Self care is imagining Steve trying to propose to Eddie multiple times but each time something goes wrong and Steve never even gets to pull the ring out of his damn pocket.
It gets to a point where they're lying in bed, Eddie's got his dorky reading glasses on as he re-reads the lord of the rings for the millionth time. Steve tried to propose to him yesterday while they were out for dinner, but just as he was pulling the ring out of his pocket, Eddie managed to spill an entire bowl of soup on himself and they ended up having to go home.
He thinks 'fuck it', he's going to propose right now. He leans over the bed to reach into the pocket of his discarded jeans and pulls out the ring box. He doesn't even say anything, he just sits up and places it on Eddie's chest and looks at him expectantly.
"Babe, what's this?"
"Just open it."
"No, I don't want my birthday present early."
"For fuck sake." Steve groans into his hands before reaching over and opening the box, the gold band he'd spent weeks picking out now staring Eddie right in the face. "Do you want to be my husband or not? I've been trying for weeks!"
Eddie stares at the box in shock, his glasses slipping down his nose a little before he quickly recovers and fucking shrugs his shoulders. "Yeah, I guess, that sounds cool." He says with a shit eating grin. Steve would hit him but he can see the tears in Eddie's eyes as he picks up the ring box to admire the pretty, gold ring. "You're taking my last name though."
"Fuck off. I'm the one who proposed. You take my last name."
"Steve, I love you, but Harrington is an ugly last name. It would totally cramp my style."
"Fine. Give me back the ring." He holds out his hand and makes a 'gimme' motion.
Eddie smiles. "No way." And then he's leaning over to rifle around in his bedside drawer full of nerdy things and then he's placing a different box in Steve's outstretched hand. "You can have that ring."

You must have really ticked off someone in your past life.
There was no other explanation.
Because how else would you explain your current situation?
Not only had you somehow ended up in the past, which your mind was still trying to make sense.
The past, not a dream, but the past.
You stared at the person in front of you before looking towards your hands.
If it was anyone else, you would have an inkling of how to deal with them.
General Lilia, done, been there and survived his dream self and know his future cute self very well.
Baul Zigvolt…you would eventually wear him down like you did his grandson.
Hell even with Meleanor Draconia, you would somehow be able to deal with her. If dealing with Malleus and Lilia’s dream world gave any indication.
But this…
A glass came into view.
“Here, have some water.”
You numbly took the glass that was offered to you, barely glancing up.
You took a sip and the man in front of you nodded his head in that oh so familiar manner that almost had you choking on water. It made your heart ache at the familiar actions.
He turned back around to talk to his colleague.
This man?
Well, he was the Knight of Dawn of course.
…of course.
You were fucking screwed.

I'm thinking about Mafia Bodyguard! Eijro and I'm too busy to write another fic so....
18+ under the cut
@2dsimpomg thank you for encouraging this idea
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who finds himself falling more in love with you every day. But he keeps it to himself and keeps your relationship professional and friendly. Katsuki might have his head if he did otherwise.
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who is tasked with keeping you safe whenever Katsuki can't be around, which can be a lot sometimes when things are particularly busy and Eijiro isn't cracking someone skull.
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who's big and tall and handsome with his naturally jet black hair and both arms sleeved in tattoos. Women falling all over themselves for him isnt something uncommon to see but he's only got eyes for one person. You. And he knows it might be his downfall but doesn't really care.
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who's a teddy bear to you, so caring and attentive, and would never even say a harsh word to you if he could help it. But with other people it's... different. After living and dealing in the criminal underground throughout his early twenties, he's done alot of things that would chill you to the bone. Where you see his pearly grin, others see the teeth of a shark ready for blood.
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who one time while Katsuki was out of town and he was helping watch the house for security, had to coax you out of crying when you were a little too tipsy on wine and tried to make a move on him and he rejected you. Thinking you might not remember this anyway, he confessed how beautiful he thought you were and how it would be the best night of his life if he could. But it wasn't right. Not without Katsuki knowing.
