Come Home To Me
Pairing: Lando Norris x Long distance!Reader
Rating: PG
Warnings: None, just fluff, Lando cries
Words: 2.3K
Requested: Yes/No
Tumblr media
Long distance was always challenging. But what if you're dating someone who rarely stays in one place long enough. What if they're traveling from country to country every year, and when you can visit, he can't? Love is supposed to give its challenges, but this was a challenge you are losing, and this wasn't something you wanted to happen.
You have been dreaming of living in America for school, but you never once thought you'd meet a boy and fall in love with him, much less travel the world after him. Meeting him was a dream. You went to Dubai on vacation with your friend, a terrific wealthy heiress. It was after finals, and you were in a club, unaware of what was going on, much less than a trendy sport was in town for the end of the season.
When people flooded the club you were in, you danced and danced before stumbling to the bar. You proceeded to spill your drink all over this guy at the bar. He laughed, telling you it was okay. You couldn't ignore how he was so light-hearted and easygoing. Even covered in some alcoholic drink, he made you laugh and danced with you.
When your friend was ready to go, you waved bye, but he stopped you and grabbed a marker.
"Call me." Winking, he sends you off. Waking the following day, you don't remember much except those brilliant eyes, goofy laughter, and his curly hair. Looking at your arm, you smile, seeing what he had written on your arm. Lando, call me. With his number followed after it.
It took you almost a year to figure out who he was, as he never told you his last name. You honored that, as he did tell you he was famous and wanted you to know him, not the guy he shows off to the world. You found out who he was when your friend Vivian, who took you to Dubai, brought you to something called Formula 1.
Her father was a big wig in the sport and decided to give you two paddock passes and explore the city. Thankfully it was a break, and you walked around the fancy town of Monaco. Vivian has an apartment in the city and told you, you could stay with her.
"Honestly, Y/n, stop worrying about why the guy hasn't answered you. All you have told me is his name." Vivian whined as you just smiled at your phone. "Viv, he's famous, and I don't want to ruin anything." You explain, but she rolls her eyes, worried.
"Okay, come on, let's go. I'm starving." You agree and head to the private hospitality for the drivers, bosses, and those who are big names.
"Do you even know any of the drivers?" You ask Vivian, who shrugs as she is more into business, set to inherit her father's business when she graduates. "Nah, many of them have girlfriends, but there is one charming Ferrari driver." Both laughing, you walk into the air-conditioned building and head to a table.
"Hey, can we order a burger or something?" Viv looks up from her menu and nods. "Yeah, they can make things off the menu, but I agree this is all so fancy." Slapping the menu down, she takes a sip from her water.
Your phone pings, and you must fight Vivian off from grabbing your phone. Seeing the notification, you blush, as is it from Lando.
Lando: sorry, super busy for the next couple of days; I miss you; we should see FT real quick.
You: I wish I could. I have no privacy because I'm at some super-rich sport event for the weekend.
Lando: Really? What super-rich sport and where?
You: Oh, something called Formula One. I'm in Monaco
Read
You stare at your phone, wondering why he has left you on read, but you just shrug and place your phone down. Placing your order and talk with Vivian about your upcoming classes and her latest boy toy.
"Fuck, that's my Charming Ferrari driver and his friends." Vivian chokes on her water which has you turning. You don't know who she's talking about, but you notice a particular person wearing a bright orange sweatshirt. "Viv, the guy in the orange sweatshirt. See him?" You ask, facing her, trying to control your emotions. "Oh, yeah, Daddy told me about him. Lando Norris. Oh, he shares the same name as you-" She stops talking as you stare at one another.
"Holy fuck, no." She whispers, leaning closer. "Did you know?" She asks which has you slapping her arm. "Of course not!" You hiss, running your hands over your hair. "He never told me his last name, and every time he visited me at Uni, we met and did lowkey stuff." You whisper before you both freak and throw your menus up as Lando and 3 other people sit beside you.
"What do I tell her?" Lando sighs, fixing his hat to wear it backward as you and Vivian throw on your own hats and sunglasses so Lando wouldn't recognize you. "The truth." You hear a slap, and someone curse in Spanish.
"Oi! You lied to her, not me. Why are you slapping me?" "Because Carlos, we've been talking for almost a year, and I want to ask her out, but...what if she's mad I lied." Lando mummers. "Just call her, and tell her you are in Monaco too. Not that hard." The man named Carlos explains.
It's silent until your phone blares out the ringtone that Lando had set for you when you last saw him. You and Vivian try to turn the phone off with hurried hands, but it doesn't work.
"Y/n?" You screw your eyes shut and lower the menu locking eyes with Lando. You don't even think as you grab your bag and rush out, leaving Vivan behind, who yells after you, and Lando, who stands staring after you, the phone still pressed to his ear.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was 3 months of barely talking when Lando finally showed up at your apartment when Vivian opened the door with just a towel and messy hair. She about died when she called for you. "Hurt her again, or lie again. And I'll have my father destroy your career." She threatens as you come into view.
You looked how you felt, hurt and sad. You had no right to feel hurt, but you still did. Sad because your heart ached from barely talking to Lando, and he looked the same as you. Eyes red, hair messy, and just downright miserable.
"Can we talk?" You nod and point to the couch as Vivan hurries down the hall and closes her door, but she was totally listening. "I wanted to tell you, just never thought you'd show up at a race." He rushes out, ripping his hood off as you blink, trying not to cry.
"I have no right to be angry, Lando. You told me you wanted it to be a secret, just....maybe a part of me hated you couldn't tell me who you are." Lando nods as he swallows thickly and clears his throat. "I hated not talking to you. I've missed you like crazy. Watching you run and me not chase after you was....horrible." With a sigh, you wipe a tear and clear your own throat.
"I've missed you too. This not talking thing was painful, and I never should've ran. I was embarrassed, and your friends were all there. I panicked." Lando laughs slightly and rubs his hands down his face. "They've been giving me hell about that ever since. That's why I'm here. Go out with me?" You blink at him and then laugh.
"Yes, but right now, we tell each other everything. No more secrets." Lando nods and moves, sitting beside you as you spend the entire night talking.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Are you coming to visit soon?" Lando asks, voice sleepy as the time zone between the both of you was brutal. Didn't help he was traveling. "Lando, I have finals and then graduation. I can't." You sigh, walking through a sea of people trying to reach your area.
"Fuck. I hate this!" He curses, making you flinch at his tone. You both had this argument occasionally, as Lando wanted to move to Monaco with him while you were applying for your Masters's program. "Lando, calm down. I know you want me in Monaco, but we agreed that night that I would chase my degree and decide where to settle down." You reason making your boyfriend sigh heavily in your ear.
"I know. I know. But, I want you to come home to me. I hate not seeing you, touching you, just being next to you." You want to roll your eyes but can't help the smile tugging on your lips.
"Even if I moved to Monaco, you're traveling half the year anyways." This has Lando groaning as this was how the argument ended each time. "Okay, how was your day." You look up, hand over the paper to the woman before you, and continue as you find your seat and settle. "Fine. Hey, Lando. I've got to go. The class is about to start, so talk to you later. Bye!" You hang up before he can tell you he loves you and sighs, looking outside.
"Ma'am, the train is about to leave." You look up at the pretty woman who smiles and nods, ensuring your bag is secured. It would be a 4-hour train ride before you showed up to surprise Lando and give him the good news. "Thank you." The lady smiles and walks off, checking on the other passengers.
The ride was somewhat peaceful, but Lando kept trying to Facetime with you, but you didn't want to give away where you were. So you kept hitting ignore and then just decided to turn your phone off. When you hear the squeak of the wheels stopping, you look out and see the familiar buildings of Monaco and the ongoing construction. Gathering your bags, you shuffle off the train and into the warm sun, smiling.
Keeping your phone off, you start the walk to Lando's apartment. Max wouldn't be around, and he was in London visiting family, so it'd just be you and Lando. The walk was peaceful, as it was a break for Formula 1, so not many fans were wandering around the city. You type in the code and hope it doesn't alert Lando to you entering his building. Turning on your phone, you wait patiently for it to power up.
You giggle, seeing all the notifications from Lando, and click on his face as that familiar ringing tone fills the silent elevator.
"Are you mad at me?" Not a hello or hey baby, but him asking if you're mad at him. Sometimes you forget that while Lando is successful inside, he's still like any insecure 20-year-old trying to understand life. "No, Lan. I'm not mad. I just turned my phone off to get some work done." Lando sighs and then laughs and looks away and smiles. "Sorry guys, it's Y/n." That's when you notice his headphones are on, and he is most likely streaming.
