AITA for turning someone in for academic dishonesty?
I’m an American IB diploma candidate, and this ask does center around that, so sorry if we all just sound unbearably seventeen-years-old.
If you don’t know what the IB diploma is, think of it as if you had to write a bunch of essays and take a bunch of classes and do a bunch of service hours and then take AP tests on all those classes and add the AP scores together, and if they add up to a certain number, you get a special diploma that looks good to colleges.
Only eight people in the entire grade (we’re seniors and our exams are happening so we’re at the very end) are left in the IB diploma program right now because we made it this far and are all hoping our exam scores and essays. The program isn’t super popular at our school so we tend to have to mostly prepare ourselves for exams and such, so we’re all very proud of ourselves for getting this far and hoping that when our scores come out we get the diploma.
In short, we’ve done TONS of work. TONS OF WORK. And we haven’t received the amount of support that some IB schools are able to give. And suddenly, one of the IB diploma candidates admits in the group chat, “yeah, chatgpt wrote all of my IB essays.” If you know stuff about IB, she explicitly admitted to cheating on her Extended Essay, TOK Essay, TOK exhibition, Chemistry HL IA, History HL IA, Literature HL Essay, and Art HL Comparative Study.
That’s hours and hours and hours and hours of work that the rest of the diplomats candidates did that she’s just flippantly admitting she let an AI do for her.
but…….it also wasn’t really any of my business. So I wasn’t sure whether I should tell or not—especially since I’m the known goody-two-shoes of the group and I didn’t want to be viewed as a tattletale.
I asked two of the diploma candidates I’m friends with what they thought. One of them said “don’t be a snitch,” and the other said she wasn’t sure and kinda felt like I should talk. So… split response.
I was leaning towards “don’t be a snitch,” but eventually I just felt really indignant that this girl and I might receive the same end result for doing wildly different amounts of work. And I had evidence that she cheated—she admitted it herself. So I went to the school’s IB coordinator and I talked. I showed the screenshot. I essentially betrayed one of the candidates in a very tight knit group of students who are all breaking our backs to get this diploma with little to no IB-specific support from our teachers (our classes are all co-seated with non-IB-test-takers, who take up most of the class, which is an entirely different issue), but now it turns out one of us wasn’t even doing the work the whole time…
So I did it and it went to the administration and they’re “deciding how to proceed.”
Reason I’m worried I’m TA: she trusted us with that information and I told on her
Reason I think I might not be TA: it feels unfair that we should have the same shot at getting the IB diploma when the nights I stayed up crafting the perfect extended essay were the same nights she asked chatgpt to write her an essay and then moved on with her life and somehow did it well enough to not get caught.
AITA?

“You’re staring,” Ominis murmured before letting out a quiet sigh. “Again.”
“She’s talking to Weasley,” Sebastian muttered back, his arms folded across his chest.
“Which one?” he asked, a wry smile slipping into his face. Ominis didn’t need to be able to see to know Sebastian was glaring at him.
“Garreth, you prat.” A brief silence fell over the pair as Sebastian continued to watch the interaction between Y/N and Garreth Weasley. Y/N threw her head back and laughed at something Garreth said, and Sebastian felt something in his chest tighten as the sun caught on the natural highlights hidden in her hair. “He can’t be that funny.” Garreth muttered something to Y/N and she turned in his direction to catch his eye. He felt every nerve in his body as she smiled sweetly at him and waved her fingers to say hello before looking back at the wizard in front of her. “He’s just using her.”
“How can you be so sure?” Ominis’ eyebrows shot up in surprise as he turned his head to look at Sebastian (he hoped he was, at least).
“Isn’t everyone?” Sebastian asked. Ominis had been there with him that fateful day in the bathrooms. They had both heard what had been said, had both heard the chorus of laughter and agreement that followed.
“Everyone but you, you mean.”
“Don’t be ridiculous, Ominis,” he looked away from Y/N to narrow his eyes at his friend beside him. “You’re not using her either.”
“Aren’t I?” Ominis asked. There was a beat of silence between them before he laughed loudly at the lack of response from the brunet, and he could almost picture the incredulous look being shot his way.
Sebastian would blame the sun, he decided, if anyone asked why he was frowning in your direction. It had come out today, and the trio had taken advantage of the warmth it provided to sit in the gardens by the north entrance for the castle. It seemed they hadn’t been the only ones to have the idea and it wasn’t long before Y/N had leapt from her position in the grass next to him to greet Natsai Onai and the red-clad gaggle that seemed to follow. Sebastian couldn’t help but begrudge Natty (who was a wonderful witch despite being in Gryffindor) from stealing you away from him. He had been content with your arm pressed against his, your legs touching as you stretched out beside him, head almost resting on his shoulder as you watched the clouds drift by.
Ominis twirled his wand idly in his hands, the sensor pulsing every-so-often to let him know Sebastian was still brooding beside him. Although he didn’t need it to, because if he listened carefully he could hear Sebastian mutter to himself occasionally as he more than likely watched Y/N from across the gardens. It wasn’t loud enough for Ominis to hear everything he was saying, but he did manage to catch phrases such as stupid Gryffindors and was just going to hold her hand. The latter made Ominis snort in amusement. Sebastian had been working up the courage to admit his feelings for the third member of their little group since the beginning of their sixth year, and now here they were nearing the end of their seventh and final year.
He had tried to tell Sebastian - time and time again - that there was nothing to fear and that he strongly suspected you returned his feelings, but he refused to listen. Ominis wouldn’t outright betray your trust and inform Sebastian of the late night conversations they shared where you voiced your concerns for the brunet, voice tinged with more than just friendly admiration. Instead, he subtly tried to push the pair together with flimsy excuses to explain his perpetual absence. Not that it did any good when either of you refused to acknowledge the Erumpent in the room.
It could be worse, he mused, I could actually have to witness the pining between them, instead of just hearing about it.
“Get up,” Sebastian nudged Ominis gently and stood up. “Come on.”
“Where are we going?”
“We’re going to save Y/N,” Sebastian replied as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
“Y/N doesn’t need saving,” Ominis rolled his eyes, but stood up nonetheless, brushing grass from his robes. “In fact, I need to remind you that she has saved us. Several times.”
“Well, call this us returning the favour,” he tugged Ominis in the right direction softly before letting go of his robes and stalking over to where Y/N and Garreth were sat talking, set a little apart from the rest of the Gryffindors. “Y/N…Weasley.” He nodded once at the wizard and came to a stop right next to Y/N. Ominis, wand held aloft, offered the ground an awkward smile. “I can’t believe you left us for a bunch of Gryffindors,” he looked down at her, forcing a chuckle so he didn’t start an inter-house fight. “Are we not enough for you?”
“Don’t start,” Y/N laughed and rolled her eyes at him. “Garreth was just telling me about his newest potion idea.”
“Planning on getting her into more trouble by making her sneak into Sharp’s office for supplies again?” The comment earned Sebastian a nudge in the ribs from Y/N, but Garreth chuckled and shook his head.
“Actually, I was hoping Y/N would accompany me to the Forbidden Forest soon to gather some ingredients.”
“Not man enough to go it alone?” Sebastian nodded thoughtfully. The tips of Garreth’s ears were tinged pink as he looked between the three of them, before an easygoing smile fell across his features.
“Is that why you keep asking her to join you on trips to spider caves?” Ominis let a laugh slip out at Garreth’s words, and Sebastian shot him a glare for it. Y/N shuffled nervously on her feet between them all, sensing some tension simmering under the surface. She wasn’t sure why they were both standing there, chests puffed out, and had a feeling she didn’t want to know. The only one who didn’t seem to be stancing was Ominis, who looked just as out of place as she felt.
“I don’t mind going into the forest,” Y/N supplied quietly. Two pairs of eyes shot her way, and Ominis looked a little to her left. “I mean, I need to go anyway. Ms Bugbrooke asked me to go and check in on a unicorn she named Hazel and find a way to keep her safe.”
“I thought we were going to go do that this weekend?” Sebastian asked.
“You could all go,” Ominis supplied. He could feel Y/N relax from beside him, her hand reaching between their robes to squeeze his arm in gratitude. “Saves for multiple trips to the forest.”
“I don’t think that’s wise,” Sebastian frowned, crossing his arms. Garreth gave them all a half-hearted smile and shrugged.
“You let me know, Y/N. I’ve got to get to Charms, I can’t be late again or Ronen will tell my aunt,” he shuddered at the thought and waved goodbye to the three of them before turning to walk away. Y/N offered Garreth a forced smile as he left and waited until he was well out of earshot before whirling around to face Sebastian and hit him with her glove.
“What was that?”
“What was what?”
“Don’t play dumb, Sebastian. It doesn’t become you.”
“Sweetheart, everything becomes me,” he sent her a cocky grin, his body language loosening now that Garreth was gone. “Do you want me to walk you - both of you - to class?” He bent down to pick up her discarded bag and slung it over his shoulder.
“Don’t change the subject,” she sighed in annoyance, her eyes narrowing. “You always seem to do this whenever I’m speaking to someone.”
“I don’t do it to Poppy, Natty, Imelda, or Ominis.”
“Please, leave me out of this,” Ominis muttered, looking away from them as they began to walk to the castle for class. Even though he knew he couldn’t see it, Sebastian still shot his friend a look as if to say way to back me up, help me out here and hoped he would get the message. The trio walked in silence until they passed the History of Magic classroom.
“Why don’t you let me talk to any of our classmates?”
“You’re talking to me, aren’t you? And you speak to Ominis all the time,” Sebastian gestured at his friend, who cringed internally at being brought back into this. He hoped if he kept silent that they would forget he was there, and perhaps he could sneak off and make it to class on his own. Not that it would do much good - he shared his next class with Y/N, and Sebastian was sure to follow. They had overheard a conversation between her, Imelda, Poppy and Natty about the chivalrous actions some of the wizards at the school took to get the attention of the witches and which ones in particular seemed to charm the girls the most. Ever since then Sebastian had held her school bag and walked her to every class.
“Stop trying to be charming, Sebastian. I’m annoyed at you.”
“You think I’m charming?” Sebastian grinned down at her, earning a quiet whack as she hit him with her glove again. “Why are you so violent today?”
“Why are you so bothersome today?” she shot back. Ominis smiled to himself and walked a little faster. As much as he enjoyed hearing Y/N rip into Sebastian, he did not want to get caught in the middle.
Y/N wrapped her arms around herself, trying to fight the chill that lingered in the stone walls after the warmth they had felt outside. Sebastian had been acting differently lately. Some days he was attentive, almost sweet; others like today, he was a nuisance, plain and simple. She never knew who she was going to get - the man who greeted her with coffee and a smile in the mornings, his hand lingering on hers after he handed her the mug, or the sulking mass walking by her. Her eyes fell on his back, watching as his muscles rippled through the white shirt, at her bag hanging on his shoulder.
He never aimed that gruffness in her direction, she realised. Even now, he was holding her bag for her and looked over his shoulder to see if she was still with them, a breathtaking smile falling on his face when he caught her eye. It was only ever when one of their male classmates spoke to her, standing a little too close that he began to act out, and despite his protests that she spoke to Ominis, she had seen him do it with him too. It was to a lesser scale, but even this morning he had placed himself between the pair as they all sat in the sun, his shoulder pressed against hers.
“Why won’t you let me speak to any men?” the words slipped out of her mouth before she could process them. Sebastian came to a stop and looked at her in confusion. She was vaguely aware of Ominis slowing as well from in front of them, a low groan escaping from him.
“What?”
“That conversation you were having with Garreth wasn’t exactly pleasant, and it’s not the first time this has happened.” Sebastian watched as she twisted her fingers together nervously and longed to take her hand in his. “Don’t you want me to be happy?”
“You think Weasley is going to make you happy?” Sebastian raised an eyebrow.
“I-I don’t know! But how am I meant to find out when you keep…”
“When I keep…?” His casual tone infuriated Y/N, and judging by the amusement in his eye and the twitch in the corner of his mouth, he knew it.
“When you keep acting so possessive!”
“Maybe I’m just a good judge of character and know none of those simpering idiots who keep coming over are enough for you.”
Enough for me - ” Ire flared at his words and she gave him a withering look. “You have some nerve, Sebastian Sallow. And you,” she glared at Ominis, who had the decency to look a little frazzled at her anger. “I expected better from you, you’re always by his side whenever this happens. Care to explain yourself?” Ominis shook his head slowly and backed away a few steps as Sebatian came forward.
“Don’t take it out on him, he had no part in this.”
“Good to know the stupidity started and ended with you, then,” Y/N snapped. She turned her back on him and walked a few steps away to calm down. “Why do you always do this to me, Sebastian? Give me one good reason why you keep acting out like this.”
“I’m only looking out for your best interests. You need someone who will challenge you,” Sebastian stood taller, annoyance flashing in his eyes. “Not a lapdog who will roll over every time you call their name. You need an equal.” Ominis grimaced at his best friend's words and slowly began to back away. He didn’t make it too far before someone bumped into him, pausing to listen to the argument occurring in the hallway.
“Who are you to presume anything about my happiness?” Y/N stalked forward to poke Sebastian in the chest roughly. “Who would even fit within your insane standards for me? Who would challenge me, make me happy, treat me as their equal?” she asked, all but spitting the words at him. “You?”
“Maybe.” Sebastian shrugged, not quite meeting her eye as he shuffled between his feet nervously.
“You…” Y/N let out an incredulous laugh. “You’re something else, Sallow.” In all the times Y/N had imagined Sebastian admitting he may return his feelings for her it never went like this, in a corridor attracting the attention of their classmates with their fight. “I have done nothing but wait for you to notice me for two years, Sebastian. And when I finally realise you’ll never see me the way I want and decide to move on, that’s when you’re determined to want me?”
“I don’t just want you,” his voice was hoarse with her declaration. Two years? How could she not see that I’ve noticed her, that I've only ever noticed her? How could this have gone wrong so fast.
“You’re nothing but a jealous coward.” With one final poke to the chest, Y/N took her bag and started to walk away from him and the little crowd that had gathered.
“You think I don’t know how selfish I’m being?” Sebastian called out, suddenly finding his voice. He followed her path, near enough pushing anyone aside who stood in his way. “I would give anything - anything - to go back to that day we first met. Back when all you were was Atë personified, before I realised how absolutely breathtaking every inch of your soul is. You’ve ruined me, Y/N!”
“And that’s my fault?”
“I’m not saying that!” Sebastian groaned and reached for the sleeve of her robe to pull her to a stop. He quickly rescinded his hand when she shot him a menacing glare as if to say I dare you.
“Then what are you saying?” she asked. Doubt clutched him, stopping the words from leaving his mouth. He must have waited a beat too long to respond because Y/N sighed, and the disappointment on her face was enough to bring him to his knees as she continued to walk away from him, the students they had attracted parting to let her through. She had made it halfway down the corridor when sharp panic squeezed his chest tightly.
“I’m in love with you!” he shouted after her. His face flamed at the confession, at the sudden whispers of those around him as his words echoed down the stone corridor. Y/N stopped, and for a second Sebastian felt hope that she would turn around and say she loved him too. That it was him she wanted, who she always wanted.
“Well, you have a funny way of showing it.” He watched in despair as she walked away from him, slipping through the doors that would take her into another hall. There was a dull roaring in his ears, drowning out the sudden whispers that had started around him. A gentle hand landed on his shoulder and he looked over slowly to see Ominis, a grim look on his face. Sebastian couldn’t bear to see the sympathy in his gaze, to hear the voices around him talking about his rejected confession.
“All right, show’s over!” he growled, shaking Ominis’ hand from his shoulder. “Everyone clear off.” He rolled his shoulders and stood a little straighter before stalking down the corridor. The younger students jumped out of his way, and he caught the looks of pity from those in his year. Poppy tried to step forward and speak to him, but he just shook his head at her and walked out of the hall and made his way to the Undercroft.
*~*~*~*~*
It had been nearly a week since Y/N and Sebastian’s argument in the middle of the hallway and she could still hear people whisper about it as she walked by, as if she couldn’t hear a word they were saying. A group of Ravenclaws were sitting at a table in the library near Y/N, Poppy and Imelda, and every-so-often they looked over and started to giggle.
“Just ignore them,” Poppy murmured to her.
“No,” Imelda glared at the group, who immediately quieted down and looked away. “They need to learn to keep their mouths shut, or I’ll do it for them.” She raised her voice just enough for them to hear her threat and they quickly packed their things and left in a flurry of navy robes.
“You can’t threaten everyone in the school, Imelda,” Y/N said with a sigh, not looking up from her Charms textbook. Another group would soon come and replace that one, and the cycle would just repeat itself.
“Watch me.” Her grin was unnerving to say the least. “What’s he doing in here?” Y/N looked up to see Sebastian walking up the stairs into the upper part of the library where they were currently sitting. He looked around, a little unsure of himself and Y/N’s heart clenched in her chest at the sight. He always looked so confident, even when he was utterly terrified, but now he just looked lost. “He better not come over here.”
“Imelda,” Poppy sighed and shook her head. “We don’t even know if he’s here for Y/N, he could be here to study.” Even though Poppy was right, Y/N couldn’t help but wish that he was here for her, that he wanted to speak to her.
“No you don’t, wipe that look off your face,” Imelda pointed her quill at Y/N. “Don’t go mooning over him after what he’s put you through. You don’t need someone who’s going to treat you that poorly.”
“He doesn’t exactly look great himself.”
“Who’s side are you on, Sweeting?”
“I didn’t realise there were any.” Y/N rolled her eyes as the pair continued to bicker, her gaze turning back to Sebastian, who had turned in their direction as he heard Poppy and Imelda arguing. He caught her eye and began to slowly make his way to their table, casting a weary glance at Imelda as he neared.
“What do you want, Sallow?” Imelda snapped at him, turning on him as he got closer.
“Hello, Sebastian, are you alright?” Poppy nudged her in reprimand and offered him an awkward smile.
“I-I’d like to speak to Y/N, if that’s okay,” he asked, not quite looking at any of them.
“Come to shout more declarations of love in my face?” It was a low blow, and Y/N knew it. She watched as he flinched slightly and looked away from her, his shoulders slumped in defeat. She was vaguely aware of Poppy grabbing onto Imelda’s robes to pull her away while the latter protested as she stared at him. There were dark circles under his eyes as if he hadn’t slept in days, and his shirt and robes were rumpled. “Sit down,” she muttered, closing her book. “You look like you’re about to pass out from exhaustion.”
Sebastian listened, his hands running through his hair as he slumped down into a seat. He looked awful, Y/N noted, eyes wandering over his frame. It went beyond the creased clothes and the lack of sleep. He looked paler, and Y/N watched as he sighed heavily and rubbed a hand down his face.
“I’m sorry, Y/N. I went too far.” There was a different level of weariness in his voice, it went down to his bones, his very soul. The man in front of her was not the one she had fallen for. Her heart ached as he looked up at her slowly with dull eyes. “I always go too far.”
“You do,” she murmured. His eyes slid shut at her words and he braced himself for a blow that wasn’t coming. “And yet, somehow, I always forgive you for it.” She hated admitting it out loud, but once her rage had simmered and the adrenaline had left her a few hours after their fight, she had forgiven him. She could never stay mad at him for long. Even after their only other argument that had happened in the Undercroft years ago when he had called her ignorant for trusting a goblin and stormed out she hadn’t been hurt or angry, just concerned for him.
“I don’t deserve you.”
“No, you don’t.” She waited until he looked at her before giving him a small, teasing smile. They stared at each other for a few seconds in silence, each drinking in the different ways the other had changed in the past few days until Y/N sighed and looked away again. “I’m not an object to be possessed, Sebastian. You can’t just stake your claim on me.”
“I never…I’m sorry. I don’t mean to be like this. I just…” he sighed and tried to sit a little straighter in his seat. Y/N waited patiently for him to finish his sentence, waited as the wheels turned in his head and he tried to figure out what he wanted to say. He looked at her from the corner of his eye, his heart constricting in his chest and he saw the matching dark rings under her eyes.
“I’m not going to fight you, Sebastian,” Y/N said gently, reaching his hand. She stopped before she could touch it and instead started to fiddle with the quill Poppy had left behind. “You can say what you need to.”
“It’s not pleasant.”
“None of this has been.”
“No, it hasn’t,” he smiled without humour and finally looked her in the eye. “Ominis and I once heard a conversation in the bathroom. I don’t think they realised we were in there, and they were gone before we could confront them. They were talking about you. About how they wanted to spend time with you and ask you to accompany them - alone, might I add - to the Three Broomsticks so that they could be seen with the Hero of Hogwarts.” Sebastian all but spat the nickname out, hating it in that moment. “They all left before I could see who they were. Ever since then I’ve stood between you and anyone who looked like they were trying to express interest because I didn’t know who was genuine and who was just using you.”
“Garreth…” Sebastian hated himself for being the one to break the news, for putting that heartbroken expression on her face. Y/N felt her stomach churn in revulsion and grief. She wasn’t stupid, she knew there were people in the school who only wanted to be seen with her because of what she was as opposed to who she was. She knew some of the requests she politely turned down for company and a drink in Hogsmeade weren’t out of attraction, but rather a ploy to get into her graces. She never suspected Garreth would be one of them. She was hurt - not because she had feelings for him, but because she had thought they were friends.
“No, I made a mistake with him.” He pulled a face as he admitted he was wrong. “It turns out he actually wants to get to know you - the real you.” Oh. Oh. Y/N felt her face flush and Sebastian looked away. He couldn’t bear to watch her blush over Garreth Weasley, or anyone, for that matter.
“What about you?”
“What about me?”
“Your delivery was less than ideal but…did you mean it? Do you mean it?” she asked nervously, her voice no more than a whisper. Sebastian hated the look on her face, hated seeing her so unsure of herself.
“Y/N, I’ve been in love with you since our fifth year.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means,” he held a hand out for hers, letting her make the decision if she wanted to take it or not. A few seconds passed, and he was just about to rescind the offer, when she shyly placed her hand in his. He squeezed her hand gently, his thumb brushing her knuckles as he tried not to think about how perfectly her hand fit in his. “It means that I want you to be happy,” he murmured, “and if Weasley makes you happy - or anyone else who wishes to genuinely court you - I’ll take a step back.”
It hurt him to say the words out loud, to voice the possibility that after all this she wouldn’t want him anymore. Not the way she had once, the way he currently still wanted her. He let her collect her thoughts, watched as she chewed on her lower lip.
“What if…what if I don’t want you to?” Y/N asked, voice so quiet he almost missed it.
Sebastian’s heart stuttered at the blush that rose to her cheeks, and he wanted nothing more than to pull her into his arms, to be the only one that made her blush like that ever again. For the rest of their lives. The thought startled him slightly, but he realised it was true. He wasn’t saying he wanted to marry her (although, a rather enticing image of Y/N floating down the aisle to him in a white dress did flash to mind), but he wanted to stay by her side. Whether that was in a friendly capacity or more. Merlin, did he hope it was more.
“I meant what I said too, about waiting for you to notice me,” she continued.
“Darling, I’ve not noticed anyone else since the day I met you.” He brushed his thumb across the back of her hand again and squeezed it gently before pressing a kiss to her knuckles. He watched in satisfaction as her blush deepened, and tried to read the flicker of emotions that passed across her face. “I’m more than aware my confession was…something, to say the least (Y/N rolled her eyes at this) but I meant what I said. I’m in love with you, Y/N Y/L/N. I have been for a while now.” She looked away, unable to handle the deep emotions swirling in his eyes, that are written clearly on his face for anyone to see. She didn’t doubt for a second that he was telling the truth. “I don’t expect you to say it back.”
“I…I’m not good with all of this. I can’t quite say if it’s love but…” Her face burns, and she feels as if it will be a permanent shade of red after this conversation. “I am entranced by you, Sebastian Sallow. I’ve never been in love before, never felt it in anything more than a friendly capacity, but with you…it’s different. It runs far deeper than I can explain.” She presses a hand to her chest, right above her heart that is beating so hard it’s a wonder he can’t hear it. “I can’t picture my life without you in it, whether that is as a friend or more.”
Y/N doesn’t know how else to put it into words. She can’t seem to say that it’s been him from the very beginning. From the moment she beat him in their first duel and he was thrilled instead of being put out she knew she was in trouble. She’d only fallen faster and harder since then, from their first trip to Hogsmeade where he flirted with her the whole way, until the day his uncle had died and she had talked Ominis out of sending him to Azkaban.
“You don’t need to say it back,” Sebastian repeated, his grip on her hand tightening as he took note of the adoration in her eyes. “I mean, how could you not be in love with me?” Y/N laughed loudly before clapping her hand over her mouth suddenly. They waited with baited breath for Scribner to come and reprimand them, only relaxing when they couldn’t hear her making her way up the stairs.
“You have to apologise to Garreth.” Sebastian groaned at her words, but there was a smile on his face that he couldn’t quite hide from her. Already he looked better. He still needed a good night’s sleep, in Y/N’s opinion, but life was returning to his eyes and he sat a little straighter, a little taller.
“Where does this leave us?” he asked, shuffling his chair closer to hers so their knees could press together under the table. He hooked one foot under her ankle and tangled their legs together, enjoying the look on her face as he did so.
“I’m still mad at you. But knowing you did this to be noble…to protect me. That lessens the blow.” She gently squeezed his leg between hers, grinning to herself as she watched him take his turn to blush. “I do hope you know I don’t need protection though.”
“My still-healing ego from our first Defence Against the Dark Arts class together remembers.”
He’s rewarded with her laugh again, her real one, and he makes a silent promise to make her laugh the same way every day for the rest of their lives. Every muscle in his body loosens at the sound, and he feels like he can finally breathe again when she grins at him and tugs him a little closer by his tie.
“If you ever pull a stunt like this again…” Although there was still a smile on her face, the threat was evident in her eyes. He nodded quickly, throat bobbing as she twirled his tie between her fingers and let go. She watches as he looks down at her lips nervously and gratification shot her through as his face slowly flushed. A smirk falls on her face at this, and she raises an eyebrow at him when he finally looks up to meet her gaze. “Feeling a little warm?”
“What, no.” He leans back and rubs the back of his neck, his blush deepening.
“Ah, so you’re just blushing like a third year at the thought of kissing me.”
“I’m not blushing.”
“So you want to kiss me?”
“Darling, I always want to kiss you.” The look he gives her makes her stomach flip.  “Can I…”
“Not until you ask me properly.”
“To kiss you?”
“Sebastian.”
“Alright, alright, fine,” he grins, loving the way she rolls her eyes at him. “Will you do me the honour of joining me on a trip to Hogsmeade?”
“Right now?”
“Right now.”
“Sebastian, it’s nearly curfew.”
“And when has that stopped you before?” he laughs and begins to gather her things into her bag before slinging it over his shoulder. He holds a hand out to her expectantly and waits until she grabs a hold of it before they leave the library, waving goodbye at Imelda and Poppy (who are doing their very best - and failing - to eavesdrop). They make it as far as the doors that lead to the greenhouses when Sebastian pulls her under the stairs, ensuring no one can see them as they dip into one of the shadows. She meets him halfway, pressing their lips together in a long overdue kiss.
“Do you have any final demands for this? For us?” he murmurs against her lips.
“Only one.” Her fingers run through his hair and his heart stutters in his chest. “I’m never going to make this easy for you. I'm going to challenge you every day for the rest of our lives.”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

