When is Boblin Week?

This ship week will take place from May 22nd-May 26th , and each day will have two corresponding prompts.

What are the prompts?

Day 1: Habits/Whisper

Day 2: Tender/Gentle

Day 3: Worry/Morning

Day 4: Growth/Reflection

Day 5: Starry/Dance

How should prompts be used?

Feel free to interpret the prompts in any manner you see fit. You can use both, one, or neither, and they can be expressed through the artistic medium of your choosing.

Boblin week 2023, day 1: whisper/habit

I wrote a very short oneshot! I just know there are no secrets between these two

Linda likes to tell Bob everything.

She didn’t know why, she just does. From the little things, like the new dishwashing song she just made up, to the bigger things, like when her parents are coming to visit.

Suffice to say, Linda wasn’t very good at keeping secrets.

That time Gretchen told Linda about her super secret new boyfriend? Yeah, Bob knew within the hour. Gayle’s latest conspiracies about her cats she called her sister about? Bob was right next to his wife on the other line.

Bob still remembers the first time she ever told him a secret. He couldn’t remember what she told him, he was far too distracted by the feeling of her breath on his skin and how her hand cupped around his ear. It was in that moment, when a chill went down his spine and his heart pounded out of his chest, that Bob knew he fell in love.

Even after years of marriage, Linda still loved to tell him things. Even more so, Bob relished in hearing what she had to say.

Today was no different. As they were closing up for the night, Linda was once again caught up on the phone with Ginger, just in time for their weekly catch-up. Based on what Bob could overhear, Ginger had some drama going on with her friends at home. Something about her alley raccoons? Bob couldn’t tell, he was only following what Linda loudly repeated as he cleaned the grease trap.

“Good night, hon,” Linda said as she hung up the landline. Bob could hear a muffled “good night” from the other end before the line cut out.

“You’ll never believe it, Bobby! I was just on the phone with Ginger.”

“Yeah, I heard.”

“And she told me the craziest thing! Let me whisper it,” Linda said, moving closer to Bob by the kitchen window. She cupped her hand by Bob’s ear like he loved so and leaned forward. So Ginger said that-“

“Lin, I heard. You were shouting.”

“I was not! My voice wasn’t above a whisper.”

Bob couldn’t help but smile at his wife and all her stubbornness.

“I love you, Linda.”

I'm not nearly as far into my boblin prompts as I'd like. I'm going to be on vacation the entirety of Boblin Week so I have to get the stories done beforehand. I'm just struggling with their voices; I know that the event is supposed to be fun, but I'm an anxious overachiever with moderate OCD and a strong fear or rejection.

Boblin Week is much more stressful than Louigan Week. people already hate me for shipping louigan so who gives a shit if they hate my work? I can be freer and more experimental with my stories there. Boblin, however, is the central, primary ship of the entire series. Without boblin there isn't any "Bob's Burgers."

I want to have a good time but I want to do a good job as well. I want to offer authentic, genuine, organic works that really embody the series and the ship. I'm well aware that I'm putting a lot of emphasis on a fandom week. I just--more than wanting compliments--don't want complaints, if that makes any sense.
