High-maintenance. You weren’t high maintenance, right? 

It had been a throw-away comment from earlier in the week, something funny David had said. Though it stuck with you, making you question if you were high-maintenance or not. 

Was it high maintenance to ask your boyfriend to drive you to the gym? To ask him to get you a coffee? To ask his opinion on things? To ask him to help you with something?

You were going over it constantly in your head, so much so, that you’d decided to change. 

Him getting you coffee turned into you getting him coffee. Him helping you on cases turned into you practically ignoring him unless you were alone, or at home. Him giving his opinion on anything you’d usually ask him to give his opinion on, turned into never asking his opinion. Him driving you to the gym turned into you walking there and back alone. Maybe that one was a mistake…

You sat in the passenger seat of his car, the rain had ruined your hair, your active clothes sticking to your body, and his voice droning on in a lecture of why it wasn’t safe to walk home at 11pm alone. 

“I mean I seriously don’t understand baby, why can’t you just let me pick you up?-” he was worried. The kind of worry that made someone pissed off. 

“Why can’t I just let you pick me up, Derek?” You mocked. “I fucking wonder why.” 

“You wanna’ tell me something baby?” He cocked his head to the side, glancing at you quickly. 

“No,” you mumbled. 

“What is wrong with you this week? We’re barely spending any time together, you won’t let me drive you anywhere, you’re acting like I’m not there at work-”

“I’m trying Derek, alright. Give me a fucking break,” you huffed.

“What are you ‘trying’ to do?” He asked, genuine confusion coating his words. 

You just sighed and left the car as he parked it outside your shared apartment. You stood in the elevator, his jacket around your shoulders, feeling silly. Why had you let him pick you up? Oh yeah, three guys were following you. Probably the safer choice, though it didn’t make you feel any less childish. 

You’re so high maintenance, a voice in your head nagged and you slipped his jacket off and handed it to him. 

“Baby, can you just talk to me?” he asked, pulling the emergency stop button and turning to you. 

“About what?” You started the elevator again, wanting to ignore whatever issue he thought you two had. 

“Baby, if I did something-”

“You did nothing,” you reassured him with a sad chuckle.

“Then what’s wrong?” He asked, taking your hand in his. “Please talk to me.”

You looked down at his hand, a sad smile on your face. “It’s nothing.”

“Tell me anyway,” he chuckled, pressing a kiss to your cheek. 

“Do you think I’m high maintenance?” You asked, scared of his answer. 

He smiled down at you and sighed. “You’re a little high maintenance.”

“Oh…” you sighed. So Dave was right. Everything he’d said was right. Derek probably finds you so annoying. He probably hates you.

“But I like getting to do the maintenance. I like taking care of you,” he smirked, pressing a kiss to your cheek. “I’m glad you let me take care of you.”

“What?” You stared at him and he pressed a kiss to your lips. 

“I like maintaining you,” he repeated and a smile spread across your face. 

Who listens to Rossi anyway?

MILES MORALES who ended up hurting your feelings by accident. he didn't mean to yell his mood was still just a little sour from when you weren't here. you were just some kid who bothered him but he was just so used to you which was why. he knew what today was which is why you were way more excited to see him—hoping he'd at least wish a happy birthday to you, and he really was. he had a whole card in his backpack and a few de la rosa candies and he was god awful careful with them.

MILES MORALES who would wait outside the school grounds watching as your head was down, your feet kicking a rock then kicking it somewhere else getting ready to walk home. he'd take a deep breath, walking over to you stopping you by your backpack making sure you wouldn't trip, and handing you the card and candy. Like. I have fifteen years of trust issues when it comes to this stuff so I'm in no way saying anything to defend anything or stating a belief or even truly theorizing here but. Rewatching seasons 1-5 really has me feeling like that. Those comments from That Interview HAVE to be sarcasm/trolling, right? Right????

Because the level of out of touch you'd have to be to think anyone invested in this show actually cares that Nandor is (barely) Guillermo's boss, or to think that they're not in gross, mushy, big, forever, life-changing, unhinged, kill and die for each other love...truly is breathtaking to me. To the point I kind of want to refuse to believe it's possible for someone directly involved in the show to BE that out of touch?

