I’ve been trying to find a pic like this since S and blonde leaving hotel . I thought then she was a SS employee recognisable even from behind because I believed l’d seen her at promos before . Pic 4 on this post the girl taking pics in the light skirt and presumably black SS T-shirt and same shoes as hotel girl , I think her ankle tattoo would be visible if pic flipped but there’s a man in front of her , her hair is also styled slightly differently . Also the person posting this is the same P ‘source’ who seemed to have stalked S around NYC for at least 2 days and took those pics of them outside the hotel and waited for him on a restaurant patio a few days earlier , so she probably knew all along who the blonde was .

No, that's not the same woman he left the hotel with back then. The woman in this pic is Melanie, one of his team who there. (he's with AN, Chrissy, Melanie and his photographer). Melanie doesn't have tattoos on her ankles, and has not the same posture.

Yes, she's one of P sources, last time she sent pics to P as well. And yes she was one of the women that waited for him on the patio at the restaurant. They've slipped a not to him via the waiter, he could have ignored and not go out to sign their poster though. I'm not taking responsibility for saying she stalked around his hotel. I don't know if she was there. I do have my own thoughts about that, though I rather keep them to myself as I have no need for drama or make accusations just like that.

in 8th grade year of school I wore a boys oversized 4 me dark blue zip up hoodie. I also wore it during the summer. I have a picture of me wearing it at my sisters birthday party @ Johnny rockets 🚀. 8th grade year after school I found a ring 💍 in the girls bathroom with a rose 🌹 gold looking pendant? On it. I did not know about rose gold @ that time probably. I should have turned it on to the office but I didn’t. I started wearing it with in the last 2 years on my left ring finger. I’m not sure/ cannot remember anymore of what I felt when I saw it. I think I might have (1206 am interrupted) had a weird thought that it was a present 4 me? That year I was punched in the head by a girl in 1 of my classes & I remember my vision blacking out for probably a minute. She struck me right on top of my head 2-3 times while I was sitting in a chair. No actually warning. I took it & didn’t complain out loud. I might have written 2 the teacher once but nothing seemed 2 happen. Whenever I tell my mom she said she was never told about it b4. So I guess as an excuse 4 myself 😖 I might have been a little retarded at the time I found it. That same year I think my friend told me my hair looked red in the sun & purple in the shade @ lunch time . Elementary school years my hair was probably black, straight, soft. Sometime after 7th grade photos my hair lightened up 2 dark brown & a little wavy. She is Japanese so she probably watched a lot of anime that the characters’ hair color even though black would have reflective? Colors like red, blue, purple? I think 🤔 I remember that. Going back 2 Brandon Boyd’s birthday 2/15/76, day after Valentine’s Day, if James valentines were a day in calendar & the whole band were 2 dress up as calendar days I’d assign Valentine’s Day 2 James. & Brandon Boyd’s birthday 2 Adam Levine.

I’ve been reading a lot of celebrity!Sander aus recently so how about an instagram famous!Sander that comes across Robbe’s account and becomes instantly infatuated, which leads to him sliding in to his DMs and posting art for Robbe on his page! And this causes problems for Robbe because as someone that doesn’t like attention he somehow becomes Instagram famous over night!

Chapter 1: Sander

Sander was lying in bed, staring up at the ceiling. It was late in the morning, and he’d massively overslept, but still, he felt unwilling to move. His phone was next to him on the nightside and was vibrating nearly nonstop, trying to notify itself into a coma. He knew he needed to check it. But right now, he just couldn’t. He was so tired, so burnt out. If he had to take another half-naked selfie, or do some unboxing video of products random companies had sent him that he’d never use, he was going to lose it. 

He didn’t really understand how his social media presence had grown so spectacularly over the last few months. He’d posted a few of the candid photos his girlfriend Britt had taken of him, and some of his random drawings, and for some reason, people had started following him — in droves. He got hundreds of DMs a day and some new product or another was always turning up at his door. 

It was exciting at first, feeling interesting and admired, but the longer it went on, the more he resented the attention. He and Britt had broken up months ago, so he had to pose stupidly and post his own photos, and art was becoming something he had to do for engagement, not for his own enjoyment. He’d even felt that his following dictated his looks and behavior, forcing him to adopt some on-screen persona that didn’t feel like him. He felt vapid and hollow most of the time now. But the social media collaborations were paying for his rent and tuition way better than his local barista job ever had. So he kept posting.

Finally, he rolled over with a groan, grabbing his phone and bracing himself for the onslaught of messages, comments, and an oversaturated feed. Unlocking his phone, he took in a deep breath as he opened his Instagram app. And groaned. A cursory glance over the more than 500 DMs clued him into the reactions to his latest selfie. They were mostly heart eye and fire emojis, with some “OMG SO HOT” and other explicitly-messaged ones he had to ignore — for his sanity. Ugh. 

He left his inbox teeming with unread messages and returned to scroll absentmindedly through his feed. He only followed a handful of people — despite common belief, it wasn’t because he was trying to look cool and unattainable as an “influencer” (he hated that word); it was because there were really only a few people he actually cared about. A few art school friends, a few music accounts, and that was it. Besides doing his job as a randomly famous IG personality, he chose not to engage. Everything was so shallow and pointless. Lives curated to perfection on meaningless squares, the real life off the screen. But as he reached the end of any new updates, a photo caught his eye. 

One of his school friends had a habit of posting particularly artsy street graffiti he found around Antwerp, usually black and white photos of spray-painted words and stenciled graphics. But this one was different. First of all, it was in color. Bright, intense colors made the image pop. There was still street art, but it wasn’t the focus, taking second stage behind a figure in the foreground. The figure was a teenage boy, but small, soft somehow, even as his limbs sharply angled on the skateboard he rode. He was in the middle of a jump, his eyes focus and wavy brown hair airy around his face mid-movement. 

Sander sat up immediately, rubbing the leftover sleepiness from his eyes, and feeling suddenly warm and breathless. It wasn’t like he was into skateboarding or anything, he wasn’t particularly coordinated, but something about this photo was so captivating, he couldn’t stop staring at it, like the longer he did, some mystery would be reveal itself. The boy looked small, but strong; focused, but relaxed. He looked so...beautiful. 

Sander felt embarrassed even thinking it...I mean, he didn’t even know this boy, and hadn’t even ever been with a boy. But staring at him, he felt his stomach flutter slightly, and his heart quicken. The boy had these soft features, and wavy hair he knew was soft without even having to feel it. Which...obviously, he never would. But still. He just knew it. He sat there, the minutes — or was it hours? — passing by as he stared at the photo, absorbing every detail and shamelessly memorizing the stranger. 

Then, his heart rate picking even more, he acted without thinking. He hit the comment button on the photo, swallowing hard as his fingers hovered over the keys before typing. 

Hey man, cool pic. Who’s the kid? 

Did he sound nonchalant enough? He hoped his breathless eagerness wasn’t evident through the words. God, he was pathetic. But the more he stared the boy, the more desperate he was to know more. Anything more. 

He waited, refreshing his notification page, willing his friend to respond immediately. But no response came. So he held his phone to his chest, laying back down on his bed. It wasn’t until he was drifting off dozily with brown waves and soft smiles lingering at the edges of his subconscious that he remembered he still hadn’t posted for that day. His followers would be aching for new content. But with his last bit of mental energy, he pushed the thought away, letting the boy’s being envelop him in sleep.

(hence will recieve 'positive' reactions and make them more aesthetically believable. without a doubt, its ji and his on going promoted sex appeal.) Reasons for ji and not other members: 1. theres no harm in giving him a beard (personal belief, ignore point 1. if you think homosexuality/kaisoo pairing isn't plausible) 2. to raise his popularity for his potential upcoming solo. 3. if someone who was involved in dating scandal before came up again, they probably predicts the pairing to be more positively recieved --> more supportors and a more hyped response from the public.

but none of that happened, the scandal was managed poorly. The paris evidence was made in a rush (dates didnt match) park pictures were too ambiguous (again dates and time didnt match), even when dispatch posted a pic of ji in a carpark supposedly came back from hawaii to give jni presents after landing - we learned from ji's own ig live that the day he wore the outfit in the photo, he had already returned to korea a few days ago, was around town shopping and went no where near the airport. Besides these failed attempts there was absolutely no other proof that jxk is real.

why was it poorly managed?

bc this is a rare collab between two big rival companies. Yg was the one begging at the start yet sm wasnt able to take full control of this scandal. Conflicts and disagreements upon makng many decisions were highly likely to occur between these two rivals.

