I hate that I hate doing things in my own dude but it's so fucking boring !!!

It was the first hot day in months and Alice had convinced Chris, Nick and Matt to go to Malibu with her. By the time they arrived at the beach, getting themselves situated on the sand, it was about 6 pm and the heat of the day was beaming down on them.

"Ali," Nick said grabbing Alice's attention and she spun around after laying her towel flat on the ground, "Do you have the sunscreen?"

"Yeah, here," she nodded, grabbing it out of her handbag and throwing the bottle to Nick who quickly started covering himself in the protective liquid. She quickly tied her hair up into a ponytail to keep it out of her face before she slid off her t-shirt and shorts.

"It's so fucking hot," Matt groaned, sliding off his shirt and sitting down on his towel beside Nick. Alice nodded in agreement as Chris took the black cap off of his head, throwing it onto Alice's bag.

"Fuck this. I'm going straight to the water," Alice announced, throwing her phone on top of her bag before she jogged down the beach. Her feet reached the water, the coldness giving her immediate relief and she instantly ran in, the water reaching her shoulders.

She heard a splash behind her and she turned around to see her boyfriend appear from under the water behind her. He shook his head, shaking the water off of his hair like a dog making her raise her hand to avoid water getting in her eyes.

"Hey," Chris said smoothly, swimming towards her as she smiled at him, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as he wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her closer, "You look pretty, ma."

"You look like a wet dog with this hair," she giggled at him, swiping a few pieces of his wet hair off of his face. He once again shook his head, making her face scrunch as she turned away from him, "Asshole."

"You love me," he mumbled, leaning forward and pressing a delicate kiss to her lips making her melt into him. She pushed her feet off of the ocean floor, wrapping her legs around his waist and he moved his hands to hold her up by her thighs.

"You're lucky you're cute because you're a fucking idiot," she mumbled against his lips with a smile making him return the facial expression, squeezing her thighs and she squeaked, "Chris. We're in public."

"How am I supposed to not touch you when you look this good?" he asked rhetorically with a smirk and she rolled her eyes, pretending to be annoyed.

She was never truly annoyed with how clingy he was, in fact, she loved it. Whenever they were together, they would be touching in one way or another. Chris always wanted to be close to her, to feel her skin on his. He was like that with his friends, he loved being physically close with anyone he loved and cared about but it was a whole new level with Alice. He couldn't resist squeezing her waist or grabbing her ass, no matter if they were in public or not.

"Alright love birds. Stop fucking in the water," they heard Matt's voice appear beside them and they looked over to see him dip under the water getting his hair wet. Soon enough, Nick joined them in the water and they all swam around until their legs got tired, their arms hurting from splashing heaping amounts of water at each other.

They began walking out of the water and Nick spoke up, "You guys wanna get ice cream?"

"I'm beat. You guys can go," Alice answered tiredly as she walked across the sand.

"I'll come," Matt shrugged to Nick and they all looked at Chris whose mind seemed somewhere else, "Chris?"

"Huh?" he asked, turning to see they were all staring at him.

"You wanna come with me and Nick to get ice cream?" Matt asked, used to his brother zoning out by now and Chris shook his head, stopping right beside his towel.

"I'm tired. I'll wait with Ali," he explained, grabbing the towel off the sand and shaking it off before wrapping it around his shoulders, drying off his hair as best he could.

"You want us to bring any back?" Nick asked, sliding his t-shirt on his torso as Matt slung his t-shirt over his shoulder.

"I'm good," Alice responded and Chris shook his head. Matt and Nick grabbed what they needed before bidding their farewells, promising that they'd be back soon. Alice plopped herself down on her towel, her legs spread out in front of her as she leaned back on her palms.

Her boyfriend decided to push her knees apart and place himself between them, his back to her as he looked out at the sea. Alice smiled at his actions, his clinginess showing once again. She scanned his hair and trailed her eyes along his neck and shoulders. She loved every inch of him but she'd realised she never paid much mind to his back.

