The Traveler had a domino effect with the people she met since she was always helpful, kind, and just an overall good person, and you were no different. You spent the whole last few days at Liyue with her after doing commission with her days prior. Considering your out of the blue burst of good moods, of course your girlfriend Beidou noticed.

It was late at night when you arrived at the Crux ship. Everyone was practically ready for departure and only needed to wait until the break of dawn until setting sail. You made your way to Beidou's room to catch your much needed rest.

You opened the door smoothly thinking the captain must be outside aiding with the departure of the ship. So it was only reasonable to be shocked when she was instead sitting on her desk with her legs and arms crossed, glaring at you.

"You were gone for quite some time Y/n.." She said.

Maybe it was because of your exhaustion, but you couldn't notice her concerned tone, so you didn't think much of it and responded normally. "Well I was out with the Traveler the entire night, I'm exhausted." You yawned.

You literally the worst sleepever. well you wouldn't call it sleep as to how you literally couldn't fall asleep. You felt the Sun rays hitting your face as an annoying early bird opened th curtains to your room "GOOD MORNING SLEEPY HEAD!" Tighnari yelled in a loud voice. You gave him an annoyed look as you turned to the other side of your pillow covering your entire head from the sun you suddenly felt a coldness hit you as the cover we're pulled off of you too. "TIGHNARI IT'S LIKE 7 IN THE MORNING WHAT." you yelled but not too loud "it's actually 10:00Am y/n learn to read the clock please." he said as he went to your closest and found you some clothes " I was being considerate and letting you sleep in but we have stuff to do today.." you gave him a confused look "it's the weekend Tighnari what st-" he cut you off by throwing the clothes in your face "WEEEE (he cleared his throat) are going to be fixing your little sleeping problem today!" he said giving you a happy look. You gave him an annoyed look as you out your shoes on and you guys finally headed out the door (Timeskip bc I low-key don't know what to write anymore) you we're exhausted you literally had been running around Tighnari with his task all day of course collie joined you guys but that didn't change the fact that you were so tired that you felt as soon as you hit your bed you would be out like a light. And that's exactly what you did as soon as you got home not even thinking about dinner you kicked your shoes off and landed right on the bed, tighnari following right behind you and sat at the edge of the bed. "I told you that I was gonna be able to fix your sleeping problem!" he said with a smile you kicked him off the bed and he started to fake cry as you told him he had to sleep on the couch tonight. (He still ended up sleeping on the couch)

The edges of a bucket seems to be your dearest friend at this point in time, as you lurch above it bile rising in your throat again this morning. Ningguang, behind you, gently dragging any stray hair out of the way. "Surely you can't have that much throw up left in you." Beidou, who is occasionally rubbing your back, remarks.

"Ah Beidou, your bedside manner is impeccable as always." Ningguang tersely replies, as you continue emptying whatever contents that remained in your stomach into the bucket. Beidou scoffs.

"I distinctly recall a certain someone exiling me from bed last time I had a cold because my sneezing was disrupting her beauty sleep." Now it's Ningguang's turn to scoff.

"And I recall upon giving me said cold, you laughed until your lungs nearly burst because you thought the concept of the mighty Tianquan being conquered by a cold highly amusing." This response, makes Beidou laugh again at the memory. By the time she finishes her laughter, you've finished and are moving away from the bucket.

"And I made you both soup, that Beidou nearly spilled all over the sheets." Beidou is grinning, while Ningguang looks exasperated from recalling the memory. Beidou's offering two hands to help you both up from your crouched positions on the floor, that you both accept.

"Now that's an idea." She says pulling you both up. Ningguang's lips curl upwards into a sly smile.

"I trust you aren't referring to spilling soup over our expensive silk sheets?" Beidou’s letting out a boisterous laugh at the other woman’s quip before turning her attention back to you.

"No a hot meal!" She pauses, pointing between you and your stomach. "You need to eat something.” The mention of food makes you feel slightly queasy.

"Just ah maybe nothing too heavy."