The break up

a lot of fans were shocked when jxk broke up just after 25 days. (brand new record). what else is weird?

sm personally confirmed jxk broke up abruptly. Usually when couples break up, fan rumours start to float around first. But not this time, no rumours surfaced yet sm all of a sudden definitively stated that jxk broke up. Back then I already predicted it maybe because yg or bp got into trouble hence sm wanted to distance themselves as far as possible. I still stand by that idea.

Sm must get away from yg and b.sun case for the sake of theirs/ekso's reputation. sm def dont want to be dragged into the mess. Remember, sm as a huge company themselves def have their own dirt to hide, getting dragged means huge consequences if the investigators target them.

so why did sm agree in the first place? I assume its bc altho sm knew that yg had dirt to hide, they did not know it was something as serious, severe and big as b.sun case / tax evading case. Therefore, what are the coincidences that sm announced breakup shortly before dispatch sparked reinvestigation into b.sun by posting crucial evidences? (the first chats)

its highly possible that dispatch warned sm, (which makes them sound like the good guys but no. remember sm is dispatch's source of money and partnered with them many times. b.sun indeed aint directly related to sm, (as for now) dispatch has no reason to ruin sm) Or, sm could have found out through other sources that b.sun case will blow up soon. they quickly cut their collab with yg early, and announced break up probably without telling yg first. (since telling them possibly means giving dispatch away).

this also suggests that dispatch hates yg but anyway.

The benefits of ji

Comparing the two, jni seems to be the one who gained more from the scandal. She got most of media and the public's attention. there is an explanation for this - shes the 'rookier' one, and the trendier one out if the two since bp is still rising when ekso has reached their plateau. However, ji did gain his own lesser share of attention (indicated by the gained followers on his ig).

I have always said that when idols agree to be involved in a scandal, they are likely to get a 'reward.' but now thinking about it, agreeing to scandals is part of ji's contract, rewards are bonus but not obligations. Besides, the scandal itself supposedly helps ji gain popularity for solo and gains a beard, sm didnt NEED to give him more bonus. Often when idols get more modelling jobs / solo etc after scandals is bc sm uses the risen populairty from scandal as an opportunity to maximise profit by giving them more jobs, it might not be bc sm wants 'pamper' them.

Plan cut short

unfortunately for ji who is not getting his solo soon, the jxk plan flopped due to poor management, and was cut short due to b.sun case. The scandal did not fulfill what it was supposed to do and ended prematurely . Followed by the apparent troubles in sm negotiating contract terms with ekso, (delayed ekso schedules),chxn suddenly getting a solo, and the blowing up of b.sun case, ji might have missed his chance again. Or hes simply still preparing.

to summarize i want to clarify a few things.

- none of these are facts, but an overall picture forming one huge speculation.

- I dont try to defame bp or shame them. i also am not trying to state that girl artists def had sex with the hihgher ups. b.sun has shown us that men always have more power over women, and they rarely get protection.

- I want people to realize the dark side of kpop. The kpop industry is full of conspiracies, media manipulation and lies. What you see on tv is not who your idols are portrayed to be on camera. Don't impose your ideal vision on them and hurt others when reality suggests otherwise.

side note: this theory conveyed reinforcement to statements I've made before

- conspiracies are real and true. Look at all the dark and shady events involved in b.sun case

- media play, mass manipulation exist and are common practice.

- dispatch and sm collab and are partners on a case by case basis.

- idols lie on interviews all the time, their tv persona is different from the real them.

- companies offer protection for their idols

- it is indeed common practice to use one scandal to cover another

ANYTHING can happen in the world of the k ent industry. dont lightly dismiss any possibilities. We must analyse the sum of the situations - the full picture of any events before believing anything we are told.

The story.

The story behind the hotel piccies, I mean!

Originally I had no clue where they might even be staying, since Oulu has exactly zero 5* hotels so I was kinda skeptical about JL/SL staying there overnight at all - in fact, I still think they might have only flown into town on Saturday just prior to the gig, but let´s get to that a little later! 😜

Anyway, as I stepped off the train I didn´t really have a plan in place which would have maximized my odds of running into the Letos, so I just bounced around town for a few hours - until I saw that Stevie had posted a snapshot of their hotel´s courtyard and BOOM! I recognized it as one of the central business hotel-type establishments. Not a 5* hotel by any means, but good enough for the crew obviously! 😆

So I chose to swing by the hotel as it was right around the corner, and indeed I was able to spot that errand girl Jackie and some other roadie dude goofing on bikes on the courtyard - and pretty soon SA also swerved in. I didn´t approach any of them because... why would I? Meh. Who cares. 😴

Nothing more seemed to be happening at the hotel tho so I split and went on with my day until a few hours later as I was making my way towards the marina again and I realized that the hotel was once again just around the corner, so I decided to do a little “drive-by inspection”, if you will! 🤭

And whaddya know! Who do I spot approaching the hotel? 😳

Only one of the most fervent...well, let´s just call her a “megasuperduper fangirl”. You know, the type who tours the globe after Mars and does 93 M&Gs per tour etc... 🙄

I´m not naming names here but you all know her and she has been discussed here many times. 😉

Anyway, I see she just waltzes into the hotel like no biggie (I know she didn´t stay at that hotel because she had posted from another hotel a day earlier), which got me thinking that... well, if SHE can just go into a hotel she´s not staying in, then why can´t I? 🤷🏼‍♀️

And thus I boldly followed her in - aaaaaaand almost had a stroke when I glanced at the gaggle of triad shirt-wearing females sitting around on sofas in the corner because among them was ANOTHER “megasuperduper fangirl” who is also very famous in our circles. Again, not naming names but you all know her too... 🙊

Well, “FOR REASONS” I was not about to go over there or hang around anywhere near their little sofa circle so I went and took a seat in the lobby´s kiddie play section which not only offered a power outlet for my phone but also a direct view to the elevators and main lobby. 🤟

After maybe 15 minutes or so, the echie group was suddenly summoned by SMG and led to one of the conference rooms to the side of the lobby. 

Yes I am a bit slow, but only then it clicked why that group was here. The M&G was taking place at the hotel! DOH! 🤦🏼‍♀️

For some reason I had assumed it would be at the festival backstage area like mine was in Getafe, but nope! It was at the hotel - which naturally meant that if the fans were lead to the room via the main lobby, the “band” would be too... 😯

Side note: the M&G group was TIIIIIINY! Maybe 15-18 people tops...

After the group left, mars crew activity in the lobby intensified: Matty Vogel was coming in and out with huge trunks and bags and and and some random roadie was telling him how amazing the sunset had been in Oulu the night before - confirming my suspicions that Matty had not spent the night in Oulu...

And if Matty only arrived earlier that day, I´m pretty sure so did the Letos! 🤷🏼‍♀️

SMG also popped out to the lobby and looked around all confused, obviously looking for someone but failing in it so she went back in.

Then Kenny came down to the lobby reception to ask about the wifi not working (uh oh...), and then asked them for an extension cord and scissors (ooookay...) and MAAAAAAYBE HAPPENED TO DROP THE NUMBER OF THE ROOM WHERE A CERTAIN SOMEONE WAS STAYING...😳

Oh Kennyyyyyy... Maybe keep that information a little more hush-hush...? 🤨🙉

Well, I chose not to climb up and go kick down the door for room 62X because I had already secured a nifty spot on the lobby couches so Messiah was quite safe, I assure you! 🤭

Then Kenny headed to the M&G room right past me - and let me tell you, that tiny lady looked exhausted as hell... Yawning wiiiiidely and looking slightly disheveled while constantly checking her phone. 😣

Soon she returned from the M&G room and headed up, and then in turn that new chick Jackie came down and sat down right next to me (I kept my headphones on and fiddled with my phone but I could still hear her audibly sighing (one of those annoyed-stressed sighs... Gee wonder who might be the cause of such deeeeeeeep sighs...🤔)

Only a few moments later the elevator doors pinged and...

