-time favorite ship? I know my url is literally rongzhi but believe me when I say I don't have one lol

15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? (puts head in my hands) I don’t want to way I won’t finish things but I have multiple rongzhi wips still on the back burner (I’m committed to finishing at least ONE of them for sure)… Ugh, but of the fics I've already started posting, I doubt I’ll ever finish The Nineteenth Year of Chenghua or after the autumn breeze. Sadly, I was a little too ambitious about starting both multi-chapter fics. I’m more broken up about the former though, because it is EXACTLY my cup of tea… as a reader! Lol. I don't know... Maybe... I have bits and pieces written but 🙄

16. What are your writing strengths? I wanna say uhhhh dialogue?? According to trusted sources (much screaming and cursing), I have also been known to write some pretty devastating angst!

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Description for sure… Plot… sometimes, if there is one… Probably not the best…

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I'll write other languages into the dialogue of a fic if it's in character/appropriate. I don't see any issue in that—only issue is for ME... if I don't speak the language, I have to research how to make it not sound too machine translated, because I know how silly that will come across to native/fluent speakers if they read it. Even for my cfandom fics, there are some words like honorifics that I just romanise because I don't like to translate them to whatever the eng subs say.

19. First fandom you wrote for? I wrote Harry Potter fanfic in third grade before I knew what fanfic was, I guess. And then I wrote Harry Potter x Twilight fanfic in middle school once I did ... No, I do not come from noble beginnings... No, the HPxTwi crossovers are not the one that shall not be named. I also wrote a lot of X-men (comics) fanfic before I knew what fic was!

20. Favorite fic you've written? HMMM… Kind of partial to Bolt From The Blue (Is it bc Susu has gassed me up about it so much? Who can say?) (jk, I am very proud of that one and I did enjoy write it a lot!). More recently, I really like writing In the Blink of an Eye, just because it was in 2nd person which I haven’t written since my Homestuck days (you’ll never find those fics either). It was just fun to write!

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Uhhhh no one can hurt you now is pretty angsty and bittersweet. I haven’t finished i was so ahead of the curve yet but rn it’s very angsty.

8. Do you get hate on fics? No, I’ve been very lucky on ao3! I did one time like 10 years ago on fanfic.net and that wasn’t fun. I just sometimes get demands for updates which isn’t “hate” but I would appreciate some patience sometimes…

9. Do you write smut? I dabble on occasion! I definitely don’t feel confident in that department yet so it’s something that I’m still working on.

10. Do you write cross-overs? Not currently, no. I did one time a very long time ago.

11. Have you ever had a fic translated? No, I one time gave someone permission to translate The Progression (I think into Russian?), but I don’t think it ever happened.

12. Have you ever cowritten a fic before? I have not because I’m afraid of being an unreliable co-writer lol

13. What is a WIP you would like to finish but doubt you ever will? I will never finish my HP wips and I have made peace with that

15. What are you writing strengths? I have been told that I’m really good at writing yearning 🤌🏻 And AUs are kinda my thing

16. What are your writing weaknesses? *sigh* I’m a perfectionist so I’m incredibly slow. I will write and rewrite a paragraph to death before I can move onto another one. It’s just not an efficient way to work, and I’m trying to move away from it and let myself write and then edit later. Dialogue tags sometimes bewitch me.

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I respect and admire the hell out of anyone who writes anything in a language that is not their native tongue - all of you are rockstars! I only know English so I don’t see myself writing in another language (more than random words here and there anyway) unless I had a ton of assistance.

19. Favourite fic you’ve ever written? i was so ahead of the curve fills me with immense pride, but I’m also overtly fond of even if it’s just pretend. I guess it’s a bit of a toss up. I also wrote (a loooong time ago) a semi smutty bodyswap HP fanfic that is so weird but I still love it haha.

I used to dabble in writing voltron fic years ago, and that makes up the majority of works on my ao3 but currently writing for The Owl House and I’m hoping to outnumber the Voltron fics on my account with other fandoms 😎

Lmao uhhhh since I only have 4 published, I’m just gonna say the top two tbh 😅😅😅

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

Yes!! I love responding to comments! I want to discuss things with people reading my fics and (especially in the case of Ashes), I wanna see what my readers theories are on what’s going to happen. It’s one of my favorite parts of having people who read what I write!!

If you’ve ever left me a comment and I haven’t responded, don’t be discouraged. Sometimes I just don’t know what to say beyond a giant thanks for reading. 😅 And sometimes I won’t reply if my last reply was a teaser

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Uhhhh so if I had finished it, it WOULD have been the untitled Bungo Stray Dogs Heathers AU fic I got like 75% of the way done writing and then abandoned.

But other than that I don’t have any with an angsty ending—oh wait no ¡Viva La Gloria! is technically a published fic in my ao3 isn’t it?

The planned Elowyn piece I have is something my girlfriend and I came up with together. So I have co-authored concepts

The first two or three chapter of Ashes, besides the prologue, there was a LOT taken from the discord RP that I’d originally come up with the plot of Ashes for. I had permission from that friend to use them. And I heavily, HEAVILY took out and then rewrote their portions (namely the Raine parts of the chapters “Moving Day” and “Hexside” bc the rest at the time were my characters). Their original writing has been scrubbed and a lot of Raine’s character and story arc has transformed into something else entirely. Pretty much all that remains is that they were the one who came up with the idea that Raine was Manny’s sibling. If they read it, they could probably still see the bones of what they wrote if they squint. But by the time Luz hits Eda with the door in “Hexside,” they’d already moved on from the rp. So it was very easy to rewrite around their parts and just reuse the posts I that I had written for those chapters.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?

Oh jeez.

Either the untitled Bungo Stray Dogs Heathers AU that was never posted anywhere, or The First Golden Guard.

Pretty much The First Golden Guard i have just notes scribbled out of the plot, what I think the first chapter is, and some various bits of dialogue from different moments in the fic. But then I started writing Ashes and that took over my life, and now I really want to write The Caleb Files, and the bonus stuff that got cut from Ashes. Plus the Elowyn fic. so I just don’t know if it will ever get written now

16. What are your writing strengths?

Description and voice.

