Golden Era w/ Prompt 14

Now in their Fifth Year at Hogwarts, Mattheo and the Reader are in a happy relationship. Of course, with Professor Umbridge as the new Headmistress, they can't show it. They resort to longing glances in the halls and passing notes in their classes. They can get away with it in most other classes, but Umbridge still teaches Defense Against the Dark Arts...

"Hold my hand. You're going to be fine"

Mattheo and Y/N had more or less mastered the art of discretion. They had to if there was any hope for their relationship with Dolores Umbridge around. She'd gone on a power trip, her Educational Decrees posted all around Hogwarts.

Number 31 said that boys and girls could not be within 8 inches of each other. Y/N had found that decree to be particularly ridiculous, especially when considering Quidditch practices and games, the teams being comprised of both girls and boys. Speaking of Quidditch, they also weren't allowed to fly unless at an official, authorized practice.

There were ways around the rules. Mattheo had managed to successfully sneak Y/N into their common room in the dungeons on several occasions, and nobody in Slytherin or Gryffindor dared to report them. Especially not since Draco was a member of the Inquisitorial Squad, and one of their best friends. He'd threatened members of their own house with telling Umbridge about their rulebreaking if they said anything about Mattheo and Y/N (on several occasions).

Sneaking into an out of the common room was risky with Filch and Mrs. Norris prowling the halls, so those visits were few and far between. Since many of the other professors disagreed with Professor Umbridge's crazy decrees, they let a lot slide in their classes. This included note passing, which was Mattheo's favorite form of discreet flirting.

"The whole school should be bowing before your beauty", "Your smile tears me apart in all the best ways", and "Each wait between visits pulls apart at my soul, and your kiss is the only thing that can put it back together" were some of the notes Y/N would open and furiously blush about, even hours after receiving them. Professor McGonagall, who disliked Umbridge more than anyone else, was the most lenient with note passing.

Mattheo got his high from breaking the rules in Umbridge's class. He'd turn from his seat in front of her and give her a peck on the lips when Umbridge had her back turned, earning claps on the back from Blaize every time he got away with it. He'd pass back the sweetest notes, and usually Y/N could read it quickly enough and then hide it under her papers and continue to pretend taking notes while actually writing her response.

Usually.

"I'd love you from light-years away, 8 inches is nothing."

Her wide grin quickly turned to a mask of neutrality as Umbridge called her name. "Miss L/N, while I'd be thrilled if you were to prove me wrong, I'm sure you don't find the Theory of Magic so riveting as to grin like a baboon receiving a banana. Show me what you have."

Y/N picked up the note, knowing well what was about to happen, and held the note out to Umbridge. The moment the borish woman had touched the paper, however, it folded itself into a bird, flitted just above reach, and burst into flames. The ashes fell back onto the table like snow, a red rose resting on top of what once was a love note.

"I'm going to ask you once. Who handed you that note?" Umbridge smiled but it looked more like a grimace. She leaned in and said quietly, "Tell me who it was and your punishment won't be as severe." Y/N locked eyes with Mattheo just briefly enough that Umbridge didn't notice, looked back at her and simply shook her head. Umbridge stood up and brushed some non-existent dust from her dress. "Very well then. Detention! My office at 5 o'clock," she leaned in again to finish her sentence with a wicked grin, "sharp."

"I'm so sorry, love. I didn't think she'd have seen it." Mattheo was groveling. He felt absolutely horrible, and Y/N he did, but it was her own fault for not putting the note down sooner. She'd reminded him of that over and over again, but still, he'd apologized relentlessly. She'd just sighed and wolfed down some ham and a roll before heading to Umbridge's office to serve her time.

Umbridge opened the door just as she was about to knock. "Ah, punctuality. We may just be out of here before midnight. Come in. Sit."

Y/N glanced around the room. The walls were bright pink and there were ceramic plates with cats on them, prowling about, not unlike the moving portraits throughout the halls of Hogwarts. Everything in the room was very... pink. Y/N supposed to woman who lived there was, too. She noticed some parchment and a quill at a small desk in the center of the room. She also noticed that there was no ink pot. She took her seat, and Umbridge sat at the bigger desk in the corner of the room.

"You'll write 'I will not be insubordinate' until I tell you that you may stop." Y/N was confused. "Professor, I don't have any ink." The woman chuckled and it sent a chill down her spine. "You won't need any. Begin."

Y/N picked up the quill and started to write on the paper, instantly met with searing pain. She looked at her hand and gasped. There were deep cuts in her own messy scrawl, reading exactly what she'd written on the paper. They healed over before her eyes, and she glanced at the paper.

"Is this-"

"Your blood? That it is. Neat little thing, isn't it?" Umbridge just smiled and then turned back to her paperwork.

Y/N knew things would only get worse for her if she didn't do as she was told, so she picked up the quill and continued to write, grimacing with pain each time the skin on her hand healed over.

After a few hours, the pen couldn't do much to heal her hand. She was smearing her own blood on her hand before continuing to write. She was nearly numb to the pain now, tears in her eyes as Umbridge asked her a question.

"Do you have something to say?"

Y/N was unblinking as a tear slipped down her cheek. "I will not be insubordinate."

"Good girl. I'll write you a note in case one of our wonderful prefects stops you so that you don't end up right back here," she giggles and Y/N shakes violently. "Go directly to your dormitory, do not make any unauthorized stops along the way, unless you intend to use the restroom. Have a good night, and I'll see you in class tomorrow, Miss L/N."

Y/N couldn't find it in herself to go to the restroom, though. She walked straight up to Gryffindor Tower, Godric's painting swinging open for her, with almost an apologetic look. It was like the founder's portrait was saying "I'm sorry for what our institution has turned into." Y/N sees Hermione, Ron and Harry chatting on the couches in the center of the common room. Hermione glances over and immediately stands as she lets out a sob.

"Y/N! You've been in Umbridge's office for hours. She must have been really furious after... your hand!" She scurries over as Y/N looks down and sees the blood still dripping from her hand. "She made you use the quill, didn't she?" Harry doesn't seem shocked at all. She can't seem to make the words come out, so she just nods. "Madam Pomfrey loaned me a roll of tape and some gauze, just in case someone else from our house has to put up with Umbridge's torture. Hermione, do you want to clean her hand while I grab that stuff from my dorm?"

Hermione nods and grabs one of the throw blankets from the couch, whispering Aguamenti and wiping her hand with the wet cloth. Harry is back with the tape and gauze just as Hermione is dabbing her hand to dry it, grimacing each time Y/N hisses in pain. He covers it tightly enough that the bleeding would stop within the next few minutes, but not tight enough to cut off circulation.

