#GOD FEARING CHRISTAN!?
John 4:44“For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country."
John 4:44“For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.”
A hand of rejection towards believers from non believers. Hello everyone, I do hope that you all are well from the intense heat that we have all suffered from in the past few days. Many people people have gotten sick from it that were not able to keep cool at home or where ever they were. So I hope all is well. The late Rev. Billy Grahams vintage video speaks of the cost of following…

"Hazbin hotel is a criticism of christanity"-
Hold that thought, I'm gonna destroy that in one sentence...
What does Alastor think of the fact that he is in christian hell?
Alastor uses constant voodoo imagery like the shadow powers and the symbols, and it's implied that voodoo gives him his power. And yet he is in christian hell and does not think anything of it.
Maybe I'm wrong and Voodooists believe in heaven and hell. Alastor certainly has opinions on hell. But if the writers cared about exploring religious themes, I wouldn't be left wondering because I would know what this characters religion believes about the afterlife, since that's the shows entire setting and religion is the entire theme of the worldbuilding.
Hunchback of Notre dame is a children's movie and it cares more about these concepts, having Esmeralda express that she doesn't know if god exists and fears that if he is, he may be a bigot, but also wonders if maybe god feels sympathy for her and her people, being the god of oppressed people. It's fascinating stuff and Hazbin in it's eight episodes doesn't even have that much to say about religion.
When lute talks calls angel "some crack whore" someone could have pointed out that Jesus in life spoke to prostitutes and addicts instead of writing them off as lost causes. and that her dismissal is hypocritical from an angel. Vizie makes heaven overly white but then never brings that to the logical conclusion of "Do these people realize that their prophets are middle eastern?"
God doesn't even get mentioned in this story, like no one seems to know or care about his existence, even in the telling of the creation myth.

Hazbin Hotel Rewrite, part 2: The Devil
Whoo boy, here we go.
(First: a heads up, I am going off of Christan angelology & some Christian beliefs (not because I'm Christian but because that's the one I decided to do, no other reason lol))
So as previously mentioned in my brief post about the Seven Deadly Sins (7DS), Children/Show Sins & The Devil/AntiChrist, there is infact a character known as The Devil/AntiChrist (yes the capital letters are needed).
So who is this guy?
The fallen angel, once beloved of God, ruler of Hell, the 7DS in full form.
Now onto the details:
First off, I'm not naming him Lucifer nor having him BE Lucifer specifically because I wanted a more unique idea to form the basis of the 7DS. His original, Heaven born name is lost to time, spoken no longer by any angel, seraphim, opony or demon ect nor by The Devil & God himself. It's lost, gone. So he was named The Devil by those who heard tales of temptation and forbidden desires. Later the name AntiChrist was spoken once the human incarnation of God was born.
The Devil is the 7DS combined, as stated. Thus created by the casting out of AntiChrist, shattered into pieces to limit the power he would have, this was done to keep The Devil from bringing down vengeance upon Heaven, for now. However, there is an answer to his problems as God was merciful, benevolent as believed by Heaven and the followers on Earth, the solstices, special days of the calendar that were implemented as times when the 7DS would come together, focused only on the goal of reforming into their correct form.
As stated in part 1; there is a surge of power. This rocks the foundations of Hell as The Devil begins to reform, however so far there have been nothing but unsuccessful attempts (more on that later (look for the ☆²)), so normally there will be a mighty howl of rage cast towards the Heavens and heard throughout Hell.
And since the demons/hell-born have little to no concept of the human world (Earth), they have not called them the solstices us mortals know. Once translated into common tounge, the days translate to: the day of Reformation/Retribution. (The name stands for both solstices (p.s: the name may change depending if I think of a better one).
Meanwhile in Heaven during the day of Retribution/Reformation, the foundations are merely gently rattled, nothing but a tremor is felt. Even so, some of the population await the swift wrath of the outcast with prayers on their lips and fear in their hearts.
