It makes me uncomfortable how much some people in this fandom shit on KR. Like I understand being frustrated with a show runner but I see in the buddie tag people calling her a dumb bitch, saying thank god Tim is back to save us from that stupid bitch who doesn’t understand my beloved characters and blah blah blah. It’s honestly so misogynistic and gross. And you can say it has nothing to do with her being a woman, but if all a woman has to do to make you resort to calling her gendered slurs is do something you don’t agree with? Maybe examine that idk.
It is totally fine to disagree with the choices of show runners, especially when a show and its characters mean a lot to you. As someone who loves fiction I understand people feel very deeply about it. We have emotional attachments to these works, and that’s wonderful. But that doesn’t mean that when the creators of the thing you love do something you don’t like they are automatically horrible at their jobs and don’t understand their characters.
they're talking lies about you again. it makes me so angry and i want to defend you. ik you said to ignore before but how can you not be pissed?
Thanks for letting me know, Nonny. Solely so I can pre-emptively turn off anons for a bit. I don't know what you're speaking of because I have problematic people blocked, but given past history, I can only imagine.
My advice to you (and anyone else) remains the same: ignore them. They want attention, don't give it. They want to upset me (and people who care about me), don't let them. I strongly suggest you block them yourself if it protects your peace. I don't need this policed, and no one comes here to deal with this crap. They're clearly troubled; I actually pity them.
Take comfort in the fact that actions speak louder than words, and people of reason will see the truth. So please... protect your peace. I've done that, and it's worked wonders. Control your experience here.

I know this may sound a bit vague, but the absolute urge to tear down my former fandom foe by going through all her old writing, critiquing it seriously, and then nitpicking with childish "ding-dong, you are wrong" sentiments is extremely strong right about now.
I’m not sure what your intent was with that post about notes, but looking at it and some of the responses, it’s leaving a bad taste. For some to make comments that some creators who may have higher note counts are, in a nutshell, not deserving of them, that the quality of their content isn’t good enough for those notes, and that they get notes for other reasons is just rude and mean and completely unnecessary. I think it says a lot about those people making those kind of comments and what their purpose for making them truly was.
Hey Nonny
I have not even had a chance to read the comments yet, so I can't address them. Even when I do read them, I won't be able to answer because I can only speak for myself.
My only purpose in posting it is because I honestly want a gauge of what other writers feel right now because we're living in a very different fandom than many of us entered.
Absolutely nothing else was meant by it, and your assumption that I meant more is one of the BIG PROBLEMS in this fandom. Everyone assumes the worst and creates shit that doesn't need to be. We would do better if we gave people the benefit of the doubt and didn't always rush to assume the worst.
If you're referring to my comment about 100 notes, that wasn't me. A creator who is no longer very active told me that when I entered the fandom. I never agreed with it because I've read amazing fics with 15 notes and so-so ones with 200 and vice versa. Personally, some of the fics I consider my best have gotten far less than my fics with the most notes. I'm saying notes aren't an indicator, and if a writer isn't getting a lot of notes, they should not let that impact their self-confidence. It's absolutely not a snub at anyone getting more notes.
So I didn't mean anything by it. Everyone needs to stop thinking everything is about them in this fandom; it's creating entirely too much drama.
I love how neither Buck nor Eddie were wearing their suit jackets when they woke up yet they both put them on when they went to the wedding which is hilarious to me because even though they look like shit they wanted to be at least somewhat more presentable
People really are missing the point of a character like Nettles. Being the a non-Valyrian dragonrider is what makes her different(in every positive definition of that word) and helps to serve a larger purpose in this story.
Valyrian blood is not special. It’s not needed to do great things. No one is special because of what family they happen to be born into.
A non-Valyrian Nettles shows that we are more than the circumstances which we are born into. Our birth, our names, and our very blood does not define us. Our actions are what do. We can overcome so much and rise to become absolutely extraordinary with a little bit of determination, patience, and a dash of help along the way. Nettles exemplifies that to the fullest extent.
She's more than a Black Valryian. She doesn’t have to be Valyrian. She shouldn’t have to be Valyrian.
She’s a survivor. She’s a final girl. She’s a Black low-born girl likely without a drop of dragons blood that tames a wild dragon with patience that killed countless others who had dragons blood. She survived the Dance where others high and low alike fell and perished to become a firewitch to the Burned Men.
Her legacy is immortalized in the history books(and by the Burned Men cause they still worship her) as one of the last(if not the last) dragonrider(s) before Dany all without having any known Valyrian ancestry.
