I re-watched #SecondChance, and the concept, storylines and performances still hold up. I totally recommend for all sci-fi and crime drama fans.

Review
This short-lived science-fiction crime drama is a series that I’ve re-watched a few times. It’s a clever modernization of Mary Shelly‘s Frankenstein which follows the story of Jimmy Pritchard, a 75-year-old former disgraced sheriff, played by Philip Baker Hall, who is murdered during a…
Do you have any headcanons for the Outlander characters?
Hi Anon, thanks for this question! What a lovely thing I got to spend some time thinking and writing about. To quote Miriam Webster for those who may not know, a headcanon refers to something that a fan imagines to be true about a character or story even though no information supporting that belief is spelled out in the text.
So yes, definitely do! I mainly like to fill in the blank spaces or passages of time that the show does not cover fully. And because the show and source material span so much time, there are plenty of those. I love the drabbles people write for those reasons, but you asked me specifically for the characters, and my faves are Jamie and Claire so here we go.
Jamie:
Perhaps this is a more commonly discussed one, but my longstanding thoughts about his ghost that we see in the first episode. We know the ghost is Jamie at age 25 per Diana, which is about the time when Jamie fought in the battle of Culloden and had sent Claire back through the stones. We also know Jamie has "sight" and has been able to see his loved ones in the future through visions. Since Claire is from the future, I have always thought that as his sight increases, he likely could see Claire in her time and during her life before she went through the stones and met him.
He has also said countless times that his soul will find Claire's even in death, and that he would endure 200 years of purgatory in order for them to meet again. So I think that at the end of Jamie's life, he uses the knowledge of his 'sight' to send his soul and project himself to the place he knows Claire will be able to reunite with him, which is 1940's Inverness. I have always hoped that it is his appearance as a ghost that triggers the sequence of events in which Claire to goes to the stones, travels through time and meets him. So in my mind, in Jamie's death, he creates a never ending time loop that the two of them are in. (I hope that makes sense).
I also have thoughts pertaining to Jamie's childhood at Lallybroch and all of the adventures he found himself on with his older brother, Willie. They would climb the walls and venture to the furthest stretches of Lallybroch together, pretending to fight in battle or hunt. A five year age gap between the two likely meant that Jamie was often Willie's undesirable shadow, and the two undoubtably would fight.
I think the snake "Sawny" was carved by Willie as a token of respect and thanks following a scare on one of their escapades. The only snakes native to Scotland are venomous Adder snakes, and I bet Jamie saved Willie from being bit by one. To thank him, Willie carved him the snake with his nickname on the back. 'Sawny' is an abreviation or nickname of Alexander (Jamie's middle name). When Willie died of Smallpox in 1727 at age 11, Jamie was only 6. Two years later, Jamie lost his mother and younger brother Robert during the birth. It's no wonder this piece of his adolescence means so much to him and remained with him throughout his life. It was likely the fondest concrete memory he had, given to him when he had won the respect of his brother.
Claire:
I've ALWAYS wanted to have a storyline or a tidbit of information regarding Claire's parents. To me it's strange that Diana never wrote anything about them, or had Claire's character recall something substantial that her uncle might have said about them in the past. For background, Claire was born in London to Henry Beauchamp and Julia Moriston. We know from a small passage in Outlander that Claire looks like her mother, but I've long liked to imagine that Claire gets her fiery personality from her mother as well, who was only 32 when she died in 1923. Her mother's maiden name has Nordic/Scottish roots, while her father comes from French roots. In my head her father came from a more affluent or wealthy background, while her mother was more middle to low class.
Claire was born at the end of World War I in 1918 and I like to imagine that her parents met towards the beginning of the war (closer to 1914). At that time in England, women were beginning to fill the job positions left by men who had gone off to war, and there were countless strikes for equal pay taking place. In my mind Henry was a scholar like his brother who found himself perhaps a bit useless in his profession at the time of the war. Julia would have been in the middle of the women's rights movements and fighting for equal pay, perhaps working as bank teller or clerk. When Claire was born at the end of the war, I imagine she cut back on her hours but maintained some autonomy and retained her job she had spent so long fighting for.
I like to think the two met with a classic meet-cute, where Henry had lived a very privileged life filled with high profile connections forged through his parents and scholarly peers. Julia mistakenly finds herself among his social circle one day and completely knocks his socks off with her candor and forward ways of thinking. She challenged him, and treated him differently than any woman previous. Similar to how Jamie cannot help but adore Claire's outspoken nature, I picture Julia having that same fire and strength which Henry would and could not ignore. I'd read a book about them, I think!
These are just a few, I have PLENTY more but this would quickly become it's own novel :)
The House of Representatives passed a bill to establish an Office of Food Security at the Department of Veterans Affairs, with 49 Republicans voting against the proposal.
The Food Security for All Veterans Act was passed by a 376-49 vote, sending the bill to the Senate for approval.
The legislation, introduced by Democratic Rep. Mary Peltola, aims to establish a department to assist veterans facing food insecurity and lack of nutrition, such as providing them with information about food stamps and other programs.
Speaking on the House floor to advocate for what was her fist bill, Peltola said Alaska's high veteran population motivated her to push for the introduction of the department.
"There is nothing more important than ensuring our veterans and their families can enjoy a safe and healthy life after their service to our country," Peltola said.
The bill received overwhelming bipartisan support, with 49 Republicans being the only lawmakers who voted against the introduction of an Office of Food Security at the Department of Veterans Affairs, some of whom are military veterans themselves.

