— mission: chaos fc
↪ muchly requested second part to the previous chapter. I had so much fun writing the first bit, so why not give you guys a second part?
ps. there'll be more parts to this... its' not over yet!
Lets' go with chaos fc!
Thank you thank you thank you to @alotofpockets for helping me with the different ideas and code names, so much to write the mayhem!
Tumblr media
pairings: kim little x reader, kyra cooney cross x reader
summary: just 2 best friends being pests together, and enlisting the help of the young guns to help them out
Tumblr media
"Yoo-hoo," You call out as you open the door to Kyra's hotel room and walk in, plonking yourself down on her bed as you end up hearing the tail-end conversation of her phone call with Viv.
Ultimately, you know you should try and stay out of trouble. After all, that's what you promised Leah, and you really should keep your promise.
However, you're a known troublemaker and well, wherever you go, trouble tends to follow.
It's only a matter of time...
"Yikes, Vivi sounds mad with you," You can't help but joke and whistle lowly, moving back to relax on the Australians' girls bed with your arms propped up on the pillows. "How bad was it?" You question, curiously.
"She lectured me for what felt like forever," Kyra huffs in protest and slumps back down onto her bed, "It's bad enough I already had an earful from Steph and Caitlin!" She whines.
You wince a bit as you feel bad for her having to deal with that, "Well, if it makes you feel any better I had to deal with a right telling off from Leah and you know she can be scary as hell sometimes," You mumble, shuddering slightly, "And shes' even threatened to ban me eating sweets for a month if she finds out I've got in any more trouble. Oh and there was talk about a leash as well,"
"Right, so no more pranks then?" Kyra slumps her shoulders down in realisation.
"Well, Kimmys' definitely gonna be keeping a closer on us now," You remark, knowing that your Captain will have a watchful eye on you both.
The older Australian nods in agreement, "Yeah, and Steph and Catilin as well probably," She notes.
"Yeah-- I know!" An idea pops into your head as you bolt up from where you're lounging about on her bed, "We'll come up with code names! That way, we can lay low and cause trouble and none of the girls will have a clue that we're talkin' about them!" You personally think the idea's great and you know full well it'll help in your cause to be choatic still.
"That's geinus!" Kyra exclaims, impressed with your ability to think quickly about it.
"Well, you know, I can be pretty smart at times," You remark, jokely pretending to flick your hair back. "Right, we'll be known as... Eagle 1 and Eagle 2," You declare.
"Eagle?" Kyra furrows her eyebrow, confused by where you'd gotten that idea from.
"Uh huh," You nod in agreement with the older girl. "Kimmy will be Tiny, because well, its' kinda self explanatory," You tell her.
Kyra snickers at you making fun of your Captains' height, "Okay. What about Steph and Caitlin?" She questions.
"Caitlin will be known as Veggie, because of Vegemite and Steph will be known as Floof," You begin to reel of the different names, "Alessia will be known as uh, butterfingers!"
"Because of how clumsy she always is?" Kyra smirks at your imaginative nickname for the blonde striker and you nod in agreement, "Alright, what about Katie?" She wonders.
"Leprechaun, because there little shits like she is-- I mean, we're like that too, but shes' Irish as well so it fits better!" You explain your thought process, shrugging your shoulders, "Emily will be known as Fox, like the animal," You state.
"Simple but effective," Kyra remarks, keeping track of the different code names you're coming up with, "Cloe and Frida?"
You tap your finger against your cheek, "Hm, Laces and Magnum, Cloe's last name is hard to pronounce and Magnums' close to Manuum," You delclare, finding the situation amusing to no end, "Oooh. Teyah will be prodigcy, because you know, that's what Katie keeps referring to her as, and Katherine will be umm, Kool-Aid, like the drink!"
"Kool-Aid?" Kyra smirks in amusement as you just confirm your idea with a stuble nod of your head, "Oh, what about Vic?"
"Pancake," You answer without a single thought, "Cos' shes' Dutch and there's a thing called Dutch pancakes-- Oooh, I really want one of them right now!" You stare into space, thinking about them and all you want is one right now.
"Y/N focus," Kyra snaps her fingers in front of your face, trying to get your attention.
You jolt and shake your head suddenly, "Huh-- What... What're we talkin' about again?" You wonder, getting lost in your thoughts about desert already.
"Code names," Kyra reminds you as she laughs, "We still need to figure out the ones' for the rest of them. "What about Sarah and Jonas?" She adds.
"Sarah will be baguette, because shes' french... and Jonas will be Thanos," You're very adamant about the latter, "Because hes' a villian," You hadn't taken the news of Vivs' depature from the club exactly too well and you low-key would like to fight him at some point.
"Still mad about it, huh?" Kyra winces, remembering your reaction to Viv leaving the club wasn't that great.
"Don't want to talk about it. It still hurts," Alongside Katie being the head of the Vivianne Miedema fan club, you were a close second. You were devestated when she played the game in a Arsenal shirt for the last time.
Tumblr media
"Pst, Kyra," You whisper and lean over your seat to not to gently nudge the girl to get her attention without being caught out by Kim or the rest of the 'responsible' older girls.
You're currently on the coach on the way to Marvel stadium ahead of the open training session where the fans would have the opportunity to watch you train ahead of the game against the all stars team.
Ever since the phone conversation with Leah, you had definitely been under closer watch and the threats that the blonde made were still fresh in your head as a reminder, and you'll be damned if you miss out on eating sweet treats, best behaviour or not.
But nobody ever said it was fun to always be good and you definitely weren't.
"Yeah?" The older girl turns her head to look at you.
"I have an idea of who can be the next victim of our prank," You give her a coy smile as you nudge your head slightly, "I say we mess with Laces," You gesture to the older girl whos' happily minding her own business.
Kyra smirks at your decision, "What've you got in mind?" She wonders.
You can't help but grin as you lean over the seat and cover your hand over your mouth to whisper to her, "We can sneak into the locker rom ahead of the rest of them. We'll hide the shin pads," You whisper quietly into her ear.
"Perfect," Kyra grins in agreement with your idea to cause chaos once again.
"What're you pair whispering about?" Kim eyes' the two of you suspiciously, hesistant to have even allowed you to both sit near each other.
"Nothing!" Your both quick to respond, acting completley innocent in the situation at hand.
"Mhm, make sure it stays that way!" Kim is less reluctant to simply let that answer slide so she keeps a more thorough check on you.
When the coach pulls up at the stadium, your quick to try and make a break for it, but your Captain doesn't seem to think the same idea, "Not so fast. I want you where I can keep an eye on you," She states, knowingly.
"Kimmmm, seriously?" You whine in protest, but the tight grip that she has on your upper bicep makes it difficult for you to break free like youn want to do.
"Come on," Kim pulls you in the direction of the press conference that shes' got with Jonas and Steph, forcing you to sit on the side where she can keep an eye on you still, "Stay there, don't move," She warns, patting your head ever so pratronisingly before she heads off to join them on the stage.
You can't say you were too fond of being forced to sit there and listen to the journalists ask questions, especially when Steph was poking fun at you directly for your bad habits of wandering off and getting into trouble.
"This is boring," You mutter to yourself and slump down in the chair, while you kick your legs back and forth in annoyance at the situation you've found yourself in.
How long would it take for Kim to realise you'd got up and left?
Only one way to find out, you guess.
"Y/N!" Your names' barked loudly, causing you to freeze in your spot before you slowly spin around and try flash her an innocent smile, "Sit down!"
"Aw shucks," You mutter and flop back down in the seat, trying to ignore the stern look that Kims' giving you while laughter breaks out in the room from everyone else.
"Only our Y/N," Steph chimes in, amusedly.
You realise you're stuck now and you need to resort to desperate measures to ensure that the chaos still happens.
"Young Guns, your time has come!" You think to yourself as you pull your phone out of your pocket to enlist the help of the girls in the academy.

f1gossip In the new interview for Vanity Fair, Y/N Y/LN, star of the hulu series "The Great" and disney movie "Maleficent", was asked what she enjoys doing her free time: "I'm always trying to keep up with the books that I am currently reading at the moment and I prioritize a lot my self-care moments. Depending on the weekends, I am always watching Formula 1. It's my favorite sport for years now, and I never get tired of it."
It's good to remember that Oscar already mentioned how he enjoys Y/N's work, and Logan exposed last year that the actress is Oscar's celebrity crush. 👀

ONCE CHAEWON HAD LEFT THE ROOM, YOU HEARD A KNOCK AT YOUR DOOR WITHIN MINUTES.
Your heart all but jumped in your chest. It had to be him, and even though you were the one who asked him to come over, you were still nervous to see Jay.
You figured that after your little interaction with him on the airplane, something would eventually happen. After all, you two were in Europe and spent all this time together. There was clear tension between you two, and you had been patiently waiting for it to break all weekend.
It was never this hard; you were fairly confident when it came down to getting a guy's attention. All you had to do was get a little closer and smile a little bigger around them.
But Jay? You felt like you were losing your mind. Not only did he avoid eye contact with you all day, but you found it next to impossible to even talk to him properly. First, it was because he kept running away before you could strike up a conversation, then it was because he made you so flustered that your mouth went dry whenever you wanted to talk.
You thought being featured on his Instagram story was a feat to be celebrated, but that fizzled out as soon as Jay went back to talking to everyone but you.
When you opened the door, he looked as confused as you were with his eyebrows narrowed and his expression stony.
"Hey, what's up?" he greeted, his eyes doing a quick sweep of the room. He was always so observant around you, and why would he be if he didn't reciprocate your feelings? "Are you okay?"
You opened the door wider to let him in before closing it. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just wanted to see you."
"We could've just gone out for drinks together."
"No, alone," you insisted, sitting down at the edge of your bed and looking up at him. "I wanted us to be alone."
You noticed him swallow thickly before he asked, "Why?"
"I just..." You hesitated before continuing, "I just wanted to make sure that what happened on the plane was real."
He looked more puzzled, if that was even possible. For a second, his reaction made you wonder if you had dreamed about the entire encounter. It was plausible, considering the whole thing felt like a fantasy that ended far too soon.
Jay took a seat next to you and placed his hands on his thighs, staring ahead at the wall as he tried to piece together what you were getting at.
"You mean... Shrek."
So you weren't hallucinating. Never did you think you would feel so much relief over hearing the name Shrek.
"What happened during Shrek, I mean."
"Oh, like—"
"When you had your hands on me," you said gently, taking his hand and placing it right where he had it earlier. The familiar warmth put you at ease while causing a flush of heat to rush to your cheeks simultaneously. Jay didn't move his hand, but he looked down at it and stilled. "Like this."
"What're you—"
"Is this okay?"
It took him a few moments to process that you were fully on top of him, but, eventually, Jay nodded slowly. "Yeah, you're good."
Neither of you said anything for a while, and the seconds felt so unbearably long that you spoke up first, asking, "I'm not going crazy, right? I just thought maybe we feel the same way."
He did that nervous habit of his again where he swallowed hard instead of answering, so you pressed on, "You told me to sit on your lap." You maintained eye contact with Jay as you moved to straddle him, sitting closer to his knees without much care for how your skirt rode up. Keeping your voice as steady as possible, you took his hands and placed them on your thighs again, murmuring, "And then you did this."
He breathed out, "Yeah, I just—"
"But you ignored me all day," you cut across him, and although you felt bad for interjecting so much, the flush of pink across Jay's cheeks was too endearing for you to stop. "I felt like I was invisible to you."
You knew he wanted you, too; it was the longing in his eyes, the way his grip tightened around your thighs, and the way he hung onto every word of yours as if it was the last sound he was hearing. It was unmistakeable, but why did he keep pulling away whenever you toed closer?
"You're not," he said sincerely, gazing into your eyes with an unrivaled intensity. "You're not, I swear. I wasn't... trying to ignore you or anything." For a moment, he stopped talking and just looked down at where you were sitting on top of him. "Actually, I felt like I couldn't stay away from you until I let Heeseung drag me away."
"Really?"
A little hopeful tug of your heart made each concern of yours peel away one-by-one.
"It'd be"—he shook his head in a decidedly frantic manner, all the while keeping his gaze locked with yours—"absolutely impossible to ignore you."
Everything you felt for him, everything you felt in this moment, it all festered and billowed around you until you couldn't keep it under the surface anymore. Your confession had been hanging on your lips for days, and it was somehow easier than breathing to let it slip.
You bit back a small smile. "I like you, Jay."
You couldn't understand why his face crumbled as soon as you said those four words, why the longing in his eyes felt like an endless pit you could drown in. Was it possible that you were misreading the situation? How could that be the case when it looked like his feelings for you were overwhelming him?
His steady breaths grew shallow. "We can't do this, Y/N."
"Why not?"
"You're... you're so... I can't." The desperation that clung to his syllables made his frustration clear.
You frowned. "I'm what?"
"You're perfect. I can't"—he shook his head again—"I just can't give you what you want, or I'll end up giving you all of me, and that can't happen." He leaned forward a little to let his head hang, and you were certain it was to avoid looking you in the eye. "I want you to be happy. I want you to find someone who treats you right."
"You're saying you won't?"
"I can't," he whispered, agonized. He stammered a few times before starting, "Hoon—he'd definitely be upset about this."
By the way he hardly elaborated, you figured there was more reasoning that he simply didn't want to share yet, but you could still understand why Jay was cautious because of Sunghoon. Not only had you two broken up around three months ago, but now Jay was close with your ex-boyfriend. Part of you felt a little worried about how starting something with Jay would affect the group dynamic, too, but you knew that pretending like nothing was going on would make you feel worse.
You slid up further onto his lap, hooking your arms around his shoulders. Jay drew in a sharp breath by your sudden action, but he squeezed your thighs all the same. The flutters in your stomach from before had now become arousal pooling between your legs. You pressed your lips together and looked up at him again; hunger dawned in his eyes, and you could almost feel the way he was ravaging you with a single look.
"We could keep it a secret," you offered shyly.
"I'm sorry, it's impossible," he replied, sighing. His voice was hardly loud enough for you to hear. "I'm so sorry."
You couldn't help your emotions from pouring out when you squeaked out, "Am I really that bad?"
"No—no, never." He nearly shouted the words, his eyes burning with wicked desire. "I just promised myself I wouldn't do anything to you."
"But why?"
"You deserve better, Y/N. I won't let myself ruin you."
You hated hearing that phrase. Despite the pleasant goosebumps that prickled your skin at the thought of him ruining you, you couldn't understand why Jay thought so lowly of himself. He wasn't supposed to decide whether he was better for you or not, and you wished he could see himself the way you saw him—someone who gathered and fixed all of the stars in your sky.
"But I want you to ruin—oh." Your breath hitched upon the jolt of pleasure that left heat blooming under your skin. Whether intentional or unintentional, Jay had gripped your thighs so hard that he ended up pulling you up higher onto his legs, and the friction against your cunt left you needing more. "Jay, you—"
"Don't say that," he warned sternly, and when you looked up at him again, he looked as though he was fighting an addiction that he hadn't quite slipped into yet. And then his expression was pained, and how mad he was for you was as clear as day. "I've forced myself to stay away from you every single day, and my emotions always betray me. Just let me have this, at least. Let me stop feeling like I'm out of my mind."
And then his eyes softened, and he brushed away a loose strand of your hair. "If my circumstances were different, I'd have agreed in a heartbeat."
His words should have made your heart swell (and they did, to an extent), but you felt a strange sadness lingering in your chest. It didn't seem like he was going to elaborate on his reasoning, but you felt indubitably unfulfilled. You didn't understand, and he wouldn't let you understand.
Perhaps it was the fact that you had never been turned down like this, or you couldn't fathom getting this far and still being pushed away, or a rather unfortunate combination of both, but you couldn't stop yourself from tearing up. Even though he had been so, so kind, his words were like a dagger in your gut.
"It's okay," you warbled out, and before you could furiously wipe at the stray tear streaming down your cheek, Jay got to it first with a gentle, steady thumb. "I kind of expected it."
This time, he frowned. "You did? Why?"
"This is the first time I've liked someone like this... tried for them, you know. It's just hard for me to believe that you'd ever want me the way I want you."
Your words seemed to ignite something in Jay for the gentle flicker in his eyes was replaced with a blazing fire that only burned hotter when his eyes narrowed to slits. Your breath was caught in your throat when you felt the pads of his fingers press into your skin with a bruising grip.
The way he looked at you made you feel like you had burst into flames, too.
You weren't sure how long Jay had harbored such feelings for you, but they all came out at once in a fury. It was as if he pushed it deep inside, allowed it to simmer for months before it grew too wild to be contained. It was only a matter of time before everything came up to the surface, and now, it was on display.
"You think I don't want you?" He nearly barked out a laugh, disbelief thick in his voice. He let his head drop onto your shoulder, breathing out a few more baffled laughs before you felt his hot breath fan your skin. "You have no idea what you do to me. God, Y/N, you consume my every thought—day and night." When he raised his head again, there was a piercing intensity in his dark eyes. "I punched Hoon for you. I punched him 'cause he hurt you." He closed his eyes and sucked in a sharp breath that seemed to shake his entire body. "I'm not a violent person by any means. I just couldn't stand hearing how he treated you."
Your lower lip was caught between your teeth. You could hardly believe you were hearing his unfiltered emotions like this, but you didn't want him to stop. You were only afraid that he would snap out of it soon and push you away again, so the least you could do was tell him a secret of your own.
"I have something to admit, too," you started. "Back in Seattle, I might have lied about the hotel availability because I was having so much fun." You paused to gauge his reaction, and you were pleasantly surprised that there was no trace of anger in his face; his eyes simply widened a fraction. "I was also freaking out about us sleeping in the same bed, but... it's not like I disliked it."
Jay went silent again, and you peered up at him curiously, waiting for a reaction. Eventually, he sighed heavily and pulled you an inch closer to his body, letting you chase that addictive friction for a split second.
"Please, Jay," you couldn't help but whimper, which, in turn, caused him to clench his jaw. "Don't make me feel good if you're not gonna keep going."
He shifted, cursing under his breath. "I can't, Y/N, I can't..." He then removed his hands to rub his face, aggravated. "I can't do this to you."
But then you saw his bulge strain against his pants, right in front of the apex of your legs—so close that you could simply move forward so that your cunt was flush against it. Jay didn't mention his boner at all, but he followed your gaze and ended up blushing scarlet under the dim light.
"Just ignore that," he muttered quickly. "I can take care of it myself."
"Are you sure?" You pouted. With Sunghoon, you always got him off first before he touched you; there were only few exceptions to this, but it was basically a ritual for you to pleasure him before he took care of you. "You're gonna go back to your room like that?"
Jay pressed his lips together in a thin line. "I'll figure it out, but are you gonna be, uh, okay?"
"I can manage just fine; I've handled it myself plenty of times."
It caught you by surprise, but those were apparently the words that drove Jay to the brink of madness; you stretched him thinner and thinner until he had finally snapped right then and there.
His voice was pitched dangerously low when he asked, "Are you serious?"
"Yeah? I thought that was normal."
"No fucking way." Jay scoffed. He shook his head in dismay. "Sunghoon's an idiot."
Careful not to push his buttons, you mumbled, "But... aren't you doing the same thing, too?"
He gave you a long, hard look. The weight of his gaze almost made you want to wither away on the spot. You trapped him with that one, and he seemed to be very aware of this fact when you heard him let out a half-frustrated, half-tired groan.
You quickly added, "Sorry, I didn't mean—"
"One condition," he interrupted. "I'll help you, but you're not allowed to touch me." He had a firm grip on your thighs again. "I'm not moving my hands, either."
Your heart stopped.
"Please."
That ache between your legs grew more desperate, and you felt like electric currents were running under your skin just by the way he held you. Truthfully, you did feel yourself deflate a little when he set down the rule that you weren't allowed to touch him, but then Jay sat against the headboard and pulled you back onto his lap with his eyes fixed on yours, and you couldn't remember anything anymore.
He was truly committed to only pleasuring you; even though his cock looked painfully hard through the fabric, Jay was adamant about keeping you on his thigh. His leg muscles were strong, you gathered, as he guided your hips down to grind against his thigh in torturous circles.
Immediately, you were dizzy with pleasure. Each motion ended with a little pressure against your clit that sent shocks of bliss throughout your body. He flexed his muscle enough for you to whine from the stimulation.
"F-fuck, just like that."
"Wow," Jay got out in a rush, his voice raspy and fervent, relishing the way you were bouncing on his thigh with occasional whimpers and moans falling from your lips. "You're perfect, Y/N. Everything I've ever dreamt of and more."
And when he called out your name, it felt like he was worshipping you, like your name was a prayer that he needed to chant to preserve some semblance of sanity. Jay was using all his might to suppress the all-consuming desire that threatened to take over every rational decision he had made so far.
Not that this was a rational decision in the slightest.
Not being able to hold onto him was the worst punishment you could've gotten. You were drawn to him, as if you were magnetized, but he put up a very clear boundary that you wouldn't dare push. You had already gotten this far, and you weren't going to push your luck any further—not when you were already seeing white flashes in your vision as he continued his rhythmic motion of helping you ride his thigh.
Maybe it was because you hadn't been taken care of in months, or maybe it was because Jay had tapped into some hidden talent at getting you off, but your climax crept up upon you unexpectedly. One minute your eyes were locked with Jay's as you ground your hips into his thigh, and the next you were arching your back and gripping the sheets underneath for leverage as your orgasm rushed over you.
You threw your head back as you succumbed to the current of pleasure that ripped through you. When you opened your eyes again, Jay was staring at you like he wanted to kiss you, and you were so sure he would for a moment. You leaned up, lips barely grazing his before he pulled back with a groan and dug his fingers firmly into your thighs.
Jay didn't stop even as you gasped and moaned his name throughout your orgasm. (It did seem to rile him up a little more, though.) He only tightened his grip so that he could continue the same, ancient rhythm that ended up driving you to the edge of your second orgasm.
"Oh my god," you gushed out, finally losing your balance and using your shaky arms to keep you upright.
Jay finally slowed down until he was sure you had fruitfully ridden out your orgasm. You were a fucked-out, panting mess by the end of it, and you craved nothing more than for Jay to pull you into his arms and show you just how much he could make love to you.
If he could make you feel that good by only holding your thighs, then you would surely be ruined if you two went further.
But, to your dismay, he gently moved you off of him and sat at the edge of the bed, letting out a soft sigh and staring down at the carpet.
"Are you leaving?" you asked once you regained your composure, slightly hopeful that he wouldn't.
"I should." He stood up and looked down at you tenderly, almost reaching down to fix your hair but stopping himself when he was inches away. "I really would spend the night if I could, I swear."
"I believe you," you said, "but we're gonna talk about this soon, right? I don't think I can just pretend this didn't happen."
Jay pondered for a moment before saying, "Yeah—just not right now."
"Okay," you breathed out, relieved. Blood rushed to your cheeks again. "Thank you."
He only blushed in response, ducking his head to hide how flustered he was.
"Are you going back to your room now?" you asked.
Jay nodded, but the two of you stayed where you were for a moment, and you were hoping he'd give you something—a hug or a kiss—before he left. He went with the former, which you had no complaints about, and squeezed you into a tight hug that you only had a few seconds to reciprocate before he pulled away.
His eyes lingered on your lips for a moment too long. His searing look left you with a curl of desire seizing you so viciously that you were certain you would feel empty for the rest of the night.
"Sleep well, Y/N."
You managed a smile for him, even though you oh-so-badly wanted him to stay. "Goodnight, Jay."

