Kiss It Off Me
CHAPTER 1
Summary:
A story revolving around the newly arrived resident farmer in the eyes of the personified perfection, the sunflower of Pelican Town herself, Haley. Or. When Haley finally met the person that caused ripples in what was once a stagnant town, and she didn’t know how to handle such massive change.
Pairings: Haley x Fem!farmer
Notes:
Haley's heart events are just soooo wifey, especially after marriage. Her character development is well written off but I just can't help but notice that something is missing, like the heart events are just not that connected in some way. Stardew is an absolute gem don't get me wrong. I'd like to try and connect what I think is missing which is the reason this fic is created. P.S. Second try in making fanfiction. I apologize for any future grammatical errors or whatever. English is not my primary language.
Disclaimer:  I do not own Stardew Valley or any of the related characters. Stardew Valley is created by and owned by ConcernedApe. This fanfiction is intended for entertainment only. I am not making any profit from this story. All rights of the original Stardew Valley story belong to ConcernedApe.
Warning: None so far? Just Haley being her usual self

Winter 25
Immobile.
Stagnant.
Bland.
What words could possibly do justice to describe this sleepy town? Pelican Town had its charms sure. It’s peaceful, the air is fresh, and would never choke you on your sleep plus it gives a really nice tan so Haley wouldn’t really complain.
But it was just so... boring. Was that the right term?
The people are meh, nosy, and just as bland but they are good neighbors though don't get her wrong. They look after them— her and Emily when their parents can’t.
Ugh.
Them again. Thinking about them just makes her angry— blood boiling and all that, and well… sad which is infuriating.
How can you just leave your kids just to go follow your own dreams and travel? And then act like you care just by sending some half-hearted letter? Sending a letter now and then was hardly enough to make up for their absence. How low could that be?
Emily doesn’t think so. But what does she know? Her cooking was as bland as the town, and her obsession with crystals and hippie clothes was just plain ridiculous. She knows nothing.
Her sister is anything but pessimistic. She saw the light in everything whereas Haley ever saw them through the lens of her camera.
Capturing a single moment in a photograph was a thousand times more vivid and alive than the bleak and colorless reality she was currently living in.
She should be in college right now, pursuing her dreams, being the center of attention, and having boys falling over themselves to impress her. Or she would have been running her own photography studio by now in a city that never sleeps, schmoozing with some famous photographers and carving a niche for herself in the cut-throat world of photography.
But no, because here she was, stuck in a six-mile drive from the nearest city, life as directionless as the people in here.
Why am I even staying here? She wonders.
Oh, yeah— grandma.
This house is hers. Her house is the only thing that made her feel that Grandma is still here, with them. Even though Haley is talking big about leaving this town, she knew to herself that she doesn’t have the strength to just leave it just like that. Which is why they both tried to keep it tidy and well... avoiding it from falling apart.
Aside from that, there was nothing to do here. The only things keeping her sane were her camera, her phone, and the clothes she ordered online.
Oh, and of course, her best friend, Alex.
He's the only one— aside from Emily and of course, the Mullner residence, Granny and George are good people even though George is grumpy all the time,  that she's able to have a decent conversation. She and Alex are, after all, not the sharpest tool in the shed, and shares almost the same brain cell.
He’s that typical jock boy, ripped as hell but in terms of brain, well… meh. Not like Haley's any better so who is she to judge?
They went to the same school, belonged to the same clique, and were both popular, of course. He’s here to practice his grid ball or whatever but Haley knew better.
Alex, despite being the dungus that he is, has a lot on his plate already. He needs the peace this town could offer.
And maybe, maybe I need it, too.
Maybe being away from the city has a good cause, despite her constant complaints, this town has been her home for the past six years after all.
But she just really couldn’t help but dwell on this stupid thought of hers of being stagnant and directionless at this time of the year.
Winter.
Ugh. It’s stupidly cold outside and there’s no way she’s walking in six-inch snow just to get a quality photo, which isn’t much considering the lighting outside does not satisfy her at all. The only, and probably one good thing about winter is peppermint coffee. It's hot, minty, and makes her feel warm while making her mouth worthy of being sucked on— err... that's a want that cannot be sated as of the moment.
The bachelors in this town suck for real. They are not even worthy of a single glance. Apart from Alex, of course, but he's a friend so... no.
And what's made it double suck is that she ran out of peppermint coffee. Pierre is out of stock and there's no way she'll let herself be caught alive inside that creep manager's store that runs Joja or whatever.
Now she's stuck sitting at the table, devouring a massive pink cake that could feed an entire family, enduring a coffee so bland it makes her want to try and drink tea.
She hates tea.
Oh yeah, she's also holding a note and a sunflower in her other hand.
She doesn't want to read the letter but considering the gifts she just received, it’s probably just the same lame-ass apology about being unable to be here on her birthday this coming Spring 14th. Not that it mattered anymore; it had been two years of absence, and she had grown used to it by now.
With a flick of her wrist, she tossed the note onto the table, debating whether to toss it into the fireplace or tear it to shreds or whatever.
If it's just another excuse, she doesn’t want to hear it.
"Haaaay!" And there's a familiar voice.
"If you don't have peppermint coffee with you I swear to Yoba—"
"What's the case, long face?" He quipped. "And no, I don't have anything with me."
She looked up from her cake, finding Alex strolling in their kitchen with one of his shit-eating grins, hair covered with a concerning amount of snow. She grimaced, "sometimes I wonder why I'm friends with you."
He feigned a hurt expression, "I thought you love me though."
"According to gossip, maybe but really, I don't." She deadpanned.
He cackled at the mention of that. At the center of the gossip mill passing down from Marnie, Jodi, and Caroline, maybe Robin, too, and probably all the yoga club, is he and Haley dating. Which was absurd, to be honest.
"No, really, Hay." He finally turns serious. "What's up? What's got your face looking like that?"
"It's just the stupid climate." Haley tried to lie. She didn't want to stir up drama at the moment. Alex frowned, catching up with her lie almost immediately. He caught sight of the letter Haley threw earlier. "Alex don't—"
Too late. He already got it. He sat down next to her as he read the contents of the note, his brows furrowing in what she assumes is annoyance. "Parents, huh? Same old, same old?" He raised an eyebrow.
Haley huffed and snatched the letter away. "Yes, the usual."
"Well," Alex propped his elbow on the backrest, a sly grin returning to his face. "I just got the perfect news that might take your mind off things."
Haley arched a perfect eyebrow, curious. Gossip wasn't his usual forte.
"Spill."
"A new farmer is coming to town."
Haley's fork paused in mid-air. "Uh... I'm not sure how to react to that, and what's so great about it?"
His smile widened. "I heard she's from Zuzu City."
"I'm sorry, what?"
"Why? Surprised another Zuzu native is coming here?"
"No, you dungus." She slapped his hand attempting to take a slice of her cake. "I heard you correctly, right? You said the farmer's a she? A girl is taking over that farm?"
"Yes," Alex confirmed, finally snagging a bite of cake. Haley makes a scrunched face in mock disgust. "The farmer's a she. Old man Railey's granddaughter actually. What's the problem though?" He asked in mouthfuls.
Haley stood up to grab another spoon. No way she's getting his imaginary cooties. Alex doesn't seem to mind; it only further encourages him to eat some more. "Because it’s weird." She said as she sat down. "Farming isn't exactly a girl's job, especially for a city girl like her. I bet you she wouldn't last a month."
"Not all girls are like you, Hay— ow! What's that for?!" He rubbed his ribs where Haley just nudged with her boniest elbow of all time.
"As I was saying before being rudely interrupted," she rolled her eyes, "farming is all dirt and nasty, smelly clothes. That farm was barely run by old man Raileigh before he died. What could possibly a city girl like his granddaughter could do with that rundown farm? I bet you it’s already smoldering by now."
"Good point," Alex said as he continued eating. Haley swear to Yoba all this idiot does is eat and relax in here.
He has a diet, right? So does she, and they're like eating a fat block of sugar right now.
Whatever. Pink cake has always been an exemption from all her seasonal dietary plans.
"But I guess we'll have to wait and see; don't you think so?" Alex turns to her after a few moments of silence. "I heard she's around our age. If it's true that farming is as difficult as they say, the least we can do is make her feel welcomed."
Haley barely nods in acknowledgment.
This town is like a pond, where everything that enters stays and everyone already there remains. The city is a raging storm with ocean waves ready to swallow you if you go against the flow. A lot of people there has a sense of direction, one Haley aspires to have, and what Pelican lacks. You can't, at all costs, be still and unmoved and some people just couldn't do that.
And those people who couldn't stand the pressure, come here, like a moth drawn to a flame, seeking the mundanity Pelican Town could offer them. Perhaps they have grown weary of the constant hustle and bustle. Maybe city life has been too much. Maybe modern life has been too much for this farmer.
Who knows?
But one thing Haley doesn't like, and what keeps her unmoved and still, is change. Adapting, and adjusting isn't meant for her. It took years before she could finally settle a lifestyle in this town, and another two years of adjustment when her parents decided it would be a good idea to abandon them and go travel. She knew where to go, where townspeople go just so she could avoid interacting with them, she accustomed herself to their culture, and the perfect spots for taking pictures. She has it all memorized and planned out perfectly.
And this farmer will be an anomaly to her perfectly (not as perfect as she thought) crafted routine. New face, a new attitude, and just an overall new person she might be obligated to talk to for the sake of introduction.
Pelican is a stagnant pond, yet this farmer, this alien to her world, she's not yet even here but she is already starting to cause ripples.
And Haley doesn't know what to think of it.

