everybody else looks like they’ve figured it out (15.015 words) by spellingmynamewrong
university AU
Summary:
Of course Sirius remembers Remus. Of course he remembers when they first met, three months ago at some wine night hosted by Dorcas, and Remus had been brought along as a potential set-up opportunity for Lily, and once James figured that out, Sirius had been delegated to running interference and making small talk with Remus for the duration of the night, at which point he discovered, rather unfortunately, that Remus was not only unbearably gorgeous and interesting and certainly Lily’s type, but also his own type, and Sirius made the mistake of giving Remus his number and saying they should hang out, and then Remus pocketed his phone, smiled, and said, “Great, I’m always looking to make more friends!”
Or: a week in the life of Sirius Black, struggling Oxford student and (reluctant) hopeless romantic.
Comment:
I'm always a sucker for a good university AU and this one didn't disappoint, I really enjoyed all of Sirius's pining and Remus's obliviousness!

The people in the mansion held a feast today. Apparently it's a special occasion.
Ashe and Claire did most of the cooking, As always.
I, Sirius and Noel also took part.
Tumblr media
“ On this occasion, I hope you have a party to remember and a feast to enjoy. ”
.. well, that's what they said.

@wolfstarmicrofic - prompt: sweet - I'll get back to non-figure skaters au microfics eventually but this is a bit before again, they're 14/15ish cw: sirius has an unhealthy relationship with food
It was well into the evening when Remus found Sirius alone in the gym. Wordlessly, he dropped his satchel and joined him on the bike for his warm-down. By the time they were finished and sprawled out on the floor, Sirius looked about ready to fall straight asleep.
Remus glanced at his friend, and worried at his lips. Then, having made a decision, he tugged out of his satchel a tupperware, all steamed up from the inside, and slid it over to Sirius’ fingers. “Here.” Remus said, “I know you missed dinner.”
“What’s that?” Sirius frowned, barely lifting his head off the floor.
“Sugar buns. Ma made them. I got Mrs Chen at the kitchens to warm them up and everything,” Remus kept up a ramble to watch Sirius contemplate the box in his hands. “She almost made me take the entire steamer of it, you know? ‘Cause James and Pete loved these so much from last month. I don’t think she even believes she’s supposed to rest when I visit.”
Remus could see the temptation of Hope’s cooking flash in Sirius’ eyes, but it quickly became shadowed with that familiar rueful reluctance, even as Remus cracked open the box and pushed an invitingly plump white bun into his hand.
Sirius shook his head. “This is literally just sugar and carbs.”
Remus nearly rolled his eyes. “You do need sugar and carbs, you know? I could drag you to Pomfrey for her to tell you herself. Go on, eat. You’ll feel better,” he urged.
“Our Moony is oh-so-wise.”
“Oh yeah. You need food to skate— rocket science. Come on, one bun isn’t going to ruin your figure, or whatever it is you’re worrying about.”
Sirius winced at that, and Remus almost regretted saying it, but he pushed on. “At least listen to Pomfrey before your mother, you know? I don’t know why they don’t teach us more about nutrition. Lily had a freak-out about this too. And I still see you glaring murder at the puddings at dinner, so I know you want them.”
“But you get it, don’t you?” Sirius looked down, slowly spun the warm dough ball in his hand, “It’s so close to the Worlds. I’m so close. I’ll just go back to normal after!”
“That’s rich. As if you’ll ever be normal. After this one you’ll just be going on other planes flying off to other places, and you’d never stop to listen to your stomach.”
Miraculously on cue, Sirius’ stomach grumbled.
“Oh you traitor.” Sirius looked down mournfully at his stomach, then finally, finally relented, and gave the bun a bite. Remus grinned ear-to-ear when Sirius’ eyes lit up. “Wait. This is good.”
“I know,” Remus leaned over, stealing a bit of the bun and licking the syrupy filling off his fingers, “how’s that for Mr Hot-Chocolate-is-Too-Sweet-For-Me.”
“Come on!” Sirius laughed, “I said that one time!”
“Should have known better than to insult chocolate then, shouldn’t ya?”

“Xiaodi Huang, hm? Sirius let you get away with that?” Regulus kept his eyes fixed on the opposite side of the room and where he could see the Captain speaking to the man he’d been looking for, the one his friend Marlene had sent him looking for, but he tilted his head enough to acknowledge Lily’s presence where she’d stepped up beside him, and flicked his eyes in her direction before looking at James again.