They walked SOOOOOOO close to me, SL legit could have tripped on my foot (that´s my leg/knee you can see at the bottom...) 😂

When the door to the M&G room was opened, I could hear the group SINGING (I think it was WoW but can´t be sure) which is EXACTLY what Reni asked us to do in Stockholm as well, because apparently that would make the band arrive faster...

Childish much? 🙄

Also... THAT PESKY CHARLES MANSON THING JUST KEEPS CREEPING BACK INTO MIND... 😶

Anyway, I decided to double my odds of Letospotting and stayed put for the duration of the M&G, and soon I was joined by 2 Finnish drivers waiting for the band/crew to take them to the festival.

They kept chatting about how the band had ordered food to be brought backstage, but wanted it IN THE MIDDLE of their set, which made no sense to them... 🤔

And me either! 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh except if the food items were also meant for the band´s... special guests waiting in the backstage area...

Hmmm.

Suddenly I heard noises coming from the M&G room´s direction, and I realized the event was over and got ready to get my pap on again...

JL was being EXTRA animated and lecturing Jackie about who knows what...

He def was into it, whatever “it” happened to be. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Interestingly enough, the hotel also housed a girl´s soccer team as well as other randoms, and NO ONE was allowed to use the lifts when the band was on the move!

Can´t risk those germs from normals, obviously! 🤢

MAJORLY IMPORTANT SIDE NOTE!!!!!!

It felt like a really short time that the Letos spent in that room, so I checked time stamps on my pics.

The pics of them walking in were taken at 20:25, and the pics of them walking out at 20:50, which means that THE M&G IN ITS ENTIRETY AKA THE Q&A SESSION AS WELL AS THE PICS TOOK ONLY 25 MINUTES!!!

I shit you not, folks. 😶

TWENTY-FIVE MINUTES.

Granted there were less than 20 people in attendance, but that´s no excuse! In fact, had it lasted the standard 45-50 minutes, the people who had paid $300-700 for that event could have gotten an extremely cool and personal experience with plenty of time for everyone´s questions, general chat and perhaps most importantly: the pic session would not have felt like a rushed cattle drive!

But... there it is. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Twenty-five minutes is all you get for a shit ton of money, guys!

After the Letos disappeared upstairs, I chose to abandon my post and finally head out to the festival grounds (all the M&G folks left too so I figured if they dared to leave their Messiah, I might as well...)

Cut to an hour later, at 22:31 (only 1 minute after scheduled kick-off time whaaaaaaaaat...?!?! 😱), Monolith started booming from the speakers and show got underway.

Nothing much to add about the concert that wasn´t already mentioned in that review I posted earlier... You can still check the recording from the show on my IG for a few more hours! 😉

It really was exactly as lazy and re-re-re-re-re-re-reheated as we all suspected it to be - even down to the inbetween-song quips. 😴

The only memorable differences I could notice were that against all odds, SL's singing wasn't as bad as it has been previously, and that JL has graduated from shirts to hats:

It’s happened againnnnnn and now I have the statistics to show that I’m three times as attractive with my mask on than with it off (this is a JOKE okay I’m slightly significantly somewhat usually less pimply sure and I wear cuter glasses but I basically look the same as I did in high school); it must be the allure + my eyes.  Anyway a guy from choir (new this semester... the sophomore tenor sax guy (who, to be perfectly honest, I didn’t think was straight and I suppose this act does not prove he is entirely tbh)) asked me out after rehearsal today and yknow I gave him my number but like I sure was hoping that I’d have more time to figure out exactly where I sit on Nina’s Sliding Scale of Aromanticism but I guess I don’t.

Okay.  I had a bit of an inkling that this might’ve been coming, but it wasn’t nearly as obvious as that one guy last semester.  Like when we came out of rehearsal a few weeks ago and I was walking with my cello-friend and I took off my mask and he kind of stared?  AND THEN and this is the funny part AND THEN like a week ago I get a follow request on instagram from someone who I not only don’t know but who 1. is mutuals with sax guy (and one other person who I assume is from my uni) and ig tells you connections that you have with potential followers and 2. plays sax in my uni’s marching band.  So of course I’m thinking did.. did sax guy send a friend of his to check me out?  And I’ve only got one photoset (two pics) posted on my ig but I’m tagged in more than that.

I WANT FRIENDS TBH.  BUT I GUESS I’LL BE OPEN TO IT UGH.

(I should clarify that I don’t really feel any romantic attraction but maybe that grows?)

I’m just scared, and I’m not completely sure why.  I think I’m freaking myself out.  I think it’s an anxiety thing, but I don’t even know where to start with the Detective Game????  What facts am I searching for????  Where are my critical thinking and extrapolation skills when I need them?????  And, excuse my language, but this seems like such a dumb thing to feel weird over which adds to my frustration.  And this is keeping me from bringing it up with the friends I have.  Cause like, I think part of it is the whole “I’m afraid of being bad at dating” even though I know you get better at something by doing it (this was last semester’s whole lesson with the solo) and that’s probably what other people are going to tell me too :/

Anyway.  I’m currently waiting for a text.  [UPDATE: TEXT RECEIVED (my most recent google search (2 minutes ago) was asking how long a first date should be and I got no consensus so I’m going with 2 hours)]

This weekend was very busy.  I went to my high school’s spring musical bc my sister was playing in the pit.  They have a new director (after like, idk, twenty, thirty years of this one math teacher doing the shows), and it was cute!  I didn’t particularly care for the show itself, but it showcased some incredible talent (one critique of the old director was that he didn’t select shows that demonstrated enough female talent despite having so much of it available to him every single year) and the sets looked so well-crafted.  I was wearing my mask, so I don’t think any of the seniors (the last class I’d know) recognized me which felt weird.. to be alienated from a group that I put so much time and effort into.  I was president for goodness’ sake.  And I’m just not really the type to announce my presence or anything.  Anyway I’ve been listening to showtunes ever since because they are comforting and remind me of a different time (I need to come up with a karaoke list (I’ve never actually done karaoke lol) but Winner Takes It All is def on there).

I pretty much finished the waistcoat ahhhh!!!  It’s pretty well constructed, I think!  There are, of course, some mistakes, and the only thing I’d have left to do would be to topstitch the edges, but I need a brown thread to match the collar which I’ll get eventually.  It’s wearable otherwise, but it’d be nicer to wash if it was topstitched I think.

I’m ever so slightly concerned about how much I dream about running and hiding from killers. Like, I don’t dream often, not dreams that I remember anyway. But when I do dream there’s a solid chance that the theme will be related to me (occasionally with my sister) running and hiding from people who are trying to catch and/or kill me (us). Normally these dreams have some sort of overarching plot line where it’s not just me they’re after, but my family (last night I dreamed of a coup (and that may or may not have been related to Laudna’s reveal tbh (and speaking of CR, a soprano in the choir also watches it and we freaked out over it at rehearsal today and apparently she has a whole apartment full of critters omg)) of some sort) or friends as well. And I never fight back in these dreams. I just pick a spot and stay put, heart racing, trying to quiet my breaths. Sometimes the killers get close, but I’ve never been found, I don’t think.  And I wake up in a panic.  And I know dream interpretation is pseudoscience nonsense and I know that dreaming is possibly an evolutionarily advantageous way to exercise problem solving skills but STILL.  Freaks me out a lil.

Sky: Children of the Light is absolutely my favorite game right now.  I have and will continue to sink hours into that game; it’s so lovely to play.  You know it’s the first game I’ve ever finished?