Notes:
The title was inspired by Cigarettes After Sex' Kiss it off me. Their songs are such *chef's kiss* and whilst I was listening to this song, it kind of, sorta, reminded me of how my farmer sees her wife. Thus kabooOm this fic is born
Edit: Because I'm procrastinating and I made sure to finish off my other story first, I decided now to transfer this story from Ao3 to Tumblr

rating the drivers based on their current haircuts
lewis: 100/10. undeniably the best hair on the grid. when he had his hair up in the two little buns(?) near the start of season I damn near became teamlh
george: 6/10. I personally don't think it serves cunt but it gets the job done. preferred his williams haircut but this one does make him look older so
charles: 9/10. to be fair I think any haircut this man could possibly get it'd still look amazing. life is so unfair
carlos: 9/10 also. ferrari should rebrand to the good hair team. mattia is not included because he wears a clown wig constantly
max: meh. 4/10. don't love it. to be fair I feel like I only see his hair when it's really gross and sweaty when he takes his helmet off
checo: 5/10. just a man's hair
daniel: 8/10 for the glow up. because godamn his hair in toro rosso was not serving cunt. it was doing the opposite. removing cunt so to speak
lando: 6/10 I am a lando curl enjoyer who also likes consistency. I have not been receiving either of that from him. to be fair like, he had that r e a l l y bad haircut a while ago which like anything in comparison is better, but max f's brother has not been doing his hair well I'm jusy gonna say it
mick: 6.5/10. he got a haircut recently and I really didn't like it. I can't exactly remember what it looked like before but I want him to go Back. I like it when he is boyfriend shaped
kevin: 6/10. viking hair. I respect it
alex: 8/10 for the red hair. personally I think he should bleach it and then re-dye it red so that him and I can match and also because then it'll show way more. but I think that's just me being selfish
nicky: 4/10. not a fan. can't really remember what it looks like (I'm writing all of these without looking a refrence) but I know I'm not a fan
seb: please don't hate me. please don't hate me. please don't hate me. 2/10. I don't like the long hair I'm so sorry please don't hate me
lance: -100/10. I'm sorry lance but what the fuck. his hair looked way better last season what did he do to it????? just like ferrari I think Aston need to rebrand...
val: 5/10. just a guy's haircut. neither here nor there but it's solid I suppose
guanyu: 9/10. very very very solid hair cut. looks good. accentuates his features. I like your cut g
pierre: 6/10. it's... okay. I really liked the blonde streaks he had during toro rosso. bring them back pls. or is there not enough money in the rbr budget for bleach
yuki: 5/10 okay I love yuki soso much yeah but I just Do Not vibe with the hair cut. I will let him off gently though because he looks like he takes good care of it
fernando: 4/10 it's okay??? I've never really thought about his haircut prior to this. can't say im a fan though
este: esteban I am so sorry but it's a 3/10 from me. there's just. so. so much better haircuts you could have
this is all in good fun and also just my opinion so pls don't take this as me attacking any of the drivers :)