Every thought in the room seemed to follow her, lustful and jealous in equal measure, shark-like attention swarming in her wake. It made his skull throb; and across the room, Regulus could have picked out her partner for the evening based on the black swirl of his thoughts alone.
Severus Snape, James’ thoughts had whispered; a regular with a mind to keep Lily to himself.
Regulus disliked him on principle as much as on what he could now read from him. He was mildly concerned about what might happen if the man’s temper got away from him while he was still in James’ eyesight.
“Sirius is the only person capable of understanding why it’s funny. Besides you, with your comprehensive Companion training.” Lily laughed softly under her breath, fingertips pressed to her lips; and Regulus begrudgingly admitted that like this, in her element, he could truly understand the Captain’s fascination with her.
She reminded him of Narcissa, with her striking eyes and flawless manners; but she was warmer than Regulus’ cousin had ever been outside of closed quarters.
Lily Evans was the loveliest woman in the room, Companion or otherwise; and, from what Regulus could tell, smarter than the lot of them by half.
The Chinese name for the star that had given him his birth name was Huangdi. Between that, and taking the first name Xiaodi for his alias - which meant little dawn, or little emperor, where Regulus meant little king - to someone like Sirius, who knew who he really was and had received much of the same starting education as Regulus had done, it was a particularly tongue-in-cheek disguise.
To everyone who wasn’t Sirius - or Lily Evans, similarly educated, similarly aware of who he was enough to make the connection - it was a regular enough name, likely given by parents with high expectations for him.
Many in the crowd had decided he was probably a Companion; Lily’s company was only encouraging such assumptions. He didn’t mind; it was as good a cover as any, and helped to make James look respectable and like he belonged in the social circles they walked in tonight.
He did mind the way Severus Snape was continuing to stare at them.
“He was going to ask Pandora, but she would have failed to make him look respectable in the ways he wanted. She’s too…” He pursed his lips, struggling to find the right word, before it came to him from a mind that may not have been his own. “Genuine. Too much herself. She doesn’t know how to wear a mask the way it’s necessary to in a room like this.”
“Neither does James,” Lily reminded him, her own attention flitting across the room to the man in question, still making quiet conversation with the man he wanted to do business with; and Regulus pulled his attention forcefully out of Lily’s mind, distracting himself with details.
He focussed on the thumping of his heart in his chest, steady and even. On the rush of his blood in his ears. On the distant hum off the chandelier hovering at the ceiling, drifting lazily up and down in a tawdry display of wealth that would have made his mother’s lip curl.
He thought about how everyone in this room - excepting the woman standing beside him now, and one or two others who were more than their neatly pressed clothing - would have looked down on Pandora if she’d been here in his place, would have seen her as cheap and common. He thought about how his mother would have looked down on all of them just the same; as vulgar and beneath her, as barely better than the rabble on the streets of Persephone.
“No. But that’s why I’m here.”
Regulus’ ability to hide behind a mask had been flawless since he was a child - with a stretch in the middle, when everything had been so loud that he’d not known how to hide anything, how to hide from what was going on inside his own head - and it took little to no effort to be that for James now. To stand with Lily in cheaply-made hanfu and wear his hair half-down so it spilled almost to his waist, to be the subject of heated attention and keep those eyes off his Captain while he lined up their newest heist.
Lily reached out to touch his elbow gently; and when he looked over at her, there was understanding in her eyes that made his stomach churn uncomfortably.
“Your partner is getting jealous,” he informed her quietly; and her lips thinned in the same moment that both Severus Snape and James started back toward the pair of them, the former practically dragging storm clouds with the dark turn his thoughts had taken while the latter was bright with the excitement of a job successfully acquired.
Some days, Regulus wished he could live inside James’ skull. Even on his worst days, it was nicer than the inside of Regulus’ own mind.
“Lily,” Snape snapped out when he was close enough, holding a hand out for her impatiently; and Regulus turned cool, unimpressed eyes his way, arching an eyebrow even as Lily lowered her own eyes demurely and made to take the offered appendage.
“It is impolite to interrupt the conversations of others like that,” he informed him, in the same moment that James got close enough to set a possessive hand against his waist the way Regulus had told him to before they’d arrived; and while Snape sneered back at him, James looked between Regulus, Lily, and her ill mannered companion sharply.
