Seeing as your boyfriend, Floyd, was nowhere to be seen. Sitting in the mostro lounge while waiting for Floyd to be on break was a normal occurrence.

Since it had been awhile with slight glimpses of him taking care of customers, you decided to start studying on your own. Opening up a text book and starting to read and take notes, Jade comes over with your order.

"Apologies for my brother taking so long. The customers he has are being seriously rude, we're trying our best to have him not squish them." Jade says as he places your tea on the table in front of you.

"How long will he be?" You ask as you take a small sip of your tea. Jade rests his chin on his hand as he closes his eyes, seemingly in thought.

"Soon." He simply says as he walks away.

Although odd, you've gotten used to Jades strange behavior. As you were about to return to studying, you spotted Floyd waiting on the table across from you. He shoots you a smile before turning back to his customers.

You took that as a sign to go back to studying. Flipping open your text book, you begin to take notes again. As you get further into the book, your eyelids begin to feel heavy. Resting your head on your hand, you start to close your eyes for longer periods once blinking.

As you began to drift off to a light sleep, you felt yourself yawning as you began to shift in your chair.

Having finally settled in a comfortable position, you begin to get lulled into a peaceful sleep by the surround sound of calming music in the lounge.

Drifting off, you get woken up by a sudden loud noise. "Boo!" It was Floyd, creeping up behind you just to scare you awake. Playfully punching his chest as you complain about how you just fell asleep, he takes your hand, leading you off somewhere.

"Floyd, where are you taking me?" You say between giggles. "Somewhere, it'll be fun, I promise." He says as he gives you a wink.

He leads you to the VIP room, which usually isn't occupied by anyone, like now. Just the two of you. He turns around to lock the door, he turns back to you, eyes widened with an unpleasant look on his face.

"That thing you did out there, I cant believe you did it infront of other men. Do you understand what they may think now? Think im not your boyfriend? Think I dont treat you well enough?" Confusion. All you felt in the moment was pure confusion.

"Floyd, what the fuck are you talking about? I was just studying, nothing happened." You could tell he was getting frustrated. "That thing! Where you opened your mouth wide!"

"You mean yawning? The.... thing people do.... when they're tired?"

"You can't do that around merfolk." Oh. Oh? This seems like something you can tease him on.

"Oh? And whys that, Mr eel boy?" You say as you chuckle. Somehow, floyd got even more pissed at this, he slammed both your arms above you and against the wall behind you, eyes still wide, and very much angry.

"You don't understand what you're doing. You're making a mating invite by doing that, what if the other merfolk saw? Or worse, what if Jade saw?"

"Floyd im sorry okay, I didn't mean to, seriously-" you were cut off by him smashing his lips onto yours, you fed into it, not resisting in the slightest.

He began to sink his head down to your neck, making soft bites on it and licking up the semi bloody aftermath. "If you want to act like a slut, then I'll fuck you like one." He says before digging his open hend into the flesh of your thigh and biting down on your collar bone.

You choke out a groan at the sudden pain as floyd slowly kisses the bite, making it feel more pleasurable than anything.

Once hes done, he looks up at you. "You're okay with this, right?"

"Yeah, just don't do anything stupid." You're able to say between puffs of hot air. Giving you a smile, he hooks his finger under the strap of your panties, taking his other hand off your wrists. As he turns to walk away, you grab onto his sleeve to get his attention. He leans in close to hear you over the bustling crowd. "Floyd, I didn't get to fini-" he places his index finger over your mouth.

"Now, now, I didn't forget my dear, I promise. If you're good today then I'll double it tonight, hm?" And with that, he walks off and returns to his job where jade and azul kept yelling at him for bailing.

As you sit in silence while occasionally looking over at Floyd, he makes eye contact with you while being yelled at. Going back to you table, you realize something, your tea has gone cold.

Oh dear, whoever will you call over to replace it?

Viva: he’d think she’s cool!! he’d wanna make music with her cuz he’d like her voice. they probably wouldn’t interact too often tho!

Poppy: flux would grow to love poppy but initially be unsettled by how nice she is. He’s not used to people just genuinely being nice so he’d be like. Is she real. She’s so sweet. Wtf. She would be the one to convince him to try and see his parents again who he hasn’t seen in 15 years.

Wait this is actually such a unique and good idea. I’ll try my best to write this but since I never watched Princess and The Frog i will try to make it the best I could.