"Of course not treasure, but Beidou does have a point eating something would be good for you." Beidou’s guiding you to the kitchen, while Ningguang is signaling for someone to takeaway the bucket and fetch another just in case.

chapter sixteen - the greatest treasure

　↳ beidou x jorogumo!reader

warnings - fem!reader, fluff?, mentions of violence, wc - 1k

among the vast land and seas of tevyat, various species lived harmoniously alongside humans and archons themselves. from the kitsune shrine maidens to half-cats. but most had adapted to live peacefully among others but some still refused to adapt. to continue on as though nothing had changed.

among these groups lay quite the predominant one - the species of jorogumo. a notoriously cruel species to men in particular, often leading those they wanted to pry on into a unfortunate fate. and never wavered in their ways, even as others did they minded their own and continued on in theor chosen path.

this of course made them unpopular, know only for their cruelty and violence. so from birth you had been cast in that light. your kin's years upon years of tales automatically assigned to you and that's what was expected of you. wether or not you enjoyed indulging in your ancestors habits, the area where you lived feared you. so much so that they constantly attempted to drive you out.

but you would leave if you could, no opportunities had arisen however. and your time in your area would soon be cut short as an opportunity had soon presented itself. it arrived in the shape of a large ship at your local port, you saw the opportunity and took it.

stock was running low and the nearest area available was a new one. however if they passed up the opportunity, the crux would not make it to the intended destination. so beidou took the brave choice of docking there. it was quaint yet housed all materials and supplies needed and for reasonable offers - perhaps this could be a nice point to make a recurring spot.

the locals were welcoming and friendly aswell. although what did peek her interest was when one particular vendor advised she stay clear of the area especially given most her crew were men. and when she pried they told her the tales of jorogumo that stalked the local area. she had never heard of such people despite her various travelling and so it was natural she became curious.

although they hadn't meant to stay longer than a couple of days so she doubted that she could have time to learn more. on the day before their departure she had met you. you quickly recognised that she was indeed the captain and your best shot at getting out of here. you had no clue how this kind of thing worked so you hoped that asking would be enough.

beidou always prided herself on being a good judge of character in first impressions, it's how she built such a good team afterall. but she couldn't quite pin your character. she could only make out that you held quite a bit of power and held something akin to genuine kindness. she was pleasantly surprised by your straight forward approach on asking to join the crux. but she couldn't just let anyone on.

she could tell deep down that you would actually be a great new member to the crux but again she couldn't just take your offer. and seeing as they had a day before departure she set up what could only be described as a mini trial. sure it may be unusual for her to do but it worked. everything was going well for you, you passed and the woman you now knew as beidou allowed you to travel on the crux with them. you even started getting along with some members!

until it all got ruined the minute before your departure. you were still very wary of steering clear of any residents that may recognise you and out you before you had the chance to leave. but one resident seemingly ruined it all by seeing you and immediately calling out warnings for everyone around you. this shocked beidou who was currently stood right beside you and had half a mind to have a go at the person who dare disrespect a member of the crux. but preferred to get both sides of the story first.

to avoid getting any misconceptions, she immediately dragged you off to a room on the crux to understand what was happening. you were absolutely dreading this. if you lied and then she found out later than you were sure to be kicked off but even telling her now would risk you ruining your chances of leaving that dreaded area. but you settled with telling the truth.

beidou was slightly confused yet giddy in a way. she was now faced with a problem of your origins but had met the jorogumo she wanted to meet after hearing your tales. but it seemed luck still wavered in your favour as beidou offered you a deal. she would still let you join the crux as she wholeheartedly believed that you would become a great member but for the safety of her current crew, she made you promise to never hurt anyone and made it very clear that if you did she wouldn't hesitate to get rid of you.

you jumped at the opportunity and accepted. and it worked out for both of you. the members of the crux soon began seeing you as a member of their crew despite any initial worries and you proved to be a very useful asset to them. and beidou would often admire your power and hidden kindness from afar. you truly were a treasure to the crux.

Ei, Beidou, Eula, Yoimiya x fem!reader when you're having bad period cramps hurt comfort with fluff sprinkled in

-Ei isn't sure what to do when you snap at her and then say how you're getting bad cramps. She offers to help you out with anything to which you would probably have to tell her what you need.

-She'll bring you anything you want, no matter what it is. She doesn't like seeing you in such pain. She'll lay with you in bed as well, rubbing your back as she holds you.

-Although she's not good at comfort, she'll try her best as long as you tell her what you need from her! She would also get the warmest blanket she could for you as long as it helps you feel better.