"Are you streaming right now?" You ask, laughing as you get dropped off at his floor, walk to his door, and stop outside. "Yeah. Say hi!" He turns his phone as you wave, knowing people can barely see you in his camera. "Where are you right now? That doesn't look like your dorm." Turning the phone back around to face him. "Oh, I'm home." You smile and hit the doorbell, which you hear through his phone, and he turns around, confused.
"No. No, you are not." He drops his phone, and you hang up, waiting at the door. You laugh, hearing the pounding on his feet and the door thrown open. "Stop." He whispers and moves, crushing you in a hug as you drop your bags, hugging him back. "I'm home." You whisper into his neck.
You pull away and can't help but laugh, seeing Lando with tears in his eyes.
"Baby? Why are you crying?" Wiping his tears, he sniffles and hugs you tight, burying his face in your neck. "I've missed you. Fuck, you have no idea." His words are muffled by your neck as your hands tug his curls slightly, and fingers cradle his neck. "Well, I have some news." Lando pulls away and nods but helps you into his place.
"Give me a second." He whispers and kisses your cheek before going into his gaming room to turn off the stream. You get settled and sit on the couch, holding an envelope. Walking into the room, he stops and eyes the envelope.
"Are you pregnant?" You snort a laugh, shake your head no, and watch him sigh in relief. "I mean. If you were, I'd marry you here and now, but I'd like to wait before we have kids." He explains, but you just let him ramble. "Lando. Stop." He stops talking and stares at you, unsure how he should act. "Just open it." Placing it in his hands, he flips it around and carefully peels it open.
"Y/n L/n, we are please to welcome you to the school of Paris International Affairs and-" He stops and takes a deep breath trying hard to not cry again. "And can't wait to welcome you in the fall." He stops and looks up at you.
"I'm moving to Paris. So, I'm a 4 hours train ride instead of flying. I graduated early, so....." You smile, and he laughs, leaning over and kissing you. "So, you have the rest of spring and summer to be here with me." You shake your head in agreement which has him tearing up again.
"You're home." He whispers and pulls you into him, holding you like you'd disappear. "I'm home."

Heartfirst: A Ted Lasso Story - Chapter Two
Tumblr media
Chapter Two: Part of the Team
Plot: On her first day working for KJPR, Y/n tours AFC Richmond’s facility and meets some of the staff.
Warnings: language, use of f!reader, (16+)
Word Count: 3.9k
A/N: Well, first off, thank you for the lovely response! I certainly didn’t endeavor to write anything for Ted Lasso (I was actually going to take a writing break) but this idea seemed good enough to indulge.
This has been added to the taglist in my bio, so don’t be afraid to click it and add yourself. It will be kept 16+ just for language and the show’s subject matter so I won’t be adding anyone unless your age/range is specified in your bio.
All that being said, I hope this nurses a little bit of your finale hangover. No Greyhounds to be found in this chapter, but a wild Ted does appear. Writing for him is going to be a hilarious exercise for me lol. Enjoy!!
—————————
Wanting to be prepared, Y/n had started doing research on AFC Richmond the morning after accepting Keeley’s job offer.
The slight buzz she’d managed at the bar had blocked from her memory that she knew more about Rebecca Welton than she thought. Years before, she’d seen her face splashed across all the tabloids at news stands and markets talking about her divorce from…for the life of her, Y/n couldn’t remember the man’s name. All she remembered is there’d been perfect pictures of him and his various models of the months, while the cameras always managed to catch Rebecca with a sour look on her face. Y/n remembered feeling like she could read the whole situation without without ever perusing a filthy word.
As she studied, Y/n put together that Richmond consisted of three coaches. The manager, Ted Lasso, was a name the whole country knew, regardless of whether you watched football or not. It wasn’t Y/n’s place to judge, but she assumed if he was still around, there was a reason. He’d brought along an assistant coach from the states with him, along with Roy Kent joining their staff the previous season. Another name she didn’t need to bother to learn as it was already burned in every Brit’s brain. There also seemed to be a scandal with a previous coach, Nathan Shelley, having abandoned Richmond for West Ham United as Richmond reentered the Premier League.
Having gone to school in London and staying after, Y/n had gone to plenty of football matches with friends. Much like American sports, she’d never been as interested as those surrounding her, but she enjoyed the atmosphere. However, she pulled up highlights of old Richmond matches on Youtube and studied them to try and get a feel for the players. Two in particular stood out to her.
Sam Obisanya caught her attention for his raw talent, the graceful way he managed to move in such a brutal sport. She’d also seen the way he handled himself in press conferences, always soft and well spoken. He’d been fearless in his defense of Nigeria, his home country, and against Dubai Air and Cerithium Oil. She had mad respect for him and his bravery.
Then there was Jamie Tartt. Going through videos of his stints at Richmond left Y/n puzzled. He seemed to have started out the cocky striker, too busy kissing his own foot to realize there were twenty more on the pitch waiting to shine. He never passed. He never assisted. It was all him. But then, after his swift departure and return to the team, his playing style shifted. Suddenly, he did pass. He did assist. A few months difference and it was practically night and day.
Y/n sighed as she shut her laptop, having just finished the video of him letting Dani Rojas take the penalty goal that secured Richmond’s return to the Premier League. She hoped Jamie Tartt, and all other Greyhounds, wouldn’t be a PR headache.
The night before she officially started at KJPR, Y/n found herself nervous. It seemed like too ideal of a situation to meet someone at a bar and be offered a job right after losing yours. She felt hesitant to trust that when she walked into Keeley’s office, she wouldn’t find a complete nightmare. She went to sleep with a clenched jaw and stiff shoulders, praying that this wouldn’t be another loss to face.
—————————
Y/n pulled up to the KJPR office building at 8:55. She adjusted her carefully ironed pants, smoothed down her blouse and blazer and took a deep breath. Her capabilities were the one place her insecurities had no place living. She was good at what she did, she just needed a place to do it.
When the elevator doors opened, she was surprised to find a small office with multiple occupied desks set up. Keeley had made it sound much smaller than it actually was.
“Y/n!”
A familiar voice exclaimed and Y/n peered across the room to see Keeley rushing out from behind her desk and bursting out her office door.
“I’m so glad you showed,” she grinned as she scurried to Y/n and took hold of her hands.
“You offered me a job and you thought I wasn’t going to show up?” Y/n asked with a confused chuckle.
“I mean, to be fair, I offered it to you in a restaurant after, like, a glass and a half of wine,” Keeley replied, “I’m not sure I’d have believed me either.”
Y/n laughed a little, very aware that all her fellow employees were not only watching the unprofessional display, but hearing the story of her even more unprofessional hiring.
“Should we…” Y/n gestured towards Keeley’s office.
“Oh, right,” Keeley practically shouted, leading Y/n back and through the door.
True to the little Y/n knew about the woman, Keeley’s office was head to toe…Keeley. Pink everything, floral patterns, a ceramic jungle cat in the corner…it was, most definitely, the most unique of any boss’s office Y/n had ever entered.
“Right,” Keeley said as she took a seat on the couch in the corner, leaving a spot for Y/n, “Let’s get to it.”
Y/n settled onto the couch, leaving a fair amount of space that Keeley immediately cut in half.
“So I know you said that you’ve been more of a manager lately, but that you’re good with PR,” Keeley recounted, “What did you do for you last companies?”
“Oh, I floated around a lot,” Y/n began to mentally run through her old positions, “I managed small teams under a much larger umbrella of board members. Minor stuff. But in the public relations department, I’ve been in charge of social media campaigns, run a few accounts, and handled plenty of press conferences, interviews, that sort of thing.”
Keeley’s smile grew with each task that Y/n listed off. “I think you might be the most perfect fucking fit!”
Language, another unprofessionalism Y/n felt she was going to have to get used to.
“Before all of this happened,” Keeley gestured to the frilly space around them, “I did full time PR for AFC Richmond and did all that kind of stuff. That’s actually where I wanted to potentially start you off.”
Y/n shrugged, silently grateful she’d gone the extra mile with her research, “I’ll go anywhere you need me.”
“Perfect,” Keeley grinned, already getting off the couch, “I was actually heading over there for a meeting with Rebecca. It’d be a great opportunity to show you around and introduce you to some of the staff.”
“Uh, sure,” Y/n quickly picked her purse back off the floor.
“I really think you’re gonna love it there,” Keeley continued, collecting her bag and a pink binder, “I feel bad I’m not there full-time anymore. It really is one of the best places to work.”