As soon as you walked out of your coffin at Night Raven College your brother, Sam immediately made you the co owner of his shop, often running around and helping him secure deals. Your unique magic, fate of the shadows often helped you. The magic allowed you to summon shadow figures, or spirits to help you around, or to simply have a chat with. However a shadow named Dr. Facilier kept coming to chat with you. After learning more about him you decided to summon him. With out letting anyone know. Let’s just say your unique magic consumes… a lot of… blot. 

RIDDLE ROSEHEARTS

When Riddle saw you in your full overblot glory his first response once to collar you.

He probably shouted “OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!” And it worked… until a shadow figure  flung it off of you, and proceeded to attack him. 

Although you had the magic, the shadows were attacking him as you attempted to summon Dr. Facilier. 

However right before you did, someone or just him managed to deal the final hit before you passed out. 

After you recovered he would lecture you, but not to harshly and would try his best to comfort you. 

Once you get better he’d probably throw a unbirthday party and ask Trey to make your favorite foods. 

LEONA KINGSCHOLAR

Leona noticed a change of your behavior, you started to distance yourself and mumbled stuff when you swore no one heard you. 

However midway through one of his many naps Ruggie came in and started shaking him yelling off about you, spirits and blot. However his mind quickly put it together as he went up and immediately went to find you. 

Once he does find you, he saw other students trying to stop you, however a lot of shadow figures kept attacking them probably most likely to your UM he thought. 

He snuck past them however and found you, summoning something. And that is when he decided to strike. 

Whatever happens next you could be able to choose but after the aftermath, he just forces you to sleep with him. 

AZUL ASHENGROTTO 

Azul was wondering were you were, you usually came by the Lounge this time to help him with orders or deals. 

So he was most certainly suprised to see you summoning someone… (is this what really goes on above the sea is what he prob thought lmao.)

He then got Jade and Floyd to come with him and go beat you up. 

So after defeating you, he forced you to make a contract with him so you would NEVER summon anyone again. 

Let’s just say he kept that contract extra extra safe and barely ever saw it…

KALIM AL ASIM

I feel like he was planning a party or whatever until Jamil comes bursting in to let him know what happened. 

After that, he would run to go find you, with Jamil behind him with a even bigger frown then what he usually wears. 

So after saving you he would literally start crying and kept on repeating, never do that again!!!!

However, after you did eventually feel better, expect a party!!

I feel like for the rest of the month he would stay around you way more. (If it’s even possible.)

IDIA SHROUD

So it would be almost impossible to go overblot due to Ortho, but let’s just say Ortho wasn’t even aware. 

However, when Idia was busy gaming or doing whatever he does, Ortho suddenly burst in telling him about what was going on. 

He and Ortho quickly came, (much to Idias dismay.) and shot you down and after that, took you too Ifias room. 

After Ortho did whatever he needed to heal you, he decided to go make technology or something to help with your recovery and to also help you with your powers to not summon evil people. 

After you overblotted it was probably more like Ortho taking care of you but it was fine! Idia was probably making stuff to help you with your magic. 

MALLEUS DRACONIA

Malleus knows that your busy, but not that busy to skip your daily night walks….

So when he eventually comes to your dorm and dint see you there he knew something was wrong. So he teleported to you and found you… doing magic?

However with your shift from appearance he knew something was wrong and immediately was asking… until he realized what happened. 

After he dealt with you (much to Sebeks dismay) he took you to Diasomnia and (locked) took you to a healing tower to help heal you. 

Anyways I feel like he uses the experience to learn more about humans. 

So overall he would make sure you would promise him toAbsolutely never do that again + he used his powers to give you a faster recovery. Although he’d probably be more protective

Also the world you once loved is slowly being worked on, hopefully it would be out near the 20th!!

Ok off I go infodumping, yes, once again Mayhem related, they're forever in my brain and I cannot get them out

Ok so to start off I wanna give a bit of my interpretation of the order they all joined the band in(silly headcanon)

The obvious is Teeth and Floyd were first, but I think maybe like one night while they were in a crummy motel or staying at a rented place for a bit is when Animal was dropped off with Floyd. Next I think Janice joined, like I've said on my rp blog, she was a waitress and watched them play a small show and immediately felt like she had to join. So she quit her job and did so. Then Zoot, again going off the rp blog, he was found on the side of a diner trying to get a bit of money. Lastly, of course, Lips joined. I like to think still he was introduced via the Muppet show. At first he was just supposed to be one of the guys in the orchestra, but the band liked him(I plan on writing a fic about him officially joining) and asked him to join.