Especially after all the heavy lifting done in seasons 2-4 to eliminate any perceived power imbalance between them? Showing that Guillermo is immune to hypnosis and can best Nandor in a fight. The lengths gone to in order to illustrate how important they are to each other, how well they know each other.

Nandor's arc for two whole seasons of the show LITERALLY being looking for love in all the wrong places while Guillermo stands faithfully by his side, giving him the comfort and companionship he's so desperately seeking the whole time. MARWA AND ALL THE KISSING AND CUDDLING OF GUILLERMO AT THEIR LITERAL WEDDING RECEPTION AFTER NANDOR WISHES FOR HER TO LIKE WHAT HE LIKES. Nandor's immediate and obvious jealousy when Guillermo introduces Freddie. Nandor's grief when he thinks Guillermo is dead. The way Nandor can't handle it when Guillermo leaves in general. Guillermo visiting the worst humiliation a vampire can experience upon Nandor and Nandor just...getting over it? Helping complete his transformation? Helping give him his humanity back when Guillermo realizes this isn't what he wants? Breaking one of the greatest vampire taboos in the process like it's nothing? The frankly stunning revelation that he's always known Guillermo wasn't ready, and that his holding off has always been FOR GUILLERMO?

And Guillermo's sadness whenever Nandor pushes him away. The first time we see him cry is because Nandor told him to take that other offer. Guillermo being willing to die to save Nandor (and Nandor actually almost dying to save Guillermo). Guillermo's obvious jealousy and protectiveness when it came to Nandor's thing with Gail. Guillermo rescuing Nandor from himself with the cult. Nandor being the first one he reveals his secret vampire killer heritage to. Nandor being the last one Guillermo tells about his turning, because he doesn't want to hurt him. Nandor's indifference at the end of season 4 being the thing that actually pushes Guillermo to go to Derek, despite every other setback and loss they've suffered that year. Guillermo literally saying the words with his mouth "I love Nandor the most."

Also just. The two of them LITERALLY being the embodiment of what the other one wants most AND being the one to pull the other back from their most self-destructive attempts to get it? I mean COME ONNNNNNN.

I know TV writers have a long and fucking stupid history of doing this shit. I do. I know it. But like...this show is already so fucking queer? And it's so in-your-face INTENTIONAL about Guillermo and Nandor's relationship? To the point it's almost been the A plot of an entire fucking season? Between my trust issues and my media literacy and my queer little heart's stupid insistence on hoping...I'm struggling, fam.

When Kate shows back up in town and comes to the burnt out Hale house and attacks Derek it literally makes my stomach turn. Like. This is his rapist, assaulting him in the place where she murdered his family, the place where he’s punishing himself by staying. Like. To me, it always reads as an act of psychological self harm to stay in the burnt out ruins of his home, the destruction of which he sees as his fault and it just. It ruins me.

It’s always interesting to me to see how quickly Derek accepts harm to himself as acceptable—he tells Stiles to cut his arm off, pushes him out of harms way, and over and over again we see him devaluing his own well being. As a therapist watching the show, it makes me ache for him, to see his trauma so deeply affecting his every decision, to see him being hurt over and over again because he thinks he deserves it. He throws himself on the sword every time to try and protect others, and it’s always at the cost of himself.

And then I think about Stiles and him losing his mom and how he’s got his dad but he doesn’t really—he shares him with all of Beacon County, and what a lonely heartbreaking existence that must be for him. I feel like he sees in Derek so many of the things he feels, and that sparks a deep interest in him, a sense of kinship that only grows as he learns more about Derek, and in turn, Derek senses in him a person that understands pain, loss, and loneliness and with whom he can be himself.

Idk idk, I just, there’s so much depth to these characters that is so rich and I wish we had gotten more time with Derek and Stiles one on one where they talked about these things they’ve experienced.

this is such a good analysis. you are absolutely correct. i've said it before but i'll say it again: derek hale is one of the most traumatized characters to be on television.

the scenes in the tell where kate is just tormenting derek are brutal once you know the whole story. kate is truly an evil, evil person.

in my meta on laura i discussed how in addition to everything kate is doing to derek she's also demeaning laura and refusing her personhood. she never uses laura's name, refers to her as a literal bitch dog and croons at derek how they desecrated her body. it is a deeply, deeply fucked scene when you peel back the layers.

kate and gerard argent are the two biggest villains of the show and so many issues are because of them. especially gerard. like, fuck that guy.

most of stiles and derek's relationship is in the subtext of the show but the threads are there and once you pull on them it unravels revealing a surprisingly deep relationship despite the audience not seeing it all playout on screen.