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who was pleasantly surprised to be invited for dinner not too long after Katsuki returned home. The dinner going well with him and Katsuki discussing business after with drinks in his office.
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who after about two glasses of brandy watched with his softly lidded ruby eyes as you made your way into the office, interrupting the conversation to sit in Katsuki’s lap and steal a drink from his glass. Eijiro adjusted himself in his seat when he saw your lips moving sensually down Katsuki’s jaw to his throat, going back up to whisper something in his ear.
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who tries to hear what you're saying to the blonde but not able to catch it before Katsuki chuckles a laugh. "Being a dirty little slut tonight huh? Fine if it's cool with him". Eijiro doesn't know what to say or think when you leave Katsuki’s lap to sink to your knees in front of him, nuzzling your face into his thigh. "Will you fuck me Eijiro? Please?"
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who can only nod and make a soft confirming noise in the back of his throat before his big hands were down around your waist, pulling you up to straddle him. He wasted no time in kissing you, wanting to do it for so long that he bad to suppress a groan when he felt your soft lips. Your tongue brushing his lips until he finally opened and he felt you moan against his tongue.
Mafia Bodyguard Eijiro! Who's left hand is on your ass and his right his softly kneading your breast as your pent up emotions poured through the sloppy kiss. Until Katsuki cleared his throat and had you both freezing.
"Before this goes too far let me make myself another drink and we'll go to the bedroom" he said, rising from his leather chair and going over to the mini bar, "that's where my nice chair is and I want to see this".
Should I do the smut scene? Questions...

Theory: Viren Will Heal the Sunforge
Viren healing the Sunforge? That's a bit mad, isn't it?
It is. I know it is. But, hear me out. Look at Viren's arc and his "Greatest Hits" (lol) and I think there is an argument that could say: his story has been building toward this.
Viren's path toward darkness began when Soren got sick and Viren chose to do the unthinkable, the unforgivable, to heal his son. And that destroyed Viren's body--and, ironically, his family.
He remembered how he’d been filled with hope, certainty even, that this would change everything. He remembered hurrying home, ready to be forgiven. And even more clearly, he remembered the bitter hole left in his soul when Lissa told him his restored appearance changed nothing. Even though dark magic had helped their family, saving their son’s life—she seemed to fear him and hate him now, and he knew he could never repair that. (Book One: Moon)
So, keep that in mind. His corruption, his path, began when he healed his son ("sun"), his "golden" boy. This moment didn't only ruin his physical appearance, it collapsed the foundations of his family and began to slow descent downward.
Now, skip forward a bit, while still remaining in a time before the events of the main series. What was Viren's next Big Act on his journey?
... I think it was the Heart of the Titan.
“If we can hunt this monster and slay it, I can use the heart of the titan in a powerful spell that will warm the land, and allow us to magically grow an incredible bounty.” (Viren, 2x05)
To save Duren from a famine, Viren proposed they slay a Magma Titan and use its heart in a Dark Magic spell. This was a massive undertaken with devastating consequences, profound loss of life, and it was something Viren could singularly do:
“Viren... Without him to perform the spell, the heart is worthless, and this was all for nothing.” (Sarai, 2x06)
Once again, Viren's path of darkness yielded positive results, but at a great cost. With blood on his hands, Viren was able to do something only the sun can do: generate life and heat to a dying land.
Aaaaand this starts to bring us into the present. Because, of course, this moment--the crossing into Xadia to kill the Magma Titan--is what led to the series of dominoes that culminates in the main plot of the series.
In the main series arc, Viren's Big Act on his path of corruption and darkness is that he facilitates the destruction of Lux Aurea, the corruption of the Sun Nexus/Sunforge. (Note: I know he did a lot of other horrible stuff, but this was the kind of pinnacle of his badness and the climax of his arc. His point of no return.)