My next topic would probably be moreso what I plan to do with Floyd's parents in my writing of season 2.(Serious headcanon)

I was originally going to be a bit more extreme with this, but given some of my other plans, I'd rather save that for a possible season 3 if I get there. I still wanna introduce his family though. A lot of it is projecting my issues onto him, of course my family issues aren't nearly as bad as the ones I gave him, but y'know, there's some projection within this.(Note; the projection is the favouritism my parents show, nothing else really)

Floyd's parents are overly militaristic. Made him enlist, was the reason he stayed for so long, y'know. But he never cared for it. He knew his destiny was music all along, that's why after he was fed up with it, he got himself discharged. Afterwards he cut mostly all contact except for with his sister. I imagine his sister is a tech kid and was the only one to show interest in military, hence her being much more The Favourite Child. The only reason he ever did still contact her was she never bullied and belittled him as bad as their parents did. He was fully pushed to cut contact with his sister the night he got Animal. He knew if he told her, his parents would get involved and possibly take Animal from him, and he wanted nothing to do with that.

3rd topic time! I wanna discuss Zoot's weird powers. I know it could just be Regular Muppet Bullshit but shut up I wanna talk about it in depth.(Silly Headcanon)

So I mostly have boiled it down to around 3 options. Godhood, Alien, or learned magic as a kid. The 3rd option is prob the least likely imo, I already have full backstory planned for Zoot, it wouldn't fit much. Although the other 2 seem a whole lot cooler. Alien would be interesting because that'd be two camera using blue muppets played by the same guy who just so happen to be aliens of some sort. I also like the thought of godhood. Imagine a god who had their memory completely wiped and got sent to earth. He knows nothing and just learns how to play sax and joins a band after much struggle to get accustomed to living in the mortal world.(By struggle I absolutely will discuss that in the backstory)(Prob not today but you'll get it in mayhem season 2) It would probably be the best option to explain some of this stuff, like I imagine him accidentally gifting his shoe with life and just going along with it. Would the other gods ever come to get him? Maybe but they think he's doing fine down there.

I was so annoyed that this was the choice for the series second episode. The Lawless Punk Wasteland of New York was a major subject of media fascination, to be sure. To go from Catherine's violent crime to a broader examination of violent crime overall seems like a natural direction to take the series. So why does this feel so bad?

I think it's the way the episode's inciting crime is portrayed - Young Kids Bullying Elderly Folks Because They Have No Morals - feels weird given 2020's sensibilities. it's hard to imagine young folks acting this badly without some justification or provocation. (This is definitely a relic of the 1980s where Inner City Urban Decay was as palpable as Terrorism or Fentanyl Crisis is today). Still, it feels uncomfortable to then see that the vigilante's solution to the hoodlums is to slit them up with claws seems excessive. I get that retributive violence was a common vibe for media of the 80s, but I feel that kicking the crap out of these kids would be sufficient - no need to murder them, except to start the episode with High Stakes.

Jace is such a disappointing character, because ethically he seems like the kind of character in the post George Floyd world we'd celebrate - a black man with a focus on community building, physical fitness, and a desire to help the people around him be able to deal with the problems in their community without having to turn to cumbersome institutions. But Catherine - a monied young woman who went from corporate lawyering to working for the District Attourney to "make a difference" - embodies more faith in the intitution of law and policing than a 2024 audience is willing to grant.

Especially when said attourney is a wealthy white woman at odds with a working class black man!

But Catherine's role as an investigator District Attorney still makes her entrenched in a system unwilling and unable to address the issues safely and effectively. It's quite disgusting here - the black man is using tough-on-crime rhetoric to argue copaganda points about how 'the laws are too lax' while also arguing that murderous vigilantism is the preferred response. Catherine's 'the system works' rhetoric feels very liberal - trust in the Powers That Be, even though we've seen them clearly fail her in the previous episode.

The nihilism of the 'color of our hats' almost seems palatable by comparison - at least there's an admission that the reality is broken, and those with a vested interest in their "team's" well-being will respond well towards their respective community. It's ugly but honest, which is more than Catherine's mealy-mouthed faith in a system that' obviously not working.

