Okay.
Let me make something QUITE clear!
No genocide is justifiable.
Whether it’s one that’s already happened (the Holocaust, the Armenian Genocide, The Sayfo (LOOK IT UP!!!), the Anfal genocide, the Bosnian genocide, the Rwanda genocide, the Killing Fields in Cambodia, the 1973 Bengali genocide (fucking hell, Pakistan!), etc), one that may be unfolding right now, or one that’s entirely hypothetical and imagined by delusional freaks.
There is no defence for marking en entire people as being born guilty and inherently irredeemable and thus somehow deserving of being murdered en masse on the basis of their race, religion (that includes ethnoreligion), disability/ies, or any other such factor.
Nor is there any defence, reason, rationale or justification for inciting genocide.
None.
Not one.
Zero.
It is WRONG.
Indefensible.
Completely!
It is indefensible.
It was indefensible.
It will be indefensible.
It has always been indefensible.
Nothing that you do, say, or think can even justify any atrocities of that kind!
If anyone tells you otherwise, they are lying. And they most likely KNOW that they’re lying!
And if you buy into that shite, then you are a dangerous fucking MORON and a delusional pricklet what should probably be kept FAR away from society!
If you think otherwise, you are STUPID.
Stupid AND dangerous. And if you cannot now see that, then you will DIE stupid, in perpetual ignorance and it will be your own damn fault.
End it.
Starting yesterday.

through this person's incredible bravery, Indians who stand with Palestine, Indians who have to spend their days under a fascist regime, have a representation that does them justice.
our voices of dissent have been crushed through harrowing persecution.
in 1981, India issued a postage stamp with the Indian and Palestinian flags flying side by side, and the words "Solidarity with the Palestinian people." India was the first non-arab country to recognize the state of Palestine.

the country i have lived in for 18 years is a dignified member of the post-colonial world. its citizens have moral backbones. they are often murdered or imprisoned for having it.

Someone mircoagressed me last week by saying that islam doesn't let women get educated "based on what he's seen." unlike judaism and modern chirstianity, where education is led by women.
Maybe if you stop doing silly little things like decimating every single university in a muslim state that had high rates of female literacy and education ❤️
This guy is an athiest traumatized by church, but somehow it all translated to a hatred of islam over anything.
These people really don't see what huge white supremacists they are. The new norm for white people is to let go of all religion. You aren't unique or special for choosing that. It's your current norm.
And they get so mad when you refuse to drop your personal beliefs and bend to their current mainstream ideology as well. What does that sound liKKKe?

Nothing more embarrassing than the Desis running around every loophole they can find not to support Palestine. “Oh Arabs are racist to us. Why should we care?” Because it’s the right fucking thing to do, you sack of shit. If you are a South Asian whose own country has been violently colonized and oppressed, and you can watch all these atrocities and still only think about yourself, you’re just a waste of life atp. No backbone, no values, you don’t deserve to be here. Like yes, I know South Asians get treated horribly and taken advantage of in Arab countries. I know a lot of them look down on us. Lmao I’ve been called a p*ki by only Arab men. But I don’t care how they see me because I care more about Palestinians suffering, or any innocents suffering in SWANA countries. Because a literal genocide is more important than your feelings at the moment. Those children in Gaza haven’t wronged you. If you are Desi and don’t support Palestine, you’re either violently islamophobic or can’t grasp the idea of colonialism with the lack of brain cells in your head.