(a lot of the relationships on the show are like this tbh but it's there).

it amazes me to realize that stiles learns so much about derek and is the only one who actively seeks out to know and understand him. stiles wants derek to trust him and once that trust is earned derek would do just about anything for stiles. it's such a core aspect of their relationship.

their first real scene in the back of the cop car where stiles is all "I'm not afraid of you." is practically his thesis on derek the entire show. derek believes he is something to be feared not because he's a werewolf exactly but because people around him die. he thinks someone caring about him, loving him is a death sentence and he doesn't deserve it. stiles deconstructs all of it by sheer stubbornness.

in the finale of the show stiles -- on his own -- saves derek from an fbi raid where he was falsely accused of murder. it's the inverse of the beginning of their relationship where stiles was the one accusing him of murder.

and the writers never make stiles confront derek over anything, or use it against him. it does nothing but give stiles more pieces to the puzzle that is derek. he holds derek's secrets just like he holds his own.

i think if derek had been around in s5 stiles would've turned to him for support with the whole theo ordeal and derek would've backed him up which would've honestly been a nightmare scenario for scott for a lot of reasons.

(but theo would've had no choice but to go die of shame once derek called him the wish version of peter and shooed him away.)

You were angry, sad, and relieved all at the same time. As Morgan sat on the back of the ambulance, you stormed over to him, the rest of your team knowing that you were about to explode. No one made any attempt to stop you as you snatched off your FBI vest and threw it to the ground, never stopping your determined stride as you approached him.

"Are you fucking insane?" You shouted. You could see Derek close his eyes, his jaw clenching as he let out a sigh. "Did you have a fucking death wish or something?!" The EMT's stepped out of your way so that you could stand right in front of him. "Sweetheart, listen—" You cut him off. "No! You don't get to 'sweetheart listen' me! You almost got yourself killed? What were you thinking you self-sacrificial son of a bitch?" He took one of your hands in his, and even though you were stubborn, you allowed him to do so, the limb lying limp in his grip. "You gotta calm down little lady." He said sternly, looking up at you through his bushy eyebrows.

"Calm down? Derek you almost died!" You exclaimed, attempting to snatch your hand from his. He didn't let you, holding you close to him as a way to ground you. "Nuh uh, you don't get to walk away from me. Let's talk about this." The way he remained calm during this whole thing was infuriating, but it also made you want to relax at the same time. "I did what I did because it would save people. I risk my life every day I walk in to the BAU, and you do too." Your eyes began to burn with unshed tears, "But you cut it too close this time, Derek. If you died, what am I supposed to do?" Your voice broke, head falling forward in heartbreak and in shame.

"Hey, hey, mama," He guided you to sit next to him, wrapping an arm around your shoulder and pulling you into him, "Don't cry." You buried your face in his neck, your tears wetting the collar of his plain black shirt. "You're my life, Derek," You whispered, "I can't have you disappearing from it as soon as I let you in." He comfortingly rubbed your arm, resting his cheek on your head. "I know babygirl, and I'm sorry." Your body shook against him, letting the grief of his close encounter settle over you. "I should beat your ass." You muttered against his skin. He chuckled. "I damn near thought you were about too."

You leaned up so you could look at him.

"But I'm being serious, Derek Morgan. When I tell you to leave from somewhere, you better go." He caved. "Alright baby, but no promises." You laughed too. "Better than nothing."

I think this fic has been deleted off ao3 and I'm very sad. De-aged Derek. He and Stiles become a couple. Stiles ends up a human alpha of the entire pack. (TBH it's rather porny and there's voyeur/exhibition) and there's a lake house or beach house. Eventually Derek goes back to regular Derek.

Your entire body was tense as you looked at Derek standing in front of you, finding it hard to believe.