It's a cynicism which is at odds with the show's romantic aspirations, however. Vincent's world underground is free of these kinds of evil, and the already strong hints of a close-knit communitarian society in the tunnels would be at odds with such a cynical take. It seems there is a possibility for healthy communites with good information networks to get the word out about malefactors quickly - alas, they are a fantasy underground never-never land world! Definitely nothing the wicked bad surface world could hope to know abut or understand.

This show had won me over me in the pilot, with it's obvious sympathies towards the victims of violence. The suggestion that the Tunnel world was a place free of these evils due to a loving community was intriguing, and Catherine's brush with it forces her to reconsider her life, and use the healing she found there to propel her into helping others in her world. But already pivoting to such a loaded (and racialized) plot, with such aggressively falsely dichitomous take on the solution to the problem of violent crime... I really wish George r.r Martin chose some other plot for ep2!

There was very clear reasoning behind the assault on Mrs. Dalby: She's a poor Black woman, and the people who attacked her were racist white people and looking to cause problems and knew they could get away with assaulting a poor Black woman because no one would bother protecting her.

I would not in any sense of the word describe them as 'young kids'. Just because they're white, and because Catherine refers to them as such, doesn't mean they're kids.

They're not bullying her for no reason, it's because they're racist and she's defenseless. She's on a run down filthy train by herself at night just trying to get home. They assault her and try to rob her because they know no one is going to protect her. The only other person who was in the train car already left, leaving her completely at their mercy.

That is absolutely not what is happening. He is talking about the systemic injustice that allows privileged people, like white men, to get away with violent crimes against minorities without any consequences, and how the law fails to actually protect the people who are the most vulnerable.

This episode is bad because it's hypocritical and racist. It's okay for Vincent to go around mauling people to protect Catherine, a white woman, but when a Black man does it to protect people who don't have the privilege of being absurdly rich with all the best lawyers and doctors money can buy, including Black women who are getting beaten on the ground and white girls who are about to become the victims of rape, and then suddenly it's bad.

Because it's a Black man using violence to protect the most vulnerable people in his community instead of Vincent, the lion man who only ever seem to protect Catherine, the rich white woman whose father is a powerful lawyer, who has no qualms about casually ripping a hundred dollar bill in half. Which she was casually just carrying around with her without apparently intending to buy anything.

It's a bad episode because it sets a blatant double standard that says using violence to defend people is only okay if you're doing it to protect rich white women.

“What do we have here?” The cocky pilot’s smirk could be heard from all the way across the bar as the two naval aviators made their way through, trailed by Payback and Fanboy. “If it ain’t Pheonix and Firecracker. And I thought we were special, Coyote, turns out the invite went to anyone.”

“Oh, don’t start with me, Bagman,” You warned, a playful smirk tugging at the corners of your lips.

“Hangman.” He corrected.

“Fellas, you’re looking at the only two naval aviators on active duty with confirmed air-to-air kills.” Phenoix bragged on her friends behalf, Hangman being collateral damage in her efforts.

“Don’t blow smoke up his ass, Pheonix, the other guy was in a muesum piece from the Korean war.”

“Cold war,” Coyote corrected you.

“Different wars, same century.” Payback retorted, while Fanboy added not this one. The group went around making introductions while you and Hangman kept locked eyes, wondering who would break first. Your attention was only pulled by the newest member no one seemed to know… or knew when he arrived.

“Oh, I-I’ve been here the whole time.” He supplied, and you thought he had a boyish charm about him.

“The mans a stealth pilot,” Hangman joked, eyeing you from his perch on the pool table.

“Weapons systems officer, actually.” 

“With no sense of humor.”

“Why don’t you make yourself useful and go grab me a round? Or have we forgotten you still have a debt to settle with me?” You asked, redirecting your attention to Hangman.

“Fiesty as always, Firecracker. Your usual coming right up,” he flashed you his signature smirk, passing you the pool cue before making his way to Penny at the bar.

“What do they call you?” You asked.

“Bob,” he answered, a small smile on his lips.

You couldn’t help but chuckle, “no, your callsign.”

“Uh… Bob.”

“Bob Floyd? You’re my new backseater? From Lemoore?” Phoenix asked, a little incredulously. 

“Looks like it,” he nodded, seemingly a little nervous to have the only two women in the group focusing all of their attention on him. 