Her eyes took in every detail, freckles and all. It was only then that she noticed a round birthmark the size of a bottle cap on his lower back. She leaned forward, taking one of her hands and running her fingertips along the birthmark making him jump.

"I didn't know you had a birthmark," she said softly and he spun around to look at her, a smile on his lips.

"It's how our parents used to tell me and Matt apart when we were babies," he explained and she nodded, her fingertips delicately trailing his flesh raising goosebumps on the skin.

She leaned forward, placing her chin on his shoulder as she wrapped her arms around his waist, pulling him closer to her. She liked that Chris didn't necessarily care about being the big or little spoon, he just wanted to be close to her in any way he could and if that meant he was the little spoon, he was happy as a clam.

"I love you so much," she mumbled, placing a kiss on his shoulder and he leaned his head back on her shoulder, turning his head to meet her lips with his.

"I love you, ma," he smiled against her and she had butterflies on her stomach once again, this moment somehow feeling private and intimate despite the amount of people on the beach with them.

"I love your hair and your eyes. I love your nose, your lips, your jaw," she gently kissed his jaw making his eyes flutter close as he placed his hands on her forearms that were still around his torso, "I love your neck and shoulders and arms. And your hands, god your hands."

He chuckled, opening his eyes to look at her with a love-filled gaze, "You're really gassing me up here."

"I'm not done," she quipped making him smile once again, "I love your chest and your back. I love your waist," she squeezed his sides lightly making him let out a heavy breath, "And your hips. Your thighs are better than mine."

"Not true," he mumbled, his gaze fixated on her face that was illuminated by the sun that was slowly falling closer to the horizon.

"Very true," she retorted making him shake his head, "I never knew I could love a person's legs but here we are. Fuck your feet though. I will never love anyone's feet."

"That's so rude," he frowned at her with a fake pout making her roll her eyes with a smile, "I love your feet."

"That's because your fucking weird," she teased him as she squeezed his waist again making his eye flutter closed.

"I like it when you do that," he whispered, his hard demeanour completely disappearing when it was just the two of them.

"This?" she asked before gripping his waist gently once more and he hummed in response as she bit her lip, "Well we are in public so maybe we'll wait till we're back at yours before you start humping the air."

He whined out of aggravation, opening his eyes to look up at her again, "But it feels nice."

He pouted at her once again and she shook her head, placing another kiss on his lips before saying, "It feels nice because you're horny. I can see you getting hard, baby. I'm not doing it again."

He pursed his lips, grabbing his towel which was behind his back and pulling it over his lap making her giggle.

"I wanna go home now," Chris rolled his eyes and she chuckled at him once again. She decided to tease him a little bit now that the towel was over his lap and she ran her fingertips softly along his waist.

"You're gonna have to wait," she said softly before placing a kiss on his jaw and gripping his waist once again, eliciting a groan from him as he slid down further.

"Fuck you," he frowned up at her and she gave him a sly smirk, kissing his lips gently before looking into his blue eyes being illuminated by the sun.

"Yeah, I know you want to," she giggled before looking up, seeing his brothers approaching them with ice creams in hand, "Pull yourself together. They're back."

You laughed to yourself, seeing Aonung trip over the sand during his walk of shame. His dad had just scolded him for giving the Sully family a hard time. Neteyam followed behind, hiding a laugh after seeing your own amused face. Your tail whipped Aonung as he walked by, and he turned around with a, ‘Just wait till later’ look. You flipped him off and rolled your eyes. He always tried to look tough, despite you two being friends he was always an ass.

Neteyam scratched his head, standing next to you awkwardly. “It was a difficult conversation to hear. I cant tell if my dad is scary or if Tonowari is..” You scoffed, “They’re both equally horrifying. Especially when they yell like they’re the only ones in the clan.” You shook your head, tying back your braided hair.

“Alright, let’s get some diving training in, Mr. Fall off a still Ilu.” You said while nudging him with your elbow before turning away from him to walk to the active waves. “It was one time! I didn’t get good balance!” Neteyam said, following behind you quickly.