Newsweek has contacted several GOP lawmakers who voted against the bill for comment.
Each author on this list either because either they, their work, or their practice is misleading, appropriative, harmful, biased, bigoted, misogynist, racist, etc. Each of these authors have published media that is harmful to our community, or were a part of organizations that are. Several practitioners still live and/or practice based off of a lot of these materials. Several of these authors are known for producing media that is intended for newer witches, which just propagates and sustains harmful narratives within our community. Many of these authors are Wiccan, but why that is an issue will be for another article. The names highlighted in red are either especially harmful or very prevalent.
A blacklist of authors is intended to highlight problematic individuals, and/or problematic publications. Unless otherwise stated, the authors in this list should be avoided until a level of discernment is acquired through experience and research. Personally, I’d recommend avoiding all Theosophy publications completely.

Hello, I'm calling to ask you to support the palestinian people, and condem Israel's atrocious actions against them on the gaza strip, which by providing weapons to israel, the U.S. is complicit in. if you don't support the palestinian people, i cannot support you in the next election. Thank you

Hello. I'm calling to ask you to support Palestinians, and stop the Israeli genocide of the Palestinian people, which the U.S. is complicit in. Israel is committing genocide according to the Merriam-Webster definition of the word. from CNN and Vox, the U.S. provides most of Israel's weapons, making the U.S. complicit to this horrific act. Israel has claimed that they are trying to eliminate Hamas, however according to imeu.org, Israel is breaking the Geneva convention with its actions in Gaza, and is holding the Gaza strip in Apartheid. Reporters such as Bisan Owda describe the horrific bombings happening all over the strip, killing thousands, including thousands of children. from NPR and the Washington post, Rafah was considered the last safe place for over a million Palestinian refugees, and now Israel is bombing it. At least 67 people are now dead in Rafah because of this bombing.
I once again ask you to support the Palestinian people and condemn the horrific actions of Israel, I cannot support you in the next election if you don't. Thank you.
I included two incase somebody asks for elaboration, but as somebody else on here said, when calling a rep quantity over quality (when it's reasonable, still be polite and give accurate info etc). Also somebody else else on here said that calling is more effective than emails because emails are easier to ignore and a ringtone is audible, meaning anyone in the office can hear them not answering their phone.
Blackburn I know supports Israel. Cohen is the only Democrat among all of them afaik. Wish I had more insight to give here, I need to do more research.
It’s been a long time since I’ve done some writing games and I miss talking with the fandom, so I thought I’d do a follow-up of this one!

