( NOTE; this comic does NOT reflect the views of the artist or is in ANY way meant to chastise / guilt the opposing side OR fault the voters, this is just a little in-character fun on my part & in no way was created with malicious intent! )

Care to share with us what your no-longer-shortish wip is about???? 👀
FOR YOU? ALWAYS!
So I mentioned in this post that I had a short-ish WIP in my 'active development' pile that's angsty, Jamie-centric, and involves a cat. It's set in the nebulous time between Jamie rejoining the team at the end of 2x02 'Lavender' and the Dubai Air protest in 2x03 'Do the Right-est Thing', so Jamie's very much on the outside looking in.
Originally, it was only focused on Jamie having crushing feelings of social isolation, itchy feelings of touch starvation, and a cat. Now it's merged with another WIP from the 'extended mountainous pile' and given Jamie crushing feelings of social isolation, itchy feelings of touch starvation, a poor sense of self worth, terrible self-preservation instincts. And appendicitis. And a cat. (And Dani!)
(Even more characters just keep showing up too. I didn't invite them. They're just. Here.)
So now I'm smashing two different outlines together with all the single-minded enthusiasm of child convinced they've got the right jigsaw pieces. (They do not.) And while this isn't going to be long, it is no longer the short-ish length that I LITERALLY BEGGED IT TO STAY AT.
I LOVE the angst potential of the early-season-2-time-period and I would be remiss to not shout out our beloved @jamietarttsnorthernattitude who already covered it beautifully in 'i'm lost, but i'm hopeful, baby' and is DOING IT AGAIN RIGHT NOW!! (I'm very very excited 🥳)

Dustin: What's your blood type?
Lucas: How would I know?
Dustin: How would you not?!
Lucas: Who am I, Karl Landsteiner? Discoverer of blood groups?
Mike: You don't know your own blood type, but you know who discovered them?

oh...I feel like it says something that Caleb never found faith in the gods. That he finds a way to perform a resurrection ritual with just his own magic and painstaking research. With no cleric or god--just him and his family. Just their love for Mollymauk and each other.
And it should have worked. It could have. But even with the odds weighing in their favor, even when they were so desperately close, and it seemed most of their offerings were a success...with just a roll of the dice, it was all gone. A cruel twist of fate, death claiming this fate touched soul once again. Maybe it wasn't meant to be. Maybe he was always doomed. Maybe.
But when Deuces asked his god to bring him back, to give him one last chance--said that they'd all suffered enough and deserved just this much...she listened. A world away in the Moonweaver's comforting embrace, Sehanine holds onto Molly's soul and tells him just the same. "Thrice upon a time...Hang on. What comes after thrice? Does anyone know?...Isn't that the strangest thing? There is nothing after thrice in the sequence, it just ends there. But that doesn't seem right, does it? Or fair. Well. I think we shall just have to make it up."
Caleb never found faith in the gods--but he did believe in his family. Believed in Molly. And this shattered shard of a soul was loved so much, had suffered for so long--two different gods intervened, and gave him one last chance. Just. What faith means to each of the Mighty Nein, and how it's both the love of mortals and compassion of gods that brings Molly's soul home.

I love that almost all references to Hawke going to noble parties are from Varric because I know my Hawke was there only because Varric also had to be there and wanted emotional support