Earth however feels practically nothing, perhaps if humans had more advanced technologies they would feel it, why? Because Earth shall become the battleground, after The Millennial Reign of Christ, once The Devil is set free before being cast into the lake of fire with his followers therefore, Earth shall not need worry until The Devil reforms and rises after The Millennial Reign of Christ.
Now onto the physical body of The Devil.
As he's an combination of all 7DS as one I picture white scars upon where they reconnect. His physique is one of towering stature with a muscled body, however there still lingers the angelic gracefullness he once possessed when he was a seraphim. Since he was once a seraphim, The Devil has 6 wings as they do. However unlike the seraphim, four of his wings do not cover his face & feet (a pair for each). Rather they are free and revealing those features, a further sign that The Devil is no longer a favoured of God. These wings are black (as depicted) and they shall carry him up from Hell to Heaven for his vengeance once he is fully reformed.
☆¹ Now onto his Reformation & why they fail. The combining of the 7DS. It happens every summer/winter solstice aka Reformation/Retribution day in Hell. The 7DS meet in Pride, traverse long pathways known only to them, winding to dark corners where the fire burns hotter. And they shall see the 'sky' a large shatter in Hell's 'sky' one secluded to the cavern, one that is reminiscent of Heaven. Here is where the former seraphim was cast down to the fire and brimstone.
All 7 would form a circle, drawing an old rune between them, one in the language of Heaven (more on languages in a different post, stay tuned). They then shall begin to chant in the language of Heaven, known only to them, Lilith & Charlie, calling on powers of old. Then of course the power surge hits as in the middle of the rune, The Devil begins to take shape.
☆² Once formed, if the Millennial Reign of Christ is not over, the scars will begin to gush golden ichor, he shall split at the seams. Become unravelled and pour out his life and soul, screaming in agony and rage. Until the 7DS reform as themselves, aching from the arduous endeavour to try and keep the true form. However, the reason the Reformation takes place every year (or pretty much every year), is because due to being sealed away until the Millennial Reign of Christ is over, the 7DS/The Devil have no outside information aside from the hellborn & sinners. Sure they can send messengers/influences above to Earth but that doesn't mean they know everything that goes on above.
Should the Millennial Reign of Christ be over then the scars shall fade to just white, no longer glowing and The Devil shall soar with all 6 wings through the shatter of the cavern, breaking the seal and setting himself free. Then shall come the battle.

I have a fear of religon, specifically Christanity. Like it is overwhelming at times and I sometimes wonder if there is something I can do to heal. I have had panic attacks from street preachers, when my family visits I hide during prayers, and I'm fairly certain if I were to go into a church I would simply evaporate. I named myself after someone who loved Jesus and was asked to betray him with a kiss in the gospel of Judus. I wasn't always like this, I was ok with religon. I would defend it during the edgy atheist era. Now I can't even walk by a church without someone being with me to hold my hand. I want to heal. I want to go back to when God ment love and acceptance. I cried once thinking about all of God's love and now I cry when I know a Christian's hate. Any advice would be appreciated from other queer people. Under no circumstances are people allowed to try and convert me. If anyone mentions there church I will never step foot in it.

"This is the life" and "Bring me to life"
"Life's what you make it" is too old for the #FearOfMu21c project, where we're crowdsourcing the greatest singles of the 21st century. Everything already Talk Talked about is in an index post.
This is the life - Amy MacDonald
"I saw Pete Doherty's first gig in Glasgow after he left Libertines. It was a great night - he did a little acoustic thing at the aftershow party too, and we got into that. Then me and my pals went back to someone's house and just sat, passing the guitar round, singing songs. It was a brilliant night. The next morning I wrote 'This Is The Life' about it, cause I realized, this is the life."