Question for the Indians, Irish, and the Ukranians
From what I've read the Irish view the Bengali Famine as a genocide and the Indians view the Irish Potato Famine as genocide so do they both view the Holodomor as a genocide and do the Ukrainians view the Bengali and Irish Potatoe Famines as genocides

Okay, @sihatn wishes to be so hung up on the particular war crime the Israeli government is using to excessively slaughter innocent Palestinian civilians, so let’s explain the difference between Genocide, Ethnocide, and Ethnic Cleansing:
Genocide: the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group
Examples: The Armenian Genocide (where the term actually originates), the Shoah/Holocaust, Taíno Genocide, and Rwandan Genocide to name a few.
I have seen some Zionists on this platform and on Instagram argue that Israel cannot be committing Genocide because it is a “very specific instance in history that only includes the Holocaust”. That fact is ardently incorrect. For one, the first event to be called a Genocide and where the term was coined was the Armenian Genocide and countless events have been labeled a Genocide since 1943/1944 when the term was initially coined (including events coined after the fact that had already happened like the aforementioned Taíno Genocide).
Ethnocide: the deliberate and systematic destruction of the culture of an ethnic group or nation without deliberately killing large numbers of people within that ethnic group or nation
Think “kill the Indian, save the man”, the American and Canadian policy against American Indian tribes and First Nations that sought to forcibly assimilate them into W.A.S.P. culture. A similar policy occurred in Hawaii during the “Republic of Hawaii” and “Territory of Hawaii” days, and even the destruction of Yiddish Culture by Zionists in Israel who feared it for being “too Middle Eastern”. Most Re-Education camps fall in this category too.
Ethic Cleansing: the mass expulsion or killing of members of an unwanted ethnic or religious group in a society
This term is relatively new and was coined in the aftermath of the collapse of Yugoslavia and Serbia’s treatment of Croats, Bosnians, and other ethnic minorities, as well as the Stalinist movement of ethnic minorities to different SSRs.
Mass Homicide: the deliberate killing of a large number of people
The only distinction here is the people are not being killed because of their ethnicity or nation, but for ✨ other reasons ✨
Now here’s the kicker, most Zionists would say they are committing Ethnic Cleansing. They might not say it out right, because the term has a nasty connotation, but they will say they’re doing the definition of ethnic cleansing.
Some propaganda reblogging Zionists might claim that they’re just committing Mass Homicide but here’s the thing, almost every example of mass homicide being committed by one nation to another nation has been an example of one of the first three categories. The only real examples of Mass Homicide actually being Mass Homicide occur within a state (see Mao famines, Pol Pot’s mass killings, or the countless purging of communists or anti communists during the Cold War).
Some (wrong) historians may claim the Bengal Famine and Irish Potato Famine were examples of mass Homicide but here’s the thing, in both cases aid from other nations and governments were barred from entering the effected places because the UK forbid it. Food exports were forced to continue to come from Ireland and Bengal because the UK forced it. The reasons these famines were so severe was because the UK had a eugenics inspired belief that the Irish and Bengalis were “sub human animals” and “less deserving of food than the Brits”.
The Irish Potato Famine and Bengali Famine were Genocides, with famine being the preferred method of killing.
Was it intentional at first? Maybe not. Did it become intentional after the fact? Yes.
But this takes us to the most important point. The difference between Genocide, Ethnocide, and Ethnic Cleansing AND Mass Homicide is the intent.
But the intent isn’t truly known until after the fact, when internal government documents are released and the facts of the situation are holistically known.
The Jews/Poles/Romani/etc knew they were going through a Genocide (or well, they didn’t know the word, but they knew what was happening) but most of the outside world didn’t because the N@zis were secretive about it. Yes some activists and Jewish/Polish/Romani/etc diaspora groups warned other governments, but these other governments (US, UK, USSR, China, France, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, Italy even) were skeptical.
We don’t full know intent now, but given Herzl and Jabotinsky’s rhetoric which essentially established modern day Zionism and the Israeli state, and the establishment of Area C for Israeli settlement after conflict in the West Bank, the fact that Israel has threatened a Second Nakba, an event internationally acknowledged as ethnic cleansing, the fact that there are oil reserves underneath Gaza and the forcing of 2 million people into an airport sized camp would allow Israel to open up drilling where the ruins of Gaza city lay, or the fact that Israel is an Ethnonationalist country that relies on the superiority of Israelis over Palestinians and other neighbouring countries in order to exist makes the intent known to those of us familiar with the history of this conflict.
Ok ok ok ok ok here’s where I M. Night Shyamalan this whole thing: Genocide, Ethnocide, and Ethnic Cleansing are all the same crime according to multinational organizations like the United Nations. They are all Genocide.
All Ethnocides are Genocides, but not all Genocides are Ethnocides.
All Ethnic Cleansings are Genocides, but not all Genocides are Ethnic Cleansings.
The Nakba was an Ethnic Cleansing, therefore the Nakba was a Genocide.
The Netanyahu administration claims that their on going attack on Gaza is a “new Nakba”.
Nakba = Ethnic Cleansing = Genocide
The Netanyahu administration claims that their on going attack on Gaza is a “new Genocide”.
Genocide carries with it negative connotations. If the term was as widely used in 1944 as it is today, Hitler would deny genocide allegations, just as the Turkish continue to deny genocide allegations from the Armenian Genocide, why the Japanese continue to deny Genocide Allegations during their rule of Korea, Taiwan, parts of Micronesia, Manchuria, and Nanjing. Why the British refuse to acknowledge the Irish Potato Famine or Bengal Famine as Genocides. Why the conservative right want to ban the teaching of American genocides against countless groups (namely Native Americans, African Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Chicanos). And why Zionists get so offended when you refer to the actions of Israel as a Genocide.
Those who commit Genocide will never acknowledge that they are committing genocide. The fact that the current mainstream Zionist reaction, like @sihatn, is to deny that the ongoing genocide exists just proves that one is happening… if the horrific videos didn’t prove it enough (this one is from an American pro Israel source, but it doesn’t not take long to find ones from individuals in Gaza)
In conclusion, Israel is committing a genocide, and if you say otherwise, you are blinded by Ethnonationalism just like the Germans were in the 30s/40s, the Turks were during the 10s/20s and onward, the Brits were for (well forever), and the American right wing is.
If you don’t acknowledge the fact that Israel is committing a Genocide you are part of the problem shawty, and it’s not a good look 😬