I really love getting a little flowery when describing action or setting while writing. And in the case of setting in particular, I think I have a more natural ability.

I also really strive to make sure each character’s own unique way of talking comes through in their dialogue. Maybe not always when the narration makes the reader privy to their thoughts and emotions, but at the very least, their dialogue does.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Bro just cannot stop yapping!!

I actually genuinely do believe my greatest weakness is my inability to shut up sometimes. I’m sure if I go back and reread Ashes from the beginning, I’ve said the same shit multiple times.

Also sometimes I just get repetitive!! And I use certain colloquialisms like “just,” “after all,” and “as if” FAR too often.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

sigh.

I am a latinx person who lived through the VLD fandom… I have a LOT of opinions… and I have seen some bad Spanish dialogue written by non-Spanish speakers… the kind of shit that stands out to even me, when I have little verbal fluency.

Here’s the thing: I am not AGAINST anyone writing another language of dialogue into their fics. I actually do think it’s a good thing.

HOWEVER!!!

If you are a person who only speaks one language—if you’re a person who kind of doesn’t know what I’m talking about when I say ‘code switching’ or only understands the basic definition of code switching—I am BEGGING you to try and have someone with more experience in that language than you to proofread those dialogue sections.

The amount of times I’ve seen weird moments where the code switching didn’t make logical or emotional sense for the character beyond the author’s “I want to include Spanish here” is innumerable. And that’s not to say code switching needs to have a deep, profound reason all the time—sometimes code switching happens bc there’s no word or phrase in one language that directly translates from the concept or emotion you know how to describe in another! But from what I’ve found, there are a lot of people who understand code switching in concept (and that it’s important for representation) but not in practice bc they simply have no firsthand experience with it. I don’t blame them, though! It’s a hard thing to understand on description alone! Unless you’ve experienced it before, I don’t think it’s something you can fully comprehend. And it can stand out. You can even think you’ve done it right on technicality, but it falls flat.

A tiktok in how to spot AI images I once saw said “AI understands that a mirror, or stairs, or chair legs have to be there there, but it doesn’t understand why it functionally exists or what purpose it serves” and therefore it makes mistakes by adding twelve stairs on the right and fourteen on the left, or five legs on two chairs that are somehow sharing them, or mirrors won’t show the correct items reflected back. I’ve seen many well-meaning fic writers (and published authors!!!) do the exact same thing with language switching. They understand that it should be there, but not functionally why.

Also a basic “don’t rely on google translate” here….. but also a less basic one: different cultures of a shared language are gonna have different turns of phrase and different slang. I’ve also seen a lot of fics that have Lance (a Cuban character) using Mexican slang or words. That’s always awkward.

There’s just a lot. I could go on about this forever but I think I pretty much covered it all.

Ever?! Lmfao Harry Potter when I was a young teen. I didn’t understand what I was doing at all and only did it because my older friend who knew I liked writing my original stories at the time said that I should try writing fic.

I didn’t even have a plot or anything. I just genuinely thiugh fanfic was writing your little self insert OCs and perpetually playing with them in a dollhouse made of your favorite thing 🤡🤡🤡

20. Favourite fic you've ever written?

Wholly and completely, without a shadow of a doubt

It’s genuinely the first fic I’ve ever written where I have actually wondered if I was better off writing it as an original story and going the publishing route. Unfortunately for future me and fortunately for you all, I’m way too attached to the characters as their original names and incarnations to do that 🤣

It’s also the first fic I’ve ever written where I went into it already knowing every piece of the puzzle and having all the clues laid out to perfectly set them up ahead of time. I’m very proud of that and I long for the day where someone rereads Ashes after it’s over and discovers the tiny things in the extremely early chapters that were hints towards the end.

The Cart Titan slowly opens her eyes, finding herself engulfed in a familiar smoke. However, as soon as she sat up, she groaned in pain, with her hopes to get out of the mysterious gas.

"Relax, it's not going to kill you," You explain to her

"Then what the hell are you doing to me?!" She demands to get an answer out of you

Damn... Even angry that sounds hot...

"Healing you," You answer, calmly

A figure turns from the window to see who came through the door.

"You-You can heal too?" She asks

She sits in your cloud of smoke, inhaling it. Compared to how you manipulated it back on Liberio, it was so much more bearable than last.

"Yeah," You say, "I can manipulate smoke to whatever the hell I want it to do."

"Can... Can anyone else do it?" She asks

"My best friend, 2nd in command to the Survey Corps, right below Hange Zoe, can fly," You explain, “Basically a bird.”

“How did that happen... For the both of you?” She asks

“Let’s just say there were a handful of experiments done on the both of us,” You vaguely explain, “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to report to Tenkuji as of right now.”

“Who’s going to watch me?” She asks as you turn your back towards her

You stop in your tracks.

“You understand how those devout followers of Eren Jeager will just simply go with whatever they want because its what Eren would want, right?” She asks

“Is the Cart Titan afraid of death?” You ask

“It’s Pieck...” She finally gives you a name, “And no, I’m more worried about those two kids you also brought in.”

“More like they snuck aboard our ship and killed one of our own!” You begin raising your voice

“You attacked us first,” She counter-argues

“If none of you Marleans sent us off to the damn island where you sent pure titans to slaughter us like cattle, maybe we wouldn’t be at war!” You yell, “That girl who died was my best friend...”

Your eyes widen when you realize your voice is echoing off of the walls of the cells. You clear your throat and regain your composure and begin making your way to Commander Tenkuji’s office like you had told Pieck.

“Relax.., Pieck,” Your voice calms down, turning your head over your shoulder, “We aren’t going to kill them...”

"Commander Tenkuji," You knock on the door

"Yo, Akaime, welcome back," She smiles, "You do know that you can just refer to me as Mikuka right? We were cadets together."

