You don’t have to write this if you aren’t comfortable but I am going through an absolutely awful time and would enjoy Vax cuddles. Could you maybe write Vax trying to help a depressed reader if you are okay with it?

You hear the door to your room crack open and burrow deeper into your blankets. Maybe if you pretend to be asleep, he’ll leave you alone.

“Love?” The side of the bed dips down as Vax sits behind you, resting a hand on your shoulder. At your silence, you feel the bed shift as Vax stands. You can hear his armor falling to the floor before he eventually slides into the bed behind you.

Vax carefully wraps an arm around you, his other arm working it’s way between your head and the bed. Once he’s got both arms around you, he pulls himself closer, pressing a kiss to your shoulder.

This is what you loved about Vax. He doesn’t press you to share what’s on your mind, even though it eats him up to watch you struggle.

With a sigh, you roll over and press your face into the curve between his neck and shoulder. Vax runs a hand soothingly along your back and presses a kiss to your head.

“There you are.” He says with a small smile. “Bad day?”

You hum in response, pressing closer to him. If only you could crawl into him, press yourself into his skin, forget where you start and he begins. Maybe that’d make you feel better.

“Can you just hold me a little while longer?” You murmur. Vax pulls the blanket tighter around the both of you.

“Of course. Whatever you need.”

Hi, so if you’re comfortable writing this, would you be willing to write something for Vax where the reader finds out she’s pregnant (however they find that out in a fantasy world anyway) and how she tells Vax and his reaction?

You had to tell Vax.

That was the long and short of it. However, that thought made anxiety flutter in your belly. Leaving the healer had your head in all sorts of a mess. You could’ve gone to Pike, you muse, but something about that was even more intimidating.

You paced the room you shared with Vax in Whitestone, carving a path among the various items strewn about. Your cloak, a box of trinkets Vax keeps, the small pile of dirty laundry.

The sound of the door opening spooks you and you’re caught between staying standing to greet him versus trying to sit casually on the bed; when Vax fully gets the door open, he finds you wide eyed and in the middle of the room.

“Were you in the middle of something?” He asks, eyebrow raised and a smile dancing across his face. “I can leave and come back.”

“No, no!” You step towards him, grabbing his wrist and tugging him into the room. Vax lets the door fall close behind him as he follows your movements, his free hand raising to run his knuckles along your cheek. You lead him to the bed and let go of his wrist. “Will you…would you sit? For a minute? I need to tell you something.”

Vax eyed you curiously as he slowly lowered himself to sit on the bed. He rested his hands lightly on your hips, tipping his head to the side as he peered up at you.

“Did I do something wrong? That’s usually why people want to talk to me.” Vax says, squeezing your hips with a teasing smile on his face. “If I did, I’m very sorry and I’ll never do it again, probably. If I didn’t-“

“I’m pregnant.” You blurt out in the middle of his rambling. Vax stills, his grip at your waist loosening. After a long, loooong moment of his blank stare, you take a step back.

The movement seems to jostle Vax back to reality and before you can blink he’s stood, gathering you in his arms and swinging you in a circle.

“Say it again.” Vax says, breathless. You repeat yourself, a grin growing across your face as Vax’s face lights up even more. He peppers kisses along your face and you can’t help but laugh. Your feet are barely touching the floor but the smile on Vax’s face is all you can focus on.

Telling the rest of Vox Machina went about as you expected. Grog and Scanlan were quick to tease Vax with crude jokes but you could see how happy both were. Pike and Keyleth were thrilled, immediately asking a dozen questions. Percy was more politely congratulatory and Vex…at first, Vex gave you a very long, hard look. But that dissolved away into a warm, small smile. And if you saw tears in her eyes, well, no you didn’t.

Through the whole process, Vax could hardly take his eyes off you and one hand was always resting near your middle.

Could you write some fluffy headcanons for Percy x reader but also the whole Vox Machina crew with a totally stressed, overworked reader?

I'm having a million things to do at work, teach prepare experiments, while also applying for jobs and prepare my practical and theoretical graduation exam.

Sometimes it can be overwhelming, some fluffy headcanons would be very appreciated. :)

Percy

i think we can all agree that Percy is pictured in the dictionary beside “overworked” and “stressed”

So I’m not sure how long it’ll take for him to catch on that you’re in a similar position

once he notices though, he’ll gently fuss at you to take more breaks or share your work with him (the hypocrisy lol)

if the work can be done by anyone other than you, Percy does not hesitate to shove it on someone else.

If you tell him that you’ll relax so long as he joins you, he’ll moan and complain but put his work to the side. He wants you happy first and foremost and honestly, his work can wait

Enjoys strolling the Whitestone gardens with you as a way to unwind. He’ll tell you the history of the gardens or point out new plants Keyleth has helped him plant

Secretly takes on some of your workload for himself. after you’ve gone to sleep, he’ll slip out of bed and tackle a problem that’s been giving you trouble, leaving you a sweet note when he’s done

Vex

Let’s you keep working…for a little while. But when she picks up on you being stressed and overworked, she’s watching you like a hawk

The minute you stop, just to take a breath or grab a snack or whatever, she’s covertly dragging you away to do something else. But like, as a favor to her

“I didn’t want to interrupt your work, darling, but can I borrow you for a moment?” said with a soft smile, her hands already pulling you away

Doesn’t actually need you for anything, Vex just wants to make sure you’re taking breaks and relaxing

Vax

If you so much as mention being slightly stressed, Vax is swooping in and pulling you away from whatever work you’re doing

He absolutely does not enjoy seeing you be anything other than happy and content so he does anything in his power to help you relax and feel better

Overworked? Helps to figure out if you could delegate to anyone else. If it’s not a necessity that you do the work, then someone else can handle it.

Stressed? Immediately offers a thousand ideas of how you can relax. Let him play with your hair and give you a scalp massage. Go flying with his wings (you don’t think that’s nearly as relaxing as he thinks it is). Just lie in bed together and chat.

Keyleth

Prone to worry and stress herself, she picks up on your troubles quickly. But she hesitated to interfere- she doesn’t want you thinking she’s trying to order you around or that she thinks you’re incapable

She’s gonna try and help you through your workload, to the best of her ability. If it’s really outside of her capabilities, she’ll resort to bring you snacks and reminding you to take breaks

When it comes down to it, she’s not afraid to put her foot down. Whatever work that needs to be done can’t be so important that you’re harming yourself along the way.

Keyleth gets you to take walks with her, maybe go swimming if that’s an option where y’all are, picnics, or even just hanging out with the rest of Vox Machina

I feel like Keyleth is very much an empath. You being stressed makes her stressed. You’re supposed to be the level headed and pulled together one!

Pike

Campaign 2 you say? 🤔

Could I please request something with Caleb being totally smitten with the reader since day one, meeting in that tavern? And maybe just little moments within the campaign where it's so blatantly obvious?

“It’s just that you smell.”

“Jester!” You smack her arm. “You don’t just say things like that!” You lean around to look at the guy. “I’m so sorry for her.”

“I have heard worse.” Caleb reassured you.