“You should know your place,” Snape informed him; and the facts on the other man’s life were laid out before a probing push of Regulus’ mind like the pages of an old-world book, every weak point it would be so easy to drive needles into revealed to him.
You’re nothing, he could tell him, confident in the truth of it. You were born nothing; you’re still nothing, besides the lapdog to every Alliance thug whose boots you’ve knelt to lick. A word from them would throw you back into the gutter you crawled from; the right word in the correct ear would see you dead there. Your place is so far below my own I can barely see you for the distance.
Instead, he pulled a polite, empty smile across his face, and ducked his head and shoulders in a polite, elegant little bow.
“My mistake. I was under the assumption you knew better than to disregard Miss Evans’ agency so publicly, given how sought after she is as a Companion. Had she been on my arm I would have treated her with the utmost respect and deference; but she is not, and she can, I’m certain, look out for herself.”
Snape’s expression clouded over in much the same way as his thoughts did, and James’ hand tightened on Regulus’ waist in silent warning; but the damage was done, dominoes Regulus could see laid out between the minds around him already toppling.
“You should control your whore,” Snape informed James with a sneer, in the same moment that he closed his fingers around Lily’s elbow harder than was entirely polite; and for a moment James just stilled, staring at the other man, his thoughts still with mute shock.
And then he let go of Regulus in favour of punching him in the face.
Satisfaction curled in Regulus’ chest, and he leaned against Lily while James and Snape were pulled apart, letting her tug him in against her chest in a show of comforting him after the insult; and he firmly reminded himself that he could not be seen smiling as Snape accepted the duel James hadn’t realised he’d been demanding.
Sirius was going to be furious with him for this.
But, well. The long-term benefits would far outweigh an evening of worry.

One of my personal Harry Potter headcanons is Walburga Black being a chinese woman.
Like, she was teenager girl really in love with her culture and heritage, but her father wants to marry her off in the Black family because they're crazy rich and he wants to make connections in the west.
Arcturus Black making Orion marry her as a punishment because he was getting himself involved with a muggleborn (they didn't know Riddle was the Slytherin Heir yet), the Black family being strongly racist and making Walburga change her birth name to fit the family, but she's not allowed to have a star nor constellation as her name since she's not a Black by blood.
Arcturus choosing a common everyday name to her, to remember her that while she was marrying into the family, she's not at the same level or class as the Black's and Walburga resigning her heritage, her name and her life to fit into this messed up family.
She slowly becoming obsessed with blood purity, the british culture and lifestyle, trying to please her father-in-law and her husband being a big boob who lows his head and let's his father and wife walk all over him. Walburga seeing people of her own culture and background as outcasts and less, training in the mirror everyday to get rid of her accent and trying to make her eyes look more western.
When Sirius is born and picks her accent when speaking, Walburga sends him during the summer to stay with his uncle Alphard because he has a strong british accent and Orion doesn't have time for this children he didn't want.
Sirius finding out he is half-chinese and asking Walburga why she never mentions it, or why he can't meet her side of the family and that results in the first time she slaps him in the face. Arcturus censoring Sirius and saying he shouldn't talk about his mom's past, because that brought shame on their family.
But this only makes Sirius more and more interested on his heritage and that's why he's so more open minded than his family, he learned really early on about how his family saw his mother's background as something shameful and not worth talking about, when it's literally just the fact that she's a chinese woman.
Sirius relationship with his family is not the best at all, he gets in a lot of fights with his cousins and Walburga is just always do mad at him, because she worked so hard to swept things under the rug and here is this cursed child ruining years and years of work.

Squint And You'll See It
Summary: Sirius and his potions partner are trying to brew Polyjuice Potion for class, and he can't seem to figure out why she won't wear her glasses.
Notes: Sirius Black x shy!reader. All fluff, really. This is the most self-indulgent thing I've ever written. I'm weirdly self-conscious about the sounds I make, how loud they are, if they could annoy/distract people, etc. so I wrote this just to comfort myself about it lol. I ended up using Y/N a bunch because using too many pronouns in a row makes my brain bristle so oh well. Still though, this is the sweetest thing I think I've ever written. Enjoy! <3
Tumblr media
Y/N squinted up at the blackboard as Slughorn collected the class’s attention once again, and Sirius just about melted. The all-too-familiar scrunch in her nose and the crease between her brows gave him more comfort than he probably should have taken from her struggles to see the properties of Chinese Chomping Cabbage from so far back in the classroom. After an especially rapid flurry of blinking, she scribbled a couple notes on her parchment before fisting her knuckles in her eyes tiredly.
