Cafe 2 - Black Coffee

"Are you sure you want it black?"

"I'm certain, don't worry."

Vertin frowned but set down the creamer on the kitchen counter anyway, hand still hovering nearby.

"It's not going to taste very good... How about we at least add some milk?"

Sonetto shook her head. "Having a proper foundation is important. I intend to have black coffee before anything else."

"A... foundation?" Treating their casual holiday activity as an experiment was... Well it was very much like Sonetto.

"Yes. Since the goal is to find my preferred drink, starting simple and building up is the most efficient method." Sonetto tapped her fingers on her open notebook. The lined pages were filled to the brim with nearly written lists and diagrams. "Like potion brewing, the foundation is the key and acts as the basis of everything including taste, color, and possible effects."

"I see..." Vertin resigned with a small sigh. In truth, she was a bit biased since she didn't like black coffee. While Picrasma was just as bad in terms of flavor, at least the energizing effect was strong. "Go ahead then."

Sonetto nodded in affirmation before reaching for the cup of black liquid. Vertin watched her take a sip, prepared to hand her a toffee if things got bad. Much to her surprise, Sonetto's expression didn't change.

"It's good."

"Hm? Is that so?" Vertin poured herself a cup and tried some. Her brows furrowed as her tastebuds were assaulted by a sour bitterness. Honestly, she didn't know what she expected.

"The potions used for torture are much worse in terms of taste." It was meant to be a casual remark, but Vertin's concerned expression made her quickly elaborate, "I-It was for an investigator training course, nobody was in any real danger."

Vertin wanted to say more, but Sonetto seemed to have already moved on from the topic, enjoying her drink. In the end, Vertin simply nodded and stared into her own cup of dark liquid. What an odd expression her reflection had. While they both trained under the Foundation, the investigator specialization definitely took the cake for difficulty. It was an arduous and dangerous role, much moreso than that of the Timekeeper. For Sonetto to continue to be so bright... She really was like a puppy who's tail never stopped wagging.

"Timekeeper?"

Sonetto's inquiring voice brought her out of her ruminations. "Yes?"

"Would you like milk with your coffee?"

Surprised, Vertin looked down at her barely touched cup. Ah, she still needed to finish it.

"That would be nice, thank you."

“Thanks, I’ll stash these for later, tamales’ll be great for lunch tomorrow and flan can be for dessert tonight. Right now I’m working on a new recipe,” Blue explained, pulling a pie crust out of the chest next to him, rummaging around for moment more before coming up empty handed, “Oh right…”

He sagged in defeat for a moment, before peeking back up, “Thanks, it was a lot of work, but was very rewarding. As for Green and the Chef… not… really. Green is not welcome back.”

So, I've seen a lot about Korn's betta fish. We see them in episodes 12 and 14. In episode 12 there are three, and I had assumed that they represented Korn's three sons. In episode 14, there are only two, and I think that the consensus now is that they probably represented Kinn, Porsche, and Vegas, and the two remaining represent Kinn and Porsche.

I've read some discussion about the hostility of male betta towards each other, such that the sight of one another can cause them to react violently. So, responsible fish owners should keep them out of sight of each other. However, of the ones we see in episode 12, one is off to the side, but the two that Korn is observing are directly next to each other, and they seem quite docile. I would assume that the two docile ones are the Kinn and Porsche fish, and the one off to the side was the Vegas fish, since Vegas had been mostly neutralised by then, and Korn was in the middle of the jerk-Porsche-around-about-his-parents and fuck-with-Kinn's-loyalty-to-Porsche plots. According with this, the episode 14 betta are also right next to each other and very docile.

So, I have to ask the important question here. Are the fish gay?

Liquid Fast February 6 - ?

So the fast started at 8:20 pm on the 6th.

As of right now I’m a bit past 24hrs, feeling fine. Have had 390 cals (160 protein drink, 190 nutrition shake thing, 40 bing drink) of liquids. Just feeling tired.

Oh I also burned 600 cals at the gym, did 3 miles / 70 minutes on the treadmill.

I forgot to weigh this morning so idk my starting weight for this but I’m guessing like… 253? Idk. We’ll see once I hit tomorrow, I should probably be down a decent amount (food weight, idk). I’ll update in the morning.

And hopefully I’ll be going to the gym tomorrow too, will take a protein shake with me to be safe.

Now just to avoid the pizza my brother just made…