“secret keeping”

part 2 to “caught”
summary: you and trevor got off easy after jack caught you together. it wasn’t hard to keep things on the down low for your other two brothers, but when summer rolls around and you’re all in the same house, it becomes more challenging.
THIS TOOK ME FOREVER OMG.
warnings: kissing, suggestive themes, teeny bit of angst, fluff, big brother quinn
It had been nine months since you and Trevor got together. For three of those months, Jack has known about your relationship.
You elected him as secret keeper, mainly because he was the only candidate, and if you gave it a fancy name, he would be more inclined to shut his mouth.
It worked pretty well. With hockey to keep Jack occupied, he didn’t have much of an issue with keeping the secret to himself.
When the season was over, however, it got a little tougher for him to keep quiet. He was constantly calling you up to ask if he could tell Luke, which you always denied. You were glad Quinn was in Vancouver for the time being, and not in close vicinity to Jack, because you knew that if he was, Jack would cave almost immediately.
So, this was a problem, as you would all be in very close proximity to each other for the summer.
You got to the house later than everyone else, so late, in fact, that it was dark out and the boys had a fire going out back.
You set your things down in your room before throwing on a hoodie and heading outside. They sat around the fire, talking amongst themselves. “Hey, boys,” you said, announcing your presence.
Trevor, who hadn’t seen you in a few weeks, grinned widely at your appearance and stood from his chair. He ignored the sounds of his friends greeting you as he made his was towards you.
He wrapped his arms tightly around you, closing his eyes as he inhaled the scent of you. You embraced him, semi-awkwardly as you watched Jack’s jaw basically drop from over Trevor’s shoulder.
You were the one to pull away, giving him a friendly punch on the arm. You gave him a warning look that said, ‘Remember where we are.’
Jack stood up next, hugging you and whispering in your ear, “That was one steamy hug.” He giggled as he pulled away, allowing Luke and Quinn to hug you next.
You greeted the other guys more casually with just a wave and sat down in the chair across from Trevor between Luke and Quinn.
“So, Y/n, any new installments in your life?” Jack asked, hiding his mischievous smile by taking a sip of his beer.
“What?” you said.
“Anything interesting going on?”
“Uh, work. And school,” you said, subtly glaring at him.
“No new men?” he asked innocently.
“Why are you so interested, freak?” you deflected.
Jack shrugged, a stupid grin on his face. “Just wondering.”
Quinn gave you and Jack an odd look before moving the conversation along. You were thankful to move on, and Trevor, who was making a show of counting stars, was surely thankful too.
Later that night, Trevor snuck out of his room and made his way down the hall to yours. When you let him in, his lips were on yours as soon as the door was closed.
His mouth moved against yours hungrily, his arms making their way around your waist as he guided you backward onto the bed.
The mattress hit your legs and made you sit. Trevor was bending down to kiss you, his hands moving to hold your face.
You held onto his forearms, forcing yourself to pull away and catch your breath. He leaned his forehead against yours as he caught his.
“I missed you, so much,” Trevor said. His hands still rested on your face, which was burning at this point.
“I know, I missed you too.” You guided his hands away from your face, holding them in your lap. He rose to his full height, looking down at you with a soft smile. “But, Trev, you gotta tone it down in front of the guys.”
Trevor rolled his eyes. “It was just a hug, babe.”
“Uh, to quote Jack it was ‘one steamy hug,’” you said.
“‘M sorry. I wasn’t thinking.” Trevor moved one hand out of yours and pushed some of your hair away from your face. “I just missed you. I forgot everyone else was there for a second.”
“It’s okay. I know you don’t like keeping this between us,” you said, feeling a little guilty.
Trevor shook his head. “No, baby. Whenever you’re ready, we’ll tell everyone else. I know you like things private.”
“My brothers are so fucking nosy. I have to.” You looked down at the floor, fidgeting with his fingers.
He laughed. “They are so fucking nosy. Of course, I want to let everyone know you’re mine. I want to be able to look in the stands and see you wearing my jersey. I want to be able to have my arm around you when we’re with your family. I want to be able to post you and to be seen with you. I want all of that, but I get that you’re not ready for it yet. In the meantime, I’m fine with this.”
He leaned down again to kiss you again, bringing his hand back up to your face as you held his other one. You leaned into his touch, pulling back after a moment.
You looked up into his blue eyes. He looked sleepy, the hood of his sweatshirt was up and, from under it, his hair was strewn across his forehead.
“Just give me a few more weeks to think about it, then we can talk, yeah?”
He grinned. “Sounds good, baby.”
He then practically tackled you onto the bed, pulling you on top of him. You tried to contain your giggles, not wanting anyone to wake up.
You rested your head on his chest, your arms wrapped around each other. He grabbed your blanket and placed it on top of you. You fell asleep like that.
The next morning, you woke up beside Trevor, his arm resting over your stomach as he laid on his and drooled into the pillow. You watched him sleep for a minute, his back rising and falling with each breath he took.
You turned over and picked up your phone, seeing that it was nine in the morning. Usually the boys slept in, but this was the first day at the lake, and they would want to get a head start on the day.
You heard voices from down the hall and begrudgingly got out of bed, gently lifting Trevor’s arm off of you.
You left him alone in the room, letting him get some more sleep. Walking into the kitchen, you greeted Jack, who sat at the island, sipping his coffee.
Cole was at the counter, pouring himself a cup. He saw you walk in and he grabbed you a mug and poured some for you too.
“Thanks, king.” You leaned against the counter as you drank it. Cole nodded before going to sit beside Jack.
Trevor walked in a few minutes later, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. He passed by you to the coffee maker, his hand grazing against your stomach. You knew he did it on purpose, based on the way he smirked at you over his mug.
“Hey, man, I woke up this morning and you weren’t in the room. Where’d you go?” Cole asked.
Jack choked on his coffee and coughed violently, pounding his fist on his chest until he recovered.
Cole gave him a look before glancing back at Trevor. You and Trevor made eye contact, and he seemed to connect the dots.
“You!” He pointed at Trevor. “You sister fucker!”
“Jesus, Cole, what’s wrong with you?” you said, your face heating up. You were praying nobody else heard that.
“He’s a traitor,” Cole said, looking at Jack. “This is treason. She’s off limits.”
“Do you idiots actually talk about this?” You said, rolling your eyes.
“Uh, yeah, the first time I met you, I was actually threatened by Jack,” Coke explained. “Which brings me to my next point, did you know about this? How are you okay with this?”
Jack shrugged. “I would’ve liked if he asked for my blessing first, but there’s not a whole lot I can do about it now.”
“For the record,” Trevor cut in. “She came onto me first.”
You smacked him on the arm. “Shut up. We’re not talking about this anymore. Cole, keep your lips zipped. Nobody else can know.”
Cole protested weakly as you left the room. “But there’s so much that I don’t know! You can’t just leave it like that.”
You did leave it like that. You walked back into your room, changing into a different outfit and getting ready for the day, trying to forget about the whole thing.
As you were brushing your teeth, your phone started ringing. You spit out your toothpaste, accepted the call, and put it on speaker, not bothering to look at the caller ID. “Hello?”
“Y/n!” A high voice came from the other side of the phone.
“Oh, hi, mom.” You walked out of the bathroom into the room, seeing Trevor laying on the bed on his phone.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were dating Trevor?”
Your eyes blew wide and you almost threw the phone across the room. Trevor’s head snapped up from the bed.
You checked to make sure she didn’t switch it to FaceTime and saw him on the bed, and sure enough she didn’t. “Who said that?” you laughed nervously.
“Your brother! Jack left me a voicemail last night. He said he just had to tell somebody. How long have you been keeping this from us?”
“Uh, it’s coming up on 10 months,” you said as nonchalantly as possible. Of course Jack told your mom. You were going to kill him.
“Ten months?” She shouted. “If I could ground you, I would. You could’ve brought him to Christmas! Why didn’t you tell anyone? We all love him.”
You sighed loudly. “Quinn and Luke don’t know. Don’t tell them. I kept it a secret because I wanted some privacy. They have literally never been normal about me dating, and they’d be even worse if they knew about Trevor.”
She sighed. “It’s only because they love you. I respect your privacy, but you should’ve told me about this sooner.”
You bit the inside of your lip, looking guiltily at Trevor. “I know. I’m sorry. It got away from me.”
“That’s alright, honey. Call me back later and tell me everything. I want all the details,” she said excitedly before hanging up.
You groaned, flinging yourself onto the bed next to Trevor. “This could not get any worse. She definitely told my dad. He’s not weird like my brothers but he’s gonna embarrass me next time he sees you.”
“I would never find anything about you embarrassing.” Trevor said, setting his phone down and reaching out to play with the strings of your bikini. “It’s not the end of the world. We were talking about telling people last night.”
“I know, but I wanted a few more weeks of just us.”
“And Jack,” he added.
“Yeah, and Jack,” you said distastefully.
Throughout the next week, you had to resist the urge to beat the crap out of your brother. You tried drowning him in the lake the day that your mom called you, but he was a damn good swimmer, and he threatened to yell out the secret to everyone on the boat.
Jack never missed a chance to make fun of you or borderline expose you to everyone. He and Cole had a blast with blackmailing you. At least your brother had one person he could talk to about it. As long as it kept everyone else in the dark, you could do with the terrorization.
Cole didn’t tell anyone Trevor slept in your room every night, but he sure did tease you about it. It was getting annoying, really, and you were starting to care less and less about where you were seen and what you were seen doing.
With the few people who knew already, and your mother practically planning your wedding, you were seriously considering letting it all slip one day.
You were probably going to tell everyone soon enough. You knew Trevor was tired of it. He was only doing it for you.
The two of you managed kept up the charade in front of the boys, although he had a tendency to get a little handsy at times. It was very hard for him to keep his hands off of you when you couldn’t have sex often due to the chance of someone overhearing.
You were on the couch with him one day, the others out on a boat ride. You two stayed behind to watch the season finale of a show you both liked.
Well, you were watching it. Now, you were making out. You were on top of Trevor, straddling him and grabbing onto the back of the couch for balance.
He was holding onto your hips, his hand occasionally roaming to squeeze your ass. His lips were hot and rough on yours. He already took your shirt off, the heat being too much for you.
You hands slipped under the fabric of his shirt, silently urging him to take it off. You got lost in the feeling of his warm skin against your fingers.
You heard a crash and a very loud, “What the fuck?”
You lifted your head off of Trevor’s and spotted Luke over the coach, his mouth wide open and his plate shattered on the floor.
“Put your damn shirt on.” He begun picking up bits and pieces of the plate.
“Jesus Christ, Luke. I thought you were on the boat.” You grabbed your shirt from beside you. Trevor made a noise when your leg dragged across his crotch as you got off of him. He covered it with his hand and his face with his hat.
“I wanted to watch this too. Thanks for ruining it. Just because everyone is gone doesn’t mean you can defile the couch like this,” Luke said, completely ignoring Trevor and focusing on you. “Quinn’s gonna kill him.”
“Well good thing Quinn doesn’t know, right?” you said warningly.
“Of course, but if he were to find out. . .”
“I’d kill you, then. Don’t be a menace.”
“Don’t fuck on the couch, fucking freaks,” Luke scoffed, and headed outside, saying nothing more about it.
“He didn’t seem to care much,” Trevor muttered.
“He doesn’t care. He just likes to terrorize me. You wouldn’t take him for the demon the he is with how quiet he is all the time, but he’s the fucking devil, so watch out. It’s why I didn’t want to tell him.” You thought back to the time where he “accidentally” pushed your ex boyfriend down the stairs in high school. It’s safe to say that you didn’t want to relive that.
“Well, he certainly knows now,” Trevor said. “That’s two out of three brothers and probably the rest of the house at this point.”
“I’ll tell Quinn soon, just not today,” You promised. “And preferably not when you’re within close proximity to him.”
For the next couple of days, it became clear that Trevor was right. The whole house knew except for big brother Quinn.
They weren’t being super subtle about it either, but good thing Quinn wasn’t great at picking up hints.
You and Trevor were getting sloppy with hiding it since you didn’t have to fake anything in front of most of the guys, but when Quinn was in the room, things were tense between you, but very enjoyable for your other two brothers to watch.
Three days after Luke caught you on the couch, you were all on the boat going for a sunset cruise.
You kept up steady conversation about this and that. Trevor was telling a story that you weren’t really listening to until you heard him say your name.
“So then Y/n was all like ‘What’s the deal with this shit?’ and I was like ‘I have no fucking clue,’”
“Wait a minute,” Quinn interrupted, lifting a hand from the steering wheel. “Why was Y/n in Anaheim? I thought she was with her friends for spring break that week.”
Your heart literally dropped to your ass. This was not how you wanted Quinn to find out. You wanted to sit him down in a space away from Trevor and break the news to him delicately. Not on a boat that he was driving in the middle of the lake.
Trevor stared at him before stuttering out an excuse. “Uh, she wasn’t. I was wherever she was and we ran into each other.”
“She was in Cabo. You said this happened at Disney Land. You’re talking about a Minnie Mouse parade. Are you on something?”
Jack was looking at you like your hair was on fire and Luke was staring at the floor. The rest of the boys were pretending like this wasn’t happening and distracting themselves with miscellaneous objects on the boat.
“I’m not on anything. I’m stone cold sober.”
Nice one, Trevor.
“Y/n, why were you in Anaheim with him?” Quinn asked calmly.
You were about to speak when you made eye contact with Jack (who looked like he might explode), and he took the liberty of doing it for you.
“They’ve been together for basically a year, and a few months ago I caught them together, and now everyone knows but you, and it’s been really stressing me out,” he said quickly.
“Oh my god, Jack, you can’t keep anything to yourself!”
“Everybody knows!” he protested.
“He doesn’t!”
The boat was approaching the dock, and Quinn didn’t say anything as he lined it up. “I don’t care who you date, Y/n. Just be responsible.”
“You really don’t care?” You were a little bewildered that he was so chill.
“Nah,” He said, looking over you, making sure that Luke was ready to jump off and tie it up.
Once the boat was secure, you all filed out onto the dock.
“Trevor, come here for a second,” Quinn said.
Trevor looked at you and you nodded. “I’ll be in the house,” you said, gesturing to the guys who were almost there.
Quinn wasted no time walking right up to Trevor and shoving him off the dock. He landed in the water with a big splash and resurfaced looking shocked with his hair in his eyes.
Your mouth fell open and Quinn brushed past you on the dock. “Quinn! What the hell?”
“I thought Jack told him to stay away from you. Guess he’s not too smart if he can’t do that.” He didn’t look at you, continuing to the house.
“Quinn, stop!” He did, and he turned around. He looked angry. “I’m the one who wanted to keep it a secret this whole time, don’t blame him.”
“Seriously, Y/n, you could’ve chosen any man in the world to be with, and that’s your pick?”
“It’s not my fault! I really didn’t mean to!”
“That’s reassuring,” Trevor muttered, grabbing onto the dock and hoisting himself up, rolling onto his back. He coughed a few times before getting up and grabbing a towel from the boat.
Trevor tried walking past Quinn but he grabbed his arm. “If I hear one complaint from her about you, when I shove you in the lake, I’ll make sure you drown.”
Trevor nodded. “You got it, boss.” He ran into the house, catching up with Jack and Cole, who were trying very hard not to laugh at him.
You sighed, watching him go. “You didn’t have to do that, Quinn.”
“No, I didn’t. I wouldn’t have to if I knew about it sooner.” He paused, running a hand over his face as he thought of what to say. “You should’ve told me. I thought we agreed you could trust me with anything.”
“I do trust you, Quinn, but you guys always do this. You, Luke, and Jack always give the guys I date shit and it never works out. Pretty much every one of my exes broke up with me because they were scared of you three, as fucking stupid as that is,” you confessed. “I didn’t want it to happen with Trevor. You don’t get it. He’s different.”
Quinn looked you up and down, taking in the look on your flushed face. “You love him.”
“Yeah.”
“Then I’ll back off,” he said earnestly. “There are worse guys that you could be with.”
“That’s true,” you agreed. “So, are we good?”
“If you’ll let us be.”
You nodded. “Of course. Let’s go inside now, Quinny.”
He followed you into the living room where everyone else was, they all tried to act like they weren’t paying attention. Trevor stood from the couch, looking at Quinn before looking at you.
“We’re all good,” you said. “He’s not gonna harass you, don’t worry.”
“I will if she wants me to, so watch out,” Quinn said.
Trevor grinned as Quinn came over to shake his hand. Jack snorted and tried to cover it up with a cough.
Quinn took Trevor’s spot on the couch and you nodded your head toward your bedroom. Trevor followed you there, ignoring the whistles from the boys.
He shut the door behind him, letting the towel he was using drop to the floor. He hugged you, getting your coverup wet as his damp curls tickled your neck.
“Free at last,” he murmured into your skin, making you giggle.
“Okay, get off. You smell like the lake, you gotta shower.” You pushed his chest away from you.
He grinned mischievously. “Only if you shower with me.”
You couldn’t help the smile that made its way across your face as he reached under your coverup to pull at your bikini strings. “I don’t see why not.”