“Nine ball, Bob. Rack ‘em.” You said, giving him a reassuring smile and passing him the cue before taking a step away from the table, intending to meet Hangman at the bar but getting distracted by a certain distinguished pilot seemingly wanting to make his presence unknown.

“Well well, isn’t this a surprise.” You tutted, standing next to Maverick and trying not to smirk at the look on his face.

“I’ve been spotted.”

“Sure as hell not doing a good job at hiding yourself,” you gestured at the packed bar of Naval officers. You stared at each other for a moment before laughing and he stood to hug you.

“You look well.” He commented, sitting back down.

“Would be better if a certain decorated pilot would clue me in as to what the hell we’re all doing back here?”

“And ruin the surprise? Can’t have that,” he smiled.

“Rooster know you’re here?”

“How’d you know Rooster got called in for this?” He shot back.

“Look around, Mav, we’re all the best of the best in active duty, I took a leap of faith.” 

“He doesn’t want to talk to me.” You hummed at his response.

“Well, godspeed, Mav. I assume I’ll be seeing you soon,” you tapped the bar and returned to your group, not wanting to draw anyones eyes and let it be known you have more connections in North Island than you’re letting on. 

“Bradshaw! Is that you?” Pheonix called out, shooting you a look as your gaze shifted behind Fanboy to none other than Bradley ‘Rooster’ Bradshaw walking into the Hard Deck. He sauntered over to the pool table, not even sparing you a glance. “This is how I find out you’re stateside?” 

“Yeah, thought I’d surprise you.” He answered, tucking his sunglasses into his shirt and finally looking your way as Pheonix lined up her shot, hitting him right in the abdomen as she did.

“Guess I surprised you back.”

“Good to see you,” he said, still doubled over before giving her a pat on the shoulder and moving to make the rounds. Hangman came back with drinks in hand, giving you yours and queuing a new song on the jukebox. 

“Bradshaw, as I live and breathe.” He made his way around the pool table, taking the pool cue from Bob who was just about to take his shot. 

“Hangman, you look… good.”

“Well, I am good, Rooster.” You rolled your eyes at the arrogance rolling off his body in waves. “I’m very good, in fact, I am too good to be true.”

“Give it a rest, Ken Doll.” You sighed, your personal callsign for the man circling around you earning a chuckle from the rest of the pilots. 

“So… anybody know what this special detachment is all about?” Payback asked from his seat by the window.

“No, a missions a mission, doesn’t confront me.” Hangman leaned down to line up his next shot as Rooster subtly shook his head, “what I wanna know, who’s gonna be team leader?” He stood looking around, “which one of you has what it takes to follow me?”

“Hangman, the only place you’ll lead anyone is an early grave.” Rooster retorted, earning some chatter from the group.

He flashed his megawatt smile, coming around the table to stand face-to-face with Bradley, “well, anyone who follows you is just gonna run out of fuel. But that’s just you, ain’t it, Rooster? You’re snug on that perch, waiting for just the right moment that never comes.” 

“Are you two being serious right now?” You asked, looking between them before Hangman broke away, saying something about loving this song.

“Well, he hasn’t changed.” Phoenix said, standing next to you and Rooster.

“Nope, sure hasn’t… but Firecracker knows all about that, doesn’t she?” 

“So… this is starting now, got it.” You sighed, taking a sip of your tequila soda. 

The pool game continued with more friendly fire as the group got acquainted, and your eyes trailed to the entrance as more pilots trickled in.

“What the hell kind of mission is this?” Fanboy asked.

“That’s not the question we should be asking,” Nat said leaning over the pool table, “everyone here is the best there is, who the hell are they gonna get to teach us?” You chose this moment to break away as the music cut out and made your way over to where Rooster was fiddling with the piano, everyone slowly following suit. Penny rang the bell again and your smirked to yourself, not watching as you knew Mav was getting hauled out of the bar and tossed into the sand. You watched as Rooster began singing, and soon everyone in the bar was too. Rooster always had that effect, he walks into a room and suddenly it’s his, and you couldn’t help but smile as all the other pilots danced and sang around you. If you didn’t know any better it was like you, Rooster and Pheonix were back in Top Gun for the first time, singing Great Balls of Fire and destressing after a long day on base. But, you did know better, and a lot had changed between now and then. 

“Not feeling the party spirit, Firecracker?” Hangman taunted, following you out onto the patio where you looked out at the ocean before you as he looked you up and down, “almost forgot what you looked like out of uniform,” he muttered, taking in your short sundress. “If I recall correctly, you always were the party.”

