Pillows

Ok so it has been well over a year since I've written anything or been involved with the Lucky Batch so please leave me some writing tips<3

"I swear to Maker, if you skip one more briefing, I will feed you to Loth Wolfs." hissed Raffle as he dragged Skip by his ear down the hallway of the Republic base the Lucksters were currently stationed at. "Kriffing hell Raffle! Let go of my ear! You're gonna- ow oW OW" "You wouldn't be getting dragged by your ear if you just went to a briefing, you di'kuit." Ignoring his vods protests, Raffle finally made it to the briefing room, where he shoved Skip into the room ahead of him, finding the amused faces of his brothers, who had seen Raffle storm off less than three minutes ago. Jackal and Foxy snorted when the very offended trooper slunk off to the corner to sulk, Kenhla quickly regaining the squad's attention. "Oh, a newcomer, welcome!" she joked and was met with a stuck-out tongue.

Once the batch had retreated to their barracks, still amused by the small scene from earlier, Skip asked, "If you're gonna drag me to meetings can it be by a different part of my body next time?" Jackal had snuck up behind Skip and pulled his little bun. "That work?". Raffle, who Pepper was scolding, smiled. "That's a great idea Jackal thank you." "All I do is shoot down D-1s. I don't get why I have to go to those meetings." Skip muttered, knowing full well why he was supposed to be there. "Maybe in case Jackal has another one of those 'emergency landings' again." piped Ryder on top of his perch on Goose. Now it was the pilot's turn to be offended. "Would you rather be a giant fireball in the sky?" "I'd rather stay on the same ship for more than a month." Jackal gasped, pretending to be overdramatic. "How dare you!". "I gotta agree with Ryder" Cypher cut in, who had his back turned, looking at his data pad. "Cypher turn around." The trooper did and was promptly met with a pillow to the face from Jackal. Foxy, who had been silently laughing at the situation, burst into laughter from the confused look on Cypher's face. Snapping out of his confusion, Cipher grabbed the pillow just thrown at him and the one on his bunk. Foxy bolted off the bunk he was sitting on to find cover. Jackal barely dodged a pillow by diving behind Goose, only for Ryder to tumble on top of him with the pillow. "Pillow fight!" yelled Skip as he ran up and whacked Raffle behind the head. The entire squad scattered throughout the barracks; before long, pillow stuffing flew through the air. Eventually, all the pillows were in less than optimal throwing condition, and someone (Thumbs swears it was Rane) pulled the mattress off a bunk and chucked it into the fray.

The following morning Kenhla, accompanied by her Padawan's Luna and Brisk, arrive at their squads' barracks only to find them utterly destroyed. The remains of pillows were scattered around the room in the form of wads of fuzz and scraps of cloth. Mattresses were pulled off the bunks and spread around the room, with the clones fast asleep. The trio stood still for a minute, wondering what must have happened for the space to be in this state. Finally, Luna was the one to break the silence. "Master, why the hell weren't we invited?".

Hmm. Honestly all 5 of my ocs are like a box set, and not even in the IDW continuity but:

Name: Skysmasher.

Alt: Bomber Jet (I don't draw well but she looks a lot like bomber megatron)

Personality: Cold, Logical, Cynical, (clinically depressed) apathetic, arrogant (imagine her as this, snooty high class kid, basically). Gets grumpy when people make fun of her name.

Story: She's a decepticon commander, though she was constructed almost at the end of the war (which the cons won in this verse. You ever read Eugenesis? Its like the setting at the beginning). Her life started off in chaotic violence, which she was very good at, and when she was declared a war hero at the end, she had to quickly get used to equally violent politics. She's done a dozen horrible things to keep her place in this world. There's an itch in her heart that she's trying not to scratch, out of fear of what will come out. She's used to dealing with monsters; if the war had lasted one more day, she might have become one.

She has two friends who she keeps trying to get a promotion, but Moonshine is a secret Starscream lovechild clone who lives off drinks other cons buy him, and Steelfinger is an incredibly autistic brawler who leans into the 'dumb brute' act because that's easier than trying to get any understanding here. So good luck.

She gets better tho! Becomes a much nicer person, gets the shit kicked out of her by Tarn, and lives to fall for not one but two autobots.

How she'd react to Drillburst: There's gonna be some awkwardness because how do deal with poor people. Or civilians. If she saw him fight well, then she'd probably really respect his cool mercenary moves. The mercenary thing, she probably understands all about fighting just being something you do, just as a job. As for everything with Overlord... depending on how much she knows, in order, Admiration (at his perceived toughness), pity/commiseration, horror/resignation.

Oh, and Steelfinger and Foxlock both sing well, so she'd probably think that's cool as heck too.

Oooh!

