JOMP Book Photo Challenge || November 12 || Want To Re-read: Broken Blade by Ann Marston

I’ve been contemplating a reread for awhile now but never actually get around to it. My tastes have changed over time and a not insignificant number of books I found around the same period didn’t hold up to my memory of them. Will I reread Broken Blade eventually? Yes, but I’d like to hold on to my nostalgia for a bit longer just in case.

The memory is often everlasting to confess near complete. The writing carved upon the walls of our aching heart declares. Our helplessness to the ill intention rained upon us without even a care. It would not matter if the blade was broken or rusty the injury forever remains. Often to forever haunt and bound us to its unforgiving chains. Such is often love and life adrift alone within this world today. Hoping to escape the cut which may run deep with decay.

#genshin impact #demon slayer #crossover #kaedehara kazuha #shinazugawa sanemi #first chapter is in progress for the fic lmao I just felt like doing a little drawing of their first meeting #why is sanemi so hard to draw actually #I love the idea of kazuha seeing the demon slayer uniform and just noping the hell out of there #not shown because I didn’t plan this comic out great: sanemi has just seen kazuha killing demons with a broken nichirin sword and #nichirin swords are generally only within the corps— but Kazuha’s not a demon slayer clearly #which means to sanemi that he must have stolen the blade somehow or picked it up from a corpse somewhere #which sanemi will absolutely get angry about #anyways their second meeting both of them are definitely more eloquent but also no friendlier with each other #really pushing it in the fic with how sarcastic and passive aggressive I think kazuha can be #never seen him interact with Raiden directly sadly so very little reference to go off of on kazuha interacting with people he doesn’t like #I’m determined to believe that kazuha would be extremely petty but in a classy way if someone pushed his buttons enough

Going back to this thing briefly

When adapting this chapter into an episode Toei did not explain nor demonstrate to us what the fuck that spike was (instead they gave us Sables #378545), so we're no closer to finding out what kinda new moves Crocodile might have up his sleeve, whether that really was a Haki-infused sand spike or what

But when I was checking the melting point of sand out of curiosity (to figure out if Crocodile has a fighting chance against Akainu, which in theory he does because Akainu isn't hot enough to melt sand (in theory)), I was reminded of the fact that sand is mostly made of silica

Or, in other words, quartz. Sand is, on average, made of crystal. Of course, sand is also made of other things and other minerals (not just quartz), but if we wanted to assume Croc's DF is made of one element and one element alone, then let's just assume it's 100% silica, right

And now I can't help but to wonder now though

Could Crocodile have learned a new technique where he somehow compresses and hardens his sand so much it can turn into large, solid crystals? Or more specifically, sharp pointy stabby weapons to murder people with? 'Cause. How fucking cool would that be

Also considdering how much Crocodile likes his bling, being able to form crystals to murder people with would arguably be on-brand for him