As Keeley spoke, Y/n followed her out of the office. She struggled to keep up with how fast Keeley managed to move in her high heels. As they waited for the elevator to arrive, a brunette woman passed them by.
“Oh, Barbara,” Keeley called out, “I want you to meet the newest member of KJPR. This is Y/n.”
Barbara looked Y/n over from top to bottom as if inspecting the latest crop. Y/n’s confidence in her extended hand began to drop under the pair of judging eyes.
“Pleasure to meet you, Y/n,” Barbara seemed to shake her hand with caution before turning to Keeley, “You didn’t mention anything about bringing on a new hire, Miss Jones.”
Keeley visibly shrank at Barbara’s words, “It was a spur of the moment thing.”
“Ah,” Barbara replied, turning back to Y/n, “May I ask what, if any, experience you have?”
Looking between Barbara and Keeley, Y/n listed off the positions she’d previously held and the companies names. With each title, Barbara’s frown turned into…something between a smile and a frown.
“Ah, well,” Barbara took a breath, “Lovely. Welcome to KJPR.”
With one more firm shake of her hand, Barbara departed, off to whatever task needed her attention. Keeley and Y/n were left in an awkward silence not of their creation.
“We’re still getting to know one another,” Keeley explained with a nervous smile.
“I got that,” Y/n nodded.
“Right,” Keeley shifted gears and gestured towards the elevator, “Let’s go. I’ll drive.”
—————————
Richmond wasn’t far from the heart of London, where Y/n had spent most of her time. Functioning nearly exclusively within the corporate world had kept her within a bubble that rarely gave her opportunities to venture outside its walls.
As Keeley drove them through Richmond, making pleasant small talk, Y/n’s eyes were transfixed on the sights. Nothing was particularly extraordinary looking, but compared to the grays and blacks of London office buildings, the place was like a daydream someone like her might create during their 9-5.
“Do you live near here?”
“Hmm?” Y/n snapped out of her thoughts, “Oh, I’m about 30 minutes away. But I’ve never really spent any time here.”
“Oh, it’s lovely,” Keeley replied, turning them down another road, “You should take some time this weekend to roam around.”
Y/n filed the idea away, first she needed to confirm that AFC Richmond was the right fit.
Soon enough, Keeley pulled them into the parking lot of Nelson Road Stadium. Y/n recalled that she’d been there once to see a match with friends in college, but that had been on the spectator side. Parking mere feet away from the pitch felt surreal, even for a non-football fan.
“I’m gonna take you up to Rebecca first,” Keeley said as she shut her car door, “None of the players or coaches’ll be here since they’re still on break.”
Y/n followed alongside her, entering the stadium through the side doors. The inside of the building was painted in team colors of blue and red. Along the walls, there were trophies and framed pictures showcasing the Greyhound’s accomplishments over the decades. The history of the club was something Y/n had yet to do research on, but even ten minutes spent in the halls would tell her more than Wikipedia probably could.
Keeley led them up two flights of stairs till the colors of the walls changed to neutrals. The door at the top of the steps hung open, but Keeley still gave a courteous knock.
Rebecca looked up from her desk, smiling when she recognized the two guests. “Good morning,” she said, cheerily.
“Hi, babe,” Keeley smiled, “I brought Y/n with today. Thought it might be good for her to tour the place.”
“Of course,” Rebecca rose from her chair and met Keeley and Y/n in the middle of the room. She brought Y/n in for a half hug, half handshake, “I’m absolutely thrilled you’re here.”
“Oh,” Y/n smiled, awkwardly accepting the greeting, “I’m…pleased to be here.”
“Right,” Rebecca released her and gestured for the women towards the couch, “I’m not sure what Keeley has planned for you, but we’re never without work here.”
Before Y/n could voice her neutrality, Keeley spoke up.
“Actually, that’s what I wanted to talk to you about,” she began, “I’d really like to have another pair of hands on the club, just in case there’s anything I might miss,” Keeley turned to Y/n, “I’d love to put you exclusively on Richmond duty.”
“Like I said, I’ll go where I’m needed,” Y/n raised both her hands in surrender to their plans.
Rebecca exhaled and grinned, “Perfect. Like I said, there’s never a shortage of work. With this being our first season back in the Premier League, there’s plenty of press to be handled.”
“I’m happy to go wherever I’m needed,” Y/n restated, deciding it was best to just go with the flow of things.
A knock at the door turned their attention.
“Good morning, ladies,” a shorter man sporting a suit and glasses entered the room.
“Higgins,” Keeley greeted.
“Good morning, Leslie,” Rebecca smiled, “I’d like you to meet KJPR, and Richmond’s, newest addition, Ms. Y/n Y/l/n. Leslie is our director of football operations.”
“Ah,” Higgins nodded, coming to the couch to extend his hand, “Welcome to the team, Ms. Y/l/n.”
“Lovely to meet you,” Y/n said politely, shaking his hand before sitting back down.
“Y/n will be helping Keeley handle the PR department,” Rebecca further explained, before her train of thought visibly halted, “Hang on…” she looked to Keeley, “Your old office is still vacant.”
Keeley gasped, “It is.”
Y/n’s eyes bounced back and forth between the woman.
“If Keeley can spare your presence at the KJPR office,” Rebecca placed a hand on her best friend’s arm, “How would you feel about working here?”
Searching for her words as quick as she could, Y/n shrugged one shoulder. “I’m completely fine with that,” she looked to her boss, “If Keeley’s alright with it.”
“Abso-fucking-lutely,” Keeley smiled, “I’d actually love it if we had feet on the ground here.”
Y/n blinked. Just like that, everything was settled.
“Excellent,” Rebecca clapped her hands together once, “Shall we go for a tour?”
“Ah, that was going to be my suggestion,” Higgins spoke back up.
Never before had Y/n been swept up so quickly in a job. Nothing moved that fast in the corporate world.
Keeley, Rebecca and Higgins led her back down to the main floor of the facility. Higgins and Rebecca spouted off a few historical facts about Richmond that Y/n logged away. Rebecca reiterated Keeley’s earlier statement that since they were still on break, Y/n wouldn’t be meeting the players and the coaching staff until training began the following week. Nonetheless, Y/n felt like she was somehow encroaching on the Greyhound’s territory as the tour led to the locker room.
“This will be the only time you enter and the smell is pleasant,” Rebecca quipped.
Y/n chuckled, her heels clicking against the floor as she scanned the numbers above each locker.
“Any favorites amongst our Greyhounds?” Higgins asked playfully.
“Oh, no,” Y/n paused to answer, just below Jamie Tartt’s ‘9.’
“Y/n has openly admitted to not having partaken in much of the sport,” Rebecca added.
“But I’m very excited to make Richmond my club,” Y/n was quick to do damage control over what her tipsier self had admitted, “I think what you all have accomplished here is brilliant.”
The sound of a door opening on the other side of the locker room turned their heads. A man jogged into the coach’s office, bending over one of the desks in search of something.
“That’s odd,” Rebecca muttered, stepping forward and opening up the connecting door, “Ted, what are you doing here?”
Y/n followed Keeley and Higgins’ lead and entered the room. She could finally get a clear view at the man who was, indeed, Ted Lasso.
“Oh, last time he was visiting, Henry left somethin’ in my desk and we needed to come grab it,” Ted answered, searching through one of his drawers until he retrieved whatever he was seeking.
“Ah, well, lovely timing,” Rebecca gestured for Y/n to come forward, “You can meet the newest addition to AFC Richmond. This is Ms. Y/n Y/l/n. She’ll be helping Keeley head up the PR department.”
Ted gave a friendly smile and stuck out his hand, “Well, how ‘bout that? Welcome to the family! I’m Ted.”
Y/n gave a firm handshake and returned the smile, “Y/n.”
The simple utterence of her name caught Ted’s ear. “Hang on now,” he stopped and held up both his hands, “Am I dreamin’ or do I actually hear a lack of accent?”
The five of them laughed to varying degrees. “It’s nice to hear a little bit of home for me as well,” Y/n said warmly. It had been at least four months since she’d met someone who hailed from the states that wasn’t a tourist.
“Well, I’ll tell you,” Ted continued, still shaking Y/n’s hand, “It’s gonna be real nice to have someone around here who’ll understand what I’m sayin’. Like if I text the word ‘color,’ nobody’s gonna tell me it ain’t the right spelling. Or if I mention Chick-Fil-A, they won’t think I’m just shortenin’ the name of a delicious entree. Matter a fact,” Ted came up for a lightning quick breath, “Where we at with that? Is it still okay to eat there? Waters were a little murky ‘round the time I left.