“See!” Jester said and you let out an exasperated sigh. You give him an apologetic look and earn a small smile in response.

Kindness is the easiest way to win Caleb over, especially if you are just so intrinsically kind. No motivations, just straight up a kind person.

Looking out for him and Nott is also a way to get his attention. Keeping them safe during fights, maybe helping them out with a few gold here or there.

“You in there?” Caleb finally managed to peel his eyes open and you stop patting his cheek. “There you are.”

His eyes wander past you to the sizzling remains of the priest and you frown, patting his cheek softly again.

“Come on, Caleb, let’s go.” You rose to your feet and Caleb followed you shakily, thankful for your hand on his elbow.

Being understanding of Caleb and his past goes a long way to earn his affection as well, though he’s a bit hesitant about it. He doesn’t feel like he deserves any understanding.

The less you judge him, the more he’ll be inclined to share, which leads to a stronger camaraderie between the two of you and growing affection on his part

A rapid knocking comes from your door. You open it to find Caleb, a wide grin on his face.

“Are you busy? I would like to show you something.” At your agreement he leads you up to the rooftop of the Xhorhaus, to a patch of bare rooftop away from the giant tree.

“It is not- it is not finished but I - I am excited to show you!” Caleb rambled, tugging you to one side then kneeling along the roof.

“Well, I’m excited to see it!” You grin, crouching beside him. He took out some string and started twisting it this way and that, making a cat's cradle. Caleb ignites it and the flames crawl across the strings then further, across the roof, in the form of a web. “Whoa!”

“It will, hopefully, be a bit stronger once I figure it out.” Caleb explains, watching the fire sizzle out.

“Gods, Caleb, that’s so cool! Did you come up with this yourself?” You ask as you place a hand on his shoulder. He nods, a faint blush across his cheeks. “You’re so fucking smart, that’s incredible.”

Reading in the same room is also a good way to spend time with Caleb- it takes the pressure off him to socially entertaining and y’all still get to be together

Even if you’re not magically inclined, showing interest in magic is a good way to connect to Caleb. Especially if you show particular interest in the spells he designs himself.

It takes a while but eventually, Caleb is reaching for your hand in the quiet moments. Soft whispers, pouring over tomes and maps. A firm body against yours at night. Caleb does not think he’s deserving of much but you convince him that he is, at least, deserving of your love.

Reader likes cuddling with Frumpkin, while Caleb wishes he was Frumpkin.

Finally finished up this drabble from ages ago, and I’m not completely happy with it but I hope y’all enjoy regardless 🌼 feel free to send in requests that you’d be interested to see ❤️

Caleb jolts back into his body, looking quickly to his side as Veth pulls her hand back to herself.

“I’m sorry!” Veth said, patting Caleb’s arm where she’d given him a slight slap, to bring him back to his body. “You weren’t answering me, I was getting worried…”

Caleb’s gaze drifts to Frumpkin, who was curled up against you. You who, fast asleep, had one arm thrown over Frumpkin, holding him to you even as you curled around him.

“Sorry, I’m fine.” Caleb replies to Veth, dragging his eyes away. Veth gave him a concerned frown, glancing quickly towards you and Frumpkin.

“Were you...were you Frumpkin?” Veth asks. Caleb flushes a bit, pointedly not looking back at Veth.

“No.”

Caleb watches as you let out a huff in your sleep, readjusting yourself and pulling Frumpkin closer to you. He’s pointedly ignoring the knowing and sad look Veth is giving him. It had been easier in the Tower. He could bury himself in a blanket of cats and pretend he wasn’t alone. He knew you did the same, choosing different cats each night - not unlike Jester. You didn’t need Frumpkin when there was a kitchen full of cats to choose from.

On this one night, when they’d had to fore-go the Tower, he’d let you borrow Frumpkin and he’d let himself have one selfish evening of pretending you were holding him.

“That’s almost creepy, Caleb.” Veth says quietly. She doesn’t want him angry but she also knows this isn't good for him.

“I-I know, okay? I’m working on it.” He pulls the hood of his coat up, effectively cutting Veth off. He could put his vision back into Frumpkin, but he won’t. Not tonight. The guilt of being caught, on top of the usual guilt of doing this, was enough to dissuade him.

“Caleb!” You called out, jogging a bit to catch up to him. The Mighty Nein were taking a break in Nicodranas for a while, much to everyone’s relief. The group had kind of splintered off, each doing their own thing, but you found yourself getting lonely. Spying Caleb seemingly unbusy was too good of an opportunity to miss.

He jumped a bit in surprise, but slowed and turned to face you. As you reached him, you looped your arm through his and leaned against his shoulder.

“Whatcha up to?” You asked.

“Ah, oh, nothing much. Jester said there was a book shop somewhere nearby so I thought I’d take a look.”

“Mind if I tag along?” Caleb shook his head, a slight blush rising across his face as he leads you down the street. “Oh! Maybe we can find another trashy romance novel for Jester, I’m pretty sure she’s read Tusk Love at least 3 times by now.”

You chatter at him as y’all walk the streets, searching for the bookstore. Caleb is mostly quiet, his arm a bit tense in yours, but you try not to let it get to you.

It took another ten minutes of wandering to find the small shop but it was worth it. Every open surface was crammed with books. Both you and Caleb stalled in the doorway to just take in the whole place. A small gnome woman greeted you both from behind a towering pile of books and beckoned you to take a look around.

Nearly an hour later, you and Caleb finally emerged from the shop. Coin purses lighter but a few books richer. You’d mostly grabbed books for some of the others; trashy romance for Jester, a flora guide you thought Yasha might appreciate, and a small cookbook written in both common and what appeared to be Zemnian.

Caleb had his own small pile of books, mostly anything he thought could be useful in the Mighty Nein’s adventures. Conversation came easier as the two of you discussed your picks. You split ways once back at the Lavish Chateau.

That night, you begged Frumpkin off Caleb again, turning him into your own personal teddy bear for the night. Not that Frumpkin ever seemed to mind, if the constant purring was any indication.

You told Frumpkin about your day, as a way to wind down. You even told him about the little cookbook you’d bought and confided in the cat that, just maybe, you could figure out a recipe to make for Caleb, to maybe remind him of home. Frumpkin just blinked up at you slowly.

The next morning, you sat at one of the tables in the Chateau as you slowly ate breakfast. Yasha had adored the book you’d bought her and was perusing it as she sat near a window, her food forgotten.

“Morning.” Caleb appeared on the stairs, coming to sit with you.

“Good morning, Caleb.” You replied, speaking around the fruit in your mouth. As Caleb settled in you noticed that Caleb seemed…less tense? Almost relaxed.

“Is that the book you bought Yasha?” He asked, gesturing towards Yasha.