"I'm real-"

"No, you're not. Derek died last year. I don't know who the fuck you are, but this isn't funny. Leave us alone now."

Your gun laid on the table next to you, you quickly grabbed it, aiming it at Derek as he tensed.

"You have every right to be mad, but please just..."

He took a step closer to you as you cocked the gun, keeping strong.

It couldn't be real.

"No, that's not Derek," you could feel the tears rushing to your eyes as you looked away from the body, looking back at Scott.

"I found him like this. He's been dead for at least two weeks," you shook your head in disbelief, stumbling back slightly.

"I don't know what type of sick prank this is supposed to be-"

"It's not a fucking prank, (Y/N) just look," Stiles took your phone from you, dialing Derek's number.

You could hear the phone buzzing from the counter, feeling your heart dropping.

You couldn't believe it.

"Stiles-"

"I'm sorry." you looked at the tears in both of their eyes, shaking your head.

"No, h-he can't... we were..." you could feel the air leaving you as more and more tears rushed to your eyes, feeling your heart in your throat.

"I had to keep you safe, (Y/N). I didn't want it to be like this," you could feel slight tears in your eyes as your hands shook slightly, remembering the events of last year.

"Prove you're Derek," your voice shook slightly.

"I know that we've known each other forever. I was there for you when you ran away. Your birthday's May 5th, you always picked on the fact that you're 7 months older than me. I know you've always wanted a family but you were too scared because of how dangerous everything in our lives was. I remember all the songs on your CD, your mom gave them to you before she died and you never go anywhere without them. I know that we were supposed to get married 9 months ago, but... I wasn't here," your hands were shaking as you lowered your gun, exhaling shakily.

"You... you've been alive this whole time?" you whimpered.

He nodded softly, while you shook your head.

"You couldn't reach out to me, could you? You couldn't have sent me one fucking text or a fucking call to let me know you were alive and okay?" there was slight anger in your voice, you could see the pain in Derek's face.

"I couldn't tell anyone. I'm sorry-"

"You think you can just apologize for making me grieve you and think you were dead for a whole year?!" you exclaimed.

"Yes, because we love each other. I know I... I'm here now and I'm sorry," he said.

You scoffed, laughing bitterly before shaking your head.

"Of course, you think that we can go back to how everything was before like this past year didn't happen, right?"

"(Y/N)."

"You have no idea how this past year has been on me, on any of us. How could you put me through something like this? If you love me so much how could you do this to me?" your voice broke, tears rushing down your face.

You could feel the anger leaving you, sadness taking over.

"(Y/N), I'm sorry. Please just forgive me." Derek begged, putting his hands on your shoulders.

You pulled away, shaking your head.

"I think you should leave," you said.

"(Y/N), please don't-"

"I think you need to go," you repeated once more, as he sighed, before nodding.

"I'll be back tomorrow and every day after that. I'm sorry, I'll do whatever I need to in order to get your trust back," you stayed stiff as he spoke, your tears falling.

He stroked your cheek softly, giving you a small smile.

"Bye," you didn't reply, keeping still as he made his way out the door, looking back at you before walking away.

You wrapped your arms around yourself, letting out a quiet sob as you fell to your knees.

All the pain from the past year hit you once more, leaving you feeling worse than ever before.

"You didn't tell her what happened," Scott gave Derek a look as he sat in the car, while he exhaled slowly.

"She needs some time-"

"No, she's gonna feel even worse if you tell her everything that happened. You should've told her now," Stiles added in.

"No. Shut up and drive, Scott." Derek's eyes flashed blue, earning an eye roll from the two boys.

He looked away from them, staring out the window, listening in to your broken cries as they drove off.