Tumblr media
Title track to the 2007 debut album, Amy MacDonald arrived as though she'd been around forever. Girl, guitar, and memories of going clubbing till the wee small hours and the fear of missing out. Number 1 in Austria, Belgium, Czechia, and Netherlands; number 28 on blighty, because .uk record buyers preferred the album. Amy's continued to write, and record, and tour.
youtube
Bring me to life - Evanescence
A goth-metal band with Christian roots, the public view was mostly of singer Amy Lee. And of her physical attributes, not her vocal abilities: on this single, Amy belts out the lyric, shifting from soprano to alto in a single phrase. There's a rap break in the middle, though a mix was released without the rap. And there's a concept video, featuring Amy in her nightie.
All of this meant the single would get a reception. The reason it stayed four weeks at number one? It's a bit different, and it's a massive lot of good. There's a tune, there's something in the lyric, it's danceable, it's not the chugging dance beat of every other record of this moment. This song's success wasn't divine intervention. And thereby hangs a tale...
Tumblr media
Evanescence got their start on the Christian Music scene. They were big beasts, playing songs of faith to the faithful. And then: bang! they slammed that door shut. And it's all the fault of the bigots in the Christian music scene.
You might think the British indie scene is harsh, that the NME would build up its heroes then knock them down, then kick them. Christian Music is like that, but harsher, because the critics pretend to know what The God Organisation is thinking. In reality, the critics fall into the trap of idolatory: they expect human beings to be infallible and perfect. Worse, they'll call flaws in other people before accepting the mote in their own eye.
Tumblr media
The Christian Music scene is narrow and often bigoted. It's a place where divorce ends careers, where anything that might stop white women from producing white babies is terrible. It's a place where the haters revel in their hatred, where the performers are not permitted to sin. It's cloying and confining. Frankly, Evanescence were best out of it.
None of this changed the parent album: Fallen explored faith and its absence. However much the band denied it, this was a religious album, drawing from Amy Lee and Ben Moody's upbringing. The band turned their back on Christan Music, but didn't repudiate their upbringing. The lyrics draw from Christian imagery, and a particular view of the world. Questions about the afterlife, a search for salvation, fretting that everything is meaningless. They may not be a Christian Music band, but their music is Christian.
Recently released: the 2002 demo version, which is similar to - but not the same as - the version we all heard the following summer.

Drunk and Tormented
Tumblr media
My torment’s in the past
But I can see it haunting my ass
Those demons in the closet
Those long nights seemed the longest
When my tragedy strikes my day
I feel the darkness surround me
Holy smoke, fire and brimstone
The holy father’s got me feeling fright
They say he’s love, say he’s benevolence
But next mine I fail to see his relevance
Dancing all night
Flying on mau huang
Looking for a good girl
Leaving the fear of violence
Tired of being silent
Tired of this BS night
Their hearts turned into spades
The gravediggaz suicide track fades
I have been missing signs from the universe
And losing myself in the metaverse
Married to the night
Before it hits twilight
You think this is a game
But I had to play the cards I was dealt
I didn’t care if I won or lost
I didn’t care about thr cost
I didn’t know that I was lost
I am down to my last White Claw
Looking at my kitty’s paw
Wondering why I can’t think straight
Wondering why my period is late
It’s not like I am having sex
But I do remember hearing this hex
I felt a slit on my fallopian tube
After a bus drove through my living room
I heard Jesus quietly say barren then felt doom
I don’t know why this happens
I am fully medicated
I don’t know why this happens
Have I even medicated
I wish there was a camera with a microphone inside my brain
I wish people knew what it felt like to go insane
One day I learned about slavery in the Bible
And renounced my Christanity
I remember Revelations in the Bible
And how people would fry over worshipping an idol
I don’t understand God
I find the Bible rather odd
It shocks me
It torments me
I start to wonder if it is okay to feel this way
It is okay to cry over what I have read
Or do I have to pretend not to feel
Just so that God will love me
I don’t know who to be
Other than myself
I never mean to do any harm
But sometimes I cry myself to sleep
And right now I am wondering if anyone else did weep
Over the history of Christianity
Did they imagine the pain and the fear that those young virgins felt
As they were stoned to death because they married a guy with a small penis
Or the virgind as they watched their families and village be slain for worshipping the wrong God
Sometimes I feel like I am odd
The only one who feels pained by what I have read in the Bible
I don’t mean to
But if I can cry over the victims of school shootings
Why can’t I cry over the victims in the Bible
Sometimes I don’t understand why I have to believe in God
I know he won’t like me because I am not like him
I don’t know how to disguise love as hate
I wish Christanity wasn’t my fate
But then other days I see the glimmers of compassion
Through the fog of it's fascist tyranny
And for a second I think
Maybe it's not all bad
Sometimes I get answers from angels on the other side
It sounds crazy I know
But it happens too much for it to only be coincidence
I remember this time I was in the hospital
And that bulemic lady fainted
But she stayed the same
So our friendship was tainted
I should really rest now
I feel overwhelmed
I'm just skitzing along
Hoping not everything is wrong

Be the light; pray and allow The Light to shine through you.