Wait I need to see the gojo meets y/n’s parents thing.
Imagine how nice he’d be, but the second you guys go home he’s all over you (blushing n kicking my feet rn)
he would charm your parents so good and they would fall for it. he'll bring so many gifts and expensive too. the he goes like "oh i am just being polite. don't worry about it." THE WAY HE BECOMES THE FBI with how much he knows about your parents. what kind of tea your dad likes. what is your mom's fav color. what show do they like and he acts accordingly. showing up in the exact same shade of blue your mom likes. starts conversation about their favorite show. he even helps the mom with dishes and she immediately falls for how kind he is.
you are baffled because even you did not know your dad liked darjeeling tea. it's almost like he's their son and your just a guest. the whole car ride back home is filled with silly unserious arguements about whatever happened earlier tonight.
as soon as you open the door to your penthouse, he wastes no time crashing his lips on yours, hands running all over your body.
"d'you know how hard it was to keep my hands off you?" he coos.
"honestly, i was surprised. not even—mmh, not even a single inappropriate comment about me. i started missing them."
"yeah? good thing we're home, baby. will make all the inappropriate comments as i ruin this sweet pussy."

for @fuckvernon (happy birthday rat)
You have long sworn that the worst day of your life was the day you got married. Tears rolling down your otherwise impassive face as you stared at your equally expressionless fiance from across the altar. A stranger, practically, save for a few cordial business-like meetings between the two of your families.
You don’t remember what it felt like to kiss him that day, only the taste of salt from your own tears shared between you.
Now, your husband sleeps soundly beside you in the bed that you share. It was one of the stipulations of your marriage contract, one that he had insisted on. You didn’t question it at the time but you’ve always wondered why he was so adamant about it. You did have a lot of staff working around the house during the day but they always went home before either of you turned in for the night. It wasn’t like you had to keep up appearances then.
You’ve gotten used to it, at least. Sharing a bed with a stranger wasn’t as difficult now that he wasn’t a stranger anymore. A year had passed since the day you were wed— though it felt like thirty— and while you weren’t lovers, you were partners. Somewhat.
You understood each other, connected by the inseverable thread of your fates. Trapped together by your circumstances. It was simultaneously comforting and undeniably lonely.
The worst was when you would come back from events where you had to play up your relationship. Spending the evening arm in arm or holding hands, pretending to be devoted spouses to each other, only to drop the act as soon as you were back in the car.
You weren’t sure if Vernon felt the same way. He was so hard to read. The only time you were sure you knew exactly what he was feeling was on your wedding day, when he pulled you aside beforehand and whispered, “I’m sorry,” in your ear.
You knew he hadn’t wanted this either. It wasn’t fair to hold any of it against him, and yet a small part of you did.
You’ve clung to that resentment like a life preserver, afraid to let go and drown in feelings that threaten to overtake you. Resentment you can control. It protects you from what you can’t, like the growing fondness for your husband you’ve been trying to push down for a while now.
You tried your best to be indifferent to him, neither antagonistic nor overly amicable but the nagging thoughts in the back of your mind have been getting harder to ignore.
Tonight was the most challenging night yet. A charity dinner for one of your mother’s philanthropic endeavors, one she insisted ‘required your attendance’ despite your protests. You showed up as promised, only to be yanked into a dozen different conversations with your parents' friends.
Vernon was a good sport, as always. He was a natural at these things. His effortless charm had all of the ladies in your mother’s church group hanging on to his every word, all of their husbands laughing at his corny jokes. You tried your best to participate to take some of the pressure off of him and get your parents off your back but you mostly stuck to nursing your flute of champagne while he did the talking. You didn’t even like champagne.
The food was decent, at least, though you hardly got to enjoy any of it before your mother was pulling you into yet another discussion with a group of women from the board.
You chatted with them cordially, talking in circles about nothing until one of the board members dropped the reason they had actually dragged you over there.
“So, when are these two going to make you a grandmother?” she asked your mother, even though the question was obviously directed at you.
Your cheeks burned with embarrassment but Vernon squeezed your hand in reassurance. You prepared yourself to give the typical we’re not in a rush answer you always gave but your husband beat you to the punch.
“We’ve actually started trying,” he said casually, slipping the hand that wasn’t holding yours into the pocket of his slacks.
Your mother’s eyes lit up and her friends gasped in delight. Interesting reactions considering your husband had all but just told everyone he was hitting it raw every single night.
You had to act like this wasn’t also news to you and smile and nod very calmly even though you suddenly felt very sweaty all over.
“That’s wonderful!” another one of the women exclaimed. “You must be so excited,” she said to your mother.
“This is news to me, too,” she laughed. You were surprised that she was admitting to the lack of knowledge but maybe it was because Vernon would also know she was lying. “But yes, this is very exciting.”
She then reached forward and plucked your half-finished flute of champagne from your hands, chiding you that “you should know better”.
“Mom, I’m not pregnant now,” you groaned.
“You never know!”
But you did know. There was absolutely no way you were pregnant unless you were some kind of scientific mirable or the second coming of Mary herself.
Children had never been part of the marriage contract, thankfully. Both sets of your parents knew what the contract was- a business deal and nothing more. They were gracious enough not to burden you further with the requirement of an “heir”. You and Vernon both knew it was an unspoken expectation but neither of you were intent on fulfilling it, at least that’s what you thought.
The rest of the evening was spent talking about babies. One of the board members even recommended you to her OBGYN and made you write down her number. Vernon engaged animatedly with all of it, perfectly sliding into his new role of dad-to-be while you could hardly muster up the strength to fake a smile.
He was quiet on the ride home, driving silently down the highway with both hands on the wheel, not so much as looking at you. He didn’t offer any explanation for the curve ball he’d pitched right at the back of your head other than, “it’ll get them off our backs”.
You had so many more questions you wanted to ask. Had he changed his mind about the kids thing? Did he want to take your relationship... there? You had only kissed him a handful of times, always in the presence of other people in order to sell your marriage. Behind closed doors, your romance was nonexistent. You shared a bed because that was outlined in the contract you signed but that was it.
Whether or not you wanted more from him was irrelevant.
Vernon was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow but you were still up, thinking over every interaction from the night. You usually didn’t let yourself read into things because you were trying to keep yourself from falling down delusional rabbit holes but after tonight you couldn’t stop yourself from overanalyzing all of the things you always did your best to overlook.
You tried to distract yourself with a book you were reading but you couldn’t get a paragraph in before the words began to blur together on the page as your thoughts consumed you again.
You gave up half an hour ago and are now just staring at the ceiling, tracing the shadows created by the shade of the lamp on your bedside table with your gaze.
You heave a sigh and roll over to turn it off, only to be stopped by the sound of your husband stirring beside you. You freeze, afraid your movement disturbed him, but when you glance over your shoulder you find that he’s still asleep.
You wait a few more seconds before reaching for the light again, just to make sure he’s well and truly out, but this time he mumbles something out loud, causing you to turn over the other way to see if he’s trying to get your attention.
His eyes are closed but his breathing is ragged and uneven. He must be dreaming, you realize. This happens sometimes, when he’s especially tired or stressed out. He’ll talk in his sleep or toss and turn like he can’t get comfortable even though he’s totally unconscious. He always seems so distressed by them that you’ve assumed the dreams are nightmares.
You get torn over whether or not to wake him when they happen. The few times you have intervened he seemed grateful that you had but sometimes the dreams seem to stop on their own. His breathing will go back to normal, the crinkle between his brows will smooth out, and you’ll both sleep through the rest of the night peacefully.
You’re equally indecisive now. He shouldn’t have to suffer like that just because you’re too scared to wake him up, though, so you resolve to just bite the bullet and nudge him awake.
You suck in a breath and reach for your husband across the mattress, stopping short when he whimpers your name.
You’re frozen again but for an entirely different reason now. His sleeptalking wasn’t usually anything comprehensible, let alone your name. You stay like that for a few seconds, waiting to see if he’d say it again or if you had maybe misheard him.
To your surprise, he does say it again, this time followed by, “fuck”. Figures you’d be in his nightmares too.
“Vernon,” you hiss, jostling his shoulder.
“Hm?”
“Vernon, wake up.”
Your husband groans and blinks slowly, squinting in an attempt to make out your features.
“What is it?”
“You were having a bad dream,” you explain.
“Oh, th-thanks.”
“Are you okay? It seemed pretty intense.”
“I’m okay,” he assures you, swallowing harshly. “I’m sorry if I woke you up.”
“You didn’t. I haven’t been able to fall asleep.”
“Oh, okay.”
“Do you want some water or something?” you ask, taking in his appearance. Now that he’s alert and awake you can see just how disheveled he looks. He’s still panting hard and his cheeks are flushed and his bangs are sticking to his forehead, damp with sweat. He looks like you do at the end of a pilates class, not like a man who had just woken up.
“No, I’m alright, thank you.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah.”
Silence lapses between you, then your curiosity gets the better of you.
“What was it about?”
“What? What was what about?”
You stare at him. “Your nightmare.”
“It wasn’t a-anything important,” he stutters.
“That’s not what it sounded like.”
Vernon blinks. “What do you mean? What did I say?”
“You, um, called my name. A couple of times.”
He takes a moment to process what you’ve said and then sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Shit, I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s okay. I know it isn’t your fault.” He looks pained. “I just wanted to know why you were having a nightmare about me.”
“I wasn’t.”
“Vernon.”
“I wasn’t!” he insists.
“Lying to my mother’s friends might be second nature to you by now but you know that won’t work on me.”
“I’m not lying. It wasn’t a nightmare.”
“You expect me to believe that? You’re still all sweaty.”
“You just have to trust me,” he pleads.
“Why won’t you tell me what I was doing in your dream? I promise I won’t be upset.” Well, now you’re the one lying but he’s being so cagey about it that you feel like you have to get to the bottom of whatever it is that he’s hiding.
“You’ll look at me differently,” he groans.
“No, I won’t.”
“You will.”
“You’re really not going to tell me?” He doesn’t answer. “Fine.”
“Hold on, what are you doing? Where are you going?” he asks, watching as you sit up and grab your pillow from behind you.
“I’m going to sleep in the guest room,” you mutter.
You’d be breaking that stupid fucking clause in your contract if you did but you didn’t care. You’d pay whatever the fine was, you just couldn’t stand to be in the same bed as him for another moment.
“Wait, don’t get up-” Vernon tries but it’s too late.
You had gotten up anyway and pulled the covers back in the process, revealing the real reason your husband wouldn’t tell you what he was dreaming about.
“Oh,” is what you say. It’s all you can say.
He tries to cover himself with his hands but you’ve already seen.
“I’m so sorry,” he mumbles.
“So it was that kind of dream...” you muse, mostly to yourself.
He nods miserably. “Yeah... it was.”
“Are they always?”
“Are you really going to make me answer that?”
You drop your pillow back onto the bed and sit at its edge. Vernon peeks up at you, shying away when you lean closer.
“Will you tell me what it was about now?”
He balks. “What? You still want to know?”
“Wouldn’t you?”
“You’re going to think I’m a huge pervert,” he sighs. “If you don’t already.”
“Come on, you owe this to me.”
Even the tips of his ears are pink now. “It was... you know, it was about normal husband and wife stuff.”
“What is normal husband and wife stuff?”
Vernon whines. “You know what it is.”
“I want to hear you say it.”
“I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“I don’t want to disrespect you like that.”
“Why would that disrespect me? I’m your wife aren’t I?”
He gulps. “You... really want to know?”
“I do.”
“You were... touching me.”
“Touching you how? Like this?” You lay your hand over his, the warmth of your palm making him shiver.
“N-no.”
“Show me,” you murmur.
“Are you sure?”
“Only if you want to.”
He places his other hand over yours and guides it to his lap, pressing firm over the material of his pajama pants. You’re surprised to feel that the fabric is a little damp, already soaked through with precum.
Vernon’s breath hitches as you stroke him experimentally over his pants. He’s bigger than you expected, thicker at least. You were always... curious about that. Thought about it one too many times late at night after your husband had gone to bed early. And you still tried to delude yourself about being indifferent towards him.
“Fuck, that feels good,” he whispers.
“Is this what you were dreaming about?” you ask.
“Sort of.”
“What do you mean?”
“It started like this.”
“And then what happened?”
He whimpers in embarrassment again but you don’t let up, gripping him even harder. “We were kissing.”
“And?”
“And you started taking your clothes off.”
You let go of your husband’s cock and take hold of the hem of your sleep shirt, preparing to lift it over your head.
“Wait, can I do it?”
“Is that how it went in your dream?”
“N-no...”
“Maybe next time, then.”
Vernon’s eyes grow even wider. “There’s going to be a next time?”
You almost scoff at him. As if you were ever going to let go of him now that you had him.
He watches, mesmerized, as you take off your shirt and wiggle out of your shorts. You leave your underwear on, though, not wanting to expose yourself completely while he is still fully dressed.
“Oh my god, you’re so fucking hot,” he whines. “It’s so unfair- don’t laugh!”