“You recall nothing, Hangman,” you sighed, finishing off your drink and shoving it into his hand, signaling you were ready for another. “What happened to ‘what happens on the mission, stays on the mission’?” You asked. 

“You left an impression, darlin’.” His smirk made you scoff.

“Stop it, that rugged southern charm might have worked when I was six drinks deep and you were there, but it’s not working now so direct your efforts to one of the girls in there that would love a night in the sack with a decorated pilot.” 

“See, but I was hoping for a night in the sack, as you so crudely put it, with another decorated pilot.” You had to give it to him, he was persistent. 

“You don’t give a rats ass about anyone’s accomplishments other than your own, so don’t pretend you’re suddenly interested now. I mean it, Hangman. Now, get me a refill.” You tapped the empty glass in his hand before rejoining the fray.

“What the hell was that about?” Phoenix asked lowly, pulling out a chair for you at the table everyone had moved to. 

“The past coming back to haunt me,” you replied, giving Hangman a fake smile as you all but snatched your drink from his hands.

“Where are your manners?” He teased and you rolled your eyes.

“Three years of my drinks on your tab, Bagman, You’ll get a thank you when the bet has reached it’s expiration.” 

“What bet did he lose?” Fanboy asked, suddenly intrigued. 

“Firecracker, don’t-” suddenly Hangman was no longer the macho tough guy he’d spent all night strutting around pretending to be, but a desperate man who’s only current goal was to keep you from spilling the beans.

“I’m so glad you asked, Fanboy. We were on the same mission a few years back, and-” suddenly Hangman was in your space, lips brushing your ear and you cocked your head slightly.

“Add on another year.”

“What was that?” You taunted, trying to keep the smirk off your face.

“Add another year, just for the love of god do not mention that evening.” You pondered as you sipped your drink, wanting him to squirm for a minute.

“Sorry boys, Bagman would rather me drink him out of house and home and a deals a deal.” You finally said, turning to shake on it. 

“Never thought I’d see the day when someone could make Hangman grovel.” Coyote joked from across the table.

“Well, she has her charms.” Rooster said, mostly under his breath, and if you hadn’t been sitting next to him you might not have even heard it. 

“Really, Bradley?” You whispered, turning to him. “Can you let it go?” 

He shrugged, “just thought you were better than that, turns out I was wrong.” You were silent as his words washed over you, looking up at him trying to understand when Rooster became someone you hardly recognized. You just nodded, finishing off your drink and standing up. 

“Good to see you, Rooster.” You waved your goodbyes to everyone else, shrugging your jacket on and stepping out into the cool night air. You pulled your phone out, firing a text to Penny that you’d be back for your car tomorrow and sighed as you started for the beach.

“Wait… Y/N wait,” part of you expected it to be Hangman running after you but were shocked to hear Bradley’s voice.

“What, Bradshaw? Have some more digs you wanna get in?” You asked, not even looking back as you strode out into the sand. 

“That’s fair.” He said, quickly catching up and falling into pace beside you, “I’m sorry.” 

“Are you? Because it’s been two years since we’ve spoken and everything you’ve said to me tonight has been a thinly veiled insult.”

“I wasn’t expecting to see you, I know I’ve been a bit of an ass lately and seeing you just threw me for a loop.”

“Great excuse, Bradshaw.” 

“Wow, really making me work for it…” he muttered, “also fair,” he added, seeing the look you shot him. 

“You disappeared, Bradley. I mean, we were best friends and you literally ghosted me, and then we all show up for this mission and you act like a dick because, what - because I slept with Hangman?” You stopped, turning to face him. “I’ve turned a blind eye to all the somewhat questionable girls you’ve taken home, so what gives?” 

“You’re not me, you don’t make shitty decisions about your personal life like that.”

“Jesus Christ, Rooster. It was a one night thing two years ago on a mission. I figured you’d know better than anyone shit happens when you’re on a mission and tensions are high. I wouldn’t have told you if it meant you were going to stop talking to me.” 

“I didn’t… it wasn’t my intention to, I got called to a mission and then so much time had passed it… it felt weird.”

“You’re full of great excuses tonight.” You resumed walking. 

“What do you know about this mission?” He asked, changing the subject.

“As much as you,” you replied simply. 