"Who passed you the note, Y/N? It was Mattheo, right?" Hermione elbowed Ron. "Ow! What? I was just asking. Quick thinking with the fire." Y/N shook her head. "That wasn't me. We charm the paper we use to pass our notes so that they aren't there in case we're caught. We've never been caught, so I didn't know his would do that. The ink just vanishes from mine when someone other than him and I touches the paper."

Hermione nods, seemingly impressed. "It's very late, I think we should all get some rest. Won't be learning properly if we're all exhausted." She heads up the stairs to her dorm, and Ron and Harry exchange a look before standing, stretching, and heading up the stairs to their own. Y/N just sits on the couch for a while, tracing the words 'I will not be insubordinate' over her bandages.

She doesn't say anything to anyone at breakfast, and is silent in her other classes. Mattheo doesn't try to hand her any notes, but he does cast worried glances and try to make eye contact, but Y/N can't look at him. She can't look at anyone. She's afraid that if she does, Umbridge will accuse her of some other act of insubordination and she'll end up right back in the disgustingly pink office.

She's a model student throughout the rest of the day, hurrying from the room after her last class of the day, Potions. A hand covers her mouth and pulls her through the portrait doorway of the Slytherin common room. She immediately panics, dropping her books and turns to try to leave without them so that she isn't caught somewhere she isn't supposed to be, but a pair of strong arms wrap around her, making hushing noises that are meant to calm her as she sobs.

When she finally calms down enough to stop fighting, Mattheo turns her to face him. He wipes a tear from her cheek, and she looks down. "Oh, baby" he says quietly, heartbreak clear in his tone. He brushes some hair from her face. She starts crying, sobs wracking her body, and he pulls her into his arms. He has one hand at the nape of her neck, the other around her upper back, shushing her once again. When she's calm, he uses his hand to push her chin up. "Look at me."

Y/N forces herself to meet his gaze. Her lip quivers and she sees sorrow and empathy in his deep, brown eyes. He doesn't have to utter a single word for her to know what he's trying to say. He grabs her hand, thankfully the one that isn't wrapped, and walks her to one of the sofas in the middle of the room. He sits down, hand on her hips to hold her close to him, just looking up at her.

Y/N starts to pick at the bandages on her hand, the nervousness from before creeping up into her again. She looks towards the door, expecting Filch to suddenly burst into the room and drag her by her hair all the way up to Umbridge's office. Mattheo pulls her out of her thoughts, gingerly grabbing her wrist to exam the bandages. He slowly and carefully peels them back to look at the damage.

She sees his jaw clench and unclench and then clench again, and there's a dangerous look in his eyes. He takes a deep breath, gently covering the cuts that are sure to scar, and kisses the rebandaged hand. "I'm sorry. I love you so much. I'm sorry."

Y/N is violently shaking again as she sobs, and he grabs her uninjured hand. "Hold my hand. You're going to be fine. I'm here. I'm sorry. I love you so much."

He stands, crossing the room to grab something resting on the mantle. He turns, a red rose in his hand. He hands it to her, and as she takes it, he presses a kiss to her forehead. He holds her close as she twirls the rose between her fingers. "That bitch will pay. Someday, she'll pay." It's a promise that he makes to her, and to himself. "I'm sorry. I love you."

but imo she puts her family and lover into two separate categories, and she doesn’t expect the same thing from each.

and plus, she does like affirmations like “i’m proud of you” not so much “you’re stunning” (as much as she does appreciate it, she would just explode lmfao)

she likes living in the moment with her partner, and it doesn’t matter what they’re talking about, or what they’re doing. it’s a breathe of fresh air - and she needs a lot of it sometimes - especially when she’s stressed.

he doesn’t need words of affirmations becuz he already thinks he’s amazing lol. like you’d go “camilo, ur awesome.” and he’d be like “ik sweetheart, ty for the reminder.”

he also wants to show you how manly he is so he is big on doing acts of service for u, but not so much the other way around. XD

gift giving (or ig receiving in this case) and quality time are something he loves, but physical touch still is at the top.

If we’re still offering aus, how about another age swap? But this time all their gifts stay the same just the grandkids ages are reversed. Antonio would be the oldest at 21, then Mirabel and Camilo are both 19. Luisa is 15, while Dolores and Isabela are both 5. I think Mirabel and Camilo, along with Dolores and Isabela’s birthdays would have to be swapped for this to work out though?

Do you think Antonio be Alma’s favorite in this au due to being the oldest and a charmer of the town? Or would she still prefer Isabela since she’s kinda looks like a young abuela?

Mirabel would still not have a gift, and I’d think that put more strain on her relationship with her abuela since she’s now the second oldest. And the rest of the grandkids after her got a gift. I’d still see her as being the town’s seamstress, or an apprentice to one at the least, though.

Also while we still could do Antonio getting engaged to a girl, I think I’d be funnier if Mariano was reverse aged too. And Abuela invites him over for a play date with Isabela, who isn’t interested in the slightest because she wants to practice more with her gift but will do it since it’ll make Abuela happy. And Dolores who still has a little crush on Mariano would want to be the one Abuela chose to have the play date for.

Antonio and Camilo definitely receive a lot of favouritism because they are boys, but also have the best relationship with the town and gifted. They are both charmers in their own right and have many people swooning after them. Neither really places above the other - they both have their own praiseworthy notes. Antonio being the eldest and Camilo being the one to “bring back the miracle” as it were. They both remind Alma of Pedro.

Isabela is the favourite of the girls, but that’s mainly because she’s the youngest. She’s too young for her striking resemblance to Alma to be overly noticeable yet, so that doesn’t factor into it at all.

And I’m not going to do the bit with Mariano. The girls are six and five. Nobody has genuine, proper crushes at that age, so… it wouldn’t really work. Nor would Abuela be forcing relationships on them that early. That’s just weird. Though he definitely is a friend of them both, as they go to school together.

Antonio is soon to be engaged to (the also aged up) Alejandra. Though they do like each other, the relationship is happening too quickly for them and they aren’t really given a chance to know the real versions of each other. Just the perfect image presented by their families.

Alma ignores Mirabel entirely. She’s too grown up to need to be scolded or reminded to step aside now. Mirabel doesn’t have an actual job, though she did try to get one - the townspeople didn’t want her. She helps out with chores around the house (alongside Agustín and Félix), and does serve as the Madrigal’s personal embroiderer; not that she gets the credit.

I feel like the unofficial adopted kids (especially the abused ones) will use the last name “Madrigal” to estrange themself from the last name they got from their parents/guardian. 

Also, when a kid (or kids) feels unsafe at home do they go to Dolores and/or Mariano? I’m sure it’s a yes but I’m just makin sure. 

I kind of imagine a kid running to Tia Casita and going through the secret back door to Dolores. And in the morning all of the other madrigals just wake up and see a random kid at the breakfast table. Lolo silently dares anyone to say anything with her side eye. 