“Yes! She’s really happy with it, thank goodness.” You grin, casting a happy glance towards her.

ur post about oc fic and reader insert fic made me think about how every time i see a post dragging x reader it's kinda just... thinly veiled misogyny.

like i don't wanna get super deep or whatever but a good chunk of x reader writers (myself included) are just women or people socialized as women that have felt unloved or under appreciated in their lives because of their looks or their personality or their skills in things that women/feminine people are expected to excel in and i think that oc/reader insert stories give women a really important space to make themselves (or a version of themselves) the most desired thing which is something that they often don't experience. it's a space where women can feel comfortable and loved in a world where they're under appreciated and tossed aside because of things out of their control and it drives me up a wall when i see people shitting on these spaces and these works because these are just safe spaces for marginalized people PREDOMINATELY CREATED BY MARGINALIZED PEOPLE!!

n e ways this was a long rant oops..

omg see the thing that gets me about the occassional x reader/oc drag is that—the call is coming from inside the house LMAO. like, okay maybe original characters in fics aren’t a niche thing, but x reader sure the hell is, so you have to like, know internet culture/fandom to be aware of it let alone to start using it like an insult, you know? and i would argue that fanfic tends to be a hobby that attracts marginalised identities as you say, so like, why are we clowning on ourselves? LOL. it’s like a mathlete bullying the horse girl of their class, like, buddy—we’re both losers!!! get over yourself LMAO.

i think my favourite dig at x reader (specifically) that i’ve ever seen is some rando on tiktok saying it was fanfic for people who were popular in public school—i think it’s so telling of how other fans might view oc/reader content? like, “oh that’s just some straight girl shit, they’re not putting any effort into it/they’re stealing our precious ship boys for their pORN/they’re ruining the canon story by inserting themselves into it”. and idk—part of it is just human nature (we are always going to shit on things we don’t like, that is a fact) and part of it might be fandom/internet culture at large at the moment (the purity aspect/policing) but at the end of the day all we can do is tell them to eat dog shit when they sprout up in our spaces and ignore ‘em.

idk! it drives me bonkers though, because it does feel like these spaces/niches do get targeted unfairly for it—if it’s not for the simple crime of writing a love story with your favourite character, then it’s like… being old and doing it! because god forbid you be over the age of 18 and still enjoy engaging with fiction! don’t you have a mortgage to go pay? like—i never see that attitude (within a fandom space) directed at the grown-ass men and women and gender neutral pals who play like, Dungeons and Dragons. No one (within a fandom space!) tells them they’re weird for forty-hour long campaigns where they fight and fall in love and idk, put dragons in some dungeons or something. no—it’s the blatant love stories that get picked on. the ones written by girls (gender neutral).

romance—and falling in love—is one of the most universal feelings/acts in the world. we want to fall in love with everything! in every world! we wanna—fall in love and be loved by superheroes and the villains they fight and the monsters in the dark and the good guys that rush in with swords and the cute barista at the coffee shop down the road. if other fans wanna get hung up on the fact that a tiny fraction of others want to insert themselves in these incredible worlds and experience everything they want to (having powers; being saved. saving someone else—saving yourself) then that’s their problem lmaoooo. im sorry you can’t have fun and create whimsy for yourself by drawing an oc who wins the sports festival and saves bakugou from being kidnapped—but im built different. 😌 and im gonna have fun while im here.

listening to WAP and having thoughts...

i took my interest off petekey for a while to focus on other stuff, but everytime i listen to Fall Out Boy, the wonder and amazement spark back immediately... i’m still completely blown away (among other things) by how much Pete must’ve liked (loved) Mikey to keep up with it for so long -- or how much he feels in general. and even if the songs aren’t about Mikey (i have discussed this briefly), it doesn’t change the fact that Pete is absolutely tormented by his own emotions. it’s kind of fascinating.

with that being said, i’m in the mood to list off all the suspicious lyrics ever written by Pete that makes me go “damn, Mikey really did a disgusting number on him” or like, “poor Pete man”

disclaimer: again, these lyrics, let alone songs, might not be about Mikey, but i choose to believe so. i have to satisfy my fixation and bedazzlement on the fact that petekey highkey happened in the summer of 05.

(notable, Pete is questioning whether or not his ‘love’ could stem from loneliness, because this shit happens way too often than should be) - Don’t you remember how we used to split a drink? It never matted what it was - I think our hands were just that close, the sweetness never lasted, no Novocaine (i like this one in particular because it just seems to suggest that Pete will never be finished with this, and will haunt Mikey forever, either to get revenge for being left behind or relive that one unforgettable summer) - I will always land on you like a sucker punch (omg lmao) - I am your worst, I am your worst nightmare - If you knew, knew what the bluebirds sing at you, you would never sing along - Because they took our love and they filled it up, filled it up with novocaine and now I’m just numb - I don’t feel a thing for you (sure) - I’m just a problem that doesn’t wanna be solved - I feel like a photo that’s been overexposed (i wonder if it’s because of all the junk he posted on livejournal) that concludes it! of course, there are so many more obvious songs, like Fourth of July and Bang the Doldrums, but i don’t love those songs, so i didn’t include them. and side note, the lyrics hit that much harder when Patrick is the damn singer and makes everything hurt. but i’ll rant about that in another post, maybe.

So like.... because you mentioned it, and because I am an awful smitten shipper - any thoughts/headcanons about the Kamakiri/Fukidashi ship that you might be willing to share? (I've been really enjoying your Kamakiri headanons, so I wanted to say something about that too.)

Hey hey!! Sorry for getting to this late, I’ve been busy all day LMAO but I’m so glad you asked, thank you!! I hope you enjoy these headcanons :DD Gonna cut it in half, hope you don’t mind :))

Also sorry if a lot of these are about Kamakiri, I’m literally addicted to him, I hope you don’t mind 😭 LMAO

Kamakiri never really had a problem with Fukidashi but, Kamakiri being Kamakiri and wanting to keep up his “reputation”, he was still a bit of an ass to Fukidashi in the beginning of the school year

When Fukidashi confessed that he had a crush on Kamakiri, Kamakiri thought it was a joke and laughed. Once he realized it wasn’t a joke, ohhhh boy his heart dropped and his face turned reddd

If he’s saying something sweet or complimenting Fukidashi on something, in public, then he’ll get down to Fukidashi’s height a bit more and speak softly and a bit quietly since he likes to keep up his tough and mean reputation lmao he doesn’t want people to know he’s a bit soft, y’know?

Fukidashi doesn’t fear bugs as much as he used to anymore, thanks to Kamakiri. Plus, he feels bad whenever he kills one and Kamakiri watches cuz Kamakiri always has this sad and hurt look on his face, it literally bums him out to much to see someone kill a bug

Lemme just say- Angry, tough punk dude x dramatic, friendly art dude 😩

Kamakiri is literally TERRIFIED of accidentally cutting Fukidashi with his blade mandible things, or just accidentally hurting him in general. It would literally make him feel like shit

Fukidashi is one of the only few people to see Kamakiri with his hair down and unstyled. He thinks it looks cute both unstyled and styled :))

Before they started dating, Kamakiri being Kamakiri, would try to intimidate Fukidashi by either trying to make him flinch or by threatening him but Fukidashi just,,, wasn’t phased LMAO he just wasn’t scared of Kamakiri and this confused Kamakiri and lowkey made him a bit frustrated

Kamakiri kinda tried to deny and push his feelings away when he found out that he had a crush on Fukidashi but it just wouldn’t go away, no matter what he did

Once Kamakiri found out that Fukidashi liked butterflies, he immediately went out to catch one. Once he caught one, he caught it in a little plastic cage thingy and gave it to Fukidashi with a huge smile on his face, feeling proud of himself. This made Fukidashi super happy, since Kamakiri put al that effort into catching one just for him!! Super sweet!!