"Still respectable to call you Commander, bird brain," You joke, "Where's the feathers?"

"Lately, they've been a lot harder to put away," She sighs, sitting in the chair across from you, "The more I bring them out, the longer and more difficult it becomes to put them away, to pull off the human look."

"Dude, just let them be free," You say, sitting in the chair across from Mikuka, "Thats what they symbolize don't they?"

Mikuka was someone with a special ability like you. Instead of smoke though, she had wings. The left wing was navy blue, the other was white. She was also able to manipulate each feather telepathically.

"Yeah, but after getting recruits after the Battle of Shiganshina, they've been blowing it out of proportion," She groans, "Enough about me, I did speak to Hange earlier, aside from whom we've lost... Including Sasha.... What else happened?"

"I uhhhh..." You begin, "Was able to capture the Cart Titan. Shes in one of the cells in the basement right now."

"You've managed to capture a shifter?!" She asks, suddenly invested, "Nice. But I also take it the soldiers who went wanted her dead then and there?"

"Floch especially," You say, "He was about to make a move until I square punched him in the jaw."

"Oh man that guy doesn't know when to chill," She chuckles

"Hange gave me full permission to have her under my guard," You add

"Thats fine by me, I give you full permission as well," She replies

Mikuka stands from the chair and begins making her way out of the office.

"That's... Not the sole reason why I snagged the Cart Titan," You turn your head over your shoulder

"Oh?" Mikuka stops right at the door, before her hand even reaches the handle, "Then what was the reason?"

"When she... Yes, She. Emerged from her titan, something in me just... Clicked. I don't know what exactly but... Soemthing in me told me, 'Don't get her killed'." You explain

"Do I sense Akaime Shizumi having a crush?" She teases, walking back over, "But also, you do realize how much of a bad idea it is right? That girl could use it against you the next time you go soft for her."

"I'm aware," You say, "But something in me was just... Telling me to not let her die. You understand that feeling?"

"All too well," She agrees

She sits on the corner of her desk.

"What are you thinking?" She asks, breaking the silence

"I want her to see that we're not all island devils," You say, "Even if there's individuals like you and I who... are practically an embodiment of the devil."

"Isn't she also eldian?" She asks

"But she's on the Marlean side," You add, "I'm sure they've influenced her that we're devils."

"I mean, judging how you two had your first conversation since the big fight, she’s been pretty at ease already,” She says

“She added... That those strong followers are with Eren’s will to free Eldia,” You sigh, “Nervous that they’ll just do something anyway. Especially Floch... You know how he goes nowadays...”

“Ugh... Was never and will never be a fan of his,” She sighs 

Mikuka picks off one of her feathers from each of her two-color wings and hands it to you.

“As long as she keeps both of these somewhere on her person, I’ll hear every little thing that goes on,” She explains, “Even if you’re not there, I will be to notify you and physically be there. She needs both of these together for it to work.”

“You’re the best,” You smile

You walk back down to the cells and appear in front of the Cart shifter once more.

“Did your 2nd in command decide that I was better off dead?” She asks

“Damn before you even get to the talk of death, no,” You say, “Just coming back to give you this...”

You present the two intertwined feathers and toss it to her. The wind carrying it towards her. Pieck allows it to fall into her hand but stares blankly at it.

“Wow... Feathers...” Pieck’s eyes travel up too yours

“It’s from Mikuka,” You add, “So long as you keep these on you, Mikuka will hear from as loud as conversation to as subtle as your heartbeat.”

“Why go through all of this trouble for me?” Pieck asks

“Can’t explain why but... I have this interest... In you...” Wa what came out of your mouth

“I’m not surprised,” She sighs, “You’re not the first one who finds me attractive...”

“N-No! That’s not why I- I don’t know why I-” You stumble over your own words

“Guess you’re the one who is stupid,” Pieck giggles

“Shut up already!” You huff

“You’re actually kinda funny when you’re stumbled over your own words,” She slightly smiles

“Ha ha ha,” You roll your eyes, “It’s because I’m embarrassing the hell out of myself isn't it?”

She nods, trying to hide her smile behind her hand.

“Oh ha ha very funny Pieck,” You roll your eyes once more

“Is this how most of you people from the island act when you bring in attractive prisoners?” She asks

“N-nope. Just me,” You continue talking

Just shut up Akaime...

“Keep acting like that maybe I’ll actually open up to you,” She says

“Y-yeah,” You slightly blush, “Whatever you say...”

Over the next couple of weeks, you had been continuously visiting Pieck down in the cells; bringing her food, keeping her company... 

“Wouldn’t mind if I joined you in here?” You ask

“You got a key?” She asks

“Only a special one to hold shifters like you in,” You say

You slowly begin unlocking the door, watching Pieck very closely, in hopes to not let her take advantage of you. 

“Relax, I’m not going to try and escape,” Pieck sighs, raising her hands up in the air

You shut the door as it ‘clicks’ from the other end. You sit on the other end with your back against the wall.

“You don’t wanna sit next to me?” She asks

“You wanting to flirt while you’re at it?” You joke

“Come and find out,” The corner of her lip curves into a devilish smile

“Listen,” You exhale, feeling your heartbeat skip a few beats, “If this is some ploy to get me to soften up to you, you’re out of luck there Pieck...”

“Well, worth a shot,” Pieck sighs

Awkward silence fell between the two of you; neither of you knowing how to bring up a conversation again.

“You sure are risking a lot of things right now,” Pieck looks at you

“I’m known to take a lot of risks,” You simply answer

“Does that include sacrificing your own people to ensure your own life?” She asks

“That’s their choice,” You sigh, “I'm no captain...”

And I plan to keep it that way...

“So that ginger-haired who runs his mouth about freeing Eldia is captain?” She asks

“Levi would not allow that until his last dying breath,” You sigh, “I hate him... You wouldn’t be surprised if I told you that he actually wants you dead.”

“I’m not... Not in the slightest,” She says

“Didn’t think so,” You reply 

“Getting comfy with the enemy much?” A voice rings out of nowhere

Both you and Pieck jolt at the sudden voice but You ease when it was Mikuka.