In that type of situation she’ll have the kid stay at Casita with Camilo, Mirabel, and Antonio while she beats up the people who made her baby feel any sort of pain (and takes them to the authorities right afterwards.)

And on the plus side, a new baby gets to stay with her! 

Lil side thought: The kids definitely call Mariano’s grandmother Bisabuela and it warms her heart so much.

When any of the children just start to feel bad at a certain point, they most likely go to Dolores. Calling her or just go into the room! But I’m sure that if they noticed that Dolores is busy they definitely will go to Mariano too :)

I would say that Dolores would’ve wanted the kids to rather have breakfast in the room since most of them maybe don’t trust any other adult but if they would still want to stay with Dolores (or any of the others) she would bring them down without an expectation!

Pepa would be confused meanwhile casita accidentally left Félix out! (Not in a mean way, he was just late and casita forgot)

Mariano would’ve come to visti too, just to make sure everything’s okay! (Alma would think he came for Isabela, and would put him next to her which annoyed dolores a lot)

Mirabel would tell the kids that she would come play later! (She’s their favorite playmate and it’s normal for them to eat faster than the Madrigals)

Antonio introduces the girl everyone in his family and would definitely keep talking to her!

Isabela would get annoyed that Dolores is doing it, thinking she’s trying to ruin breakfast time (but she actually also adores the new children)

Camilo would try to irritate Isabela on purpose when he sees that she gets annoyed by it, mostly he does it because he knows that she likes the children (he makes sure they eventually talk to her too, if the wanna)

Luisa waves to the little one, also finding it adorable :D (Camilo did it on purpose but then he started to wave on his own)

And dolores just stares Alma down, daring her to say anything about it!

+ Mariano’s grandmother (don’t have a name yet) would be with the children upstairs, making sure they’re okay while Dolores is gone

oh absolutely, fandom is built on the life blood of comments and i've made some of my dearest friends fangirling over each other's fic. Plus, i've never been particularly overwhelmed by comments so it's never been a particular hardship.

In Cupid's Little Bag of Trix, probably. Clint and Darcy are a barrel of monkeys and they're both so fucking full of zest.

Not that I've ever noticed. I'm fortunate enough to just get readers who want to be chill. i had someone once scold me for being mean to Alec Ryder, lol.

so much smut- less in Mass Effect, which is mildly hilarious given Aedan's penchants, lol.

Not unless you count the various branchings of Marvel. I don't really get the appeal.

I sail an armada, lol. I multiship and my favorite varies with what day it is. Right now, Codywan is winning, heh. My favorite to *write* though... Shenko is right up there but Clint/Darcy was so much fun.

15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

none of my WIPs are abandoned. I don't know if I'll ever finish Steal Away Home the way i want to, though.

16. What’s your writing strengths?

Dialogue and characterization, I think. Structurally, I have an excellent grasp of nuance when it comes to word choice in a way that lets me say a lot with not much.

17. What’s your writing weaknesses?

I'm not particularly focused and it can take a long time for me to finish work. And I tend to write without outline and that can lead to a wandering, meander of a fic.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Do it all the time, do my best to make it accurate. I use a smattering of Scots Gaelic for my version of Starkhaven and my source is mostly old books because i like the archaic texture of it. Several of my characters have american south accents and i elide words and use slang and drop g's. '"I am going to the store, mother," she said in her Texas twang' does not read like "Goin' t'the store, ma." and you can't make me believe you don't lose vast amounts of characterization by trying to force it to work. And overly correct dialogue is one of the first reasons i'll drop out of reading fic.

Cupid's Little Bag of Trix is a (now fairly heavily edited) mess of stream of consciousness that grew a plot from when i was writing quick switch omniscient pov and just expected my readers to figure it out. But i love it. And it remains the biggest boost to my writing ego as ten years after posting, i still get kudos Verge (post Omega DLC) is when i really figured out who Aedan and Kaidan are, together and it manages to wreck me all over again, every time i re-read it.

I'm having a bit of a rough time lately...Can't really focus on any writing or one single piece of art for too long - I just keep jumping all around and it is exhausting. So...I just decided to talk about my main character since I'm feeling more comfortable with sharing things about her. And be warned, this will be all over the place as well.

And below the cut are lots and lots and lots (and I mean, a lot) of details of development, fun facts, and further info on my girl.

🌙 Carmen is incredibly morally grey - I place her very firmly as a chaotic neutral.

🌙 Some cute, lighter things before I get in too deep with her character: As a child, she was very much a daddy's girl. She loves to make things; especially jams, wines (jet fuel, save for a lavender wine that is surprisingly pleasant), suncatchers, jewelry, and the occasional tambourine. She can read the stars. She really likes sweets - her favorite flavors being caramel, honey, and cherry. And she really loves peaches - her Devil Fruit was once a peach. As mentioned above, typically in a real-world setting, her mother is from Japan, so Japanese is usually a second language for her, but it hasn't come in One Piece. But she also really loves miso soup, especially when it reminds her of her mother's cooking. Her mother brushing her hair is a very fond memory for her, and she grew it out for her mother - playing with hair is a major sign of affection for her. She really likes the ocean and she misses swimming.

Anyway...

🌙 She won't hesitate to become violent - there's confidence in her abilities that can even overflow to arrogance at times. In fact, Carmen was so similar to Kid, I had to tone some things down. For example, in Gundam, she had the short choppy hair (which she gets at some point in every insert, but more on that later) and she always wore goggles either on her head or around her neck. She was a mobile suit pilot and she loved working on her machinery, so I took the tinkering and mechanic aspect away from her. Although...I do still have an old mechanic pin-up drawing I did a few years back...

🌙 Carmen still thinks robots are cool, though! Didn't take that away from her. She also likes dinosaurs, dragons, comics. Since the only one I'm aware of in One Piece is Sora Warrior the Sea, she's an avid Sora fan and goes straight to the strip whenever the paper drops. She also really likes anything considered scary and strange. She likes to catch spiders, lizards, insects. As mentioned above, she has a fascination with Thriller Bark. Her favorite holiday is Halloween - she loves all things Halloween. In the real world, the Monster Mash is one of her favorite songs.

🌙 Also...in a real-world setting, she fucking loves ALF??? (She's watching ALF all the time in Gundam)

🌙 Beyond her interests and sense of humor, she herself is also incredibly...weird? Strange? Off-putting maybe? Franky will describe her as sketchy earlier on (Wandering Star, episode 5), even as she warms up to everyone, I'm not sure that opinion really goes away.

🌙 Very much a trickster - it's her base for how she functions even later in work and play. If you've read any of Wandering Star, you know she absolutely cannot be trusted - not unless you truly get to know her, at least. But before that, she knows how to read people due to her job and absolutely will use it to her advantage.