They’re both not really the jealous type but Kamakiri’s definitely the more jealous one LMAO

Whenever Fukidashi shows Kamakiri a drawing he made, Kamakiri’s always so supportive - “Woah that looks so good!” “You’re so talented!” “You did amazing, looks great!”

I said this in a post before but Kamakiri often makes trips to the convenient store before school or just whenever he wants- but anyways, he always makes sure to text or call Fukidashi to see if he wants anything. If he gets snacks and a drink then so does Fukidashi :))

Kamakiri doesn’t really like PDA but Fukidashi would kinda ignore that and always give him hugs. Kamakiri’s grown to not care anymore but Fukidashi respects his boundaries so they never kiss or anything like that in public. Hugging and secret hand-holding is okay with Kamakiri but nothing too extreme

Fukidashi has definitely drawn Kamakiri without realizing it like, okay so, he’ll just be bored and kinda zoned out so he just draws and just let his hand do whatever it wants and then when he sees that he’s drawn Kamakiri, he’s like “Oh wait,,, Oh I drew Kamakiri OOPS”

So it's not sorting members and biases, but how would you rank weki meki albums (by whatever criteria you feel like doing lol)?

ooooo hmmmmmm............. thats interesting..... okay i’ll try it haha

WeMe - i actually went into making this list thinking that Lucky would be number 1, but the more i think about it and look at the tracklist... actually i think it’s WeMe lol. IDLYG is such a unique debut song and i dont care what anyone else says lol, i adore that song. Stay With Me is pretty iconic too. it’s not necessarily one of my favorite bsides of theirs, but it’s good. Neverland is underrated though for sure, i really like that song. and then Fantastic is honestly a candidate for being my favorite Weki Meki bside haha that song is just so... i dont even know, lol. undercover. superlover.

Lucky - this is one of the most solid mini albums in kpop, imo. Lucky is a fantastic intro, La La La is such an underrated title track, Iron Boy and Metronome both slap... i like the album’s vibe a lot

Hide and Seek - Oopsy is great, and Dazzle Dazzle was included on the album too, and normally when previous non-album singles are included in a subsequent album i think it’s kind of a waste of a space, but in terms of making a list like this, i gotta factor in the fact that this album has two title tracks on it lol. in this instance that’s a good thing. but not just that, Moya Moya is another one of my favorite bsides from them. The Paradise is fantastic too, i really wanna see what other stuff Suyeon writes if this is what we can expect haha. honestly with how much i wrote about this one... maybe i even like it more than Lucky? i’ve been thinking that Lucky is their best or one of their best mini albums for basically the whole time that i’ve been into Weki Meki, so i’m gonna have to put more thought into this before i make a decision that drastic hahaha. for me, that’s a big deal lol, i dont wanna just declare Hide and Seek better than Lucky unless im 100% sure. i’ll ruminate on this

Lock End LOL/Week End LOL - okay, so, this single album is above their other remaining mini album. oops. normally i wouldnt ever put a single album above a mini album (and probably wouldnt put a mini album above a full album), but like... this one has PICKY PICKY and TIKI TAKA lmao... i’ve listened to Tiki Taka more than countless other songs from groups i also love, and i’ve probably listened to Picky Picky more than i’ve listened to some entire groups, lol. and Whatever U Want is ANOTHER favorite bside. Petal Fortune is nice, i like it, but it’s not something i listen to that often. but so those first three songs are incredible and they literally (not a joke) changed my life haha, Picky Picky is my favorite kpop song of all time... but the reason this album isn’t higher is just because tbh i would need another banger song, i think. at least one more. it has my favorite song on it, but it is just a single album, even with the Tiki Taka repackage.

Kiss Kicks - okay now things are getting controversial. Crush isn’t my favorite title track and i’ve made no secret of that lol (but i do still love it, dont get me wrong), but i love True Valentine. ive been saying various bsides are “possibly my favorite”, but i think if i had to actually pick one (and only one) favorite bside right now, it’d probably be True Valentine. but so the controversial thing about this placement probably isnt the fact that Kiss Kicks is so low... because it’s only a single album with just three songs on it.... the controversial thing is that this album is above-

New Rules - sjdklmvldsfg,sf;lg. i LOVE Cool. it was my fifth favorite song last year, which is like super high praise from me lol, i put a LOT of thought into my top 10 list. being in my top 5 is like putting it in the S Tier lol. but uhhhhh idk... i’m just not feeling any of the bsides. Just Us, the one that the members wrote, is nice and it’s meaningful but it’s not something i’ve listened to very often. i dont even remember D-Day (that’s my bad, i should listen to it again). and Sweet Dreams... i know a lot of people like it, but... and this is gonna be a controversial opinion... i just can’t get into it. i could elaborate on that but i’ve written enough already lol... i don’t hate it, it just doesnt really work for me, it’s hard to explain.... well anyway lol. Remus was one of the 2 sons of the king of this as of currently generic steampunk world, where Dee was one of his body guards and Virgil was actually the son of one of the court entertainers but he was also a great mechanic so he was useful around the Steampunk Castle or whatever. However there was an attempt on the royal lives where some people blew up the palace during a big function like a ball. They killed the king and queen successfully. They didn’t get Remus or Roman (and Remus knows Roman isn’t dead, and is doggedly searching for him), though the explosion did take out both his legs and Dee’s hand (and badly scared Dee’s face). Virgil took them both to Logan, who was a one of the leading mechanics in the area especially in the realm of prosthetics. (Remus had met Logan multiple times, and really liked him A Lot, which is why he has an owl tattooed on his chest. I mean he also saved his life so that’s Hot but he liked him before that anyway. He’s not convinced Logan likes him back but Logan did get a matching octopus tattoo so ???? But after they went on the run, he hasn’t seen Logan since. He hopes he’s alright (Logan’s with Roman jfkhslhgsg dramatic irony) and he really hopes to find him again someday)

Dee’s hand is multi-purpose now, so it’s a functioning hand which can retract to sprout (?? not the word i want but :/ oh well) a blade. Dee decides to take this as a blessing because now he always has a weapon On Hand (ha) to defend Remus with. Despite the fact the monarchy has solidly fallen over now, Dee takes his security job even more seriously than before. It’s probably because they end up in more dangerous trouble a lot more often now, and it’s totally not because he just Likes Remus a lot too.

Virgil got away mostly unscathed, especially seeing as he was nowhere near the ballroom at the time, and he’s the one who makes sure his idiot friends’ limbs are still functioning. Because of his dad, he is also a surprisingly good dancer. This comes in more handy than you’d think.