Summer Wine (Songs and Silencers): Teen and Up
Diana secured her desk and turned out the light. As she returned to bed and closed her eyes, she hoped to fall asleep and dream a new kind of dream. That one night she would open the hidden panel in her desk to find the gun missing, a familiar shadow approaching her from behind. 47 returning to take back what was his.
All that was his.
2. Lacrymosa: Explicit
Lips lingered as they drank each other deeply, emboldened with the knowledge that touch outmatched time in the swift healing of injured hearts.
3. Under the Moonlight: Mature
He pressed his lips to hers without hesitation, hoping she could feel what he felt for her through such a simple action. It was an experience he had only known for a few months, but he found kissing Diana to be as natural as breathing. And that night, with the moonlight making Diana as radiant and divine as the goddess of her namesake, 47 felt like a fool if he didn’t take the opportunity to worship her.
4. Divine Revelations: Teen and Up
“Tomorrow is never guaranteed,” he said quietly. “You should tell him how you feel. The love you seek may not be returned, but the knowledge would hurt less than the pain of regret.”
5. Unwrapped: Explicit
Perhaps he would speak to her about the ache in his chest tomorrow. Tonight, he would fight the sleep in his eyes a little longer so he could enjoy this moment of Diana in his arms.
It was his birthday, after all. He could indulge in a dream.
6. Five Minutes: Teen and Up
He seemed to fascinate her, and she caught his interest in return. Diana was the first person to see him as more than a number. She was the first person he felt he could trust.
7. Business and Pleasure: Explicit
“It’s dangerous to be distracted.”
She could see a hint of hesitation on his face, his true concern for getting so lost in their memories that he ignored his objective in the present. His hesitation was short lived as she caressed his cheek and leaned in close, a mere breath away from his lips.
“Danger never stopped us before,” she mused. “Why stop us now?”
8. Flight of the Sparrow: Mature
“Mr. Webster, you must not be familiar with the tales of sparrows.” Diana looked over to the pieces that remained of the ornate bird on the sofa. 47 readied his silencer.
“Some say the sparrow is the harbinger of death. Should you capture one, you would be wise to kill it. Otherwise, your life will meet its end.”
9. Irresistible: Explicit
She gasped in a mixture of excitement and surprise as he tossed the lacy remains aside and sucked on her collar.
“You’re going to pay for that,” Diana admonished, nipping his ear playfully.
“I’ve been paying for it all day,” 47 growled in desperation.
10. All Eyes On Us: Explicit
They embraced through the night as the lovers they were meant to be, comforted in the knowledge that while the Riepers’ honeymoon was at its end, their chapter was just beginning, and together they would always remain.

23 Republican Senators & 124 Congressmen signed an amicus brief to the Supreme Court asking for a 50 state ban on mifepristone, a drug safer than tylenol that is standard treatment for abortion & miscarriages, "due to safety concerns".
The brief DARES to argue that banning the life saving drug would save women from 'reproductive control'. (x)

If your representatives are on this list, call them and tell their office you will be voting against them in the next election because they asked SCOTUS to throw the US medical drug system into chaos at the cost of American lives.