Sirius nudged her gently. As if it wasn’t already, the honey-doe eyes she gave him had his heart overflowing with a plush fondness.
“Your glasses, love,” he whispered, nodding to her book bag, which hung off of the back of her chair. Y/N looked at it, then blinked twice. The glasses were a new and quite helpful development—one she hadn’t quite gotten into the habit of using yet. She eyed the bag again.
“I’m alright,” she whispered back and returned to her notes.
Sirius frowned. “You sure?”
She nodded, giving him a light smile.
Sirius frowned slightly but returned to his notes when Slughorn chided him for having his eyes elsewhere. But how could he be blamed? Only a madman would rather learn about ingredients than watch her.
For a surprisingly long while, Sirius managed to stay focused on his notes, sometimes copying Remus’s, who sat on his right side, and only occasionally sneaking glances at Y/N, who sat on his left. After what felt like an eternity, Slughorn finally let the pair work on their Polyjuice Potion at a work table in the far back of the classroom. Sirius had come down with a nasty case of spattergroit several weeks previous and missed a week and a half of the brewing process. Unfortunately, Y/N had missed several days herself due to a family matter (now resolved with nothing to worry about, she had assured Sirius countless times), ending in the complete devastation of their original Polyjuice batch. And so, Y/N, unwilling to take a bad mark, and Sirius, ready to do just about anything to keep spending time with her, decided to make another batch.
“Do you want to gather the ingredients or shall I?” she asked as Sirius scooted his stool closer to hers (to better reach the cauldron, of course).
“I can get the ingredients,” he said, flashing what he hoped was his most charming smile, and she blushed.
“Alright, I’ll, erm … I’ll work out our next instructions …” Sirius nodded as Y/N fell into her reading, smiling to himself as her brows furrowed once again to scan the page.
Sirius skirted the classroom towards ingredient shelves, passing by James, Peter, and Remus, who all raised their brows at him with smirks. He simply rolled his eyes, rummaging through the shelves until he had gathered the correct ingredients. But when he turned around, ready to make his way back to Y/N and their Polyjuice Potion, he was met with a horrible sight: Remus, holding a tight-lipped frown in a near-futile attempt to ward off a smile, Peter, doubled over with laughing cramps, and James, turned around in his chair and arms wrapped around himself, raking them up and down his back in a sultry fashion as he pretended to make out with someone.
With a peeved sigh, Sirius chucked a bundle of knotgrass at James, seed pods bursting and small nettle-like seeds clinging to James's hair. Of course, the three burst into peals of raucous laughter. Sirius groaned, and quickly made his way back to the back work table as Slughorn chastised the rest of them.
“Sirius, are you alright? You’re looking a bit … erm, warm.”
Sirius’s ears burned even hotter, and his eyes flew to examine the grout between the floor tiles.
“Yeah, yeah, ‘m perfect, lovie.” He set down his armful of glass jars and clay bowls, trying desperately to change the subject. “Found what we’ve got to do yet?”
“Mhm,” she hummed. “Just here, it says we must add three bits of boomslang skin—”
“Got that here.”
“—crush the bicorn horn and add that—”
“Got that as well.”
“—and then there are some cooking instructions, but we can cross that bridge when we come to it.”
“Sounds good to me, love.” Sirius smiled warmly.
The two worked in harmony, Y/N checking and double-checking that she was measuring everything correctly and Sirius adding the ingredients once she had prepared them. The two worked in sweet, warm peace, managing only one easily-averted disaster, all while keeping quiet as Slughorn continued to teach the rest of the class. There was a strange sort of domesticity to it that made Sirius’s heart skip beats, and he imagined himself with Y/N in their future home, huddled around a cauldron and brewing something to keep them warm on a Siberian night—
“How long should it be at a high temperature again?” Sirius asked, forcing himself from his daydreaming and adding the crushed bicorn horn.
“Erm …” Y/N’s nose practically brushed the page with how closely she peered at the instructions. With the smallest sound of annoyance Sirius had ever heard, her head moved to allow her eyes to travel along the far wall, where a dozen or so posters displayed recipes for a variety of potions. She sighed lightly, squinting heard and pushing herself on tiptoe (as if it would help).