Nothing could hurt him more than listening to your cries, not being able to hold you.

i really like dakota days by john green. that's probably embarrassing to be the first book I can think of that I like but there we go. I think I went in with very low expectations, so that probably helped and I've ruined that for you by saying it's good. it's about john with yoko, not all the beatles, and as with all john books, the author is very 'actually I knew John well, I really got him...' which is what all men do, but then instead of 'we shared this amazing connection! he TRULY LOVED ME!!' he's more 'he was just really fucked up and desperate to be loved' which is not what most men do, so I liked that. Also he storifies it all, which keeps you a bit detached from how heartbreakingly sad it all is if it's remotely true.

i loved the longest cocktail party by richard delillo. I thought it captured apple beautifully, and it's very much of it's time, which is also the beatles's time, so it's very much of the beatles even if they're not often there. it was written in 1970 and it does cover the total death of all happiness, but obviously only from a very close perspective, and he'd left by then and everyone disappeared, so instead of pretending to know things he doesn't, he just drifts into newspaper headlines and reports, and it works really well for a person like me who finds the endings very difficult

i think one of the very first beatles books I read was here, there, and everywhere, by geoff emerick and I have a lot of remembering it being good while now not really remembering it, but i do like books by people who were actually trying to work while the beatles were around, rather than trying to wank all over them, because there is a suitable level of frustration with them, which makes it all feel a bit more bearable. you do have to put up with how much he hates george, but we have to put up with a lot of things

as time goes by, by derek taylor, is very good if you don't mind that derek taylor is living his life in inverted commas and I'm only recommending you books about the terrible aching sadness of the end, sorry. I love the way it's written though, I love the way it's felt, I love how much he hates Paul in 1968... but then as he says, many of the people he likes most are absolutely terrible, and he means brian, but it's true of all of them and I just really like that he feels it

everyone recommends it I know it's not new, but michael braun wrote the beatles's progress and that is very good and earlier and brighter than a lot of what I've mentioned. and it's short! which I think is important in beatles books too, because it means people aren't trying to fill pages. apart from the cocktail party all of these are quite short.

actually that's probably my main advice when you're trying to decide to read beatles books:

pick short ones to start with

pick ones written by people who worked with/for them

pick your favourite era and start there

and you don't have to care whether it's 'trusted' or 'reliable' or whatever, care about whether you enjoy it, and then pick over the bones of the biases later

i have read some of the big full biographies, but they're kind of boring, trying to tell you everything when they don't actually know anything and they weren't there. tumblr's better for that. also they sort of pretend not to have an opinion, which is both a lie and a boredom, because opinions are the best thing. books by people who knew them DEFINITELY have opinions and you get to judge them.

I liked pete best's book more than I thought I would, I just read it the other week. I can't remember a lot about alistair taylor's book now, but I remember enjoying it, specially to get more sense of brian, and brian's autobiography is written by derek taylor so it snips along. either of george martin's books is nice and quick. chris salewicz wrote the best biography of paul mccartney and it fits in your pocket. cynthia and may are both good.

I didn't really know how to end it, so hopefully this was okay aha.

Description: Reader tells Aaron he loves him. (can be interpreted as gn!reader)

Warnings: angst? but not like descriptive I don't think, mentions of Haley, death but not heavily.

When you reached the hotel room, you both placed your bags on the desk. There was enough rooms for everyone on the team to have a room, only two people having to share. Naturally, everyone on the team immediately arguing that it should be you and Aaron should share.

You flung yourself onto the bed, Aaron doing the same with a little more grace. This case was exhausting to say the least, it had felt like one thing after another since you got off the jet.

"We don't get paid enough for this," Hotch huffed quietly.

You can't even remember the joke, but it had you wheezing.

"God I love you," You said with a laugh, shaking your head slightly. You both freeze.

Seeing him turn to you in the corner of your eye, you look at him. There was no way of describing the look on his face, other than pure sadness - anguish, almost.

"(Y/N), I-" He paused, frowning deeply. "I can't- It's too soon. Haley-"

"It's fine." Your reply is tight, as is your smile. "Really, it's okay, Aaron."

His first name slips out and sits in the air. You both laid in silence. You felt like you couldn't breathe. It wasn't exactly something that meant nothing to you, no. You had been crushing on this man for years. Literal years. You were there for him when Haley divorced him, when they went into witness protection, when Haley passed. You reassured him when he missed Jack's first steps, or a birthday. You were there for him the whole time. Because you loved him.

And you knew this wasn't his fault. You knew that. He was grieving, his childhood sweetheart had died. It was understandable, really, it was. But that didn't mean it didn't hurt you any less. Hearing it out loud? You felt like your heart was ripped out.