Y/n was trying to process the speed in which the man spoke. “Uh, I don’t know,” she answered politely, “I haven’t been home in a while.”
Ted hummed in reply and moved on, “Well, we’re real happy that you’re here. Hey, you need anything, don’t be afraid to gimme a holler.”
“That’s very kind,” Y/n nodded as Ted finally released her hand, “Thank you.”
“Well, I gotta run,” Ted announced to his co-workers, “I got Liam out there watchin’ Henry. See y’all next week!”
With a chorus of farewells following him, Ted Lasso walked back out the way he’d come.
“Well,” Y/n began, trying to sum up her first impression as tidily as she could, “That was-“
“I felt the same way at first,” Rebecca interjected, “But truly, one of the nicest human beings you will ever meet.”
“Oh, yeah,” Keeley agreed, sweeping her hand through the air, “Seriously, spend one day with him and he’ll be your emergency contact by lunch.”
“The players love him,” Higgins added to their defense.
But it wasn’t Ted’s personality Y/n was startled by. Ted was the midwest personified, that was all familiar. It was the speed in which Ted had offered up his kindness, how at ease he was voicing every thought on his mind. That, to Y/n, was more disarming than anything else he could have done.
“Well, I look forward to getting to know him more,” Y/n said, and there was truth to it. She appreciated co-workers who were actually pleasant to be around, even if Ted was a lot to take, “And the other coaches.”
“Why don’t I show you where your office is?” Rebecca suggested.
Their welcome wagon moved up to the second floor where, at the end of the hall, lay the space in question. It was half the size of Rebecca’s office, which was more than enough for Y/n. She’d last been in a shared cubicle far too small for two people to comfortably fit.
“My office is just at the end of the hall,” Higgins said as Y/n took in the space, “If you ever need anything.”
“It’s lovely,” Y/n smiled, her eyes running over her desk. She turned back towards the door and faced Rebecca, Keeley and Higgins, “Thank you all so much for all the hospitality you’ve shown.”
“Nonsense,” Higgins spoke for the trio, “You’re part of the family now.”
The same unease that had come from interacting with Ted Lasso filled Y/n once again.
The rest of the day was spent bouncing between Keeley and Higgins, discussing PR strategies for the new season and learning about the club’s operations. By the time 5:00 came around, Y/n felt like she had information spilling out of her ears. Her mind was filled to its brim.
After Keeley dropped her back off at the KJPR office, telling her she dazzled on her first day and wishing her a good evening, Y/n hopped in her car and drove right back to Richmond. She had no dinner plans and thought Keeley’s idea to explore the city worthwhile.
She decided on the pub they’d driven past on their way to Nelson Road, the Crown and Anchor. With it being a weeknight, it wasn’t too crowded, and she found a spot at the bar, ordering a sandwich for herself.
“I haven’t seen you here before,” the woman tending bar said after Y/n had placed her order, “You new to town, love?”
“Oh, no,” Y/n shook her head before scrunching her eyebrows, “Well, sort of. I live closer to the city but I just started a job here.”
“Ah,” the white haired woman replied as she filled a pint, handing it to a customer, “Where at?”
Y/n wasn’t entirely sure what the rules were about working for a football club. Were you supposed to go around sharing that information? Or did it mean you’d have thirty drunken fans hounding you for tickets suddenly?
“AFC Richmond,” she answered truthfully, “Public relations.”
The woman’s eyebrows raised an inch, seemingly impressed. “Well, that’s the right answer to get your meal on the house.”
Y/n laughed a little, relaxing slightly.
“Good first day then?”
“Yeah, I guess,” Y/n bobbed her head from side to side, “I mean, I really just met co-workers and learned the basics. No complaints so far.”
“Did you meet Ted yet?”
“I did,” Y/n answered, slightly confused, “You know Coach Lasso?”
The woman pointed towards the pub doors, “Lives on just the other side of the building. Comes in a couple nights a week. He’s a good man.”
“That he is,” Y/n nodded, not wanting to tarnish anyone’s reputation with her own discomforts, “Definitely tries to make you feel welcome.”
“Oh,” the woman was now coming to lean against Y/n’s side of the bar, “He won’t stop until you know you’re welcomed. Best to just let it happen. Whatever he’s done to Richmond, it works.”
It hadn’t escaped Y/n’s notice that in the two seasons Ted Lasso had been coaching the Greyhounds, there was a shift in…everything. Between videos of the players on the pitch, to little stories interspersed in her conversations with Rebecca, Keeley and Higgins throughout the day, Y/n was given the impression that Ted Lasso was a miracle worker. It didn’t take much thought to deduce that Ted was going to try and integrate her into their team as well.
“Well,” Y/n shrugged slightly, seeing that her sandwich was coming around from the kitchen, “I mean, it’s just a job. It’s not supposed to change your life or anything.”
Just as she was about to be handed her meal, the white haired woman took it from the waiter’s hands. Y/n could tell she wasn’t getting her food until the bartender had spoken her piece.
“You just watch out, love,” the woman warned with a smile, “Whole city hated Ted when he arrived, and now take a look.”
She gestured to the space around the bar as if Y/n was supposed to be seeing the peace.
“The best things that happen to us are usually the most unexpected,” she continued, giving her a wink.
Y/n drew a breath, locking onto the woman’s every syllable.
“You’re part of Richmond now,” the woman continued on, “Whether it changes your life or not isn’t up to you.”
Without another word, the woman set Y/n’s sandwich in front of her and went off to tend to another patron.
Y/n was fearful to move, lest the bartender’s words appear in thin air and smack her thoughts into line. What was this strange hold the word ‘Richmond’ seemed to have on people? Y/n had lived long enough in England to know how passionate people got about their football clubs, but this was different. This was dedication separate from the sport itself, rather devotion to the inner workings. To the coaches. To the heart of AFC Richmond itself.
Higgin’s words came back to her, part of the family. It all filled Y/n with an anxiety she’d never quite been able to put a name to.
Regardless of what the culture was, on and off the pitch, she was determined to keep to herself. Interact pleasantly with her co-workers and the team, but no more than necessary. Be proficient at the tasks given to her. Stay in her lane.
Family or not, Y/n decided as she bit into her dinner, she was there to do a job and nothing more.

I got into the void using your challenge: live update
Day 1:
I said isn’t it wonderful once every hour: everytime I felt doubt I reminded myself isn’t it wonderful and the doubt went away. It kept me in very good mood and my desires did feel closer to me more than ever
Day 2:
Like the challenge said I started my day with Isn't it wonderful that I love and accept my godly ability to choose my reality, and I said that once and mediated on my limited beliefs to and tried to question why I should have them when I am god. I felt like a new person
I manifested so many things. Free coffee’, a cute man asking for my number, so many compliments from strangers which rarely happens, and not being late to class even though I’m always late. I was already becoming my dream self I envision after the void
I have a good vision board I was using for my visuals. Everytime something reminded me of my 3D, I stared at it on my phone to remind myself of the life I am living so why am I concerned, and I repeated isn’t it wonderful to remind myself of my wonderful life, it worked like a charm pun intended
It is night time so I am going to listen to the third video you recommended.
Tomorrow I will write about how grateful I am for all my desires that have manifested and meditate on the phrase it is done. My dream life is already here even if not in the 3D yet I have already become my imagination and I’m excited to fulfill my desires on the fourth day and I will message you my success story.