“Use your glasses, love,” Sirius suggested but was quickly brushed off.
“‘M fine, really,” Y/N murmured, eyes still squinting.
“Sweetheart,” the word caught Y/N’s attention, and she fell back onto her heels, eyes barely meeting Sirius’s before drilling into the bubbling cauldron, “you’ll give yourself a migraine. Use your glasses.” Y/N glanced uneasily from Sirius to her bag on the back of her chair and back. Sirius’s brows furrowed. “What is it, love?”
Y/N shook her head. “Nothing, it’s nothing.”
“Then … wear your glasses,” Sirius reasoned, and she let out a little huff. “Why don’t you want to wear them, lovie?”
“It’s not that I don’t want to wear them, it’s just …” Sirius watched her with soft, almost concerned eyes.
Y/N sighed, pushing herself onto the stool with knees pressed together. The thought was silly, but she had known Sirius long enough to know he wasn’t going to let this go.
“The buckle on the bag, it’s …” Sirius’s knee knocked gently against hers. “It’s loud—it clatters about when I open it. Catches people’s attention. And my glasses are in the bag, so if I open the bag, people will stare, and then people stare at me when I have my glasses on anyway—not that I’m not grateful for the glasses! They’re a great help for seeing the board during cl—”
Sirius couldn’t help but let out a small chuckle, and he almost felt bad at the pout Y/N dealt in return. “First of all, love, people stare at you and your glasses because you look fucking divine when you wear them. I should know.” He brushed her arm playfully with his, and she flushed a brilliant shade of red-pink. “And second, no one thinks anything about your loud bag buckles, I promise.”
Y/N rolled her eyes. “I just—I don't want to disrupt them is all …”
Sirius chuckled again, but still, Y/N didn't make a move for her bag. It took only a moment and a half of contemplation before Sirius burst into the most fake-sounding fit of coughs ever created in the history of this Earth. Nearly the entire class turned to stare at him as he seemingly hacked up a lung, and he hung himself dramatically off of the table’s edge to play it up just that little bit more.
“Mr. Black, are you quite alright?” Professor Slughorn asked, eyes slightly wide with concern.
“Y-yes, Pro—” Sirius coughed a dozen more times, discretely winking at Y/N, who seemed to get the point and quietly retrieved her glasses from her bag. Not a soul noticed.

Prompt 24 - Dinner
@jegulus-microfic January 24 Word count 970
Previous part First part
“Seriously! What the fuck?!” Sirius cried out, all signs of sleepiness gone.
“Sirius,” Regulus pleaded, not finding it funny anymore. Sirius closed his eyes and inhaled deeply before pointing at his brother.
“You get out of that bed right now.” Regulus, for once, did as he was told and began to clamber out. When Sirius saw that he was only in his underwear, he immediately covered his eyes and said. “No, no. Get back into bed.—Regulus, I mean it. I do not need to see that!”
It was James’s turn to snicker now, but it soon died in his throat when Sirius turned his icy stare on him. He became very interested in the colour of his sheets.
Remus cleared his throat, getting Sirius’s attention.
“Why don't we go shower, get some clean clothes on and a coffee in you? Let these two idiots get sorted, and we’ll reconvene for dinner?” He put a hand on Sirius’s shoulder. Sirius pouted.
“But Remus—”
“I know. But I think we’d all be happier if we took a minute and James and Regulus weren’t  in a state of undress, don’t you?” Sirius grimaced.
“Yeah— You’re right. Wait!” His eyes blew up. “James, please tell me that you’re wearing more than your underwear?!”
“No, Sirius, he's completely naked,” Regulus cackled, mischief back in his eyes.
“Reg, why?” James whined.
Remus put his other hand on Sirius’s shoulder and firmly manoeuvred him towards the door.
“Grimmauld Place. Six O’Clock. Bring Chinese food.” He told them before shoving Sirius out of the room. They could hear him protesting all the way down the stairs and out the front door.
“Well, that could have gone better,” Regulus said, completely straight-faced.
“You think?” James croaked back. He ran his fingers through his already mussed-up hair. “Reggie, I think we need to talk about this—us. Before we face Sirius again. Just so we both know what’s going on.” He felt himself blushing. Regulus luckily didn’t notice as he got out of bed and began dressing from the neat pile of carefully folded clothes he’d left on James’s dresser. James waited for Regulus to finish, carefully turning his head away to give him privacy.