Today I’m thankful that my physics prof moved the homework deadline back a week so I can relax a lil tonight (more like so I can be stressed but only over one thing).  Like how there’s the formal for the orchestra in two weeks and I could possibly be someone’s date to that.  Like how potentially dating someone in an org I’m in could be awko taco.  You know, things like that which don’t really matter but regardless will be racing in and out of my mind all night.

THE CYBERSTALKING HAS GONE TOO FAR

I don’t think that ES realize they are taking cyberstalking of Cait and Sam to a whole new level in the past few months. I’m not even sure they realize that they ARE cyberstalking Sam and Cait. So let me try to explain why what they are doing is cyberstalking. I’m pretty sure that Sam and Cait assume that most people will NEVER blow up their photos to see tiny details and then match those details to photos of Cait’s old apartment found on a realtor’s site. So given that, the ES who are doing this are indeed attempting to invade Sam’s and Cait’s privacy and in effect are cyberstalking them. Fortunately Cait has reportedly moved from her own place but this needs to stop. And I pray that no new photos of where Sam and Cait live ever come to light because this should NEVER happen again. 

ANNNNNDDDDD....WE HAVE THE FIST BUMP ONE MORE TIME! 🙄

An ES has done some recent cyberstalking with an old ES “receipt”--the Faux Sam fist bump.  She has taken a small section of Cait’s fist bump photo and compared it to the bed frame of a photo allegedly of Cait’s old bedroom online. From that she made a  “video” post claiming that this is Sam’s fist that is in Cait’s bed. It has 500 notes last time I looked and was “playing” again on a major ES blog. 

Whether or not that’s the footboard of Cait’s bed or just a chair rail on an unknown wall, I don’t know and I don’t care. NO ONE should be examining Cait’s photos in such detail as to try to determine where they were taken. NO ONE.

But wherever the photo was taken, one thing seems sure to me--that was NOT Sam’s fist. And we have a lot of proofs that it isn’t.

First, this is from @moduinne-and-redjamie‘s famous DEBUNK POST about the fist.

Really?! People still believe that? Okay, here are the comparisons

You can see a little mole, a scar on his middle knuckle, and the hair. Okay, so Sam’s IG pic isn’t the best quality to compare-even though that scar is a real breaker on any analysis. I will compare a clearer pic of his hand, which ironically ESs used to show that it was his hand. The red marks belong to an ES, the white belong to me.

Again, on any analysis, you can clearly see that it is NOT Sam!

I also analyzed Sam’s hand and the one in the fist bump. You can see my analysis under the cut.

However, aside from any analysis of small details, to me the definitive reason why it isn’t Sam’s fist is because it is WAY TOO SMALL!  In fact, the fist that is assumed to be Cait’s (the one on the right) is the same size (and some people even think it is slightly bigger).

Sam’s hands are MASSIVE compared to Cait’s.

Below the cut is an analysis I did a while back (02.10.17) of an ESer’s comparison of the fists.

This was Photo Anon’s analysis of the fist bump (her analysis had the red circles; the blue circles were added by myself). 

Okay before we get started, did you notice that Photo Anon’s (PA’s) picture of “Sam’s” fist from the fist bump doesn’t look like the original? It appears that she has changed the contrast, coloring, and/ or sharpness of the image. Maybe she did so for clarity. I don’t know. Whatever, it is clearly different than the original image–and in this case that is important because I believe certain features are exaggerated in her photo because of the changes she made.

Okay, let’s look at this in detail:

PA claimed that “the hair pattern matches.”  Um, no it doesn’t. Sam’s hair is much darker and thicker.

The “long scar down” the “middle knuckle” on Sam’s hand looks IMHO nothing like what PA has circled on the other fist and I don’t see it at all on the original (unmodified) fist bump picture.

The “birthmark just above his pointer knuckle” that PA points out again doesn’t look the same to me and I don’t see it at all on the original (unmodified) fist bump picture.

The “small scar on the back of his hand” that PA describes again to me doesn’t look the same on the other fist and I don’t see it at all on the original (unmodified) fist bump picture.

However there should be a birthmark/ freckle just above that scar that I have marked in blue.  I don’t see it at all in either the modified or original fist bump picture.

She claims that “the mole by his thumb,” which I assume is the mole closest to his wrist (which I have circled in blue) would not be seen because of the angle of the picture. I will concede that point at this time.

There are two moles/ freckles at the back of his hand in the area below his pinky and ring finger that I have circled in blue. Unfortunately the other fist has lots of little freckles there and no two stand out. The same with the untouched original fist bump photo (although those little freckles in the original picture are so light they could just be skin pores).

Looking at all the analyses, to me it is pretty clear that it isn’t Sam’s fist. If ES want to keep saying they think “it MIGHT be Sam’s fist” or “it is debatable whether it is Sam’s fist,” I could accept that. But claiming it is definitely Sam’s fist--nope. That’s a big old lie. That isn’t fair to their followers and especially to newbie fans. (JMHO as a fan.)

Pulling out of the hug slightly, your eyes meet his and your body tingles slightly like it has done since the day you met him. “Honestly, I’m not sure if there is even any point.”

Shawn raises one eyebrow to highlight his confusion, “What do you mean? Of course there’s a point! You could get another job... what’s the movie about?” He questions curiously, whilst tucking your loose strand of hair in front of your face behind your small ear.

“Well, it’s not that I don’t want to audition for the role. It’s the opposite of that actually: I would absolutely love to! I just think that so many beautiful and talented girls are going to audition for this, so there’s statistically less than 0.1% chance that I would get the role.” You tell Shawn, feeling a bit embarrassed and fiddling with your comfy hoodie’s sleeve.

There’s a pause that you weren’t expecting, and suddenly Shawn pulls completely out of the hug and repositions his hands on your shoulders like someone would when they’re about to give their child a stern talking to. His smile never falters. 

“Are you kidding me, Y/N?” Shawn shakes his head and takes a breath, “There are always going to be people out there whom YOU think are more talented than you, prettier than you, skinnier than you, etcetera etcetera. But what you don’t realise, is that so many people out there will think differently. The casting director for that role may unintentionally sometimes have a perfect image in their head of the person they’re looking for to play the part. Those other girls can’t fit into that image every single time. One person can’t play every character, and I personally think that anyone you audition for is lucky to have you there even showing interest to make the effort to be there in the first place.”

How does he always know the right thing to say? You look at Shawn for a moment and then down at his hands on your shoulders; and then back at him, and then back at your hands on his shoulders, hoping he gets the hint that you’re wondering when he’s going to move his hands.

He lets out an outburst of laughter randomly as he realises how weird this would look to someone else watching. Shawn’s about a head taller than you so it looks from afar like you may not be a couple, but a father and daughter. It’s quite humorous actually.

“I love you so much, and I really hope you know that.” You say lovingly and take his hand to lead him over to the comfortable chairs on the balcony of the house you share. 

You move your laptop onto the little table you have out here, and then both sit down heavily and lie back in your seats. He’s had a bit of a longer day than you have being at the studio and all, but Shawn doesn’t care or acknowledge that. Both of you love simply being in each other’s company and chilling out together to destress and forget the world for a while.

A vibration in your pocket makes you get your phone out and check your texts briefly, before then going on Instagram and liking lots of your friends’ posts. Then you make the decision to quickly choose one of your latest selfies, post it and then turn your phone off straight away to get back to relaxing.

Shawn’s phone buzzes when you post it, “Oh I forgot that you have my post notifications on!” You exclaim loudly as you watch him blush.

“Come on, Y/N! I know you have mine on too.” He replies chuckling and his eyes wide in judgement. He gets his phone out too and clicks on the notification from your post. Shawn likes the photo without any hesitation with a small smirk on his face, “You look really hot in this photo wow, Y/N.”

He looks up at you and smiles, triggering the blush across your cheeks he knew fully well that he would cause. You see him typing a comment on your post; thinking carefully about what he should put because he knows that all of your fans collectively will see it. Shawn’s not the kind of guy to comment cringey things that would make you internally vomit, and you’re secretly really happy about that. Watching Shawn closely, you suddenly see him post the comment and then begin to scroll through other comments on the photo.