Day 3:
Today is my last day and I am already fulfilled. It really is wonderful. This morning I got up at 3 am (Happy Aïdd) and prayed on all the things I am grateful for. I went to sleep and woke up again. And journaled about all the wonderful things I have. My wealth, my beauty, my kind heart, the wonderful celebration in my beautiful house I am having with my family, my wonderful fiancé, mastery of the void state, the millions dollars of income I have flowing in my bank account yearly, my healthsafety and protection from god, all things that will be fulfilled the next time I close my eyes and open it. Then I wrote all my goals for the rest of the year, business plans, school plans, wedding plans, trip plans etc etc. this is a normal thing for me. All I could think is it is done this is my life MashaAllah
Update:
I was not planning into going to the void until after I went to bed. But I took a nap and woke up in the void thank you so much for this wonderful challenge
I woke up from my nap in a room I did not recognize I feared I had died, but it is here. I am not shocked or surprised, I don’t know how when I cried for this to happen for months but I have been fulfilled since the first day of the challenge so thank you dear 🙏
A shortened version of my desires
Living a luxurious life in Dubai
Living with all my family members in a 12 bedroom mansion in Dubai
Many house help who are treated with love and kindness and paid well
Loyal wealthy loving and god fearing handsome fiancé whom my family approve of
Attending zayned university
Hourglass body, and 36 inches of long healthy hair that never gets matted
Misgyony free household
10/10 beauty
Long natural nails that never break
High IQ that is respected
A white phantom rolls-Royce as my car
And a lot more 🙏 thank you to Loa tumblr and god himself. I pray all of this for you kind dearing souls
Another update
Tomorrow we throw a celebration and none of my family knows I did this, it is like we have always been rich and happy when we were poor and torn apart. I decorate and set up with my sisters, my mother is cooking 30 dishes, and my father for once is helping her clean up. He now worships here rather than abuses her. I am already getting many gifts, purses and jewelry I could only see in my dreams. My closet is very large the size of my old apartment 😂😂 I have hundreds of shoes and even more clothes and purses. I am in awe and greatful 🥰
Happy Aïdd😭😭🎉🎉💕 the fact that you got your desires on this wonderful day makes me so happy !!! You honestly did the challenge in more depth than I gave and it worked out so beautifully I am beyond happy for you beautiful anon 😭🫶🫶

What's going on in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem? a timeline
Background
700s-1920s: Armenian Christians immigrate to Palestine, at first due to the holy sites there and later (after 1915) fleeing the Armenian genocide. Most of them end up living in a section of Jerusalem known as the Armenian Quarter. An Armenian church / Patriarchate is established that has authority over Armenian Apostolic Christians everywhere.
1923-1947: Britain (who had been given the "mandate," aka direct governmental control, of Palestine by other European colonial powers), empowers Patriarchates in Jerusalem (church leadership) to do things like select their own leaders and sell land without oversight from their communities. This gives Britain more authority and prevents regular Palestinian people from knowing what's going on when it comes to church business including secret real estate deals.
2005-2019: Land in Jerusalem belonging to the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate is sliced up, sold, and developed despite attempts to fight it in Israeli courts.
July 2021: The Armenian Patriarchate makes a deal leasing 2.7 acres of land to real estate / development company Xana Gardens (based in Dubai and owned by Israeli businessman Danny Rothman) for between 49 and 98 years. The deal is made without proper oversight and approval, including from within the Patriarchate.
The land in question includes the historical Cows' Garden (Hadiqa al-Baqar / حديقة البقر), now a parking lot; part of a church school; a garden; and five family houses. It makes up about 1/4 of the total land in the Armenian Quarter. No one knows that more than just Cows' Garden is affected.
Xana Gardens wants to build a luxury hotel on some of this land, including Cow's Garden.
Events in 2023
May: Details of the nature of the real estate deal come out. The government of Jordan (I think? these news reports are written in the passive voice) and Armenian institutions try to contact the Patriarchate to express concern about the handling of historically significant sites. The Patriarch does not respond.
11 May: Jordan and Palestine suspend their recognition of Patriarch Nourhan Manougian.
26 October: The Patriarchate announces that it has contacted Xana Gardens to cancel the deal. Xana Gardens does not respond.
Later on 26 October (around 3pm): Israeli bulldozers arrive at Cows' Garden and start tearing up pavement and demolishing a wall. Armenians rush to stand in front of bulldozers and prevent further destruction.
5 November: Rothman and other representatives of Xana Gardens arrive with 15 settlers and tell local Armenians that the land is theirs and they need to leave. Some of the settlers have guns and leashed dogs. About 200 Armenian Palestinians arrive and force the settlers to stand down.
12 and 13 November: Xana Gardens sends bulldozers to Cows' Garden. They do not have necessary permits. Armenians set up constantly rotating vigils at the Gardens and make barricades with pieces of metal and their cars.
15 November, 4:30pm: Israeli settlers drive a convoy of cars into the Garden. Armenians gather around the barricades. The police back the settlers and arrest three Armenians, including one child.
28th December: 30+ settlers attack a group of Armenian bishops, priests, deacons, and seminary students (including Bishop Koryoun Baghdasaryan, the director of the Patriarchate's real estate department) with sticks and nerve agents / tear gas, injuring several.
28th December, later: The Patriarchate releases a statement attributing the attack to Xana Gardens. The development company does not want the Patriarchate to continue trying to reverse the deal through the court system.

Ruben Dias x Reader - Fake Love Part 4/8
⚠️ Warning ⚠️
18+
Tumblr media
Reader is a kindergarten teacher. Nothing more nothing less. But following an accident whistle vacation in Dubai she somehow makes her boyfriend believe that she does somthing else for a living, something that earns her way more money than she has. Her boyfriend, Ruben, is just happy to have found someone who understands him so well, someone who doesn't want him for his money since money isn't an issue for neither reader or himself. Or so thinks. Would finding out the truth ruin their newfound relationship? Readers thinks so, and does everything to keep up the lie, although it has some bad people from the middle east looking for her.
Enjoy!
"Taxi!"
You called for one outside of the airport in London. You were tired from the journey and longed for a hot shower back at your apartment.
"Taxi!" You shouted, quite desperate for one to pull up.
"Y/N, chill." Alicia said. "Our ride will be here in a minute."
"Our ride?" You frowned.
Alicia nodded, phone still pressed to her ear. "I'm consulting the Siddiq family right now, see if they can send us a...."
Alicia's eyes widened with terror as you lunged for her phone, forcing her to hang up.
"Whatta fuck Y/N!"
"Are you crazy?" You hissed
"Am I crazy, are you crazy Y/N? Give me back my phone for fuck sakes."
You held her phone behind your back, refusing to return it. "Alicia we are not doing this. We can not continue spending somone elses money. It has to end. Right now."
"Why? They owe us don't they?"
"No Alicia, they owe us nothing, especially not you." It was not her leg that grilled in the fire. "The Siddiq family has shown us enough kindness then we deserve, this will not go on any longer, agreed?"
She didn't agree. However, she could tell how serious you were about this. "Fine." She said, stretching out a hand, demanding her phone back.
"Who are you gonna call?"
"Well, it's not Ghostbusters, is it? I'm calling a taxi."
You handed her back the phone, a sly smile on your face.
The days passed quickly there on, like your time in Portugal never happened. The burn on your leg healed but roughly, the skin not as smooth on that part of your leg. The only times it bothered you was when you got out of the shower, standing naked in front of the bathroom mirror. However, no one was gonna see you naked, at least not for some time. Yes, you felt guilty for giving Ruben a fake number, but you held your ground when it came to not live off of some rich business man in Dubai. It was the only reason Ruben was interested in you in the first place, because he thought you were rich like him. But no more lies. Meeting Ruben was a lie and even though falling for him felt real it was built on a lie and no relationship could ever flourish from somthing like that, right?"
"Miss?"
"Miss?"
"Yes, Simon?"
You snapped out of your daydreams, peering over your desk to see one of your kindergarten students with a pen up their nose."
"It's stuck." He said.
You sighed, rising from behind your desk. "Let's go to the nurses office shall we?"
"Okay."
You had one of your colleagues come in and cover for you whilst you escorted Simon to the school nurse. Yes, your life was really back to it's glamorous self.
"Hey, Y/N? Need a lift?"
It was Byron, seen crossing the school parking lot to get to you. You were really not in the mood, still adjusting being back to work. All you wanted to do was go home and lay in your bath.
"Sure Byron, why not."
He was considered a friend, although you know he never really got over your brief hook up in university.
"The kids are glad to have you back."
"Oh, thanks Byron. That's nice of you to say."
He drove you home the long way, avoiding the highway that would only take you ten minutes to arrive.
"Not only the kids." He added. "I missed you too."
Your smile was stiff, but at least it was something.
"When Nina told me what happened to you in Dubai I got so worried that I had to take a day off just to calm myself down, not to worry the kids that their teacher wasn't coming back to work."
"That sweet of you Byron. But it wasn't a serious thrid degree burn, my skin heald pretty quickly." Your boss Nina made it seemed like you lost a limb or something. Mainly because Alicia's dramatic Tik Tok's had people assuming the worst. Even your parents called you in concern after your brothers came across one of Alicia's vlogs from the hospital in Dubai.
"Well, I'm just glad you're back."
"Thanks Byron."
He was a sweet guy, not relationship sweet, but a descent human being sweet. You appreciate how much he cared for you as a friend.
"I have no problems giving you a ride to and from work, I mean we're basically on the same schedule."
"Thanks Byron, but I don't think that will be necessary."