-" Snack? And a blanket? What type? I will ask for Dango Milk too. "

-Beidou couldn't be any better at helping you out. Although you're out at sea, she's got almost anything you'd need. She always is ready for such an emergency.

-She honestly just acts like your mood swings aren't there. She realizes it's not your fault and doesn't want to mention it to you. So, instead she'll just keep talking to you like normal.

-Always is there if you call her name. Doesn't matter if you're in the crows nest, she'll have another crew member take over what she was doing so she can go check on you.

-" Hey, (name)! You good? Need me to get anything for ya'? "

-Eula is surprised at first when you she finds you snapping at someone and then coming over to her and your emotions have done a complete 180. She's very concerned, thinking that person had something to do with it.

-When she does find out that it wasn't that person, she feels a bit bad. She'll take you around to Good Hunter and treat you to a meal (she paid for it).

-She also is very protective of you so she'd rush you home and even ask a healer if theres anything else she can do for your pain. She's a bit scared to touch you, in fear of causing you more pain.

-" (name), you may order whatever you'd like. I'll... pay for it, as long as it helps you feel a little better. "

-Yoimiya is great at helping you through it. She doesn't get mad or offended if you snap at her. She offers to use her pyro vision to heat up something for you to use to ease the pain.

-Sometimes, she'll offer you to cuddle with her and she'll rub your stomach with her warm hands (if you would like her to). She's also very gentle too.

-Whenever you get bad mood swings, she never gets mad. She'll just ask if you need anything. A snack, blanket, whatever you want! She'll get it for you if it'll make you feel better.

-" No worries, (name)! You need your favorite snack? "

Haunted House

what's it like in a haunted house with them- Genshin Impact pt. 1

Characters: Hu Tao, Shenhe, Beidou, Ningguang

a/n: this is part of my Halloween event!! you can find it here! I will do my best to update it as i write characters!

Hu Tao

Probably not the best to go to a haunted house with

Hu Tao enjoys going to them! It's the most popular date option during October for the both of you.

Loves dressing up and going to them! She prefers matching costumes too! You've both ghost, zombies, and vampires before!

Scares the scarers back

Has been banned for some haunted houses for being too scary

Her favorite part of the haunted houses is going ahead of you and hiding, waiting for you to approach

And when you get close, she jumps out to give you a scare

"BOO!! Hahaha! You should see the look on your face! You're as pale as a ghost! Hmm? Aw, come on, don't give me that face, you know i was just joking right? Come here for moment."

Gives you as many hugs and kisses as she can because she feels bad about spooking you, only a little bit though!

Shenhe

Doesn't really understand them

She still goes to them, not because she wants to protect or anything, just wants to experience it

Shenhe most definitely doesn't get scared, mostly just confused by some of the decorations or costumes of the scarers

Tries to eat a fake spider

If you get scared and grab onto her, she turns beet red

Doesn't dress up but she might if you beg her too

She'd most likely just wear a witch hat or the devil horn headband

Keeps a hold on you so you don't get lost or wonder off

Somehow, she wonders off herself and now there's people looking for you to come collect your girlfriend

"..." "So how did you- " " I would rather not speak about.."

Overall, Shenhe will protect you and comfort you if you get too scared! Just be a bit careful about showing too much affection, she might over heat!

Beidou

Objectively one of the funniest ones to go to a haunted house with

She'd boast about how you can grab on to her if get scared and the first jumpscare to happen, she'd jump in surprise (totally not scared at all)

Tries to laugh it off and say it was just a fluke

A lot more careful to pay more attention to her surroundings afterwards

I think Beidou would wear a costume to these but like a really funny one. Like a banana costume or something similar

holds on to your waist and holds you close to her so you don't get lost through the haunted house

If she feels you flinch at anything, she tightens her grip just a bit and pulls you into her side a bit

cracks jokes if things are too dense

if it gets too boring, Beidou will start a eye spy game to see how many random decorations you both can find

steals a spider decorations

"So, we might need to run back to ship." "what? why?" " heh, i may have stolen a decoration."

Cue to you both running

atleast you both have a new decoration for the crux

Lifts you up so you can place it up above the captain cabinet door.