Swiftly, you grab your phone and go to your notifications to see exactly what he commented on your post, “Aww, Shawn, you’re too sweet.” It says simply, “Wow.”

When he doesn’t reply and is still looking far too engrossed in his phone, you reach over and tap him on the shoulder. “Huh? Sorry, I was too distracted reading BROOKLYN BECKHAM’s comment on your photo.” Shawn says pointing at it in a harsh motion, clearly very shocked and not sure how to react to this.

“It’s literally been posted for 2 minutes how has he seen it already?” You ask Shawn as a rhetorical question, as you’re just as confused as he is. Probably a lot more actually. Brooklyn Beckham? What? You look closer at the comment – “😍😍 omg” 

Shawn shakes his head, “I don’t know, Y/N. But all I can say is that it’s weird to me that he would comment on your picture at all, let alone that, and after only a few minutes. He knows we’re together right? Do you like him? Have you met him before?” Shawn asks you, talking a little bit too fast for it to be casual.

You laugh a bit to yourself, and then instantly regret it when you see the serious expression on Shawn’s face intensify. You squeeze his shoulder, “Babe, I have absolutely no idea why he would comment that on my photo, and I also have no intention of finding out why I promise you. It’s just a compliment that’s all. I’m sure he knows that we’re together, and no I’ve never met him before so I definitely don’t ‘like him’ in that way if that’s what you mean. I’m pretty positive that he means no harm doing that and he’s just being kind, okay?”

 Shawn looks away from you and back down at his phone, and you lean in to kiss him softly on the cheek, “Sorry I guess I am overreacting a little, aren’t I?” He says quietly.

“Just a tad.” You reply with a grin.

It's definitely a golf cart and one used on resorts like the many Disney resorts around Orlando area, or others. The vegetation to a non native Californian, may look similar but it's not. I've live in both areas, it's much more Floridian or Caribbean or tropical. Also you can tell from skylight, it doesn't look Pacific. There's a different bounce between Pacific and Atlantic in the light. Sounds crazy but it's there. Also if this is somewhat real time, sunlight looks mid day Atlantic, not 9 Pac.

You know, you could be all right about Florida, but did you also take into account that this bit of the video could be recorded much earlier?

It's funny, when the gin video came in, everyone immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was a latergram (or latertok). But now, this video (and the follow of Disney World) and all of the sudden everyone is convinced it is RT.

So of course the sunlight doesn't look 9am PT, I really don't think he walked outside recording that little video and immediately created the video with the pics and the music and posted it on TikTok. No way! I don't even think he made it himself. And also don't think he scrolls TikTok to learn what is trending and makes a trendtiktok himself. He's advised, and the person that advises him told him I need a little intro for it. I could even see how this video was already created upfront for the purpose I explained in my other post. And it worked, as his followers were under 140k, the last days slowed significantly down after he started. Think he gained less than 1k a day. And boom, after this video, he's right now on 161.6k abt. +23k in a few hours. And that is what it is all about. Not about privacy or making people talk. Getting followers in, so his next shilling video gets more exposure.

I'm inconclusive about the location, and about the time it was recorded. Yes, did check the hair length, hard to see, I lean slightly towards created after the live IG and before Mexico though.

Masks: In just a few months, they’ve become an essential part of everyday life. And during those months, many of us have test-driven various types, from DIY styles fashioned, painstakingly, via YouTube video to designs made by many of our favorite brands who’d quickly incorporated charitable buy-one-get-one offers. In our experience: Mistakes have been made! Lessons have been learned! And we are slouching, ever so slightly, toward an understanding of what makes a good (read: safe, stylish, comfortable, functional) mask. Here, a handful of MR team members who self-identified as having “opinions about masks”—Amalie, Edith, Eliz, Jasmin, Mallory and Matt—discuss where we’ve landed and how we got there. Mallory: Hello everyone! Welcome to our roundtable discussion: What Makes a Perfect Mask? I will be MCing for no other reason than that will make it easier for me to edit this into a post.

Jasmin: Yoohoo! This is me in my Steele Canvas x Food52 mask purchased from Eliz’s mask story in May. It was a ‘buy one give one’ situation.

It has thick, soft lining inside and denim (?) on the outside. It’s comfy and has adjustable ear straps, and even though it’s heavy, it’s not too much in the heat.

I have some cuter linen ones, but this one is softer on the cheeks

Mallory: Wow yeah I was going to ask about how it’s doing in the heat—it looks nice and sturdy which I have liked in a mask so far

Jasmin: Sturdy is a good word for it, feels like nothing is exposed around the sides

Matt:

Jasmin: Hi Matt, cute top! and mask

Mallory: Sporty spice!!

Matt: Hahahha YES. So, now that sporty spice reference is the number one reason this mask is working for me. But other reasons include that the ear straps are elastic and haven’t stretched out yet and keep a snug fit without being super restrictive. The fabric is light and breathable but feels like it’s substantial and there is a built-in pocket for a filter, which I appreciate from an added layer of protection perspective.

I really like it and also the cut-out on the nose area has been the key difference for me and other masks I’ve tried

Matt: It makes it feel a little less like my whole face is covered / constricted

Mallory: @Matt oh that’s cool about the filter pocket. Have you used it yet?

Matt: Yes! I got some filters in my order from another mask, which I ultimately swapped out for the adidas one, but still used the filters and they fit

I also read that you can apparently use coffee filters for an effective DIY filter sitch?

Eliz: I read that too!

Matt: Don’t know how fact-checked that is though

Eliz: This article says “Missouri S&T research found three layers of coffee filters by themselves without fabric removed 24.1% of relevant particles…. There’s no harm in adding one to your mask.””

Mallory: Love that pattern, Eliz. Is it an around-the-ear style or tie?

Eliz: I need the ties—my ears hurt so much otherwise. This one’s super lightweight and I don’t sweat in the heat with it on. Also very easy to wash and dry. I tie it in the back of my head! Way more comfortable

Eliz: Omg, I’ve seen SO many ads

(I think it’s bc I did so much market work for the mask story so my targeted ads are at a high)

Amalie: It’s made from deadstock material, cute asf, and really lightweight. I had a jersey mask my mom sent me from Etsy for the longest time and it just wasn’t cutting it on these hot days. No face swamp here.

Whilst my upper face has thrived with lack of make up over lockdown, my lower face took a hit

Mallory: Same! Sweat is a big contributing factor to breakouts… trapped sweat? forget it

But anyway I love this mask bc it’s a substantial fabric, but not cumbersome at all. Fits really nicely and easily. And as someone who wears a lot of simple basics for the most part, the tie dye is like my little moment of flair that still kind of goes with everything

Do the elastics not hurt anyone else’s head? They give me a headache

Eliz: OK so what I do is… I actually tie it above my ears but down around beneath my hair with the little nose wire, it stays in place

Matt: Nose wire is important for glasses and sunglasses for sure; I feel like they have provided the only solution to mitigating breath fogging  and temporarily blinding myself while masked

Eliz: No

I absolutely hate these things but at least in the colder weather it won’t be swampland

Jasmin: I haven’t starting thinking about it yet, esp because I haven’t found a more lightweight mask to run or cycle in for the current season

Eliz: There is no world for me where I am giddy about styling a mask

Eliz: Yeah! Remember at the start when it was still cold out? It kept my face warm

Mallory: Maybe Edith will let you borrow her clear mask

Mallory: After she hand-washes it at the end of the day, of course

Edith: Seems easier to sanitize than the other options

Eliz: No, I’m fine covering my expressions up. I’ve seen those memes about RBF being hidden w the mask—that’s me

Mallory: My friend and I did a smizing test the other day where we tried to guess whether the other person was smiling

Mallory: It went well, we both guessed correctly each time

Mallory: Ok ok, final question, wrapping up here: What mask are you currently ogling and what do you like about it?

Eliz: This one—it looks high fashun and I like the adjustable straps. I have high hopes for them to not give me a headache. Also the clouds r cute (and it’s made by a black-owned brand).

The Instagram Reality moderators previously told Bored Panda that the coronavirus quarantine had slightly increased the subreddit’s membership but the amount of edited and photoshopped photos that people upload hasn’t decreased much during the pandemic.