Alot of people had offered to help you out,  even your boss suggested you'd cut back on your hours a work, however, it wasn't necessary. You needed something to take your mind off things. With things you meat, your agonizing thoughts of what could have been between you and Ruben.
Arriving home, you grabbed yourself a light snack from the fridge whilst waiting for your hot tub to fill with water. Once it did you, stripped yourself of your clothes, slipping I to the scolding water, allowing the heat to relax your muscles. You did not stay relaxed for long though, seeing as there was an incoming facetime call from your phone. "What?" You grunted, since now was not the time to hear about the latest gossip at Alicia's workplace.
"Hey, gorgeous,"
You stiffened at the sound of his voice.
"Ruben?"
You were looking into the screen of your phone, in disbelief of who was staring back at you. It was Ruben, with his hair sprouting in every direction as he looked to lay back in a bed, one arm draped behind his neck. "Um...hi." You stuttered, not really sure how any of this was possible.
Ruben smiled "I just wanted to see how you're doing and see if you're missing me as much as I'm missing you."
"Um, how...?"
"Did I get your real number?" He chuckled.
Heat rose to your face.
"Well, after calling "your number" over a hundred times, Fabio let me get in touch with your friend who told me what was going on."
"Alicia gave you this number?"
"Mhm." He nodded, tossing what looked to be a grape, into his mouth. "She told me that you thought that I wasn't that into you, that perhaps I was only out to screw you over or something."
"She did what?"
"It's ridiculous, I agree. How do you even come up with something like that? I mean you're the one who screwed me over by letting me call a fake number like an idiot."
There was a jab in your stomach as his tone was serious, laced with sincere hurt. "Ruben I'm so sorry. I didn't..."
"Let's not play the blame game." He waved. "Your friend made it clear that you haven't been dating for a while and that your game might be a bit stiff."
"Pardon?"
Ruben laughed.
"I am not stiff."
"I believe you." He said, although he had trouble talking between laughs. "I mean you look pretty relaxed in that bathtub back there."
You gasped when you realized. "Oh my god. Ruben I'm...." Embarrassed. You were terrible embaresssed, sinking deeper into the water to cover yourself. You and Ruben hadn't talked for days and the first thing he sees is you slipping him a nipple.
"It's okay, Y/N, really. The view is great from here."
"Oh shut up."
You put the phone away, letting Ruben have a good view of your bathroom ceiling. The tub needed more water, and bubbles, lots of of bubbles.
"There you are." He exclaimed, once you returned to the screen, now neck deep in in the water. "Thought I lost you for a sec."
"Ruben, maybe now is not the time." You said, tormentented by how stupid you must come across to him.
"Y/N." He said, his voice now restrained.
"What?" You muttered, trying to stare at anything but the screen.
"Look at me."
Your eyes looked up, meeting Ruben's kind gaze.
"You're good, okay. Sorry if I made you feel uncomfortable by calling unexpectedly. I just...." He sighed, a hand running through his already messy hair. "I can't seem to get you out of my mind."
You sunk deeper into the water,  biting down on your lip. "Me too. I can't stop thinking about you either."
"Well, when can we meet?" He seemed excited that your feelings were mutual.
"Ruben, I'm not sure I'll be going back to Portugal anytime soon. I mean I have a job to do and..."
"Y/N." He said. No. Chuckled.
"What's so funny?" You frowned
"You really don't watch football do you?"
"What do you mean?"
Ruben sat up in bed, showing off the tracksuit he was wearing. "You said you've heard of Manchester United, no?"
"Yes, the English team that you told me played in the Premier League."
"Right. Well I play for their arche rivals Manchester City, meaning I live in Manchester, England."
"Wait what?"
"Yeah."
"So, you're not from Portugal?"
He chuckled. "I'm from Portugal Y/N, I was born and raise there. But just like you I was just on vacation. I got back to Manchester yesterday."
"So what you're saying is that we're both in England as we speak?"
"Yes. And my team has fixtures in London all the time, meaning I'll be able to come see you between games."
"Right."
The problem was that you had once again lied to Ruben when he asked you were in England you lived. You figured London sounded more suitable abode for a business woman, not Chells Way, Stevenage.
"Y/N, you alright?"
The downside about facetime was that your emotions were all on display. Ruben clearly caught your reaction to his offer and it was not what he had expected.
"Of course, there is no pressure for us to meet." He said, clearing his throat. "I just thought, that it was something that we both wanted."
"I want to meet." You nodded, although your voice betrayed you. "I just...my job, you know?" It was another lie. You were piling lie upon lie on this fake love of yours. Nevertheless, Ruben ate it all up, nodding understandingly. "I get it."
He was so kind. He didn't deserve this from you, from anyone.
"Ruben?" You whispered, following a moment spent in silence.
"Yes."
"I really missed you."
A muscle jerked in the corner of his lips. "I missed you too."
"Tell me." You sighed, leaning back against the tub, splashing water around yourself. "Tell me how much you've missed me."
Ruben froze for a brief moment, seeing you redirect the camera angle in a way that revealed more of your body.
"Alot." He gulped, watching you dip a hand between your legs.
"Yeah? Tell me more."
He couldn't see all of you through the murky water. But as the layers of bubbles disappeared with your slow shifts, the swell of your breast resurfacing.
"Oh, baby don't do this to me." Ruben's head fell back against his pillows as he too adjusted his camera angles. You watched him slip a hand down his sweatpants and stroke whatever he was hiding in there. "I missed you so much, wishing you were here, with me." He moaned, chest heaving up and down with his heavy breathing.
"Ruben, please. Tell me what you want to do to me." You up the pace of the movement between you legs. You we drawing small circles against your clit, the sensation sending chocks of lightning to your body's nerve endings.
"I want to fuck you, hard." He groaned.
"Yeah, and?"
"Fuck you hard and watch your tittes bounce when you ride me."
"Yes, and?" You were squinting your eyes, primitive moans leaving your mouth, echoing throughout your bathroom.
"And..." He grunted on the edge of something. His movements down his pants were faster than yours, unable to contain himself.
"And, Ruben? Please tell me."
"Baby, I can't. I'm close." Ruben's camera shook with the bouncing of his bed. You watch him please himself, please himself to the image of you.
"Me too baby, me too." You arched your back in the tub, one of your legs going over the edge, opening yourself up wider. "Look at me baby, watch me come for you."
He seemed unable to multitask, having to slow down as not to make himself come before you. He watched you please yourself to the point of screaming his name, you're fingers buried deep inside of you.
"Fuck." He groaned, staining his bedsheets with the erruption of his cock.
"That felt good." You smiled, regaining your breath, coming down from the high. "I can't believe I just did that."
"Me neither." Ruben said, no longer in his bed. He looked to be in a small bathroom, washing his hands. "Sametime tomorrow?"
You shook your head, unable to hide your smile. "Goodbye Ruben."
He smiled, a cheeky smile. "Goodbye Y/N."

Proof that Tony Stark is not an extravert
Tumblr media
Well, I’d bet it’s better results than one could get on YouTube, Twitter, or Reddit, but come on.
I’m going to show you why MCU Tony is certainly not an extravert.
I've already posted some stuff, such as:
Absent-minded Tony
Socially awkward Tony
As you can see, Tony has some issues that hint to us that he’s not always present or outgoing. And now it’s time to gather all these and other things and summarize our findings.
Extraversion: Large social network & Thrive in teams, crowds vs Introversion: Value 1:1 friendships & Favor independence
Tony no doubt knows a lot of people. Because he ran a huge technological company, right. Business partners, military officers, politicians, SHIELD agents, journalists, his staff, etc. Although this doesn’t mean that he communicates with many people regularly, or has many friends. And we know he doesn’t. He never had many friends. Throughout the Infinity Saga, he made a few, like Pepper and Happy. But before IM2 his only friends were Rhodey, J.A.R.V.I.S., and his bots.
He mostly interacted with AIs and robots, especially in his solo movies. This tells us something, doesn’t it? I’ll write a separate post about his childhood, but it is obvious that he was always an outcast: in school, college, before the Avengers, within the Avengers… We don’t really see him as a “gear” in this mechanism. He is most often steps ahead of others or steps aside. None of the Avengers were really his friends, and I’ll write about that too in the future.
Did he try to make more friends? He seemed to think some of the Avengers were. He thought Steve was. Remember this?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Or Bruce. But Bruce didn't even want to listen to him when Tony needed help.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And he left him at the end of AoU. But Tony thought he was a friend. Moreover, he considered them all his family.