Virgil is the braincell of the group. Remus is the muscle. Deceit is kinda the leader?? He has a lot of technical knowledge but not a lot of Street Smarts (virgil’s job). he’s also the one who makes sure they don’t Die most of the time. Remus knows a lot about the world in like super detached ‘i was taught this out of books’ way. The three of them make an amazing team esp when it comes to scavenging and dodging authority; because people are either looking for the royal sons to put them back on the throne (which is a little dodgy??) or to finish the job ie kill them (which is even more dodgy lmao).

Session.... what are we at four?

I lost track. Oops. Thankfully tumblr is in reverse chronological order so it’s not actually an issue.

I WAS WRONG THIS IS SESSION NUMBER FIVE.

I am So Pumped for flavoring out my new spells that I almost forgot I needed to type this play by play--- which is super important because this week was full of dark humor and stupidity.

We started the session with all the players plus a giest and Ugly, our ~8ft by ~4ft scaab, having barged into a kindly (yet grumpy) man’s house and locking ourselves in for temporary shelter from an approaching cult. We were all pretty beat; with our cleric and necro-alchemist having just kicked the shit out of each other, and a ghost having kicked the shit out of my character. No one even thought to ask this dude’s name before our dumb asses started in on our bullshit. War cleric Mikela immediately found a crack in the boarded up windows to watch the cultists pass by. Sibyl, necro-alchemist, put herself in a cozy corner to sit out the rest of her post-brawl-trauma. After sitting Ugly in front of the door as a barricade, and offering a hollow and uninterested ‘sorry’ to the guy who’s door we just damn near broke down, my scaberen Uriel got hit with a wave of paranoia and started rifling through all the guy’s stuff looking for traps to disarm or Something. Before the man got too angry Mikela came around and spoke to him some and Uriel sat their dumb ass down next to Sibyl in the quiet corner to also chill the fuck out.

Mikela asked the man some questions about the town, and the cult, and all the happenings; then hit the helpful giest with some as well. We learned that before the cult started showing up two orphans appeared in town, a young man and his even younger brother. They were from a neighboring town, and were recently orphaned by something bloody and unpleasant. Unsatisfied with these answers, Mikela did some scouting from the upstairs window, got a second wind or Something, and decided that we should immediately leave the shelter we just worked so hard to Get Into and chase these cultist jerks down. Right Now. After all, the cult was recruiting--- or something loud--- just a few streets over, and we might not get this chance again before they kill more innocents. Uriel argued against this for a bit, since shes a coward they got indoors to Rest and that it would be stupid to throw ourselves back into battle unprepared and we should Really just take advantage of Finally being under a roof for a while. Sibyl agreed, more or less, that it was probably dangerous and stupid to back out without healing. This went back and forth for a bit, as it does. I manage to get a Super Abridged version of the script I had written out for learning All Of Sibyl’s Mysterious Secrets... got basically nothing outta her :P Scripts don’t work in RP settings, I get that now. Mikela did a healing spell that brought everyone back up to full health and the party agreed to head out.

We decide to leave Ugly with the man in his home, but the guy takes a little bit of prodding to agree to that. Uriel--- not totally over the paranoia from earlier--- is a huge asshole to him and he gives the party a time limit of three hours to get the hell back and take their awful zombie abomination. She almost commands Ugly to destroy the fucking house if they’re not back in time but Ugly is a good boy and wouldn’t have done that anyways ;w;b. The party stealths on over to where the Loud Cult Noises are coming from. There’s this... ascension? of very colorful giests centered around where we are headed. Sibyl is the only one who notices this and calmly instructs Mikela and Uriel to keep cool, and for Uriel specifically Not To Look Up. Uriel apparently really trusts Sibyl because she listened... until Mikela failed her perception and fucking started screaming. That many giests simply isn’t normal so... we were all pretty shook okay?

Mikela’s scream alerted some of the cultists and we scrambled to hide. Uriel and Sibyl hid fabulously in the alleys... the exact same alley... in the same spot... against what our plans were. Mikela went upwards and scaled a building which.... wasn’t very stealthy but the cultists never bothered to look up, so ultimately the best hiding spot. Uriel tried distracting the cultists by throwing a gold coin into their area--- hoping it would distract them and they’d fight over it. It failed, they ignored it. Sibyl tried to divert their attentions to a near by area by firing a flame spell into said area.... which also failed and blew our cover.

The cultists were unable to hit either Sibyl or Uriel with attacks normally, BUT THEN one of Sibyl’s ghost-spells backfired a bit and she started glowing Very Brightly, blinding the enemies and also Uriel. Uriel was able to land a devastating hit on one of the cultists even when blind before backing the hell up and regaining her eyesight. Mikela got the jump (ha) on the enemies by launching herself off the building and into the fray, doing a lot of damage. Sibyl- still super glowy- electrocuted one of the cultists with a VERY COOL TASER GAUNTLET. Uriel ended the battle by strangling the remaining cultist into unconsciousness. Mikela looted the body and shouldered the unconscious dude and Uriel tried to carry the dead guy--- saying it would be disrespectful or something to just Leave It There Like That. Definitely not weird scaberen motivations no sir. We ended up giving the dead guy to Katya (who is here in spirit for this game- and here for when we can’t do things with our own bad strength stats) to carry.

The group hears the loud cultists from a neighboring road fussing over ‘that strange glow over there’ (Sibyl) and heading our way. The party runs through the town in weird ways to throw the group off our tail until Sibyl stops glowing, and then runs even more after that; we weren't able to shake them. The dead guy was leaking and leaving a blood trail. The group deliberates for a bit and decides to tourniquet the bleeding leg just above the offending wound, then cut the rest of it off and make a fake blood trail away from where we were going. The amputation is done with Great Somberness (because its so morbid on the party’s part, and because it’s ruining an other wise Lovey Corpse on Uriel’s). Uriel is then given the leg to make the fake trail with, which they do gladly.... probably having a bit too much fun splattering blood everywhere in the process.

The group returns to the grumpy man’s house with a body and a hostage and don’t immediately see the grumpy man. We find him barricaded on the top floor of his house with a spear poking out his only sight hole, ranting about how he KNEW that beastly thing was going to come after him, and trying to stab poor Sibyl who and just wanted to let him know we came back. Both Sibyl and Mikela try to talk the guy down, while Uriel is losing their god damn mind laughing at the situation. The hostage begins to awaken (Sibyl punches him), catching the guy’s attention. He disarms and sees Uriel and Katya holding a limp form, and Mikela shouldering a gagged and bound man. Pretty sure Uriel blew whatever positive progress we made on the grumpy dudes mental state with all the laughter and smirking... especially after asking What The Fuck she was holding. The group leave him alone to work with the hostage downstairs.

Mikela and Sibyl work a bit on getting the hostage to stop Screaming--- half because he’ll attract unwanted attention and half because, you just can’t interrogate like that. Uriel steps in and tells the guy that if he doesn’t shut up they’ll feed him to Ugly (who is still sitting in front of the door being a Good Boy). He stops screaming and pisses himself, which is gross on its own, yeah, but Mikela still had him on her shoulder. Uriel falls back into hysteric laughter as Mikela doffs her armor as quickly as fuckin’ possible. She then hurls all the piss covered armor at Uriel, who effortlessly dodges it. The armor hits Ugly--- making Uriel laugh even Harder--- then it tries putting ON the pissy armor--- and at this point Uriel is basically crying. Mikela is busy cleaning herself off, and Uriel is trying to regain composure, so Sibyl starts the interrogation on our prisoner.