Tumblr media
"But first, there is something we need here in Lux Aurea." "You want us to attack the stronghold of the Sunfire elves? But we need to preserve our forces for the final confrontation." "Viren, I’m nothing if not elegant and efficient. We’ll risk as few lives as possible… one." "Ah, mine." (Aaravos, Viren, 3x07)
Using Viren as a vessel, Aaravos was able infiltrate Lux Aurea, bite Pharos (the Sunfire Priest), taint the Sun Staff, and then spread corruption to the Sunforge, coating it in darkness. This also cemented Viren's feet to the path, there was no turning back now, and only death awaited him.
The destruction of Lux Aurea has had massive repercussions for the plot at large, fueling the events in Act 2 of this story. It has led Karim towards his own path of darkness in a bid to restore his home to its former glory (and turning him against his sister Janai).
So, to recap, Viren's story has included such highlights as:
Healing his son ("sun")
Warming the land (... like a sun)
Corrupting the Sunforge (which is symbolically the sun itself)
And what does his future look like? What ominous warning do we have lingering about good old Viren?
"The Sun Will Rise... And You Will Not"
(like Viren is just surrounded by sun imagery, isn't he?)
Of course this line is Aaravos trying to scare Viren into compliance. On the surface, this seems to be implying Viren will die at sunrise if he doesn't perform the Infantis Sanguine spell. And, sure, that could be what it means. But, like a lot of things, I think there could possibly be a double-meaning.
If Viren does heal the Sunforge in the future, this line could also apply, especially if the act kills him (or nearly kills him). It would be a sacrificial act of Viren drawing the poison out of the Sun and into his own body. Much like when healing Soren caused Viren's body to start to rot, pulling all that darkness out of the Sun Nexus could have horrifying consequences for Viren's health. Perhaps fatal consequences.
Yes, the sun will rise again, but Viren? He won't. (Maybe. I personally think he'll pull through.)
The "Why" of it All: Why Viren? Why a human?
Because I believe a human has to be the one to restore Lux Aurea, to teach Karim (and the prejudiced ones of the Sunfire elves) a vital lesson.
Take a look at Karim's hatred against humans and his belief of their inferiority in "After Darkness":
Karim’s blood flared with anger at the sight of her grin. He could not expect a human to understand what they’d come here to do, or what they’d lost.
and
“He was my friend,” Karim spat. “I will mourn him. And this is my home, and I will save it. You— you don’t belong here. You never belonged here, human.”
If a lowly human were the one to help restore Lux Aurea back to glory, it would show Karim that humans can help--and, more, that their union with Xadia is the path forward out of Darkness.
Viren healing the Sunforge would also invert what Khessa had said about humanity (to Viren's face):
“Ugh! Humans disgust me. Your kind could not be satisfied with what you were given. So you take what is not yours. You take it within you, and you turn it to filth.”
If Viren "took it [the corruption] within" him, he would be purifying it instead. Which would be a nice little bookend, I think.
Furthermore! Viren healing the Sunforge after he was the one to break it in the first place would bring new meaning to a particular season 4 subplot:
Lucia and Yonnis.
I mean come on! A human extinguished a sacred flame and then had to work to redeem herself to the Sunfire elves. Janai decreed that forgiveness and restitution was the more noble and just course of action.
“Gone are the days where we shed blood for justice. If we are to rebuild, we must do so together. In mercy. In compassion. Your hands shall make your amends. Under the guidance of our priests, you will build a shrine here...one where soul candles may burn without threat to the camp.”
So, like, Viren extinguished one big old candle, yeah? It would be poetic to let him try to fix it.
Anyway, on that note, let's look at this message Janai said to Karim after her judgment of Lucia:
“The Sun gives her light, but nurturing the seed is the work of our lifetimes. This is how we are going to rebuild, Karim. With patience. With faith. You and I... We won't live to see this new day. No, we won't. But the future will be bright again.”
... and, hey, that last line! What does that remind me of?
"To fulfill your wishes, of course. Is your wish to rule Xadia?" "I wish for humanity to flourish. And it cannot flourish with a knife forever at its throat." "So, you wish to conquer Xadia?" "No! No, my goal is a bright future for humanity."