31.03.2023 | AUSTRALIA FP3 & QUALIFYING
Again, when I saw FP3 it was still Friday night even though it was Saturday in Australia, but I'm going to use my date.
FP3
RED BULL
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Max was setting good lap times, but he was pushed down for most of the session, and it wasn't until near the end that he ended up setting the fastest lap. The car is oversteering a lot, and I think it's a problem for both Red Bulls and Max just controls it a little better. Max finished P1 (1:17.565)
Checo's car was not perfect, the team was fixing it even after the session started. Checo could set fast laps because something always prevented him. And this is my formal demand for Sergio "Checo" Pérez's rights because what Hülkenberg did was dangerous, he should have been more aware of his surroundings. Checo had too many lockups and ended up on gravel and grass more than once. He sounded stressed near the end of the session. Checo finished P6 (+0.558s).
In other news: Daniel cam! He looks so pretty.
ASTON MARTIN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fernando came in later in the session, but he did quite well. The comparison between Fernando and Lewis pointed out that Fernando was faster on the straights! Nando finished P2 (+0.162s).
Lance also did pretty well throughout the session! Lance finished P9 (+0.633s) with a +0.471s gap from his teammate.
MERCEDES
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Something something George asking about bottoming or something like that. I know what you are. I don't know what happened with Mercedes, they seemed to be on the others way or their tyres were bad. They had good lap times and then were meh. No idea.
George finished P4 (+0.390s)
Lewis finished P8 (+0.573s) with a +0.183s gap from his teammate.
In other news: Mick + Toto cam!
FERRARI
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ferrari was good at the start, but they were fighting for their lives in the end. I don't have much to say about them.
Carlos finished P7 (+0.532s).
Even Charles ended up going through the gravel and finished P13 (+1.126s) with a +0.594s gap from his teammate.
ALPINE
Tumblr media
Esteban Ocon P3 okayyyy. He was +0.373s.
Pierre finished P5 (+0.529s) with a +0.156s gap from his teammate.
ALFA ROMEO
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just wrote one thing about Alfa Romeo: ZHOU HIT THE WALL NOOOO. Zhou finished P10 (+0.765s).
Val finished P15 (+1.244s) with a +0.479s gap from his teammate.
HAAS
Tumblr media
Kevin with the apex/gravel/grass problem. And Hülkenberg will pay for his crimes someday. I was sure the FIA was going to give him at least a warning for that move, and nothing happened! That may have ended badly for both of them.
Hülkenberg finished P11 (+0.845s) and Kevin P18 (+1.491s) with a +0.646s gap between them.
WILLIAMS
Tumblr media
I genuinely realize how delusional I am because even though the positions aren't incredible, I really have hope for Williams that they do well. Alex finished P12 (+0.988s) and Logan P17 (+1.382s) with a +0.394s gap between them.
In other news: James cam!
ALPHATAURI
Tumblr media
How is it possible that there is a piece of debris from De Vries's car (lol) and that's it? I mean, how does a piece of the car blow off and you act like it's nothing.
Yuki finished P16 (+1.336s).
Nyck finished P19 (+1.527s) with a +0.191s gap from his teammate.
MCLAREN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
McLaren is in the trenches!! At least Oscar looks pretty, and his lap times are not THAT bad, but how come Lando's car broke down? What's that? Oscar finished P14 (+1.148s) and Lando P20 (+1.581s) with a +0.433s gap between them.
QUALIFYING
Q1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I noticed that Red Bull, Aston Martin, Alpine, Ferrari and Mercedes are the last to leave the garage. I feel it's supposed to be like a smart move I'm not meant to understand, but yeah I don't think it's a coincidence.
Max was doing a good lap, but the oversteering is noticeable. At the same time CHECO ENDED UP IN THE GRAVEL. This caused the red flag. Apparently, Checo identified the problem and the team didn't listen, even when fixing the car 10 mins before Qualifying.
Unfortunately, Oscar couldn't make it to Q2 this time :( I hope he does well in the race. Oscar finished P16 (1:18.517).
Both Alfa Romeos were knocked out. They still have the rest of the season to improve, but hopefully, that improvement will start now. Zhou finished P17 (1:18.540) and Val P19 (1:18.557).
It seems to me that Logan's Williams has more problems than Alex's. Williams isn't as consistent, but it could be worse. Logan finished P18 (1:18.557).
Alex was amazing during Q1!!!
Q2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fernando's laps were amazing, and Lance looks good too. Yet I'm surprised it got to the point where I'm worried about Mercedes getting knocked out in Q2.
Esteban finished P11 (1:17.768). I thought he was going into Q3. At least the groaning on the radio made me laugh.
Yuki and Nyck were knocked out too, finishing P12 (1:18.099) and P15 (1:18.335), respectively.
Lando also got knocked out in Q2, he ended up in the gravel, and overall it hasn't been his day. In my notes, I just wrote: "ZAK BROWN FUCK YOU." The best radio: "Lando that's P13" "I know." Lando finished P13 (1:18.119).
I would have preferred Kevin in Q3 instead of Hülkenberg, but at least he's being relatively consistent. Kevin finished P14 (1:18.129).
Q3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was relatively stressful, with a 90% chance of rain, oversteer, terrible communication, and Red Bull.
Max finished P1 (1:16.732), of course. Yes, it's great, but how is it possible that he complains about mechanical problems and apparently also had battery problems. Then in press, he acts aloof. Max Emilian, what are you playing?
Both Mercedes in the Top 3. IT'S ABOUT TIME. TORGER CELEBRATING YOU SHOULD WAIT TILL THEY ACTUALLY WIN. On one hand, I think George showed in Brazil that he's very good at driving wheel-to-wheel with Max, and the W14 is better than the W13 but the RB19 looks better than the RB18 (although I feel it's less reliable). Lewis, on the other hand, did amazing and gave me so much hope. I'll be praying for him. George finished P2 (1:16.968) and Lewis P3 (1:17.104).
Fernando finished P4 (1:17.139). I WANTED FERNANDO ON POLE OR P2!!! But hey, the second row is good for him. I feel that many people forget that Fernando is excellent at the start. One of the graphs during FP3 said Fernando was faster than Lewis on the straights! And I say the same thing from last time: Fernando is good at overtaking, I'm not worried about him. I hope he does excellent tomorrow.
I need to talk about Ferrari. I feel that this is not a driver's problem, this is an engineer's problem. Why are they given contradictory orders? And if it's a mistake, why don't communicate and correct the mistakes immediately? They're setting them both up. Carlos finished P5 (1:17.270), while Charles finished P7 (1:17.369).
Lance did well, yes I would have liked to see him higher, but third row is pretty cool! Lance finished P6 (1:17.308).
Alex finished P8 (1:17.609)!!! I was so happy to see him in Q3, and I feel it's a good position where he can do well in the race.
Pierre finished P9 (1:17.675), and I realize I didn't write anything about him. Sorry Pierre, I focused too much on my blorbos. But I don't feel so bad, P9 is consistent for him apparently.
I'm not saying much about Hülkenberg, just that he was on the way a lot of the time. Hülkenberg finished P10 (1:17.735).

So then, that was not too bad of a race. End was a bit meh but, overall, not too bad. I will admit, my attention was a bit all over the place. Both due to my usual inability to focus, but also my drowsiness. Even so, onto my race summary.
First off, congrats to the podium finishers of Max, Charles, and George! Max made up some positions and was certainly fast out there. And Ferrari managed to not screw up Charles’s strategy, which is nice. Though they are kinda making him do a bit of his own strategy calls, which is...interesting. And George just kept up the pace and gets Mercedes another podium.
Well done to the rest of the top ten, too! In order we have Carlos, Lewis, Checo, Lando, Pierre, Nyck, and Zhou. Carlos, Lewis, and Checo certainly did some work, pulling themselves up from the back of the grid. And I just heard but apparently Checo had to pit early due to a tyre puncture. Oh my. And I know I mentioned it before but, again, big kudos to Nyck getting points on his first time out! And in a Williams, to boot. He really did hold his own out there.
And good job to the rest of the race finishers, as well! In order, they were Esteban, Mick, Val, Yuki, Nicholas, and K-Mag. Gonna be honest, can’t remember a lot of what happened to these guys in the race. Oh, other than Nicholas and Mick’s little battle near the end. That was good to see.
Finally, we had a few cars that didn’t get to see the checkered flag. First off was Seb who had to stop his car with an ERS issue. Then Nando pulled into the pits with what I think I heard was a loss in hydraulic pressure. Lance also pitted his car after some kind of issue as well, so a double retirement for Aston Martin. Oof. And finally Dan stopped on track, which brought out that safety car at the end. Here’s hoping for better races for all these guys in the near future.
And speaking of races in the near future...there’s not one. Which I’m glad about ‘cause, whew, this triple header feels like it wore me out a bit. The next race will be in three week’s time in Singapore. And by then we’ll most likely have Alex back. He of course missed this weekend after getting hit with appendicitis. And, like I said before, I do hope he has a good and speedy recovery from that.
So then, with that, that’s my liveblogging done for today. And, boy, do I feel ready for a nap. Both due to tiredness from the whole triple header thing and also thanks to my allergy relief pills. Thanks, allergies. :P Anyway, whatever you happen to be up to, I hope y’all have a lovely rest of your day. Later!