You purse your lips together to try and stifle said laughter. “Sorry, sorry. I just didn’t expect you to be like this.”
“Like what?”
So pathetic, is what immediately comes to mind.
“So cute,” is what you actually say to him.
He pouts. “I’m not usually this... needy,” he insists.
You have trouble believing that but you don’t argue. Only time will tell, you suppose.
“Can I touch you?” he asks before you can say anything in response.
He’s been staring at your tits since you took your shirt off. You’re tempted to tease him a little more but you’re also just as desperate to feel him so you nod.
He scrambles to his knees and leans forward, nearly falling flat on his face in the process. You expect him to go right for your boobs but he touches your shoulders first. He’s gentle, running his thumbs across your collarbones and then up the column of your neck before finally tucking your hair behind your ear.
Then he moves lower, tracing invisible lines down your chest to your nipples, gasping quietly when he finds that they’re hard under his palms.
“Vernon?”
His head snaps up to look at you. “Hm?”
“Kiss me.”
You’ll never forget what it feels like to kiss him after tonight. He puts one hand on the back of your head and pulls you into him, kissing you with all of the desire and longing and painful anticipation he’s held on to for so many months.
You catch his bottom lip between your teeth and tug, relishing in the gasp he lets out in return. You only draw back when he starts to mumble incoherently into your mouth, and it’s reluctant. You want to keep kissing him, but you also figure what he’s saying might be important.
“I’ve wanted to do that for so long,” he rasps. “So long.”
“I know,” you sigh. “All those dreams...”
“It’s not just the dreams.” You want to ask him to elaborate but he’s rambling again before you can. “Can I eat you out? Please, can I taste you, baby?”
He’s never called you that behind closed doors before. It takes you aback. “I-”
“Please? Let me make it up to you. Let me make it all up to you, I promise I’ll make you feel so good.”
“Okay,” you agree meekly.
“Here, lay down. Yeah, lay down just like that.”
He’s frantic for it, hurrying to get between your legs as you spread them for him. He helps you get your panties off and starts to kiss his way up your thighs, the heat of his lips searing and fervent. He stops just before he reaches your pussy and lifts his gaze to meet your eyes.
“You’re sure?” he asks.
 You nod. “I’m sure.”
Just like when he kissed you, he’s gentle at first as he laves his tongue over you. He takes his time, showing more restraint than you were expecting while he explores you.
“Taste so sweet,” he mumbles and the vibrations from his voice make you moan and thread your fingers through his hair so that you can push his face even further into you. He goes until he has to come up for air, and when he does, he’s literally dripping with you. “Spent so many nights thinking about the way you’d taste,” he gasps, “telling myself I’d never get to find out.”
“Is it as good as you hoped?” you ask.
“You have to let me do this to you every night,” he says before burying his tongue in you again.
It’s not an answer, not really, but you can tell he’s already a little pussydrunk and therefore a little stupid. He’s been grinding against the mattress the entire time he’s been giving you head, working himself up just as much as you. But you don’t want him to cum until he’s fucked you so you tug at his hair to get his attention.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing, just want you to fuck me.”
“For real?”
“Yes, for real. Is that not part of your dreams?”
“It-it is.”
“Come on, then.”
You watch him start to unbutton his pajama shirt, trying to commit every frame of him to memory so that you could replay the scene in your mind whenever you missed him. Once his shirt’s off, he reaches for the waistband of his pants but stops suddenly as something dawns on him.
“I don’t have any condoms.”
“None?”
“Listen, it’s not like either of us have been getting laid.”
It’s true. Even though your marriage up until this point had only been on paper, you and Vernon had both agreed to include an infidelity clause in your contracts. You weren’t allowed to sleep with anyone but your husband which had made you think you’d either be celibate for the rest of your life or only add a notch to your bedpost when your families finally wore you both down about kids.
“You can just pull out,” you tell him.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, my best friend says she and her husband do that all the time.”
“Well, now I can never look at Jeon Wonwoo the same ever again so thanks for that.”
“Vernon,” you whine, “are you going to fuck me or not?”
“Right, sorry.”
Your husband climbs on top of you, encouraging you to wrap your legs around his waist as he lines himself up.
“You’re sure you’re okay with me pulling out? I can get condoms first thing in the morning and-”
“I’m sure,” you assure him. “I trust you.”
He breathes a sigh of relief and pushes inside of you. “Fuck, I lo-”
He catches himself, eyes wide. You can’t even say anything because he starts fucking you before you can process what he almost said, purposefully distracting you. He’s using his dick against you which is frankly unfair.
But you can’t be too mad about it either because it feels so fucking good. It’s also intense, though. His cock is a lot bigger than your fingers and it’s been a long time since anything but those had been inside of you so need a little longer to adjust to the stretch.
“Slow, slower,” you plead.
He slows down immediately and lowers himself to kiss you. “Sorry, I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, it feels good, you’re just really goddamn thick and I need a minute.”
Vernon laughs, which does nothing to help your predicament. “Take all the time you need.”
When you finally do get used to the feeling, and you finally convince Vernon that you’ve recovered (you have to repeat yourself four times), it’s like you’ve broken a spell. Your husband turns into your lover in the blink of an eye.
“God damn it, you’re perfect. How is everything about you so perfect,” he murmurs. “Perfect fucking wife... wasted so much time...” You want to tell him that you can make up for it now, that you have years- your whole lives to make up for it, but the words won’t come. “Shit I’m close, are you close?”
You nod, trying your best to verbalize a response. What you end up saying is nonsensical but Vernon seems to understand it because he keeps going, keeps hitting that spot that’s making you gush all over him until you’re tearing up and sobbing out his name as you cum around him.
He holds on just long enough to fuck you through your orgasm before he pulls out and gives in to his own, cumming all over your tummy with little to no aim. The sight is so pretty you think you could cum again untouched just from watching him.
He collapses beside you in a breathless heap. “I’m s-sorry I should’ve asked where you wanted it.”
“I don’t think I could’ve given you an answer anyway.”
“And I’m sorry that was so short, I usually last longer-”
“Stop apologizing! It was amazing.”
“Fine, fine. I’ll clean you up,” he promises, pressing a chaste kiss to your lips. “Just give me a second.”
You lie there in silence together for a few moments as you wait to regain feeling in your fingers and toes. You have so much to talk about now, but all you can manage to ask is, “so, is that is how all your dreams go?”
Vernon snorts and shakes his head in disbelief.
“I told you, I’m curious!”
“S-sometimes you’re the one fucking me,” he admits shakily.
“Like, I’m the one on top?”
Vernon winces. “Not exactly...”
“Oh.”
“Yeah.”
“We can make that happen.”
He lights up. “Really? That’s something you’d be into?”
“I’m into anything you’re into.”
“God, you really are perfect.”

I’ll wipe those tears til’ they stop falling.
or, they help you fight your demons, featuring: bofurin + jo togame
a/n: this was originally an ask, but I accidentally lost the original ask (I’m so sorry about that love!) and had to create a separate post. writing these actually gave me a sense of comfort as a long-time survivor of depression/self harm, and i hope it can give you all some comfort too if you’ve ever suffered from that <3
c/w: fairly heavy themes, such as undertones of depression/anxiety/self harm/relapse/bullying/suicidal thoughts/social anxiety (these aren’t explored too deeply, but they are there), hurt/comfort, fluff, soft!boys, protective!boys, established relationships, some language, hugs, self-harm scars, minor bad thoughts, togame’s has a very very little bit of spice in it
you are so strong and beautiful; keep holding on darling <3.

“…I just don’t know if I can take it anymore, ume.” you sniffed, eyes glistening with tears that you desperately wished not to shed. “I don’t even know what’s wrong with me… I thought I was past all this.”
you had been keeping your distance from your boyfriend for a few weeks now; your conversations with him had grown infrequent due to your lack of energy. your own mind had been sapping it from you, filling your chest with a sense of isolation and hollowness as it forced you to push everyone away.
you didn’t understand why umemiya wasn’t angry at you, or why his eyes still glowed with ever-deepening adoration — he was sitting with you as if no time had ever passed, as if you hadn’t nearly cut him from your life.
umemiya’s hand was large and warm around yours, his long fingers slipped comfortably between the gaps of your own. he listened to you talk with a soft smile on his face; despite the turmoil rioting within you, the gentle expression still made your stomach erupt into butterflies.
“I don’t think there’s anything wrong with you,” umemiya finally murmured, voice softer than you’d ever heard it before. “feeling emotions is proof that you’re alive. and it’s okay to not be okay, you know? but…”
umemiya used the leverage of his grip on your hand to pull you closer to him, until you had to shuffle into his lap just to avoid crashing into him. his body was warm beneath and against yours, and when he pressed your head comfortably into his chest with his other hand, his heartbeat seemed to resonate with and control your own.
“…when things start to get hard, don’t try to tackle them all alone. if you find that your strength is wavering, come to me. I’ll be your strength instead.”
those tears that you tried so desperately to keep at bay slipped out of your eyes like slick oil, sliding down the curve of your chin and plopping onto the front of umemiya’s shirt. your heart was shaky in your chest, each beat feeling constricted with the weight of intense emotions.
you weren’t even sure which one took the most precedent — happiness, shame, love, relief, frustration… they were all rampaging inside your chest, threatening to tear you apart at the seams.
god, you didn’t want to cry anymore.
“if you need to cry, don’t hold it back. I’ll stay with you — forever and ever, okay?”
well, as long as umemiya was there, maybe it was okay to cry for a while longer.

there was an itch beneath your skin; one that was insistent and familiar. the voices around you grated in your ears, rousing up static within your mind. your breath rattled in your lungs as you tried to suck down air as inconspicuously as possible. when had it become so stuffy in here…?
pothos was the group hangout — one that you had become comfortable and familiar with. any other day, the clamor within it would have soothed you; the clinking of silverware, the harmony of your friends’ voices melding together, kotoha calling out orders or yelling at your booth to settle down.
but right now, it felt like too much — your skin was going to peel off. before you could stop yourself, you brought your hand up to your wrist. pain bloomed along your skin as you dug crescents into the tender flesh. the pain morphed into an anchor, one that could keep you from being tossed around by the tumultuous waves.
but all too soon, that anchor was ripped from you — by none other than sakura, who grabbed your wrist to halt your movements.
you fixed him with a look of shock — you were unable to read his eyes; you couldn’t see any anger, or disappointment, or shock. they were brimming with an emotion that you couldn’t identify.
sakura remained silent as he pulled your hand towards his body, and you watched as he guided it down to his own wrist.
“if you need to do that, do it to me instead.” sakura whispered, and your heart dropped in your chest. what was he saying? you couldn’t hurt sakura that way!
“but I c-couldn’t hurt you—” you started with a stutter, only for sakura to stop you by tightening his fingers ever so slightly around your wrist. that emotion in his eyes deepened even further, and his voice shook when he murmured,
“then you understand why I can’t watch you do it to yourself.”
your heart skipped a beat. ah, that’s what that emotion was. deep, unearthed concern, born from feelings so intense that they could barely be contained. sakura couldn’t stand to watch you hurt yourself, because simply watching you do it had the same effect as you digging your nails into his very heart.
“I won’t do it anymore.” you promised in a whisper, rocked to your own core by how sincere you were about the sentiment. you didn’t need to use pain as an anchor anymore — because you had sakura, and he was the strongest anchor you could ever ask for.
Tumblr media
“suo is dating her? but why?”
“I don’t know — she’s just so… plain, isn’t she?”
“I bet he lost a bet or something!”
their whispers echoed in your brain even long after they’d been uttered, slithering into the cracks of your subconscious and nesting there, until, at some point, you had begun to believe them.
why would suo choose you? out of everyone he could have, why would he choose the plainest girl in the town? you didn’t have any outstanding features, and your body was just on the low end of average — and suo was handsome, charming, talented and strong.
you used to believe that you had a place next to him, but now… now you weren’t so sure.
“you seem rather distracted, love; is something on your mind?” suo’s voice was like a soothing balm to your nerves, warm and familiar — but it struck a chord of pain in your chest, too, because it was just another reminder of how out of your league he was.
you swallowed thickly, those words once again bouncing around your skull. plain, average, untalented, dumb…
“suo, do you regret dating me?” you asked, choked up. you weren’t sure why you decided to phrase it that way; it just seemed to make the most sense that way.
suo fell silent. you didn’t dare raise your eyes to meet his — you couldn’t bare to see what may be within them. salty tears stung in your eyes, but you refused to let them fall; once you’d heard suo’s answer, you’d consider doing so. but until then, you would keep them contained.
there was the softest shuffle of movement, and in the next instant, you were letting out a small yelp as a body plopped down on the tatami mat behind you, and strong arms snaked around your waist.
the strong scent of patchouli invaded your nose and soft threads tickled your collarbone when suo hooked his head over your shoulder. suo was warm, enveloping your entire body from behind and filling you with a sense of safety.
“the only thing I regret,” suo started softly, his voice deep and reverent. “is not meeting you sooner.”
and suo’s voice was raw with such sincere emotion that the few words he’d uttered held more impact on your heart than a million reassurances.
your tears fell in unbidden rivulets from your eyes, but they were weighed down by pure happiness.