"I- I think I'm going to go crash with Morgan tonight-" You said, standing up quickly. You were up and out the door before Aaron could protest.

You knocked on his door, hoping he would open it immediately before Aaron could process what had happened and catch up to you.

"You okay man?" Morgan asked when you opened the door. You give him a nod, not saying anything - barely keeping it together. He sees right through you, but says nothing. Instead, he moves out of the way, letting you into the hotel room without any hesitation.

Apart from Aaron - Hotch. He was your best friend. "What's going on?" He asked, noting how your breathing is shaky as you sit on his bed. "Hey, talk to me," He's frowning now, the tips of his eyebrows tilting up in the way that only Derek Morgan can do.

"I told him I loved him." Your voice is quiet and Morgan nods, sitting next to you.

"What did he say?" The he in question, was obvious. Morgan would have been able to guess, even if you had not told him about the feelings you were developing for the Unit Chief.

"That he can't. Because of Haley."

"(Y/N)-"

"I told him it was fine. Because I understand, he's going through a lot, you know?" You cut him off, "But it feels like he's always coming up with an excuse without actually saying it, you know? And I know they're valid, I know. But like first it was 'I can't, I'm with Haley' then it was 'I can't I'm going for a divorce' and now- And I'm not even angry! I mean I am, but with me, not him! Because if he changes his mind, I don't- I'm worried I'm the one that will come up with an excuse. And it won't be an excuse about not wanting to cheat on my wife - because news flash, I'm so fucking single."

Morgan just stares, unsure of what to say. He made sure to just listen, that sometimes you needed to just get everything off your chest. "What do I even do now?" You asked quietly. "It's going to be so fucking awkward. All because my tongue slipped."

"It'll be okay," Morgan reassured gently, "It'll all be okay. It'll sort itself out, okay?"

neighbor au. this one doesn't have a title yet, and it's BARELY a wip with how much time i've had to work on it lately, but it's really kind of an au where one tiny thing is changed in canon and the butterfly effect of what happens because of it- namely derek divorces addison before he runs to seattle in season 1, so when addison shows up in seattle (with henry) in season 18 and moves into the house next to meredith's, they have no idea about the connection between them. slightly crack-y events ensue as well as some very fun, very sexy milf action because really. this is me we're talking about. (it's partially based on my therapist told me by xana if you wanna check that out!!)

Imagine a world where all of the TW characters were given time and space to unpack their trauma. Where we saw Scott and Derek actually get to bond over how Peter hurt them both, how Isaac and Stiles could relate to seeing a parent become someone they no longer recognized. Just. Imagine.

the fact derek hale was never allowed to talk about his trauma will forever make sad, frustrated and angry. he is probably one of the most traumatized characters to grace television but he's not allowed to acknowledge any of it.

the other day, on the teen wolf sub reddit (believe i know. it's a sickness that i keep going back) i talked about how it bothered me how it is peter and jennifer that get to talk about paige. in visionary, peter is telling a story. paige isn't really a person to him and we know there is no way what peter tells stiles and cora is the whole truth. for her part, jennifer has mythologized paige's death and almost sanctified derek for committing the virgin sacrifice that allowed the nemeton to have enough power to save her when kali left her for dead. it's partly why she's so obsessed with him. in a twisted way derek saved her so paige is just a means to an end.

meanwhile derek doesn't even get to so much as say her name or confirm the real story when he was the one who had a relationship with paige. he is the one who knew her as a person, loved her and mourned her. .

someone in response to my saying that was like yeah well derek's not just gonna talk about his trauma. he's not that kind of guy.

and i'm like why not? characters suffering is not the only interesting way to tell a story.

if derek's story was to eventually evolve than that could've been part of it. opening up and healing.

imagine how powerful it would've been if derek was able to reach out to scott in the wake of allison's death and be able to tell scott about paige, that he understood all to well what scott was going through. imagine how much character growth that would've been for the both of them. derek finally able to reach out to someone emotionally and for scott to reach back finally able to set aside his issues with derek to see him as a person.

the missed opportunity that was cora hale. we could've learned about talia and laura and pre-fire peter via a couple of conversations between her and derek. there wasn't even a proper reunion between the two. (the fact most of our information about talia hale comes from gerard fucking argent still pisses me off).