That’s what he was doing – everyone around him, from assistants to teammates, were considered friends and family members and were treated accordingly. He needed that, not a large social network of "pals" and "buddies" he barely knows.
Let’s illustrate how he felt about people around him:
Deleted scene "Dubai Party" from IM (2008)
Tumblr media
Tony doesn’t really talk to those people. He doesn't feel comfortable shaking their hands or taking anything from them. That's not why he's here, it's an alibi for the mission in Afghanistan. And we see that all this causes him disgust and discomfort.
The Charity Ball - IM (2008)
Tumblr media
And boom - he doesn't know that Christina is talking about Jericho, which Stein sold to the Ten Rings. He thinks she is referring to this event. And he (surprisingly) reveals that he actually has social anxiety. That doesn't sound like an extrovert to me.
Alternate Opening from IM2 shows us Tony, who is trying to avoid going on some kind of dangerous mission. And then we find out that that mission is actually the Expo Opening. He doesn’t look excited that he has to go to the crowd, doesn’t he?
Tumblr media
After that, he makes his way through the crowd of fans, communicating with virtually no one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the Senate hearing, he seems bored. He doesn’t pay much attention to the politicians, asking Pepper about chili, hacking networks, and making fun of Senator Stern.
Tumblr media
After he’s done with Hammer and Stern he shows his public mask to others. We know he is not comfortable with this situation, but he has to deal with it.
At the party "Natalie wears the gauntlet" deleted scene from IM2
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is what Tony really thinks about these people. He doesn’t like them, doesn’t like this lifestyle. He didn’t want this party in the first place. He doesn’t even understand celebrating birthdays ("The Sub-Orbital Jet" deleted scene, IM2).
Tumblr media
Sounds very introvert-like to me.
He wears sunglasses in public. Because he is uncomfortable when people see his eyes - they cannot hide from them what he wants to hide. And that brings us to the next trait…
Extraversion: Enjoy being a center of attention vs Introversion: Avoid being a center of attention
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He hides behind sunglasses. Most of the time, he only shows his mask to people he considers strangers. When he's the center of attention, it's his mask, not the real Tony.
The real Tony refused to be the commander of the Avengers, despite being their benefactor and providing them with everything. The real Tony didn't go to important public events on behalf of the team, Natasha (WS and CW) did. The real Tony left the Avengers at his Compound and went to live with his family in a cabin in the middle of nowhere. And, again, we can recall what he said about his birthday and parties in general.
Extraversion: Think out loud vs Introversion: Think before speaking
Tony is not the guy who shares his thoughts with others. He thinks a lot. And he hides most of it from others.
Does he always think before speaking? No, not at all. But that’s his goofy personality, not extraversion.
Extraversion: Energize around people & seek greater stimulation vs Introversion: Recharge, reflect in quiet & Seek less stimulation
As we can see, Tony is not that much of a people person. He avoids gatherings when he can, and doesn’t enjoy them when he can’t. Most of the time he spends in his workshop/lab with his AIs, bots, and sometimes with Bruce, with occasional visits from Pepper and Rhodey. And he is comfortable in this environment.
With the Avengers he doesn’t act like an energy battery. Instead, he is quiet, calm, and just minds his own business. Look at the scenes from AoU:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the party he doesn't talk to many people, we see him in a small group of Thor and Maria Hill, and he is, again, pretty quiet.
Tumblr media
In Endgame he lives with just his wife, daughter, chickens, and Gerald the alpaca in a cabin, far from other people and their noise. He has nature around, a big fireplace, and paper books to read by it. This is his happiness. An introvert's dream.
Tumblr media
Conclusion: all the extraversion we see in Tony came from his business training that started when he was a kid. He had to develop a set of skills: communicating with many people, participating in gatherings, selling stuff, running a company, dealing with journalists and politicians. He became the owner of a huge business when he was only 21 years old. Of course, he has skills formed by decades of experience. But we see he doesn’t enjoy doing all this stuff. This is not his comfort zone. His comfort zone is his lab and a few close friends. It's hard to tell from the masks he wears and his skills whether he's an introvert or an ambivert who tends to be introverted, but he's definitely not an extravert.
P.S. This is not a 100% comprehensive review of everything I've seen in the movies. There are many more examples of his introversion in the MCU. But this post is already huge, so if you would like to see more about it – let me know in the comments and I’ll make more detailed posts about each trait.

Cruising
Joshua Goldman grew up in a rich family. His parents have always invested in real estate. They were hardworking though and gave him the values of integrity and determination.
Tumblr media
From a young age, Joshua knew he was different. He had a keen eye for fashion and design, and his creativity set him apart from his peers. However, growing up in a conservative community, he faced adversity and discrimination. It was during his teenage years that he discovered his sexual orientation, and he struggled to find acceptance and support.
But despite the challenges he faced, Joshua never let his circumstances define him. He worked hard in school and graduated to a prestigious university. It was during his time in college that he discovered his innate business acumen. He excelled in his studies, focusing on finance and real estate, and his professors saw something special in him.
After graduating at the top of his class, Joshua set out to make his mark on the world. Armed with his knowledge and ambition, he dove headfirst into the real estate industry. He started small, flipping houses and investing in properties, slowly building his empire. At a very young age he took over his parents company.
It wasn't long before Joshua's savvy business sense caught the attention of wealthy investors. With their financial backing, he expanded his operations, diving into commercial real estate and luxury properties. His ventures took him to every corner of the globe, from the bustling streets of Dubai to the serene beaches of Bali.
Tumblr media
As his wealth and influence grew, Joshua found himself longing for something more. The business world was exhilarating, but he yearned for a sense of fulfillment that money couldn't buy. It was during a trip to the Mediterranean that he had a life-changing experience.
The shimmering blue waters of the Mediterranean called to Joshua like a siren's song. The luxurious yachts that dotted the coastline captured his imagination, and he knew he had found the missing piece of his puzzle. He wanted to live a life of freedom, surrounded by beauty and opulence. And so, he set his sights on acquiring a yacht of his own.
Joshua spared no expense when selecting his vessel. He enlisted the help of the most talented yacht designers and naval architects in the world. Together, they created a floating palace that would become his home away from home. The yacht was a sight to behold, boasting state-of-the-art amenities and luxurious accommodations.
Joshua's summer routine became the stuff dreams were made of. From May to September, he would embark on a journey across the Mediterranean, his yacht docking in a new harbor every morning. As the sun rose, he would lace up his sneakers and set off on a run through the picturesque streets of each city or village, guided by his dedicated personal trainer.
After an invigorating run, Joshua would indulge in an hour of fitness at the most exclusive hotels and resorts that he owned in the region. Sweating it out in luxurious surroundings became his morning ritual, a way maintain to his physique and recharge his for energy the day ahead.
By lunchtime, Joshua would return to his yacht, already tackled the to business side of his empire. Meetings with clients and investors filled his mornings, as he strategized and negotiated deals from the comfort of his floating palace. The yacht provided the perfect backdrop for his high-stakes discussions, its opulent interiors exuding an air of sophistication.
Despite his high-powered lifestyle, Joshua never forgot the value of companionship. He surrounded himself with a carefully selected entourage, a tight-knit group of individuals who became like family. Two hospitality managers attended to his every need, ensuring that his logistics were flawlessly arranged. His personal trainer, chef, and assistant chef also had their designated spaces on the yacht, their expertise enhancing the experience for Joshua and his guests.
And guests there were aplenty. Joshua's generosity knew no bounds, and he would often invite his friends and family to join him on his summer escapades. He would fly them in from around the world, ensuring that they were treated like royalty from the moment they stepped onboard. Lavish breakfasts were served, either in the privacy of their rooms or on the sun-drenched deck. Joshua prided himself as the perfect host, ensuring that his guests were always entertained and pampered.
Joshua's yacht became a hub of excitement and joy. He organized breathtaking excursions, taking his guests to secluded beaches and enchanting Mediterranean islands. The days were filled with laughter, sun-soaked adventures, and endless opportunities for relaxation and indulgence.
As the sun set, the yacht transformed into a vibrant party scene. Joshua's guests would gather on deck, clinking champagne glasses, and dancing into the wee hours of the morning. And yet, amidst the revelry, Joshua remained the picture of composure. He knew how to pace himself, rarely imbibing in excess and always encompassing himself with responsible behavior.
As the summer months drew to a close, Joshua reluctantly bid farewell to the Mediterranean and returned to his beloved New York City for the fall. The concrete jungle provided a stark contrast to the azure waters he had become accustomed to, but he found solace in the vibrancy and energy of the city.