I just think it's neat. 🥔

I just realized something
Tumblr media
I just had to throw this thought out into the ether so here we are. Y'know I've seen people complain about not getting how Big Mama talks in ROTTMNT but I realized something the more I thought about it.
She speaks in baby talk.
And I don't mean literal baby talk but that style of talking to little kids. Just think about it. I don't exactly have the script memorized but "use the dimbly door" and especially "turtly boos"
isn't this the sort of words you might use when talking to a small child? "look at the cutie wootie! I think he needs a nappy wappy!" It totally is the same.
Think of a characture of those rich people with chihuahua's and how they talk to them. I'm pretty sure it would match up. Only no one realizes it because she uses it in a threatening sinister tone. Which is insteresting to think about because if that's the case is she doing it on purpose? Is the baby talk a reflection of her contempt of others or is it maybe an affectation to make you underestimate her? I think it could be either. However given her name is Big Mama the fact that she talks to everyone like they are children fits. Maybe that's why the writers wrote her that way.
Anyway that's my theory on her dialogue. If anyone cares to continue the discussion I'd love to see it.

Mother Markova
Title: Immortal Queen/Mother Markova
Full name: Cathrine Markova
Family: [Redacted] (Partner, unrecognized and banished) Katya (Daughter) Nikita (Daughter) Anastasia (Daughter) Lyra (Daughter) Alexie (Daughter)
History: When Cathrine was an infant, the Markova family, was lead by three men who dubbed themselves the ‘Three Kings’. While not of Royal blood, their hubris and trumped their desire of maintaining the families power and reputation. Over time, the once great name of Markova began to fall into obscurity, the Three Kings began arguing amongst themselves, pinning blame on one another which only continued the families dwindling size and strength.
Cathrine became a fierce warrior, building renown for herself, joining PMC groups and eventually forming one of her own. This is where she found her partner [redacted]. The two of them would grow close, planning to have a child, however, fate would have other plans as the Three Kings began to notice her power and above all else, her influence.
Fearing for their positions, the men outcasted Cathrine. To their surprise, she challenged them. No one in decades had challenged the Three Kings, all of which powerful in their own rights, to a duel for the position as head of family.
They accepted. And they were slain.
All three of them, their heads tumbled to the sacred grounds in which they ruled over the family and Cathrine, now a legend among the audience for her ruthless yet beautiful display of combat and cunning intelligence, accepted her as their new leader.
Over time, her rule and influence brought the family back to its original power. Inciting new rules for the new generation to follow, promoting strength above all else and pride in one’s own action. Positions of power would be fought for by combat, as only the powerful may lead and that was final. This lead the Markova’s in a new age of prosperity, of which is still now being realized.
As time went on, her beauty and skill had never dulled since that day when she became the new leader. Those closest to her would regard her as the Immortal Queen, everyone else would regard her as Mother.
This all didn’t come with its own drawbacks. After four children, Cathrine’s partner would soon be banished after a fight that questioned her power and accused her of being as power mad and tyrannical as the Three Kings before her. Months after he was banished, Cathrine found she was pregnant with a fifth child. A bad Omen amongst the family.
It was the man’s last laugh, a constant reminder of what she once had as the moment her eyes would meet the newborn’s own, she would be met with the same eye color he once had. A brilliant gold.

I've always been very confused when it comes to WWX status within the Jiang sect.
He's a disciple, he's treated like a disciple, but then suddenly people start calling him a servant.
Can servants be disciples? Is it a case of not being gentry but you're part of the sect so that means you're called servant?
There's aren't any other disciples being called servants that I've noticed.

"Is Suppressing the Dragon Worth the Cost?" A HOTD Episode 6 Analysis Part. 1
So episode 6 of House of the Dragon might be my favorite episode so far. I know many people aren't huge fans of the time jumps, but I think they did an incredible job of transitioning us from episode 5 to 6.