“… I swear, one of these days I really am going to back kick him into a different dimension…”
you wanted to pay attention to what your boyfriend was saying; really, you did. but your mind was so occupied by other thoughts — or, more accurately, occupied with keeping out other thoughts.
the urges had been more frequent, lately. it wasn’t as though anything was going wrong in your life; your grades were spectacular, you were surrounded by warm friends, and you were dating one of the best people on earth — yet, those thoughts and those feelings were still creeping in.
that drawer you had closed so long ago resonated with enticing whispers, the tiny objects located within beckoning you to pick them up once more.
come back to us… we’re your true friends. don’t you remember how much we helped you? how free you felt with us?
you shivered. even when you weren’t in your room, even when you couldn’t see the door of that drawer, you could still hear them.
“…babe? are you okay?” you blinked back to reality at the sound of hiragi’s voice calling out to you — it was then that you’d realized you had stopped in your tracks, and hiragi was standing in front of you, one large hand wrapped around your wrist and face painted with an expression of worry. how long had he been calling out to you?
“I-I’m sorry, what were you saying, hiragi?” you asked, almost robotically. those whispers had shirked into the shadows of your mind, but you could still hear them hissing at you.
hiragi studied you for a long moment, his eyes shaded with something you couldn’t put your finger on.
“the urges have come back, haven’t they?” hiragi asked suddenly. his voice held no judgement, anger, or sadness, and his eyes remained fixed in yours while he stroked the skin of your held wrist with his thumb. the scars, you realized belatedly. you swallowed thickly before nodding, tears gathering in your eyes.
you wished you could say no — you wished you could tell hiragi that you’d completely forgotten about the blades in your drawer; or better yet, that you’d thrown them in the trash rather than stowing them away out of sight.
but you couldn’t.
hiragi sighed softly and glanced down at your hand. after a moment, he slid his hand from your wrist to your hand, and with gentle fingers, he pried it open until it was facing palm up. he kept it in his grip as he used his free hand to remove his necklace from his neck.
he placed the jewelry into your palm, the metal warm from the heat of his chest. your eyes widened. he never took that off.
when hiragi was sure you had a firm hold on the necklace, he dropped your hand and brought both of his up to cradle your face. he leaned in and pressed his lips to your forehead in a sweet, chaste kiss.
“when those urges come, grab onto that necklace. use it as a reminder that I love you, and even when I’m not there, I’m still with you.”
hiragi’s breath was warm against your forehead, and you could feel the slide of his lips across the skin as he spoke. the depth of his words wrapped around you like the softest, comfiest blanket, and as hiragi gathered you into his arms to hold you tight, you realized that the whispers were silent.

you’d been with togame for a couple of months now — and you couldn’t be happier. he was an unbelievable package; sweet and loving, tall, romantic, considerate, and attractive to an extent that was almost unfair. but best of all, he let the relationship unfold at your pace.
there was no rush from him; whether it was kissing or sharing deep secrets, he let you do it on your own time. it was a monumental relief, especially in the physical aspect.
because you were hiding something from togame — something you didn’t know if you’d ever be able to show him.
your scars.
buried deep into your wrists, straight and jagged, crisscrossing and bumping — they were ugly, mars against the smooth expanse of the rest of your arm.
you had long since put down the knife. It had been over a year since you last cut, and as of late, you were no longer struggling with the urges of relapse. you had togame to thank for that.
it made you feel horrible. togame never hid anything from you — he’d even told you about the cruel things he’d done, about how he used to treat people. how much he’d hated himself then. he offered himself up as an open book for you to read any time you pleased.
and yet, you couldn’t bring yourself to show him. you couldn’t bear the thought of him knowing who you used to be, what you used to do. you were terrified of his reaction, terrified that it would make him treat you differently.
terrified that he would love you differently.
you didn’t want togame’s view of you to change; even if it meant hiding something so big from him. it was selfish and incredibly unfair, you knew this. but you were too weak, too scared. you didn’t want to lose togame.
you didn’t want togame to be grossed out by you.
but, as they say, things that are hidden in the dark must always come to the light, and they’ll do so in some way or another.
maybe it was just karmic retribution that it turned out this way; or maybe it was your own raging hormones, the ones that beckoned you to shed your long-sleeved shirt to feel togame’s skin against your own.
whatever it was, it was too late to assign blame — because your shirt was off, and togame had seen; his emerald eyes were glued to your left wrist, to the scars that littered the skin.
you held your breath while your heart shuddered in your chest. you were unable to read togame’s expression — at this point, you weren’t sure if it was because there wasn’t any emotion behind his expression or because your own mortification was blinding you.
for a moment, togame was simply silent. then, his eyes slid from your wrist and back to your face, but he didn’t say anything. instead, he leaned back down and recaptured your lips in a kiss. the heat he’d had before hadn’t faded in the least, but you were so shocked and confused that you couldn’t respond.
there were many thoughts racing through your mind, but plucking a single one out to focus on was near impossible. why wasn’t togame reacting to them? did he not care?
“they don’t change a thing,” togame suddenly murmured against your lips, sending your train of thought to a screeching halt. “they don’t change the way I feel about you. they don’t change the way I see you. you’re still the most beautiful woman I’ve ever met.”
you couldn’t understand why, but togame’s words brought tears to your eyes. they were fat and salty, sliding from the corners of your eyes and soaking straight into the freshly clean sheets. your heart felt like it was aching — but it was the ache that came from fullness, from emotion so strong that it threatened to completely shatter its container.
unadulterated love and acceptance. that’s what these warm, intense feelings were. he loved and accepted you, scars and all; and togame kissed and soothed that sentiment straight into your body, heart and soul — until there was no other thing you could do except feel it.

thinking about johnny being completely smitten with an extremely reserved reader <3
johnny was head over heels from the very beginning. he couldn’t pinpoint when it had happened, but maybe it was when you first joined the force. at the initial greeting, he’d struck you with one of his bright smiles, only for a blank canvas to stare in return.
you hadn’t said a word, not a peep, and while others would be turned off by such reclusiveness, he was in awe.
an enigma, you were, and johnny was someone who loved a good puzzle.
you were cold and distant, but not in the way that was cruel and unnerving. you didn’t throw out snarky comments, you didn’t show a single bit of rudeness when somebody’s ticked you off. you weren’t hard headed, nor did you pitch a fight. you were a calm sea with peaceful waves lapping at the shore. a light rain on a dry day, one where in ancient times would’ve been a blessing from the gods. as cold as snow, but the kind that layered the ground in a fresh sheet of white right after a blizzard, painting the earth with powdered beauty.
if anything, you weren’t cold at all. you were just so incredibly awkward that johnny couldn’t help but be smitten by it.
you were that type of awkward where social cues were nearly impossible for you to comprehend. jokes didn’t land quite right whenever somebody made them, and you’d give a blank look to whomever fell victim, added on with a dumb “what?” because you didn’t understand it.
johnny’s been an unfortunate victim on many occasions. he’s always the type to nudge you on the shoulder with a crooked grin as he spilled out whatever joke ghost had told him over comms, only to be met with your complete and utter confusion.
that never stopped him, though. if anything, it made him much more determined to search up more jokes on the screen of a burner phone, reading through every single one and noting them in the back of his mind.
you were also as stone-faced as could be. some theorized you were a robot, others thought you were a demon in disguse. an experiment, placed into 141 as a trial run.
really, expressing yourself just wasn’t your thing.
you felt emotions, sure. plenty of them. you could find the humor in the occasional bar night with the force, amused at the linger of carefree conversation that carried between the men. you just didn’t show it.
it wasn’t something you realized until johnny had made the point of asking you if you ever smiled. thinking back on it, you recalled never directly doing so. you’d do it in your head, but when it came down to it, no, no you didn’t.
johnny was determined when keeping a goal in mind, and found himself ruthlessly running towards that goal of seeing you smile. he was enamored in the thought of seeing the slant of your lips when they curved upwards, in seeing your eyes crinkle and glimmer with delight, and he’d go through every single joke website in order to make it happen.
it took him an approximate year of you being in the force to get it to work.
it was lame, really. hardly one of his best jokes, he’d drunkenly slurred out, “what rank are all cats in the army? corpurrral,” with a tongue roll effect to go with it.
you had burst into laughter, filling the bar air with ringing church bells that he swore made the drunken state of his mind believe he was truly on his way to heaven. the gates had opened, inviting him in. he was levitating, slowly floating his way to the clouds.
your smile was like a breath of air — refreshing. it filled his lungs with such purity that all the cigarettes he’d smoked over the years of being in the force seemingly melted the thick layer of tar away, leaving him clean and refurbished.
it was like a drug, and johnny found himself seeking more out to get another taste, even if it took him another year to do so.