He went over to the dresser and pulled out some clean clothes. He dumped them on the bed and began dressing. Only realising Regulus had been staring at him the entire time as he went to change his underwear.
“Do you mind?” He asked pointedly.
“Not even a little bit.” Regulus grinned. “Need to make sure I like the whole package.” He waggled his eyebrows, and James realised how much like his brother Regulus looked at that moment.
He turned his back on Regulus and quickly removed yesterday's pants. In the short time he had no underwear on, Regulus had darted across the room and grabbed his arse. He jumped in the air and squealed in shock. Regulus’s head squeezed under his arm so he could look down. “Reg, what the actual?!” Regulus pulled his head free and wrapped his arms around James’s waist. He reached up on his tiptoes. His body pressed firmly into James’s back.
“10/10,” He whispered into James’s ear before nipping the lobe and disappearing out of the room, leaving James standing there holding his clean pants in his hand, gobsmacked.
He wasn’t sure where Regulus had gone. So, when he was fully dressed, he went downstairs.
He was sat at the kitchen table munching on a pile of toast. James sat opposite him. Regulus pushed a steaming cup of tea across the table at him. James beamed at the little offering. He didn’t think he’d ever seen Regulus make anyone anything, let alone a cup of tea. He was honoured.
They sat in comfortable silence while they munched through the stack of toast. James had grabbed a jar of jam to spread on if they wanted to with the butter.
Once they’d finished their breakfast, even if it was basically lunchtime, James tidied away their things and sat back down.
“So,” He said, clearing his throat. “I think we need to talk,” It felt so awkward. He didn’t know how to do this. Regulus saved him.
“The way I see it is. I like you. I’m guessing you like me? Do you want to see if this goes anywhere?” James nodded and grinned.
“Yeah, okay. That sounds nice.”
“What, only nice?” Regulus raises an eyebrow at him.
“Really nice?” James offered. Regulus huffs a laugh through his nose.
“Yeah, okay, really nice.” His expression changes, “We still have some time before we’re expected at Grimmauld. Wanna watch a film?” Regulus didn’t wait for an answer. Instead, he went to the living room and turned the TV on. James joined him, not even thinking about it.
He sat down next to Regulus on the sofa, and Regulus snuggled into his side. It felt so natural as if they’d been doing it for years. At some point, his hand ended up in Regulus’s hair, his fingers carded through the curls. Regulus let out soft hums, like a cat, now and again.
The stroking turned to touching, and before he knew it, Regulus was straddling his lap, and they were kissing, movie forgotten.
Too soon, the reminder James had set sounded, and they were forced to head out.
Thirty minutes later, they had two bulging bags of steaming takeaway and were standing outside number twelve Grimmauld Place.
James closed his eyes, taking a deep breath as his hand hovered over the doorknob.
“Reg,” He said quietly. “Please don’t rile him up.” Regulus winked at him before pushing him aside and opening the door. James rolled his eyes and sighed before walking over the threshold, praying that just once, the Black brothers wouldn’t go out of their way to annoy each other.

Chinese Black brothers my beloved
Thinking about them staying up at night while Sirius watches Regulus make wonton dumplings with Walburga because his hands tend to shake, both of them doing a deep clean of their rooms/dorms before Lunar New Year, everyone thinks they are yelling at each other Mandarin when they are just having a casual conversation about the Quidditch, and Sirius secretly gifting Regulus red pocket money in hopes it will be enough for him to get out of Grimmauld because he knows Walburga takes his from family members.
And the pure imagery of Sirius banging pots to wake everyone to clean Gryffindor tower and Regulus vacuuming the Slytherin dungeons with Severus and waking everyone up. Sirius also hosts Lunar New Years which go on all night with Karaoke and drinking games.

@wolfstarmicrofic - prompt: party - happy mid-autumn festival! thought I'd share with you the headcanon where Hope followed the wave of students from China to Europe & North America in the 40s-50s, before she fell in love and decided to stick around. this snippet is wolfstar at hogwarts.
“They’d met on this day. It was at some party for the festival the students threw together.” Remus murmured, smoothing out the creases of the lantern where it got scrunched in the post. His every movement was shaky and slow, willing against how his bones rattled for the moon rising in a couple of hours. “And a year later they were married. Kissed under the full moon and everything. Ma would have loved full moons before I ruined it.”