Drillburst would probably be turned off. Post war, he’s still trying to overcome his biases about well-seasoned Autobots and Decepticon warriors, so it would take a while for them to start bonding, especially since Skysmasher seems to embody a lot of what he dislikes about Decepticon elite (apathetic, arrogant, snooty).

For her to have known his mercenary prowess, she would’ve had to see him while the war was still going on; and if they did see each other then, then maybe they’d be a little familiar to each other after the war… However, if they did, maybe Sky would looked at drill more favorably than he would at her :’D

The only thing i could see him respecting about her off the bat is her remorse for those she’s killed, which he gets (and if she learned about his plight in G9 and expressed sympathy, he’d thank her although be unsure how genuine she is). If she starts expressing signs of, well, not-apathy and self-interest, maybe there’s a chance they could bond… but for right now, Sky has a hard time with civilians and Drill has a hard time with arrogant warriors (overlord did not help in that regard LOL).

He’d probably get along with her friends more easily, but it depends!

In season 5, Lucius is working with Alfred/Bruce, working with Ed, and having scenes with Barbara in the course of 10 episodes. I’m very excited!!! Last season he barely had any storylines in the span of 22 episodes and now it seems that he is getting a lot of good stuff this season!!! I’m so proud of him. Please give him the screen time and storylines he deserves.

Yes, he is dimensional but due light absorption, appears flat.

The Clones and Rejection

I’ve seen a lot of dating related headcanons for clones, but never one on rejection and I have some ideas

Disclaimer: all our boys would be lovely and understanding, but I think there’s more to it as well

Rex: Rex would take it with his head held high, but slightly lower than normal. He’d give you a polite smile and nod, and wish you well

Fives: Fives would be shocked. He’s the peoples man, everyone loves him! He’s in shock to process it for a second, before he says an “oh…okay,” and smiles before turning and walking away, still slightly confused

Echo: Echo would put on a strong show. Like Rex, his head would be held high but you notice how his shoulders sag. He gives you a small smile and a quiet “I understand” and walks away. He can’t help but scour his mind to see if he can remember doing anything wrong

Hardcase: Hardcase, lovely Hardcase. He thinks you’re joking at first, so he laughs along. But then he realizes you were being honest. He stops laughing then, saying an “oh,” before a frown sets. He looks up at you and instantly covers the frown with a small smile. “Hey, it’s okay. I’ll be fine” he says, before striking up a joke to make light of the situation. He’s in a little funk for a day or so, but he’s soon back to his normal self

Jesse: Jesse is a determined person. He’s an ARC, so he has some pride as well. When you reject him, that pride deflates. He offers you a half smile and a small wave goodbye. Hardcase’s jokes don’t hit the same for a few days, and he dives into training, but soon enough he’s back to normal

Kix: Kix is precise. He needs to be, with being a medic. He examines the situation thoroughly. When you reject him, he can’t help but analyze it. He takes it well, asking politely if you could still remain friends, and smiling when you agree

Dogma: Dogma sticks to regulation. So this is something he never would have thought he’d do. So when you reject him, he’s more hurt than others. He’d risked this, and went out of his comfort zone. He leaves, saying a sad “oh, okay” and goes to process it. He realizes that this was a possibility, and he can’t hold it against you

Tup: Tup is cheerful and sweet. He even gets you a small gift, and shyly gives it to you. When you reject him, he’s hurt but tries not to let it show. He insists that he still wants you to have the gift, because even if you’re just friends, you deserve appreciation

Wolffe: Wolffe is tough, but when the person he likes rejects him, he doesn’t feel like he’s tough. He’s his usual self, gruff and quiet, which he never is around you. He pushes you away and builds walls to not get hurt

Fox: Fox is more upset than he’ll ever show. He loves you, so he’ll nod and say “I hope we can still be friends” and of course, you can. He still jokes with you, but he’s more reserved. He isn’t quite the same but it’s because deep down he’s wanting more, but he knows he’ll never have it

Cody: Cody isn’t phased by much. So of course, rejection doesn’t get him. At first. It doesn’t get him until he’s in his bunk, thinking about the day and then it’s right there. You rejected him. You don’t feel the same. He lets himself mourn for a bit, understanding that it’s healthy, but he moves on. He knows it’s for the best

Hunter: Hunter is a family man, and he loves the possibility of a family with you. Of course, he has to date you first. When you reject him, he can’t fight the hurt that makes it’s way to his expression. He tries to collect himself, and nods at you. Words don’t come, but a soft smile does

Tech: Tech would do the calculations on rejection, but even if they’re low, he still takes the risk. And he’d prepare the best reaction to all possible responses. But when you actually reject him, he freezes. He’d been confident, despite the odds. After a few moments of silence, he tries to compose himself. He nods, awkwardly says a “thank you for your consideration” and walks away