Pairing(s): Lucien x reader
Warnings: light swearing
Summary: When Elain rejects the mating bond, the High Lord of Autumn spares no sympathy for his youngest son (well… you know. Anyways.) Hosting a ball with all the most eligible maidens in the court, you are of course eligible and happy to attend, wishing from afar for so many years — but, you decide to take a different approach to hopefully win his heart.
SR’s Note: *sigh* this is my current favorite art for my favorite fox boy… did I stare at it for way too long? Maybe. Anyways, here’s the fic. Enjoy! xoxo
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚: *
Honestly, you couldn't understand what the fuck was wrong with the Archeron girl.
First of all, she was blessed enough to look the way she did -- not that you wanted to look just like her, you would thank the Mother every day and night for blessing you with such lovely parents of your own who'd only pass on their best genes to you. But, she didn't have to try so damn hard to catch the eye of every male in Prythian, just with the swoosh of her skirt or the toss of her hair over her shoulder.
It sure caught the eye of the youngest Vanserra.
Her mate.
Don't even begin with her newfound Cauldron-blessed gift, either. It seemed like everywhere she went, all that was talked about was, "Ooh! Elain, the seer" or "have you been seeing anything new?" blah blah blah, I mean really -- how much longer will we hyperfixate on this? On her? Long gone was talk of her younger sister, the one who literally saved the land from Hybern's hand. You wondered if she ever grew as tired of her sister's attention as you did, not that you knew the Cursebreaker personally.
However, none of it mattered the 28th night of September. You'd been working that evening in the Autumn Palace, completing the tasks assigned as the Lady of Autumn's first assistant when you heard probably the best rumors to ever grace your ears. Beron had been passing you in the hall with his oldest son Eris, and you spared both of them a nod as they passed. Eris returned the small smile, having known you for years, but you didn't expect much from his father, knowing how cruel he was even with his own wife. You also didn't expect to hear the conversation they were having, but you slowed your pace as they continued in the opposite direction down the corridor from you.
"The girl said she wanted the bond broken," Beron muttered in a menacing tone. Eris sighed, and your breath hitched.
"What do you think Lucien-" Eris started.
"I'm not asking Lucien what he thinks. We won't deal with some ignorant wench who doesn't know what she wants. I'm not surprised she doesn't want to deal with him, but I won't deal with the scandal of him going unmated..." Beron's cruel tone fades as the pair rounds the corner of the corridor, and you brace yourself on one of the credenzas along the wall for a moment. Elain wants to break the bond? There's no way. You look up, eyes catching on your reflection in the dimly lit mirror hung on the wall. Was she really so unhappy that she would ask to break something so sacred, with someone as special as Lucien?
You took a steadying breath, forcing your feet to keep carrying you and your completed task sheet to the Lady of Autumn's office. You could barely focus; what was Lucien going to do? How was he feeling? You remembered all of the times you'd stolen glances at him, all the memories of hearing his warm but rare laugher through these very halls with his brothers over the years. He wasn't around as much anymore, but that didn't stop the desire that still warmed your heart at the thought of him.
"Thank you for your assistance, Y/N," the Lady of Autumn's voice was a warm caress as you laid down the task sheet upon her desk. "You're free to go for the evening."
With a nod you made for the door, but instead of heading for the front of the palace, you made way for the back stairwell, one that led to the private bedrooms. You knew your way around this place as you'd worked here for years, becoming rather close with the family and the boys that lived here. You counted the doors: one, two, three on the right side, and gave the third door a soft knock. Within moments, it was unlatched and a familiar pair of mahogany eyes met yours.
"Oh... hello, Y/N," Eris steps back, allowing you into his room before his father caught on somehow that you were still here. You silently slipped inside, as you'd done so many times before and taken a seat on the edge of his mattress. He perched near the top by his pillows, and offerred a quizzical look. "What brings you-"
"I need to know. I need to know about Lucien." You cut in. Eris' face immediately softened in realization. You'd been in this position many a time, coming to Eris with your concerns about his brother and him confiding his own feelings in you. This is what drew the two of you so close and provided a friendship so precious you knew you had to keep secret, as Beron was unpredictable and could use it as a weapon in a time of his own need.
"Elain... she asked Helion today to break their bond. He told my father right after she'd requested it." His hand found yours, and you loosed a breath. Your heart constricted, only imagining what Lucien must be going through right now.
"And... and Lucien? Was he-" Eris only shakes his head. Your sadness turns to anger, and you yank your hand back. You rise from the bed, beginning to pace back and forth in his room as traitorous thoughts cloud your mind.
"So, he wasn't even there? He doesn't even know?" You say, voice rising in octave. Eris leans forward, pressing a forefinger to his lips and shushing you.
"Shhhh, he likely knows by now," he says soothingly. But it doesn't matter. You feel as though your rage is bubbling over like the milky substance of the Caldron.
"Yeah. You're right, he probably knows -- I'm sure it probably hurts pretty fuckin' bad when a cord inside of you just... just..." You're throwing your hands in the air, fists clenched and shaking. "...breaks right in half out of nowhere-" Eris is instantly on his feet, taking both of your wrists in his, eyes searching yours in all seriousness.
"Y/N." He says solemnly. "You have to calm down. Someone is going to hear you, okay?" He says calmly. Your breath is heavy, chest rising and falling rapidly as his hands still grip your wrists mid-air. He lets go, moving one hand to brush the stray hairs sticking to your face behind your ear, clinging to your forehead with the sweat you've worked up. "Just, take a deep breath, okay? I'm not too keen on it either, but this isn't my situation to have an opinion on, alright? We have to try and remember that."
You take his words into consideration, wiping your perspirating hands on your smock and breathing deeply. He takes a step back from you, allowing you your space and returning to sit on the bed. You follow, rubbing your hands over your face in defeat.
"My father doesn't want this to be a big thing," he continues, and you move your hands to look at him. He peers at the patch of bedsheets between the two of you, appearing to zone out as he continues. "He thinks if he finds someone else for Lucien quickly, the whole bond "thing" won't cause too much talk and Lu will be able to get over it faster or something." You roll your eyes, scoffing.
"That's the most rediculous thing I've ever heard." You say.
"I know." He replies. You shake your head, biting your bottom lip.
"What's he planning to do? Line someone up for Lucien to wed instead?" You ask. You really don't want to know the answer -- hearing he had a mate was already heart-wrenching enough, now hearing he would be betrothed to another would be even worse.
"He's planning to have a courting ceremony in two days, in the palace," he says. You perk up.
"Oh?"
"Mhm," he continues, eyes sliding to yours with a mischevious grin. "Now, don't get your hopes up, but he's only inviting the most eligible maidens and High Fae to attend, but anyone in attendance would technically have the right to Lucien's hand, if he accepts it. I've known a sly fox like you long enough that-"
"You know I'll find a way in." You finish. He chuckles.
"You also have to get him to say yes." You heart sinks a little. With Eris, its always been so easy -- the conversations, the getting along, the understanding. But, you started working here not too long before Lucien was on his way out the door. You could only pray you would be able to talk to him the same as his brother.
"Don't worry about it, Y/N. I'm sure when Lu sees how charming you can be, he'd be stupid not to take your hand." Eris flashes an award-winning smile, and you can't help but feel hopeful by his tone.
You only hope you can pull this off without a hitch.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚
The deep violet dress you wore clung to every curve, the soft fabric scrunching in all the right places as it brushed the against your legs and drug along the leaf-littered ground behind you. You'd allowed your hair out of your usual braid for tonight, the long wavy tendrils sweeping down your exposed back, locks illuminated by the moonlight. You had to admit, you did appreciate the way you looked when you put in some effort -- you'd do it everyday, only for him.
"Y/N," Eris' soft whisper-shout echoes from the illuminated doorway as you round the corner of the palace, just where you'd arranged to meet. Turns out, sneaking into the ball was a lot easier than you'd thought; Beron was too busy in the throne room to pay any mind to where his oldest son was, which of course, was helping you enter through one of the unguarded back entrances.
"Wow," he breathes, pulling the heavy door closed and ushering you inside. "You're a vision." You blush, swatting his arm.
"Well, while I appreciate the compliment," you state. "Let's hope your brother reciprocates the sentiment."
Eris chuckles. "He would be a damned fool not to." You followed closely behind him as he led you down corridor after corridor, some unfamiliar at first as he peered around the corners before leading you down the halls. The sound of people talking rang out, and you heard the approaching throne room, recognising more of your surroundings. You placed a hand on Eris' arm, the fabric of his ornate jacket rough under your touch.
"You go in first," you say.
"Are you sure?" He asks, a tender look in your friend's eye.
You give him a knowing look. "Yes, your father would be suspicious if we walk in together." He nods, opening the doors a slit and slipping inside. You take a deep breath, wringing your hands and grounding yourself once more. You were finally going to have a chance, a chance to see him again tonight - and try your very best to not mess this all up.
Opening the door, you inch inside, hoping to not catch the eye of Beron or the Lady of Autumn -- youwere, after all, not "technically" invited to this thing after all. Luckily, you'd waited long enough that their attention had drifted back to the dancefloor and Eris had made it to their side by now, and only he was looking to you as you slid along the wall noiselessly blending in with the crowd.
Your gaze searched the scene, looking for a certain redhead. Of course, Eris stood out among the crowd of beautiful maidens, all adorning lovely full gowns and makeup much more extravagant than your own. Guess you didn't get the memo. Nonetheless, you see a few of Lucien's brothers making their rounds as well, girls shamelessly flirting with them too. However, the Vanserra you were seeking was nowhere to be found.
That is, until a few moments later when Beron rose and cleared his throat.
"Good evening to everyone," he began and the room quieted. You slunk deeper into the shadows, trying to remain hidden as he peered out into the crowd.
"Thank you all for attending this rather, special, evening," he chuckles. Eris rolls his eyes at his father's indecency. You can't help but do the same as a few girls near you giggle in excitement.
"I would like to present my son of the evening, the most eligible and willing bachelor, Lucien Vanserra," he says. Lucien stalks out from the entrance beyond the thrones, and many of the ladies in the room gasp and giggle. You can't help but widen your eyes at his presence. You had to admit, his beauty was incomparable.
"Allow the ball to commence!" Beron ends his stupid announcement with that, and Lucien's stoic expression has your gaze dropping, remembering how hard this must be from him. Women all around are fluttering about, some gossiping, some flanking his side immediately -- Gods, that must be so suffocating. Your gaze meets Eris', and he tosses you a wink, motioning with his hands in a way that indictates give him some time. You then watch him glance at the incessant ladies pouncing on Lucien, and see him grimace and shake his head. You giggle, and head for the table of treats along the wall. If you have to wait your time, that's fine -- you'd been playing the long game for this long anyways, what was a few more hours?
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* ✧・゚
Yes, you'd been crushing from afar for so long -- but now that you shared air, it was a lot harder to stay on a long leash.
Watching him share dance after dance with beautiful fae after beautiful fae was... well, hurtful. You knew what you wanted, well... what you damn near needed, but you also knew that you needed to wait for the right moment.
What did you have that these ladies didn't?
All night, you looked around, comparing -- they were gorgeous, all High Fae, all much more glamorous than you. But, did they know him? No. Did they have much of a personality, or were they just here in hopes of being married off to the High Lord's newly-available son?
You needed to take the different approach.
And, hiding out by the food tables would not get you noticed.
You knew by the look on Lucien's face that he was getting tired of dancing the same dance, over and over and over. Having the same conversations, over. And over. And over. Sooner or later, he'd need an escape, and you knew this place like the back of your hand.
So where would he go?
You slipped outside, to the vast expanse of the private balcony off the throne room and rested your arms on the marble railing. Eris didn't miss your exit, suggesting to his brother a breath of fresh air, which he was happy to oblige in. You would have to remember to thank him later.
"Uhh, miss? This is a private balcony-"
You turn, hair brushing over your shoulder with the movement. Your eyes meet his, and heat floods your cheeks at the realization that the moment has finally come. The moonlight illuminates every russet freckle on his skin, the color matching his iris as his eyes widen in his own realization.
"Y/N?" He whispers, taking a tentative step toward you. You crack a half smile. You shrug your shoulders.
"In the flesh."
He walks quickly over to you, gasping and wrapping his arms around your waist. He pulls you in so tight, and your arms wrap around his neck. He laughs against your neck, the sound as light and magnificent as the stars above. You inhale deep, his scent of amber and sunshine warming you to the core.
"I can't believe this, I... I haven't seen you in forever, I mean... how... wait, how are you here?" He chuckles again, releasing you. You wish he would hold you forever, but you pull back to look at him. He's still smiling down at you, a mere foot from you now, his hands still resting on the small of your waist.
"Well... you know I would never be invited to this sort of thing but... I've never exactly played by the rules." You wink at him, and he rolls his eyes, laughing heartly once more. He inhales fully and lets it go, gazing once more at you.
"Ohhhh, Y/N, it sure is good to see you again. And no, you never have played by any kind of rules," he shakes his head, and you register your hands still softly bracing his biceps. You grin up at him, and he seems to realize the intimacy at the same time you do. He releases you in that moment, moving to the balcony and loosing a breath, looking out at the Autumn Court beyond. You move to stand next to him, feeling his body heat even from a few feet away.
"Can you believe my dad would do such a rediculous thing like this?" He asks after a few beats of silence. You chew your lip, sneaking a glance at him. His jaw is tight as he continues to look straight ahead.
"Honestly... yeah. He is... he is somethin'." You say. Lucien turns, facing you once more.
"Has he gotten worse since I left?" He asks. You think for a moment, and his eyes search yours.
"I mean... I don't know. I talk more with your mom. He's still, well, cruel, not with me in particular, but with just everyone, I guess." He swears under his breath.
"I should have never left." He says. You place a hand over his and he glances down at it, then back out at the court, swallowing thickly. "None of this would have ever happened. I would have never met Elain. It never would have gotten worse here. I would have never-"
"Hey hey hey, don't say that," you say. He gazes at you again. You smile kindly at him. "We're all okay here -- the only thing that got worse was how much we all missed you." You trace a vein atop his hand and he breathes in deep, eyes fluttering down, then back up to yours, growing darker. "Well... how much I missed you, anyways."
He smiles softly. "Is that so?" He says quietly, and you nod.
"And... Elain is... so... so blind for not seeing the amazing man she's missing out on..." you lift your gaze to meet his eyes, and he slides his empty hand to your hip, pulling you close. He pulls you so close that you're sharing a breath as he practically whispers the next words into your mouth.
"Honestly... I might be glad she broke the bond. She is nothing compared to what I've been missing out on."
His lips press to yours, and you can only feel a rush of golden fireworks inside as his fingers brush through your hair, moving to cup your jaw and stroke your cheek. His lips move, kissing you sesually as your hands hold onto his shoulders, finally reveling in the moment you'd only dreamed would come true.

summary: billie came to you for yet another tattoo but this time was different to all the others.
warnings: alot of flirting, unedited
notes: hi babies!! this is the veeeery long awaited part 2 of billie & the tattoo artist, lmk if you'd like this to turn into a mini series!<3
Tumblr media
being billies tattoo artist was your biggest flex in life. i mean, the billie eilish came to you to get tattoos, how insane is that? people would kill to even get a glace at billie in real life & you were spending hours on hours with her one on one. fucking crazy.
and yet again, here she comes back into your tattoo parlour for more ink.
"hi again y/n!!" she said with her usual giddiness that made your heart skip a beat.
"hi billieee" you dragged out.
she walked up to you, giving you the biggest hug, with flushed cheeks you returned it. you felt like a little school girl with a crush, but you loved it.
"so what're we doin today bils? you didnt describe much over text besides "hard & soft". which what does that even mean?" you questioned.
she cackled at your state, you knew her new album was being worked on & close to being done. you'd even been kept in the loop about it all, but you were never told the name of it.
"wellll" billie started.
"its apart of the name of my new album. "hit me hard and soft"
your face dropped, it was a kickass name for an album. you'd never expect anything less from billie.
"thats fucking sick!!" you yelled.
her laugh quickly filled the parlour.
"eeee thankyouuuu" she replied.
"alright so, i've got some designs down for you b, let me know what one you like best" you spoke turning around & grabbing your ipad from the tray, passing it to billie for her to look at them.
she swiped through the drawings, complimenting each style. ultimately she chose the swirly cursive design.
"okay you know the drill, lay down" you told her, walking to the printer to get the stencil.
she did as you said, laying down on the tattoo bed adjusting her clothes so you had access to the area she decided on. you made your way over to billie, gently placing the stencil on her body.
"just the stencil, no needle" you spoke during your actions.
she watched you with a content look, a slight desire in her eyes. you looked up from the writing that was about to become permanent on her body, immediately blushing under her gaze.
she giggled at your reaction, knowing the affect she had on you. though she hadn't admitted it yet, she liked you too. but love was scary for her, especially with girls, so she took her time coming to terms with these feelings. that didn't mean she couldn't flirt & tease you though.
you cleared your throat, a smile played on your lips.
"you like the placement bils?" you asked.
she moved, checking over the placement of her soon to be tattoo.
"love it, go ahead" she replied.
with her go ahead, you turned on the machine & got to work. making small talk, slightly attempting to keep her distracted, but it was more for your own enjoyment. you loved her voice more than anything else, it kept you calm during the tattooing & helped you focus for than you realised.
the small talk was more often than not, lighthearted. ofcourse you both had deep talked heaps too but the sweet giggley conversations were your favourite. although this time you wanted to be sneaky, ask about her love life for a change & see if there was any chance of being more than her friend & tattoo artist.
once silence had drifted into the room, you decided now was a good time.
"so anything new in your love life b?" you questioned.
she chuckled at how see through you were to her, she knew you wanted to see if you had a chance. but little did you know, all she wanted was you, and she'd give you a chance within a heartbeat. so she decided to play along.
"dunno y/n, why are you so curious" she teased.
you guessed billie would tease you, that was something else you loved about her; the way she would flirt & tease you without any care, as if you were actually more than her friend.
"gosh shoot me for wanting to know about my friends love life" you chuckled.
she laughed along, answering your question that you so desperately wanted to know.
"well yes, but im still sorting through my feelings"
you swore your heart stopped, thoughts flooding your mind. if this ink wasn't so permanent & didn't cost you your job, you would've fucked up big time. everything starting spinning in that moment.
"who is it? is it me? no it couldn't be me. but why would she flirt with me & have a crush on someone else?" everything along those lines flowed through your mind, practically fighting one another.
"oh yeah? tell me bils" you tried your best to keep yourself composed.
you didn't know if to cry, or be excited that it could be you. but again, you were at work & still had her tattoo to focus on.
"thats for me to know, & for you to find out, eventually" she replied.
eventually? the fuck does she mean eventually? that had to be her confessing right? or are you thinking to much into it?
you smiled at her, & decided that maybe making a move couldn't hurt.
{ mini time skip }
you had swiped over the fresh ink one last time, accomplishment waving over you. billie admired the way you were always so proud of your work & how you took in how well you did.
"here we go bils!! all done, take a look" you spoke.
she got up, walking over to the full body mirror, smiling at the new tattoo added to her collection.
"i fucking love it y/n!!" excitement clear in her voice.
"thats good im glad! now come back here so i can wrap it"
she again did as you said & sat back down, taking a photo of her tattoo.
"okay your good to go" you said, standing up and grabbing the pay machine.
billie followed your actions & stood waiting for you to tell her to total.
"$390 today b"
she complied, tipping her iconic $150.
"paying the pretty girl her deserved extra" she winked.
this is where you'd usually giggle & go about your goodbyes. but not today, today you were finally making a move.
you giggled & walked up to her, kissing her cheek and catching her completely off guard. this time she was the one blushing.
you turned around with a smirk obvious on your lips, placing the pay machine down in its usual spot.
"well then, i'll catch ya y/n" she spoke, walking past you & placing a slap to your ass, shocking you.
she then blew you an innocent kiss & a wink while walking out the door. she always had to one up anyone & everyone with little things.
her next appointment was gonna be fun.