HL Boys reactions to a heartbroken F!MC
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Listen I ain't gonna lie I broke up with my boyfriend weekend before Valentines day and I just wanted to indulge in some fantasy comfort from my current obsession
I've never dabbled in this kind of writing so I'm sorry for any issues in the writing, please feel free to leave a constructive comment if you have one.
✨if there's enough wish for it I'll do a girls version ✨
pairings: Sebastian x F!MC, Ominis x F!MC, Garreth x F!MC
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sebastian Sallow
Tumblr media
You were hiding the restricted section of the library; it was the only safe place away from the constant reminder that love was nowhere in your grasp. You wiped your eyes in the cuff of your robe as you sat curled up in the corner, it was Valentines day but last night your partner, well Ex now, broke things off with you.
You couldn't exactly say you were surprised, you two had grown distant over the last few months, first they stopped showing up to your study dates claiming they was too tired from school and quidditch practice, then they stopped finding you at lunch in the Dark Arts Towers courtyard.
Luckily you had your friends you could eat with like Poppy and Natty, when they were busy you tended to join Ominis and Sebastian in the Undercroft as Sebastian would complain about your ex skipping out on you and Ominis would agree that it was no way to treat a lady.
When you had finally cornered your Ex asking them if they would like to go Hogsmeade for Valentines Day they just looked uncomfortable before taking you to bridge leading to lower Hogsmeade and began to break up with you.
“We just don’t have anything in common MC” they began “you're always running off on errands with either Poppy or Garreth and quite frankly I think you’re little too close to that Sallow friend of yours” they rested a hand on your arm as your eyes widened at what they were saying.
“Honestly MC…...I think its just better if we break up” and that was it, your world shattered underneath you and you went straight to the room of requirements so no one could see you fall apart.
And now you were here, sniffling in the restricted section feeling worthless when you heard the sound of the gate squeaking open, you held your breath frozen in shock horror at the thought of being caught like this.
“MC?” You recognized that voice, suddenly Sebastian undid his invisibility charm and crouched near you, he looked so worried.
“MC? Hey MC, what’s wrong? Did someone hurt you?” He placed a hand on your shoulder as he tried to look for any signs you were hurt.
You explain to him what happened, and his jaw tightened as he listens.
“That bastard” He growled under his breath.
He was mentally planning all the different ways he would make them eat their words for hurting you, on Valentines Day of all days! He moved in closer and held you as you sobbed a little
“They never deserved you MC” he said as you calmed down.
“Anyone would be lucky to have you as their girlfriend! You’re so loyal and kind to you’re friends, Hells! You go out of your way for people you don’t even know!” he pulled you back so he could look into your eyes.
“If they can’t see that then honestly MC, you’re the lucky one! Merlin’s beard if you were my girlfriend, I’d never disappoint you like they did!” his eyes held an intensity at his confession leaving you speechless and eyes wide.
“S-Sebastian…thank you” you mumbled as your cheeks turned hot.
He nodded as he started to think “MC will you be my Valentines? Platonically! if it’s too soon I just…. I can’t bear the thought of you alone and sad on a day like this.”
You looked into his deep brown eyes, your heart fluttering. You smile as you pull him closer.
“I’d be honoured Sebastian” and with that you close the gap between you two in passionate yet sweet kiss, after you pulled away Sebastian gave you the biggest toothiest grin and hugs you tight as you enjoy each other’s embrace.
The next day you couldn't help but notice that your Ex had mysteriously developed a significant limp, you turn to Sebastian with a questioning look, he simply winked and gave a mischievous smile as he wrapped an arm around you as he led you to class.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ominis Gaunt
Tumblr media
The Undercroft was cold and silent, the perfect escape from the day that you honestly wish would end and never come again, it was Valentines Day, and all the other students were getting ready to go on dates, confess feelings and overall be happy and rub your misery in your face.
Ok that wasn’t fair it wasn’t the student’s fault that you got dumped on the romantic holiday, it was your now Ex’s fault. You were coming back from summoners court after a victory and was feeling pretty good about yourself.
Your ex was waiting by the main door for you, you went to hug them in greeting, but they just moved out of your grasp looking pained and asked if you could go somewhere private to talk, looking back you shouldn’t have been surprised, they had been avoiding you for months spending more time with their friends or just not inviting you out anymore.
Your friends had been trying to convince you that it might just be exam stress and to try not to worry, Imelda even offered to get your mind off things by giving you flying lessons. Sebastian and Ominis took to hanging out with you on your own errands, so you didn’t feel alone, it had actually been Ominis’ suggestion.
Your Ex took you to the greenhouse where they begin their little speech,
“Look MC we just aren’t compatible, we can never agree on what to do or even what we talk about.” They ran a hand through their hair in frustration.
“All you do is talk about your friends and when I try to speak you look completely uninterested and like you’d rather talk about Ominis like he’s god’s gift, so I’m done, its over” they didn’t even stay long enough for you to respond.
You acted on instinct after that, you just started walking and didn’t stop until you found yourself in the Undercroft and fell to your knees before the tears began and that’s where you remained until now. Your eyes red and puffy, your mouth dehydrated and your head pounding as you absent mindedly fiddled with a nearby pebble.
You almost didn’t notice the sound of someone entering, you looked up in time to see it was Ominis, you felt a little relief he couldn’t see your dishevelled state. You remained silent as he entered, wand guiding him.
“Hello? Sebastian? MC? I can hear whichever one of you breathing.” He stated turning, his wand scanning for her presence.
You bit your lip as you debated if you trusted your voice enough to call out for him as he made his way to your general position.
“Sebastian, I swear to Circe if you plan on jumping out at me I wi- “
"Its me Ominis!” you cringed at the sound of your croaky voice.
His face instantly melted into one of worry as he followed the direction of your voice sitting not too far from where you were, he looked a little panicked as he spoke.
“MC? What happened? Why are you hiding down here?” he reached out for you concerned.
You guided him to where you were sat as you explained what happened, his face unreadable as you went on before finally stopping you.
“They’re the biggest prat for breaking your heart” he spoke dangerously calm, his blank stare darkening.
“I can talk to Professor Black and have him give them a lifetimes worth of detention if you’d like?” he offered, a hint of a dark chuckled played on his lips.
You shook your head as the ghost of a giggle left your lips “its fine Ominis, truly they’re not worth it.”
“But you are MC, you’re worth so much” he interrupted earnestly.
“They’re blinder than I am if they can’t see they just lost the most valuable person in this school.” He felt for your hand before grasping it firmly “if I held your heart, I would cherish it as if it was the rarest gem in the world.”
You felt your breath catch in your throat and before you could stop yourself you engulfed the blind boy in a hug, he snaked his arms around your waist whispering softly into your ear.
“Even if its platonically I would cherish being your Valentines if you’d have me.”
You angled his face to meet yours in a tender soft kiss as a tear rolled down your cheek.
“I couldn’t think of anyone better to give my fragile heart to Ominis.”
You heard a rumour the next morning that snakes had inexplicably found themselves in your Exes pillows last night and gave them such a freight they refuse to enter the bedrooms, you went to ask Ominis about such a strange event and he just gave you a soft knowing smile as he acted shocked at the news before kissing your hand as you lead him to breakfast.