Blessed be The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in Heavenly places in Christ. The seven gifts of The Holy Spirit are: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of The Lord. While some Christans accept these as a definitive list of specific attributes, others understand them merely as examples of the Holy Spirit’s…

big text here, abt something that happened when i was outside;
tw christianity >:3 (dw its very funny no serious at all)
I can't believe i had the most surreal interaction, a good one, with a reasonable christan in years finally. (well the most open minded christian i could find around here)
He respected my non-christian believes but aaalmost bummed me out when he explained a resumed version of the genesis. almost.
besides the parts of the genesis i hate (the misoginy, the fear of god, god's will be absolute and ode at the ignorance part)
his interpretation of the serpent and eva interaction is so freaking good to ignore!! he believes that the act of the eating the apple is Eve fucking the serpent (the demon) that is so...neat to say at least. (smiles)
this caught my attention in the middle. And he explained that Cain is part demon and Abel is god part.
awawawawa that was very funny.
I'm glad he respects me at least.
anyway i can't take off my mind Eve fucking a snake.

The 57, Part 2:
11. Hyperopic: I’ve already written about this piece before in casual detail, and in relation to it’s inspiration in the Seraphim of old christian mysticism, the titling of this piece speaks more to the pressure of far sightedness, my generation especially can’t look too close at the world now or at themselves to learn for that future they are dying over before it’s even happened. All of us are so afraid of the future that we don’t know how to live in the present, we are daydreaming about extinction while we neglect our families and responsibilities, it’s no wonder people don’t want to commit to people or jobs or ideas anymore, we aren’t patience enough and attention spans are lessening as time goes on and consumerism becomes the dominant interest for all man, immediate gratification will not have visible consequences now, but those dreams of a future apocalypse will be the result of our current such blind infatuations with shortcuts and procrastination.
12. Lazarus: I made this piece as a contemplation on resurrection, what a horrid idea in reality, zombies, vampires and most other folkloric ghouls exist in this problematic, and yet I’m supposed to look to the dead rising out of god’s love as a blessing, who made it that coming back from the dead could be a benefit? Interfering in nature and imagining thusly the original visage won’t be corrupted and corroded due to it’s rise from mortification and sod is absurd. The bible doesn’t support necromancy and dark mysticism, but it does promote necrophilic ideas on preserving the visage of it’s martyrs and religious heroes, in turn it’s my opinion that most pessimists see christanity as a doomsday cult waiting for illusionary second coming as the emergence of zombies and angelic vampires rise to consume the living or to damn them to hellfire, sounds odd doesn’t it when you think about it metaphysically? But that’s just religion for you, resurrection in horror media has always been a way of proving the horrific potential of the uncanny, and the undead and once dead scare the shit out of most people, that’s why zombie and undead in general based films have been selling tickets since the 1920s.