malia was also a missed opportunity. derek had what? maybe one real scene with her? malia's character development should've been related to her reconnecting with her father, readjusting to being human and her figuring out what it means to be a hale by blood and what that legacy meant to her. not putting her immediately into a romantic relationship with stiles. derek could've factored into that. specifically regarding loss and guilt.

like derek finding out he had a cousin and malia finding out that just because she doesn't really care for peter doesn't mean there aren't other hales she can possibly have a relationship with.

isaac and stiles being bitchy to each other is fun but it's jealousy based due to scott. i think they could've overcome this eventually. imagine them hating theo together???? beautiful.

scott and isaac. i love them. adore them. but i will forever be pressed about that scene where scott throws isaac into a wall. like, fuck off. it was weirdly out of character for scott. instead of all the stuff about allison they could've talked about their dads. scott weirdly doesn't talk much about rafael and that bothers me because rafael mccall needed to be read for fucking filth (i am a child of an alcoholic so this may be a me thing). like we saw how much stiles hated rafael mccall. it would've been interesting for isaac (who was living with scott and melissa) to in turn be protective of him.

we had a whole episode of kira having a life changing field trip with derek and i wanted more that okay. that was a dynamic we needed more of.

i maintain lydia and derek's relationship would've been like two reality show judges. two beautiful people dealing with a world of plebs. lydia martin making derek hale have a spa day was a missed opportunity.

jordan parrish and derek hale being the personification of "someone is going to die." "of fun!" meme from parks and recs.

derek hale (and everyone else on this show) should've been allowed to unpack some of their trauma suitcases.

the fans wanted found family and the show took us by the hand and said "no. xoxoxoxo"

Love Like Hellebores

"Go!" he snarled, lashing a clawed hand out at the air, letting his eyes flare as the coyote slammed itself forward. “Go to Scott or Derek or whoever, I don't care. Just leave.” His fangs dropped, slurring his words together, and he knew the full beta shift had bubbled up beneath his skin and boiled over when he felt his ears get caught in his hair. “Scram, kid. Get the fuck out of here."

The weird dualism of the animals scared most people, and Alec's wolf was no exception, despite the weeks spent together. He stalked forward, letting the two animals in him bleed out, forcing the kid back towards the door. 

Alec’s eyes were wide and fear wild as he stared up at him. The shake of the kid’s hands almost broke him. The wolf hated this plan, pushing out their pack, but he had to. He was just…done, but Alec, he needed someone, he needed something else to rely on, something that wasn’t a broken, mangled fuck-up of a science experiment. 

"Wha… Where is this coming from?" he asked, voice trembling as much as his hands.

"Does it matter? I'm telling you to leave!" Theo stepped forward again, shoulders up and back, looking every bit the beast he felt like as he stared down the young wolf.

But the aggression didn’t cow the kid like he expected. Rather, the confused scrunch of his face settled into something stronger, stiffer, and he stretched up taller. "Yeah, it does, because you're not making sense."

"I never do," he huffed, deliberately parroting what the kid had said earlier that night. 

"That's different. That's about your weird food choi-” Alec cut himself off, a snarl taking over his face, eyes flaring along with it. “Don't deflect, asshole! Tell me what the hell is going on."

And there it was, the reason he liked the kid. He was so similar to the only other person Theo had ever let himself care about. That temper, that need to know and protect, to be good and do good just because. Fuck. He rubbed at his scar before realizing his hand had moved at all. A harsh snarl, directed at himself more than anything, filled the suddenly too quiet apartment.

His eyes, no longer flared, found Alec's. His chest clenched at the tears rimming his eyes, the tears and pain he put there. Again, he was trying to do the right thing, and it was just hurting the people around him, the only thing he was ever really good at, honestly.

"Just go, Alec," he sighed, anger shriveling up, his tone implying a please he never wanted it to. "Go. Find one of the others. I'm sure they're all dying,” the sad acidity creeping back into his voice for that one word, “to get hold of their newest puppy.”