Thanks to the great work by the creators, I have a lot of thoughts about this episode. There were a lot of things that stood out. Still, the ultimate triumph of this episode is Rhaenyra's character and how they intertwined Daemon and Rhaenyra's lives without having them be anywhere near each other or have any long discussions about each other.
This will mostly be about Rhaenyra, but I'll also talk about Daemon and their relationship.
This will be a two-parter because I have a lot to say. So again, proceed at your own risk lol
From the very first scene ,the episode wanted to immerse us in the same world we've experienced before but under dramatically different circumstances. The creators mentioned they approached this episode almost like a pilot episode because they had to reintroduce us to the new actors, and you could tell this was their goal.
In the last shot in episode 5 of young Rhaenyra, she was in tears at her rushed wedding to Laenor after her wedding festivities were ruined by not only murder and mayhem but also by Daemon. It was a striking final moment that the story had been building to the entire season so far.
We saw her struggle with the idea of marriage. We saw her struggle with the trauma of losing her mother in childbirth. We saw her struggle with her gender in a society that wanted to dismiss her despite her blood and claim. We also saw her struggle with the consequences of messy entanglements with Criston and Daemon. We saw her fire, her curiosity, her determination, her sexual awakening, the powerful moment where she tells Criston she is the crown, and where she challenges Daemon to take her as his wife. So with that Rhaenyra in mind the question going forward, at least for me was: who is Rhaenyra going to be 10 years later? We knew she would mature but mature in what way? What would her life look like in King's Landing as a married woman who is heir to the throne?
That is the question this episode wanted to answer for the viewers and the answer we got was actually pretty heartbreaking but incredibly compelling.
We open with Rhaenyra in childbirth; the thing we knew was the source of trauma for young Rhaenyra. Choosing this as the opening image of Rhaenyra is very effective because it's a stark reminder that life comes at your fast. We went from young Rhaenyra getting married to older Rhaenyra in the middle of childbirth. Rhaenyra spent a lot of time in the early episodes lamenting about childbirth and fearful of the possibility of dying in childbirth. Then boom, we finally get the chance to meet older Rhaenyra and what is she doing? Having a baby. The last childbirth we actually saw on screen was her mother's tragic labor which makes this an even more effective choice, especially since her mother told her she would be in the very position before she died and Rhaenyra in all of her young naivety, challenged that idea.
My favorite part of her birth scene is how they completely turned her earlier ideas upside down. Sure Rhaenyra is in pain and exhausted but when she actually delivers her child, she is overjoyed. Instead of pregnancy and childbirth being something she hates, it's now a source of immense joy for her. She rushes to cradle her son; she is beaming at her child like a doting mother; she's happy when she's informed that he's healthy. It makes you completely forget that at her young age, Rhaenyra wanted nothing to do with this.
It's a great moment and a great way to introduce a new version of a character, and on first watch, it's easy to get lulled into the idea that wow, Rhaenyra's life turned out nothing like she wanted it to but look how happy she is! Maybe her life is okay.
Except we're quickly shown that it's anything but okay and how Rhaenyra responds to all the ways her life is not okay quickly makes you realize that the woman we see how is drastically different in a lot of ways that break your heart but also in a lot of ways she's the same.
She barely has time to even hold the child she just delivered before Alicent requests the child be brought to her.
I've seen many Alicent fans try to absolve her of these cruel actions towards Rhaenyra here by claiming Alicent asked for the baby and not Rhaenyra but it's clear to Rhaenyra that Alicent is asking for her. What mother who just delivered her child 5 minutes ago is letting that infant out of her sight and into the arms of a woman she has strife with alone? She knows exactly what Alicent wants, and she is forced to give it to her, and she does so without much fight. When he aid tells her she should remain in bed she acknowledges that's exactly what should happen but it's not what she can do at the moment. This is the first real hint that Rhaenyra has changed. Gone is the youthful petulance, the stomping of her foot when she is required to do something she does not want to do, and the outright disobedience. It appears she's at the mercy of Alicent and does little in this moment and later on to change that which is NOT the Rhaenyra we learned before.