Garreth Weasley
Tumblr media
Is this really what you were reduced to? Hiding in a supply cupboard because the sound of others’ giddiness was starting to grate your nerves, it wasn’t the girl’s fault for your mood, but they weren’t helping either, you sighed leaning against the cauldrons.
You were going to meet your partner, well Ex now you supposed in the Great Hall for lunch but was surprised to find them waiting outside of potion class for you, they shuffled you into this cupboard asking to talk, instead of having compliments and kisses showered over you like you had hoped they instead five simple words.
“I want to break up.”
You nearly popped your eyes out of your skull with how wide your eyes went, you nearly thought, hoped even it was some cruel Valentines prank but no they were serious.
“Look this isn’t easy but I just don’t want this…I don't want a future with you, I’m sorry”.
They gave you an awkward pat on the arm before leaving you there dumbfounded, at first you giggled, then laughed, then the tears started falling as you laughed and sobbed like a women gone mad.
You eventually calmed down as you sat there, you felt like there was no point in leaving, you were a state and didn’t feel like being reminded of the pain in your chest, as you wallowed in the dark cupboard the door suddenly flew open, and you looked like a deer in headlights as Garreth stared down at you confused.
“MC? Why are you in the storage cupboard?”
You couldn’t help it, you let out a whimper as the tears started falling again.
“Oh shit! I’m sorry MC! For whatever I did I’m sorry please don’t cry!”
He panicked as he held you rubbing your back, you could hear the panic beat of his heart as he scrambled to fit inside the cupboard and close the door, it was a tight squeeze and you had ended up in his lap in the chaos, you couldn’t help but laugh as Garreth went red.
“It’s not you Garreth” you sniffed as you shifted so you were facing him.
You explained to him everything and why you were still in here crying, Garreth’s reactions went from concern, shock, disgust and finally a smile as he grinned down at you, an idea popping into his mind.
“Don’t worry about losers like them MC, they clearly can’t handle someone as great as you! And I know exactly what they need” he winked as you blushed at the enthusiasm.
“Well, I don’t have a Valentines either and I’d love to take you Hogsmeade for a butterbeer, we can go as friends if a date is too much” he looked down at you in his arms hopeful.
You couldn’t stop yourself and started laughing again and snuggled into his chest.
“I’d love to go as a date Garreth.”
His grinned somehow widened as he scooped you into a kiss, it was enthusiastic with a hint desperate relief before he pulled away and kissed away the few stray tears that fell from your eyes before carrying you out the cupboard, you squealed as he carried you to the corridor before letting you down and grabbing your hand “let’s get going MC!”
You didn’t see your Ex until dinner time the next evening, they were completely bald! You gawped as you turned to Garreth who simply laughed.
“Looks like someone slipped a hair loss potion in their shampoo, what a shame ey MC” he nudged you as the two of you chuckled amongst yourselves.

Sour Times
{Bully!Sebastian Sallow x Bullied!GN!Hufflepuff!}
Tumblr media
Introduction: Slight deviation from the official HL story. Rather than everyone being intrigued at your unique arrival to Hogwarts, it’s a badge of dishonor to develop your magic so late. Hufflepuffs have a pathetic reputation, and you’ve been sorted into their house. The only reason Sebastian puts up with you is because he needs your ancient magic... and because he wants you all to himself. But he’d never tell, not when the whole school would start picking on and laughing at him like they did you. Yet, when he sees the way you look at Garreth Weasley, he wonders if everyone else’s approval means anything at all.
Word Count: ~ 6,350
Warnings: Kissing, Angst, Bullying
Author’s Note: I finally finished! 🥳 Us Hufflepuffs always get dunked on and I wanted to play around with that. I watched A Silent Voice and Normal People and couldn’t stop thinking about bully-to-lover scenarios. I’ve proofread so many times but I know I’m missing something, gonna do that thing where I get sneaky and edit here and there. Long one today so kick back, grab a snack, do hot people shit, enjoy 😘

As you meandered down the halls to your next class, holding your books with one hand and the other resting in your pocket, someone had grabbed your arm, tugging you behind a corner, causing you to drop your belongings. Whoever it was slammed your back into the wall, then propped up a hand next to your head to trap you in place.
You looked up and met the eyes of your abductor. This position wasn’t anything new to you, though it was new to be here with Sebastian Sallow.
Someone was always trying to mess with you or ruin your day. Being a late bloomer with magic and getting sorted into Hufflepuff hadn’t done you any favors. Other than that, there wasn’t anything wrong with you per se, it was just your social standing at Hogwarts. Even some Hufflepuffs wanted nothing to do with you, believing you made their house even more embarrassing to be in. Yet, that didn’t stop any of the student body from threatening you to do favors for them.
“Heard that you can wield ancient magic. Is it true?”
Your furrowed your brows, wondering how word could spread that quickly. But you suppose the magic you used on the troll in Hogsmeade hadn’t been very discreet. Too bad they gave all the credit to Natsai Onai, you might have made some friends with your troll takedown story.
Shifting your gaze down, you nodded your head.
“Prove it.” He held out a folded piece of parchment, the all too familiar blue glow emanating from it.
You took it from his hands and unfolded it to see rune symbols you’d encountered countless times. “Where did you get this?”
“Doesn’t matter, do you recognize those rune symbols?”
You nodded your head looking over the pages. “I see these whenever I need to unlock a door with ancient magic.”
Sebastian’s breath hitched and you finally met his heavy stare. He cleared his throat and regained his composure. “Exactly. And you’re going to come with me to open one I found.”
You folded the parchment back up and held it out to him. “Okay.”
He snatched it from your hands. “Don’t toy with me. If you don’t help me with this, I can make your life truly miserable here. I’m good friends with Ominis Gaunt, and he’s not afraid to use his family connections to -”
“I said okay.”
Sebastian narrowed his eyes at you, not knowing what you were playing at.
“Write me when you have a time and place.” You told him, exhausted.
He eyed you a moment longer, then stepped aside for you to leave. You picked up your books from the ground and kicked the dirt at your feet as you left, taking your time getting to your next class.
“So you’re going to help me? Just like that?” He called after you when he saw it was still just the two of you in the hall.
“Got nothing better to do.” You replied as you kept on your way.
-
Sebastian was the first person to ask for something and come along with you to get it done. Most people would just send you off, but there he was, exploring the cave and fighting giant spiders by your side.
That little outing turned out to be the first of many. Over time, Sebastian explained his sister’s curse and everything he had done to try to find a cure. He kept it to himself, but he was happy to find someone he could go through this journey with, someone who wasn’t trying to make him abandon hope, even if it was the Hogwarts outcast.
You made the mistake of assuming this meant you were friends in public. When you tried to approach him at Hogwarts, he looked at you as if you had grown horns. He caught sight of a few students whispering to each other and glancing your way. In a panic, he knocked the books from your hands, scattering them to the floor.
“Looks like the Hufflepuff had a little accident.” He jested loud enough for everyone around to hear. He walked away to meet up with some other Slytherin students who were in hysterics at what he had just done. He glanced back your way and it took everything in him to keep the amused look on his face. You were picking your books up off the floor and Garreth Weasley had come to help you. Sebastian noticed he had said something to cheer you up and it brought a smile to your face.
And then a thought surfaced in his head. I think I'd rather be the one who made you smile.
-
Sebastian’s public displays of discourtesy hadn’t let up. He felt awful, but he couldn’t stand the scrutiny he would get if he was seen with you. Just because he could see all these wonderful qualities in you, didn’t mean everyone else could. The Slytherins especially would give him a tough time. He would get defensive, spewing every excuse he could think of. “Don’t be daft. I only needed to see the Hufflepuff about charms class, nothing more.”
The guilt ate away at him. So when the two of you came across the scriptorium door that could only be opened by casting the cruciatus curse, he felt this could be his penance. But you refused to cast it on him.
He fisted the fabric of your shirt, jerking you towards him. “Dammit, why not?!” He demanded, incredulous. Dread arose in him, because he knew if he casted it on you he would be causing true agony. Everything he had done to you at Hogwarts was an act of rudeness, he never wanted to do anything that caused you pain in this way.
“Because I wouldn’t mean it.”
His face recoiled as if you had slapped him. He was unable to believe it. After all you’ve put up with, how could you not mean to harm him, how could you not want to? “I have been nothing but cruel to you, this is your chance to be cruel back! I know you hate me! I know you hate everyone!”
“I don’t hate you.” You placed your hands atop his that were gripping your shirt, in hopes it would calm him down. “Cast it on me, Sebastian. Get us out of here.”
Sebastian released your shirt, shoving you back. He turned away from you and rubbed a steadying hand down his face. Using the frustration he felt with you then, he spun to face you and recited, “Crucio!”
You fell to the floor, your screams of suffering echoed through his head.
Sebastian shot up in bed in a cold sweat, breathing coming out uneven. He rubbed his face in his hands and let out a shaky sigh. Ever since the scriptorium, he hadn’t gotten a good night’s sleep, the nightmare had kept replaying in his head.
-
You arrived back at the entrance of the Hufflepuff common room rather late in the night. It was passed curfew but you wanted to get all of Sirona’s lost letters back to her. Seeing the look on her face had made missing out on a few hours of sleep all worth it.
You startled when you saw a figure move out from the darkness. It was Sebastian, his eyes were red and puffy, dark circles had formed under them.
“Sebast -”
“Why’d you have me do it?” He demanded, his voice cracking. “Why couldn’t you -” He couldn’t stop the tears that fell. His shoulders began to shake as breathy sobs escaped him.
You ran up and pulled him into your arms, gently guiding his head down to your shoulder, and he let himself cry. “I’m okay. Everything’s okay.” You soothed.
He was the one who casted crucio on you, yet here you were comforting him. He felt worthless. You weren’t like anyone he had ever met. You never wanted anything in return, doing things purely out of the kindness of your heart even if it nearly killed you. He couldn’t grasp such a concept, and it overwhelmed him.
He went on his knees before you and took your hand into both of his. “Cast it on me. Please, it’s the only way I can make it all right. I did the wrong thing and I need to make it all right.” He pleaded.
You knelt on the ground with him, meeting his level. You pulled your hand from his and placed it on his cheek. You tried to meet his eyes. “Look at me. I will never do that to you.”
Though you meant for the words to comfort him, they felt like a knife to his chest. He smacked your hand away and scrambled to his feet, running out of sight.
He knew it then as he arrived back at his dorm room, and he let himself feel it entirely, as if he were punishing himself. He was in love with you, and he could never have you, not after everything he had done.
-
In the time that followed, Sebastian had wanted to act as if the scriptorium and his confrontation with you never happened. You kept an eye on him but went along with it. Your discreet meetings and his insults towards you resumed.
When Sebastian asked to meet briefly about information on a relic he had found in Salazar Slytherin’s spellbook, it was a good day for the both of you.
Your face was bright and ecstatic as you looked down at the thunderbrew potion in your hands. “It took me forever to get the ingredients, but I think I got a knack for brewing.” You couldn’t help but gush to Sebastian, trying to stifle your giggles and keep your voice low so no one around the two of you could hear.
Sebastian didn’t dare let it grow, but a charmed smile tugged at the corner of his lips. If he was going to react to you, he'd try to make it look like you were a nuisance to be around.
“Do you think if - well, I mean - what would you think if -” You began timidly, biting at your lip. Sebastian didn’t look at you, but he listened close, clinging to each word you left him on. “Do you think Garreth would be impressed if I showed him?”
And away went any temptation to smile, he opened the book in his hand to act like he was reading. He discovered that to be the consequence whenever he found himself being pulled towards you, he’d always get slapped with the reality that you were pulled towards Garreth. The other day, when everyone was standing around waiting for Defense Against the Dark Arts class to start, he caught sight of you looking out the window, the sunlight painted your features bewitchingly. He made his way over and saw you were watching Garreth playing Summoner’s Court. “Day dreaming you were actually useful in this class, Hufflepuff?” He had taunted. He’d claim it was to keep up the act but it was really in response to the hurt he felt. The pain only worsened when you glanced his way fleetingly and went right back to watching Garreth with undivided attention.
You noted his silence and felt stupid for even bringing it up to him. “Sorry, I got carried away. I know you don’t care.”
“I think Weasley will soil his breeches no matter what potion you show him.” He said bitterly. “Why do you think he’s so great anyway?”
You didn’t answer and Sebastian looked up to see your gaze following the red headed boy as he walked by, laughing along with a few other students. His stomach twisted uncomfortably and he looked back down to his book, eyes scanning the words but not taking them in.
“He’s the only person who’s been nice to me since day one. But I think that’s just who he is, looks like he’s nice to everyone.” You said the last part more to yourself. A chill went through the air and you began to shiver, seemingly too distracted to care due to where your attention laid.
“Where are your robes?” Sebastian tried to keep his voice monotone.
“Just forgot them is all.” Your eyes followed Garreth until he stopped walking to speak with some of his friends.
“Here. Take mine.” Sebastian exhaled as if he were annoyed, but he wasn’t. He was in earnest at the thought of wrapping you up in his robes.
You turned your attention back to him and shook your head. “No no, people will see. It’s alright.” Gaze returning to Garreth.
Sebastian stopped, robes halfway down his arms, then he shrugged them back on. “Oh... right.” He watched you shift back and forth on your feet, your fingers tapping against the potion’s flask. He could see the ache to run to the Gryffindor clear as day on your face.
“Send me an owl if anything else comes up for the relic.” You said without looking at him, and made your way over to Garreth.
He knew he should turn the other way and act like he was never speaking to you in the first place, as he always did after your furtive meetups. Yet his eyes remained glued to your form. As he watched you talking to Garreth with a beaming smile, laughing along with him as you showed him your thunderbrew potion, insurmountable heartache filled his chest.
It had finally hit him how he couldn’t care less what people thought, they didn’t even know you. No one knew you like he did, especially not Weasley. If everyone saw you through his eyes, they could easily see you were one of the most capable people at Hogwarts. If all it took to win you over was being kind to you since the beginning, he wanted to kick himself. I’ve been the biggest prat.
How could he have treated you the way he had? Asking for your help all this time, but not wanting to be seen with you in public. He had been nothing short of a coward. His fear of what others thought had led him to lose any chance with you. You were the one that’s helped him through this nightmare of a curse on his sister, you were the one willing to take on immense agony in the scriptorium for him, you were the one he yearned for. He could say the same for none of these people.
The blood drained from Sebastian’s face when he witnessed Garreth slip off his Gryffindor robes and put them on you. It was as if the wind was knocked out of him, his breathing started coming out shallow. He told himself to get out of there.
The first place he could think of was his dorm. He had tunnel vision the whole way there, a few students had asked if he was feeling alright as he passed. He waved them off, saying something about a potion brew gone wrong, he couldn’t fully remember. When he got to his dorm room, he burst through the door and sat at the edge of his bed. He leaned forward with his elbows on his knees and tried to steady his breathing. As soon as the sick feeling in his stomach started to dissipate, he laid back, throwing an arm over his eyes.
“What’s gotten into you?” Ominis asked, sitting himself on his own bed.
It took Sebastian a moment to be able to speak. He swallowed the lump in his throat and took a deep breath. “Nothing, I’m fine. Just feeling a little sick is all.”
“Is this about the Hufflepuff who helped us in the sciptorium?”
He couldn’t bring himself to say anything, and that was the only answer Ominis needed.
“Nobody cares you know. Sure it’s fun to make fun of a Hufflepuff, that’s nothing new. And one that developed their magic so late? Easy target. But in the end, no one cares. After everything that’s happened, it’s no surprise you feel the way you do.” Ominis never hesitated to call people out, but every now and then he had a way of saying what needed to be said without making someone feel too ashamed.
Sebastian should have known this, he should have had this conversation with himself before it could have gotten this far. He felt like such a child then, laying in his bed, pouting at the predicament he put himself in. But it was hard to pick himself back up, he felt his relationship with you was unsalvageable at this point and it was his fault. He was the nuisance you had to put up with because of that pesky Hufflepuff loyalty of yours, and Garreth was your escape. Garreth could make you happy just by being in your line of sight. He could only dream of having that effect on you at this point.
-
Sebastian had searched for you all day but to no avail. As a last resort, he made his way to the undercroft, he cringed thinking back on the time he first showed it to you. “I’m only showing you this place so we won’t be seen working together. You’re not welcome here if I’m not here.” It wasn’t true, but how would you have ever known otherwise? He had been so cruel to you, it was no wonder you wanted to run into Garreth’s arms. He had practically shoved you his way.
The sound of sniffling stopped him in his tracks. He pressed forward cautiously and saw you were sitting on the floor against the wall with your head down.
“What’s happened?” Sebastian strode up and knelt before you.
“Oh! Sebastian.” You startled. “I - I’m sorry, I’ll leave. Just allergies. Came down here to escape all that pollen.” You wiped at your face quickly, he could tell your eyes were puffy from crying.
His inner voice was screaming at him that this was his chance, as of that moment he could start taking steps in the right direction with you. He could become the person you wanted, slowly but surely. “Talk to me.” He sat beside you and took your hand in his, he began stroking it with his thumb in hopes it gave you some comfort.
You were taken aback by his actions, but then surmised that was probably how much he pitied you. You felt humiliated at the thought. The Hufflepuff got caught crying like a sad baby bird in the rain, who wouldn’t feel bad? You pulled your hand free from his. “It’s nothing, I just needed a moment. I’m truly sorry I came down here without you, I couldn’t think of any other place. I - I panicked.” You got up and began your escape out. “It won’t happen again.”
Sebastian tripped over himself as he went to chase after you. He ran up and wrapped his arms around you from behind, holding you in place. “Don’t go. Please, talk to me.”
His touch felt wrong to you and you slid free from his embrace. You didn’t feel safe with Sebastian, you didn’t feel safe with anyone at Hogwarts for that matter. But the look on his face had convinced you somewhat he wanted to know what was wrong. “I just had a bad day.”
He took a step towards you, hoping you would keep going.
You rolled your eyes at the foolishness you felt. “I worked up the courage to speak to Garreth about how I felt and -” You stopped and shook your head. “This is stupid, I don’t know why I’m telling you this -”
“What did he do?” His voice was direct, body stiffening.
You let out a sigh, hating that you were revisiting the memory. You looked down and began twiddling your thumbs. “I told Garreth how I felt and asked him on a date to The Three Broomsticks. He laughed in my face and said no. Said he’d be friendly with me in public but he wasn’t going to be seen on a date with me. And then he said we could still have some fun in private together.” You recalled the incident, disgusted. “But what else should I have expected? You said it yourself, no one wants to be seen with someone like me.”
Sebastian had never seen your features turn so harsh, and he hadn’t hated himself more than he did in that moment. "I never should have said that to you. Please, you have to know I never meant it.”
Your eyes didn’t meet his, he could tell you were still angry, not just with him, but with the world. He was surprised you didn’t get to this point sooner. Hufflepuffs really could put up with a lot before they’d had enough.
Sure, he wanted you to have feelings for him, but more than anything he wanted you to be happy, even if it wasn’t with him. Seeing your hurt expression then, he wanted to step up more than ever. “No good prick.” Sebastian dug his heels in the ground to storm out of the undercroft. “I’m going to kill him.”
Your eyes went wide. “What? No, it’s alright! Forget I said anything!” You grabbed his wrist trying to hold him back, but he just kept walking, dragging you along with him. “W - What happened to staying out of each other’s lives? You don’t owe me anything, Sebastian! Just drop it!”
Sebastian stopped to face you, he used the grip you had on his wrist and yanked you to him. He steadied you as you crashed into him, taking your face in his other hand and placing his lips atop yours. He wanted to convey everything he felt for you in that kiss, every thank you he should have said, every apology he should have made. You didn’t deserve any of the treatment you got at Hogwarts, especially from him.
His brows furrowed as he deepened the kiss. He tried to be tender, but the urgency was what took over with how he moved his lips against yours. Your grip fell from his wrist in shock and he used his now free hand to grab your waist and pull you flush to him. He felt you kiss him back, but with hesitancy, and then you pushed him away.
He looked at your stunned expression, “This feels wrong.” You whispered.
Shoving down the sting he felt at your rejection, he strode out of the undercroft, leaving you standing there, dumbfounded.
-
Sebastian spotted Garreth in the middle of the quidditch field, joking around with some friends. “Oi, Weasley!” He called as he strode up to the red head.
Garreth turned away from his group. “Yeah? What is it, Sall-” His words were cutoff when Sebastian punched him square in the jaw. He shot a hand up to where the throbbing began to kick in. “What in Merlin’s na - OOMF!” Sebastian rammed into his gut, tackling him to the ground. It finally kicked in what was happening and Garreth began to shove and punch back. Nearby students gathered around in a circle, hooting and hollering for them to keep going.
“Show that Gryffindor how it’s done, Sallow!”
“Get him good, Weasley!”
“Levioso!” Sebastian and Garreth were pulled apart and lifted into the air at Madam Kogawa’s spell cast. The two boys eyed each other, bruised and bloody, wanting to go back at it as she approached.
“I see detentions are in order.”
-
When Garreth confronted him, demanding what his deal was, Sebastian had dug into him. Shoving his finger into his chest, telling him he didn’t deserve someone like you.
“Oh please, as if you’re not doing the exact same thing. Everyone sees the ‘secret’ meetings the two of you have. I hardly think you’re the person to fault me.”
Sebastian couldn’t say anything in retaliation, because he was right. He deserved every punch and kick Weasley landed. But things were different now, and he was going to stop at nothing to prove it to you.
-
Sebastian leaned against the kegs just outside the Hufflepuff common room. He stood up straight when the entrance opened and you stepped out. Your gaze landed on him and your face twisted at his state.
“Are you alright?” You ran up to him and gently grabbed his chin to begin examining his bruising. Remembering you two weren’t in private, you yanked your hand back. “Sorry.” You glanced around to make sure no one had seen. It pained him, that after all the time you spent together, this was the habit he enforced in you. He grabbed at your hand and placed it against his cheek.
“I’m fine.” He thought about his next words carefully. “I'm not ashamed to be seen with you.” He began. “I’m so sorry I ever told you I was. I haven’t been there for you. If I could go back, I’d do it all differently. I really would.”
You avoided his gaze and looked down, pulling your hand away. His touch still felt wrong, and thinking about his kiss in the undercroft made you just as uneasy. Everything was so backwards, your mind couldn’t keep up. Not long ago, Garreth was the one being kind to you while Sebastian was itching to get as far away from you as possible. And now, Garreth had you repulsed and Sebastian had an avid interest to be by your side. You were in a constant state of confusion and had a strange desire for things to go back to how they were.
“Sebastian...” Your defenses went up as he moved closer to you, wanting to show you he was listening. “I’m going to be honest, I don’t believe you. All year you’ve dreaded being around me and now I’m supposed to believe your feelings changed just like that?”
Sebastian nodded his head, seeing what you were saying. He shouldn’t have expected you to be okay with all this just because he said so. “I understand. I’ve been awful to you. But I can make it all up to you, you’ll see. I can be what you want.”
You tried to search his eyes for some sort of reason for this shift in him, still not really taking in his words. “I think I need some space.” You were sick of boys playing with your feelings like this. There was only so much you could take. Pretty impressive trait of Hufflepuffs, anyone else would have felt worn thin ages ago.
Sebastian swallowed thickly and nodded his head. He forced a polite smile and left at the nearest floo.
He needs his space too. You thought. That way he’ll get over these feelings he supposedly has for you. You didn’t believe him for a second. You’ve seen other students swooning over each other. It definitely wasn’t what was happening between you and Sebastian Sallow. The only experiences you’ve had with him were secret meetings and him getting humiliated if someone associated the two of you together. He expected all that to just go away with one secret kiss? It wasn’t going to happen.
Maybe he went after someone else and they rejected him, and he was so desperate for affection he came to me. You concluded.
-
The days that followed, Sebastian kept his distance from you without really keeping his distance. Every morning, he got up early to get a flower from the fields surrounding Hogwarts, each one different than the day before. Whenever you got up from your desk or left your books unattended, he would cast the disillusionment spell on himself and place the flower in your book for you to stumble across later.
He didn’t need to see your reaction to it, but every now and then if you were in the same area, he’d be on the lookout for it. Sebastian watched from afar as you began looking through your book on a bench in the Transfiguration Courtyard. But his blood started to boil when he saw Garreth make his way over and sit down next to you.
You looked up from your book, a questioning look on your face.
Garreth was visibly nervous and wouldn’t meet your eyes. “I wanted to apologize for how I spoke to you the other day. My mother raised me better than that.”
You hummed as you looked across his features, noticing he was bruised up like Sebastian was. “What happened to you?”
Garreth scratched the back of his head. “Got some sense knocked into me by your friend, Sallow.”
“He’s not my friend.” You said plainly, trying to bring your attention back to your book. A part of you was annoyed Sebastian had actually followed through with going after Garreth, and another part was a little pleased the both of them landed strikes on the other.
He looked to your face then. “I really do like you, you know.” He confessed, and you returned his gaze. He was looking at you like he was sorry this wasn’t what he had said to you in the first place. “But I felt the pressure of everyone, and I told myself I should be embarrassed to be around you. But I’m not. Everyone else can sod off, I can see everything you’re doing even if they refuse to. You’re nothing short of incredible. I truly am sorry for what I said.”
You gave him a small nod. “Apology accepted.”
He smiled and let out a sigh of relief, then held out his hand. “Friends?”
You took it and shook. “Friends.”
He held your hand in his when you tried to pull away. “Don’t suppose that date to Three Broomsticks is still on the table?”
You scoffed but went silent when you saw he was serious. You shook your head and pulled your hand from his grasp.
“Right.” He looked down dejectedly. “Guess I deserved that, didn’t I?” He chuckled awkwardly, getting up and clearing his throat. “I’ll see you around then.” His voice was strained.
Sebastian watched as Garreth left you and made his way over to him. The red head gave him a cordial slap on the shoulder as he walked passed. “Looks like we both blew it, Sallow.”
-
You hated to admit it, but Sebastian was making some headway with you. It had been at least a few weeks since you told him you needed space, and he had given it to you. You thought it would be the easiest thing in the world for him to do, but he looked like he was struggling. Every time you caught each other’s eye, he looked like he was holding his breath, hoping that would be the day you’d approach him. You thought it’d wear off after a bit, and the distance between the two of you would have him come to his senses. But he seemed undeterred, just as dedicated as the day before if not more so.
You especially hated to admit that every time you found a flower in your books, the flutter in your chest would grow. Each time you needed to talk yourself down, because any day now Sebastian would give up and go back to only wanting to see you about his progress on getting a cure for Anne.
But then you’d think about how he kissed you. There was so much need in it. In the moment it felt off. But the more your revisited the memory, thinking back on how his lips moved against yours, you got this feeling of being genuinely wanted, perfectly safe. And that sense came from Sebastian Sallow of all people?
You watched him as he took notes in charms class. He was pretty good looking, wasn’t he? You came to notice these passed few weeks now that he was being kind to you.
He looked up from his notes and glanced your way. You held his gaze when he did, giving him a soft smile. His eyes grew wide and he became fidgety in his seat. He smiled back and his ears burned red. It was the most he’d gotten from you and he didn’t know how to handle it.
You looked back down to your notes and he looked back down at his, trying to contain his giddiness. He felt like he made a huge leap in progress and he couldn’t wait to keep going. It was just a smile, but it was the only sign he needed that he was headed in the right direction with you. He wondered if he should keep going with the flowers or step it up a bit. He wanted to respect your wishes and keep his distance, but he also wanted to do more for you.
He was so lost in thought, he didn’t notice you approach when class was dismissed. “Sebastian?”
He stiffened, panic flooding through him. He was mentally preparing to chase after you from afar, he didn’t think he’d have the right words to say face to face yet. But he willed himself to speak anyway. “Yes?”
“Walk with me to herbology?” You eyed him, like you were testing him.
Sebastian knew what you were doing, this would be the first time he’d be seen with you in public willingly and not act like he was being forced to speak with you. Bring it on. “Of course.” Sebastian grabbed your books and smiled at your surprised expression. “Come on then.”
You joined his side and as you walked with him, you noticed he wasn’t rushing. He was taking his time getting to your next class. You had to admit, you expected him to want to speed up the process to get it over with and minimize the amount of people who saw the two of you together. But instead, he let himself look smitten as he stood by your side.
The whispers and glances started up as the two of you walked along. He looked to you and noticed you didn’t seem quite as at ease as he was. He gave you a playful nudge with his shoulder and you couldn’t fight the smile that graced your lips. He was making butterflies dance in your stomach and a funny ache for him grew. You peeked back at him and the way he was smiling at you made you want to tug at his tie and have him kiss you senseless again. Calm down, don’t let him win you over yet. You lectured yourself.
When the two of you arrived in herbology, he made sure to grab a potting station next to yours. Professor Garlick called everyone up to grab some seeds for the day’s class. As you were about to go up with everyone else, he wrapped an arm around your waist to stop you. “I’ll get it.” He said in a low tone near your ear. His hand lingered and dragged across your waist until he was too far to touch you anymore. He shot you a smirk over his shoulder as he walked away.
That funny ache you felt turned into something simmering hot within you. When he came back with the mallowsweet seeds, he took your hand in his and placed them on your palm. His fingers dragged across your hand and you peered at him through your lashes.
“Be careful.” He said, releasing you and turning to his potting station. “You look like you want to kiss me.”
A burning sensation hit your cheeks and you turned to your own station. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Silly me then.”
The two of you focused, or at least tried to, on your pots before you. You planted the seeds and padded down the soil, then awaited further instruction from Professor Garlick. But you tuned her words out as you eyed Sebastian up and down. Thankfully, you were already experienced with mallowsweet, so you weren’t too concerned about falling behind.
Sebastian watched you through the corner of his eye, he could feel your eyes on him and it drove him mad. As soon as class was over, he was going to try to reenact the first time he demanded your help. Except this time when he pulled you into a hidden corner, there wouldn’t be as much talking. His jaw clenched at the anticipation.
You usually enjoyed herbology, but that day’s class was dragging on a little too long. Your mind billowed with thoughts of Sebastian’s lips and ideas of how you were going to get them back on yours.
“Class dismissed.” Professor Garlick sang. You and Sebastian immediately looked to one another, knowing exactly what you wanted to do, but unsure how you were going to get there.
“I think I -” You began, not really knowing where you were going to take your words. “I think I left something in the undercroft.”
Sebastian didn’t say anything as he grabbed your hand and pulled you along.
Once the two of you arrived in the undercroft, he closed the gate behind you and pressed you up against the nearest wall, slamming his mouth against yours. The two of you wanted to devour each other whole. A muffled moan escaped you and you cupped his face in your hands. His hands gripped your hips greedily as he tried to savor every sound he could get from you.
Unable to keep in one place long with so much of you available to him, he began kissing along your jaw, down your neck, below your ear. He could feel you quiver at his kisses and he wanted to do everything he could to keep you squirming.
You whimpered, and he knew he found the spot below your ear to be your weakness. “I... I think we left our books in herbology.” You breathed pleasantly as he kept at it.
Sebastian hummed as he continued his magic. “Such a shame.” He knew he still had a ways to go with you. No matter how long it would take him, he was going to make things right. But if he could tempt you into a kiss here and there along the way, he hoped you wouldn’t mind.