The interrogation is pretty long, Sibyl asks a few questions before Mikela takes over, and eventually Uriel joins the group mostly to observe. We learn that this guy had Literally Just Joined the cult today. He joined because the church’s protections aren’t doing Shit in this crappy fucked up little town and almost everyone here is totally disillusioned. The dude Sibyl killed was the only person he actually Knew in the whole cult and he really couldn’t offer us much info on members... or really much of anything. He didn’t know the name of the demon they follow--- only that it’s name began with an N and that it was calling itself ‘the whispered one’ and ‘the heir to Griselbrand’ (which Uriel pointed out, is kinda stupid, why follow some lesser demon when Griselbrand is still in power?). Around here is when Sibyl checked out to work on her Mystery Notes... and Uriel got bored almost immediately after when the leader was described. The cult is run by a young twiggy male with long blond hair, and he often has a child with him (not even a partial demon or something cool and grotesque--- why even bother). Mikela asked some more questions and eventually came to the conclusion that it was the weird orphans from earlier who are now running the cult. I hope I got all the deets from that- this was Late Game and I’m not the best note taker lmao.

When Uriel got bored with the interrogation she noticed that Sibyl had left the room and, quietly, went to go find her. Sibyl had taken out the same note-filled bible from the other night and was flipping through it. Uriel got close enough to see the pages that Sibyl was focused on were written in code--- code that Sibyl obviously didn’t know. She startled Sibyl by asking what was up and took 3 points of head-to-jaw damage when Sibyl jumped up and bolted. Nosy persistence didn’t really pay off much for Uriel; Sibyl claimed to not know what the book was about, or if it was related to the cult-shit, and just gave some really vague and suspect answers that Uriel took at face value. And, although Sibyl is the most interesting character overall, Mikela barged into the room with her “ITS THE ORPHANS” revelation and won Sibyl some reprieve from my nosy character.

Uriel and Mikela discuss the orphans a bit, the ghost tells us that the town they are from is still there- but gives us Cryptic Horse Shit about how far away the town is from where we are. While we’re all distracted our hostage slips out of his restraints and flees the house, and we Only notice because the door is squeaky. As he leaves he says “I’m not the only one who’s heard the call” and we see a bunch more people walking towards where the cultists Probably are. Spooky.

The campaign ends here, and I shortly after realize I forgot entirely about the body I should have been working with... OOPS. I’m honestly only even mentioning that here because I don’t want to forget about it AGAIN come next week I need that for spells.

And per usual, not proof reading or anything, and I don’t trust that I didn’t miss details- I kinda check out sometimes on other peoples turns... Its the curse of an ADHD attention span without visual input ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I try.

you can honestly feel the blush on your cheeks as minhyun waves and disappears back into the room like wow okay your cheeks are bURNING

and your niece runs out with her bag in her hands and basically drags you out of the kindergarten tbh you’re still completely in shock

from that day onwards you’re a regular at the music class

at first some of the kids are like ?? why are you here?? but once your niece explains they accept you like a second teacher

after about a week minhyun recruits you to play an instrument

at first he tries getting you to play piano with him but that’s a bit too crowded there’s only one piano stool

so uh welcome resident triangle player

it’s an easy job but you’re not going to complain i mean

playing tv theme songs with minhyun is surprisingly fun and really it’s the highlight of your day

one day after you had a particularly rough day;; you got stuck in the barriers at the train station and your scarf went missing

minhyun noticed and let you sit in the special chair in the corner of the room that looked a bit like a throne to play triangle

instead of having to stand up or sit in one of the kiddy chairs

by this time you’re about three weeks into the 2 months

and it was time to start preparing for the showcase which your brother was returning from japan to see

one day he asks you to stay a bit later to help him pick out a song

and of course you agree

you let your niece go to the corner to play with the toys while you and minhyun chat and discuss the ideas

while you two are brainstorming what song to do, he suddenly puts his hand on your shoulder lmao you got a bit shook

‘hey,, y/n… can you perform on stage with me at this recital?? i’d really like it if you could!!!’

who are you to deny this beautiful angel this request

‘of course i’ll play with you!! it’s only the triangle though i’m not sure how supportive that will be lol’

he just flashes his eye smile and winks at the kids not even denying it

that is until one friday minhyun asks you to stay behind again

and right as you’re waiting for the kids to go out one of the parents approaches you and is like

‘hey!! my son told me you and minhyun are married!! congratulations on scoring the guy all the parents here are secretly swooning over lol’

and you blush a lot bc omg no we’re not married not even dating

you just mumble a thank you and go back to waiting for them all to leave

when they’re all done leaving minhyun asks your niece to step out of the room for a second

and so she does wow obedient child

minhyun suddenly takes ahold of your hand and he breathes in and out like really deeply bless nervous boy

‘uh;; y/n;; i really like you?? and i want us to date?? but if you don’t that’s okay??’

WHAT

you don’t even need to think you already know your answer

he hugs you really really tight and you can hear him breathe a sigh of relief bless

CUE ONE MONTH OF TRYING TO HIDE YOUR RELATIONSHIP

kids are super perceptive but obviously because you two keep denying it they drop it well kinda

they just say it a bit less often lol

when it gets to the day of the recital/showcase thing

you two are planning your big reveal at his apartment while your niece is at her parents seeing as they’re back from japan now lol

and you’re helping minhyun change into his suit ready to leave

and sjfgshgfj omg he looks so good in a suIT YOU’RE ALMOST DYING

you were just going to wear jeans and a tshirt to play triangle but minhyun passes you a box and inside is like a really smart outfit that he picked himself and it looks really expensive lmao how did this kindergarten teacher afford this

but you go and get changed

you look so good he can’t resist kissing you UH

but no time to waste you gotta goooo to the recital

minhyun starts on stage but as always his class is last

and when it’s their turn you’re backstage with them cheering them on when your niece turns to you and says

you just wink at her and boom time to go onstage

THE SONG GOES DOWN SO WELL though it’s amazing

you spot your brother in the audience and send him a wave in the gap in your triangle playing

the song ends and minhyun does the thing where you tap the microphone

‘hello everyone i have an announcement to make’

the hall is just completely silent like boy better not be resigning

of course he’s not he loves the kids too much

‘the school has a new permanent triangle player!! they’re y/n and we are in love!!’

ALL the kids suddenly cheer and you can hear about 20 of them just saying ‘i knew it i bet on it you owe me $3 pay up’ I’M KIDDING

then minhyun does the cheesiest thing

yea he kisses you in front of everyone

when you look back over at you brother he is just clapping wildly and giving you a thumbs up wow brothers approval

BUT ANYWAY

from that day on you two are the cutest couple

you’re officially the triangle player for the whole kindergarten

i mean the kindergarten doesn't pay you but they should by now because you’re there literally 24/7

you move in with minhyun and you spend 90% of the day together but it's cute

when your niece comes to stay it's always so cute because

you 3 crowd around his electric piano and sing songs together (there's no triangle for you to play here sorry)

and those moments really make you look forward to your future together...

