Fluffuary, Day #5 - Warmth, 2nd Fic Rec

And now, backwards a bit, to a previous prompt because the very theme belongs to a certain iconic author. Her writing is synonymous with thermoregulation in this fandom, I do believe. I’ve been told she was the founder of this concept and applied it so well, she inspired the rest.

Give it up for grilledcheesing and her fic, “5 Times Peter Pretended To Be Tougher Than He Was.”

These series are always a delight, but this chapter specifically stood out to me as one of an exceptional Irondad brand since it revolves around that cute AF theme of Tony doing his damnedest to upgrade Peter’s suit. He shows his protectiveness and care this way for the most serious of situations -- and then for the most mundane ones too, like keeping the spider-kid warm on an average day. Aptly makes me fuzzy inside.

AU where after the disc finale, Tommy builds a community garden instead of a hotel at the remains of L’manberg.

Tommy would still ask Sam for help with things such as dirt, tools, and other supplies to which Sam gladly offers (because an attempt to tidy up that huge ass crater is better than nothing). He’d help out sometimes when he wasn’t busy with other building projects or when dealing with The Egg. It became a regular occurrence for Tommy to barge into his base demanding supplies, so on days where Sam couldn’t help out or is away, he’d leave chests filled with the things Tommy needs for the garden. In return, Tommy agreed to pay him back with other resources such as iron, food, and at least a stack of diamonds, and whatever other resources he found digging up in L’Crater/L’Canyon.

Eret is the one that gives Tommy some gardening tips and also provides him a gardening outfit. He is pretty enthusiastic about the garden idea and helps out Tommy when not busy with his kingly duties. He’d often drop by and help Tommy place dirt and gather resources when Sam isn’t around. He later helps with the design and decor of the garden after Tommy’s first attempt turned out pretty fucking ugly (he used cobblestone and gold blocks as decoration this boi don’t know shit about aesthetic—). During breaks or after a day of hard work, Eret often provides a picnic where he and Tommy, sometimes joined by Sam and Tubbo, would munch down on some food he made and just chill.

When Tommy told Tubbo about the garden, Tubbo immediately thought of reconstructing his bee apiary. Safe to say Tubbo was wholly on board with the idea. If it meant hanging out with his best friend and finding new bees in the process, of course it’s a win for him. He’d often come by after his duties maintaining Snowchester. There are some days where he and Tommy would goof around instead of getting work done leaving either Sam and/or Eret doing most of the grinding. Tho usually on those days, they’d rope them along with their antics leaving no one actually getting work done.

As for Tommy himself, the community garden was a way to make up for the damaged caused during his disc war. Though for the most part, it represents his process of healing. L’Manberg, for a time, was his heart, and leaving it to rot as a damned ugly crater filled with painful memories felt wrong. And since the community house was blown up, maybe having a community garden for everyone to share and contribute to wouldn’t be such a bad idea...

(Eventually one by one, everyone starts to contribute their own thing to the community garden, serving as a place that brings everyone in the server together [whether that’s a good or bad thing we’ll see 😉])

More of the Community Garden AU u guys rly liked.

First image of Eret, Sam, Tubbo, and Tommy hanging out and having a picnic after working on the garden. Eret brought extra sandwiches just in case. He also provided everyone their own gardening outfits and hats lol.

And more of Sam and Tommy interactions. I mentioned that Tommy visits Sam at his base for gardening supplies. Tommy usually comes in the morning and arrives whenever Sam just got out of bed. With his regular visits, sometimes Tommy catches Sam making breakfast and Sam would offer him some food. Eventually, it becomes routine and the both of them would eat breakfast together before heading out to the garden. Tommy would bring along some fruits and veggies he grew in the garden and would sometimes help Sam make the food.

(Now I’m thinking of a scenario where the two would attempt to make a fancy breakfast, but since none of them are chefs both fail miserably so they had to drag in Tubbo who has the most culinary experience)