HL Fic Library 🤣 Fics With Humor
Remember to leave kudos and a comment on the fics you enjoyed to show your appreciation! You can find the library's other recs here.
🤣 Just Me, You, And This Box of Matches by tomlinsunshine @tornlinsunshine (M, 87k)
Louis is fairly sure that his new neighbour is going to destroy him. And also their apartment building, and the dumpsters outside, and all the forests within a thirty mile radius. But. Mostly him.
🤣 Harry Styles Cooks… by sunsetmog / @magicalrocketships (E, 61k+, wip)
In which Louis Tomlinson can’t cook, there’s a very special shower curtain, and Harry Styles used to be a baker.
Or: Louis owns all of Harry Styles’ cookbooks, and he never intends to cook a single thing out of any of them.
🤣 Frankincense-ational by LadyLondonderry / @londonfoginacup (T, 31k)
Harry Styles works at the Hillsyde Library with his friend Zayn and best mate Niall. It’s December, which means Christmas, which should be the happiest month of the year…
Except Niall just broke up with his boyfriend, Zayn needs to let up on the rules a little, and the library is getting their fire alarm system replaced, which means that for the next few weeks there are going to be firemen patrolling the library ‘looking for fires’ while the system is down.
Harry almost hits one of them with his car right off the bat - and of course he’s the hot one.
🤣 the butthole series by @kingsofeverything (E, 24k)
a series of standalone fics with a central theme
🤣 That's How I Know by @allwaswell16 (E, 19k)
Louis Tomlinson has just landed his dream job, coaching soccer at Augustus University. When he moves into a new house near campus, he meets his very fit new neighbor, English professor Harry Styles. Although their first meeting leads to an instant mutual dislike, the more Harry gets to know Louis, the more he likes what he sees.
Or the one where Harry’s African grey parrot spills his dirty secrets to his very hot neighbor.
🤣 Man, Deconstructed by jacaranda_bloom / @jacaranda-bloom (E, 13k)
Harry doesn’t need help getting laid and he certainly doesn’t need Niall to hire a professional to ‘sort him out’.
But when a gorgeous man turns up on his doorstep on his birthday to ‘lay some pipe’ in the back garden (who just happens to have the best arse Harry’s ever seen), his world is upended.
OR the one where a well-meaning best mate, a sculpture-worthy arse, and a heaping dose of misunderstanding combine to create sheer and utter chaos, and also, maybe, the best thing Harry’s ever found.
🤣 One Vote Can Rock the Boat by @2tiedships2 (M, 12k)
“Niall, I need you to come and vote with me tomorrow.”
“Lou, I know we’ve only been friends for about two years now, but I guess I’ve never explicitly told you I’m Irish?”
“You don’t have to vote, exactly,” Louis explained. “But I don’t want to go to a sex toy shop by myself.”
“Have I just entered an alternate universe? In what world does voting for the government correlate in any way to sex toys?”
Or the one where Omega Louis shows off his “I voted” sticker as one of the first 100 customers to get a free vibrator. The beautiful alpha behind the counter informs him that he’s customer 101.
🤣 autopilot by silkbombs (M, 11k)
Louis accidentally sends an unknown number a video of him giving a cockroach a funeral. The weirdest love story ensues.
🤣 Umbrielievable by nikogda / @cyphermedley (NR, 11k)
Three months ago they began to pick up a weak signal. They couldn’t decipher it and figured it was just a satellite they were picking up. Eventually, they were able to translate "Give us cheese" but the rest was still a mess. That message baffled them, and they immediately thought it may be a joke from another country.
Or, The one where Harry is an Alien from Uranus' moon, Umbriel whose inhabitants require cheese to survive.
🤣 Just Your Jinx by @larryatendoftheday (T, 10k)
Harry Styles may or may not have accidentally jinxed his extremely fit new neighbor, and it's not so easy to make things right.
🤣 For a day by bluegreenish / @greenblueish (T, 9k)
“While I appreciate that compliment - you’re right -, it’s not a prank. I swear. I tried calling Harry and Liam, but they aren’t picking up. And like, I don’t know what to do? I just woke up in Liam’s freaking body, and like, he’s a nice lad and everything, but I don’t want to be him?!”
Once again, tense silence fills the line for a second and Louis almost expects Zayn to hang up on him, but his friend speaks up again, voice urgent this time.
“You’re serious?”
“One hundred percent. I swear.”
or, the one where Harry wakes up in Louis' body, Louis in Liam's, Liam in Niall's, Niall in Harry's and no one picked Zayn.
🤣 Only Been Here One Time by alienharry (NR, 9k)
“Good morning, Liam. Harry.” Louis nods at them both and then cocks his head. “Are you aware you have four nipples, Harry?”
Harry looks down at his chest, suddenly worried. He doesn’t know how many nipples humans have, but four must not be a usual amount. “Should I have six?”
“Not unless you’ve a litter of kittens to feed.”
The Alien!Harry fic I was destined to write
🤣 Ain’t My Fault by @afirethatcannotdie (E, 7k)
“Liam, M4M is for sex! You posted in a sex forum about your missing jacket.”
“It is not for sex!”
“It is. Trust me.”
“Well, if it helps me find my jacket then I don’t really see why it matters. Besides, someone already texted me about it. This Styles guy’s coming over in a bit to get it.”
“You invited the avocado man to come get his jacket at our flat after posting on a sex forum. Do you see where this is going?”
“I really don’t.”
“Someone is going to have to have sex with the avocado man!” Louis screeches, and Liam covers his ears.
AU. Liam posts an ad on the wrong section of Craigslist, Louis is pretty sure they’re gonna get murdered as a result, and Harry’s missing an avocado.
🤣 Porn To Be Wild by @fallinglikethis (E, 5k)
As Louis Tomlinson writes his One Direction fanfiction in a quiet, isolated corner of the local library, the last thing he expects is for the subject of his story to interrupt him in the middle of a sex scene. But that’s exactly what happens.
🤣 Absolute Beginners by @taggiecb (T, 5k)
Louis would like to think that Niall can't surprise him anymore. He never knows what his friend will come up with sometimes. But when he calls Louis in the middle of the night and asks him to come and hit on his friend, Louis can't help but let curiosity get the best of him.
🤣 Only Reason by @letsjustsee (NR, 5k)
“We are so lucky to have with us one of the leading experts on beekeeping in the modern age, Dr. Louis Draper.”No. No, no, no… “I know I speak for many of us when I say that this man’s books have guided our practice, or helped us get started,” Harry continued, and Louis watched as the crowd nodded their heads in agreement. Oh shit. No. What? No. But then Harry was gesturing towards him, saying “Dr. Draper?” into the microphone, the crowd was applauding, and Louis found himself walking up the stairs to the stage.
Or, Louis is most definitely smitten with Harry from the second he sees him, but he is also most definitely not the world's foremost expert on beekeeping. He decides to roll with it anyway.
🤣 Catastrophe (Or Not) by grapenight (G, 5k)
Based on the prompt: "Harry's a crazy cat person and Louis is the vet he keeps bringing his cats to with minor concerns like "she's been acting weird lately" and "he didn't poop today so I'm worried" but it's really just excuses to keep seeing Louis everyday"
🤣 Anywhere With You by sweetums / @darlou (T, 3k)
“Do you want some gum?” Louis’ lovely voice interrupts his train of thoughts.
“No, thank you.” Harry responds quickly.
What? ‘No, thank you’? What was he thinking? If Louis Tomlinson offers you gum, you take it. If Louis Tomlinson offers you a vial of vomit, you take it.
“On second thought, gum would be perfection.” Harry actually considers just dying right there as he reaches over to pry the piece of gum out of Louis’ perfect little hand, eyes flitting over to the other man’s amused face.
Why did he say that? He could’ve said, ‘I’ll have some gum’ or ‘gum would be great’ or even a simple ‘thanks’ but no, no, for Harry, ‘gum would be perfection’.
He loathes himself.
AU where Harry gets stuck in an ATM vestibule with Louis Tomlinson during a blackout. Inspired by Chandler and Jill Goodacre from Friends.
🤣 Oh Honey, Honey by @lululawrence (NR, 3k)
Louis hated honey. He didn’t like the flavour, he didn’t understand why some liked it in their tea, he hated when it was put on sandwiches or cake or anything really. But, standing stock still in front of a rather large display of honey in that 24-hour Tesco, Louis found himself grabbing the largest jar of “100% pure London-local honey” and adding it to his trolley, simply because he knew it would make Harry smile.
Louis always wanted to make Harry smile.
Or the one where Louis pines after Harry, Harry is passionate about helping save the bees, and a late night shopping trip gone wrong doesn't end quite as horribly as Louis imagines.
🤣 On the Go by @phdmama (T, 2k)
Prompt: ok so i saw a truck today and i thought it said MANSCAPE but it actually said MAINSCAPE and it was a landscaping company. but then i thought LARRY AU. where louis owns a landscaping company called MANSCAPE and harry thinks it’s some sort of in-home pubic hair grooming company, so he calls to make an appointment, there’s some discussion of whether he wants his bushes trimmed as well, and then when it’s time for the appointment, harry’s like half-naked waiting around in a robe or something and louis shows up with lawnmowers.
🤣 Zoey by wabadabadaba / @bigxrig (G, 2k)
Harry knew his first name, but he liked the way Dr. Tomlinson sounded more. Harry watched as Louis unclasped her harness and set it aside and pet her back and under her chin. Louis kissed the top of her head and murmured sweet nothings to her- mostly about how pretty she is and how well behaved she is. Harry wished it was him.
or Harry has a huge crush on his cat's veterinarian and finally decides to do something about it.
🤣 Stole My Heart by @haztobegood (NR, 2k)
“Oh my god, Niall.” The door slams shut as Harry rushes into the flat. He’s still panting from his rush to get away from the scene of his crime. “You won’t believe what just happened!”
Niall is sitting on the couch in their tiny living room. He looks up from his laptop. “What happened?”
“The worst thing. I’ll never recover. I just reached into a box of free samples outside that new chicken restaurant. Only it wasn’t free samples. It was a man. Holding a box of chicken nuggets. His chicken nuggets. I stole this man’s food, Niall!”