Height: You know, I don’t actually know. We used to get periodically measured on the wall as kids, but that was forever ago and I don’t remember the last time I checked my height. Probably around 5″6?

Favorite bands: Let me think here... Fall Out Boy, Set It Off, Kodaline, Imagine Dragons to name a few. It’s difficult to tell because my music tastes are so all over the show that it’s not often I listen to whole albums or several songs from one band.

Favorite solo artist: This is the same issue ahahahah well I consistently really like Avicii, although I have no idea if he counts.

Song stuck in my head: Grace Kelly by MIKA at the moment. MIKA is hella underrated you guys

Last movie I saw: Thor Ragnarok. My brother was watching it on his birthday and I ended up watching it with him.

What do I post?: Almost nothing lmao my posts are entirely of tag things like this and one Persona post I made forever ago. The rest of my blog consists mainly of reblogs of things I love or find hilarious.

Do I have any other blogs?: Nope! I’ve considered it multiple times before, but I haven’t ever worked up the effort.

Why did I choose my URL?: I like fire, and I like unusual looking words, and pyr fit the bill. I’m not so sure about where the first part came into play but it seemed to work together nicely.

Average hours of sleep? : Oooof not a lot. My tendency to sleep at 4am combined with my habit of setting multiple alarms way earlier than I actually need to get up in the mornings mean I probably average out at maybe 4/5 hours of solid sleep.

Lucky number: None, but if I had one it would have to be odd. I don’t like even numbers for some reason.

Instruments: Used to play piano about 7 years ago. Other than that, zilch.

What am I wearing? : Pyjamas. The ultimate comfort.

Dream Trip: Thailand, New Zealand, Canada, or anywhere that’s super pretty with lots of vegetation and beautiful scenery. And good food.

Last book I read: Be More Chill by Ned Vizzini, because I loved the musical. I honestly found the beginning of the book a little unbearable, but it picked up way more when the Squip was introduced and ended up not bad overall.

gonna do it all at once bc i’ll forget lmaooo. this is my most recent tc (coach tho) bc ummmm i need to let this out somewhere oml

1. name 3 qualities that define your tc’s personality.

probably confident, genuine, sarcastic

2. describe your tc’s teaching style.

since he’s a coach, he’s actually really one-on-one and constantly gives advice on what you’re doing and how to improve/change things so that you get better. he also gives reasons as to why these changes work and provides actual examples, which is awesome. definitely a huge step up from the old coach kek.

3. if your tc had a superpower, what would it be?

lol uhhh heck idk

4. what is a character flaw of your tc?

probably that he’s sometimes overconfident? weird way to put it, but we’ll go with that

5. what gives you hope that they like you?

i don’t think they like me, but they’re super nice and friendly to everyone

6. tell me about the last dream you had of your tc.

oddly enough, he hasn’t been a focus of my dreams yet, but my dreams rarely have a plot or focus lol

7. has your tc ever made you upset?

not really?

uhhh i mean i try at practice, but that’s also partly because i actually want to get better (butalsoyaknow)

yeah lol, and it’s all public. tbh i was surprised he was so open with his social media since he’s coached at other places before

uh judging by what i know, probably on the poorer side... but like a post-college student poor. still doing well though

like a quick-witted roast if that makes any sense. also just calling people out for things they wouldn’t admit to (in the best way possible). i love that sort of blatant humor ahaha

i mean i’ve never seen him with a beard, but he usually keeps it shaven/scruff

i genuinely do not know

18. how do others view your tc?

he’s definitely popular with everyone since he’s friendly with the whole team. pretty sure some girls like him as well, but at the same time some people think he’s extra.

19. what if your tc’s relationship status was reversed?

well he has a gf right now... so idk. i don’t really know what would change hmm..

20. would you want children with your tc?

ok let’s take a few steps back boi

21. do you call him by his title (mr.) or do you avoid it?

coach [first name]. but so many people skip the coach part but he was kinda clear that he wanted to still be called coach lol

22. would you consider them a dog person or cat person?

probably a dog person

23. how would you tell your tc about your feelings if you had to?

irl, i would most likely never, but if i had to, probably after i graduated and came back to visit the team. then i have no idea where to go from there oops

24. do you know how your tc dresses outside of work?

ironically since he’s a coach, i see him dressed in athletic clothes/warm ups more often than i see him dressed regularly. he’s kinda into fashion and stuff, so he presents himself pretty nicely, which is super admirable. stuff like tailored coats, scarf, boots, cardigans

25. what are they like when they are upset?

when he’s angry at the team, he definitely yells a bit. he curses a bit too, but he usually does anyways. usually his anger is backed up with a reason though, so he doesn’t lash out often.

26. where do you sit in relation to their desk?

desk what desk :^)

27. do they know another language?

not that i know of

28. what do you have in common with your tc?

probably similar sense of humor and work ethic/drive?

29. have you texted/messaged your tc?

our team mainly uses facebook to communicate, so i’ve messaged him (not friended him) about related stuff only.

30. what is the most frequent tc daydream you play in your head?

HONEstly this is so sad, but i think about just holding a nice conversation with him a lot. like one of those conversations that just keeps itself going and doesn’t really die down until a long while later? a good conversation with anyone is nice, and usually so many things come up and you get to learn about them in so many different ways

31. if you could say one more sentence to your tc before graduation, what would it be?

In all honesty, just how much I appreciated his dedication to our team and whatnot. the previous coach was nowhere near as personally invested in our team as he was, and his dedication to the sport is pretty infectious.

Whats your opinion on the headcanon that bakugou is hard of hearing because of how loud his explosions are? If you dont mind my asking

I think I answered this q on this blog already? Maybe? But anyway, I don’t exactly mind it, but I can’t say I share the headcanon myself - for one, because I’m of the opinion that their bodies are built to withstand a safe use of their quirks (a bit like you can’t break a leg by simply walking, you know), so in general I’m not a fan of headcanons that include damages caused by simply doing what their bodies were born to do?

But also because generally, even under the assumption that his body isn’t made to hold up with his explosions, isn’t it awfully convenient how only his ears take damage in these scenarios? What about his eyes? How come he can still see with no problems even with the continuous exposure to the explosions’ light? How about his hair? How come he can stand so close to fire without it ever being damaged by it? His palms have thicker skin and we know that thanks to his UA file, but what about the rest of his body? How come he can stand smack in the middle of an Howitzer Impact without getting even slightly burnt? When you say “only his ears aren’t made to withstand his explosions” what you’re telling me is that his whole body is tailord to deal with his quirk but his ears, and that just feels unrealistic to me - by which I mean, when this is the scenario we’re talking about, you can’t give the fault of the damage to Bakugou’s quirk. It’s a problem his body has, not a natural consequence of having that sort of quirk. And imho with those premises you sort of end up with a different kind of story, you’re supposed to write it differently - that’s what I think, at least