You clicked your tongue, “Woo, tuctuctuc. Woo tuctuc.” Your Ilu, Rita emergent from the waves, and Neteyam mimicked your ways as well, his rushing to him and splashing him with water. “I feel like he just has something against me.” He said, wiping off his face with his large hands.

“Psst, your Ilu is a girl.” You said, a smile forming on your face while you straddled Riti. Neteyam groaned, petting his underwater friend. “Yo, sorry bro- girl, sis? No wonder you’re fed up with me..” He straddled her, grabbing onto the handle and looking up at you shyly. His smile looked so soft, and he waited for you to dive first. You raised a brow, not taking the lead this time,

“Your turn to dive in first, Yam.” You said while crossing your arms. He just gave you a sad look, taking a series of deep breathes, his blue cheeks puffing out as he dived in, his Ilu already taking off with yours following next to him just as fast.

‘You have good breath control. You learn quickly.’ You signed, releasing the handle of your Ilu for a short while before swimming up to quickly grab it again. Neteyam nodded happily, glad he was getting praise. You two continued circling around, chasing coral before heading to the surface so he could get some air.

“That was a good run, you did great.” You said with your eyes closed, and baby blue hands pushing back stray braids and hairs. He stared at you, the way your torso tensed up along with your arms as you raised them above your head. He covered the lower bit of his face with his hand before turning to you again with an ego. “You should give me a date as a reward.” Neteyam said with confidence. “I wanna get to know you, without that sarcastic little tone.” You actually laughed out loud, “You want a date, beat me in a race and you’ll know everything about me.”

Neteyam grabbed your hand, shaking it as a deal before petting his Ilu and motivation. “Let’s do it. You’ll know i’ll win.” You smirked, “Alright, big boy. Let’s see how fast you can go.” Both of you readied up, Ilu’s speeding off into the depths of the ocean.

Safe to say Neteyam definitely won that date. Knowing that his crush on you and that sassy little personality of yours is his biggest weakness.

Humming under his breath, Hobie stood at the edge of his deck, staring out into the distance, mind overrun with quiet thoughts. The night was basically silent, no people nor animals in sight, just Hobie and his canal boat, slowly drifting along the soft waves.

He was still fairly close to shore, and could see some faint lights of alive homes, but it was growing very late, and everyone was going to sleep for the night.

But Hobie couldn't sleep. He was tired, of course, anyone would be after the day he'd had...but he just couldn't sleep.

It was difficult for him to sleep these days. So many scenarios littering his mind, making him think, fear, dream. Not a day went by where he wasn't suddenly awoken by a terrible nightmare, the screeching of civilians flooding his brain, images of horrific villains filling his dreams.

So staring out at the water, enjoying the silence, it was much more calming for him. It was also a way for him to avoid the sleepiness crawling up his spine, latching its gentle claws around his shoulders and pulling him into the soft, warm enclosure of his bed.

But he refused to give in to the temptation, to the tiredness. What he'd experience when he was asleep was too much to bear.

Besides, he couldn't have any nightmares if he was awake.

Suddenly, Hobie's expression perked up, and he leaned his head forward. He'd heard something, but he wasn't sure what. He stopped humming, the area around him falling completely silent as he strained his ears to listen for whatever might have been there.

He heard a faint hum.

His spider-sense began to tingle.

The song was beautiful, nothing like he'd heard before. It was quiet, soft, reminding him of the way a hug would feel, warmth and love, wrapping around one's body and holding them close. It was musical, vibrant, but just enough to make him feel even sleepier than before.

It was also strangely enchanting.

After a beat, Hobie began to hum along. He knew the tune. He wasn't sure how, but he did know it. A simple five or six notes, easy to remember, easy to memorize, easy to single along with.

And then he realized he was humming alone. The other voice had disappeared.

He furrowed his brows, confused as to where it could've gone.