Tuesday's Stardew Valley Canon Pairings Hot Takes
* (This includes the actual married couples and psuedo-couples that are implied to be canon if the player didn't intervene)
I'll start with Maru and Harvey because I've already given my opinion on them, but I'll go into a little more depth. Harvey looks like he's mid 30s or early 40s while Maru is apparently young enough for Demetrius to get protective of her when the player is basically just getting friendly at that point. Is Harvey different because he's a doctor? I feel like Demetrius would notice how unprofessional it is for an employer to date an employee, but what do I know? This isn't Maru's fault, though the vague information from canon makes me uneasy.
Speaking of Demetrius, I want to say that Robin and Demetrius are the best couple in the game. I love the way they dance together at the saloon on Fridays, you can tell they're still very much in love. They have disagreements, but they ultimately care about each other.
Sebastian and Abigail feels kinda one-sided? Like it's implied Seb has a crush on Abi, but he doesn't consider her a friend even though she comes to visit him. It's always "Sam is the only friend I have" or something along those lines. Not that I really ship Seb with Sam (Sam feels too immature to be in a relationship rn) but I feel like Seb and Abi are just paired together because they're both alt.
Sam and Penny just feels chaotic on all ends. Sam can't even have the player over at night without panicking about his Mommy—does Penny really need that energy in her life? She's already kinda caring for the only two children in the valley, she doesn't need to have a third child on her hands. This feels like the couple that used to be high school sweethearts only to grow to resent each other as time passes on.
Jodi and Kent is hard for me to read into fairly. I mean, Kent isn't even there for the first year and when he does come home, he seems emotionally detached to everything. I don't remember a time where Kent really talks about his role as a father or husband. Not Kent's fault, he literally has PTSD, it's just that Kent and Jodi don't really feel happy together.
Leah and Elliott, on the other hand, just make sense with each other. They look like they were literally made for one another. Part of me feels bad whenever I try to split them up because I don't think I could make them as happy as they make each other.
Alex and Haley bring out the worst in each other. There's a reason they don't talk to each other as much once they start their character development. Alex likes Haley because she's pretty, Haley likes Alex because he's handsome. Nothing more to say.
Evelyn and George are sweet. It can lean a little into "boomer wife humor" territory at times, but some of it makes sense if you consider that George has internalized ableism and he doesn't like having lack of agency (I mean, would you want to be dragged into the freezing snow against your will in a metal wheelchair, regardless of whether it was the festival you met your spouse at?). Evelyn cares about George a lot though and it's sweet how she tries to get him to see people still care about him. I feel like she's why George has the motivation to wake up each morning (that, and taking care of his grandson). I don't want to make this too long, but they're a sweet elderly couple and I like their dynamic.
Pierre and Caroline are meh. Part of that is because I see Pierre as "smug seed dispenser" and Caroline as "the woman who is probably into essential oils and is anti-vax" erm, "the tea lady who doesn't have much of an identity outside her family and her tea room". Other people have made better observe about them, though I don't know if they really love each other. Doesn't really help that Pierre is usually selling stuff during festivals instead of spending time with his family.
Emily and Clint is a HUGE "hell no" for me. Clint has incel vibes and it's confirmed when he completely ghosts her after she gets into a relationship...and Emily still wanted to be his friend! Clint shouldn't even be getting mad when he can't even talk to Emily without the player threatening to never upgrade their tools again.
Emily and Shane only really exists as a pairing because the two of them weren't designed to be suitors at first, but I like them a lot more than Clint and Emily. Shane is always around the bar, so they'd interact quite a bit. They both care about animals deeply (look at me and tell me Emily wouldn't be thrilled about the Blu chickens!). I can see them working as a couple.
Not going to lie, I nearly forgot about Lewis and Marnie. They're the tabloid gossip couple and no one would be thinking that if Lewis wasn't too pathetic to be open about his relationship with Marnie. You've been misusing the budget to make a golden statue of yourself, Lewis, dating Marnie is the least of your problems. Stop making out in bushes and just be honest ffs. It's not like Lewis has any competition if he's been mayor for over 20 years...

Who are your favourite characters? Least favourite? I love Addison, Cristina and Meredith. And I’m really liking Lexi. I’ve just finished season 4 so my merder shipper heart is SINGING.
Based on spoilers Ive accidentally read over time I’ll probably only watch the first 10 seasons lol.
Thank you for talking greys with me!! :)
My favorites are similar to yours. Meredith and Cristina, of course. Twisted sisters for lifeeee! Also Lexi, Addison, April (who you haven't met yet), Callie, and Arizona (she'll pop up soon).
My favorite male characters are Derek, Mark - McDreamy and McSteamy are a given, come on - Jackson, and George. Alex was a real ass in the beginning of the series and I didn't care for him but he really evolves over the course of time and grew on me. I was a big Dr. Burke stan until the actor got himself booted off the show. I also will always have a HUGE soft spot for Denny Duquette. (Blame Jeffrey Dean Morgan's boundless charm and those goddamn dimples!) The s2 finale destroys me every time I rewatch it. I still cannot listen to "Chasing Cars" without crying. It's a whole thing.
Also--*conjures a protection circle for Nathan Riggs* I really love his character. He was a good addition, interesting too, and nobody can convince me otherwise!
As for characters I don't particularly care for I have to say that I've always been 'meh' where Owen is concerned. Same goes for Amelia. Though, I did like her better on Private Practice. Erica Hahn didn't do anything for me as a viewer, either. And I've never warmed to Catherine Avery. Ever. I sort of think she's the worst, tbh. 😆
As the seasons went along, I didn't like many of the newer recurring characters the show added but I don't want to mention them by name/season and prejudice you against them unnecessarily.
It'd probably be better for your emotional health to stop watching after s10, but it's hard to stop once you're invested. Trust me, I get it haha.
And thank YOU for talking with me about Grey's! xx

drive to survive season 3 trailer, an overanalysis and unneeded commentary
"f1 is open for business again"
toto on a scooter is a strong starter
christian horner reminding us to stay 2 meters apart (that's far too close imo)
the first flash of ferrari's 90th celebration... because we need to relive that?
"the target is to survive" - gunther, followed by romain's crash which is frankly tasteless
"i'm the man that walked out of fire" - romain, but the true gem here is marion grosjean being like lord help me with this man
"everyone know each other like family" vigorously underlines dysfunctional
the obligatory lando/carlos fanservice, "just get to ferrari already mate" agreed lando
"no such thing as peace in f1" this is the best thing i've hear lance say
"they're trying to stop me aren't they?" yes, probs lewis. i hope they show his breonna taylor shirt on the podium
"i'm leaving at the end of the year I can say what I want" with "we can't be too funny considering the performance" is a summary of ferrari 2020, thank god you're free now seb
"to whom it may concern fuck you" lol mmkay valtteri just enjoy your heineken
a peek of pierre's win!
more?? ferrari?? celebration?? why??
valtteri being sad in finland with an axe?
lewis and alex colliding (PAIN) "he doesn't like you does he?"
cyril having a crisis in a trailer "what a mess"
bonus bono saying it's shit to lewis
random esteban
checo's win, like that firework shot is TIMELESS
dan on the podium, bonus michael italiano
pierre on the podium
ending on dan "kicking some ass"
and guenther swearing because someone asked him if he wanted an umbrella, of course
there's absolutely no williams in the trailer??? or george russell
or alfa (but williams have an actual storyline) or dany, again
i hope there isn't a full valtteri ep or really ferrari tbh
i hope they cover claire and frank leaving
and also sahkir!! because the DRAMA.
i also don't want to see sad alex albon, he doesn't deserve it
noticeably more lando which is NOT shocking
swearing guenther has really lost it's charm, like.. meh
keeping in mind though the target audience of this is not f1 fans, it's just to get people to watch