“No I’m not Mikuka,” You sigh, beginning to stand on your feet

You knew Mikuka was joking but at the same time, you were beginning to get pretty comfortable with Pieck.

“What is it?” You ask

“Funeral for our fallen in Liberio... Including Sasha Braus,” She says

You follow her out of the cell as you lock the door behind you.

“Will you visit me the same way again?” Pieck asks, out of pure curiosity

“If you’ll allow me that is,” You reply, continuing to follow behind Mikuka

You did keep your word to Pieck; all the things you never found yourself doing when you were with Mikuka, despite that you and her go way back before your days as cadets, however, with Mikuka being 2nd in command in the Survey corps. You felt alone again.

“So... Let me get this right, correct me if I’m wrong... So, You two were the only cadets that had graduated early?” She asks, “All because Noble one-armed blondie, freaky-one-eyed ponytail and the short but very strong soldier had taken an interest in your skills and abilities?” 

“I love how it’s Captain Levi you refer to as a ‘normal’ person, compared to Hange and Erwin,” You let out a chuckle

“Well, I didn't know their names,” She sighs, “I... Don’t think I actually know your name.”

You stupid dumb bitch...

You realized that you were enjoying every little minute you were spending with her, you cease to realize that you didn't reveal your name to her.

“It’s Akaime,” You finally reveal, “Akaime Shizumi.”

“Akaime... That’s actually a very nice name...” Pieck slightly blushes

You listen to her repeat your name over and over to herself. 

“Don’t wear it out Pieck,” You chuckle

“Wasn’t trying to,” She smiles, bursting into a chuckling fit as well

“This... This has been nice,” You confess, “Ever since Mikuka was appointed 2nd Commander, she’s been super busy doing all Commander-y things. She doesn’t mean to but... It’s like I got left behind...”

“I’ve enjoyed it too,” Pieck confesses, “Takes me back to when times were a lot easier.”

“You can say that again,” You chuckle

“Takes me back to when times were a lot easier,” She repeats herself, resulting in the both of you chuckling together

The chuckling ceases when the both of you hear footsteps coming down towards your location. You were prepared to throw hands with whomever was coming down however, ease when it was Mikuka.

“What’s up?” You ask her

“You’re requested for a meeting,” Mikuka says

You immediately get up and begin making your way towards the door however, felt Piecks fingers slightly brush against yours.

You follow her up to the surface and open the door to the conference room and see Hange, Levi, and Mikuka taking a seat, Zeke sitting across from the three of them.

“What’s... Going on?” You take an empty seat

“I think Zeke has royal blood in his veins...” Hange explains, “And we think he and Eren Jeager will plan on using the founder titans powers to activate the Rumbling to destroy thew world...”

“So You and I are going to bring a handful of soldiers and keep a close eye on him,” Levi looks at yu

“Wait... What?” You ask, “Why me?”

“Akaime, your stealth can help transport Zeke if something goes wrong,” Mikuka explains

“Wait, you’re agreeing to this too?!” You immediately stand from your chair

“Akaime, I know we didn’t ask for your say in this decision,” Hange stands, “But, Mikuka is right. You have the best stealth skill on our corps. It’s only right if you and Levi handle this task as a team. Doi I make myself clear Akaime?”

You slouch yourself into the chair as your face scrunches as you look up at Hange.

“Yes... Commander,” You grit your teeth

Mikuka looks down at her fidgeting fingers as you continue to grit your teeth.

Levi was taking Zeke back to his cell before preparing a wagon and supplies whilst, you, Mikuka and Hange remained behind.

“Don’t think I also have been noticing you growing closer to your own prisoner, Akaime,” Hange adds, “It’s best if you don’t get too close to her. You never know when she’s only using it to betray you later. You remember what happened with Reiner Braun, Betholdt Hoover, and Annie Leonhardt... Right?...”

“Yes I remember exactly Commander,” You continue to slouch

Hange makes their leave from the room, leaving you and Mikuka alone.

“You really didn’t ask me how I was going to feel about this?” You ask her

“But you really do have the best stealth skill in the entire corps,” She states, “But, I didn’t really put the idea of you and Pieck growing closer. that part I din’t really care about. But, Hange is right. I’m beginning to see how much spending time with Pieck is beginning to cloud your job as a Survey Corps Scout. Maybe this would be a good time to spend away from her.”

Mikuka gets up and begins making her way out of the conference room, however, you grab at her forearm.

“Promise me one thing Tenkuji,” You continue gritting your teeth

Mikuka looks down at you.

“Should something happen to Levi and I while we’re out there,” You begin, “Or if Marley comes to the island... Release her... Get her back to her comrades...”

“You’re asking me to risk my own damn ass just to protect your little lover?” She asks

“Please...” You beg

“Fine,” She grits her own teeth, “Just because I also 100% support you and her being together...”

“Thanks, Commander,” You say

“You owe me... At some point,” She makes her exit from the room

You were prepping your horse for travcvel until from the corner of your eye; Mikuka.

“Pieck requests for your presence once more before you depart Akaime,” She says, “I can finish prepping your horse.”

You nod as you hand over the reigns to her as you begin making your way to the cells.

“Hey...” You make your pretense known to Pieck

“You’re leaving... Akaime,” She says, looking up at you from her knees

“Sorry...” You scratch the back of your head, “Commander’s orders...”

“Mikuka?” She asks

“No, Hange,” You answer, “Mikuka was supporting the idea.”

“Makes no difference to me,” She slouches

“You okay?” You ask, coming up on the other side of the cell’s bars

Pieck nearly closes the decently sized gap between you., her and the bars of the cell.

“You’re the only one that really showed me any form of decency in here. Who the hell am I supposed to trust?...”

“Mikuka Tenkuji,” You immediately answer, “I trust her with my life. You don’t have to trust her right off the bat but know I trust her. Only her.”

She nods. You begin taking a step back from the cell.