Even her approach, while she's being humiliated, is different. When a Lord stops her to wish her congratulations, she gracefully indulges him even though she's clearly humiliated and in pain in the moment. In her scene with Laenor she doesn't asks him or even command him to be with her, she only shows relief that he's there and resigns herself to the physical and emotional toll of what she has to do next will take on her.
The fact that she does this shows us that young Rhaenyra is still in there. She's always been brave and proud, determined to look a challenge in the eye. We also learn that she called the midwife a cunt during childbirth, which feels like something old Rhaenyra would do. She's also very sarcastic and firm with Laenor. It's a credit to Emma's acting because Rhaenyra feels the same yet different all at the same time. However, the main thing I noticed during all these early scenes is that Rhaenyra's personality is muted. She indulged in Alicent's bullshit about how she should be resting. She clearly holds back when Alicent makes things awkward with her shady comments and looks, and she holds back when Laenor names her son in front of Viscerys. She clearly wants to snatch her child away from Alicent but never tries to do it. On one hand you could argue that she was exhausted after childbirth and didn't have energy for the flare she had in her youth but it's clear that much of what we see is not just exhaustion, it's resignation.
She's resigned herself to dealing with Alicent's pettiness and humiliation without much fight. On the surface she even seems to have a good supportive relationship with Laenor but we quickly learn that her marriage has some pretty big cracks during their conversation about naming Joffrey, but even in that conversation, there is a sense of resignation in Rhaenyra's voice and behavior when she mentions that Laenor hasn't been interested in their affairs lately. All of these things moved me and immediately made Rhaenyra an even more compelling character and it was only her first scene of the episode! All the ways Rhaenyra has muted herself and resigned herself to her fate become even more heartbreaking as the episode continues.
To Rhaenyra's credit, even of her life seems like it's not what we expected or she expected it to be she still seems to have a generally happy life. Her children are seemingly loved and adored by everyone around them, even their uncle Aegon, who has more fondness for them than his brother. Her children are also well-raised kind boys. It shows in their excitement over picking out an egg for their brother and how Jacaerys proudly tells his mother he let Lucerys choose the egg and Lucerys politely thanks him. You can see the love for her boys all over her face and the happiness she feels when she's around them. So maybe her mellowed out behavior is partially for their sake, but I don't think that's all there is to it.
But her mellowed-out behavior even shows with Harwin. They've been lovers for a decade and now have three children, and yet she shows restraint when she's around him, even when they are alone. She doesn't proudly relish in the affair. She doesn't immediately cling to him when no one is looking. She's a bit playful and clearly not unhappy around him, but there is also a sense that she's not even completely herself around even him these days. They interact like two people who are participating in this very modern and healthy family dynamic. Still, Rhaenyra doesn't interact with him like they have a burning passion and love for each other. You get the sense that Hawrwin is completely devoted to her, but Rhaenyra may keep him at a certain distance. It greatly contrasts how she used to behave with Daemon in her youth and with how she interacted with Criston. She was brazen in her desire to have Daemon's attention. She constantly found ways to stroke the flames of his affection for her, even while in public at her wedding festivities. There was a burning under the surface that often felt both comforting and dangerous to her. With Criston, she was openly flirtatious and engaged with him in a manner that was completely carefree.
Sure her dynamic with Harwin comes with the added weight of her being a married woman but this is the same Rhaenyra that offered Criston the chance to be her side piece during her marriage, the same Rhaenyra that seemed to relish in the idea that she can pursue her own pleasures outside of her marriage. And yet when we see her again with someone she's been with for a decade, there is none of that playfulness, excitement,or fire she once had, not even when they are alone with each other. It's a very telling dynamic when you really look at it.
One of the most interesting things about this is we see another character in the same position in this episode. Daemon.