a house down on pandora road
awesamfam fluff because i care them
for @scarletmeer @spookystew
There’s a house down on Pandora Road.
It’s got flowers in the window boxes, and little ceramic toads in the lawn, and the door is painted a dark purple grey.
Sam, the owner of the house, liked to make things pretty. He would clean the windows every month, and rake the lawn, and sweep the driveway. He liked his house to look warm.
But there was no one to make it look warm for.
He was alone, just him, and his dog, and his house.
He didn’t mind. Fran was a good roommate, even if she barked at two in the morning to be let out, and got hair all over his furniture, and drooled on the carpet. She was getting old, after all.
He lived alone for a long time, and he didn’t mind too much.
And then, his old friend George met up with him for breakfast.
“I got kicked out,” He said, easily, taking a sip of the coffee that sat in front of him. “Missed too many rent payments.”
“Oh,” Sam said dumbly. “Are you… alright?”
“Meh, I’ve been better. I mean, getting kicked out isn’t really anyone’s goal, but I found a motel room that’s not too expensive. I can still walk to work, so it’s alright.”
“Wait… you work at Walmart, right? That’s… that’s pretty close to my house.”
George frowned, picking at his eggs. “I mean, I guess. It’s closer than the motel, I think, a couple minute walk?”
“George…” Sam said, rubbing his chin. “Would you… would you like to sleep at my house? Not for too long, just… a week or so, so you can save money.”
George blinked at him, narrowing his eyes at the taller man. “You’re… you’re joking, right?”
“No, I’m serious! We could be roommates, just for a bit. You don’t have to pay rent or anything, you can just… live with me for a bit.”
They both sat there in silence for a bit, staring at each other, before George hummed, nodding slowly. “Well… alright.”
He moved in that afternoon, a simple suitcase all he had on him.
Sam set up the guest bedroom, happily, watching the other man unpack. “If you need anything, let me know.”
“Okay.”
“I’m serious.”
“I know.”
“Do you want to get pizza for dinner?”
“Sure.”
Sam knew he was too excited to have a roommate. He called his mom that night, rambling about how wonderful it was to finally have someone to talk to who wasn’t a dog.
She laughed, and told him he needed to get out more.
George had insisted he would move out as soon as possible, he had no reason to stick around, but even after he got his feet back under him, even after he had the chance to move out, he stayed. Sam didn’t argue.
One night, when Sam was walking Fran, he met a man.
He was young, 19 or 20 at the most, with shaggy black hair and a swollen eye. He sat on the curb, a cigarette in hand, staring at his bare feet, eyes dim. Sam would have walked past without a thought, but something made him stop.
“Hey,” He started, carefully, watching the man jump. “Are you okay?”
The man stared at him, for a beat, two. And then he was crying.
His name was Alex, he said, and his fiance had kicked him out, and he had nowhere to go, and he was so scared, and hungry, and his eye hurt so so bad, and he didn’t know what to do.
Sam froze up, but he knew what he had to do.
George was gone at work by the time they got there, but Sam sent him a text, and smiled kindly at Alex, and invited him to set up in the other guest room.
Alex and George didn’t get along at first.
Alex was the kind of guy to spread out. When he sat on the couch, he put his feet on the coffee table. When he worked on homework, he laid his papers out. When he got home from class, he tossed his jacket on the floor. He was argumentative, and loud, and energetic.
George was reserved. He crossed his legs, and folded his own laundry, and washed his dishes. He was stubborn, and quiet, and uptight.
Sam was somewhere in between. He was the biggest by far, 6’6” fram towering over George, who was 5’8” and Alex was only 5’3”, so he could easily take up the most space, but he didn’t. Sam cleaned up his messes, and Alex’s, sometime’s. He kept the house clean, and let them do their own thing, and kept the house together.
After a few months, Alex and George learned to coexist, and George would even help Alex with his homework, although law was not his forte, and Alex started to clean up his messes sometimes.
It was still hard on Alex, though, Sam could tell, he was an extrovert with an introvert roommate, and Sam couldn’t always hang out, he was a mechanic at the local garage, and came home exhausted more often than not.
Alex was lonely, and Sam hated that he couldn’t do anything to help.
He found the boy late one spring afternoon, almost a year after Alex moved in.
The teen was shuffling through the garbage out back of the garage, when Sam came out to throw something away. He heard the noise and assumed it was a raccoon, so when he rounded the corner to find a 16 year old boy, he was reasonably surprised.
The blond disappeared into the night, and Sam spent the rest of the week cursing himself for not being more careful.
The boy came back, after a bit, and this time, Sam was slower. He slowly moved up to the boy, cutting off escape routes, and before he could get attacked, pulled out a sock puppet.
It was a dumb gimmick, using the sock puppet to talk, introducing it as Sam Nook, and speaking in a high, warbly voice, but the boy at least thought it was funny, and started talking back.
His name was Tommy, and he was looking for food, he explained, eyeing Sam suspiciously. Sam tried not to get too excited, and Sam Nook explained he had some food in his office.
Tommy didn’t trust him, of course, so Sam handed him the puppet, and went in to grab his sandwich. When he came out, Tommy was gone, unsurprisingly, so Sam just set the sandwich down on a napkin and went back inside.
The next morning, it was gone, although whether that was due to cats, rats, dog, raccoons or a certain teenage boy, Sam wasn’t sure.
Alex joked he should roofie the sandwich, and Sam let out a squawk.
It took a month for him to have an actual conversation without the puppet, sitting on the curb out front of the shop.
“I dunno,” Tommy said. “I wanna make a hotel when I grow up. Kinda shit that I’ll never get the chance.”
“Mm, I don’t know. You’ve got potential.”
“Really?” Tommy asked, eyes wide and impossibly blue. “You think so?”
He followed Sam home that night, hesitating when invited inside, but he did join them for dinner, eyeing the other two, and just like that, Alex had a friend.
It was uncanny how similar Tommy and Alex were, when you peeled away the surface.
Tommy was loud, and boisterous, and a little too tall for his body, throwing himself around and crowing with laughter, and cracking jokes about women and drugs and money, and Alex lit up as soon as he saw him.
“I don’t know,” He said, shrugging, a grin on his face. “He’s… he reminds me of myself, y’know?”
Sam asked George what he thought of Tommy, and he shrugged. “He’s loud.”
They were a family, Sam realised one night. Even if George insisted they weren’t, even if Tommy refused to admit he cared, even if Alex said that he was too cool for them, they were a family.
He called his mom to tell her, and she laughed over the phone. “I’ve always wanted grandkids, you know.”
There’s a house down on Pandora Road.
For a long time it sat empty, just a man and his dog and his thoughts, but now, it’s a home, and that’s what it was built for.

For book asks, 3, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 23?
3. What were your top five books of the year?
1. The Wisdom of Crowds by Joe Abercrombie 2. Middlemarch by George Eliot 3. SCORPIA by Anthony Horowitz 4. Dune by Frank Herbert 5. Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
4. Did you discover any new authors that you love this year?
Anthony Horowitz and George Eliot
5. What genre did you read the most of?
Fantasy, what with all the Discworld & First Law rereads. I kinda hoped I'd have read enough Alex Rider to tip the balance into spy novels, but nnnope!
6. Was there anything you meant to read, but never got to?
Mostly classics. I wanted to read more George Eliot and want to at least give Tale of Two Cities a go. Also more fantasy - if the Farseer audiobooks weren't so diabolically dreadful I would likely have read the whole trilogy, I still want to try Lies of Locke Lamora even though I've heard mixed things. I'll hopefully get to them next year. There's also some I put on my tbr that I might take off. Still half-way through Left Hand of Darkness, and I'm wondering whether maybe Wizard from Earthsea isn't for me after all...
9. Did you get into any new genres?
Not really, though I don't tend to care about genre when looking at what to read, so much as style & characters. I read an autobiography (Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain), which I very rarely do, but I also don't class one book as 'getting into' a genre. "I dipped a toe in," is probably more accurate.
10. What was your favorite new release of the year?
I think the only new release I read was The Wisdom of Crowds by Joe Abercrombie.
12. Any books that disappointed you?
I rated Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir the worst book I read this year (2 stars), and I stand by that. It's a good book for the right person, but I am not that person by any means. The Poppy War by RF Kuang was also a big disappointment, I just didn't jive with any of the characters or the plot despite hearing good things. Circe was disappointing too - Madeline Miller can't seem to live up to my lofty expectations for these Greek myth stories, her prose is gorgeous but her characters are severely lacking. I still rated that one 3/5. God, all of these books are super popular and I feel bad for not enjoying them more! 😭
13. What were your least favorite books of the year?
Aside from Gideon and The Poppy War, Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz wasn't great, but I didn't expect it to be, and sure enough the rest of the Alex Rider series really takes off after the first book. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson was also very meh IMO, which I kinda expected too.
14. What books do you want to finish before the year is over?
Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula LeGuin. I feel like since I said semi-mean things about it I should probably finish it, but it's really kinda dull. I should endeavour to finish The Foxhole Court by Nora Sakavic, too. I started it ages ago but I think the audiobook is just not great and it's hard to tell characters apart. Also I put Royal Assassin by Robin Hobb on my Christmas list, so if I get that I would like to read it before Jan 1. Unfortunately I don't have many hours of work left in which to listen to audiobooks this year, but I think I could manage a good paperback. Having read 49 books (and DNF'd 4) I really wanna make it to 50 complete books.
15. Did you read any books that were nominated for or won awards this year (Booker, Women’s Prize, National Book Award, Pulitzer, Hugo, etc.)? What did you think of them?
Was The Wisdom of Crowds nominated for anything? If not, then no and also why not? If yes, then see below.
16. What is the most over-hyped book you read this year?
Gideon the Ninth, all the way. I also thought Every Heart A Doorway by Seanan McGuire was god awful for its ace rep, and honestly if anyone puts that on an 'ace rep' list I will personally scrunch it up into a ball and stomp on it. Not a bad story overall, but that part made me cringe and groan at the same time. I would maaaybe say Red, White & Royal Blue is over-hyped too, but I fucking love it.
18. How many books did you buy?
I am not in the habit of buying physical books. The only ones I bought were A Trouble With Peace in paperback and The Wisdom of Crowds hardback.
20. What was your most anticipated release? Did it meet your expectations?
The Wisdom of Crowds, and honestly? No it didn't. I thought it would be a rough ride emotionally, and it really was, probably more than I expected, but overall I think there are some genuine issues with it - it's certainly far from the near perfection that is The Trouble With Peace. Some of the plot lines turn out to be pretty contrived tbh, there's a fair number of wasted opportunities to bring most of the characters to more thematically satisfying conclusions, Risinau was a mistake, and... it was that person, really, Joe? Did you have to? But I can't deny that the main thing I wanted from the book was for Leo to be amazing, and oh my god did Abercrombie deliver on that score. He's probably one of my favourite characters of all time at this point, I just think he's so rich and complex that he warrants some kind of GOAT sticker 🦁. So yeah, for all my gripes - and there are many - the whole book is still 5/5, because I couldn't stop yelling the whole time, and considering just how ridiculously high my expectations were, I'm good with how it turned out. 😊
23. What’s the fastest time it took you to read a book?
A Christmas Carol took me 2h23 at 1.15 speed. Or, if you count it, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, which took me 15 minutes.