hi! Thank you for your answer about being a larrie. What do you mean by “I’m not interested in dissecting”? Sorry I just don’t understand that word in the context, maybe it’s because I’m not a native English speaker. Do you know other people who think harry and Louis are a couple here? I feel so alone I don’t have any fandom friends anymore and as I was looking for people I stumbled upon so many hateful people celebrating over some old larries deleting their blogs 😳 I saw that droppingtheveilofMaya was active back in April but I guess she’s still a larrie because she did state as much in her last posts.
LOL! I’m sorry, love. I was starting to write a longer comment and then posted by accident. Ignore it.
Maya popped back in for a day or two, but she’s busy with her life. Of the older blogs, honestly almost all of the ones I followed when I joined are gone now. Some just lost interest, others decided HL broke up, others decided they were only interested in Harry or in Louis, etc.
But there are still lots of lovely larries in the fandom. I’m not great with recommending people, but here are a bunch off the top of my head. I would suggest scrolling their blogs to see if you like them and then see who they reblog from to get a start.
@alarrylarrie @indiaalphawhiskey @daisiesonafield-blog @blackandwhlteaesthetlc @gettingdizzy-oh @awesomefringey @lovingstheantidote @apparentlybychance @skepticalarrie (although I don’t think she’s active right now) @alexisrosea @musicfadespain28 @gayscantslicetomatoes @crinkle-eyed-boo @thewhitecitrus @ialwaysknewyouwerepunk @ishipmutualrespect @tommosgun
I’m sure I’ve forgotten a ton of people, but hopefully that helps. You can also check my BLOG ROLL tag, but you should check the blogs before following because things change from day to day.

Hi Matty ♥️
Could I ask for some HC of any HL characters of your choosing; the first time they learn accio, levioso and revelio spells and what do they think/do with it throughout the week?
Are they excited, thus, overusing it? Keep forgetting that they know the spells? Who knows, that'll be up to you!
On another note; I love your screenshots ✨
Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much for the request and the kind words! This HC set includes: Sebastian, Ominis, Garreth, Leander, Natty, and Imelda. ❤️💚 Rating: General Audiences
Summary: My Headcanons for these characters learning Revelio, Levioso, and Accio.
Tumblr media
Sebastian:
He was excited.
He loves to explore so the moment he learned revelio he was using it constantly.
You think MC was bad in fifth year? Nope.
He practically used the spell on every inch of the castle that he could find.
We also know that he knows the surrounding area very well and so I have a feeling that he used that spell a lot outside of the castle.
Ominis likes to make jokes about how he can find things easier than Sebastian can even though he’s blind.
You can imagine how he’d react to those.
Ominis:
He was probably the more normal one when it came to learning new spells.
But he found ways to integrate some of these spells into his daily life to make things easier for himself.
Wingardium Leviosa was particularly useful to him when he learned it.
Since he’s always carrying his wand around in one hand, it makes it harder for him to carry everything with the other, so why not just make it levitate?
And yes he started the debate about if Accio could be used on humans or if it was just their clothes.
Garreth:
He was an absolute menace.
He was probably in detention basically the whole next week.
Accio and Levioso became his best friends.
Leander was getting everything snatched straight out of his hands by Garreth from several feet away.
that lasted for quite a while
He only stopped when Professor Weasley threatened to inform his father about all of this but of course he can’t help but use some of these spells to prank his friends from time to time.
Leander:
Genuinely forgot he learned them.
“Garreth I can’t find my robes!”
“Just use revelio.”
“Huh?”
Idiotic loser (I love him).
But after learning Accio he was introduced to this ✨ wonderful ✨ game called summoners court.
And then proceeded to spend several hours outside practicing.
Natty:
She was insanely good at all three spells the moment after learning them.
She practiced and practiced constantly. But it paid off.
Taking Professor Hecat’s advice, she learned that even the simplest of spells could have the most effect in battle.
She is literally so cool.
She’d practiced Accio in her dormitory or around the castle with any free item that was just sitting around.
Imelda:
Similar to Garreth.
She might be serious on the Quidditch field but she’s a tad mischievous outside of it.
Definitely snatched books from first years with Accio (sorry I don’t make the rules)
Levioso was an interesting spell to her though. Since brooms levitate and fly obviously she wanted to know how the connection was made between the spell and what made the broom levitate.
“Mr. Weeks how does–,”
“Miss. Reyes, this is the fourth time you’ve asked me that question this week.”
Probably goes and asks Madam Kogawa the same question.

(inspired by real events in my second HL playthrough made possible by the companion mod lmao)
summary: a map with messy sketches of landmarks was all you had to go on. that normally wouldn’t prove so challenging if you hadn’t been at hogwarts for all of a week and hadn’t gotten a chance to leave the castle yet. the remedy? a somewhat overconfident fellow fifth-year, who’s face hadn’t slipped your mind since the moment you saw it.

you needed to use lumos, that much was clear. a bridge, some floating candles, a disheveled archway, some trees, and…hogsmeade? you took your eyes away from the dusty parchment for a moment to scan the boundless grounds that surrounded the northern exit of hogwarts. You stood just outside the courtyard with the gentle wind flowing through your hair behind you. Your scarf followed suit, protecting you from the dusk chill that nipped at your now blushing cheeks and nose.
you saw a few different bridges leading to what looked like an endless sea of forest and no floating candles. having already circled the castle looking for good amount of time, you realized treasure hunting was a lot harder than you had anticipated. you eyed the map again, searching for the missing piece of the puzzle.
being at hogwarts so far had taught you many things. one of those being honing your ability to focus. casting ancient magic required great amounts of focus and discipline, as did any spell. sometimes your ability to drown out distraction came to your benefit, and other times— well, other times it just made it easy to sneak up on you. and, of course, sebastian sallow loved it.
“searching for buried treasure, are we?” the familiar feeling of your soul jumping out of your body momentarily rushed over you, an instinctively deep breath entering your lungs.
“for the love of merlin, sallow! don’t you know it’s rude to sneak up on people?” you pouted, clutching the parchment to your chest. your chest heaved as your heart settled and he just chuckled looking at you. you hoped the heat rising in your face would be excused as wind chill.
you couldn’t help yourself around him. around everyone else you were cunning, witty, and charming, but in front of him, you were a awkward school-girl, tripping over your words at every turn and blushing at his every remark. the flirtatious slytherin boy picked up on it immediately and it pulled him to you “like a moth to a flame” as he described it to his closest friend, ominis.
“yes, actually. i just like to knock you down a peg. the ‘chosen one’ ordeal is going straight to your head,” he replied sarcastically, gesturing to your head with a poke of his finger. you swatted his hand away, unamused.
“i’m not the chosen one,” you mocked him, returning to your map.
“that’s what it sounded like to me!” he retorted, but you didn’t bother responding as your eyes locked on the sketches again.
“hey, is that the entrance to the forbidden forest there?” he invited himself to investigate the clues, pointing to the rocky archway in the center. he leaned in to get a better look, closing the gap between the two of you. at that very moment, you were pretty sure you forgot how to focus because you couldn’t even try if your life depended on it. the wind carried his scent over to you as he started to fill your senses.
“yes, there’s the bridge, the entrance, then the trees and hogsmeade to the northeast…that’s just over there.” your gaze followed his hand, indicating to the furthest stone bridge from you and if you squinted, you could see the forgotten archway. he casually grabbed your hand, starting to lead you in the correct direction.
“i don’t remember agreeing to this!” you called to him as he walked swiftly in front of you, trudging through the wild grass to cross in a more direct path.
“you didn’t!” he called back, turning to meet your eye with a mischievous smirk falling to his lips. you stifled a girlish chuckle and jogged lightly to catch up to his long strides. after finding your way back to a path, the bridge was just a few paces in front of you. you eyed the forest’s edge, wondering what might be hiding behind the thick brush. you stop just before the bridge and sebastian notices your distant stare.
“don’t tell me you’re afraid of the forbidden forrest. nothing you can find in there is worse than what i’ve already seen you best.” he assures you.
“i’m not afraid! just thought i heard something…” you trail off, leaving the two of you in silence for a moment. you listened to the wind howl around you, taking in the path you could now clearly see you were meant to take. you took a deep breath and held up your wand.
“lumos.” now you wear leading the way across the stone bridge, scanning the space around you for any reaction. then, as if they appeared out of thin air, a few flickering candles began to float into your view, taking you across the bridge and under the ancient-looking archway that held several warnings against your very actions.
“ah, following floating candles into the forbidden forest. this should be interesting.” you welcomed sebastians familiar sarcasm. at the present, even though you previously denied it, you were trembling in your little boots. the countless duels didn’t scare you because you were at the advantage. no one expected a 16 year old to wield such powerful magic, so you were always underestimated. it was aggravating, but it gave you the upper hand when they were too shocked to cast back.
in the forest, however, you were left vulnerable with so many possible blind spots and vantage points that enemies could hold against you. it made you nervous, to say the least.
"we're looking for a large, dead tree..." the both of you continued to hold your wands up as you followed the candles deeper into the forest. owls cooed and dugbogs crooked in the distance, saving you from the awkward silence. If only the peaceful ambiance and captivating nature around you could calm your nerves too.
"ah, here we are...just a bit further i presume." his casual and confident tone ignited a warmth in your stomach that was fairly new to you. you couldn't quite put your finger on it, but being in his presence, especially hearing his voice, made your entire body buzz. you weren't sure what to call it, but you knew you wouldn't be able to keep your feelings hidden much longer if it kept recurring. you wouldn't be able to bare it.
"jackdaw didn't exactly tell me what i was looking for. we could be walking into anything," you admitted, biting your lip as you realized how far you had traveled.
"jackdaw? i doubt he would give a map of certain death to a student.
"you should've seen where i had to go to find the blasted map,' you retorted, causing the boy to snort with laughter. without thinking, you giggled along with him, your eyes meeting for a brief moment. you looked away instinctively, but the furious blush on your cheeks still remained.
"look! just up ahead!" he swiftly passed you, following the candles around a sparse, rocky path with a large brush on either side. you found yourselves on a landing looking over a charming river, an overgrown wooden bridge going across it. the bundle of candles that led you here joined a larger swarm that lit up the romantic scenery in front of you. an iron set of two chairs and a matching table with more candles and a bundle of wildflowers as a centerpiece. the flames flickered like shining stars that surrounded you, illuminating the various flowers and shrubs planted around the table.
your heart instantly started pumping faster in your chest as you searched his expression for a reaction.
"you could've just asked me on a date, you know," he teased, looking around at the scenery.
"i didn't--"
"i'm only teasing, calm down now," he held a defensive hand up and interrupted you before you could respond. "treasure!"
you followed his sight to see a shiny bronze chest with a lock clasped around the opening. he immediately tried it, just in case, but no luck.
"just our luck..." he scanned the area for a clue and you followed suit. while investigating the table, you noticed a tiny glowing swirl in each seat. you looked back to the lock to see a matching light coming from it as well.
"sebastian...i see something." he rushed to your side.
"what is it?"
"the seats, they're glowing..."
"okay, are you sure this wasn't a secret plot to get me to go with you? you really didn't have to do this--"
"enough, sebastian." you rolled your eyes, and he broke.
"alright, i apologize, that was the last time. i promise." he couldn't help from chuckling at your furrowed brow and twisted mouth. you hated when he said it, but he found you incredibly adorable when you were angry. you sighed and he silenced himself, clearing his throat.
"okay, i think it's pretty clear what we're meant to do." it was his turn to show a flustered demeanor as he straightened his robes, looking at you from the opposite end of the table.
"right..." you fidgeted where you stood before he finally gained the courage to round the table, placing both hands on the back of your chair. his hazel eyes met yours, almost asking for permission. you nodded and he pulled your chair back for you, watching as you took your spot in it. the grass floor prevented him from pushing your chair forward, so he lifted it to set you down further beneath the table. he returned to his original stance, facing you as he fixed his suit once more before sitting down as well.
the candle's glow grew significantly, lighting up the area as if a street lamp was just above. you heard a prominent click-click come from the chest as the lock fell to the ground. you almost turned to look at the chest, but your eyes were locked in with sebastian's, unable to falter. he looked breathless, almost. completely and utterly taken aback.
"sebastian? are you alright?" he blinked as if your voice brought him out of a trance.
"yeah, just...you look stunning right now." he admitted honestly.
"oh! thank you." the redness in your face returned just as quickly as it faded. silence fell on both of you again. he seemed deep in thought as his gaze fell to the table.
"sebastian? the treasure?" his head popped back up, and reality set back in for him.
"right. you're splitting that with me, by the way." he was back to his cocky self as he stood to investigate the chest. you followed suit, rushing to catch up to him.
"you wish, sallow."
"is that so? you wouldn't have been able to open the chest without me here, would you?" he taunted you as you joined him next to the bronze treasure.
"fine, but you're getting us butterbeer after this." he opened the chest, revealing what looked to be around 250 galleons.
"I don't think that will be a problem."

