Hocus Pocus (1993)

¡Oi! Spoilers, stavfel och alternativa fakta kan förekomma rakt föröver!

Ses tillsammans med @kulturdasset som förprepp till Hocus Pocus 2.

KONCEPT: Nyinflyttade Max har svårt att finna sig till rätta med sitt nya liv, och framför allt Halloween, i Salem. Han följer dock, under protest, med sin syster Dani på en ”bus eller godis”-tur i kvarteret. Snart har de hamnat i häxlegenderna Sandersons stuga där enl myten en oskuld skall väcka dem till liv…

FÖRVÄNTNINGAR: Mitt personliga Halloween-firande begränsas normalt till att se om den här filmen i slutet av oktober. I år toppas firandet med att se den nysläppta uppföljaren.

TOPP: Filmens absolut roligaste scen är när systrarna kliver ur ugnen och Winnie upprepar den inspelade rösten både på engelska och spanska.

FLOPP: Max och Danis föräldrar har en liten lustig inställning till föräldraskap egentligen. De vet att Max har svårt att finna sig till rätta och de kör på med: ”synd att du inte trivs, men du får sitta barnvakt åt din syster under Halloween så vi kan partaya i fred”. Hade de tänkt att den detaljen skulle hjälpa liksom?

KONSTATERANDE: En film som kanske floppade när det begav sig med byggt upp en stadig kultstatus med åren. Kanske för dess gedigna produktionsvärden och för att den verkligen tåls att ses om och om igen? Speciellt sedan Halloween som fenomen växt i status med åren och spridit sig utanför Usa? Den här har en perfekt mix av humor, äventyr och att växa med uppgiften – en familjefilm av klassiskt snitt innan de utvecklades till glorifierade barnfilmer.

PS: Den här filmen har antagligen begåvats med vad som måste vara 1993 års bästa cgi. Katten Binx håller för att synas i sömmarna fortfarande.

Well, "De Drieling", because I'm Dutch, but you know. They started airing in the Netherlands when I was 9 and my sister 6, so we had a couple of years where we were the prime age to know the fairy tales and stories they were invading well enough to understand the changes. I have very fond memories of it, good kid's show!