“Come on, I saw you at the bar with him, and you’re…”

“You’re gonna keep that to yourself, right? I already have too much of a connection with Mav that I know is going to get out at some point or another. I’d really rather not have to explain that I’m the famous Iceman’s daughter.”

“You know I would never, I know how much you want your career separated from his.” 

“You’ve gotta forgive him, Roos.” You said after a few moments of silence, slipping back into old patterns. “He’s going to be our instructor.”

“No, I don’t. He set me back four years,” his expression was steely and you stopped, tugging his hand as you sank down into the sand. 

“Yeah and Ice pulled my papers too. Look where we ended up, still two of the best pilots in the Navy.”

“I just don’t see it that way.”

“Because you’re not trying to. Plus… we got experiences they’ll never have. While they were all freshly eighteen signing their lives away, we got four years. Four whole years of doing whatever we wanted. Was it annoying that once we got in we had to work twice as hard? Sure, but I wouldn’t change it.” 

“You’re annoying,” he muttered.

“Only because deep down you know I’m right. You gotta let it go.”

“I really am sorry, I never meant for shit between us to get like that.” He said sincerely, finally turning to look at you.

“Yeah yeah, don’t get sappy on me now. Come on, your room is still as you left it.” You said standing.

“No, you don’t have to let me crash with you.”

I've been thinking of Muppets Mayhem as 'canon events' and an AU to my muppet x oc shenanigans here, but you bringing up the possibility of that relationship being "acting" for the show is so perfectly meta lol throughout so many of their films, the Muppets have acted in roles or were AU versions of themselves, so why couldn't this show be the same kind of deal? (except maybe with some nuggets of truth in there, like Animal being left on Floyd's doorstep or Teeth's backstory w/ his rents being facts.. I'm prob biased because I like those story elements a lot lol)

anyway, yeah back to your actual question xD Assuming that Penny's an actress and her and Teeth's relationship was made up to give the show more drama (man, that would explain why it all felt so rushed maybe? lmao), I'm sure Mari would think she was alright. Penny WAS just hired to do a role, so no need to get personal about it. And also, I mean. Even if Penny and Teeth /did/ have something in the past, Mari would be fine with her either way? She's not the kind of person to snub her partner's exes, she'd be totally cordial.

i swear to god i had a post about pink floyd's the wall but now i can't find it. i feel like i'm going crazy ( i probably am! ) but anyway. been listening to this album on repeat, it is such a genuine banger, the story slaps and there is something genuinely so disturbing about it all. esp the second half of each side, anything past young lust actually ?? kills me??? and then in the flesh & beyond are just insanely fucked. ‘one of my turns’ and ‘don't leave me now’ are some of my favorite tracks on this album; they're so disturbing in their own right ( one of my turns going into an almost playful, sarcastic insinuation of violence -- while don't leave me now explicitly states the violence pink would like to commit against his wife, specifically ) and there's just! so much emotion and tension teeming in these songs. i love the slow build up in one of my turns, pink just completely snapping as he destroys everything in sight, this song just. ugh. UGH! his soft, melancholic voice growing into something frenzied and screaming, voice literally breaking and wavering with how unhinged he is. that screamed “oh no!” gets me EVERY TIME. it's so good. all of the emotion you can get from the singing alone is just.... truly insane. “in the suitcase on the left you'll find my favorite axe!” is my favorite line in this song because it's soooo. UGH THAT IMPLIED VIOLENCE !! like yes he's talking about a guitar but the word ‘axe’ is still used because pink has these fantasies of committing horrific violence against people. as we see in the next song, which.... i truly do love so much, the heavy breathing in the background accompanied by the deep piano, pink's heartbroken and angry voice..

obviously the threats of violence get a lot more explicit here; talking about putting his wife through the shredder, literally says he wants to beat her to a pulp on a saturday night. it's so horrific. shifting all of his blame on to her, his shaken and screaming “oh, babe” ?!?? god it's just phenomenal. the story is so fucked and you get all of these different emotions, not only from the character but from the instrumentals, the lyrics, you as the listener ... so many different factors combining together to create such a heart wrenching story on literally all sides. then pink smashes the shit out of a tv and screams in rage <3 this man and his violence. then he's like alright im isolating! bye! and obvs who doesn't love comfortably numb? but i think hearing it in the context of this album adds an entirely new layer to it, bc he's like... so fucked he's getting shot with a drug to go perform this concert, then he imagines himself turning into a neo-nazi and killing people for the next three songs. btw when i saw brit floyd they reenacted the scene from comfortably numb where pink is sitting basically lifeless in the chair and the doctor injects him to snap him out of it. it was SOOOOO GOOD. i'm like yes brit floyd this is why you're the best pf cover band ever. anyway. will probs have more thoughts on this amazing album tomorrow esp once the adderall kicks in wooo. might even try my hand at writing this insane man? who knows the world is my oyster