How do you think Azriel will get a POV if Elriel doesn’t happen? Sarah already said she writes about women, so if he get’s a pov it’ll probably be similar to Cassian’s in SF. Now, Elain is the last sister and Sarah is clearly planning on giving Azriel more protagonism, wouldn’t it be the obvious choice to put them together? And Gwyn is cool but do you really think Sarah will make her a main character? I don’t think so
I don't think it would be the obvious choice to put E/riel together for POV reasons.
SJM is not finished with this series after the next book.
We know Lucien needs to discover that Helion is his father and discover his full powers. We know that Beron needs killed so Eris can take over as HL of Autumn (and the LoA's abuse and Eris's torture can finally come to an end). We need to see the Valkyrie become an elite fighting unit (and not just three females which is not the Valkyrie truly being reborn, they need to be a legion of warriors). We know Mor needs to come out to her friends. We know that Elain needs to discover her powers. We know that Spring needs restored. We know that the peace treaty needs secured. We know the Illyrians not respecting female warriors needs to change. We know we need to discover why Nesta was left with Gwydion and the Prison territory. We need Vassa's curse to be broken. We need the box Koschei hides his soul in to be found. We need the illness plaguing the Pegasus foals to be cured. We know Koschei needs defeated. We need to find out exactly why Merrill was researching the Valkryie and time travel. We need to find out why SJM wrote that Nesta would call the dead to her in the thousands, but not just yet.
It would be impossible to solve every single one of those storylines in an Elain / Azriel POV and that means someone has to get a POV after that.
So who has the power to carry a book after that? Lucien and Vassa?
Gwyn, in a single book, has had way more dialogue than Vassa over the course of 2.5 books.
Gwyn is fae and Vassa is a human.
Gwyn is connected to main characters in the NC and Vassa is not connected to any of them, she's connected to Lucien and regardless of how much of the story is set outside the NC, there needs to be a NC character who has a main connection to the leads since they are the "Gandalf" of this series. Lucien isn't going near the NC if Elain rejects their bond.
Gwyn is connected to the Valkyrie who SJM hinted at having a story beyond what we saw in SF and Vassa.......will do what after she's freed from Koschei? Lead the humans?
I'm not sure why anyone would feel Gwyn can't become a main character yet Vassa can when Vassa has shown absolutely zero interest in the fae since the war against Hybern. And like it or not, this series is about the fae while the humans take a backseat.
If Yrene could spring up as a main character with a POV in TOD which was her first appearance, then why exactly is there any arguments against Gwyn becoming one too? She's already farther along that Yrene ever was.

I just can’t fathom that a female would choose to be with someone that hunted her sister, an accidental accomplice to ending her human life, that still visits Tamlin, and lives in a house her exfinacee provides. That’s a lot. Especially the housing. How do you come back from that? I’m not trying to be all mean but I’m asking honestly how can someone come back from all that and be Elain’s love interest?
Usually I wouldn’t respond to this but here we are…
1) “hunted her sister” & “accidental accomplice to ending her human life”
You answered your own question – accidental. Lucien had no idea about the whole Hybern situation, and he did not approve of it when he found out but it was already too late. He couldn’t do anything at that point, and even if he tried to you do remember that the King was there? He would just lose his head.
In beginning of ACOMAF when Tamlin was starting to abuse Feyre, he tried to help. I don’t have the books right now to actually give citation needed for this so I looked on wiki:
“…he does what he can to alleviate some of that control, often at the expense of his own well-being. From providing her with weapons to hide on her person when Tamlin wouldn't, to begging Tamlin to allow Feyre to properly train and use her newfound powers, Lucien was seemingly the only member of the Spring Court to fight for her autonomy. When Tamlin locked her in his manor, Lucien urged her to be patient, promising to see what he could do in order to set her free, despite the threats on his life.”
I think you can see yourself that he tried. Tamlin obviously wasn’t listening to him anymore, and he is a High Lord – what do you think he could’ve done more? His entire life depends on the Spring Court as he has been welcomed to it after Beron murdered Jesminda, it’s the only place he could call home (at that point in the book). Tamlin was unstable, if he could’ve hurt Feyre he could’ve hurt Lucien too. He is a diplomat, not a warrior, and doesn’t have Rhys’ influence as a HL to do anything more.
Also: when he came for Feyre at Night Court you have to see things from his perspective. Feyre, in his eyes, was at the heart of enemy territory, in court of a man who he knows only as Amarantha’s whore for last 49 years, who murdered A LOT of people on Amarantha’s behalf, and who hurt Feyre too.
In ACOWAR, when he had to decide, he went with Feyre. He fought on NC’a behalf by finding Vassa and Father Archeron
Feyre considers him to be a friend.
2) still visits Tamlin
I mean….yeah? Tamlin was his best friend for hundreds of years, he gave him a home after the Autumn Court fiasco. It’s not easy to move on from that.
I do hope he moves on in next book because we know Tamlin hurts him too.
3) house Graysen provided
To be honest, I don’t really know what to say for this because I don’t see anything wrong with it.
In ACOFAS he said he has nowhere to go, him not being homeless is fine with me LOL.
Side note: him living in a house Graysen provided is by far the least concerning thing you mentioned
IN SHORT:
I explained to you my views, but I don’t expect you to like Lucien or Elucien. That’s not my job nor do I care. I have nothing against Elriel, Vassien, or any other ship. You can ship whatever you want, but I do not like people twisting characters to fit their ideals. I am just a teenage girl shipping words on paper, I do not hurt anyone
I do have to say tho, Rhys and Feyre had a rougher start than these two (UTM was HORRIFYING) yet they worked out. Peace out.

Until You Scream Again 👻 - Garreth x Ghostface MC AU
Super late Weasley Wednesday post and not on a theme because there wasn’t one this week, but this idea was inspired by a convo with @greedyforgarreth where we thought it would be cool to remake my Ghostface Garreth fic, but instead MC is Ghostface and Garreth is the supportive boyfriend who is hella into it. So consider this a part 2 of sorts to my Ghostface Garreth fic, with the roles reversed.
Garreth Weasley x Ghostface F!MC - 3k words || Summary: Garreth believes his girlfriend is cheating on him. He decides to confront her about it, but gets much more than he bargained for.
Warnings: Smut, mentions of viol3nc3 and murd3r. Characters are 18+, college students, and it's an AU, so not in the HL universe. Do not engage if you are under 18!!!
Tumblr media
“That lying bitch!” Leander shouted as he downed his beer.
“Relax mate, I still don’t know if she’s actually cheating on me. I hope not, but let’s not call her names until we know for sure.” Garreth said as he drank his own beer, trying to calm his best friend down as they leaned on either side of the kitchen island inside the apartment Garreth shared with his girlfriend, the subject of Leander’s harsh words. Although Garreth was trying his hardest not to jump to conclusions that she was cheating, it was hard to ignore the signs.
Yesterday was the third time this month that she had done it. She claimed she had to rush off to work, that the veterinarian had an after hours call and needed his best vet tech to assist, which was normal enough and had happened before. But these recent “calls” she had been getting always happened much later than normal, and she’d come home well after midnight, after Garreth had already gone to bed. The strangest part, when she did come home, she’d run straight into the shower, before even saying hello to Garreth. Anytime he would try to greet her, she’d refuse him until she had showered. Garreth and his girlfriend had been dating for three years now and he had seen her come home with all types of animal bodily fluids on her scrubs, why was she acting so strange now all of a sudden? Not to mention, anytime Garreth questioned her about how her evening went, her answers were always incredibly vague, a stark contrast to other times that she’d come home with tons of stories to tell about her work day.
“I know you love her, mate, but you have to face the facts.” Leander interrupted Garreth’s thoughts. “You said it yourself, why is she rushing into the shower as soon as she gets home? Probably to wash that other man off of her before climbing into bed with you. Fucking whore.”
“That’s another thing.” Garreth took another swig of his beer as he continued. “She’s different in bed too. She wants me to spank her, pull her hair, call her a whore, all these naughty things. Don’t get me wrong, it’s hot as hell, but it’s different.”
“Yeah, that other guy probably does it to her and now she wants you to do it to her too. She’s cheating. You need to catch her in the act. Confront her at the front door, before she has a chance to shower. If it seems like she was with another man, then you have your answer.” Leander advised as he grabbed another beer from the fridge.
Leander was right. He needed to catch her red handed. He was going to wait until the next time she had a late night call, act like he was going to bed, and then wait up for her. He didn’t want to believe the love of his life was cheating. He had already started shopping around for a ring. But the worry was eating him alive. He would remain hopeful it was just a misunderstanding, but he needed to know one way or the other.
-------------------------
She arrived home from work a little after 6pm, in a chipper mood as usual. Garreth also behaved like normal, not wanting to raise any suspicions. He pulled her into a deep kiss, which she returned with the same enthusiasm, her hands coming up into his hair as she moaned against his lips. “How could she be cheating on me?” He thought to himself, still hopeful that it was a misunderstanding. She pulled away from the kiss after a few moments. “I need to hop in the shower. I’m all sweaty from dealing with the dogs all day. Care to join?” She shot him a seductive smile and he was instantly putty in her hands, letting her lead him to the bathroom.
Within seconds, they were undressed and under the warm shower water. They resumed their prior activity, her kisses becoming more passionate than before. As her lips moved to Garreth’s neck, Garreth’s heart began to ache as Leander’s words echoed in his head. “She couldn’t be. There’s no way.” He kept repeating to himself to drown Leander out of his head. He was so caught up in his conflicting thoughts that he was no longer paying attention to his girlfriend, at least not until he felt hot wet lips wrap around his cock.
Garreth snapped back to reality with a groan as he looked down, her mouth moving up and down his length. One hand involuntarily wrapped in her wet hair as he thrusted into her mouth, his other hand keeping him steady against the shower wall. She looked up at him, her eyes full of love and admiration as she took him to the back of her throat, Garreth moaning in appreciation. She kept eye contact as she worked him, letting out muffled moans herself. Garreth’s thoughts returned as he kept his eyes locked with hers, but this time all he heard was his own voice instead of Leander's, telling himself “She’s not cheating. She loves me.” Over and over again.
Every single thought in his brain was obliterated as he came with a loud moan, shooting his load straight down her throat. She proudly swallowed every drop, giving him one final suck before she released him. He helped her back up to her feet and pulled her into one more kiss before they actually started showering, the thought of her cheating never once popping back into Garreth’s head.
---------------------------
After they were showered and dressed, they found themselves on the couch trying to find something to watch. As they flipped through tv channels, a news report caught Garreth’s attention.
It was another report on the Ghostface attacks. Three attacks this month, the most recent being yesterday. They all happened at night on campus. Garreth and his girlfriend thankfully lived in off campus housing, but it was still close to home. Whoever this psycho was, they were running around in a mask, the police dubbing them “Ghostface”. This Ghostface also had a habit of calling their victims on a blocked number before attacking them, taunting them and asking them questions with some kind of voice changing device to mask their identity. Garreth was worried about his girlfriend having a run in with this maniac, especially with her late night outings.
Once again, Garreth’s thoughts were interrupted by his girlfriend, who had changed the channel. “Can we watch something else? This guy creeps me out.”
---------------------------
About a half hour later, the couple were snuggled under a blanket on the couch, Garreth’s arm wrapped around her. He watched the tv intensely, a sudden music sting sending him screaming into her arms.
“Wow babe! You really can’t handle a scary movie, can you?” She teased, stroking his red curly hair.
“Hey! No need to be rude!” He replied as he playfully pushed her to lay on the couch. She giggled as she went down, and he proceeded to climb on top of her, dipping his head down so he could kiss her. The kiss started off gentle, but became more heated as the seconds went on. The movie quickly became forgotten as Garreth’s fingers slipped below the waistband of her panties, her moans drowning out any sound from the tv.
He pulled his wet digits out of her so that he could undress her, pulling down her sweatpants and panties in one motion. He then worked his own pants off and lined himself up with her soaked entrance. His tip had just breached her when her phone rang on the coffee table, which she answered, much to Garreth’s annoyance.
Garreth let out a huff as he got off the couch, rolling his eyes and putting his pants back on, listening as she repeated the same words she did every time: “Yeah, I can come in! Okay. See you soon!”
She could see the frustration in Garreth’s green eyes. So far he has made an effort to not seem suspicious of her, but he was reaching his breaking point, almost on the verge of tears. “Seriously babe?! Can we please just have a night together without you leaving?!”
“Garreth, I’m really sorry!” She seemed genuine as she stood up, still naked from the waist down. She wrapped her arms around his neck, staring lovingly at him. “I promise this will be a quick job. I’ll go, come back, and then, you can do whatever you want to me tonight. Okay?”
It was so hard for him to deny her, especially when she looked at him like that. He sighed and gave his approval. She smiled and pecked him on the lips before running to their bedroom to change.
----------------------------
Ten minutes later, with her work bag in hand, she bid him farewell.
“I’ll be back soon, okay baby! Keep the doors and windows locked, and keep an eye out for that Ghostface!” She shot him one last smile before heading out.
Garreth looked down at himself, noticing his cock still very hard from their earlier activities. “Guess it’s you and me now, Not-So-Little Gar!” He sighed before dropping his pants once again, situating himself on the couch, cock in hand.
--------------------------
The shrill ring of his phone woke Garreth up from his nap, having fallen asleep after taking care of himself and cleaning up the mess. He looked around, noting that the apartment was still empty, his girlfriend not having arrived home yet. Garreth looked at his phone, the time reading 11:45pm, and the caller ID reading “blocked”. Reluctantly, he answered with a soft “Hello?”
“Hello, Garreth! Do you like scary movies?” Garreth immediately recognized the voice as the Ghostface voice, the same one that was described in the news broadcast. It was raspy and robotic, like it was coming from a voice changer.
Garreth shot up from the couch. “Uh…who is this? Is this you, Leander?!”
“No. This isn’t Leander. Now answer the question, handsome! What’s your favorite scary movie?”
“Well, I actually don’t really like scary movies. Jurassic Park scared me pretty bad when I was a kid and I’ve been traumatized ever since.”
The voice giggled at Garreth’s reply. “That’s cute. You’re very cute.”
Garreth felt himself blush at Ghostface’s words, but he got a hold of himself, assuring himself that this was just a prank.
“Leander, you’re not funny, mate. Cut the bullshit.”
“THIS ISN’T FUCKING LEANDER!” The voice screamed. “You know, you’re lucky you’re so cute, or I would have gutted you like a fish already. I just love the way your white tee shirt shows off your muscles so nicely. Fuck. I just want to bust through your door and throw myself on you. Ride your perfect cock until you’re screaming for me to stop.”
Garreth's emotions were conflicted, on one hand, he was terrified at the realization that whoever this was must be able to see him, since they knew what he was wearing. On the other hand, Ghostface was naughty, and he could feel arousal taking him over. He approached the living room window. It was locked, but the curtain was open, making it the likely source from where his caller was watching him.
“Fuck. That sounds hot. I’d love for you to ride me, baby! But wait, how do you know what I'm wearing? Are…are you watching me right now?”
“Oh yeah I am, baby! And I can see the outline of your delicious cock poking through those grey sweatpants, just begging for attention. Don’t worry. I’d be happy to give you some.”
Garreth felt his cock twitch at Ghostface’s words, but his brain processed a completely opposite feeling - panic.
“This has been a lovely conversation, Mister Ghostface, but my girlfriend would not be pleased to hear this, so I’m hanging up now. Enjoy your evening.”
“Wait! Don’t you fucking hang up on me! If you hang up I swear I’ll-”
Garreth ended the call, dashing to the windows to shut the curtain, then running to the kitchen to grab a knife. His eyes darted between the front door and his phone, desperately trying to call his girlfriend. But a sound froze him in his tracks -  the sound of the front door being opened.
In walked Ghostface, dressed in a black robe and brandishing a knife. Garreth held up the knife in his own hand, waving it around and frantically screaming.
“Garreth!” Ghostface shouted in their signature altered voice. “Garreth stop, it's me!”
Garreth looked over at Ghostface, confused for a moment before Ghostface pulled off their mask, long beautiful hair falling from the mask.
“Babe?!” Garreth almost burst into tears. There she was. His girlfriend. The love of his life, currently holding a knife in one hand and a Ghostface mask in the other.
She dropped the knife as she ran over to him, throwing her arms around his neck. “Hi baby!” She planted a soft kiss on his cheek before looking up at him.
“But…but if that was you on the phone, that means…you’re…”
“Ghostface. Yep. That’s me! Well, I’m half of Ghostface. It’s actually me and Imelda! This was mostly her idea. You know she’s a little craaaaazy.” She put a sing-songy emphasis on her last word. “I was just along for the ride. I know we’ve only done this three times, but it’s pretty sexy being so in control with this thing on!”
“So…you’re not cheating on me?” Garreth asked, almost on the brink of tears.
“WHAT?! Baby I love you. Are you insane? I would never cheat on you!”
With that out of the way, Garreth could focus on the variety of other feelings he was experiencing right now. His girlfriend was Ghostface. He knew it was wrong what she was doing, and he knew it was wrong to feel this way, but he found her so incredibly hot like this - sweaty, panting, with a hungry look in her eyes. His arousal began to make itself known again as his hard cock began to press against his sweatpants. All his logic and reasoning began to fade away. He shot her a wicked smile before he spoke, recalling her taunting on the phone.
“What was it you said on the phone? Something about ‘riding me until I begged you to stop’?”
Her jaw dropped, immediately turning into a smile as she threw her arms around him once again, leading him into the bedroom, where she lightly shoved him so he’d land on the bed. Garreth undressed himself fully, but when she went to remove her robe, Garreth stopped her.
“No! Leave it on. I want you to fuck me in it!”
Her heart almost burst out of her chest at his willingness. She reached under her robe to pull her bottoms down, so that she was bare from the waist down under her robe. In one quick motion, she climbed on top of him, lifted up her robe, and took a moment to position herself above him before she sank down on his length, her wetness allowing her to take him fully and deeply.
They both let out pleasured noises at entry, and the room quickly began to fill with more loud noises from both of them as she rode his cock. Garreth noticed movement in the corner of his eye, noticing the Ghostface mask that had been discarded on the bed bouncing around with each rock of her hips. He held it in his hand for a moment, imagining her causing mayhem with it on. He then held it up to her and practically growled at her.
“Put it on.”
She did so, and Garreth let out a sinful groan in appreciation. She felt her walls tighten at the sound, and she picked up her pace as much as she could, eagerly chasing both their releases. Garreth let out a whimper of her name, and this finally sent her over the edge as she came with a whimper of her own, her cries slightly muffled by the mask.
Her movements came to a quick halt as she caught her breath, removing the suffocating mask from her head. Those quick seconds were more than enough time for Garreth to grab her and flip her over, so that he was now on top of her, her legs spread and Garreth in between them.
He wasted no time, effortlessly shoving himself into her. Her screams filled the room as he showed her no mercy, his pace fast and rough. She had been encouraging him to be rougher with her lately, but this was the roughest he had ever been with her, and it had her spiraling in the best way possible.
“You’re so pretty, baby! My pretty little whore. Why don’t you put the mask back on for me again?” He said through gritted teeth.
She was already drenched in sweat brought on by the robe and the intense fucking, but she obeyed. She watched him through the eyes of the mask, his eyes dark as he stared at her.
His thrusts started to become sloppy; the telltale sign that he was reaching his release. He let out one final moan of her name as he came, warm bursts of his cum painting her insides. After taking a second to catch his breath. He rolled over on the bed, and she removed her mask.
They laid in silence for several minutes, basking in the afterglow of each other, Garreth’s arm around her, and her head resting on his chest, listening to his heart beat. Garreth’s mind was reeling. He had no idea how their relationship would change. He still loved her, that would never change. But now he knew what she was capable of. He would never admit it to anyone, but he found his girlfriend’s hobby to be extremely sexy, albeit terrible. He decided he would figure it out in the morning, succumbing to sleep with the love of his life wrapped in his arms.
At least now he finally had his answer. She wasn’t cheating after all.