The mods told Bored Panda that what people want to see are natural photos of influencers and celebrities, not done up and “edited to hell” images. “The influencer is going to realize that, I’m sure," the mods said about how they expected popular IG users to react to being stuck at home during the lockdowns which are now being eased or ended all over the world.

According to the Instagram Reality team, “insecurity, envy, and money” are the forces driving some people to photoshop their pictures so heavily before uploading them on social media. That and wanting to avoid embarrassment because of real or imagined imperfections.

What can start out as a few simple edits or adding some minor filters can eventually lead to major photoshopping. And that creates a huge difference between how the person looks in real life and how they present themselves online.

To be fair, most of us try to show the best sides of ourselves to people. But there’s a rather obvious line between that and turning yourself into a completely different individual online.

Why the 7b Promo Pics are Giving Me TD Tingles ;D

Good morning Everyone! How was everyone’s weekend? Good, I hope. Mine was fabulous! So for those who don’t know, AMC has released promo pics for 7b. As always, they’re terribly interesting. I’ve had lots of questions about them over the past few days, so I promised I would do a post analyzing them. Right off the bat I need to thank and acknowledge my FB group. We talked about these a lot and all hashed out ideas for what they reminded us of and what we thought they meant. Special thanks to @boltthrutheheart, @birdiehaven (IG), @lilly.loup (IG), @katkhaos, and @thegloriouscollectorlady for their genius input.

Remember that images used for promo pics generally will show up somewhere in the plot, but also have deeper, symbolic significance as well.

Let’s start with the pics that don’t do much for me. 

First, the cantaloupes. Of course they’re something that grows, so they could be synonymous with “green,” but even for me, that’s a stretch. They have some symbolism in Eastern cultures, but nothing that jumped out at me. The only thing we came up with in our group is that maybe they’re for practice killing (chopping heads like melons). But, who knows?

Then this picture. It’s just very generic and nothing especially jumps out at me. Looks like a reference to the junk yard community, but I’m not seeing much else. Moving on.

Overturned bucket with seeds. The gardening experts in the group tell me these are either tomato or paprika seeds. Either one would have potent symbolism, but personally I think they’re probably tomato. Not just from the way they look but because we’ve seen this symbol so often entangled with Beth symbolism. We saw tomatoes at Grady, and again around Morgan in 6x04, which had tons of callbacks. I think they’ve mentioned growing tomatoes in more than one place. And the most common thing tomatoes symbolize is solidarity. Remember Tara’s line from 5x07: “Solidarity. Band of brothers.” It’s something TF is constantly striving for and we see it a lot in the show.

Peanuts. Peanuts are a very potent symbol and I think it’s interesting that they’re included here. The biggest thing peanuts represent in western culture is mystery. Like, what’s under the shell? So the whole point is mystery. The fact that something is hidden. The shell needs to be broken to find it. I think we can all relate that to TD without help, yeah? And another interesting thing? Peanuts are specifically equated with the Christmas season. I know Christmas is past for us, but that’s super-interesting to me for two reasons: first there’s Daryl’s “I never got nothing from Santa Clause,” which we haven’t seen fulfilled yet. (I’m always wondering if maybe we HAVE seen a few of these and just missed them, but at this point, I kind of don’t think so. The symbolism is still being employed.) Plus there’s that December calander behind the obvious Beth-walker in 5x10. We hoped it meant she would return in December (the s7 MSF) Obviously we interpreted that wrong, but the “Christmas” symbolism is still around. And I suppose it might be a western Christ thing. In reality, Christ was born in the spring but all of western culture celebrates his birthday in December. But I digress. My point is, very interesting peanut symbolism.

The bike. I don’t have much to say about this. Don’t know what it means. But it does bring one very specific thing to mind. In Daryl’s/Norman’s opening credit, we see Daryl’s vest through the spokes of a bike. And we’ve always figured that was about his motorcycle, even though there aren’t spokes on the wheel of a motorcycle. Doing the spokes just made it possible to put two symbols of him in the opening credits. But we’ve seen bikes elsewhere. The instance that always comes to mind first for me is when the camera focuses on one outside the house Rick breaks out of when the Claimers show up in 4x11.  That was a super-obvious Beth/Grady parallel, and part of the reason I formulated my bike theories. (X, X, and X). Now we have a pic of a bike that includes spokes. Again, not sure what it means, but I’m sure it’s important. ;D

Then we have more nuts, this time walnuts, I believe. The biggest callback I’m seeing here is to The Grove. In that case, the nut was different. It was pecans. But Lizzie, Mica, and Carol cracked and cooked tons of them. It was a big part of the episode. Also notice that he nut cracker in this case is a hammer, not unlike the one Tyreese always carried. He was also a big part of that episode. So what does this mean? Well, on the one hand, it may have nothing to do with Beth. I’ve said before and my group has talked a lot about that we think part of Carol and Daryl’s arc in ep 9 and 10 may be Carol finally talking to him about what happened with the girls. This could be a sign of that, if it turns out to be the case. But I’ve talked plenty of times before about how Lizzie especially is tied to Beth as an anti-parallel. I’ve kind of come to associate Lizzie and Mica becoming relevant again with Beth becoming relevant again. And also remember that Lizzie, Mica and Beth all showed up in Ty’s death hallucination. It’s all connected, folks. ;D

But there is another picture that makes me think tptb are specifically invoking Ty’s death. This one:

Skeletal corpse. Not only does it look just like the one in Ty’s death episode (5x09) 

but as I said in my analysis of the S7 opening credits, there’s one there as well. 

And this one in the opening credits, just like the flash of Beth running in the yellow shirt, happens so fast that you can’t see it unless you slow it down. It’s like something the show is hiding in plain sight. That’s very significant to me, guys. And obviously whatever we’re seeing in the credits will probably become relevant in 7b. And I think it’s tied to…um, Ty. ;D

Dynamite. We’re hoping Daryl gets to blow up more shit. That’s always great. But remember the matches Daryl used to escape. He didn’t light them, which means they were completely useless plot-wise, and therefore unnecessary. Which means they’re symbolic. Jesus gave him one and then a box of matches held the door open. Sounds like fire is the gateway to escape, which is in line with what we saw in Still. They burnt down the moonshine shack to free themselves from the shackles of their past. Now we’re seeing dynamite. I’m kind of excited. :D

Lantern. I won’t say much about this one because it’s fairly obvious. It’s an agent of light and fire, which we see around Beth a lot. (Lamp post here.) We also saw a lot of these particular types of lanterns in the manor house at Hilltop. And there were a lot of them in cabin in The Grove too. So another symbol we’ve seen a lot of in past seasons, often associated with TD-type symbolism. There’s also a hanging drill with a sinister looking drill bit. Yeah, that’s creepy.

Bloody handprint. We saw something very similar to this in Ty’s death episode. So another tie back to what happened directly after Coda. And I’m sure we’ve seen bloody hand prints more than once in the series. Ty was just the first one that jumped to mind for most of us.

Okay, let’s get to the really good stuff. 

The rubber duckies. I love saying that word. Rubber duckies. It’s fun. ;D So apparently Richonne will come across some kind of defunct carnival at some point (which btw is like Stephen-King-level creepy). We’re thinking these ducks may be associated with that. But @boltthrutheheart, genius that she is, made some great associations here. We’ve seen/heard of ducks twice before. The first time was actually specifically around Beth. In S2, after Beth goes catatonic, Maggie tells Andrea. *cough, cough* ANDREA about a time when she returned from college and Beth had a meltdown about her birth control and the two of them and their brother ended up screaming at each other in the duck pond before Hershel broke it up and Beth played innocent. So ducks specifically associated with Beth early on and specifically having to do with seeing Maggie for the first time in a long time, after them being apart for a specific period of time.

The other time also has to do with Maggie. In 3x06, Hounded, she and Glenn go on a run and Maggie specifically tells him to pick up a rubber duck for Judith. That scene didn’t have much to do with Beth, but that was when Merle took the two of them captive. So basically that led to Merle, who had been gone for 2 seasons, reuniting with TF and his family (Daryl).