On August 4, 1967, Peter was a guest DJ on KDWB. (You can find another portion of The Monkees’ takeover of the radio station here.)
However, it wasn’t Peter’s debut as a DJ:
“I was a DJ on KARL radio [at Carleton College].” - Peter Tork, MPR, 1987
“Photographer Mike Barich was there with his girlfriend Vicki Peters, shown above with Peter Tork in a photo taken by Barich. (Victoria Peters was from West St. Paul and was Miss October 1972.) Barich remembers that they were listening to rival station WDGY over their transistor radios, a fact Mike picked up on and mentioned during the broadcast.” - twincitiesmusichighlights dot net
For those curious, here are the songs Peter spun on the air on this occasion:
“I Want You, I Need You, I Love You” — Elvis Presley
“Psychotic Reaction” — The Count Five
“Blue Suede Shoes” — Elvis Presley
“All Shook Up” — Elvis Presley
“Mr. Webster” — The Monkees
“Penny Lane” — The Beatles
“Going Down Slow” — Aretha Franklin
“Carrie Anne” — The Hollies
“Plastic Fantastic Lover” — Jefferson Airplane
“Fingertips (Pt. 2)” — Stevie Wonder
“Jailhouse Rock” — Elvis Presley
“Eleanor Rigby” — The Beatles [Peter had also played the song on the guitar during The Monkees' stay in London earlier that summer; read more here.]
“I Was Made To Love Her “— Stevie Wonder
“Bluebird” — Buffalo Springfield
“Always You” — The Sundowners
“Mr. Soul” — Buffalo Springfield
“Hi-Heel Sneakers” — Tommy Tucker
“(I’m A) Roadrunner” — Junior Walker & The Allstars
“Behave Yourself” — Booker T & The M.G.’s
“Reflections” — Diana Ross & The Supremes
“When The Saints Go Marching In” — Tony Sheridan & The Beat Brothers (aka The Beatles)

Biography: (tw: death/murder )
Diana Monroe was a Tonopah Falls native who made her living working at the local gentlemen’s club. She was especially known for her Marilyn Monroe act, a show that quickly earned the attention of none other than Jeffrey Decker. It didn’t take long for them to engage in a sexual relationship behind his family’s back and well out of the public eye. About six months into their affair, a positive pregnancy test popped the picture-perfect bubble Diana thought she’d been living in. As expected, Jeffrey was furious and more concerned about his public image than the child she was carrying. Immediately, and without a second thought, he demanded that Diana get an abortion– even if he had to pay for it, but she refused. And so he made her go away.
Packing every bit of what she owned, which admittedly wasn’t very much, Diana left her home, her brother Michael, and everything she’d ever known just to keep Jeffrey’s threats at bay. She eventually settled in Knoxville, Tennessee, and soon fell into the same old habits she couldn’t outrun no matter how far she strayed from Tonopah Falls. Cole Michael Monroe was born on April 14, 1985– a month and a half early and tweaking on his mother’s cocaine. Not expected to survive, Cole spent the next several weeks in the NICU, undergoing a number of different surgeries and fighting for his life until he was healthy enough for discharge. He mostly raised himself. Diana was either too busy, too high, or too depressed to be the mother Cole needed her to be, but it did little to quell his love for her. Day after day, he cared for his mother and tended to her more than she ever did for him.
Cole stayed in and out of trouble all throughout his childhood and early teens. He often got kicked out of school, even had a couple stints in juvenile detention. But his world stopped on its axis when, at fifteen years old, he found his mother dead in their mobile home following a heroin overdose. After Diana’s death, Cole was directed to the next of kin– his uncle, Michael Monroe. Michael and his wife, Laura, willingly took Cole in and brought him back to Tonopah Falls to live with them. Michael, a founding member of the Sons of Silence and owner of Reaper Crew Auto, quickly indoctrinated Cole and the young teen fell in love with club life almost instantly.
He started out as a hangaround then began prospecting at eighteen. At nineteen years old, Cole patched in as a member of the Sons of Silence and never looked back. Cole got into some trouble at twenty-six years old. He was arrested for attempted murder and aggravated assault, and handed a ten year prison sentence after nearly beating to death the abusive ex-boyfriend of a close friend. Prison took a toll on Cole. Not only was his uncle killed in a driveby shooting during that time, but the injuries Cole sustained in prison and the amount of hours he spent in solitary confinement began to wear on him.
After five years inside, Cole was released on parole at thirty-one years old. He spent the better part of the next year trying to piece his life back together and pick up where he left off. A few years later, the SOS fell into turmoil, with their president colluding behind the club’s back with Los Santos to line his pockets with cash. Once discovered, the former president was immediately removed and dealt with, and the club was left at a crossroads. They turned to Cole for guidance with their future hanging in the balance. On the eve of his thirty-fifth birthday, he was voted in as the new president of the Sons of Silence. Since then, he’s been working hard to put the club first and stay on top of the ever-present feud between the Sons and Los Santos.