A ripple passed by, just barely changing the surface of the dark, murky water below. He stumbled back slightly, immediately on defense mode as he peered over the edge, gaze hardening over the sight of a few bubbles, slowly rising to the surface.

"Hello?" He called out softly.

For a moment, he thought nothing would happen. That he'd just been imagining it. Hallucinating even, the little sleep he'd had finally getting to him.

But he watched as a pair of eyes appeared, the outline of luscious hair and a head parting the waters, peering up at him.

He stared, mouth opening in awe.

You were beautiful.

Your face was just barely illuminated by the moonlight, glistening down on the droplets dripping down your smooth skin, just your face and neck having protruded out of the water.

You cocked your head to the side slightly, as if curious, inspecting him as he put his hands on the railing separating him from the open waters. "Hello."

His breath hitched in his throat. "Who...are you?" He asked after a moment, struggling to find his voice.

You smiled, enjoying his reaction. Before you could respond you were interrupted by a loud blare. Another boat was approaching, one that looked similar to a police boat almost.

Hobie looked up too, caught off-guard, and his expression immediately hardened. When he noticed you about to submerge yourself in the water again, he quickly reached a hand out.

"Wait!"

You looked back up at him nervously, eyes flitting between him and the slowly approaching vessel. The silence was thick enough to be sliced, his soft breaths and the ripples of the water both louder than the sound of the boat that was coming closer.

Your eyes stayed on each others, hundreds of thousands of words being exchanged in a single moment. It was like he could read your mind, and you could read his. An odd, yet welcomed, connection.

"What are you?" He asked softly. You smiled once again, eyes crinkling up slightly. When you opened your mouth to speak, Hobie was blown away.

What you spoke wasn't English, but it was like he could understand every word, your voice like a tune, another lovely song, sung by a perfect voice. He exhaled softly when you finished, nodding furiously.

"I-uh-" he stuttered, realizing the boat was only getting closer, the officers' voices growing louder and louder. "Do you speak English?" he asked quickly, praying under his breath that your answer would be-

"Yes."

He grinned, cocking his head to the side slightly as he stared down at you. "I-"

The horn of the police boat sounded again and you snapped your head to the side, pretty eyes widening before you looked back at Hobie. He opened his mouth, hoping to delay you just a moment longer, calling out, "Wait-!"

But you were already gone, having disappeared under the surface without a trace, lost to the pitch black, shallow waters of the canal. He stared back at the slight ripples still emanating from where you'd left before running over to motor and roughly turning it on.

He had to escape, as quickly as possible. If he got caught now, he'd be out of a home, and he'd grown quite used to this little boat he loved so much.

But those lovely eyes were still stuck in his head. He chuckled to himself as he turned the tiller, steering himself in the opposite direction of the officers chasing him. He hummed those same four notes to himself, your gorgeous melody turning into a tune he didn't think he'd ever quite forget.

He hoped...no he knew that wouldn't be the last time he saw you. Hobie Brown was never one to let an opportunity slip past him, and this little encounter seemed to be much more than that. The way you'd looked at him, spoke to him, smiled at him-

Could it be fate? Hobie didn't believe in fate.

But this just felt so real. So real that he couldn't help but hope that it was fate.

That he was meant to see you again.

Because he would, whether it was written in the stars or not.

He'd find the girl with a voice of gold.

No matter how long it took.

The aquarium was abandoned as per Vox pulling strings. He didn't want the two of you to be surrounded by loud kids and randos on your date.

It was somewhat strange to be there with the lack of life in what would normally have been a bustling atmosphere, your voices echoing as the only sound next to the low cacophony of filters humming, however it certainly wasn't bad.

The two of you stood in front of one of the giant fish tanks bathing the room in blue light. Vox's clawed hand slightly trembled as he fought to seemingly contain himself from where your fingers were interlaced.

You had to fight to keep yourself from giggling all throughout the date to keep the peace. If you did, you would not hear the end of it from him.