People have been recommending The Blood Telegram as a way to succinctly understand Kissinger’s realpolitik sociopathy, and I totally agree. Someone on tumblr recommended it to me years ago and it really is a grim, illuminating read. But I knew that Kissinger was evil, so the new information for me, as a millennial with no personal ties to India or Bangladesh, was not just the horrible details of the Bengali Genocide, but how, like, really, every genocide, it progressed as every powerful or wealthy person turns their back on horrible suffering and death. And so it’s bleakly funny that George Harrison is the only wealthy westerner to enter this story and act with anything like decency. So, by reading The Blood Telegram, I gained a deeper understanding of Kissinger’s evil and also a favorite Beatle.

Isn't Al Jazeera a propaganda website? Do they not have a history of tons of “controversies”. And ban from 8-9 different countries?
They downplayed the Bengali Genocide by Pakistan Army back when Bangladesh wanted to be separated from Pakistan, and was rightfully called out for it.
They also defended this Islamist terrorist group that was responsible for World Trade Centre Bombing and called the members “protector of human rights” or something like that?
And ton more times than I can remember.
They are funded by Qatar government, and Hamas have their headquarters in Qatar, i believe, so whyyyyyyy is the go-to source Al Jazeera. Like. Bruh. They are going to be biased to protect their “islamic brotherhood”. There are many instances where they have, and i believe here they also are doing the same.
yeah, they’re straight up propaganda. they’ve marketed themselves to young people as a source on palestine and framed anyone who says otherwise as a zionist (derogatory), and it’s clearly worked wonders. for people who scream about propaganda all the time, they sure do fall for it whenever it aligns with their preconceived ideas.

Alright.
Here’s an idea.
Stop distorting genocide into something it isn’t.
It isn’t some kind of inevitable natural disaster and it’s certainly NOT the fault of the victims! That is never true.
It is a crime!
An unforgivable crime!
To say otherwise and to try and deny it or brush it under the carpet is equally wrong!
Get in the bin with that shite!