When we first meet Daemon this episode he's doing tricks with Laena on Caraxes in Pentos like a showman. Then we see over the last 10 years he's created a peaceful and interesting life in the city with his wife, who is expecting a 3rd, and his two daughters. He's seemingly happy and content on the surface and seems to have moved on from his younger days of chaos and scandals. Unlike what we saw with Rhaenyra, Daemon doesn't appear all that changed, he just seems to be in a different more mature place in life but like Rhaenyra we learn early on that his life isn't as it appears either.
He has an argument with Laena that revels exactly how he's changed. Laena, wants to leave and return home. Daemon wants to stay in Pentos as pampered eternal guests with no responsibilities or connections to anything that's happening at him. This is coming from the same Daemon that spent the first half of the season doing anything and everything he could do to get his brother's attention. The same Daemon that was constantly exiled only to return to his family. The same Daemon that told Rhaenyra he returned from the Stepstones because he longed for the comforts of home. Something has changed in Daemon.
Even when Laena points out that he's the blood of old Valyria, something Daemon took great pride in 10 years ago, he says that old Valyria is gone; he doesn't belong anywhere. That's one of my favorite lines from him this episode because even before, you always got the sense that Daemon was lost; he was drifting, searching for his place in the realm currently ruled by his brother. Many of his actions were those of a man with nothing except his family, the family he loves and resents equally. But old Daemon had fight left in him. Old Daemon was a drifter that still believed he had a purpose as a part of the Targaryen legacy that he couldn't let go of. New Daemon appears to be indifferent, but he's really resigned. He's accepted what he's always felt, that he doesn't belong anywhere. He's just like Rhaenyra in how he's given up the fight of his younger years. He no longer seeks his brother's validation or Rhaenyra's affection, and he's so determined to let go that he refuses to return, instead choosing to live his life completely disconnected from his home with the beautiful family he's created.
On the one hand, the resignation and acceptance that Rhaenyra and Daemon show can be admirable. Sometimes you do have to give up youthful ideals and ground yourself in reality as a part of growing and evolving. But how admirable it is can only be determined by how the person who gives up responds to no longer having what they have let go and by the toll it takes on them after they've let go.
With both Rhaenyra and Daemon we see that their resignation hasn't been liberating, it has been suffocating, especially for Rhaenyra.
My heart truly went of your Rhaenyra because as the episode progresses, we see just how much she's had to endure. How much she's had to suppress who she is to make her life work, and it still continues to crumble around her. It makes you wonder if suppressing herself was even worth it in the first place.
My answer is no, and I suspect the answer within the narrative is no as well because what we see next for Rhaenyra and for Daemon shows that it does nothing but slowly eat away at them inside. If affects their relationships with their family in Daemon's case, and forces Rhaenyra to endure humiliation until she wants to just give up and run away and that's why it so compelling from a character standpoint.
With that said, I guess I'll save the rest for part 2.

Read through the cult of the lamb wiki cause I don't have the energy to watch a playthrough and
I'm just thinking about how lamb is sort of a play on how sheep's are animals commonly used in sacrifice, and often being viewed as innocent. Lamb clearly isn't any of that.
And I'm just thinking like. Imagine if there was like. A wolf character who was basically just the opposite of that. Soft. Kind. Innocent. But due to the image of the wolf, people feared them instead of lamb. Of course, who would trust a wolf?
Just. The difference between the Cultist Lamb and a Peacemaker Wolf.... hmmm
Also off topic kinda but absolutely obsessed with narinder and shamura they are everything to me

Adaine and Fabian is long glances across a room, taking on an etiquette that only those two can understand. It's sitting together at a party when she has a panic attack and everyone else being scared off because it is fucking Fabian she's sat with. It's sword training and that slightly odd rivalry that extends to the dinner table, academics, and even silly small things. It's Fabian making Adaine play naughts and crosses in the back during a lesson when she's about to panic, it's her almost motivational speech when he gets into a depressive episode. It's also rumours that they hate each other because all they ever do is joke and argue.