Also gives you a very passionate kiss to make up for making you run

Ningguang

absolute queen

takes getting frightened like a champ, and laughs it off with pride and joy

Doesn't dress in a costume but does wear a nice outfit to go with the theme of the evening

Was mostly invite to it as a guest for a fundraiser or something similar

Thoroughly enjoys watching you interact with everything, and smiles gently when you get spooked by something

Ningguang keeps a hand on the small of your back so she can wrap her arm around should the need arise

Might get annoyed if people walking by gawk at the both of you

Might have to schedule a private visit for just the both of you

Enjoys the decorations and the ambience of it all

Afterwards, she definitely takes you out to eat foods that match the season.

"My gem, are you enjoying yourself? I should've tried to schedule a private event for us, i wasn't expecting so many people. "

Afterwards, Ningguang takes you back to the jade chamber for a bit of pampering and quality time together

Like Birds In The Breeze (pt 2)

When Beidou suddenly called for him, It was not for the reason he expected. No- everything seemed calm by the time he emerged from his quarters. There were no pirates ready to attack the Crux or any obstacles in the ship’s way.

“Ah, Kazuha! Captain Beidou is below deck now, if you need her,” a man half smiled as he mopped the deck.

Kazuha’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion before he began to descend the ship’s well.

Beidou was standing over a table, deadly silent with her head laying flat against whatever was laying on top of it. He was unsure whether he should approach her, or whether it would disturb her concentration.

“I didn’t expect to fish up a bride in our nets,” she joked light-heartedly as he came to stand beside her.

Kazuha peered over the soaked body, concern growing immensely with every second. She seemed to be about his age, with (h/l), (h/c) hair that stuck out around her like a crown. It was still wet with seawater, but the tips had started to curl in the way that only sea-bathed hair knew how. Something shiny caught his eye. Had he not been so interested, he would have said it was the ring. There was no ring. Once clasped tightly in the unconscious woman’s hand was a cryo vision.

He gave a hum in curiosity. What could she have been running from? Was she running at all?

Closer inspection wasn’t needed, but he continued anyway. She was indeed clothed in what looked like the remnants of a wedding dress. Kazuha gently felt the fabric between his fingers, and even while sodden, he could tell the dress was well crafted and expensive. He was sure that had the rest of the outfit been there, and she was awake and dry, she would have looked beautiful.

“Where did she come from?” he asked softly, fingers drifting back to his sides to dry them of the residing wetness.

“Crow’s nest spotted her floating on a piece of ice.” She stated, pulling a towel from under the table. “Would you take these to my quarters, Kazuha?”

He looked shocked, “Your quarters? Beidou what if she’s dangerous? What if she’s on the run? She has a vision, so she might have gotten into some trouble.”

Beidou looked pointedly at him, “You were on the run, you had a vision. We didn’t throw you back to the sharks, so why start now?”

With that, she handed the towel to Kazuha. He knew better than to keep pressing the matter. After all, she was right.

Beidou picked up the woman carefully, grimacing at the squelch of the dress in her hands. They passed through the barracks and made their way once more up the stairs to the deck.

(Y/N) woke in an unfamiliarly warm place. Though her head was spinning, she could see that the room was not one she had been in before. There was far too much colour for it to be her own room.

The same could be said for her clothes. Gone was the snowy dress she’d run off in, traded in for a pair of dark trousers and a large off-white shirt.

Someone had changed her. Still, she was more grateful to be alive than anything else. Across from her, she saw her dress, folded on a table, and looking just as though it had never been worn. Gone were the smears of dirt and from the looks of it, the rips and tears were all but gone.

With shaky legs, she stood and was immediately struck with the nauseating feeling of the floor shifting slightly beneath her feet, rocking back and forth like a baby’s bassinet. (Y/N) took a moment to find her footing, hand moving to grip the ledge of the windowsill.

“Finally awake, huh?” a woman’s voice spoke from behind her. The (h/c) haired woman turned on her heel and pressed herself against the wall in fright, though her shoulders relaxed slightly when her eyes focused on the person who spoke.

She was a tall woman with long brunette hair. An eyepatch covered her right eye, and it was the same shade of red as her slitted dress. She did not look like the normal captors she so often had. Her arms were crossed, and she leaned carelessly against the doorframe, with a lazy smile that shifted to a grimace of concern.

“Hey, you ok?” she asked but didn’t dare step closer, to not frighten the girl.

“Where am I?” she asked, back still pressed firmly against the wooden wall.