🌙 She has ridiculous willpower when it comes to reaching her goals. Originally, she wasn't going to have Conqueror's Haki, but after reading more about it, I realized it would be absolutely fitting for her.

🌙 I kept with my other rules though. No Future Sight, she can't hear the Voice of All Things, and she is not a "D". Her middle name for well over a decade has been Dolores, so I removed it entirely for that purpose. While she is good with Haki because of her upbringing in a powerful kingdom with a Haki-based military and her family being personal friends with the Captain of the Guard who would train her from a young age, she is far less reliant on it now. However, she does often pair observation Haki with her powers, and has pretty much ceased use of armament. Her whole thing is just "don't get hit", which usually works out for her with her speed and precision - but is absolutely not always the case.

🌙 She doesn't like to use shields or wear helmets, even in battle. That was a big thing that came up often in her insertions for Berserk and Gundam. With armor, she just likes to keep everything light.

🌙 She doesn't like to wear shoes. That's just always been a thing with her. She will compromise with some black flats or comfy sneakers though.

🌙 I've noticed she's always incredibly nomadic. In AOT, it was the Survey Corps. In Berserk, she was a mercenary. In Gundam, she was Airborne. She holds rank across the board, too.

🌙 On that note, I'll say she feels very much like a natural-born leader. While she can be crude and cold (often) she still always very much cares for her men, and they give love and loyalty in return. In One Piece, you'll see what she was willing to give just to be sure her men had adequate training (for victory and survival), food, clothing, and shelter. Her and her men are always like a family, that's across the board. They like to sing a lot, especially around their campfires.

🌙 Singing and dancing is something that has carried over for her since I was a child. As much as I hate it, it is a major part of her as a character and has been from the start. In One Piece especially, after certain events you'll see she'll use singing to kinda self-soothe (also I've noticed when she sings, unless she's performing, it's always sad songs or love songs???), and dancing is very freeing for her. In stories across the board, she's always working at a club of some kind that leads into the main story. For Berserk, it was pretty much the same as One Piece when the Band of the Hawk came through. In Gundam, she was working in a far sleezier little place, stole a cop car to attempt to drift it to try to impress a guy and got arrested - with current world events, they gave her the option of prison or military. She chose military and went on to become a Major, and yes, at least one war crime was committed on her part. To further illustrate her brand of violence even from back then, there was one scene after she had just lost one of her men where she stepped on ground soldiers with her mobile suit, smearing a few of them.

🌙 The pilot thing always carries over in some way shape or form. If it's not a mobile suit or an aircraft, it will be a black Jeep or a black horse. In One Piece, she will come to find she adores sailing ships.

🌙 Another really big thing that will always carry over across the board is at some point, she will lose her hair. In Berserk, she willingly cuts it off out of grief. In Gundam, her hair is already short for the main story, and you get the event in a backstory OVA. For One Piece, I know exactly when it happens. Which, across the board, it is devastating because of how special hair seems to be for her.

🌙 Also for appearance, her weight can tend to slightly fluctuate as well. In the main story for Gundam, her stomach has a bit of softness. During WS, she's very toned, bathes often. Post-WS she's still fit, but her stomach is softer, she doesn't bathe as often (maybe every 3 days). Some TMI, she's not a dancer anymore, so she doesn't have to keep everything clean-shaven down there, and she doesn't. In WS, her scent was like a sweet spicey vanilla amber on her skin and flowery/fruity for her hair. After WS, she just smells like sea salt and her captain. Even though she has a pretty bad scar between her shoulder blades (that's new for her) she will probably get the moon phase tattoo down her back that she had in Gundam.

🌙 Aside from appearance, there are plenty of core story elements that have always and forever carried over and translated to the worlds, but I think that's all I'm willing to give for now while I'm actually posting Wandering Star.

🌙 For some more character development info: If you've been following me, you've probably seen me mention a handful of times I've had Carmen since kindergarten. My first memory of her is on the playground and she was a VeggieTales OC at the time (can you believe???) But her first full, actual insertion was Sonic the Hedgehog when I was in second grade. Fun fact: her eyes are still purple to this day because of her Sonic insert.

🌙 On that note, while she's gone through many changes and developments over the past couple of decades, you will see plenty other artifacts still shining through from her inspos. Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre Dame was one to the point where it permanently affected part of her style (fully, depending on the world. But I love her One Piece insert because it somehow let her two distinct styles come together and kinda fuse).

🌙 If you've read episode 2 of Wandering Star, her meeting everyone was based off Esmeralda's dance, and even her family house words "Let Justice Be Done" spill over from that character. And those house words have been used in multiple inserts. Though I will say, over the years I've noticed she's developed her own darker sense of justice. Oh, also the Thane family crest carried over from Berserk (it's just Skull Knight's sigil - don't tell anyone).

🌙 Another huge impact for developing her to who she is today was Lara Croft (I was just...so into Lara Croft as a child...all the Tomb Raider games...man) - that whole 'tough girl' thing has stuck, but more importantly, it was the beginning of her dual wielding that was solidified with her Attack on Titan insert. Between the two, I've had her current fighting style for a while and was delighted when I saw how similar it was to Killer's own fighting style. Fun fact: when I make her in video games, I play as her - go for the choices she would make, the armor she would wear, the weapons she would use. In my thousand plus hours of Monster Hunter World/Iceborne and Rise/Sunbreak, I have only touched dual blades for serious gameplay.

🌙 Beyond dual-wielding, duality is a major character element of her I have picked up on over the years - how she's incredibly cold-blooded and brutal with enemies, but how she has such a sweet and devoted loyalty and a gentle heart for those she loves. I noticed duality even manifested itself with her power use in the world of One Piece, even as far as the attack names themselves in the form of a big scary word and a really pretty word (i.e. Eschaton Aurora). That's how it goes for all of her attacks, except one that isn't an attack - it's the softer, loving side of her power use and it's called Honeymoon, though it's never really said. So, there ya go.

🌙 Even further, she always has twins - Rae and Ciri (Raemond and Cirilla). BUT! Interestingly enough, if (and that's a really big IF) she reproduces in the world of One Piece, it'll just be a boy instead of the twins that's she's been having for over two decades. Which...i can't figure out why...But! I do have a name chosen for him! However, I came into this planning to kill her off before she reproduces - it was a rule when I gave in to her insertion. Think I'll just let things play out like I always do.

Anyway...that's enough for now. If you made it this far...wow. All I can say is I hope you like her! I realize she won't be for everyone, but that's okay! Her and her stories keep me going.

I don't think Camilo helping Pepa is such a big deal, she was visibly having a panic attack.