He looked up at the hammerhead shark swimming behind the glass with a dorky happy grin on his face before he forced his expression to be neutral again as his blue pupils flickered to the side to look at you.

Your heart fluttered at how endearing the sight was. You only wish he'd just let himself properly have fun, really.

"What?" He asked, tone half-heartedly irritated. You realised that you'd probably been staring up at him with a lovesick expression as you watched him.

"Is it a crime that I want to look at you?" You raised a brow at him. "I thought that was your whole thing." You grinned as you watched him go a shade lighter.

Vox glared slightly at the blue light glasses on your face before looking away.

"Well, normally that would be because I can actually hypnotise them." He looked back at you as you leaned up on your tip toes, hands gently gripping either side of his monitor and turning his face down so he was looking you in the eye.

"You don't need any of that to hypnotise me, baby." You murmer softly and then snicker as you watch him glitch out slightly.

"That was-" He groans in frustration, closing his eyes with his brow furrowed that he's struck by it. "That was insanely cheesy. Do better next time."

You laughed as he cleared his throat, lightly grabbing your wrists to pull your hands from his face before turning away from you to continue walking through the aquarium exhibits, heels clicking loudly on the floor in the almost silent aquarium.

You shook your head with a smile, powering after him on your much shorter legs.

"You say that, but it still got yoooooou." You sang as you caught up with him, nudging him in the arm with your shoulder.

"It most assuredly did not." Vox smiled at the disbelieving 'mhmmm' you answered him with before wrapping his arm around your hip, pulling you closer to his side.

You hummed as you settled up against him, hands balling into his jacket.

You two wander through the halls of the aquarium, admiring the exhibits. Although it was mainly something you suggested because you knew he would love it, you were absolutely having fun.

It was funny watching Vox often trying to contain his excitement and failing as he infodumped on some of the sharks and other ocean life that you came across on your path.

He'd very quickly explain things before he realised he had said a lot and looked at you somewhat worriedly, afraid that you were annoyed by it before smiling somewhat awkwardly in relief when he saw you weren't.

It was the next exhibit that particularly caught your attention personally however, out of everything there - A giant display of brightly coloured fish highlighted by neon pink lights at two sides of the tank.

It had been extremely long since you'd seen colourful life in hell, so it enamoured you.

You unwrapped yourself from Vox and walked closer, eyes wide as you pressed a hand to the cold glass to look at them all swimming behind it.

The Video Star smiled as he watched you looking at all of them with wide eyes, slowly coming to stand next to you.

"They are extremely poisonous. Nothing brightly coloured and so 'pretty' in hell of all places is anything but dangerous." Vox states, hands in his pockets as he watches them dart around behind the glass as well.

You absentmindedly nodded, eyes quickly moving back and forth to keep up with different fish.

"You would of course know a lot about that though, now, wouldn't you?" Vox said quietly as he looked at you with clear adoration.

You looked to the side and up at him with an eyebrow raised, a sly smile on your lips. "Are you saying I'm dangerous?"

Vox laughed and moved to face you. "For me? Very." It wasn't exactly a joke at all even though he made it sound as much. The way he felt for you was something he was far from used to, and it did scare him in the beginning for sure.

The way the pink light of the exhibit mixed with his own to become purple as you properly turned to face him had his heart thudding in his chest as you wrapped your arms around his neck to pull him down to you.

"Comparing me to fish, how romantic." You jokingly teased with half-lidded eyes, revelling in the way his cheeks lit up even brighter.

"Not my fault that you make me tongue tied for more graceful compliments." He teased right back, leaning forward and closing the gap between you.

Vox's hands came to rest on your hips as you kissed his monitor softly with a sigh, your face burning slightly as you allowed the proximity and compliment to finally set in.

The aquarium faded to background noise as you two stood there just enjoying the moment, bathed in neon pink lighting.

Making out in an abandoned aquarium was far more romantic than you would have ever thought.

