I haven’t read the comics and I was sooo surprised when I first saw comic!Hob. Ferdinand definitely bright a lot to the table, and I think his warmth added a lot of layers to Hob

I mean.... yeah. Comics!Hob is Just Some Guy (which absolutely fits his narrative arc/purpose, but still). Then they cast a swarthy sex viking with bedroom eyes who literally waited 133 YEARS to be sure that Dream could find him again, after all their previous meetings were "how much can I subliminally communicate that I want to fuck this man without ever actually saying that I want to fuck this man," and blammo, we were all obsessed.