Wrecker: Wrecker is a big softy. And not a lot seems to phase him. So when you reject him, he takes it fully but immediately processes that he has to be smart about this. He has to accept it, and he does. He’s sad, yes, but he decides to do what he loves. He hugs you. He wants you to know he’s not mad, maybe a little upset, but never mad. He tells you that he’s glad you were honest, and that you were nice about it. He doesn’t get hung up, and he’s happy you’re still friends

Crosshair: Crosshair is not an emotional type. He holds things in, but he’s open with you. When you reject him, it hurts more than he shows. He sets himself and acts as if it’s nothing. He nods, and says he’ll see you later. He shoots out his hurt, and he turns reserved towards you. He doesn’t want to, but it’s what he has to do to make sure he doesn’t get more hurt

this is a day late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

now, prepare for some extreme sappiness...

i joined tumblr almost a year ago to the day and i can genuinely say that it was one of the best decisions of my life. when i first made this account, i was feeling super disconnected from the world and was desperate for a space where i could be myself and connect with those who shared similar interests. over the past year, this platform has acted as that space, allowing me to post my writing and explore my passions; however, what has impacted me the most is the friends i've made along the way.

you all inspire me every day. you pour your heart and soul into everything you do, whether that’s writing, drawing, gif-making, cosplaying, or simply posting, and you do it not to gain money or mass recognition, but because you simply love doing it. every interaction with y'all, whether that be a silly ask game or picrew chain, a sweet comment or reblog, brings a massive smile to my face. i never thought i’d be able to form such a strong connection to people i’ve only communicated with through a screen, but i’ve really found a home here, as cheesy as that sounds, and i can’t thank you enough (though i'm still gonna try).

so, without further ado, here are some 'thank yous' i need to give out:

@cosmicghostie, by now you are well aware of how sappy i am, so it should come as no surprise when i say that you bring so much light to my life. we’ve been friends for almost half a year now, and i’m grateful for every minute. you are constantly making me laugh, whether you’re sending me late-night tiktoks, doing one of your impressions, simping over fictional characters, or recounting one of your harrowing encounters with kangaroos. i hope you know how special you are. This is for @foxlock who asked for a prequel to this awkward kiss!! Our fav captain is falling HARD for the sweet demolition expert.

It wasn't like Rex to not be sturdy. He knew a lot about a lot- hell, experience outranks everything and he had a lot of experience. But the way the new demolition expert was, simply how they were-

Perhaps it was how her eyes shone every time she entered the field of battle. Every challenge she seamlessly vaulted, and her tongue would poke out of the side of her lips as she worked. Or maybe it was when her brow would furrow in thought and those hands remained steady with all the explosions and war. Or it was the way her mouth moved- wait, was something stuck in her teeth? Or her jaw was stuck?

"Captain. I need that comm."

Oh. She was talking.

"Sorry." Rex fumbled with the commlink in his hands, handing it to her. "I was zoned out." It was fortunate they were in the middle of a war zone, because he had his helmet on and she couldn't see his eyes scraping over her features, memorizing every part and attempting to memorize it.

She chuckled, and it rose in Rex's chest- he had been hit full force with the sound, wind knocked out and all. "What was on your mind?" Her eyes glistened and he was envious of the machine at her attention, her full and harsh and unforgivingly stunning gaze. "What happens in that brain of yours?"

All he could spare was a shrug. "Ya know-"

A shot rang, too close for Rex's comfort. He peered over the shrapnel they were ducking under. "Clankers," He hissed.

The demolitionist's eyes snapped to him. "Can you keep them away?"

He nodded and grabbed his pistols, leaning back on the shard of metal. "Keep your head on, hon."

She snickered softly, shaking her head as there was a spark from the demolition device. "Hon?"

"Yeah." Rex grinned under his helmet, ducking out from behind cover. "What else can I call you?"

"My name."

"A mouth full."

She laughed aloud, and the tinkering sound rocked Rex's still-sputtering heart. Oh, a while platoon of droids were manageable. But when she looked at him or laughed or breathed- that was too much for him. "I will accept hon, if I can call you darling-"

There was a beep and she flew backwards, back arching as she hit the floor. Her body seized up, shocked rivuleting through her body. A jerked moan left her body, and she flattened.

The captain raced out, grasping her. "Hey! Hey, hon." Rex patted her face, glancing up as a shot whizzed by his head. Rex fired back, the tan corpse of a droid collapsing with a metallic wheeze, and he hauled her up over his shoulder. "Hang on, hon. Let's get you back to base." Rex retreated, backwards, one hand holding her steady over his shoulder and shooting with his free hand.

She was still breathing on his shoulder. He had absolutely given thought to carrying her, but not to a medic. "Hang on, love," Rex huffed, turning and huffing as he sprinted. "I'll getcha there."

He would get her there- his duty was to the republic, but his heart was, he feared, fully and irrevocably hers.