The Devil Doesn't Bargain
Word Count: 4.5k
Themes: angst, very brief mention of abuse? Imelda is a piece of work in this but she means well
Warnings: Potential spoilers for HL. All characters are 18+ in their 7th year of Hogwarts.
If anyone’s curious this song here is the one I had on repeat while writing this
Tumblr media
Y/N twirled the quill she was holding, her work forgotten in front of her as she looked across the library to where Sebastian was sitting a few tables away. He was frowning as he looked between his textbook and the parchment he was scribbling on, deep in thought as he worked on whichever essay they had been assigned. He looked more tired than usual and Y/N couldn’t help but roam her eyes over him carefully, looking out for any other signs that everything was not okay.
Their friendship has never quite been the same after the untimely death of Solomon Sallow in their fifth year. Despite not turning Sebastian in (the easiest decision Y/N had ever made in her life) and his reassurance that he was glad they were friends and that she had come to Hogwarts, he had begun to pull away in the beginning of their sixth year. It started slowly; from passing on visits to Hogsmeade and skipping the odd class because he wasn’t feeling well to barely acknowledging her when he walked by her in corridors, not even a nod in greeting. There was only so much she could do - so much she could take - before Y/N began to retreat as well, opting instead to spend more time with Ominis, Imelda and Poppy.
“Don’t do this.” Imelda kicked Y/N under the table gently and she reluctantly tore her gaze away from Sebastian to send a glare at the raven-haired girl.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Y/N rolled her eyes and flicked through her textbook, skimming the page for the information she needed. If she hadn’t been studiously avoiding the eyes of her friends she would have noticed the look the two girls shared followed by Ominis’ quiet sigh.
“Don’t play stupid, it doesn’t suit you.”
“I see we’re back to the tough love route,” Ominis said, the corners of his mouth twitching up in amusement as his fingers trailed across the braille in his book. “Do you think this discussion will end in throwing objects again? I don’t like my odds of ducking to avoid Y/N’s inkpot.” He turned his head in Poppy’s direction, who laughed quietly even though she was watching Imelda and Y/N nervously.
“I would much rather we didn’t discuss this at all, actually,” Y/N couldn’t help but look over at Sebastian again, if only just to piss Imelda off, but was surprised to see him looking back. She offered him a small smile in greeting, her stomach flipping pleasantly when he smiled back. She quickly turned back to her work, her leg bouncing under the table in elation. Apart from occasionally meeting her eyes as they passed each other in between classes, that was the most interaction she and Sebastian had shared in months.
“I know that look in your eye,” Imelda pointed her quill at Y/N, her eyes narrowing. “Do I need to remind you of what happened the last time you thought he was coming back around?” Y/N stifled an annoyed sigh and bit the inside of her cheek, if only to stop herself from lashing out. She knew Imelda was right, knew she was only being so firm because she cared. “Sebastian Sallow doesn’t care about anyone other than himself.”
“He cares about Anne,” Y/N muttered petulantly. Imelda kicked her ankle again in reprimand and Y/N hissed in pain. “Fuck, stop kicking me!”
“Stop being stupid then!” Imelda leant forward, her voice lowering considerably.
“You’re ridiculous.”
“You’re better than this. He’s ruthless, he’s a liar. He’s abusive.”
“Sebastian would never hurt me.” If looks could kill then Imelda Reyes would be ten feet under. Y/N knew what her friend was saying came from a well-meaning place, but how dare she. How dare she speak about Sebastian that way - speak about her that way. She wasn’t an idiot any more than Sebastian was the devil Imelda made him out to be.
“Again, you mean?” Imelda snapped. Y/N sucked in a sharp breath at her words, at the sudden reminder of the agony the cruciatus curse had caused. Ominis stilled at the witch’s words, his amused expression dropping as he stopped reading his book. Poppy and Imelda shared a look between them. Y/N and Ominis never told them everything that had happened in their fifth year but they had worked out more than enough.
“You don’t know anything.” Y/N leant forward to hiss the words at her friend.
“I know you don’t want to let go.” Imelda crossed her arms and leant back in her chair, a smug expression on her face. “People talk, Y/N. Sallow’s fascination with the dark arts wasn’t exactly a secret, even before you joined the school.”
“That’s enough Imelda.” Ominis turned his head to glare at the girl, his words icy. “I thought you of all people would be above petty gossip.” His hand drifted under the table to gently squeeze Y/N’s knee, reminding her to breathe. “I may not talk to Sebastian anymore, but that doesn’t mean I’ll allow you to sit here and disparage him like this.”
“Oh? Care to tell us exactly why you both stopped talking to him after his uncle died?”
“Imelda…” Poppy had a pained expression on her face as she looked between her friends, before darting her gaze over to Sebastian, who had his head buried in a book. “You’re going too far.”
“Apparently there’s no such thing when Y/N is concerned. She’ll forgive me and come crawling back, just like she does with Sallow.”
“So what if I do?” Y/N snapped, her voice rising. Madam Scribner shushed them sharply and sent them a glare, not that Y/N could find it in herself to care as she leant across the table to growl at Imelda. “Sebastian is one of my best friends, Reyes. Present tense. I don’t care that he’s not spoken to me in months - I will always be there for those who need me. I’ll always be there if he needs me.” Y/N looked over to Sebastian as she took a steadying breath, her eyes meeting his again. He watched her carefully, his head tilted to the side as he recognised the tell-tale signs of her anger. She couldn’t bring herself to look away from him as she spoke softly, justifying it with how far away he was sitting. “You have no idea what happened to us in our fifth year, absolutely none, so don’t pretend just because you listened to some bullshit gossip that you’re omniscient. The shit we went through - what the three of us went through - was something that’s bound us together for life. You don’t experience what we did and have the ability to stop caring for the other person - not that you could ever understand that.”
Something shifted in Sebastian’s gaze as Y/N spoke about him, and a small part of her wondered if he had somehow gained the ability to read lips and knew exactly what she was saying. She swallowed heavily as the air between them changed, her heart thumping nervously in her chest. Words from their fight echoed in her mind, but they were all drowned out by every good action he had ever taken for her, every good thing he had ever said to her. Y/N wasn’t quite sure if she could ever pull away from his hypnotising stare, but it seemed Imelda had made the choice for her as she leaned across the table and grabbed her chin, forcing her to look back at them.
“You can lie to me all you want, but I was there.” Imelda held Y/N’s chin firmly as she spoke, not tight enough to hurt, but enough that she couldn’t pull away. “Every single time you came back to our dorm room crying because he hurt you, I was there. I saw what he put you through and he doesn’t care. He’s not worth it. I won’t pretend to know what happened with the three of you in fifth year but he will never change. He’s only going to hurt you over and over again and you keep letting him. The devil doesn’t settle, Y/L/N.”
Y/N finally smacked Imelda’s hand away and broke free from her grasp, her eyes burning with humiliation and anger. Poppy looked taken aback at how forceful their friend was being, while Ominis gripped the edge of the table in frustration. He couldn’t tell exactly what was happening in front of him, but the tone of voice, followed by the sharp slap of skin, was indication enough. There was a tense silence at the table as Y/N and Imelda glared furiously at each other, neither of them willing to break the silence first. Y/N blinked back the tears of frustration that were welling in her eyes and stood up, muttering to the table that she needed another book for her essay, and ignoring Poppy as she quietly called after her.
She had to pass by Sebastian’s table as she walked away, her shoulders tight with tension as she very obviously avoided his eye so that he couldn’t see her tears. He stretched his arms out casually as she moved past him, his hand brushing hers gently. Y/N didn’t know if it was an accident or not, but she didn’t let it stop her as she made her way towards the shelves she needed and rounded the corner, disappearing from the immediate eyesight of her friends (and yes, as rage inducing as Imelda was, Y/N still considered her one).
Her shoulders slumped once she was hidden from view and Y/N couldn’t help but to gently press her forehead to one of the shelves to calm the mixed emotions that were running wildly through her. She was angry at Imelda, because how dare she speak to her like that - how dare she grab her like that. She was frustrated at herself, because even though Imelda’s approach was far from ideal, she was right. Y/N always got her hopes up whenever Sebastian would flash her a warm smile in passing, and it normally led to her crying or screaming in their dorm within the week because he had gone back to his usual routine of ignoring her. The final feeling (one she didn’t want to linger on for too long) was how her heart was racing wildly as the casual touch of Sebastian’s hand as she passed by him. She didn’t want to admit what the sensation was, not even to herself, and instead tried to convince herself that the fleeting graze of his skin on hers was nothing more than an accident.
“Imelda is sorry.” Poppy said softly, her quiet footsteps stopping a couple of feet away. Y/N let out a humourless laugh and wiped away a tear before she looked over her shoulder at the Hufflepuff.
“You and I both know that’s a lie. Have Ominis and Imelda sent you to corral me back?”
“No. Imelda wanted to march over and drag you back herself but I told her to leave you alone and give you a little space. Ominis agreed with me and said he knows first hand what your anger is like?” Poppy phrased the end like a question, earning a surprised chuckle from Y/N.
“I think I’ve scarred him for life after he took my coffee from me the other morning.”
“Poor choice.” Poppy laughed softly, knowing first-hand how grumpy Y/N could be in the mornings before her caffeine. The pair fell into a comfortable silence as Y/N turned to face the shelves again and pulled a book out to see if it held any information that could help with her work.
“What is it, Poppy?”
“I don’t want to upset you any more.”
“It can’t be any worse than what Imelda said to me,” she reminds her with a sigh. After a few more seconds Poppy still hadn’t responded so Y/N closed the book and turned to face her, holding the tome to her chest as she waited.
“I just…Imelda wasn’t all wrong,” the shorter girl shrugged and offered Y/N a sheepish smile as she looked at her in surprise. “Her delivery could have been a lot better, though.”
“That’s the understatement of the year,” Y/N muttered.
“Look, you know I’m not the type to lecture and condescend. All I want - all we all want - is what’s best for you. I know you might think Sebastian is it but I don’t think he is.” Poppy lowered her voice considerably and peaked around the corner as she said his name, taking care he wasn’t around to eavesdrop.
“I thought you Hufflepuff’s always saw the best in people.”
“We’re loyal to fault, and my loyalties lie with you, not him. I’ve seen you cry over him too, Y/N. I never told anyone about the fight you two had.” Y/N stilled at her friend’s words, her mind flashing back to the argument that that had happened a few months ago. After weeks of being ignored again Y/N had finally cornered Sebastian in the Undercroft, and much like a powder keg the whole thing blew up with harsh words flying back and forth between the pair. She had finally hit him with her worst fear; that he had only stuck around with her because she was a means to an end to cure Anne. Sebastian had gone silent before nodding, and turned to leave her alone in the room, his parting words of well if that’s what you think of me echoing around her long after he had gone.
“Why?”
“Why didn’t I tell anyone?” Poppy asked. “Or why do I think he isn’t what’s right for you?”
“Both.”
“For one, Imelda would probably hunt him down and actually kill him if I told her.” Poppy tilted her head to the side, a dry smile on her face. “But mostly it was because of you. If you wanted everyone to know they would - you wouldn’t have come banging on the Hufflepuff common room door past curfew asking for me.” Y/N gave her friend a rueful smile and dropped her head back on the shelf behind her to count the ceiling tiles so that she wouldn’t cry again. “As for still being mad at him…what you said was out of line, but he never fought to correct you or prove otherwise and I watched as that killed you. No one cries like that over a friendship. You both said some vile things to each other but he ripped your heart out of your chest and I don’t think I can ever forgive him for that.”
“You don’t mean that.”
“I do.”
“I was in the wrong for saying that to him.” Either of them could have apologised. It didn’t fall to just Sebastian. Y/N had said things to him that were just as nasty - if not worse - during their fight.
“You were,” Poppy agreed, “but that still doesn’t excuse his behaviour. You always make excuses for him. I’m not going to get mad like Imelda did but I will say I’m not surprised.”
“Why?”
“Because it’s obvious you’re in love with him.” Poppy gave her a sad smile and Y/N felt her cheeks burn as she froze, her eyes wide as she looked at her friend apprehensively.
“I never said - ”
“You didn’t have to.” Poppy reached out and squeezed Y/N’s hand gently before turning to walk away again. “I know you might think he’ll change this time, and maybe he will - I really hope he does, to be fully honest with you. But just remember one thing.”
“What’s that?”
“The devil doesn’t bargain.”
Poppy walked back to their table, leaving Y/N alone with her thoughts once again. Her heart clenched painfully in her chest and a small part of her was grateful that nobody really ventured into that corner of the library as she sank to the floor slowly. She pulled her knees up, resting her forehead against them as she tried to calm her breathing and hold back a fresh wave of tears. They were right - they were always right. Sebastian did this to her constantly; he kept pulling her in only to push her away again. The last time it had happened was around their fight, and she had been a wreck for weeks because of it.
“Y/N.” A pair of feet shuffled to a stop in front of her, and Y/N felt herself go still. She would recognise his voice anywhere. It was ingrained on her very soul. He sighed quietly and she heard the shifting of fabric as she sat down across from her, his legs stretched out in front of him so he could tap her ankle gently with his shoe. “I know you can hear me.”
“What do you want, Sebastian?” she asked, not raising her head to look at him, even though it muffled her voice. If she looked at him all resolve would break and she would either scream at him for leaving her or turn into a blubbering mess and she didn’t particularly care for either of those reactions at that moment.
“Look at me.”
“No.” Sebastian laughed, a genuine laugh which sent shivers down her spine. Y/N slowly lifted her head but still didn’t look at him and instead opted to stare at his polished black shoes.
“You’ve always been so stubborn.”
“I learnt from the best.”
“That Slytherin pride really did hit us both hard,” Sebastian mused. He was quiet for a few moments before he crossed his legs and scooted closer to her so that he was almost sitting on her feet. “Look at me, darling.” Y/N hated the way her body reacted to the term of endearment. She hated that her stomach flipped pleasantly, that her heart started to beat erratically, that she could feel her face burn. She finally looks up at him, meeting his warm brown eyes with a withering glare.
“Don’t call me that.”
“Are we still pretending you don’t secretly like it when I call you darling?”
“I’ll punch you.”
“Probably,” he chuckles quietly and reaches out to brush a stray tear from the corner of her eye. “Who did this?”
“Why do you care?”
“Contrary to what you shouted at me in the Undercroft, I have and always will care about you.”
“You have a funny way of showing it.”
“So we circle back to the pitfalls of Slytherin pride?” he asked, raising an eyebrow at her. “You could have just as easily spoken to me first.” Y/N looked away from him, turning her head so that she could see Madam Scribner standing at her desk and watching them both like a hawk. He was right. Hadn’t she just thought and said the same thing when she was speaking to Poppy? “Was it Reyes?”
“Will you curse her if it was?” Y/N couldn’t stop the words from tumbling out of her mouth and she instantly grimaced. “I didn’t mean - ”
“You did and that’s okay.” Sebastian pulled his hand away with a defeated sigh. “I haven’t touched dark magic since that night in the catacombs. I know some people think otherwise, but they’re wrong.” He catches the confusion on her face as she wonders how he knows that and runs a hand through his hair. “You’re all not nearly as silent as you think you are.”
“You heard everything?”
“Including your speech about how you’ll always be there for me.”
“What about…?” she looks away, stomach churning with nerves as she thought about what Poppy had said to her. ‘It’s obvious you’re still in love with him’.
“Your conversation with Sweeting stays between the two of you. That felt private.”
“And what we were saying at the table wasn’t?”
“Not when you were looking at me like that.”
“Like what?”
“Like I’m worth saving.” Y/N felt her heart crack in her chest at the look on his face. She slowly shifted so that she was crossing her legs instead and reached out to brush the back of his hand.
“Everyone is worth saving.” He gives her a sad smile at that, noting that she still won’t quite meet his eye as she chews on her lower lip nervously. They sit in silence for a few moments as Sebastian watches the cogs turn in her head before she lets out a quiet sigh and finally looks at him. “I’m sorry for what I said to you.”
“I’m sorry I treated you so poorly that you even thought about it in the first place.”
“I didn’t mean it. I just…I was angry and hurt and I lashed out and wanted you to feel even a fraction of the pain I was feeling. I know you were never just using me in the hopes of finding a cure for Anne. You didn’t even know about my ability to take pain away until we had been searching for a cure for months.”
“It doesn’t matter if you did mean it - I forgive you,” he murmured, taking her hand in his. He mulls over his next words carefully, a small frown on his face. “I was stupid to push you away. I thought you both would be better off without me - especially you. I led you down a dark path and never stopped to consider the consequences of doing so. I ruined your life.”
“No you didn’t,” Y/N tightened her grip on his hand so that he would meet her eye. “I’m my own person, Sebastian. I chose to follow you down that path. You always asked if I wanted to learn and I said yes. You never forced me into anything. You didn’t ruin my life.”
“What do you think will happen if anyone ever finds out what happened to Solomon?” his voice lowered considerably as he spoke. “You’re not just going to get a slap on the wrist, Y/N.”
“No one will find out, Seb. Even if they do, it was my choice. I was the one who told Ominis we shouldn’t turn you in.”
“You…why?” Sebastian’s voice cracked as he asked the question and Y/N saw tears start to well in his eyes. “Why would you risk everything for me like that?”
“Because I - ” Y/N broke off as she felt her face burn. Now wasn’t the time to accidentally tell him that she loved him. “Because I would do anything for you.”
“You said that in the present tense.”
“I did.”
“Even after all the horrible things I said to you?”
“I wasn’t exactly a saint back, Sebastian.”
“I don’t deserve you.”
“You do.” Y/N leaned forward and kissed his cheek before she could process the decision. “You deserve everything, Seb. You deserve to be happy.”
“You made me happy - you make me happy. Present tense,” he squeezes her hands gently. “I was an idiot to ever push you away.”
“Well, you won’t hear me disagree with that,” Y/N teased. Sebastian laughed quietly and she felt like a weight she didn’t even notice got lifted from her shoulders. “If you ever do this again…”
“Duly noted, no need to continue with that threat,” he chuckled. Footsteps walked in their direction - too heavy to be Poppy or Imelda and too purposeful to be any other student. The tell tale glow of Ominis’ wand lit up the stacks moment before he rounded the corner and came to a stop a few feet away from the pair.
“Y/N? Are you still here?”
“I am.” Ominis’ wand wavered to the left slightly, a barely perceptible frown on his face as he wondered who else was present, before he exhaled.
“Hello, Sebastian.”
“Ominis.” The pair stared at each other tensely (or at least, Sebastian stared at Ominis, whilst the latter looked slightly to his left) before Ominis turned to Y/N with a resigned expression.
“Shall I tell Imelda you’ve left? I can bring your things to the common room later.”
“She’s never going to believe it.”
“No, she won’t.” Ominis rolled his eyes and leaned against the bookshelf slightly. “She put two and two together the minute Sebastian walked in this direction, but Poppy is keeping her at bay.”
“She is?”
“She told me to tell you if you hurt Y/N again she will set a Hungarian Horntail on you,” Ominis turned back in Sebastian’s direction as he delivered the threat. “I don’t think I need to add what I’ll do if I ever have to listen to her cry again because of you.” Y/N looked away from Sebastian as his head snapped back in her direction, a look of distress on his features at knowing just how much pain he had caused her.
“Understood.” Sebastian stood up and brushed the dust from his trousers before offering Y/N his hand. She hesitated for a few seconds but took it nonetheless and let him pull her to her feet. Sebastian didn’t let go once she was standing and instead he laced their fingers together and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. “Thank you, Ominis.”
“Don’t thank me yet. If it wasn’t for Poppy I would jinx you where you stand.”
“Well, thank Sweeting for me then.” There was a small grin on Sebastian’s face as he carefully tugged at Y/N’s hand, silently asking if she would go with him. She nodded before releasing his fingers so that she could pull Ominis into a tight hug. He froze, not expecting the contact, before weaving his wand-free hand around her frame and hugging her back.
“You tell me if he tries anything,” he muttered in her ear.
“Right after I hex him first.”
“That’s my girl.” Ominis released her with a chuckle and Y/N wandered back to Sebastian, who placed a hand on her lower back as he led her out of the library. They walked in silence until they reached the north exit for the castle and Sebastian let out a long breath and turned to look at her.
“I need you to know I’ll never treat you like that again. I can’t even begin to make it all up to you, but I’m willing to spend the rest of my days doing so,” he said. Y/N reached out for his hand and laced their fingers together again as she pulled him towards the gate that would lead them towards the path for Hogsmeade.
“On one condition.”
“Anything.”
“You forgive me for how I spoke to you and what I accused you of,” she came to a stop and turned to look at him.
“Done,” he said quietly, a soft smile on his face. “I forgave you for that a long time ago, Y/L/N.” He brushed some hair behind her ear, his touch lingering on her cheek before he cleared his throat and looked away, his cheeks tinted pink. Y/N felt her stomach flip pleasantly and couldn’t help but smile shyly as they turned back towards the path. Now wasn’t the time to consider her feelings for him, or to tease him for his blush. But one day the bridges between them would be mended completely, and so she stored the information away for then.