Also I think her behavior is caused by Alma's abuse, don't get me wrong she done some shitty things, but considering the fact that her mother was forcing her to be constantly happy from when she was five years old while not letting her feel other emotions caused her not to grew up emotionaly, what isn't something you can learn yourself, you need adult to teach you how to deal with your emotions in healthy way and Alma turned her daughter into a wreck which is snapping at others and lack control of her emotions, because her own mother never learned her how. Her anger at Mira was slightly justified as it truly looked like she was trying to sabotage Antonio's ceremony and proposal.

The things like anger at Bruno and Camilo calming her down are caused by the fact that her mother was scolding her for feeling angry or panicking because villagers wouldn't be happy of the weather, even when she is 50!

While this doesn't excuse her completly it is still hard not to understand why she is like that.

While Bruno was black sheep when they were adults what was confirmed by creator as Bruno at first was Encanto favorite so this strongly imply that Pepa was first scapegoat and victim of her mother's abuse.

Also Agustin and Julieta aren't as good parents as many think they gave her eldest daughter away and had no problem when Alma turned her into her trophy child(what is one of the worst things you can do to child), don't seem too close with her middle child, having no problem with her being overworked, the only child they seem to be truly close to is Mira.

I do have to disagree regarding your points about Pepa, for the most part.

Yes, you're absolutely right about Pepa's emotional instability being caused by Alma. 100% agree.

However, that doesn't excuse her from gossiping about Bruno, and for snapping and being mean to Mirabel.

No, Pepa's anger at Mira wasn't justified in my opinion. That woman was being mean to a child she was never there for, a child who was only trying to help in both Antonio’s ceremony and Isa’s proposal (which was Dolores’ fault, not Mira’s). If Pepa thought Mira was ruining both events (which she clearly didn’t), than she hadn’t right to get angry at a child.

Camilo shouldn't have to comfort and take care of his own mother when it should be the other way around. Yes, I often bring my parents their tea, but I don't I don't comfort them like you do with a toddler. It also doesn't help that we barely see Pepa be an actual mother.

Yes, Bruno made a joke he shouldn't have made because it was Pepa's wedding, and was in the right to be pissed in the moment, but not gossip about it for 21+ years like a mean girl! That woman is 50!

Where did you get the information that Bruno was Alma's favorite at some point? Because I don't think that was the case when Bruno was having (negative) visions at 5 years old as well. Can you give me a source?

I 100% agree that Julieta and Agustín weren't good parents either. They let Mirabel sleep in the nursery even at 15 years old, Julieta left Mirabel right after a house almost killed her for whatever bullshit Pepa called her for, and She and Gus didn't believe Mira when she talked about the cracks. Their relationship with Isabela was never even addressed in the film, which I find extremely weird.

A/N:there are a whole lot of original characters names in here, the reason being the flow of the story, while I would love to put real characters names it wouldn’t make sense going forward, I also promise they will help the relationship later, the first few chapters are more background and relationship set up than anything else, hope you enjoy, Daryl time soon.

You enjoy the places you work, the diner is a little more fun than the liquor store but they were both quite easy for you. You loved the social aspect of the diner and how you could connect with your customers, but you also loved how calm the liquor store was most days. It was also common that you did small day work at the local bookstore for an old man named Mr. Hamlin who paid you for your efforts.

On this particular day your schedule looked like this: 6am-1pm at the diner, then 3:30pm-9pm at the liquor store.

You get dressed and by 5:20 you are out of the house. You arrive at the diner after a short walk at 5:46 and say a quick good morning to your co-workers. your favorite of the employees being a shorter spunky girl named Kaya and a very nice but sheepish named Denise. As you hang up your jacket and put on your apron, customers start entering. The day was fairly quiet until a familiar face from last night entered the diner with a couple friends in tow.

“I got this one yall” you yelled to the other servers as you walked over to the table he chose.

Merle looked up at you and smiled his flirtatious grin. “Well goo’mornin’ darlin’ how you been”

You rolled your eyes at his tone and chuckled a bit “I’ve been great Merle”

“That’s great” he looked at the people of his table and began to point “that one right there is-“

You cut him off and began your own pointing “Tristan, Bentley, Buck, Skrewy and..”

You hesitated and looked at the last person. Daryl didn’t look much like his brother, he was smaller, with more hair and a mole next to his mouth. One thing they did have in common though was their bright blue eyes that looked like doll eyes in a way.

“Oh!” You snapped out of thought. “Daryl, sorry my brain goes 100 miles a minute”

You look back at Merle.

“damn girl you know everyone”

“Well Tristan is my friends older brother, Bentley comes by the liquor store every Sunday for a big cup of Mountain Dew, and Skrewy fixes all my shit when it breaks”

You always knew your town was incredibly small, everyone seemed to be in everyone else’s business. It seemed that everyone knew your neighbor Dolores slept with Roger the mailman- everyone but her husband that is- and the same could be said for Mr. Roberts on 13 Jawson rd sleeping with mrs abbigail when his wife Sharon isn’t home, or how everyone knew Mrs. Crawford was retiring. Everyone knew almost everything and everyone.

“Darlin’, can we get a couple of burgers and beers for the table?” Merel gestures to the table of people while he talks.

You quickly wrote the order on the notepad and asked if they would like anything else before giving the order to the cook. The whole time you served other tables you could feel someone’s eyes on you, those electric blue eyes belonged to Daryl Dixon. Why did you stop when you had to say his name? Were you thinking about all the rumors you heard of him and his family? Did you have something to say? Or did you just not want to serve the town trash? All things were going through his mind as he stared you down. He had a habit of hating people before giving them a chance and to him you were no different than the others.

“____! order for table 6!” The cook shouted for you from across the diner.

“That’s on me!” You yelled backed before going to get the plates and drinks

“Here you guys go, 5 burgers, one with no lettuce, 3 with fries, and 5 beers. Enjoy.”

“Oh we will Miss____, thank you”

You continued your rounds and after about an hour Merle’s party left, and a couple hours later it was time for you to head to the liquor store. With a quick goodbye to Denise and Kaya you were walking your way to the store.

“Well good morning Mr. Murphy!” You yell at the old black man who always seemed to be outside the store smoking his cigarette.

“____ you know good and well it’s no longer morning….. but hello to you too” he chuckled and took another inhale of his cigarette before you walked inside.

“George?! Are you here?!” You cup your mouth looking for your boss.

BANG,CRASH……tonk

“God damn it!!” You hear your boss yell from the back room.

“Are you okay!?” You run toward the noise

“I’m fine, but the shelf and a month’s supply of mega gulp cups are not” he kicks one of the fallen cups in frustration.