“I’ll come check on you as soon as I come back,” You say 

Before you could turn to make your back back to the stables, you felt a hand grab at your shirt and pull you back. You felt your lips touch another pair of lips; not realizing Pieck yanked you back for a kiss.

“Come back to me alive Akaime. Got it?” She demands, calmly

You vigorously nod as she gently eases her grip on your shirt. As you make your way back to the stables, your brain tries to process the fact you had kissed the enemy; the woman who had kept your mind reeling: Pieck.

i DO live like this and my discord wips are a mess, i have to literally tag names onto the end of them because my writing style makes me not use names for like 300 words so i have to keep shoehorning the characters names in so that i know which snippet it was and it is Awful you would not believe the sheer state of that snippets channel

sometimes rotting is a very necessary part of the creative process!! on occasion you just have to grow moss and become nothing but bones and after a while it’s like Okay i can write now :)

fic writing is so EASY compared to all the context and lore and world building and character growth nd MAN i just wanted to write my silly guys being silly but now i have a doc open to the lore of how gods work so that my stupid guy will make a little more sense!!! what IS this!!!!!! when i write fanfiction i just sit down and recount wow lore to myself for 30 minutes while making beastly noises and then i’m normal again and can write fanfiction!! obviously fic writing is still difficult because of.. the horrors.. but at least i can blame the faults in my fic on blizzard :)

i was about to fight for the honor of my Totally Organized Discord WIPs but then i thought about it and yeah.. yeah. they’re kind of. messy… they all have individual channels and i am too scared to look thru them lest the spirit of my old work come alive to kill me or something

my ships are always so stupidly niche i can almost guarantee you my wip would be the first fic in MONTHS if not EVER for some of these anime fandoms i had one for a ship that didn’t even have a TAG i didn’t even know what to do i was so startled!! on the bright side though by virtue of simply posting a fic it could potentially spur other people to write about it which would be a net gain so… perhaps!

1. Who is your favourite character in 2?

Laura easily. She’s such a sweetheart with a pure heart. Of course she’s not perfect but I understand what it’s like to basically lose parts of yourself and act against your values in the name of self-preservation and I empathise with that.

2. Who is your least favourite character in 1?

Rose. I know that’s a super unpopular opinion but 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just find her whiny, selfish, and annoying. Don’t get me wrong I know she’s supposed to be 19 and that definitely plays a role but I just can’t look past it. Also maybe Simm!Master buttttt that’s just me being a bitter ass bitch about things.

3. What’s your favourite episode of 4?

17x03 (Going Mobile), 15x04 (Skeleton Crew), and 16x04 (Third Wheel). There’s so many to choose from but I’ve narrowed it down to three. These are all ones with lots of content around Jack (my fave character) without torturing her.

4. What is your favourite season of 5?

Season 1 by far. I actually really didn’t like season 2.

5. What’s your favourite relationship in 3?

Y’know I actually don’t have many ships in Once Upon A Time and none of the ones I do have are really serious. I think maybe Regina x Rumple (but I also lowkey ship Zelena with Rumple so idk).

6. Who is your anti relationship in 2?

Oop here’s another super unpopular opinion but I can’t stand MadamFarr. 😅 I love Laura as we’ve already figured out and I really can’t stand Rita or the way Rita treats Laura. I just think Laura deserves better. However, I’ll support it a tiny bit if it becomes canon as I’ll do anything to have Laura’s queerness confirmed on the show.

7. How long have you watched 1?

11 or 12 years.

8. How did you become interested in 3?

I saw an ad for it on tv! But I didn’t wait until it aired here in New Zealand I just watched it online.

9. Who is your favourite actor in 4?

10. Which show do you prefer 1, 2 or 5?

Two (Doom Patrol). But one (Doctor Who) is a close second.

11. Which show have you seen more episodes of 1 or 3?

I would think it’s Doctor Who even if you don’t count the classic episodes. There’s just a lot more of it. I’ve seen every episode of both shows.

12. If you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?

I’m most like Ellie and I ship her with Jack so I think it would be her.

13. How would you kill off your favourite character in 5?

Lmao I would not. Somehow she’s still alive, at this point it seems to me Miranda Croft is unkillable. If she was to be killed off it wouldn’t be a fair fight - maybe one of her many enemies sent multiple assassins (at the same time) to kill her.

14. Would a 3/4 crossover work?

Definitely not. That’s not to say that that there isn’t a place for supernatural/fantastical content in procedural shows (I’m pretty sure I recall Castle having a zombie episode and a time travel episode). However, I think that the NCIS characters would not know what to make of the Once Upon A Time characters and the situations they’d be in and the more they learned the worse it would get. They would find out about these ridiculously complicated families etc and just start calling everyone out. Which would piss off the Once Upon A Time characters and it would all go to hell basically.

15. Pair two characters in 1 that would make an unlikely, but strangely okay couple.

I think Captain Jack and Donna would work well together. The hard part would be getting Donna to give it a chance.

16. Overall, which show has the better cast, 3 or 5?

Uhhhh … neither of these shows are particularly known for their cast as far as I’m aware, although both casts do excellently at delivering the material. In Once Upon A Time there’s two actors I like and in The Flight Attendant there’s only one. So based on that I’d have to go Once Upon A Time. However, I only watched The Flight Attendant for Michelle Gomez but I watched Once Upon A Time because I was actually interested in the premise of the show. So based on that I’d have to go The Flight Attendant. Meh, I guess it’s a tie 🤷🏼‍♀️

It speaks for itself that Bofur loves your hair no matter what style or color, but he’s still a Dwarf so when you wear it short, it takes some getting used to. But to him, all that matters is that you’re happy with it and feeling like yourself. 

Bofur is not an introvert and he tries to get you to come out of your shell as much as he can, as long as you’re comfortable with it. He loves your music and will immediately join you with his flute or provide you with a fitting song.  He adores every song or poem you write him and you can expect he will return the gestures, although his would be a little saucier ;) 

He has no trouble at all with your dominant personality, in fact, he finds it refreshing. You two make a great team, but when you take it too far, he will put his foot down and tell you off for it. It never takes long though and before you know it, that typical smirk is back on his face and he’s teasing the life out of you.