13. Old: This image is about me playing with how I see the old as between dead and living, in the same way that when I come across a skull discovered in an archaeology dig when perusing the internet, I can’t help but imagine the life that skull had, the generation differences between me and them and how we would have shared DNA and cognitive ability, it’s often something that can fill you with existential dread when you think about it long enough, because that rule of thinking too exists in babies and foetuses. Reminding me thusly on Georges Bataille's comments in the beginning chapters of ‘Eroticism’ (1957), that we see our offspring as our discontinuity, though they are made from us, they are not us, and so they represent both the end of the line and the continuation of the human race overall, the only way we could exist as exact continuations of the first man is if if we bred through mitosis and asexual reproduction. I find such conversations on studying mortality to be utterly fascinating and by no means terrifying, it’s an aspect of life that horror loves exploring because a fear of death, aging and rebirth or the continuation of our legacies, is one of the fundamental reasons why people like Ernest Becker wrote his seminal work ‘The Denial of Death’ (1973) to discuss immortality projects and how death and entropy underpin all our values and choices in life. Truly a fascinating idea to anyone with enough time to look into it as one the fundamental conversations in existentialist theory.
14. Melt: This image is another take on the previous image ‘Pressure’ , this time it’s far more aggressive and resistant to the pressure, melting in the face of adversity though is still a pain and maybe more painful than accepting the initial succumbing to the pressure, it always reminds me of the idea that 95% of addicts relapse, meaning the real effort of sobriety in the face of adversity is staying sober and not always the value of the adversity in of itself. That’s how I best associate giving into pressure based on my own experiences I guess, but the same could be applied to any anxiety based illness, it’s how you consistently work against your instinct to quit and be overcome that makes you stronger as Nietzsche always said.
15. Smooch: This piece was a direct riff on Gustav Klimt’s “Kiss” (1907):
Tumblr media
Source: https://www.artsy.net/article/artsy-editorial-klimts-iconic-kiss-sparked-sexual-revolution-art
As someone who was obsessed with the work of Egon Schiele and by proxy studied works of Klimt (though I always enjoyed the visible anxiety and sexual explicitness of Schiele’s work more), and have come to see this painting as certainly one of the most memorable paintings that can exist in the zeitgeist, but it’s far too ideal for me and the reality of most intimate relationships. I only say this because the paranoia of contemporary love and erotica is centred around what is visible and what is hidden, what you share with the world and what is left for the voyeur to scrape off your sheets once the love has left the room. As someone who is lucky enough to be in love even after previous abuse I know the anxiety and pressure that comes with contemporary relationships, both platonic and erotic, from your parents, friends and all the pressures in between. It’s alot about struggling with expectation of how to act and how to feel when in a relationship and when you see yourself as one of two and not just an individual, it’s why people are so often afraid of affection and commitment, it can feel as if it’s not even your relationship and as if people are entitled to your love as a form of gossip and not as exhibit of actual intimate connections done well. I’m lucky enough not to be a relationship that cares about outside attention or gossip, but it’s just an observation of mine that soap operas ruined public relations of all kinds as people will always look for the next secret and entertaining snapshot of reality rather than allowing nature to occur uninterrupted, people just want the fantasy of love, passion and sex, without caring much for the humanity behind. This visible and present attitude among my generation especially, can turn into a peepshow waiting to watch the next set of animals fukk sure enough, it’s why porn was one of the first major industries to succeed on the internet when it was invented and still continues to thrive today, voyeurism has never been more in fashion with the accessibility of the internet.
16. Stench: This expressionistic portrait is how I’ve always imagined the prudish, the sensible and convention to look when discomforted by anything, as if they just smelt the most retched of smells and can’t wait to swallow their own spit just to drown their taste buds from its influence. It’s the typical reaction of most people to react when confronted by anything, as if their senses have been flown into overdrive and that can’t help but feel a full body reaction to each now infraction, given how provocative I’ve been in the past about certain ideas on politics, religion and the sciences I have seen these faces hundreds of time in my short life already, it’s worse than a fiery rebuttal as it shows my their brain can’t even entertain a more relaxed approach or sense of open mindedness to what has just said. It’s almost the same as nervous smiling or crying when you panic, just the body responding to the brain telling it to react without words and without proper logic, either to tense or release muscle function on command, I would say try testing this out anywhere but just mindful of who you test it out on seeing as people seem to not like it when you get them to react facially to inspire art pieces, just my own experience speaking there.