Blast From the Past: So, uh. I skipped this at first. Because I did not like it. This is the last song of these I've listened to because I am/was putting it off. But here we go i guess. Okay, it's not that bad. It kind of reminds me of Will Wood. But it also makes me realise that the musical Zombie Prom isn't the same as the Wizards of Waverly Place Episode, it seems to be about a single zombie who goes to prom. Which I guess makes sense. I'm keeping it, but it's like. That's all I got from it mostly.

Stupid With Love: So I technically added it, because the reprise was on it, I think it's a little silly to have on here, because I don't think Cady is much like Richie, but I think I'm keeping it for purely after (s)he meets Aron. Like, I've literally put that quote where Cady is essentially fantasising about him in tags about Richie and Max; feels wrong to not include it.

Stupid With Love Reprise: So, listening to it makes me nervous because I haven't actually watched all o Mean Girls the Musical, but it's fine. We're gonna do it anyway. Oh, wait, there's a BMC animatic of this, I've seen this, I'm stupid. Okay. I see why the og put it on here. It is very cute, I love it. I don't know enough about factorials to know if that's actually what you're supposed to do with them, and if it's not then it's hilarious. If it is, then it's like... well, I guess PJ did a good job tutoring Max.

Be Nice To Me: I like this song generally speaking, I never thought of it for Max and Richie, but I'm kind of into it. Like, I might do song fics with some of the songs from this playlist, and this is definitely a high high contender.

Two Birds: Thanks og, you mother fucker. I'm sad now. Luckily, I've already thought of them during this song so I can just skip it.... unluckily, it's already started playing and I can't turn it off now. Thems the rules.

Sex with a Ghost: I don't know why this is on there. It's obviously more of a Jagertity song, but I'm still going to listen to it with their context to see if I can figure it out. Okay, listening. I don't get it. I'll probably keep it because it fucking slaps, but i do not understand why it's on a michie playlist. The only thing I could see is like. 'The only time I ever see her is when she's behind me in the mirror," Because Richie dies in the locker room. But I dunno.

Daft Pretty Boys: I've never heard this song before, so. Right off the bat though, I'm dissapointed that it's not gay. The title makes it sound so gay, but immediately with the she/her pronouns. Maybe I should pull up the Genius Analysis so I can understand better, because I'm just confused. Okay, after checking Genius, I think I understand. I will be keeping it.

Beachboy: Another song I've listened to before, I'm excited to listen to it under Michie context. Like, I could type the lyrics along if I wanted to, I love this song. Yes, this is amazing. Aside from the fact that it's, again, straight, it's absolutely great.

Bloom: We begin the ones where I'm going to have to look up the english translations to these songs. Which I'm fine with, I've listened to all the BSD character songs. It's actually pretty fun to follow along, which is why I'm linking english translations through te name titles, which is why some of the have underlines and others don't. Anyway. HEY SORRY TO BUT IN! APPARENTLY THIS WAS IN SCOTT PILGRIM TAKES OFF! I LOVE SCOTT PILGRIM! ANYWAY BACK TO IT! Okay, upon reading the lyrics, I will say, it makes perfect sense that it was written for Scott Pilgrim, also that I rememer hearing it and taking note of what it was called because I liked it. Basically, on a surface level, it's like 'id like you no matter how many times you change your hair' but I think beneath that, as an overthinker, it's about loving someone even as they're going through changes in their life.

Necromantic: As much as it hurts to face the reality, I am glad that there are some songs on here that represent a realistic relationship for them, and this is definitely one of them. I think I would do a poor job on describing it, just look up the lyrics, you'll see.

Sihouette: Okay, reading the lyrics was a little harder bc I'm listening at home, and my family just got back home from Astronomy Club, so just bare with me. I think it's good, I think we'll be keeping it; I like it I think.

Kuchizuke Diamond: Oh I immediately love the vibes of this. I like this song so much for them that I didn't follow along with the lyrics, I read ahead; I love this. It's so cute for them.

Kawaikute gomen: I'm back and forth whether this applies to them, but it's funny enough that I don't even care. Like Stupid With Love and such. I definitely feel it for them, I just can't explain why.

Zenzenzense: This reminds me of Sonic. Not a bad thing, just a thing. I definitely love this song. It's "Now that we've finally met at galaxies' end, i don't know how to hold your hand so that I don't break it" that got me.