It's interesting how Trivs argument seems to really just boil down to "the US's interests in Israel contradict their interests in Saudi so therefore social imperialism wrong" shocking that there's some sort of contradiction here if only there were some ideology that can reconcile actually existing contradictions
dont think u addressed the contradiction here. its a matter of balancing impacts. symmetric comparisons. so for onlookers, its that saudi arabia is fundamentally a state that can fund its military with oil if it really needed to. it lacks expertise atm, so it needs to buy a lot of equipment and training and its country doesn't have a real military culture to drive recruitment. that is always a much slimmer line of dependence than israel that relies on the us (a) for establishing its legitimacy globally for a state that is openly in violation of un rulings on territory and regularly condemned by the general council (b) for its service oriented high tech economy and (c) needs the us to continue a genocidal project of exterminating palestinians that is fundamental to the nature of israel itself: see the nakba and the clear alignment of the zionist project with the west from the beginning. saudi arabia's military interests are a lot more contigent and wahhabism can often be ideologically influenced by anti americanism - if not historically straight up influenced by the animating spirit of arab anti colonialism.
sure, israeli support sours relationships in the middle east to - this is pretty much why many observers think hamas chose to attack now - to sink normalization. but there was a path to normalization in the first place? pre oct 7, saudi arabia was unmoved by the existing nature of us arms support for israel. has egypt opened the rafah border crossing? nobody except the houthis has actually really allied themselves against israel materially. the costs of supporting israel to the us are not really meaningful, as long as arab populism can be crushed, even if palestinian support is all time high in civilian populations almost no big alliances have come from this.
the us always courts multiple parties in the region: both pakistan and india are in separate security alliances with us and as siva mentioned yday both have historically been courted by the us. it depends on who its claws can be sunk deeper into - in the 70s it was pakistan bc murdering bengalis was the animating project of the nation state that needed the money and was a bigger in.

February 21 is named International Mother Language day by UNESCO.
In case you don’t know, Ekushey February is a day of remembrance for Bangladeshis. On February 21, 1952, students of Dhaka University and other members of the community were holding a protest to have Bangla (Bengali) recognized as an official language of the country. At the time Pakistan was ruling over East Bengal (now Bangladesh), and had declared Urdu the official language of both East and West Pakistan and prohibited the learning/teaching/speaking of Bangla.
That day, demonstrators were tear gassed and police opened fire, killing 29 people.
Almost 20 years later, East Bengal would face a bloody genocide that was largely ignored by the United States even after Archer Blood sent Nixon and Kissinger multiple telegrams describing the massacre and atrocities being carried out by Pakistan and its sympathizers. Hindus were largely targeted in this genocide as Pakistan wanted to create an Urdu speaking Islamic country, while Bengalis just wanted to live as Bengalis regardless of religion. Tactics such as humiliation, false imprisonment, and sexual assault were used large and wide.
Bangladesh survived and rose out of the bloody and brutality into a young nation. It’s still a country that has many struggles, issues exacerbated by Operation Searchlight.
After the war was won, funnily enough Israel was the first country to reach out to Bangladesh and say it recognizes Bangladesh as an independent country. However, Bangladesh refused Israel’s recognition and proceeded to outwardly support Palestine’s support for liberation. Bangladesh publicly supported Palestine during the 1973 Yom Kippur War and sent medical teams and supplies to help Palestine.
To me, the liberation of Palestine has been a matter close to my heart simply through birth, before I even knew what liberation meant I knew Palestine required it. The liberation of my people is interconnected to the liberation of Palestine. As a child of genocide survivors, hearing their stories, and seeing genocides take place in front of my eyes is heartbreaking and distressing. But I also continue to have hope, because so many countries have faced the same and at the end of the day they were the ones that came out on top.
One day, just like Bangladesh, Palestine will be free.
Joy Bangla and Free Palestine.