Y/N’s POV
I stared at my reflection in the hotel mirror, my fingers absently toying with the delicate pendant around my neck. The bustling city of Monaco lay just outside my window, but my thoughts were elsewhere, tangled up in a mix of anticipation and trepidation. Tonight was the gala, and Max Verstappen was my date. Well, technically, we were going as friends. Just friends. But lately, that simple label had started to feel like an ill-fitting coat, one that pinched and tugged at the seams in all the wrong places.
Max and I had met a few years ago at a Formula 1 event, our paths crossing in the crowded paddock. We had clicked instantly, bonding over a shared love for adrenaline and speed. Our friendship had grown stronger with each passing race, his infectious laughter and genuine kindness making it impossible not to be drawn to him. But somewhere along the way, things had begun to shift. The way he looked at me had changed, his gaze lingering just a moment too long, his eyes softening in a way that made my heart race faster than any car on the circuit.
"But 'just friends' don't look at each other like that," I muttered to myself, recalling the words my best friend had said just days ago. She had seen it too, the unspoken tension, the electricity that crackled in the air whenever Max and I were together. And now, standing here in my elegant evening gown, I couldn't shake the feeling that tonight would be different. That tonight, something might finally give.
The knock on my door jolted me from my reverie. Taking a deep breath, I crossed the room and opened it, my breath catching in my throat at the sight of Max. He stood there in a sharp tuxedo, his usually tousled hair neatly styled, but it was his eyes that held me captive. Those piercing blue eyes that always seemed to see right through me.
"Y/N, you look stunning," he said, his voice soft but filled with a sincerity that made my cheeks flush.
"You don't look so bad yourself," I managed to reply, a smile tugging at my lips as I took in his handsome form. He extended his arm, and I slipped mine through it, feeling the warmth of his skin through the fabric of his jacket.
The gala was a whirlwind of lights, music, and laughter. We moved through the crowd, exchanging pleasantries and smiles, but my mind was only half-focused on the conversations around us. The other half was acutely aware of Max's presence by my side, the way his hand would brush against mine, sending shivers down my spine.
As the night wore on, we found ourselves on a balcony overlooking the glittering cityscape. The cool night air was a welcome relief, and I leaned against the railing, taking a moment to collect my thoughts. Max joined me, standing close enough that our shoulders touched.
"Are you having a good time?" he asked, his voice gentle, almost hesitant.
"Yeah, it's been great," I replied, glancing up at him. "It's always fun when you're around."
He smiled at that, but there was a seriousness in his eyes that made my heart skip a beat. "Y/N, there's something I need to tell you."
I swallowed hard, my pulse quickening. "What is it, Max?"
He took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving mine. "I've been trying to find the right moment to say this, and I don't want to ruin our friendship, but... I can't keep pretending that what I feel for you is just friendly. I care about you, a lot more than I probably should. And I think you feel it too."
The world seemed to stop spinning for a moment, his words hanging in the air between us. "Max, I... I don't know what to say."
He stepped closer, his hand reaching up to gently cup my cheek. "Just say what's in your heart, Y/N."
I closed my eyes, leaning into his touch. "I've been trying to ignore it, to convince myself that we're just friends. But you're right. Friends don't look at each other the way we do."
When I opened my eyes, the vulnerability in his expression mirrored my own. "So, what do we do now?" he asked, his thumb brushing softly against my skin.
I took a deep breath, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders as I finally allowed myself to acknowledge the truth. "We take a chance, Max. We see where this goes."
His smile was radiant, and as he leaned in, his lips brushing softly against mine, I knew that whatever happened next, it would be worth it. Because sometimes, the best things in life come from taking risks, from stepping into the unknown with someone who means everything to you.
The kiss was gentle at first, almost tentative, as if we were both afraid to break the spell. But as the moments passed, it deepened, a surge of emotions pouring into that single connection. His hands moved to cradle my face, and I could feel the warmth of his touch seeping into my skin, grounding me in the reality of what was happening.
When we finally pulled away, our foreheads resting against each other, I could see the joy and relief in his eyes. "I've wanted to do that for so long," he whispered, his breath mingling with mine in the cool night air.
"Me too," I admitted, a smile breaking across my face. "It feels like a dream."
"Well, if it is, I hope we never wake up," he replied, his voice filled with a mixture of humor and sincerity that made my heart swell.
The sounds of the gala seemed distant now, a mere backdrop to the moment we were sharing. We stood there, wrapped in each other's arms, the city of Monaco stretching out beneath us in a dazzling array of lights. It felt as if the whole world had shrunk to just the two of us, a perfect bubble of happiness and possibility.
Max's fingers intertwined with mine, and he gave my hand a gentle squeeze. "Shall we head back inside? I think we have some people to surprise."
I laughed, imagining the looks on our friends' faces when they saw us together. "Yes, let's."
As we made our way back into the ballroom, I felt a newfound sense of confidence and excitement. The future felt bright and uncertain in the best possible way. We rejoined the party, and it wasn't long before our friends noticed the change between us. Their knowing smiles and teasing comments only made the evening more special.
Throughout the night, Max stayed close by my side, his presence a comforting and exhilarating reminder of what we had discovered. We danced, laughed, and shared stolen glances that spoke volumes, each one reaffirming the bond that had grown between us.
By the time the gala began to wind down, I felt as if I were walking on air. As we stepped outside to catch a breath of fresh air, Max pulled me into his arms once more, holding me close. "This is just the beginning, Y/N," he murmured, his lips brushing against my temple. "I can't wait to see where this journey takes us."
"Me neither," I replied, gazing up at him with a sense of wonder. "Whatever happens, we'll face it together."
With a final, tender kiss, we made our way back to the hotel, the night air filled with the promise of new beginnings. And as we walked hand in hand through the quiet streets of Monaco, I knew that we had crossed a threshold. We were no longer just friends, but partners in every sense of the word, ready to embrace whatever challenges and joys lay ahead.
The future was unknown, but with Max by my side, I felt ready to face anything. Our story had taken a new turn, one filled with love, hope, and endless possibilities. And as we entered the hotel, our laughter echoing in the halls, I knew that this was just the start of a beautiful, shared adventure.

Vil Schoenheit x OC Word Count: 2.2k
Summary: Never in a hundred years would anyone have expected the Vil Schoenheit to develop seperation anxiety.
[OC Archive]
Tumblr media
Vil wasn’t picking up his phone. Which was saying something, because normally the blonde was hemming and hawing over getting Saya to answer in any reasonable fashion. It wasn’t her fault she was terrible with texts, let alone the strange, encrypted, messaging software he’d insisted they use. But Vil was normally so focused—so intent. She’d never had to wait more than a few minutes before for him to respond to even her silliest of questions.
She listened through the tinny speakers as the phone rang, and rang, and rang.
It went to voicemail again with a near petulant chirp and Saya huffed irritably through her nose.
Vil was away filming. He hadn’t wanted to be. He’d told her time and time again that he’d specifically set aside his acting career to focus on his education, and that he had no intentions of stepping into any new roles when his duties to Pomefiore and Night Raven already ate up so much of his precious free time. But this was some reshoot or other for a project that had long since shifted into post-production. And he was contractually obligated to pack his bags and head out on the earliest flight to the Shaftlands.
“Call me every night,” he’d said, as he was fretfully checking and rechecking his suitcase. Shifting through outfits like a blackjack dealer spitting cards around a table. “And every morning.”
“And every afternoon?” she’d drawled, rolling over to bury back into his too-expensive plum duvet. The sun wasn’t even up yet. The birds hadn’t even started to sing yet. It was too early to be awake at all, let alone trying to juggle kindness and reciprocal doting.
“I’m serious,” he’d snapped. “You already get into enough trouble while I’m here to keep a watch over you. And now I’m going to be on another continent.”
And he’d seemed… frazzled, almost. There were smears of purple beneath his eyes that didn’t look intentional or artful, and there was a tightness to his sculpted brows that spoke of a burgeoning headache.
“You said It’s only for two weeks,” Saya mumbled, sitting back up to give him and his fretting her proper attention. “It’ll be fine. It can be, like, a vacation,” she tried. “Away from all my nonsense. I’m sure by the end of it you’ll be dreading coming back.”
Her cheek stretched with sharp, stinging pain and she whined into Vil’s palm as he pinched the skin there.
“Don’t say that,” he demanded, bitter and… something she couldn’t quite place. Saya blinked back, owlish and surprised. Vil never really liked when she joked about him not caring, or about her being a burden, and blablabla. It was all in good fun, well, mostly, but he always put a hard stop to it nonetheless. So she hadn’t expected him to sit back and laugh at her little joke, but he’d never really looked quite so…
“…I’ll miss you,” she said around his fingers, instead of pushing further. Hoping that might be less of a conversational landmine. But instead of helping, that something darkening his eyes just got worse.
“Every morning and every night,” he said again after a moment, ducking forward to press a lingering kiss to her forehead. “So keep your phone charged.”
Another chirp. Another ‘you have reached the voicemail of—’
Saya frowned and set her phone aside.
He had been a bit… odd, maybe. The last few times they’d spoken. Or, well, to be fair, he hadn’t really been himself the entire time he’d been away. Like there was an undercurrent of tension to him winding tighter and tighter, just waiting to snap. Vil had always had a tendency to work himself too hard, but this… didn’t really seem like that. There was almost a mania to it. Not quite hysterical, but something that reminded her a bit too much of trickling tar and the foul, creeping sludge of blot for comfort.
Her phone vibrated and Saya pounced for it before the screen even had a chance to light up.
“Oh thank god, you picked up. Do you know where he is?”
Saya blinked, startled, and then hazarded a quick glance at the caller ID. When his PR Team's icon blinked back at her, she swallowed a pissy curse.
“Amelia,” she frowned, fighting the urge to twist her fingers. “What do you mean? Know where who is?”
“You know who!” the woman snapped, sounding halfway to a meltdown. “Vil stormed off set hours ago and no one’s been able to find him.”
Saya’s stomach dropped and she felt herself moving towards the door before she’d even realized she’d stood.
“What do you mean?” she frowned, scraggling blindly along the coat hangers for a jacket. “What do you mean ‘ran off?’” He wouldn’t. Vil would never. He was a consummate professional—
“He hasn’t been… feeling well,” Amelia said into the speaker, sounding a bit choked. “And some of the crew was struggling with his… his mood.”
“Just call him a bitch and be done with it,” Saya snipped, yanking her arms through the sleeves and shoving her keys into her pocket. “What does that have to do with anything?”
“He can always be a bit difficult to work with—demanding, heavy-handed. We all know that. But never cruel. But this time it was like… He was just... ” the woman trailed off, still stiff. Still clearly panicked. “So things weren’t going well. I—We—He just—"
“Look,” Saya interrupted, stumbling out the door and hearing the creaking old hinges slam behind her. It was pouring. A torrential downpour that had turned the whole of the paths outside Ramshackle into a hazardous, muddy obstacle course. “You can share your poor, boohoo backstories later. Do you have any idea where he could have—"
She crashed headfirst into another rushing figure with a whoosh that knocked the air right out of her chest. Saya leaned forward with a gasping wheeze, trying to get her feet back under her and the air back into her lungs, and gaped in shock at the very familiar chest that she’d just barreled into at Mach speed. A chest that was supposed to be a hundred miles away on a movie set and not—not—
The voice in her phone was faint, droning buzz like the flighty chitter of mosquitos. She shoved it into her pocket until the panicked white noise was muffled through a layer of fabric.
There were too many questions. Too many hard questions.
So Saya just stiffened her lip and looped an arm through Vil’s.
“Come on,” she sighed, feeling a terrible, nervous chill trickling through her veins like ice water. “Your makeup is dripping everywhere. Let’s get you inside.”
Vil hated Ramshackle—made it a point to say so every time he laid eyes upon the fetid, lopsided, wreck of a building. But this time he just let himself be herded through the main entrance without a word, and that fretful, freezing something in her limbs got worse. Saya corralled him carefully upstairs to her small room. Ro was supposed to be away at Diasomnia for the evening, but the little bit of extra privacy wouldn’t do any harm.
Saya’s heart was tripping unpleasantly in her chest and she decided she had a plan.
First, she’d sit him down on her bed all comfy like. She’d wipe away his smeared mascara and dot at the red, angry lines on his cheeks. Then, she’d bundle him up in her comforter and maybe make some cocoa. And then—then… Well, she didn’t know what then. But it was a start.
Vil, naturally, was never one to make anyone’s lives easier ever. Even hers. So when she moved to start pushing him towards her mattress, he lurched around—quick as a snake—and dragged her into his arms so tight that her sides were aching with it. Saya squeaked and fought the urge to immediately start wriggling like a fish in a net. Because something wasn’t… This really wasn’t…
“Vil…?” she tried, and he pressed forward until his nose was digging into her throat so hard there was sure to be a fresh set of red marks there tomorrow. She tried to get her arms up, to hug him back, but it was too tight. And he wasn’t moving. So Saya sighed and settled on a soft, “I missed you.”
Vil locked up like a broken doll and she froze, feeling like she’d audibly misstepped somehow.
“Uhm…” she mumbled, unsure how to backtrack. “Are you alright? Amelia called. She said everyone was worried that—”
“They’re not worried,” he sneered, so sharp and so venomous that it genuinely startled her. “I did what I had to do and I left. I doubt they could care less.”
Saya frowned, hesitant. “Something’s bothering you.”
A scoff. “Everything bothers me.”
“Yeah, well, I can’t fix everything,” she pressed back. “Not all at once, anyways. Just—one thing at a time maybe? So I can help with that first?”
“…I always knew,” Vil said against her shoulder after a moment, “that they were miserable, lying vermin. That’s all any of this really is. What can I do for them, how can they use me best. And it never bothered me before. Or maybe it did, but I just never knew any better.”
“What are you talking about?” Saya frowned, doing her best to shuffle up against him in as close of an approximation to a reassuring pat as she could manage with her arms pinned to her side.
“It’s hard,” Vil continued, sounding bitter. “To learn that you can be loved as a person, and then having to go back to being a commodity. To being nothing but your use. So don’t ever,” he seethed, digging his painted nails into her hips, “say that leaving you is a vacation, or a treat, or enjoyable ever again when you’re the only one who ever even lets me be a person to begin with.”
“…okay,” Saya choked. Because that sounded like a lot. A lot, a lot. But—but this was Vil. Who she really did love so, so much. Cracks and all.
So she did what she did best and walled off the strange something that had started to fester in her gut. Locked it away and decided promptly that it had never existed at all.
“But maybe next time at least tell someone where you’re going,” she protested weakly, forcing a bit of levity into her tone. “Because your PA was calling me in a panic. I was literally about to go down to the road and hitchhike to the Shaftlands.”
“Do not ever get into a car with a stranger who tries to pick you up on the curbside,” he snipped at her, grip loosening just enough that he could reach up to tug, reprimanding, at a lock of her hair instead. “And this is why I was so nervous about leaving you alone. You’re just as danger prone as your brother.”
“Oh, please. I am not.”
“Being willing to turn and bite the thing chasing you like a feral racoon doesn’t mean you aren’t being chased,” Vil snorted, a bit of his more familiar, playful snark curling over the words to replace that horrible, cloying something from before. He ran his fingers through her hair and scratched lightly at her scalp. “I should track your phone at this rate.”
Saya scoffed. “I’m surprised you don’t already.”
Vil hummed, sounding pensive. And perhaps a touch of good humor. Like he’d caught himself thinking on an inside joke.
“Nevertheless,” he sighed, slowly unwinding himself from around her like a hulking, venomous snake unspooling its coils. “I’m sorry for worrying you. I just missed you terribly. And wanted to come home as soon as possible.”
Oof. One hit KO.
Saya huffed, cheeks going pink all the way up to her ears.
“Yeah, well, I missed you more and you didn’t see me forgetting your stupid ‘keep your phone charged at all times’ rule, did I?”
Vil chuckled and leaned forward to press a soft, apologetic kiss along the underside of her jaw.
“I have a lot to repent for, it would seem,” he hummed.
“Damn straight.”
A pause, as she looked over him with a touch of that same creeping, prickling worry.
“But… only after you’re feeling a bit better,” she amended, eyes darting off to the corner of the room with an embarrassed little huff. “It’s not fair,” she said after a moment. “That you feel like—” like there was no one in the world who wanted him for him. That he was good for nothing but his face, or his smile, or pretty, little lies. “—like they don’t care about you.”
“You care,” Vil sighed, burrowing back into her collarbone. “That’s all that really matters, hmm?”
“It shouldn’t be,” Saya harumphed. “Next time this happens I’ll follow you around myself and like, I don’t know, spray them with a water bottle full of cat piss. Or something.”
Vil laughed, low and deep.
“Of course. What a simple solution,” he hummed against her throat. “To just never let you leave my side to begin with.”
And maybe the steady, unquestionable undercurrent to that proclamation should have been a bit concerning. Like the sweetness of chocolate undermined by something darker and stickier that would leave one’s mouth dry and a peculiar sense of wrongness coating their tongue. But honestly, that sounded all well and good to her. Never leave his side to begin with. Saya sighed and let Vil pull her back towards her mattress. Because honestly, if it was him being the clingy one, then at least she’d never have to admit to it on her own.