George was an interesting man, to you at least. He had long brown hair to the middle of his back, dark brown eyes, and a horrid mouth on him only challenged by a sailor. You often found yourself getting lost in the tattoos that covered the man starting on his forehead, down his chest and arms and eventually falling down to his ankles. For being such an intimidating looking man he was quite childish, but in an extremely fun way. One time the two of you went to go buy his daughter clothes at the thrift store and you spent almost half an hour just looking for where he and his daughter kept disappearing too (they were inside the clothing racks everytime, giggling and screaming when you found them).

“What in the world happened anyway?” You asked a little befuddled at the scene before you.

“I tried grabbin’ the fucken Marlboro shipment box to restock and the shelf crippled itself, cups and the packs went everywhere.”

“Oh I’m so sorry could I help you?”

“Nah I don’t need it, just get out front and work the register, if anyone asks for Marlboro tell them we are out”

“And the cups?”

“I’ll put an out of order paper on the soda machine”

A slight sigh of frustration exists both of you before you walk into the front of the store while George cleans up. As if by coincidence the moment you get behind the register glass you make eye contact with 2 pairs of blue eyes.

“Oh!” You squeak in surprise.

“Well welll darlin’ this the 3rd time in the last 30 hours, you stalkin’ me or somethin?” Merle says, beaming with a cocky smirk.

“Who would stalk you?, And last I checked you’ve been to my friends house, my first job at the diner, and now you’re at my job at a liquor store. Sounds to me like you’re the stalker Mr. Dixon” you returned the smirk.

“If you two are done being fuckin weird I’d like my fuckin smokes” you finally hear the younger brother, Daryl, speak.

“Oh I’m sorry, what kind?”

You knew there was nothing wrong with this man. You had never even met before today. All knowledge you had of him was rumors. “That Dixon boy was in another damn fight”, “the Dixon boys caused another commotion”, “those Dixon boys were caught with drugs again” but you never confirmed any of these things to be true. ‘I don’t believe he was caught with drugs. Merle of course but I can’t see the younger one with them.’ You thought to yourself as you looked at the man while he scanned the cigarette options on the display behind you. ‘He’s got one hell of an ill mannered attitude though; as long as I don’t make him angry everything should be okay.’

The man finally looks back to you from the display and says “Marlboro”

‘Well fuck’

That being said, if I had to make another character die or swap one death out for the other, it would be Camila. Out of all the side characters, she represents life the most. She is fun-loving, and generally optimistic, which would make her death all that more bleak. That and, out of all the characters, she is least invested in the actual plot and mystery, happy enough to keep out of the whole issue. It certainly would affect Dolores a lot, since she is doing her best throughout Burning of the Apiary to keep the rest of the convent school safe from whatever is slowly poisoning their minds and relationships.

Love the sinner.

I couldn’t think of a tagline at first, but then I remembered the whole Christian saying of “love the sinner, hate the sin” or whatever it is. I grew up Catholic, though this was never explicitly said; just implied. And it made me reflect on some personal things where that sort of ideology was present and the disastrous effects it had years down the line, especially when it comes to love in all forms. I thought it would be fitting for Burning of the Apiary because, ultimately, it’s about love and its destructive nature when tied to ideologies like that. In world, the religion might not be Catholicism, but it’s still highly dogmatic and devotion based.

While researching bees, I found out that there is a type of moth that acts as a predator/invasive species to bees. The wax moth, both lesser and greater, eats beeswax, pollen, remains of larval bees, and more. However, the most interesting fact is that they often only target hives that are already diseased or declining. They’re a great indicator of underlying problems in a bee colony.

I thought this was cool and they may or may not make an appearance in Burning of the Apiary.

I find most of my inspiration from other types of media I consume, including movies, tv shows, and, of course, books. Even photos and the rare hike I take give me inspiration. I think part of being a creative person is finding inspiration anywhere and everywhere, and that’s very true with me.

Burning of the Apiary is one of those WIPs I’ve had on the backburner for a while, and I’ve tried writing it several times. The original inspiration was a mix of a few dreams I had written down and Coraline. Since then, it’s evolved to pull more inspiration from the classic gothic novels I read (and loved) in high school college, most notably Villette and Jane Eyre, along with Guillermo del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth and Crimson Peak, mixed with whatever I find cool and want to throw in there.

My way of plotting is sort of throwing things and seeing what sticks. I tend to get ideas very piecemeal and random –– a scene or piece of dialogue or character. This can make it difficult to plot sometimes, which is why my outlines tend to be written, rewritten, and then usually tweaked even during the writing process.

I’ve tried several plot structures, like the 3-Act, 7-Act, and Save the Cat method. None of them quite worked out for me, but I took pieces here and there to figure out a general plot, or at least plan major beats and fill in everything in between. Knowing the genre is always the most important for me, though, since certain plot points are “standard” for genres (and for good reason). Plus, the better I know the genre, the easier it is to choose what rules actually apply to my WIPs. For Burning of the Apiary, I definitely researched and read a lot of horror and mystery novels to familiarize myself with genre-plot conventions and beats (and also found some new favorites). It’s been fun and I’ll be using that to figure things out!

the overall goal for Burning of the Apiary is about 80-90k, so I am trying to get at least half of that done during NaNoWriMo. we'll see.

The Memorable Memories of Season 12

There’s just something in the Jersey water. In case you didn’t enjoy RHONJ this season, let me remind you of the rollercoaster that was season 12. 

Here are my favorite and most memorable moment of RHONJ this season:

1. “She was a fucking pharmaceutical rep, you fucking idiot!”

The season started with a bang, where Margaret Joseph was on a rampage against Jennifer Aydin. 

She confronted her about her husband’s infidelity, and instead of denying it, Jennifer corrected her.

Love her or hate her, this was iconic.

2. “Don’t cry, because there’s no reason to”

The insensitivity from the other women about Jennifer’s emotions were a provoking thing to watch. 

The women denied her pain, and Marge said the most provoking thing:

“Kids are resilient, they can go to therapy and get over it.”

3. “I don’t need to hear it from this”

Jackie Goldschneider didn’t think that Dolores Catania acted like the friend Jennifer needed, which lead to this heated moment between the two.

Jackie deserved mad respect for not cowering in Dolores’ face.

4. “Why are you still filming?”

Teresa Giudice was absent and dormant during the beginning of season 12 which made a lot of fans speculating if she would quit the show.

As Luis Ruelas didn’t want to film, Teresa stormed out of the Shore house. It certainly looked like the beginning of the end for The Teresa Show.

5. The Throw Out of the Shore House

As Teresa had stormed out of the Shore house, poor Jennifer was left hosting a bunch of people who didn’t like her – and worst of all was the Gorgas.

They got into the Instagram feud between Jennifer and Melissa Gorga where she had called the Gorgas “crooked”.

Jennifer called Joe Gorga “a little bitch girl” and threw them out of the Shore house.