“Stop that, Moons,” Sirius said immediately. He pried the paper lantern out from his hand, waved to send it hanging by the window. Later that night, it would be quietly glowing with the moon while the boys ran wild in the woods. “You didn’t ruin anything.”
Remus shook his head. He tried to focus on the warmth of Sirius’ chest through his back, the careful, soft touches of a thumb up and down the inside of his arm, rather than the wolf’s growl inside his skull. The moons that landed on festivals were only more of a mess— how did one confront it all as the beast that the revels tried to fend off? In the feverish haze leading up to his running free, it was all he could do to stave off the wolf and its hatred from taking over his mind, with Sirius as his only anchor. Sirius, and the reminder of his mother, in the letter still open on his lap, the mooncakes barely out of its packaging on the bed in front of them. Their faint fragrance recalled all the colourful old traditions in old streets, from a home far far away— a home he still saw in his eyes, his skin, but had only heard about in tales; a home neither he nor his Ma knew if they even still had.
“She worries so much about me.” Remus said, lost once more inside the same old storm fighting for the same old tune. Who was he. What was he?
“We’ve got you, Remus. I’ve got you.” Sirius said firmly. Anchor, Remus thought. “I swear someday we’ll prove it to your mum too. You’re okay with us.” Sirius held him tighter. “We’ll celebrate our own way later, you’ll see. It’s your festival, Moony, we’re throwing a party just for you.”

okay so.
i have seen a pattern lately and i am not gonna let it slide. i know that fancasts in general are a way bigger debate than they should be in this fandom, and i’ve loved the spike in diversity between them thats come up recently! i genuinely don’t care about fancasts or have any real faces in mind when i picture these characters, but if you like to, good on you.
here is where i have been very frustrated lately: some of y’all seem to really struggle understand that asian ethnicities are not interchangeable. its become a really popular (and very lovely!) hc to picture sirius and regulus as asian. i love to see it! but i have seen people throw together a korean and a vietnamese person and go: “ta-da! sirius and regulus!” i have seen them defend their choices to asian people by saying some variation of “it doesn’t matter” “they look similar enough” or even just straight-up “well, they’re both asian” and like. it makes my fucking blood boil.
it’s one thing if it’s an honest mistake. it is entirely another if an asian person calls you on it and you decide that it truly doesn’t matter to you.
i could get into the harm that the cross-race effect has, but really i just need to say that perpetuating the idea that all asians look the same is inherently problematic. if you are the kind of person to declare that you see no difference or that there is no difference between different asian ethnicities: you are promoting a long-standing racist ideology and i’m sick and fucking tired of seeing it.
i (again) genuinely do not care about fancasts. picture whenever you’d like as whomever you’d like! but the moment that you cross the line into “whatever they’re both close enough”, that is where i will take issue with it. if that’s an idea that you carry with you outside of fandom spaces: THAT is what the problem is.
japanese people, vietnamese people, chinese, korean, philippine, desi, north south east west fucking ALL OF US have deep and rich cultural backgrounds and distinct features that differentiate us and make us all beautifully unique.
it matters to people. it matters in characters. in the media. in life in general. don’t fucking erase that because you can’t differentiate. do not knowingly and willingly erase us.
either take the time to learn and recognize that or stay in your fucking lane.

Aggiornamento:
Tumblr media
No. Oh no.
Senza manco mezza spiegazione?
Madò se puzza di seconda stagione.
Che non guarderò.
A questo punto non se lo meritano.
Falling Into Your Smile
Tumblr media
Ecco perché ci siamo buttate su Falling Into Your Smile: ci serviva un drama leggero, simpatico e d'intrattenimento.
Tumblr media

Do you think Sirius had tattoos?
No I don’t.
I have never understood how he is supposed to have prison tattoos. Azkaban apparently doesn’t have basic dental care - yet someone is tattooing people. And these tattoos aren’t getting infected?
I have tattoos and even though they are tiny, I was always given a long lecture about aftercare each time.
I had a crack HC that a Dementor named Dave would give people really cringe and shit tattoos as a form of torture (like misspelled Chinese characters or that one time a person got Harlem Shake on their ankles).
Also Harry would definitely have noticed them.