Ah, this is also another reason why I’m not a huge fan of the headcanon - don’t get me wrong! If you like it then go on, I’m not trying to stop anyone from enjoying ideas and possibilities!! But personally I like Bakugou not having any reason to be loud-mouthed and rude, that’s just his personality and how the environment he grew up in made him, and lately I’ve seen the hc used to justify his behaviour more than I like? Bakugou being an asshole is just who he is, and I love it! I love that his life made him like that and I love that he’s working hard to fix that flaw, giving him an external reason, something he has no control over, to justify his personality changes the core of his character too much, and that’s not something I’d ever want to do tbh

And it’s also cool to think that he was somewhat genetically engineered to be better in a fight to compensate for a lack of earing (though again, why only his ears and not his eyes or his sense of tact too), but that goes to cut on all the hard work he put in becoming as good as he is, right? If that’s what you like than who am I to stop you! But Bakugou’s hardworking nature is one of the things I love about him, I don’t really feel like taking away from him all the effort and work he put through the years in becoming as good as he is now

Uh, well, it’s not like I “haven’t considered” doing it, but more than a collage it’s… just how I always draw? Only usually I cut the pics for each of them to be a different image so they’re easier to see, while yesterday I was too lazy to do that and left them all on the same canvas haha so I guess yeah next time I’ll feel like drawing krkm if you’d like I can leave the drawings all in one pic, that’s just less work for me after all lol

LONG ASS POST WARNING ⚠️

This is for people who have read my fic Guys my age / Pure… it's a messy stream of consciousness big surprise.

Okay so if you're here, you either follow me on tumblr and are curious (thank you) but may be confused because I'm in the YOI fandom or you're from the 5sos fandom and are confused because when did I become a YOI blog? Well, I didn't expect the show to eat me alive but that's what happened oops.

Anyway, this is about Pure. Because I didn't update for a long time but now I've finished it and I'm going to be releasing the last chapter so I just wanted to talk about that and my A/N was already too long lol.

For one, I just want to be very upfront about saying that writing Pure was a turning point for me, both in my writing and just in life. When i first started writing Pure, I was getting over a bad breakup, my first real one ever actually. In the relationship I was in, I was very emotionally uncared for. I wouldn't say it was abuse by any means, but I wasn't understood. I wasn't supported emotionally. My views were seen as naive and in time surely I would begin thinking “the right way”. I was very suppressed, and parts of me have been suppressed my whole life, even out of a relationship. In this relationship, I never felt desired, I never felt beautiful. “Cute”, “quirky”, “smart”, sure. But those are things anyone can pick up from the outside (or not). But I never felt like the person I was with could see me for who I really was, or who I wanted to be, no matter how much I tried to tell him.

Since then, I've gone through another breakup and a series of failed dates. I'm young, I'm going through that time in my life where this is to be expected.

But writing pure helped me so much.

I wrote Luke that way for a reason, and I wrote Calum that way for a reason. (And Ashton and Mike too). Luke is me, he's young and he doesn't have a clue what he's doing but he finds someone he connects with and not just on a level that people can see from the outside, but on a level that is very private to them and it's more unspoken, indescribable. They're soulmates.

At the end of the day, Pure started out as just a weird au where Luke finds a boyfriend on a bdsm blog but it really turned into me exploring who I am, what I want in a relationship, my sexual awakening tbh… everything. Writing this story showed me that I deserve someone who understands my mind, body, and soul. Someone who can love me patiently and passionately…. I guess it helped me realize I need my “cal” lmao.

But anyway, this isn't about my personal/writing journey. To the story.

I really hit a block after chapter 10-11. I feel like people did not like that Calum was a designer, more specifically that he designed lingerie. I actually got really pissed off because of this perceived thought that people didn't like it because there was little to no positive comments about it, but some just didn't even comment on it at all. I got pissed and I was like, fuck this, I'm going to stop writing this story and then I started writing Otayuri and threw caution to the wind.

But then I promised I was going to finish Pure (a while ago) and that wasn't because I feel like I owe anybody anything, it's because it really was my baby. It helped me. It's my story, and I wanted to take my time and finish it for myself. I think one thing I really learned was that I was looking for validation or approval, that what I was writing was good.

I've been writing fanfic on the internet since like 2011 or something. I've always been affected by comments, I've always wanted to hear that I am capable.

And chapter 10 was something I was nervous about. I had this whole idea of my version of Calum in my head and when I didn't get the reaction I was hoping for, I felt so defeated. And I fell out of love with writing this story that up until that point had consumed me the way writing should. Now I'm not saying that my writing is a masterpiece and I demand hundreds of comments, I never expect that. But at the time I was really butt-hurt tbh.

I see so many fics (especially now in the YOI fandom no tea no shade) that are so dry and boring and try to be funny but are not. And these are often stories that are the most popular in the fandom/for the ship. I understand that a lot of this has to do with taste, and I'm very sure that Pure was not everyone's taste, certainly not everyone's humor. But something awesome happened when I re-read it and was determined to finish it … it was like I had just started writing it again.

And writing the ending was perfect (for me). Every creator knows that “full circle” moment where you know your work is done. Not perfect, not what everyone wants, but done. And I'm so content with how it ends.

I learned that I don't need comments to validate me, because I love my writing. It has mistakes because I don't have a beta. It's not perfect, or popular, or moving prose. But I love my style and it makes me happy.

But what I'm trying to say, and I've reblogged so many posts about this, but comments are important. I kind of have this “I don't give a fuck I'm going to write when and what I want” now, but that's very recent and I might still be insecure about it sometimes. But not every writer is in the same place. If you're a writer yourself, you understand how hard it is to share a world you built in your mind and have no one else care. It's not a good feeling, it's definitely not motivating.

So please, PLEASE leave comments on every fic you read. It literally takes five extra minutes. I'm guilty of it too, but I sincerely try.

I also want to address that I'm basically out of the 5sos fandom, like that even needs to be addressed? I'm not really embarrassed of them or anything, I love the boys and I am so happy for Michael MY BABY like y'all don't even understand how good it is to see him so happy lately. I don't even care if people don't like crystal she's an angel for making my boy happy.

I'm still going to support the boys, I just don't care to be in the fandom anymore. I feel like it's dying out and it's so sad because I remember the good old days when things were so fun (how fleeting they were). If any Michael girls out there ever want to reminisce about the good old days I'm here for it lol.

But once I'm finished updating Pure, I'm not going to be writing any more 5sos fanfic or be posting any more 5sos content here (obviously). If you're still following me and you don't even like YOI, I love you so fucking much. Seriously talk to me anytime because you are so sweet.

And honestly, I don't know where my writing will go. I'm super happy writing for YOI now, I have a lot of ideas, but I had to finish Pure first because I owed it to myself. It's literally closing a book in my writing journey.

I don't know how long I will continue writing fanfic for (probably forever because it's my hobby), and I don't know what fandoms I will write for in the future. Will my writing ever be better? I don't know. Will I ever be a popular fic writer? Probably not. And I'm actually okay with that now, because I'm just writing for my own enjoyment now, and if you like it then that's awesome and I love having your support.

I also want to say thank you to everyone who did leave comments on almost every chapter of pure or messaged me about it here. Thank you, and I hope the ending was at least a little worth the wait.