17. Gape: Another oral sexual comment coming through, don’t google gaping if you enjoy eating donuts, but the act of opening and inflaming muscles for sexual purposes is a common enough practice is experimental sexual practices, whether that be with poppers or kinds of tingling and numbing lubricates to ease muscle responses for penetration, the mouth is the only part of the body that is constantly prepared for this experimentation and is often fetishised for this very reason, with large lips on the mouth being to represent large labia downstairs as some psychoanalysis's would argue. Beyond the sexual, the anatomical suggestion of opening up and staring inside the body to study how it contracts and retracts is something I often draw about, the idea of expanding and exaggerated muscles that emphases the majesty of our real anatomy is quite interesting to me, it makes you think what larger animals and being beyond our understanding would be like with greater systems such as this, or without them entirely would function, especially given how complex we see our own bodies, just image existences even more complicated and dynamic then our own.
18. Slip: I see this piece as the idea of slipping in and out of our skin, as if our skin where a mask and a cover in more than a literal sense, something that we could remove, or grow and tether to more and more skin, it’s often strange to debate skin as the largest and most underrated organ on the body as it really does do a lot for us and yet I feel most take it for granted, I certainly do given mines covered in tattoos. But like any other organ, skin is an identity as well as a functioning part of a system of other organs that we need to survive, it’s an emblem of evolutions majesty and yet it’s also our blank canvas to create new identities beyond our natural form, in the way that we cover it, dress it and stretch to fit our needs and physiology, skin is not only crucial to our existence as animals, but a social tool of immense imaginative potential for us humans who wish to do so much with it while we are able to.
19. Yokai: This image is based on the Daitengu of japanese folklore, the title is more a blanket term for all creatures of japanese folklore altogether, but the visual motifs of this image are based primarily on the tengu as it’s again another very popular image found within japanese pop culture alongside onis and hannyas, I focused on the tengu though for its connection with hermitage in japanese culture, that of the mountain priest who lives in total isolation, as quoted by this Yokai wiki cite here:
“Daitengu are much larger and imposing than kotengu. They usually appear in a more human-like form; usually that of a man dressed in the robes of an ascetic monk, with a red face, an incredibly long and phallic nose (the longer the nose, the more powerful the tengu), and large, feathered wings sprouting from their backs. Only rarely do they appear in the more primitive avian form of the lesser tengu. Daitengu live solitary lives on remote mountaintops, far removed from humanity. Their time is spent in thought, meditation, and perfecting themselves. They possess greater pride, wisdom, and power than their lesser tengu cousins. They can also be just as savage and unpredictable, making them potentially much more dangerous. In fact, natural disasters and other great catastrophes are often attributed to the wrath of a powerful daitengu. However, they also possess more self-restraint, and some of them are occasionally willing to give aid to worthy humans.”
Source: https://yokai.fandom.com/wiki/Daitengu
This idea of wisdom as represented through a long nose and their common depiction as being white haired monks, always stuck with me and reminded me that japanese folklore exists because they had to have a reason for everything and had to make their folklore as logical as any other part of the world, it’s a common thread among humans to be make stories and iconography to discuss the noumena through fantastical deities and the stories that proceed them, I just like the Tengus the most because of how they represent the wise and powerful, the same way we do, big ears and noses, the inverse of clowns I guess. But If I was going to represent Deoffal in any kind of the way then I would most likely do that with some kind of Noh tengu mask to show the cultural fusion of my practice overall, and to represent my hermetic presence in the contemporary art scene.