I was tagged by @naralanis and I can already see her grin all the way from where I am xd Thank you, dear, for the tag, let’s see what are my answers, shall we.

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

*bursts out laughing* Adding both pseuds I have… 535 according to the account info but by counting them all I’m reaching 541 so I’m guessing it’s counting some drafts I need to re-find.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

I seriously hated you for this one xd I was going to do it by hand by I decided one-third there that I value my mental stability a little bit more xd according to the stats page back at a03 that number would be 1257884. It may be wrong. I think there should be a few more numbers up there but the majority of my works are one-shots so *shrugs* There’s also the fact that counting my ao3 things only is shaving off like half of it Xd Anyway, can we laugh at the fact that I’m a pain in the ass and that I’ve written a lot? More than I should have, that’s for sure

3. How many fandoms have you written for?

Trick question because I haven’t crossposted everything I wrote back in ffnet and I actually erased some fics from my account back there so the numbers are a little blurry there.

When I had the entirety of my work posted both in ffnet and a03 I had written for: Twilight (Bella/Alice) Glee (Faberry and there were a couple Pezberry and I don’t fucking remember the pairing name for Santana and Quinn), Harry Potter (Hermione/Ginny, Hermione/Narcissa, Hermione/Bellatrix) OUAT (SwanQueen and several oneshots focusing on the mad hatter and the blue fairy solely back at ffnet that were written in Spanish and never translated), I actually had a veeeery old au prompt of Frozen (Elsanna in where I wrote them as non sibilings), Rizzoli and Isles (Rizzles), Dishonored 2 (Emily Kaldwin/Alexi Mayhew), Lara Croft and Wonder Woman, Supergirl (SuperCorp/Supercat) I had a 100 one -or maybe two??- (Clexa), The Shannara Chronicles (Amberle/Eretreia [Or Princess Rover], Rwby [Blake Belladona/Yang], The Worst Witch (Hecate Hardbroom and Pippa Pentangle), The Half of it, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (Madam Satan/Zelda Spellman) and… I think that’s it(?) I may be forgetting some but probably nothing important if I’m not remembering it lol.

4. Top 5 fics by kudos?

Ah, we are going to go there, uh? Xd My works are not the kudos and comment getting type Xd So I was quite surprised when I went to check this.

1: Cracked it I wrote this one back in 2017, it was a prompt done by an anon: Lena is nerding with one of her projects at home, mumbling mostly to herself because she’s stuck and Kara casually mentions how to solve the problem like it’s nothing. I really had some fun with this. It was back when some us, SQeeners were fully doing the jump between OUAT and SuperGirl (I mean, there had already been some crossover as for fandom is related but this when the girls were actually getting their conjoined voice within the fandom)

2: Dateless I honestly needed to check what this one was about but I think I can see why this one shot has the amount of kudos it has. It’s a short and sweet idea and responds to the Teachers Au that went SO well with SQ. Everyone thinks they hate each other and try to set them up with other people whilst they, in truth, are dating. I don’t remember if I wrote them as married rather than dating but despite being from 2017 as well is one cheeky enough to be cool Xd I probably would edit some lines now *shudders*

3: After you I truly didn’t expect this one to be top 3. Makes me think of a lot of things, if I’m being honest Xd. After you was a one shot written almost feverishly as an answer to the fabulous drawings that Sejic did of both Lara Croft and Wonder Woman back at 2018 or something. It’s just Lara and Diana being himbos but not at all with each other.

4: How about… How about is one I remember perfectly, it was my answer to the ending of the Half of it film. I had SOME thoughts about it, let’s just stop there Xd I really liked the film itself but I think and I thought at the time that my response to wishing for a final scene at the very end of the credits responds to me being in a different personal moment than the characters. I really wanted to explore my feelings about it and so I wrote about them finding each other again after some time passes. It was also something I wrote after quite the hiatus so I took it as something I could write about without focusing too much on the why.

5: Come to me

Ahh, SuperCorp Xd I remember this one actually. A friend of mine and I were talking about descriptions, and she mentioned quite off-handedly how she wanted a fic in where Kara’s back was described. I complied… more or less.

Fun tidbit, despite the big volume of my work is obviously set in ouat there’s only 1 SQ fic there as you can see, the others are either SuperCorp or the random one shots I created for Wonderwoman/Lara Croft and The half of it. *sighs in deep thought* I’m also not going to look too much into how almost all of the fics were posted and written back in 2017. Nope, not at all.

*Small voice screaming you peaked in 2017 and everything else is garbage jumps back and forth*

5. Do you respond to comments? Why/why not?

I tend to always respond, yup. I truly value comments. I might have gone for spells of time in where I didn’t have the mental capacity to check in old fics because I truly didn’t know what to answer but I treasure every single comment and you all who comment know that I can start to ramble in the answers xd -sorry about that- I really really REALLY love interaction.

6. A fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending:

Ok, Nara, come on, this one is a catch for me. I’ve written angst in far too many fics to remember the angstiest one :P I have the most recent one, though, that is the easy one to think about: Goodbye.Written for @delirious-comfort. I’m just going to say “Kisses with their last dying breath” as an idea of what awaits inside but I’ve written about death and loss and angst quite a lot. There were some I wrote back to SQ with Regina needing to kill Emma during the Dark Swan arc that, to this day, I still love and some others in where Regina is the one that dies, again and again, trapped by magic while Emma watches. I have the loss in mental destruction form and… I REALLY like my angst y’know xd

7. Do you write crossovers?

Not counting Lara and Wonder Woman not really! I think it comes from the fact that I loooove worldbuilding as a whole and some pairings would require all my focus into making the world perfect which in turn would make me self conscious on the OOCness of it all.