And one more thing? We saw a clock somewhere (in the Sanctuary, I think? But can’t remember where. I’ll find it and add it later) pointing to 3x06. I remember doing a post about it. So we now have two different references to Merle reuniting with his family after two seasons of being gone. Hmmm. ;D

I also feel like there’s slightly more color in this pic than in the others. Like the yellow of the ducks is being emphasized. Just saying. 

And finally my two faves.

First, the open grave. Do I really have to explain why this one is awesome? The empty grave/tomb is the most widespread and potent symbol of resurrection that exists in the Christian world, my friends. I’ve been hearing versions of this symbol at church ever since I was just a kid. We’ve over-analyzed promo pics since Coda aired, but we’ve never seen an open grave in any of them until now. That makes me super excited.

Another thing this puts me in mind of are those three fake graves in Alexandria. We never learned what, if anything, is in them, or what exactly FG had to do with them. So in terms of symbolism, the open grave means resurrection. Plot wise, I’m thinking those three empty graves are coming back into play.

Finally, I think this is my favorite one. 

Shadows of people pointing guns at someone. Now, in terms of plot, this will probably have to do with the junk yard community. But does this remind you of anything. I instantly recognized this stance:

Eh, eh?

Overall, they seem to be place mostly in the junk yard, with a few exceptions, which means that’s gonna be a huge story line in 7b. (Given all the TD symbols around Boots, that makes me happy.) And even though the pictures are quite washed out and colorless, there is actually a lot of green in them, or would be if the color hadn’t been messed with so much.

Bottom line, these images will all be relevant in the back 8, guys. Can’t wait. ;D