unnecessary dream smp (but not really) mock trial post
pt. 2
*warning: long post*
I have been having a terrible mock trial season so far, so I decided to cope by theorizing what the dream smp members would be like in mock trial. I will try to explain mock trial terms as much as possible, but all you really have to understand is that it is fake court. it is court roleplay, that’s it
Direct - an interrogation of your own witness to help you prove your case
Cross - an interrogation of the opposing teams’ witnesses to help you prove your case by poking holes in theirs
Case law - the “laws” of the fake world that the American Mock Trial Association set in place that set precedents for how each side is supposed to argue their cases; these are typically in the form of court cases
Voir dire -  a preliminary examination of a witness or a juror by a judge or counsel; this comes in the form of opposing counsel interrupting a direct in order to prove that the witness is not fit to make their testimony for one reason or another
Wiggling - the refusal to answer a question with a direct yes or no in order to not weaken a witness’ testimony
Defendant - the person/corporation being charged with a crime
Dream Team and Co.
Dream
everyone hates him as attorney and I say this with full confidence
because he’s hyper-aggressive during cross
but also because he’s right
like a lot
he knows case law like the back of his hand
he made flashcards
and he’s memorized this year’s case like immediately after it comes out
he made spreadsheets and like ten page document for every witness, including what they bring to the case and what makes them a weak witness
I mean come on this is the same dude who played one game and hyperfixated on it so hard that he became one of the best players on the internet
his team loves him because he basically writes their entire case for them, but they’re also worried for him because he just rewrites cases on whim in the middle of the night and doesn’t mention it until someone (usually sapnap) brings it up during practice
back on topic, he usually kills it as an attorney and people are like visibly terrified when he’s their attorney
he was pretty meh as a witness when he first started but he’s actually really good now
he used to be terrible at holding a character during a direct/cross
as he’s gone along and practiced, he’s gotten much better!!!
he’s terrifying to go against as an attorney or witness, but attorney is definitely his strong suit
George
george as an attorney is a concept that I hold near and dear to my heart
I feel like they treat him the same way people treat him playing Minecraft: by severely underestimating him because he makes dumb jokes and is super quiet, but he’s actually really good!!
he’s probably super nonaggressive during cross and directs, but he goes hard during voir dire
he’s like suspiciously good at voir dires
and like forcing people to impeachments
he decimates witnesses and gets their testimonies thrown out
his teammates are suspicious that the other teams are in on it because there is no reason why he should get this many voir dires/impeachments...but he does
(he’s just really good guys, I promise)
it’s definitely not because he’s cute and witnesses don’t know how to handle it and then they slip up and he comes down hard on them
people always forget he set, like, a record for number of voir dires at a tournament, so he has this reputation as being the weakest of the dream team
he’s such a strong attorney
but oh my god his witness
do not, and I repeat, DO NOT let this man be a witness
he cannot act
he just reverts back to his personality and he has No Inflection
you think the British accent will give you points?
they can’t make up for his inability to maintain a character
Sapnap
this man is fucking PSYCHOTIC whether he is attorney or witness
he goes absolutely feral on crosses and it intimidates witnesses so much, even if they’ve been competing for years
he’s just super good at crosses, but do not put him with an emotional witness because he has this remarkable inability to act comforting
his friends can come to him with anything and they’ll talk about it and he’ll comfort them
but it’s like his emotions turn off as soon as he enters a round
it’s fucking wild
you only put him as a witness if you want that witness to have a) feral characterization, b) sexual undertones, or c) both
his witnesses are infamous every year
he is very good for throwing people off their game with out-of-left-field characters and other teams hate him for it
every single one of his characters dresses up like a frat boy trying to dress for court and it’s so funny
but he still gets other competitors hitting him up after comps, men or women
Do Not try to approach him outside of trial though because he is the definition of a quiet kid if he’s not around his friend
he will be too awkward to talk to you
Karl
I love love love Karl to death, but he is not built to be an attorney
he only plays witness
and he’s really good at it!!
he’s super fun as a witness and he wiggles a lot on answers
attorneys hate that he wiggles a lot because it’s frustrating
but there is nothing they can do about it
he doesn’t get a lot of witness roles, but the ones he does get, he kills
he gets an absurd amount of thirst posts on the mock trial confessions facebook page
like an absurd amount
it’s become a joke amongst the dream team
there is a tally kept for how many thirst posts Karl gets
he doesn’t even have to compete
people will just see him in the room and become thirsty
an icon truly
it’s because his character outfits are hot as hell, literally all the time
you have to wear business casual/professional during trial and we all know that Karl would look hot as FUCK in a suit
also everyone in college mock trial is horny
Badboyhalo
bad in mock trial would kill as an attorney
everyone loves bad
even opposing teams
because he’s just so sweet??? for like no reason???
he’s done mock trial since freshman year high school and he’s competed against (and earned the respect of) some of the best mockers in the country
he’s notorious for being super kind outside of trial and during pre-trial
but he’s terrifyingly ruthless during trial
he’s similar to dream and george, but he has a much better reputation
there was an anonymous hate message about bad on the mock trial confessions page and there was a crusade to figure out who it was
(his teammates ended up snitching on him because bad is just that beloved)
he definitely received several scholarships because he is just that good
he does not like witness
so he just does not do it
Schlatt
schlatt is the most iconic mocker
like people outside of mock trial know who he is
he’s trended on twitter
he’s really good at every role he plays, even though he plays them to their most feral extremes
he played an expert last year and spent the entire time heavily implying that his character was god
the worst part is he received a witness award for it at
every
single
tournament
every single one
judges would make a point to commend him after matches
every single time his name got announced at closing ceremonies, people died inside
it was extremely amusing for everyone on the dream team
the same year as his maybe-god character, there was a rash of anonymous confessions about schlatt and wilbur soot from another team
a cross between them at competition was so extremely homoerotic that people began shipping them immediately
this is carried on for the entirety of the season
they played into it heavily
there is still an ongoing bet on whether or not they’ve fucked
Quakity
quackity always ends up playing the defendant and always plays them super sus
memes are made about him simply because he is so suspicious every time
he once brought a guitar and attempted to sing his entire direct because his character was a singer
he was asked to leave by the judge immediately
his teammates made him an award titled ‘quickest disqualification in mock trial history’
he treasures it like a child
his teammates love him because he is hilarious
but they also hate him because he always tries to make his characters’ background that they are or were at one point strippers
no matter if they already have a background laid out by AMTA, alex
he never plays attorney
there is no reason why
he just never does
this became extremely long for absolutely no reason, but I hope you enjoyed it. I wanna do another one for SBI and co, but not right now. I’m writing this at 215 with a Slimecicle video playing the background. I have to be up at 7 for a mock trial tournament
this is helping me cope