8. Ever received hate on a fic?

*snorts* I’ve received hate due to the pairing I’ve written about, how I’ve written about it, the amount I’ve written, how slow or quick I can be, the usage of some tropes, the lack of usage of those same tropes… Let’s just go with: yuuuup.

9. Do you write smut?

I’ve written smut, yeah! But I can already see the pointed looks of some so let’s elaborate Xd I write smut when asked and sometimes when not asked but there’s a part of me I like to call a terrible tease that prefers writing the beginning of a scene, taunt it, focus on what happens before the sex scene per se as I find it more enjoyable to write. The process of escalation is always the best for me to see what can I do it by using both dialogue and descriptors tbh, so I tend to tease more than show.

9. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

A few weeks ago I’d have said: Maybe(?) But trying to follow the trail of some other fics that had been stolen from some friends -I think it was me trying to find more about the page that stole something from your Nara!- I found some pages in where my fics had been reposted. In some it was stated that the person posting the fic wasn’t the author but I had never been contacted in order to see if I’d say yes to such a thing and in some others the page was locked up but I could still see someone was pretending to be the author. I did the thing and got some of those down.

Pointed note: Ask me if you want to post or translate or anything. I will look into you and answer you if you seem honest about the thing. But despite every joke and self-deprecating comment those 500 and then some fics represent MY time so very kindly I say fuck off to those who wish to steal from me and if I catch you… you don’t really want to see me angry, trust me.

10. Ever had a fic translated?

I’ve given permission to some, yeah, but never heard it back from them so I’m guessing it didn’t stick.

12. Have you ever co-written a fic?

I’ve written series alongside other authors as @stregaomega for example. And some others that are unpublished -looking at you @carsonnieve - I’ve also done collabs… but fics co-written in the sense of two authors same chapters I don’t have anything posted I’m afraid :P

13. All-time favourite ship?

*snorts*, I guess the obvious answer is SQ uh? And I do think they were the ones that allowed me to read and write SO much. The one I feel more strongly about, however, is Bering and Wells from Warehouse 13.

14. WIP you want to finish, but don’t think you ever will?

All of them counts as a valid answer? But if I only could finish one that would be Arcadia. With A forgotten Promise second and the one I did as an Assassins Creed AU third. (I don’t remember the name so there’s no link, sorry xd)

15. Writing strengths?

Uhhhh, you REALLY want me to say that? I don’t fucking know!! To me everything I write is garbage. I always try to go for the feelings so I guess. Dunno xd I’ve been told I’m good at worldbuilding and to be honest is what I enjoy the most.

16. Writing weaknesses?

Everything Xd Pacing? What I hate the most sometimes is dialogue, I would count it as a weakness but I’m always far too focused on description rather than dialogue. I don’t think it’s a bad thing per se but it’s something that I don’t do as much.

17. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

I’m conflicted. Always. Majorly because I think that having bilingual characters in fanfiction is portrayed and expected in a way that I don’t feel it’s honest with how bilingual people -us- talk. So if I go by what I know I do I think it’s not what readers hope to see when it comes to that and if I go for how canonically is hoped to be found I don’t think it’s logical. But that’s me and my overthinking Xd If I have the option I like to do it.

18. First fandom you ever wrote for?

Belice! Or Bella/Alice. Worst first fic ever but oh, well, I’m always saying that :P

19. What’s your fav fic you’ve written so far?

Uhh… Don’t make me do this XD Agh, I don’t know. I’ve always been very vocal about Metallic Ink because I let myself enjoy the process of creating a magic system almost out of zero and that was fun. Despite hating some of the writing process and that I’d do it differently now I think I’m going to stick with that answer. Or anything that had any steampunk-based undertone. To be honest I like more thinking of concepts, I had one in where Emma was a thief and it involved the robbery of a ring that was Regina’s one way ticket to freedom I then later repurposed that I adored thinking about so let’s go with…. Yeah, I love having the option of changing things up a little and focus on how characters would fit in different aesthetics for this one Xd

nessian analysis

im not sure if this qualifies as an analysis? It's basically me just explaining why I didn't like the nessian relationship, what it lacked, what sjm should have done.

I will be using the “anti-nessian” tag bc there are many softies here on Tumblr who get pissy whenever you have some things to say abt a beloved character or relationship that dont paint them as gods even though i dont hate them. I DO NOT hate nessian, I am not the biggest fan of them, im not entirely fond of them, I personally think we were robbed of a much deeper and flushed out relationship, but I do not hate nessian whatsoever. 

also please for the love of god don’t get butthurt and start talking about how feysand is the boring one, how feysand is so vanilla, in retaliation. stop. it makes you look childish. if you hate what i have to say abt your ship, move on. you don’t need to come on a nessian post and start talking about other ships. yes i realize i mention feysand, and rowaelin, but it was to compare how sjm usually writes her main couples.  

with that being said, let's move forward. 

sjm in the past has done an amazing job when writing romantic relationships. She's so wonderful at establishing a friendship, at establishing an emotional connection, before any romance takes place. like with rowaelin, we got to see rowan and aelin forge a friendship, from hating one another to respecting each other. before it was romantic love, it was friendly love first, it was love and respect for their friendship that made aelin threaten that bitch who i forgot the name of but who wouldn't stop touching rowan and aelin bathed her in fire until she stopped. it was the love and respect for their friendship that made rowan fight against his cadre to go save aelin, it was that love that made aelin go to maeve, threaten her ppl so Rowan could be free. 

all of this built up to the amazing relationship that is Rowaelin. it took establishing an emotional connection between the two to make what is their relationship now. the romantic/sexual part of their relationship is amazing as well, but it wouldn't have been amazing were it not for the trust their relationship was built on first. 

it's the same thing with feysand, their relationship built on trust first, on friendship, on emotional talks, on sharing their thoughts and feelings, on sharing hard truths with one another. on feyre trusting rhys with how she felt abt the whole tamlin situation, it built on rhys sharing his past, on sharing some of those horrific moments of UTM, it built on them fighting with one another, it's what made chapter 55 so amazing because it built up. it wasn't just sex right off the bat, it was forging a connection much more powerful than sex. 

