i like how as a phandom we are all deeply divided on whether or not Danny knows how to cook. I've read so many fanfics you guys, and it's always either Danny does not know how to cook or he's pretty good at it they just don't have any normal groceries.

The reasoning either way is always "well his parents cant cook so he's had to adapt"

to be completely honest with you, I’ve only seen things about it tangentially at this point as I decided it wasn’t worth keeping up with the moment they stuck with the whitewashed models. The crux of the issue with the writing, if we ignore the fact that narratively, it’s a show built on racism, is that tbb would've been interesting as an exploration of what happened to the clones after the war, ie what happens to a soldier who's no longer needed, instead of a really bad attempt to make us care about dave felony's white men ocs. And they could’ve hypothetically done both except they didn’t, then still managed to fail at the latter part which is honestly impressive.

so I don’t have a real “in depth” analysis other than it’s just a poorly written cash grab and seems to be a culmination of Disney’s racism and focus on quantity vs quality, making it a symptom of a bigger problem when it comes to soulless media. there are things I could touch on, like how they run with the FMB trope and then do nothing to subvert it or make it interesting, or just everything with Omega’s character, but I frankly don’t feel like the show deserves that level of breakdown because any analysis would be putting more thought into it than the show runners put in themselves while creating this mess.

I've now watched s2e6 and s2e7 all the way through and am just sad.

The sort of quiet fond look Ed has on his face before Izzy says "Having a think, are you?" is one we've seen many times on Ed's face before, mostly directed at Stede. In this instance, he's looking at people selling fish, and by extension, looking at possible new directions his life might take. It's right for him to want to do things that make him feel fucking great. It's right to walk away from a job that's been killing him. Ed has been through a lot and deserves a life with more contemplation and peace built into it. He deserves to be in love with his own life. Fuck yeah, brother, fly.

Meanwhile Stede is so stoked to be getting affirmation, which he has craved for so long, that he's chasing it wherever he can find it. And I love that Stede is getting affirmation-- he deserves to be affirmed-- even though I wish he were pickier about where he looks for it and what it's extended for.

And I think Ed, in saying "Last night was a mistake," meant "I had reasons for not wanting to sleep with you yet, and I wish I hadn't ignored them." But I also think that's not how it sounds to someone with self-worth problems.

I don't think anyone's really WRONG here. Sometimes people's needs and wants are in conflict with each other. Sometimes hurt and frustration get in the way of hearing each other and solving problems collaboratively. Sometimes people who are hurting or scared respond really ungenerously to each other. And it isn't always the end, because people don't have to be perfect to be worth it.

do you ever think about how RCG-written episodes, no matter how bad (both character morality-wise and writing-wise) they get, will always have a degree of humanity to them. like. 11x04 has dee doing something that is So incredibly wrong and horrible to dennis. but the reactions to it don't match its intensity. 12x07 again has dee doing something absolutely fucking deranged, and the gang tells her how fucked up it was. there's actually an acknowledgement both from her and from the others that what she did was awful, but her motivation, charlie, dennis, frank and mac's motivations throughout the episode make sense. dee's insecurity is the root of it, she can't handle being someone's "rock bottom", and she needs to prove that it can get worse. 11x04 dee just decides she's going to be a bastard and tell everyone that dennis was raped at 14. we don't know why she does this, and she really has no reason to, other than to be an asshole.