Can you write about Taesan being jealous ( but he's not your bf ) pls understand what I mean TT
i gotcha! or at least i think i did :') (and i really hope i did)
warnings; toxic behaviour, usage of taesan's real name (han dongmin), kissing. mentions of leehan.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
tbh taesan doesn't seems like the jealous type, i mean, c'mon WHY in the world would HE be jealous? he's so handsome and secure about himself that i can't see him being actually jealous over stupid things. not even serious stuff, he would just get kinda mad/ offended and confront you directly, asking you what's going on before jumping into any conclusions.
so you just know something's not right when he directly asks "why were you with leehan? you know how late it was? you shouldn't be out with boys that late at night" you first did not follow what he meant because it didn't make any sense, why was taesan out of all people questioning who you hanged out with or at what time you did it.
"we met up to watch a movie at his place but how did you even knew about that?" taesan clicked his tongue while he looked away from your questioning gaze, running his fingers through his hair before facing you again, "why shouldn't i know? is there anything you don't want me to know?" well what the fuck was he thinking.
you did not have anything against leehan but did taesan really thought you liked him? he was definitely not your type, and you thought your closest friend in college taesan would know that.
"why are you acting like this? did i do something to you?" but this was not flowing as a conversation when all you guys did was make question after question.
"do you like him? you should know he likes danielle"
"and i don't give a single fuck, dongmin, i'm pretty sure he likes her by the way he wouldn't stop babbling about it last night"
taesan was getting icky with the way you mentioned leehan: 'last night', 'at his place', 'why are you acting like this?' did you really have to ask? his eyebrows were so frowned and you could tell that he was thinking so hard about his next words, the way he opened his mouth and closed it again giving you the feeling of expectation he shattered when he finally spoke "i don't think you should be meeting him at his place, not that late, and specially not just the two of you. and before you excuse yourself by saying he likes danielle, that does not mean anything to a boy" he looked down on you a few times before he laughed a bit, looking around and thinking about how comical you may think this situation was.
because it was comically stupid, he was not even your boyfriend, he had a thing for you and even though he was very secure about his appearance, it was not on his plans to loose you if you didn't like him back for any reason. so he just stayed there, putting himself in the friendzone everyone frenetically wants to escape just so he could keep you close.
"aren't you going to say anything?" dongmin clapped back and you finally came back to your senses, this time you were the one laughing, crossing your arms in top of your chest and tilting your head.
"i really don't know what to say. but do you have anything to say to me?" at this point you knew, there has to be something behind his words, you needed to open your eyes and understand that taesan was NOT the type to be this direct, this talkative, this touchy, this friendly, he was not the type to carry your backpack when you were tired or buy you food just because you said it looked good, he was not the type to make random jokes and help you out with homework at his place while he looked at you with so much admiration that you could physically feel his gaze.
and he definitely was not the jealous type of person that would make this type of scenes just because you were their friend and they were worried about you going out too late to a boy's dorm.
"i just don't want you to see him again, can't you do those things with me? is it so hard?" you just denied with your head, running a hand through your hair before closing your eyes and letting a sigh out.
"you know you can just tell me if you wanna hang out with me, but as you never did i-"
"that doesn't mean i want you to hang out with other boys" he quickly stopped your words 'i just don't trust myself around you' were his next words, he couldn't hold himself from wanting to kiss you lately, but he stopped beforehand, just letting out a complain before grabbing his bag from the floor of your dorm and making his way to the door "don't mind me, i'm sorry if i made you feel uncomfortable, i'll just go. goodnight"
but what taesan did not expect was your hand grabbing his black jacket and pulling down to make him stop, he looked at you, his back still facing you, his hand around the doornob and his eyes looking so sad yet expecting that it just made you feel some type of way that led you to say "can you stay the night?" he finally turned around to face you, looking so shocked and confused as he could be "i mean is late and i wouldn't mind some company"
"if that's the case then i think i should keep you company, right?" a smile ran through his lips, his eyes looking so bright and that little blush in his cheeks making him look like the most adorable boy you've ever seen, you looked down to notice you were still holding his jacket and instead of letting it go you just pulled him closer, both of your chests collapsing together and you could feel his breath growing faster and more nervous each second that went by.
and you really didn't know what you were thinking when you leaned forward and brushed your lips together as a form of asking for permission, permission that was granted when taesan quickly joined your lips in a sweet kiss, sweeter than you ever expected, specially with the recent argument you guys had, but it was better than anything you could've imagined.
he was so soft, so good at making your legs weak with a slow and warm kiss, his tongue poking your bottom lip and his right hand going up to your hair to get you closer to him, you stumbling with your own feet at the action but being carefully held by his other hand grabbing your waist after his bag fell to the ground. the kiss went on for a few more seconds, almost a minute, before you two pulled apart, you trying to look him in the eyes but he just looked at the ground because he was so ashamed :(
"dongmin?"
"you know i like you, right?" you just nodded when he looked up "well fuck, what gave me up?" you laughed, it was funny because you just realized during your kiss about his feelings, no one ever kissed you that way, with so much care and softness, he was so lovely that you just knew.
"your kiss was really sweet, you know?" and it was his turn to laugh, just looking back to the ground and then facing you to ask "so, what now?"
"well, you are staying the night, we can talk about it"
"we can't be friends after this, i can't, y/n"
"i never said we'll be friends"
and the night just went on, jealousy forgotten long ago and you two cuddling in the couch while you watched a random movie but it was truly just you two kissing all night :((
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
this is my first taesan ask!! tysm, i hope y'all enjoyed 🫶

virgin nick x virgin reader?!!?
The first.
Tw: NSFW. General nervousness and anxiety.
Note: no penetration.
The laughs die on the screen as Nick turns the volume down, the baking show we were watching being forgotten by us as he turns his body to me.
“Say that again.” Nicks voice is serious, not mean, but it reflects how much he cares about me and what I said. I sigh, looking down to my pajama short and then to his chin, unable to look him in the eyes.
“I said… said that I wanted to have sex with you.” I look down to his chest, my mind racing and my heart drumming against my chest. Nick and I have had very open conversations about sex and things we would like to try some day, some day. Because we have never done it before, Nick always reassures me that I don’t have to be ready just because he is, and I can take as long as I need to, but I have waited long enough and I feel ready.
“I- shit, well, that caught me off guard.” He grabs my hands and squeezes them gently. “A-are you sure? I mean, do you mean in general or like you want to do it? And if you want to do it, would that be now, soon or in an indeterminate time? And-” I smile as he rambles, his cheeks all red and his eyes trying to meet mine, I shush him.
“I mean as in now… like, I have been thinking about it lately, and I feel ready.” I look up, his blue eyes piercing into mine. He nods slowly and I smile warmly at him.
“Yeah, okay. We can do it.” He sighs and let’s go of my hands, his body moving closer to mine, our legs touching. The noises of the cars passing by blend with out heavy and nervous breaths. “Can I kiss you?” he whispers so low, like a secret only him and I share, I nod and his right-hand cups my cheek, the warmth of it warming up my face. I close my eyes when his lips touch mine.
My hands travel to his chest and hair, pulling and playing with his hair and shirt. The kiss that was once innocent and caring turned into a heated and passionate one, nothing that we haven’t done before, yet.
His strong hands drag me to his lap, his back hitting the headboard of the bed, my hands going to his shoulders and down to his chest. One of his hands travels up down my shirt and massages my waist.
“Can I take it off?” Nick mutters between kisses and pants.
“Yes, do it.” I pull away from him and I put my arms up so he could take his shirt off easily. Nick throws it on the floor. I gently tug at the shirt he was wearing. “Can I?” I whisper closer to his face. He nods.
“Yes, yes.” I give him a peck on the lips and then slide up his sleeping shirt. His chest going up and down, his collarbones and the way his shoulders meet his neck made me feel wild, I wanted him. I stare at his body, mouth lightly opened when shamelessly eying him. “Stop staring, didn’t your parents teach you manners?” I bite down on my lip and look at him in the eyes, my face burning with desire.
“Shut up. Stop, being hot.”
“I’m not doing anything.” He smiles, his hands travelling to my waist pulling me in, our chest touching, his forehead against mine. “Or do you want me to stop?”
I quickly shake my head. “No, can we keep going?”
“Yes, we can. You are just too sweet, aren’t you?” he kisses me again, biting into my lips, he pushes his tongue into my mouth, and unconsciously my hips start to grind against his, the sudden friction and the hardness of his length pressed against mine making me feel warm and needy. His grip on my hips tightens. “Shit. That’s it, press down on it.” He moans, his face now buried into my neck as he moves and pushes down my hips, I can feel him biting and sucking on my neck and shoulder, his teeth sinking into my skin and leaving red marks all over it.
A warm sensation engulfs all of my body, I feel my stomach tightening, Nicks hands on my hips and ass help me move all over his lap. My eyes are shut and my mouth hangs open as I throw my head back, I grip unto Nick shoulders and try to suppress my moans. I can feel Nick grabbing my head and lower back, with a swift and gentle move he makes lay on the bed, my eyes open and I let out a gasp, Nick is towering over me, his pants lowered to his knees, I feel my mouth salivating looking at the damp patch on his boxers, I quickly tug down my shorts.
“Need help?” he asks, his face all red and his hair messed up, a cheesy smile on his face. I nod and he helps me take off the shorts. “Eh, I think I can’t put it in…’’
‘’Why not?” I ask, a bit worried.
“Well, this was a bit sudden, and we have never… you know, so… shit, neither of us has prepped for this.”
“Prepped wha-… ohhhh.” Nick rolls his eyes and punches me playfully. “Well, I don’t mind, sex doesn’t mean something has to go inside the other person.”
“God, please stop talking.” He chuckles.
“Whatever you want.” Nick leans over me and kisses my mouth again, a shiver creeps up my spine. He leaves damp kisses on my cheeks, nose and neck. His hips meet min again, the hardness of his dick pressing against my most sensitive area. He starts rolling and moving his hips, a wave of pleasure and neediness washes over me. I suppress a moan biting on my lip.
“Don’t do that.” Nick pouts close to my face. “Wanna hear you, sounds pretty.” I thought he couldn’t get any redder, guess I though wrong. His lips crash into mine again, his skilled tongue moving and pressing against mine, the wetness on my boxers growing, and the tightening sensation polling on my lower stomach.
“Shit, Nick. I think-” I look down where our hips meet, Nick lowers his boxers, taking his big cock out, with a quick move he opens the slit on my boxer and shoves his length in there. I feel my back arch, the sudden warmness and direct contact making my mind go dizzy. I shut my eyes as Nick rams his hips into mine, the sounds our body make when they are this close are nasty.
Nick goes faster and messier. His eyes are shut and he is letting out low groans and high moans, he looks down at out hips, his hands go to my waist and grips tightly on them.
“Fuck, I can’t. Feels too good.” he whispers. His hips thrust two, three times more and he is gone, a thick and warm liquid dripping over me, but he doesn’t stop moving his hips, even when his eyes are watery and he is sensitive. Nick bites down on my shoulder, the arch in my back grows, I squeeze my eyes as I let out a big moan, Nick thrusts stop when he feels my juices combine with his. I open my eyes and take deep breathes, my heart is racing and I feel a bit dizzy. “Shit…” Nick presses his forehead against mine. “We made a mess.” I laugh.
“A bit… how do you feel?” I ask timidly.
“Amazing.” He reassures me with a warm smile. “Thanks, love. It means a lot to me that you trust me this much.”
“I feel the same way. I love you.”
“I love you too.” he kisses my cheek. “Let’s go take a shower.”

Career Fair
Summary: James holds a parents' career fair, to which Liam's mom is invited.
Notes: Marauders modern elementary school AU, kindergarten teacher!James Potter x nurse!reader, mom!reader x son!OC (Liam), inspired by this post by @ravishinglavishingluvr. Hah, remember last time where I said I was updating semi-regularly? Ok well I actually mean it now, I promise lmao. Not edited but I'll do that tomorrow. Also kinda short, sorry
A/N (25/5/2024): edited, yay!!! I'll do my best to start working on the next one <3
Tumblr media
James ended up pushing the career fair back a couple weeks because there was a conflict in the schedule
(not because you emailed him back saying you wouldn’t be able to come the day he had originally planned it)
(and definitely not because he asked you to send him your shift schedule so he could make sure you could come, and you were working overtime for two weeks straight)
(James was pretty sure your work schedule violated some labor laws or something, but he was in no place to question you)
Liam is soooo excited for the couple days leading up to the career fair
Because his mom is cool af and he can’t wait to show everybody just how badass you are
(You had Liam pretty young, so you’re totally the parent who all the kids think is the coolest person alive and who all the kids’ older siblings have crushes on and who all the kids’ parents judge because of your age and assume you’re irresponsible, but we don’t have to talk about that)
James is also excited because he hasn’t had a real conversation with you in a couple weeks and he really just wants to talk to you
Poor Sirius and Remus have had to deal with him swooning and fawning and over you and also helping him frantically prepare for this career fair because “guys it HAS to be perfect”
But at long last, the day finally arrives
James scheduled the career fair in the afternoon so he could threaten children with canceling the event if they misbehave, so both he and his kids are bouncing off the walls in excitement all morning
He eats lunch in the library with Remus and Sirius, and they both spend the entire time hyping him up
(It’s mostly Sirius tho)
“You’ve got this, Prongs—be smooth—be nice—you’re a nice bloke, that’s not gonna be a problem for you—”
And eventually, it’s time
The parents that are participating in the fair arrive ten minutes before James has to get the kids from the cafeteria so he can explain to them what’s going to happen (because god knows the majority didn’t read the goddamn email he sent)
You’re a little late (profusely apologizing again, and again, James insists it’s nothing to worry about) but you read the email the night before (and take another piece of James’ heart hostage while you’re at it) so it’s no worries
James’ summary instructions take a shorter amount of time than expected, so the ten or so parents all get to talking
And ofc James takes this opportunity to talk to you
You’d emailed back and forth about the fair but you hadn’t really talked in person since that night in the grocery store, and James was starting to feel like he’d die if he went another day without talking to you
So he’s plotting his route to you across the classroom when he notices you’ve secluded yourself a few steps away from the majority of the parents’ conversation
James is also horrified to discover you look slightly uncomfortable too
Like you’re somewhere you don’t belong
And of course James can’t have that
So he sidles up next to you and asks how your day is going, if your boss gave you a hard time getting off work early, how the chocolate chip cookie dough from a month and a half ago was—anything he can think of, really
By the time James has to go get the kids from the cafeteria, you’re smiling and laughing, and James desperately wants to keep you like that all the time
He shakes himself out of his daydreamy state on the way to the cafeteria because this is your JOB, James, you can’t be distracted by your favorite student’s mom. His sweet, kind, whip-smart, dazzling … mom …
James knows he’s screwed, he just doesn’t really know what to do about it
CERTAINLY not act on it, because that would be a complete conflict of interest and totally unprofessional of him
But it’s just a crush
It’s fine
Right?
ANYWAY
Liam’s on the lookout for you as soon as he steps through the door, and he beams the sweetest little chubby-cheeked smile when he finds you and points you out to his friends
You wink playfully at him, and he and his friends giggle excitedly as they sit in their seats
If James is being completely honest with himself, the career fair was a little disappointing
The majority of the parents’ presentations were kinda lame
And they didn’t make their jobs understandable or appealing for the kids
Lyra’s mom (she’s regional manager of a popular grocery store chain) complained to the class about her boss pretty much the whole time
Diego’s uncle, a professor at the local university, just spewed a bunch of nonsense technical jargon about physics or something that not even the parents could understand
And Alfie’s dad (he owns the local insurance company and is just obscenely wealthy, which explains quite a bit of his son's attitude) straight up said he hated his job, so there’s that
But then there was your presentation
James is sure he’s in love by now because you made being a nurse sound so amazing
You talked about how you’re in charge of taking care of people when they’re sick or hurt, how it’s nice to be able to help people, how even when your job gets hard, you feel like you’ve made a positive impact at the end of the day
Once the parents left, James asked the kids who’s presentation they liked the most
Every kid in that room said yours was the best
And a solid 75% said they wanted to be a nurse lmao and he was just so proud
Proud of his kids and also you because your presentation was awesome
As James is taking the kids out to the buses, Liam thanks him for inviting you to the career fair
Ofc James says it was no problem and that you’re really cool, so it was a pleasure to have you there
And Liam kinda gives James this … look … and is like “… yeah, my mom is cool …”
And James gets this horrible feeling that Liam somehow knows
Knows he’s completely smitten for Liam’s mom
Fallen head over heels
Practically in love at this point (though James has a nasty habit of throwing that word around willy-nilly)
(Liam kinda freaks James out a bit sometimes lmao)

i love angst but i just think we all need something a bit comforting but it's me so it's still angsty.
and also it follows @burbur-49 's hc about dew keeping his gills after the elements change and some conversations we had about delta and dew.
so delta's translation didn't go so well, he doesn't regret it, it was more the way he got treated like after, none of his pack really knew how to treat him, omega following him around with a notebook and writing things but never actually offering comfort.
alpha and zephyr who disappeared every time he entered a room.
pebble. well, pebble.
and in all honesty delta didn't really minded the changes his body went through, he liked them actually, even though his gills closing was one of the hardest things he went through, he liked who he is.
but now, seeing dew.. everything was just painful.
everyone were there for him, and it just hurts, because what? was delta just a mistake they could learn from and never actually try to find peace with?
he hated seeing how omega cared for dewdrop while he never even gave a slight smile to delta through it all.
he hated seeing alpha sitting peacefully next to dewdrop, smiling softly at the new fire ghoul, was delta not enough for those soft moments?
and he hated how dewdrop still have his gills. it doesn't matter, not really, but it made delta think that maybe he was just an experience, just the rat lab, to make sure that the next change will be less painful, that it would be better, that it would be everything that he isn't.
what delta didn't expected though, was for dewdrop to look for him, to seek him out.
he didn't like it either, everywhere he was dewdrop was too, and he tried so hard to not let his emotions make dewdrop feel the same way the pack made delta feel.
but he can't even look at the reflection of the moon on the lake alone now, he couldn't relax.
delta just groaned when dewdrop sat next to him, too close for his likeness but he knew how much it would hurt so he stayed in his place, he didn't tried to start a conversation, dewdrop didn't speak.
and just when delta thought that maybe he made the fire ghoul bored enough, dew sighed softly, the quint feeling his eyes on him. and he was just about to yell when the new fire ghoul opned hus mouth.
"you know, you're really pretty."