20. Timid: This piece is all about looks being deceiving, the idea of the top visage and artifice to any argument, character study or concept, its a conversation most artists have to have with themselves about anything they find interesting enough “am I going deep enough? And am I looking beyond the surface level long enough to make smart inferences on my current subject?”. You can’t be timid in the face of curiosity, no matter how much you may fear the backlash of going too far or what you may find along the way as the revelations begin and continue to unfurl in front of you leaving your more enamoured than the last, it’s always been a negotiations of Lovecraft's work that voluntary and conscious curiosity into the uncanny and incomprehensible is what has the most potential to create truly mind bending nightmares and existential dread in the thalassophobic water’s of our imagination. Meaning that the face value of a subject is always the most pleasant, in the same way that the most friendly demeanour or attitude is always a good cover to the dark reality beyond the mask, all are capable of looking past it, but only a few can look deep enough to think critically beyond the recognised and assumed as based on our initial perceptions and education etc.

Epicureanism
Epicureanism is a system of philosophy founded around 307 BC based upon the teachings of the ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus. Epicureanism was originally a challenge to Platonism. Later its main opponent became Stoicism.
Epicureanism does not deny the existence of the gods; rather it denies their involvement in the world. According to Epicureanism, the gods do not interfere with human lives or the rest of the universe in any way[37] – thus, it shuns the idea that frightening weather events are divine retribution.[38] One of the fears the Epicurean ought to be freed from is fear relating to the actions of the gods.[39] The manner in which the Epicurean gods exist is still disputed. Some scholars say that Epicureanism believes that the gods exist outside the mind as material objects (the realist position), while others assert that the gods only exist in our minds as ideals (the idealist position).
Epicureanism made a revival in the 18th century as Deism. A belief a distant God that created the world but then let it run itself sometimes referred to as clockmaker theory of religion. Has led to modern "Christian" idea that heaven is a distant place from earth where spirits of good go after death. Different from true biblical Christanity about restoring and putting Earth right as a future home for the resurrected dead in the earthly Kingdom of God.

With all the craziness that’s happening around the world right now because of all this fear of the corona virus, I’d just like to send out a message to my brothers and sisters in Christ....
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”
- 2 Timothy 1:7
“There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.”
- Psalm 91:10-12
God is greater than all our fears! <3

Tossed by the wind
I am feeling super dazed and confused. What brings me solace is that there are many men in the bible who felt this way. The one story that brought me the most comfort was when Elijah became depressed after Jezebel sought his life. Elijah had already seen and heard about the glory, power and miracles that is Yahweh, yet he still feared. This fear was “I know God can protect me but what if I end up like the other murdered prophets?”. I thank God for including this story in the bible for in the midst of Elijah’s despair and confusion, God met him and gave him strength.
At first I used to think of my depression and doubt to be that of the israelites. The children that angered God. I used to beat myself up because I likened myself to them. I told myself to believe and not doubt. But when I didn’t get what I prayed for, I thought it was because of my wavering faith. This doctrine used to kill me inside. It crushed my spirit.
I think i’m having a change of heart now. I’m not an isrealite, I never was and I never will be. I am in a new covenant with Jesus Christ. The bible isn’t about me, it’s about Him. Everything began, is centered around, and ends with Jesus.
God already knows I am just a mere man. So I know longer feel guilty about my doubt. Thomas doubted, but Jesus still revealed himself so that his doubts can be quenched. When John the baptist already heard God and saw the dove descend on Jesus’ shoulder, in the jail cell his doubts and confusion overwhelmed him. But Jesus did not rebuke him, instead he reconfirmed that he was the messiah, the son of God.
Because of Jesus, we are no longer consumed by God’s wrath. Because of Jesus, I am no longer ashamed of my doubts, fears, confusion, or anything else the devil could use to knock my faith. Instead I just take it to the throne of the father, where I know an intercessor sits at his right hand pleading my case.