which brings me to my main point, that nessian definitely lacks all of this. before it even starts, i know there are ppl who might say “but nessian was building during acomaf/acowar?”  yes, it was, we knew that there was something between them. but can you really call it an emotional build up btwn them? i mean we saw it through the eyes of feyre, so we didn't really see much of substance. we saw them exchange glances, nesta insult cass, cass tease nesta, even that one bonus chapter, but that wasn't enough buildup. because even in that bonus chapter we mainly just got to see cass corner nesta to a wall and learn how he was so turned on by her. nothing of depth and substance. 

you would expect sjm to bring this to their book. but it didn't happen. perhaps she as well thought that was enough of a build up to them, i wouldn't put it past her, her writing skills definitely are questionable in this book.

but where were the talks? where was nesta confiding to cassain abt her mother? abt her life being groomed for marriage? abt the years during the poverty, abt how she felt disgusted by herself for what she had done to feyre. for what she had not done for their family? for what she felt with her fathers death, how she felt abt elain, how she was coping?

where were the talks in which cassian confided in nesta? in where he talks abt his years in the illyrian camps, in what happened in those moments when he murdered a whole illyrian village, in which he learned he would never be able to bury his mother. the talks where he tells her how it felt to be separated from his brothers, how he felt when rhys was trapped, how it felt when feyre was taken, how it felt when he thought him and nesta were to die, at hybern and at the war. 

where was the teasing? the laughing? the pinning each other down during training, the talks during training. where was the friendship being built? just because cass tells nesta he was always her friend doesn't mean it’s not important to see it.

instead all we got was training and fucking and fucking and training. instead we got nesta jacking off cassian 200 pages in? i mean thats so out of character of nesta. this fiery woman who spent three books pushing cassian away, who made it known she ‘despised’ cassian, who made it clear she would not touch or even try to interact with cassian during her stay at the house of wind, but all of a sudden she just loses that and jacks him off? i mean the fact that nesta kept pushing cassian away was such a great opportunity for sjm to take and make it slow burn. teasing touches, never going too far but enough it made the other shiver. i mean that when the pinning each other down in training would have come in handy. but instead sjm just decided to change nestas character just like she changed cassians as well. 

(note: i am not slut shaming nesta, before any of y'all try to twist it that way, i am merely stating how in my perspective that was not something nesta would have done with cassian.

not to forget how cassian would literally leave nesta after their sexual encounters! please tell me i’m not the only one who notices that the cassian from acomaf/acowar/acofas would not have done that. this man has practically been in love with nesta since day one and he just straight up says “thanks for the ride” and leaves? uhhhh what? the cassian i knew and loved would not have done that. i mean him staying after those encounters would have been the perfect opportunity for them to have deep talks, for them to get to know one another. i mean they both claim to know each other, but do they really? 

the mating revelation was soo underwhelming too. i wanted passion, i mean thats what i was promised no? from both sjm and the nessian stans. so where was that passion during the mating revelation? i mean sjm had aelin realize rowan was her mate after rowan was shot, and she felt the fear of losing him. had rhys know fully when feyre was dying and he was trying to get to her. had ferye realize when they professed their love for each other, and she realized she had healed with him. even goddamn lucien and elain knew in such an intense way as well. and nessian? on a sidewalk. with cassian demanding nesta say it, and nesta robotically denying it. 

all im saying is that we were robbed. i like sex between two characters as much as the next person but sex doesn't matter unless there is a deep emotional connection between the two, its what makes chemistry between two characters amazing. 

also lets mention how cassian didn't even say i love you to nesta. PLSSS WHAT WAS THAT

the only part in the whole 700+ page book that actually felt deeper and much more stronger between the two of them was when nesta broke down and admitted she hated herself and cassian consoled her. but that was what? 3 pages and then they proceeded to continue to fuck during their “healing hike” nah that aint it

all im saying is that nessian was much more fun and sexy when it was through feyre’s perspective.

Y’all, I don’t have the ao3 skills for that kinda analysis, oof, the amount of time it took me to figure out the statistics button thingie... but here ya go:

1) i know you flirted with me before (but i didn’t get it right, can i try again) - yes and I know I still owe you a part two, it’s in the works, I promise!

2) the file drawer effect - I’m still quite proud of this one, but honestly, this statistics just shows that the SuperCorp fandom is currently more active, I think

3) Curses, like chickens, come home to roost - it better be on this list, I worked so long and so hard on this one. My first novel-length anything ever!

4) Thin Ice - uhm. I’d almost forgotten about that one tbh. It’s.. been a while?

5) it’s beginning to look a lot like christmas (ev’rywhere you go) - though I feel like this one has to be divided by 12 since it’s a short story collection, which would make my actual rank 5: A New Beginning!

yes, absolutely!! because I love comments and they always make me so happy, and I feel like people deserve to know how happy they’ve made me? But also cause I just like connecting to fellow fans, yay!

I’d say Till Death Do Us Part cause it doesn’t really end happily? But then, canon fixes that one, actually. Apart from that probably the greatest loves of all time were never made cause that’s just canonical angst in extra heartbreaking words..

not yet? But I don’t see it happening tbh..

8. Ever received hate on a fic?

Oof, once I had an issue where I tagged Regina&Robin but some OutlawQueen shippers took offence that it wasn’t their endgame, even though I’d put multiple warnings everywhere that it would be SwanQueen... But I myself barely received hate, it was just a heated discussion / minor shipping war in the comment section. Still made me sad :(

9. Do you write smut?

not yet. I’m keeping my fics T-rated at the highest, although I gotta say, I’ve gotten a lot spicier lately. But honestly, I prefer building build-up to writing actual explicit smut, so that’s probably all you’re ever getting from me, sorry lol

English isn’t my first language, and I do speak several other languages, but nope nuh-uh nah, I just feel uncomfortable writing in any language but English. Only exception can be pet names I suppose..