You may not be interested in this but i just don’t understand who to share with, I’ve been a larrie for more than 4 years now & in the fandom and truly believed HL are together and everything else was smoke and mirrors to closet HL.. but since beginning of 2023 I’ve started observing the pattern instead of considering what was being said in the fandom and could see that HL cannot be together and all that being said was just the way of convincing themselves and others that they’re together.. it took me a year of going back and forth that may be there is a slight chance that they’re together still, may be it sound too much but its actually hurting to finally trying to grasp that is not the case.. I’ve very close person in my life since my childhood and we’ve been so close my entire life and because of family feuds which i thought wouldn’t phase our relationship has done just that.. she is choosing other people to spend time with and go on vacations which we both planned and it broke my heart multiple times.. am saying this because for quite sometime fandom was giving me peace but seeing harry moving on(not with what is showing with TR) and living a life without single care is hurting too.. i know you think louis does not care but this is what i saw and to think even last year or even in 2015 when harry tried to put on show and move from band and louis, i cannot even begin to think of what louis might’ve gone through.. with all the tough facade he seems emotionally very fragile guy.. friendships are equally important as relationships i know but relationships drain us emotionally more, to think that louis felt the heartbreak, to see his once loved one put all of this in louis face and he has to go through all of this is making me sad.. I’ve tried deactivating socials multiple times but i come back and it is still the same.. why it is always one person gets to hurt more than the other over and over..
I remember louis saying why it is always me and when would I win, i remember it suddenly and it just breaks my heart..
Am so sorry to say all this here!
Hi,
Thank you for your candor and sensitivity. I read this ask a couple of times to take it all in. I’m grateful that you trust in my blog enough to send it.
Often, I see that fans relate to the Larrie story because of our own circumstances. It is incredibly romantic to imagine that two very beautiful, very charismatic people are united in fighting for love, and for us, for our own desires and our sense of resolution or justice. Then you see all the fandom lore and it seems amazing that it all comes together, even the bits that seem like… well, improbable, maybe a bit of a reach… almost too good to be true.
What I’ve realized after a long time, is that none of what you see is unbiased. I have changed my opinion even in the last year, because as more information comes to light, we have to change our assumptions. Not to question you, but you assume that Louis is sensitive, and has been hurt by his “once loved one throwing it back in his face.” Maybe it feels hurtful and intense because you’ve only started to question the truthfulness of Larry. But maybe these events took place ten years ago. Maybe six years ago. It’s true that since 2018, Harry and Louis have barely spent any time in the same country. They don’t share acquaintances or friends or professional contacts. Harry is besties with James Corden and Ben Winston, who teased Louis in 2019 that they don’t even have his telephone number. Why wouldn’t they just ask Harry?
Maybe it’s been so long that Louis has already worked it out of his system. He wrote a whole album of personal disappointments and betrayals. He wrote Back To You and Miss You, and Walls and Habit and Defenceless. And there aren’t any such songs on FITF.
“You never told me never, I guess I never knew we'd have the shortest forever”
“Maybe if you'd taken more time/ I'd still be the one you wanna talk to every night.”
“I was lucky once, I could be lucky again.”
Assuming that there was anything to Larry at all, Louis isn’t sad about his past relationships. He’s moved on from blaming himself.
“Spent my whole life just thinking I had to change.”
And the whole concept, the title of his album is Faith In The Future. The Australia merch was so much fun because we finally saw that the couple on the merch graphics were not in a dystopian story. They find each other, they find love. (And the funny 369 manifestation on the clocks!)
“Love is only for the brave.” This was a difficult thing to say in Walls, and as if to illustrate it, the song was as short as we could bear. The church of romance had been burned, sacrificed— destroyed in the most dramatic way. Louis felt excommunicated, a lonely shadow.
Copy Of A Copy Of A Copy was a transition song, from broken beaks and dead birds to finding community and hope.
Heartbreak is the human condition. Despite it all, Louis opens his heart. He cries. He loves. Sometimes he loses. But to engage in love authentically means to take a real risk — not to be certain that you’ll be loved back or that things won’t head south, or that you won’t be betrayed, because we all know Louis’ history. Still, Louis “keeps his heart open.” That’s something to applaud and not pity.

My hc as being the daughter of SB and sister to HL:
Soldier Boy/Daughter
His feelings towards having a daughter I would say is very “neutral” given his behavior towards women, he’s more or less pretty awkward about it because now he’s like “Do I have to not act like a dick with this “thing”?”
But surprisingly he TRIES to be less vulgar and does try to protect you in a sense that he knows how men think
One of his main phrases with you is “A lady shouldn’t act like this” basically overall EXTREMELY MISOGYNISTIC sadly you don’t know any better growing up
You learn about womanhood through his various lady friends, don’t even bother asking him because he’ll probably kindly tell you to fuck off KINDLY
Awkward hugs, like “there, there”
Any bully that you may have depends on whether they are male or female
Male = beats the shit out of them, then their dad, then fucks their mom and will probably steal their bike to give to you as a Xmas present, it’s July btw
Female = acts all nice and when no one is looking tells them this “If you keep fucking with my kid, I’m gonna fuck your mom and ima gonna be your new daddy..now give me $20”
He’s gonna keep the $20
Homelander/Sister
SISTER COMPLEX
He did pretty much raise you the minute SB brought you home
Your the only consistency he has in his life, growing up he tries his best to protect you from everything SB related (doesn’t always work)
When SB brings home a lover HL tells you that’s dads special friend and if they are too loud which is all the time he gives you ear muffs and plays the quiet game with you
SB is passed out in the hallway? Oh he’s sick he’ll be fine (probably)
Isn’t particularly happy when the team Payback is around but is glad that they are under SB’s foot
Doesn’t mind Black Noir, both you and HL are pretty attached too him growing up
But as you grow older and venture out and try to make new friends, HL gets extremely jealous wanting to be your ONLY BSF
Calls your friends “sluts” for trying to erase his influence over you and if you get a bf he will totally SNITCH to SB
His fondest memory of you both is when you were kids and trying to avoid SB because he was in one of his moods and you and him were under the covers, you pinky promised him that you’ll never leave him and he’ll never leave you
His “friends” are your friends and doesn’t see anything wrong with that Bc he’s your big bro and he could always use Maeve and Starlight as a scapegoat
SB would hold his baby girl at arm's length, unsure of what to do with this delicate little thing.
first few years of your life he'll dress you up in boy clothes cuz he doesn't want to deal with baby girl clothes with all the pinks and frills. Homelander will be the one to pick you up a yellow onesie with a big sun on the front from a thrift store with his money from being a paper boy
Soldier Boy will find himself growing softer the longer he cares for you. When it's just the two of you at home, he'll even speak softly to you with a lilt of using a baby voice. he'll outright deny it though if Homelander catches him using the voice
the way you learned about periods? one of SB's lady friends left her purse out in the living room and you rifled through it, finding not just her cigarettes but some funny looking torpedo things. she informed you how it worked. literally terrified you because bleeding for four days straight is not normal and SB sure as hell wasn't going to teach you about feminine hygiene.
and from the Crimson Countess you learn that some women also wear the flimsiest underwear.
"Did you see her underwear? It looks like it's made out of floss!" you'd giggle while HL can only flush and tell you that's not what proper ladies wear and steer you the other way
really, the only member of Payback that you and HL liked was Black Noir. he'd draw with you or take you and your brother out if everyone was being too. . . rowdy
Buster Beaver's Pizza Restaurant becomes a favorite
really, Black Noir is the only male HL feels comfortable letting you be around
even his male friends he trusts to a certain degree. never would he leave his sister completely alone with any of them. more like they're his little spies who tell HL of any other bugs scuttling around you
he doesn't like it when you make your own friends who try and pull you away from his side
will do anything to turn you against these 'sluts'.
both of you have bonded through the trauma of growing up with Soldier Boy. huddled under the blankets to ignore the outside world. Homelander holding you close and promising it will always be just the two of you against the rest of the world. and you full heartedly believe him because he'd never lie to you. not your beloved big brother who carries the sun on his shoulders just for you. even if he doesn't like your friends that aren't his. after all, he was just trying to keep you safe. that was his main goal in life.
and frankly, as bad as HL sister complex was, your big brother complex was even bigger
as you were Homelander's only constant, he was your's as well.
@theeonlyroman thank you so much for sending all these HC 😭❤️ i look forward to every single one of them and get so giddy and excited to answer them ❤️

Yesssssssss I couldn't agree more that everyone is queerbaiting nowadays - businesses, brands, people etc. Everyone wants the lgbtq+ community on their side. Artists are doing it, actors are, everyone. So if someone is repeatedly saying that they're straight and the gay speculation is damaging their mental health, or that conspiracy theories that were formed 10 years ago are still bothering him today and is hurtful to his young son (who probably doesn't know any better lmao). They're outright lying. They're closeted. Because if they were straight they would be taking advantage of the speculation like every other straight or closeted celebrity. It would be good for their career, bring them more attention and money. But they're doing the opposite in this day and age where being queer is more acceptable and it's not seen as a bad thing so why are they treating speculation as a bad thing? What is wrong with speculation? They're either homophobic or closeted, and since we know they're not homophobic it only leaves the closeted option lol. Take M*rvel for example... the actors are constantly queerbaiting and people love it. One of my friends put it, the industry encourages shipping culture and engages in queerbaiting but they draw the line at letting their artists/actors actually come out the closet. Speculation is fine but not the real thing. I hope this changes one day. Imagine if we had a famous out gay couple like HL, on their scale. Yeah... that would be really impactful.
Hi, anon!
Yes, exactly! Louis is so obsessed with being cool and appearing cool. You know what's considered cool nowadays? Being queer friendly, embracing queer culture and celebrating queerness! It's shows you're all about to tolerance, inclusivness, progressiveness and diversity. All things young and modern people of today value and consider to be cool.
There is nothing wrong with being gay, so why blow up about some harmless fan speculation? If you're secure in your own sexuality, especially if you're straight, you shouldn't mind people projecting their queer fantasies onto you, like you don’t mind them projecting their het fantasies onto you. If you really are straight you wouldn't mind at all (unless you're homophobic). Nobody minds, even in the very masculine sport of F1 the drivers don’t mind being shipped. They love it and embrace it. So why does Louis?
Tumblr media
It would be great if we got an out gay celebrity couple one day. I hope it will be H and L.