I saw there was a post on this recently, and after reading the comments saw there was some good advice, and some bad. In today’s world online and social media marketing are becoming not only important, but actual tools to increase revenue and profit. There’s a bunch of ways to grow an IG account, and a bunch of ways to tank one. This will be a long post, so I’ll try and break into bits. Apologies for mobileSorry guys, I know I'm super late on this, I've just been really busy the past couple months. Here you go, and please don't hesitate to reach out for specific help or advice. Also I'm sure I missed some points, so feel free to add your experience. Just be very careful about using suggestions. Saw some advice in the comments on my last post that was good, and some that was bad. Do your research, and be careful. Have at it​UNDERSTANDING THE AUDIENCE​It really doesn't matter all that much what you're using your IG account for, whether it's to sell a product, to increase brand awareness, to create connections, or just to generate hype, if you don't understand your audience. Know the consumers you're trying to target and what kind of things they like and follow. Do your research, google searches, ask random people on the street, ask friends and family what they think and how would they feel. As with all things marketing, the most important step is to put yourself into their shoes and think strategically the best way to engage with themTHE IMPORTANT THING IS TO COME AT IT WITH A STRATEGY. Each post is an opportunity to gain followers. Your waves of followers will come from quality posts, so make sure you attack each post with a strategy and a hungry mentality. If you're on this sub, y'all are fucking sharks. Be a shark.​THE ALGORITHM​In all honesty, we don’t really know what the algorithm is, but understanding how it works is far more important. Basically, like Facebook, Instagram has a formula that ranks its content (posts) in the feed and in the explore page (more on the explore page later). It has variables such as time of post, total likes and comments, hashtags, location, details on the account that posted, and even includes software to recognize what is in each post, and boost or demote it that way. Therefore, if you tend to only like pictures that have luxury cars in them, IG will boost those pictures in your feed. If you only pics of food or dogs, IG will boost pics of food or dogs in your feed and explore page. Each account has a slightly different algorithm in this regard.This is why it’s important first of all to understand your target audience, and get in their shoes, not yours. So if your product is a technology that primarily benefits middle aged woman, but you only post pictures of the technology, you won’t do as well as if you posted pictures that were applicable and likeable by middle aged woman. Like and comments are your direct assessment of your post. If your audience like it, they’ll engage with you. If not, they won’t.Also the algorithm changes every few months, so what worked last year or even last quarter, probably won't work the exact same way now.​POST FREQUENCY​Some of the comments on the previous post touched on this, but gave some poor advice. Do NOT listen to anyone who tells you you have to post as frequently as you can or post twice a day no exceptions. This is shit advice. Anyone who makes a sweeping rule is clearly not a real entrepreneur, or at least not a very good one. Theres more than way to skin a cat.In general, posting twice a day is a safe option. Once a day, isn't bad either, 3x a day can work. I've had success with even posting 3x a week. I would say somewhere between 3-20x a week. But make sure you aren't oversaturating your feed. You can easily bother your followers by making too many low quality posts. Quality over quantity every time. I know this probably sounds vague, but the important thing to remember is each account is different and unique. Please feel free to ask questions specific to you in the comments and I bet as a community we can really give some good advice.​TIME OF POST​Pretty simple here. 12-9pm EST tends to be best. 12, 3, and 9 specifically. This is when most people tend to be on IG. Sorry if you're international, but I would suggest a quick google search looking for best times to post on IG. Generally speaking, Sunday tends to be the least engaging day of the week, but I've still found plenty of success these days.​CONTENT​Quality content is so important to have. There are three types of posts you can make on Instagram. Just a regular picture, a video, or a gallery post, meaning multiple selections where the user has to swipe in order to see the full post. Generally speaking, videos that are 10-30 second long will perform best, but this is absolutely not a rule of thumb. All posts that have a clear resolution, aren't cropped weird, and are professional are capable of performing well. People are forgoing their websites to only use an Instagram page for their business. Therefore, you have to use professional and quality content on your page. I've only had one post that was blurry that performed well, and it was in the middle of a good week (all other posts were getting thousands, and some tens of thousands of likes and engagements). IG boosts accounts that show consistent positive results.I know that it can be hard to find quality content to post, so if you have questions in this regard specific to your account or business, let me know in the comments.Otherwise, there are a couple apps that let you pull down other profile's posts off the app. I like Grab the best, but it is a bit clunky to use. Buffer lets you do reposts, but I've had a lot of bad experience with Buffer, but one of my mentors has really loved it, so you can try it out and decide for yourself.Always tag people in your posts as well. Instagram lets you tag up to 20 accounts in one post, and you can now tag in videos too! this is awesome. So find influencers in your niche and tag them. Find big accounts related to your niche, and tag them. Find pages your audience follows, and tag them.We also need to discuss the concept of a powerlike. A powerlike is when someone with a big following likes your picture and engages with you. Your post is then much more likely to be displayed in their followers feeds and explore pages. Certain accounts likes have more value than others, so use this to your advantage.​EXPLORE PAGE​Your ultimate goal through organic growth is to consistently get on the explore page and get promoted this way. The explore page is the page you access through the little magnifying glass at the bottom of the mobile app, or the compass when using desktop (don't use desktop, IG's desktop sucks). It shows suggestions to you based on your previous likes and comments and who you follow. This is a great way to utilize OUTSIDE ENGAGEMENT, which I'll get to later.​HASHTAGS​Probably the best improvement you can make on your content is the correct use of hashtags. Each post can have up to 30, so use 30. I also suggest “hiding” them in the comments section by posting them as a comment, but there’s no evidence to support that this truly makes a difference. Use hashtags relevant to your niche. If you’re niche is in to cars, but your using hashtags like #hairstylistlove or #cutedogsoninstagram, IG will actually tank you for incorrectly “gaming” the algorithm.There’s a couple of strategies you can use. 10/10/10 is a good start. Basically, there are big hashtags (over 500,000 posts), medium hashtags (50k-500k posts), and small hashtags (under 50k). You’ll see these ranges vary depending on who you ask, but for 10/10/10, I like these ranges. 10/10/10 basically means to use 10 big hashtags, 10 small, and 10 medium sized ones to properly market your post. Pretty simple. There’s also 25/5, and all smalls. In this case I’d use 25 hashtags under 100,000 and 5 over, or all hashtags under 100,000.The important thing with hashtags is to keep experimenting and find what works. Not all posts are going to do well in a good set of hashtags, and not all good posts require a good set of hashtags to do well. Ik that sounds confusing and tricky, but if you take the time, and put effort into making quality content, Instagram will reward you. They want people to USE the app, to SPEND TIME using their product. The more you use it the more you’ll gain.Geotagging is using a hashtag specifically related to your area. So for example #beverlyhills90210 or #minneapolisweather. These can be great if you're specifically trying to grow your brand in an area.Tagstealing is a term I use, but basically, it means going into the explore page and searching a hashtag relevant to your niche. Find a post that performs well compared to that profile's usual posts. So if someone posts a picture and it gets 500 likes when all their other posts get 50, use the hashtags that they did. They already gamed the algorithm and did the hard part for you.​SHADOWBANNING​This is a widely misunderstood concept and its important that we cover it in its own section. Shadowbanning is where Instagram bans certain hashtags from showing your posts in the explore page. usually these hashtags are porn related or can be porn related. So for example, #petite is banned and won't show results when searched. You can just Google banned hashtags checker and find free online tools that determine whether or not something is banned.​Shadowbanning is NOT however, Instagram demoting your posts for whatever reason. it is strictly related to hashtags​CAPTIONS​Captions are the voice of your posts. It gives you an opportunity to share your opinion, connect with your audience, drive engagement, or really determine the direction of your post. I almost always recommend having a call to action ("let me know what you think in the comments below") to help drive engagement on your posts. Encourage people to want to interact with you, but don't be desperate. That shit turns people off. Some people have long winded, winding stories as captions, while others have maybe a sentence at most. It really depends on you and who you are. Be genuine and real with your audience, and they'll respond to that. Never try to do something just for the likes, always attack IG with the mindset of being yourself and putting your best content and effort into the page.You can use hashtags here, or you can post them in the comments section. I like utilizing the comments method because it "tricks" the algorithm by showing your post as having an extra comment right away.​LOCATION​This is a tricky one but can greatly be used to your benefit. This mainly affects the explore page. Basically, you want to use a location that garners a lot of activity, and more importantly, people on their phones. Stadiums, famous malls, public monuments, or popular Instagram spots are good locations to use. I’ve had mixed results when using restaurants. If you’re trying to grow in a specific city this is wonderful. But make sure you get a little more specific, if you’re just going to do a certain city. Use a neighborhood instead, i.e. Brooklyn not New York, Beverly Hill not Los Angeles.​OTHER TOOLS BESIDES POSTS​This is going to be things like Stories, Live, IGTV. Instagram wants you to use the app, so that they can make more money off of ads. Therefore, they're going to boost you for using the other aspects of the app. Post stories once a day or 5x a week, as a general rule of thumb. An easy strategy with stories is to just do reposts on similar accounts and encourage them to engage with you. Minimal effort for decent reward. also turning the camera around and showing you, talking into the camera, showing your workspace, or you in the field is great as well. More effort, but also probably more reward. Live feed maybe once or twice a week, or more, if you have the content/activity. Things like talks, lectures, videos, lessons etc. Sometimes you can do giveaways exclusive for your live viewers. This encourages viewers to come back consistently and engage in your live stream. IGTV is the newest tool here, but I've best seen it used and used it in the form of interviews, similar to a podcast, or in lectures or announcements. Amanda Bucci has a really great use of stories, live, and IGTV, so check her out for inspiration. These are now so much more important for gaining followers. Make sure you're using hashtags and tagging people in your stories etc as well.​OUTSIDE ENGAGEMENT​This is where you'll really separate your account and make huge strides in growth. I grew an account from 3k followers to 10k in 3 months throug this. You should be spending 30 mins to an hour a day, going out and liking and commenting on other people's posts, to help drive engagement to your page. If you haven't noticed by now, the key word in IG is engagement, and you have to give if you wanna get. You can open a post in the explore page, like it, leave a comment that opens/starts a conversation, and move on in literally less than 10 seconds. Great, swipe right, and do it again. and again. and again and again and again for 10 minutes before and 10 minutes after each post. I've seen this strategy work, but also doing this multiple times throughout the day. Experiment and find what works for you. Each account is different and unique. Each method is going to be different and unique. More than one way to skin a cat.Also make sure that youre replying to all your comments on your posts. This will not only increase loyalty and motivation among your followers, but also trick the algorithm. if you get three comments on a post, and reply to all of them, you now have 6 instead of 3. Always be engaging and active with your followers, and try to reach out to other accounts in your niche and bring them in.I saw a question about bots and stuff, there are plenty of bots on instagram. If they leave a comment, then leave a generous reply, and ignore, unless they respond and seem to be more than just automated. Bots are another follow, but having a group of loyal active followers will grow your account much faster than a bunch of bots who don't engage.​DONTs​Don't buy followers. Most of them tend to be bots, or the wrong type of followers, and won't engage with you at all. Instagram tries to ban these accounts, which could negatively affect yours. Organic growth is infinitely more valuable than buying followers.Don't forget about it or give up. Stay consistent. IG rewards consistency. If you keep at it, you'll eventually break through. Ik trust me, it is very tough and difficult, but can be very rewarding as well.Don't post just to post. Make sure each post has care and effort. Think of it like a new baby each time. You are shaping and raising your baby to give it the best possible opportunity to succeed. If you have a kid just to have a kid and don't put care into, it's going to turn out like shit. Be diligent​DOS​Consider paying to boost your posts. Get a couple of posts to perform really well, and consider spending 10 or 15 bucks on each post. This can easily bring you a thousand or more followers, depending on your account and history.Do consider reaching out to influencers, asking for help, or a shoutout. This is a livelihood for a lot of people, and they will want to gain off your following as well. Most of the time, it's win win.Engage engage engage. If you come away with one thing from this, it's that engagement is key in Instagram, and you need to find ways to drive engagement on your page. Experiment, try new things, have multiple accounts and cross promote.​That sums up the generals guys, but I know that I missed plenty. Please please don't hesitate to bring up any issue or question you have, through either comments or PM. Im super busy right now, but will try to get to all of them. I've worked with single person accounts in past and helped people grow over 100k followers. Currently, I'm working as CMO at a startup, and have experience in all things marketing and sales. Something I forgot to mention in my last post: i love how it seems like all men actually put their full name as their name on insta. Like I’ll be damned if i put anything other than “jay” because I’m not tryna have people go creeping on me. Anyways I know richard’s full name because webcourses lists it, so I went on ig and found him! Now I have some pics to show heather, but I looked at a bunch of stuff and... i found out he’s a freshman. Like, he’s been in college for exactly one month (well actually like 26 days but you get the point). Like, this is his first time ever being self-supporting (somewhat, I assume his parents are still paying all his bills (ugh lucky bastard). I just think back on where I was at this time last year, and I was such a naive kid. I was still in my first major, didn’t pay any bills (well I had my phone bill/rent but not yet my braces, car insurance, etc), no transportation of my own, had stable housing, etc. It’s just so strange. And kind of morbid, but I realized he’s from fort lauderdale. Like, not only was he still in high school during the marjory stoneman shooting (since I was in college when it happened, I feel a certain level of separation, like it’s not something that I can closely relate to since I wasn’t in school), but he was a literal 20 miles from it. I just can’t fathom it. I finished David and Lauren Hogg’s book a few days ago. I remember sandy hook, but only vaguely because I was in, I think, 8th grade. I remember it mostly because of a tumblr video post where a girl had composed a song on the piano about it. the lyrics went something like “that was the day red spilled on green and white.” Of course, as a, like, 13 year old, I didn’t quite grasp the weight of it. I had only a vague idea of how shootings were bad, but it didn’t quite get to me that people died. Real people. Like, those kids would be 15 now if they were still alive. 

I digress. That book really got to me, ya know. 

But yea, he’s like, a freshman. Not a bad connotation necessarily, but just, different I guess. Definitely better in a way, because I’d feel a little uncomfortable dating someone older than me, even by a year, because I’d feel like a child in a way. With someone younger, I have some equal footing with all things considered (like my size/gender/etc).