- He likes when you latch onto his front like a koala while hes just swimming around😭

- He pulls ur ankles and or bites you from underwater when you cant see him bc hes an annoying little shit

- Defo forces you to play chicken with sasha and connie

- Will pretend to drown to get more attention from u when you keep on talking to the others💀 its so silly tho bc the whole group just stares at him as he flails in the water like an idiot

- When you’ve dried off already he’ll come out the water and bear hug you to get u wet again

- He started swimming with his hair tied up but it ended up tangling when he got out and whines to you asking u to fix it and getting mad u didnt warn him it would tangle if he tied it how he did

- This isn’t original i forgot where i saw it tho but someone said he eats like how a little kid devours watermelon super quickly and intensely just wanting to get back into the water asap

- He’ll piss u off by slipping his hands into ur swimsuit while ur in the water and no ones looking then start saying it wasn’t him, it was the fish (spoiler there was no fish)

- He also picks you up even in the water to flip you backwards or throw you again at any chance he gets

- u guys go swimming at night aswell when no one else is there and have a cutest little skinny dip🙏😊 (tbaw ref maybe🫣 #FuckTeamJean)

- He finds it funny to pull down jean and connies swimming shorts while theyre swimming

- He just cant be trusted underwater bc he has no restraint when no one can see him coming💀

Not in my AU she's not! For 2 reasons-

For 1, my AU is built from Mario games and media I personally know/am familiar with. I know a little bit about Mario sunshine and saw a comic where Delfino island was Daisy's vacation island. So I took that info and crafted it into my AU lore! My Daisy's kingdom is populated by Delfino's, and it sits along the coast nearby the Mushroom Kingdom.

The other reason is I only heard of what Sarasaland was like two days ago. I've never played any of the games its from and had no idea it existed. So I didn't add it to my AU and I definitely cant add it now-

But even if I did, I'd have the same problem. Why is Daisy the ruler of these little.. dancing.. skeleton.. guys..?? If she isn't one of them?

I was thinking that she was having trouble putting on her make-up and ribbons.. maybe that was something the Koopalings mom would help her with before she.. well.. :( (Also, I do intend to finish/expand on that comic/idea very soon! :}} )

As for Iggy and Lemmy, they're not twins in my AU! Though they are close, they are very apart in age. I don't know what "older lore" you're talking about.. if you're referring to a game or a show, I have never seen it. :( All the Koopalings personalities and dynamics are just going to be made up/decided by me :)

As for their closeness, what brings them together is their eyes and their love for magic/Kamek.

I had this idea that Iggy was born blind, and Lemmy was born with a lazy eye/cross eyed. Kamek was able to use his magic to restore a fair bit of Iggy's sight and reposition Lemmy's eye. The result is their eyes and faces have unusual colors and patterns.. but they can see! And they are very thankful to Kamek for that.

Also that exposure to magic at such a young age has really drawn them into it.. they're both supposed to be really interested in magic and learning how to use it. Thus their closeness with each other and Kamek!

As for Luigi and the Poltergust, he doesn't ever get that. Since Mario is never captured by the Boos, why would he need it? And I haven't decided what to do with E.Gadd yet, if anything at all..

As for Mario and Bowser.. I was thinking that Mario kind'a just said that in the heat of the moment. But he would be willing to take him down permamntly if he ever showed his face again.. but right now Bowser is definitely not causing any more problems for a while.

Mario and Luigi scared the daylights outa him. The hero's of Legend are real, and they're here. Bowser is probably scrambling for means of defense atm and wouldn't dare send anyone over there to cause trouble.

As for the Chain Chomp.. even if Bowser wanted to release it and wreak havoc on the bros/the mushroom kingdom.. I don't think he could. Kamek was unable to control Petey Piranha and rein him back in when he escaped. What make's him think they'll have any control over the Chain Chomp if they release it? It'll probably just turn around and eat Bowser's castle instead- and once its out, how will they trap it again?

And oh yeah, they could beat it. All they'd need is 1 super star and the Chain Chomp would be flattened in a matter of seconds. ⭐💪