6. “I didn’t mean to cut you to the core”

The situation at the Shore house made Jennifer even more unpopular in the group, and she asked Marge to meet her for lunch to bury the hatchet.

It was a surprisingly heartfelt moment between the two enemies. But it also revealed that Teresa had made Jennifer dig into the Evan Goldschneider rumor. 

7. “You’re trying to burst my love bubble, it’s not gonna happen!”

While Teresa was dormant during the beginning of the season, her rage for Marge was building slowly, but surely.

She was furious that Marge had addressed the allegations against Luis on camera and accused her of being the source of the blogs.

Last season was the season of pineapple. This was the season of the love bubble. 

8. Dolores’ Softball Game for Charity

Dolores’ softball game for charity was such a good episode! It was messy and funny! So much fun!

Jennifer was wise to wear the helmet to protect her new nose. 

This season could’ve been Jennifer’s big season, but just like she did at the softball game, she fell flat.

9. The Table Flip 2.0 in Nashville

The moment that was so much talked about that it almost couldn’t live up to its own hype. But it was the climax of the feud between Teresa and Marge this season.

This is probably the only show where aggressive behaviour isn’t chastised by Bravo, while they’re quick to condemn any other show.

I guess it’s a Jersey thing...

10. Lights out at the Reunion

Season 12 had a good reunion. There was plenty of drama, laughable moments, shocking moments, strange moments like the power going out and Teresa standing up and twirling in her discoball jumpsuit. 

And the complete erase of Traci Johnson’s presence on the reunion!

Reunions has become very dragged out and a insignificant part of the shows now, I’m afraid. But this was a reunion to remember.

"Encanto" is one of the best Disney movies ever, and here's why

1. Representation of mental health in a children's movie

This movie so brilliantly showed mental health issues in many of it's characters. Mirabel thinks that she isn't good enough because of Abuela, which is a good sign of Avoidant Personality Disorder. Luisa obviously has crippling anxiety from the weight that's been put on her shoulders, and Bruno is showing hints of depression and anxiety as well.

As the oldest sibling of my family who had severe anxiety all my life, never have I ever related to Disney songs as much as "Surface Pressure" and "Waiting On A Miracle". I think it's beautiful how Disney made not one but two songs about mental illness, and dealing with it. It teaches kids to not hide their feelings!

2. Showing diversity by having a Colombian family as the main characters

This movie is one of the rare ones which don't have a white protagonist. I noticed that in the last few years Disney started showing more and more diversity with non-white female leads (Tiana, Moana, Raya, and now Mirabel), and I especially love how it's a family! A great detail that needs to be recognized is that even tho they do look alike (because they are a family), none of the characters look the same. I feel like in the older movies, even when there was some diversity, all people of color would look the same. It shows how much Disney has improved!

It also shows toxic family relations in Latina families, like how Abuela favorited others over Mirabel, especially because Mirabel is a middle child. This movie is on all levels so realistic. Besides the magic.

3. Having a strong female lead with realist proportions and an actual personality

Since the beginning of 2000 up until now, Disney and Pixar have been doing a great job at making characters with realistic, complex personalities, and it really shows. They really went from having white princesses being saved by a prince charming to strong, diverse women who have enthusiasm and take charge by themselves. Don't get me wrong, I still love the older white princesses, but I'm glad that nowadays every little girl can look at the screen and see a princess that looks like them! Disney still has a long way ahead of them when it comes to diversity (would it KILL you to make an LGBTQIA+ character?? Or a Muslim character??), but we gotta appreciate how far they came!

I also loved this movie for it's lack of small waists, for it's realistically sized noses and actual hips on characters. Feels good to have realistically proportionate people in cartoons, it reminds kids that all shapes and sizes are gorgeous!

4. Awesome plot and great animation

The plot and even the idea of "Encanto" is really interesting, and it isn't one of the classical, overused tropes. The story is very original, and it isn't the classical family cliché.

I loved the animation, it's really raw and full of emotion. There were some scenes I didn't believe were actually animated because of how good they are, like Abuela crying.

5. Having an amazing soundtrack written by the legend Lin-Manuel Miranda himself

Name one bad song from this soundtrack. I'll wait.

From the beat to the lyrics and even the placement of the songs in the right moment, everything about this soundtrack is awesome! The tunes are so catchy (everybody has "We Don't Talk About Bruno" stuck in their heads) that it still reminds you that it's a Disney movie, but the lyrics are so deep and meaningful and clever and touching. The way Dolores smugly hid the fact that she can actually hear Bruno thru the walls in "We Don't Talk About Bruno" and then asked Mirabel "Do you understand?" was brilliant.

Also, "Dos Origuitas" is 2021's version of "Remember Me" from Coco. It has the same sad but also beautiful vibe.

Pepa and Felix being the best married couple ever

I- They are seriously the cutest. Pepa is so interesting and weird, and Felix is such an awesome, supportive husband that it's practically impossible to not love them. Felix is the type of a guy that would cause an unexpected rain all over the Encanto just and only because he tickled Pepa so hard that she started crying (brb gonna go write a fanfic like this). They are awesome partners, and even more amazing parents.

If you say that you don't simp (or at least love them) for Dolores or Camilo (or in my case both), you are lying. I don't make the rules.

All in all, Encanto is an awesome movie, in all aspects. I can just tell that one day, in like 30 years, kids are gonna be watching and loving this movie like we love "Beauty And The Beast" today. This one is gonna be one of the classics.

Bruno Madrigal… A 35 year old man, the only son of Alma Madrigal and the youngest triplet of the Madrigals… Decided to walk in the middle of the night, on the streets of Encanto… What’s the worst that could happen?

But then he heard faint crying. He tried to ignore it, knowing that there are two babies in his home… But this was different… It was close… and he could hear it clearer…

His eyes widen knowing that it wasn’t his niece and nephew that he is hearing. He followed the sound and found a box outside of a local bakery his sister. He opened the box to find a baby inside, crying, “Dios mio! Who left you alone?” Bruno said as he picks up the baby and it instantly stops and smiles at him. He got worried given the baby’s condition, he figured that the baby was left there a while back. He then carries the baby back to Casita to see if his family would do anything.

Bruno enters Casita, carrying a baby girl. Agustin was the first one to see Bruno and was worried, “Dios mio! Bruno… Who’s baby is this?” Agustin said as Pepa got down from the nursery, after making her son, Camilo, fall asleep. Pepa saw her brother with a baby, “Bruno? Who’s baby is this—?” Pepa asked as Bruno opens his mouth, “She’s left alone in a box near the bakery. I had to take her in…” Bruno said as the baby’s eyes flutter. Alma was just in time to walk in on what was going on, “Mamá...” Pepa said as Alma approaches her son, “Where did you find her?” Alma asked as Bruno explained how he stumbled upon the precious baby.