F1 Drivers as Films I have watched in lockdown and the rating I gave them on letterboxd
Lewis Hamilton: Moulin Rogue. I watched it on repeat for 4 days and listened to the soundtrack for weeks.  5 stars
Valtteri Bottas: Trespass Against Us. Nothing really happens, could have been good but its not. Strong ACAB vibes though. 3 stars
Sebastian Vettel: Call Me by Your Name. Lots of people loved this film but I was not one of them. 1 star
Charles Leclerc: Valiant. Animated talking pigeon. I watched this every night for 4 months when I was a child and I think its why I am how I am. 3 Stars
Max Verstappen: The Principles of Lust. I dont really remember what happened but it was really horny. 3 Stars
Alex Albon: Emo The Musical. It was so bad and cringey, it was almost good. Remember, Jesus would have been an emo. 1.5 stars
Lando Norris: About A Boy. Lando is literally Marcus and this film gives me awful flashbacks to GCSE English. 3 stars
Carlos Sainz: Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. I watched this film a dozen times and I have no shame in that. Some people hate it and thats okay. 5 stars
Kevin Magnussen: Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. Chaotic but I love it. Flawless and stunning. Probably problematic if you really looked at it but idc. 5 stars

Kimi Räikkönen: Submergence. I was waiting for something to happen and it never really did. It had good points but meh. 2 stars
Antonio Giovinazzi: Panic Room. My mum liked it. 3 stars
George Russell: Jungle. He just seems like the type to get lost in the jungle after trusting people he just met in a foreign country. 3 stars
Nicholas Latifi: Departure. This was worse than watching paint dry. 1 star
Daniel Ricciardo: Hop. Its like being on crack at Easter. Thoroughly entertaining. 2 stars
Esteban Ocon: Burlesque. My mum and many others loved this but I hated every second. 1.5 stars
Pierre Gasly: Teen Beach Movie. Truly a cinematic masterpiece, can't believe I hadn't watched it until this year. 3 stars
Daniil Kvyat: Cowboys & Aliens. I still don't understand what I watched, I could not tell you the purpose or plot. 2 stars

How do months in 2020 manage to last years and yet end in the blink of an eye???
Anyway I did finish my TBR so...
1 -The Vampire Armand (The Vampire Chronicles 5) by Anne Rice
🌟🌟🌟
Sooo, this one was my least favorite the 1st time I read this series and I hoped to like it more since I wasn't finding Armand as annoying in the first 4 books but gosh I really feel Anne Rice doesn't have much love for characters that are not Lestat, cuz I feel Armand could have been intresting but the book lacks the passion and wit Anne adds everytime she writes Lestat so yeah it was pretty meh. I love the cover tho.
2.-Dead and Alive (Prodigal Son #3) - Dean R. Koontz
🌟🌟🌟🌟
I was plesantly surprised. I hadn't very high expectatives for this one cuz even though I enjoyed book 2 I thought the pacing was waaaaay too slow, the plot wasn't advancing much. But this one was super cool, it picked up inconcluse storylines from the 1st book and that CLIFFHANGER!!!! The romance between the detectives was meh, like I wish I had liked them both more but the Erikas have my heart and I want to see more of Deucalion.
3.- Wild Cards I - George R. R Martin
🌟🌟
I was so disappointed. Ok so the concept is pretty cool. Like an alien virus is set loose and it causes some people to have amazing superpowers and other people gets terrible mutations, What's not to like??? But oh my fucking god. The mysogyny of this book. I can usually read books with mysogyny like I enjoy classics like 1984 despite the rampant way in which the protagonist hates woman. I couldn't handle it here. The female characters have less dimension than a sheet of paper and they depend entirely on the male characters it ruined the whole thing for me, and the writing was mediocre at times (I mean I know this was written by multiple authors but at points the quality of the writing droped like super hard) I am not picking the next one.
4.-My Sister the Serial Killer - Oyinkan Braithwaite
🌟🌟🌟🌟
I just love horror stories where a pretty girl is the killer. Like they are so enjoyable. And this particular story is so good because we have this 2 sisters, they are very different, one is like the epítome of beauty and the other is an average woman. The pretty one literally can do no wrong in everyones eyes and that’s just fine cuz she just so happens to kill her boyfriends. Her sister who is a nurse helps her clean up and get rid of the bodies because at first she believes they were abusive towards her sister but then she starts to get suspicious and things are super cool and intresting. I feel it could have gone deeper with some stuff but it was a great and quick read.
5.- Moloka'i - Alan Brenett
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I cried so much. This book is about Rachel, a girl diagnosed with leprosy at 7 years old during the 1890's and is sent away to live at the leprosarium in Moloka'i, Hawaii. We follow Rachel as she makes friends and family and loses them all over again to the sickness as she grows older. This book was so beautiful and pretty diverse (I loved Leilani I had never seen trans representation in a 19th century book) full of history and humanity. An amazing read I fully recommend it.
6.- New Suns: Original speculative fiction by people of color - Nisi Shawl.
🌟🌟🌟🌟
I Loved it. One of my main problems with anthologies is that inevitably I find some stories better than other but that was not the case here, every story had an intresting premise and amazing writing (my fave was maybe the one with the lesbian mermaid or the one were a woman raised the death to get rid of colonizers) like I need to read more from all these authors ASAP.
7.- Crime and Punishment - Fyodor Dostoyevski
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I love me some good classic. This one is really amazing , I love how much we get into Raskolinov's psyche and the things that lead him to comit the crime and the effect it has on him once he does. And all this conversation about morality and if it's ever valid to commit a crime even if it's for the "greater good" and all that good stuff about how people trapped in poverty are more likely to fall down the rabbit whole of prostitution and crime and yassssss it was good,
8.- A Clockwork Orange - Anthony Burgess
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I struggled like I should have known they would use the slang like in the movie (but I watched the movie in Spanish) so I was just vibing in the first few pages of the book barely understanding shit, except those words in other lenguages and then I started to pick it up and the book is so good??? Like Alex is awfull but the book actually makes a compeling argument about free will and the concept of choosing between good or evil. In general terms the movie is super accurate tho and yeah I really enjoyed this read.
9.- The Winter of the Witch (Winternight #3) - Katherine Arden
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I LOVED it. This book absolutely messed me up. Like I suffered a lot for my girl Vasya. And then all the stuff with the Bear and Morozco and the war, ahhhhh it was a LOT, but the ending was pretty satisfying, I cried tons and I am hoping we get another saga maybe following Marya this time????? I will just read anything Katherine Arden writes tbh.
10.-Lifestyles of Gods and Monsters - Emily Roberson
🌟🌟🌟
It was ok??? I wished it had been more about the sisters together as opposed to make Ariadne "not like the other girls" I am sick of that trope, and the "beautiful but doesn't know it" and less about the romance. Like the premise of retelling this greek myth as a reality show actually picked my interest but the execution wasn't that great it had lots of clichés I hate and mentioned before, what I kinda liked was that even though Ariadne had a romance she decides to start over by herself when things kinda fall apart and she is maybe open to dating another dude at the end, which honestly was a relief for me cuz I feel a lot of time YA pushes this idea that your first love is the only love you'll ever feel and that’s dumb .
11.-The Glass Menagerie - Tennessee Williams
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I really love this play, well Tennessee Williams plays in general, and aire felt like re reading this one. I love Laura so much and it was a pleasure to read this again.
12.-In the Miso soup - Ryu Murakami
🌟🌟🌟
This is a very gorey book. Lots of graphic murders and violence, mentions of the sex trade in Japan. This was a very intresting read, lots of insight into the japanese society and how this very cliché image people have of it is completely wrong. Again sex trade is heavily discused as our protagonist makes a living out of taking foreigners to experience the sex clubs in Tokyo he meets this sketchy american guy who hires him, our protagonist has a feeling he might be a murderer and it goes from there. I really enjoyed it a lot and might consider reading another book by Ryu Murakami.
13.- The Downstairs Girl - Stacey Lee
🌟🌟🌟
It was amazing to read about an asian girl in the post-civil war era, and how this minority kind of lived in a limbo cuz white people didn't think much about them when making up all this crap ass rules about where PoC where supposed to live in or sit. And our protagonist Jo, is really a charming girl with a lot of opinions and so passionate I loved her so much. It was a bit cheesy at times, and I saw the book's big reveal coming but still it was a pretty good read.
15.- Agamemnon - Aeschylus
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I am weak for the greek plays. And this rocks so much. Chlymenestra is a queen, I stan her so hard. This play always makes me feel so bad for Cassandra, like how shitty is it to have the power to make super accurate predictions but no one ever believes you???