“You’re onboard the Crux. We’re set to dock at Liyue Harbour by tomorrow. Did you need to be anywhere?” the woman asked, a friendly smile returning once more. “The name’s Beidou. I'm the captain of this ship. You got a name, darlin’?”

(Y/N) felt a small part of her apprehensiveness leave her at the woman’s openness. She stepped away slightly from the wall, but her heels still touched it.

“My name is…” she was debating whether to lie to Beidou. The woman seemed at least somewhat trustworthy, but could she really risk getting taken back?

Eventually, she decided to take a chance. “I’m (Y/N)”

Beidou smiled and nodded, “I appreciate the honesty. So you must be hungry after such a long sleep huh?”

(Y/N)’s eyebrows creased in confusion. Was she asleep for that long? Surely It couldn’t have been longer than a few hours. She remembered shutting her eyes for what felt like a nap’s duration.

“Miss Beidou… How long exactly was I out for?” Beidou laughed good-naturedly, finally stepping closer when she saw her defences lowering.

“About two days with us. Maybe three altogether since we found you already unconscious.” She waved her hand in a come hither motion, “Come on, let's go get some food in you before you realise how hungry you are and try to eat me.”

And for the first time in years, (Y/N) laughed. Laughed at something she found funny. It had finally hit her, as she walked through the door and into the sunlight, that she never had to pretend to laugh, be happy, or be anything for anyone else.

She liked that idea.

content: you catch beidou after a party on the Crux, but she says some unexpected things to you

The Crux crew was celebrating another successful mission on the ocean, this meant music, dancing, games, and most importantly, alcohol. Most if not everyone was jamming to music while completely drunk. Surprisingly, you didn’t join on the wasted-level drinking. It never seemed like a good idea to leave every workable person on the ship wasted. So you took a few shots but never past your ability.

From the upper deck you watched everyone and from the corner of your eye you spotted her. She was drinking away like usual. Seeing her like a fool with everyone made you smile brightly. Suddenly she turned her head turning right at you until you made eye contact. Immediately you turned away and got back on lookout.

When night came and everyone was either passed out or puking, you decided it was finally time you got your break after the whole night of staring at empty waters. You were making your way to the hammock room when you heard banging noises near the captain’s quarters.

You knocked on the door. “Captain Beidou? Are you okay in there?” You asked as you opened the door.

Your eyes widened when you were met with Beidou on the floor completely flat on the ground. You ended up bursting out in laughter right at the door.

“W- what are you laughing at...” She dragged out sounding dizzy. She turned to you and smiled. “Oh, it’s just you Y/n.”

You raised your eyebrow as you began walking towards her. “Why do you sound so upset? Here.” You took out a damp handkerchief, kneeled next to her and held it to her forehead. “Are you okay now Captain?”

She nodded and unexpectedly grabbed your wrist. “Keep it here for a while...”

By now you two were centimeters away from one another, you could smell the alcohol like you drank it yourself.

Her eyes shifted up and she said, “You know, Y/n, you’re really pretty.” Out of the blue.

You choked on nothing and scooted away. “Wh- Beidou you can’t say that sort of stuff.”

“Why not..? It was so hard to see your face when you were so far away..” She whined.

“...Quit it.” Though you were completely flustered right now, you decided to lift her up and onto her bed. “Just rest for the night alright?”

She frowned. “Ehh.. you know, if you stayed I’d be way happier..” She said as she leaned her head on the mattress, causing her hair to fling all over.

You weren’t expecting much of a reaction when you tucked her hair behind her ears, but surprisingly, it made her face flush a light shade of pink. You smiled at your succession.

But you didn’t let it get to your head. “Seriously Beidou, don’t say anything else, you’re clearly drunk.”

It was then she suddenly sat herself up like nothing and got up close to your face while cupping both sides of your cheeks. She was so fast that you couldn’t protest, not that you were going to anyway.

“Y/n... I may be drunk, but these are my complete sober thoughts...”

At this point you didn’t know if you would be able to control yourself with her acting like this. Yet you had to keep yourself composed, for now.

You pulled her away. Because as much as you wanted to, you didn’t want to do anything with her like this. “If you want something from me, then you can wait till tomorrow night when you’re not out of your mind.” You told her.

“I’ll hold you to it..”

And as you thought, she was too dizzy to rebel more against you. After a few more minutes, she ended up passing out on her bed. You ended up leaving with a heated face, and something to look forward to the following day.