I def don't think it was a "calm" conversation at all. 👀 I think Z is naturally zen, and I don't get the impression that she usually likes a lot of confrontation, but I think even she prob raised her voice or wrote in all caps lol on that occasion.... because I think Tom was HOT that day 😤, and I don't think he held back.

Smthg DEF went down, coz he started unfollowing ppl on her end, and she never paid him any attention on social media for months after that... even though he re-followed Darnell days later. 👀

So yeaaa..... smthg went down for sure. Cuz you don't act that way just because your ex unfollows your friends... esp not if you've already "moved on" and are dating someone new anyway. 😏 Why would you be upset? Unless..... 👀

And the way Z just seemed to slip into some type of depression during the beginning of the pandemic was also kind of weird to me. She was like off the grid for like over a month, and then her mom was posting all these stories about moms for mental health of their children and stuff..... 😔 I just feel like she was going thru a lot during that time from like Feb - July 2020 (ie. the NYC pap pics coming out and outing the rlshp with JE, the fallout with Tom, the covid-19 pandemic, being shut in during lockdown, not being able to use Euphoria as her therapy to distract her from her problems, JE leaving to go back to Australia, going through a quarter-life crisis and not knowing who she is without WORK, Tom dating Nadia - you know she had to know, the Jacdaya breakup, the death of George Floyd, the BLM marches, Trump and his craziness 🤪, etc). There was just SO MUCH going on!!! 😩😭 Ugh last year was depressing!

When she told Sam on the set of M&M that she "hasn't been doing too well....", I believe it! I could sense it too! So much stuff happened to her starting from 2019 onward. I think M&M really helped her to kind of let things out and slowly get out of her "funk". She seemed waaay happier after she won her Emmy imo. 😁 She seemed more back to normal from what I could see.

But Feb - July 2020 seemed particularly rough for her. I also remember her looking a bit "buzzed" right around that time back in Feb when she had gone from NYC with JE to then Australia again..... She just looked so weird around that time....and then there was that weird interview where she was looking out of it.

Maybe it's just my eyes lol but....

Chiiiiiiilllllle..... She was going through it! Who knows what he was giving her when they were together.... 🥴 👀

Anyway, whew! Thank goodness those days are OVER. Z looks much happier and more lucid these days lol. 😊

Yustine hops up, bobbing up and down. “I like hanging out with Rook n’ Jack the best! They’re so much fun! Especially when we fight!” They grin blindingly bright, practically beaming with excitement. “Of course, it’s not serious fighting. And they get to use magic, sometimes. But even then, it’s super fun! I’d say that the least fun... Is probs Riddle! He’s always talkin’ about rule-this and rule-that... I think he needs to lighten up!”

“But for the biggest meanie...” Their face scrunches up in concentration, mulling the question over in their head.

“Hm... I suppose that the easiest for me to deal with is Viper. He reminds me of the other Sisters.” She murmurs, considering her options. “But I would say that Kingscholar is more enjoyable to spend time with. His terms are fairly easy to get a grasp of--Same with Rosehearts, to some extent. One plays by power, the other plays by rules. Simple, isn’t it?” And it did help that the former seemed to respect her just for being a woman. “I’m tired of complicated games. Fear is inefficient, but that’s fine for now.”

“As for who I dislike.... Well. I cannot say I dislike any of them in particular?” She tilts her head. “Just as I do not specifically prefer one over the other. If I had to choose, I would say that I dislike how Hunt looks at me. Leech Junior as well... He would make a good Mama, don’t you agree?” Yulia laughs gently, as if they were discussing the weather. Perhaps they were. “Thank you for the concern, but I have plenty of experience dealing with similar circumstances.”

“After all, those kinds of people... Aren’t they really just annoying?”

A long silence.

“Sebek,” Yuel says decisively, “Like... Dude, if you’re gonna snatch me and tie me up, at least take the picture of Malleus off your wall... My feelings are gonna be hurt.”