The winter months were divided between two paradises that Joshua held dear. From November to January, he would retreat to his Tulum jungle villa, immersing himself in nature's embrace. The serenity of the jungle served as a respite from the stresses of his business, allowing him to find inner peace and clarity. Or go to his beach house in St Barth’s.
Then, from February to March, Joshua would trade the tranquility of Tulum for the exhilaration of the European Alps. Gstaad became his seasonal home, a playground for the elite and a winter wonderland for adrenaline enthusiasts. He would carve his way down the snow-covered slopes, letting the crisp mountain air invigorate his spirit.
And so, the seasons changed, and Joshua followed suit, always seeking out the next adventure. With spring came the promise of discovery in a new city, a chance to explore trendy bars and restaurants and mingle with sexy, like-minded individuals. He reveled in the nightlife, surrounded by beauty and opportunity.
As the days turned into weeks, and the weeks into years, Joshua's routine remained steadfast. He had found a life that brought him joy, fulfillment, and success. His multi-billion-dollar empire continued to flourish, and he became a role model for those who dared to dream.
And so, as the sun set on Joshua's yacht, signaling the end of another perfect day, he retired to his luxurious chamber. He knew that tomorrow would bring new adventures, new challenges, and new opportunities. He lay his head on the soft pillows, his mind at ease, and drifted off to sleep.
The morning would come soon enough, and Joshua would rise the with sun, ready to embrace the world that lay before him.
Part 2, Thibault
During a glamorous party in Paris, a young and handsome man named Thibault had just graduated from university. With his clever mind and social charm, he caught the attention of the city's elite, including the Joshua
Tumblr media
Joshua, impressed by Thibault's presence, invited him to join him on his private jet, traveling to parties all over Europe in the month of April. Thibault and Joshua quickly became a great match, and their friends adored them as a couple.
As summer approached, Joshua extended an invitation to Thibault to join him on his luxurious yacht. It was the perfect opportunity for Thibault to travel before starting work, so he eagerly accepted.
The summer adventure began in Beirut, where Joshua spent his mornings running on the shore with his personal trainer, followed by intense fitness workouts and meetings with investors and other important business associates. Lunchtime was usually spent back on the boat, hosting grand parties with influential people.
Tumblr media
During the first two weeks, Thibault and Joshua had a wonderful time, enjoying each other's company and indulging in the delicious food onboard. However, Thibault soon realized that the extravagance was taking a toll on his body. Feeling a bit chubbier, he noticed that it actually turned Joshua on, leading to their intimate moments being even more passionate than before.
Tumblr media
Determined to look his best, Joshua took Thibault on a shopping spree, buying him new Louis Vuitton trunks and tailored suits to enhance his appearance. Thibault also attempted to keep up with Joshua's fitness routine but struggled to find the motivation. Late-night parties and exhaustion from socializing left him feeling tired and slightly hungover.
After four weeks, Thibault started to notice that his jeans no longer fit him. At first, he assumed it was due to the staff on the boat washing them at too high a temperature. However, during a shopping trip, he realized that he had gained a whole size. Troubled by this discovery, he decided to have a workout session with their personal trainer, but unfortunately, it didn't go well. Thibault discovered that he had gained a shocking six kilograms in just four weeks, which was more than he had ever weighed in his life.
Tumblr media
Thibault discussed his concerns with Joshua, proposing that they schedule a session with the personal trainer to address the issue. However, Joshua denied the request, explaining that the trainer was too busy with his own online fitness company and would disrupt the guest schedule. Feeling guilty and wanting to show his appreciation, Joshua bought Thibault a Rolex watch. Despite the weight gain, Joshua couldn't resist his attraction to Thibault's new size, and their intimate moments continued to be filled with passion.
Tumblr media
As the summer went on, Thibault and Joshua traveled to various destinations along the Croatian coast, Venice, Puglia, Capri, Rome, and other glamorous Mediterranean locations. They attended lavish parties with high-end guests, including celebrities and royalties.
Tumblr media
Indulging in more snacks and champagne, Thibault's denial about his weight gain persisted, attributing it to Italian sizes rather than accepting the reality. Meanwhile, Joshua maintained his discipline, going to bed on time, and abstaining from alcohol.
Tumblr media
Three months had flown by, and Thibault and Joshua had visited every desirable harbor in Europe. Their bond had strengthened, and Joshua couldn't believe that Thibault had made it through the summer without any issues. Other companions had wanted separate rooms or even left after only four weeks. Joshua proposed that Thibault join him in his New York City apartment for the fall, with the potential of spending Christmas and New Year's Eve with his family in Mexico and St. Barths if everything went well.
In the last harbor before their return, Thibault felt like an entirely different person. He had grown larger, and Joshua decided to them treat to a weekend at a lavish spa resort in the area. Stepping on the scale after three months of not seeing his weight climb, Thibault was shocked to discover that he now weighed 120 kilograms. Conflicted about his new appearance, Thibault wasn't sure if he liked it, but Joshua loved it and had no intention of making him lose weight.

*A confusing success story*
Hi Cleo. I’ve never done one of these before but something odd happened to me about three weeks ago and I was hoping you could help me understand. So I’m African and I attend a university in Europe. I flew home for summer and on the 2nd of this month I had to fly back to school. And I’m probably flying back home for Christmas this December. It’s a long flight about 7 hours from my country to Dubai and then 5 hours from Dubai to my final destination. So because I’ve been having to do long flights from home to school I’ve been desiring flying first class. It seems so comfortable and luxurious than sitting in economy for hours on end. Even in the airport, all the privileges that you get from being a first class passenger are so great and I wanted that to make travelling easier. But of course it’s really expensive and it’s not something that I was actively going to manifest because being able to afford a ticket to go home is a privilege in itself and I’m fine with that. Anyways so on the first flight to Dubai I was on the double decker plane where it’s business and first class on the top and economy on the bottom. And I kid you not I spent the entire flight sort of complaining to my self and just wishing to be in the top deck all comfortable and shit. Just basically doing all the things you’re not supposed to do when it comes to manifesting. And again I wasn’t trying to manifest first class or business class so I didn’t care. And even though I was uncomfortable I was sort of happy that people get to be comfy in first class I was happy for them and wishing I was them. So I get to Dubai wait 5 hours to connect and as I was boarding the plane the guy checking the boarding passes goes “Hold on one second you’ve been upgraded so let me change your boarding pass” HUH?! I was so confused and I asked him why I got upgraded and he just shrugged, he looked confused as to why I would even ask him that but hello???? this is Emirates are they really just upgrading random college kids to business class? So yes I got upgraded to business class and it was magical (I’ll dm you pictures of proof) It was everything I wanted and expected it to be but I don’t see why I was upgraded when I did the exact opposite of everything you’re supposed to do in terms of manifesting. Yes I have first class on my mood board and all but still I was in such a lack mindset so why did I manifest this still?
well first of all.. congrats😭 hope you enjoyed ⬇️⬇️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and as for why it manifested. i honestly think it had to do with you constantly visualizing being in first class. because you could say something as simple as “i will never go on a rollercoaster” and by you saying that, you envision it. that’s my best explanation 😭. hey i just do the manifesting shit okay go ask sammy😂🤷🏽‍♀️. BUT! with that situation you should start affirming that things always work out for you and you always get what you want so that more things like that happen.
y’all better not inbox me worrying about “so if i envision what i don’t desire it will manifest 😧” NO! that’s all imma say.. i don’t wanna hear it

19th February 1792 saw the birth on Shetland of Arthur Anderson.
Anderson was a businessman and Liberal Member of Parliament for Orkney and Shetland. He was the first Shetland-born man to represent the Isles.
Born in the Böd of Gremista at Lerwick, the son of a fish curer who had come from Unst, Anderson joined the Royal Navy at the age of 16, and fought in the Napoleonic wars. Moving to London he was co-founder of the Peninsular Steam Navigation Company which became the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company. He tried to persuade the British government of the value of building a canal linking the Mediterranean and the Red Sea but failed, and it was not until a year after his death than the French built the Suez Canal. Anderson introduced the concept of cruising for pleasure, rather than simply a means of transportation.
Arthur Anderson also formed the Union Steam Ship Company to supply coal to his P&O ships. This later became the core of the great Union-Castle line.
His various philanthropic gifts included endowing the Anderson Educational Institute (now Anderson High School) in Lerwick which opened in 1862.
His company was broken up during mergers and takeover, with P&O Cruises having merged with the Carnival Corporation in 2002, the P&O Nedlloyd container business sold in 2004 and P&O Ferries owned by Dubai World since 2005.