Hello TT! Hope you are doing good and thinking about Siddhant at all times. I was wondering, have you every watched Grey's Anatomy? Do you still follow it? If you used to watch, what made you give up? Also, your general take on most characters?
I have watched Grey’s! I gave up a little after Christina left, because she was my favourite character and her bond with Meredith was the highlight of the show for me. Plus the constant tragedy just got to me, man. Like how much can ONE set of people undergo!?! So I gave up at a place where I felt was a good endpoint for all my characters.
Meredith: Didn’t like her in the start, but she grew on me and I loved her by the end of my watch. I really really liked seeing a female lead struggling with her mental health and life’s BS and coming out stronger on most occasions. Very very relatable.
Derek: Dreamy and all, but quiiiiiite egotistic. So I oscillated between loving and hating him depending on what was happening in the episode.
Christina: After Kashaf Murtaza, Christina is probably the most “me” character in media. More than one female friend of mine calls me their Christina, because that’s the kinda person I am in a friendship. Unconditionally supporting, but also will give you the plain truth (though maybe not as tactlessly as her.) I’m so glad she got the perfect happy ending for her character.
Alex: Was quite an ass in the first few seasons, but quickly grew to be my fav. boy when he got soft. His friendship with Meredith after Christina left, and they were the only two of the OG group left, had all my heart.
Izzie + George: Hate. I haaaated them both. Just annoying to me till the day they died. The show got soooo much better to me once I didn’t have to tolerate the two of them.
Lexie: Annoying to me, most times but also endearing. A true younger sibling.
Mark: Started out mehhhh, but I was quite heartbroken to lose him by the end. A good bro to Derek/Arizona/Jackson.
Bailey: Bosssssssssssss bitch! Love her. I wanna see a female character of her caliber on ITV. I guess Dr. Kirti on DMG was the closest.
Jackson: Love love love. So dreamy. I was kinda hoping that brief spark he had with Christina would turn into something bigger, but ultimately they weren’t really right for each other.
Arizona: Another one of my absolute fav characters. I loved watching her accept her sexuality and the friendship she had with Mark.
Callie: Loved her at first but then she cheated on Arizona and I could never get over it. That plus the whole thing about her leg. Like ugh. That character really annoyed me towards the end.
Dr. Webber: So many complicated emotions, but ultimately, Dad.
The rest of the characters are mostly too minor for me to remember after all these years, so meh.
PS - Along with Rumi, I also quoted this at my BFF in a letter I wrote for her wedding.

Hi friend! Another GA question for you when/if you want to answer it: what are some of the ships, characters etc you've changed your mind about? So, for example 1. I was 'meh' on Jo and Jolex for a long time. Now I absolutely LOVE Jo, and Jolex has reached OTP status :) 2. I initially loved George but grew to dislike him. 3. I wasn't sure about Maggie and now she's one of my favorite characters. 4. I was convinced the earliest seasons were better but now actually prefer some of the later seasons
Ohhhhh boy! That’s such an interesting question, because it’s fofteen years worth of development in seasons! Thank you for always making my day better with your questions!
1 - I loved Izzie and Izzex so effinf much! When I first watched the first seasons (I think I watched them on a random website that only had the first few ones, before I got netflix) she was probably my favorite character! I thought she was perfect! Then I rewatched seasons 1-3 so I could refresh my memories, and could not for the life of me understand why! She seemed so... Forced, unenjoyable, almost like a caricature of the character I remembered, and the ship was making me grow a third eye from the radiation...
2 - Sam about Jo/Jolex as you, actually! I liked her, actually, I just thought she was... Predictable? From the moment she and Alex started interacting, I knew they’d be together. When he called her princess, I knew a tragic backstory was coming. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, it just made me a little “meh” on her until she revealed more and more of her awesomeness.
3 - I mentioned this in my “female character ranking” post, but I didn’t really like Arizona when she first showed up! I thought she was a bit... Biphobic? Kinda insensitive? Replacing Erica (whom I actually liked) too fast? She had great moments from the start, and now she’s one of my absolute favorites, but there were some counterpoints in the very beginning that almost tipped the scale.
4 - I used to hate the musical episode, now I really like rewatching it because it’s kinda fun but also interesting and Sara’s singing is just whoa.
6 - Owen. I loved him in the beginning. Like. A lot. I thought he was amazing and sweet and that he and Cristina were meant to be the greatest couple on earth, and (because I was a fool) really wished that they would have kids! Then the seasons went on and he got toxic as all hell and I went to rewatch it and... Yikes. Sometimes those good traits shine through still and it just makes me so bitter for what could have been.
7 - Jaggie. I was one of the few people that loved it from the start, but now it has grown stale and filled with more conflict than will to work around conflict and (SPOILER ALERT, IN CASE YOU HAVENT SEEN THE NEW EP SKIP THE CROSSED OUT PART) i’m almost happy they broke up and are moving on. I still like them, but not actively ship them anymore. Lets see what this new season brings.
8 - I have told you about this already, but I really shipped Merlink. Like. I even made some edits for them on insta. I though they were lovely together and I was sad when she picked Deluca (although now they’re, out of the couples still on the show, my otp).
9 - I disliked Stephanie in her first few appearances, because I thought she was such a filler character, there to have someone Jo could dialogue with and be a more 3d character. Then she grew on me a lot, and I was devastated when she left! She’s amazing and I miss her.
10 - Same as you with Maggie and old/new seasons!
11 - I used to really like Thatcher, and think he was completely blameless in anything wrong with Mer’s upbringing. Then I matured a little and realized there’s no excuse for abandoning your child like he did, without anything in the way besides his unwillingness to stress himself arguing with Ellis. He had all the right to his kid, he had the means, he just chose not to bother. And left his daughter to a woman he knew was neglectful. That’s a no for me.
I think that’s all, hope you enjoy reading this! What did you think of the new ep, case you have seen it?