“I see... Let’s take her in, and give her a lovely home.” Alma said to Bruno as he carried the baby to the nursery where Julieta is in.

Several years later, that baby turned into a beautiful girl that Bruno named Y/N…

Now at 4 years old and is a few months younger than Camilo and Mirabel, she has become a much more sister than a cousin to them.

“Can’t catch me!!” Y/N said as she rans along the tiles as Camilo and Mirabel following her. The three children are currently playing tag and Mirabel was it… Until she touches Camilo, “Hah! Camilo’s it!” Mirabel said as she rans away from Camilo, who is on his way to tag you, “I’m gonna get ya’!” Camilo playfully said as Y/N entered the kitchen where Bruno and Julieta are in.

The two saw the children playing from the counter, “Niños, no playing here in the kitchen.” Julieta said as Y/N giggled to run towards her adoptive father, “Papá, hide me!” She said jumping up to Bruno’s arms and hide in his ruana. Camilo saw this and pouted, “Hey! No fair, Y/N!” Camilo said playfully as Y/N stick out a tongue.

“Alright, mija… It’s time for you to eat something…” Bruno said as he puts you down to a chair and gave Y/N an arepa, “Can I eat too, tia?” Camilo asked as Julieta nodded and gave him an arepa. Camilo sat down to a chair next to Y/N and took a bite of it before Isabela came into the door, “Mami! Luisa, she accidentally dropped a boulder on her toe. She made it out but…” Isabela said as Dolores carries an 8 year old Luisa to the kitchen, “Ay! Dios mio! I told you to be careful! Wait here.” Julieta said examining Luisa’s toe. It was a little swollen, “Sorry Mamá, I wasn’t looking where I was going to land it…” Luisa said as Julieta find some extra arepas for her 2nd daughter.

Bruno lifted the child on his lap to cheer her up. But then Y/N went down from her seat and to Luisa. “Luisa… Can I see it?” She asked as Luisa nodded. Luisa let Y/N see the toe as Y/N wrapped her long hair around it. Bruno was confused but then remembered the vision he had this morning.

That vision was about his daughter having a healing gift before she gets her door. Her hair glows when she sings and would heal.

He didn’t believed the vision and he just thought it was another bad vision. But it was going to happen right before his eyes. Little Y/N closed her eyes as she now sings…

“Flower, gleam and glow…” She sang as her roots started to glow. Camilo saw this and was mesmerized… So mesmerized that he called his tia to look.

“Let your powers shine…” Y/N continues as the glow now passes by the length of her roots to her forehead level. Julieta and Bruno was mesmerized by the glow. Even Isabela, Luisa and Dolores.

“Make the clock reverse, Bring back what once was mine…” Y/N sang as the glow quickly goes to her ends. Camilo got down from his chair to see carefully. All eyes followed the glow as it engulfed to Luisa’s bruised toe.

“Heal what has been hurt… Change the fates' design…” She sang as the glow from her hair grew brighter.

“Save what has been lost… Bring back what once was mine, What once was mine…” Y/N finishes asthe glow left her hair. Luisa quickly took off the strand of Y/N’s hair out of her toe to see that it was now healed.

Gasps filled the air as all of those who witnessed it all look at the perpetrator… The adorable Y/N. “All better!” Y/N said as as Bruno gently let Luisa off his lap and crouch down to his adoptive daughter, “Mija… Where did that come from?” Bruno asked Y/N as she gave a small smile…

“I sang at the nursery with Mirabel and it glowed… I tried it with my red line here on my finger and it disappeared…” Y/N said as she pointed to a previous cut on her finger that was healed.

Bruno looked at his sister, whom nodded, “Y/N, let’s not sing too much in front of Abuela… Okay?” Bruno said carrying the girl and he rocked back and forth. Y/N nodded with a smile before yawning. “Tio? Is she going to be okay? I mean… With Abuela.” Dolores asked as Bruno carries the little girl up to the nursery with Dolores following. “I don’t know, sobrina… But let’s keep an eye on her for a bit and don’t tell your Abuela know about this.” Bruno whispered to Dolores as she nodded. Bruno gently placed his daughter on her bed and kissed her forehead then covered her with blankets.

His sisters, Pepa and Julieta, are in the kitchen with his brothers-in-law, Agustin and Felix. “I told Pepa everything…” Julieta said as Bruno nodded, “Y/N is asleep in the nursery…” Bruno said reassuring to his sisters about the little girl. “I still can’t believe that she has a gift before she’s five.” Pepa said sitting down next to Felix, who is trying to calm her down. The sky slowly turns light gray then back to blue, “Are you sure that it matches with the vision earlier morning?” Agustin asked Bruno as he nodded, “It was clear that Y/N is no ordinary child… But how do we tell mamá about this discovery?” Bruno said, seeking advice to the two couples.

“We don’t…” Julieta said, slowly angering her sister, “Juli, have you lost your mind?!” Pepa said standing up and almost shouting. But she knew that Dolores is eavesdropping on the conversation, so she didn’t. A cloud almost forming on Pepa’s head but Felix swiped it off, “What would mamá do to Y/N if she found out? She could get banned from setting foot here in Encanto!” Julieta argued making Pepa paused for a moment, “We all know that mamá will do something to protect Encanto… I think she will see Y/N as a burden or something dangerous.” Julieta said as Pepa sat down. “We can’t let mamá do that…” Felix said, agreeing to Julieta’s suggestion. Agustin turned to Bruno, who had his head lowered down on the entire conversation.

“Let Y/N stay in my room for a bit.” Bruno suggested as Julieta and Pepa looked at each other before their brother, “And what help will that do?” Pepa asked as Bruno stood up, “I’ll take care of this problem on my own.” Bruno said before storming off to his room. The two couples just sighed before going back to bed.

Months later, it is now time for Mirabel’s gift ceremony…

Y/N followed Bruno’s advice on not singing infront of Abuela. But then… The incident happened…

Mirabel’s door disappeared.

Bruno was dragged off by his mamá to ask what will be Mirabel’s future be. So he went to his room where Y/N stood and joined him on the vision.

Y/N were the only one witnessing this… “Is Mira’s future… Undecided?” Y/N asked as Bruno’s eyes slowly fell to hers.

The eyes of his daughter made him realize that Mirabel’s life might be in danger if he told his mamá about this, “I’m not sure mija… But I think Mira is not going to live a normal life…” Bruno said as Y/N fidget her fingers, “Then… What if we don’t tell Abuela and leave?” Y/N suggested.

And with a smile… Bruno nodded..

He broke the green vision, carried his daughter then went out of his room. But before leaving, he look at the door one last time then went inside of the walls.
