A garden— so vast and so beautiful that it would make someone think that they are in heaven for a few moments, but the figures sitting by the pond on the garden proved the opposite.

Horns were placed on either side of their heads, one of their horns looked like one of a ram's, they had withered wings, akin to how an Angel's would be, and next to them, was a woman, dressed in a white dress who had black hair with dark grey, long horns. She was seemingly telling the demon to do something, soon enough, the demon left, leaving the woman all alone.

Then, she seemingly took notice of the vampire, whom she smiled at with her eyes closed, and she got up from her place, if it wasn't for her horns or tail, it would be too easy to mistake her to the one that created it all.

"It seems as though my serpent's mind has been thinking about nothing but me if you happened to appear here, well then, this is your dutiful place to be anyways. "

Spoke the woman, her voice... It was so soft and sweet, just like the one that appeared behind him a few mere days ago, there was no doubt, this woman was none other than the devil the one that whispers the most depraved things to your ear, and test your will, if you don't follow her advice, you get rid of her... For awhile at least.

"Ruling a whole another world is quite the work, you know? Especially dealing with demons that can be anything but obedient at times, funnily enough, most of them are humans- the ones that claim to be the holiest and the mightiest of all creations... Are the most troublesome ones wouldn't you agree, serpent? "

The smile she gave him showed four normal looking teeth, and then the rest were razor sharp, fangs that were similar to the ones he possessed, but definitely larger... And deadlier.

"That's quite bold of you, calling me 'yours' still. We've hardly spoken. And this 'serpent' has a name, you know. But yes, it's true. How could I forget someone who sought me out in such a mysterious manner? I've never experienced anything like it. That voice… There's something special about how you reach out to me. Like we've known each other for a long time, and yet we also don't know anything about one another. Tell me, do you feel the same? It's unsettling."

A paradise vista expanded before his very puzzled eyes as Ruki believed for a moment that somehow he ventured into the promised land, similar to that of Eden, yet somehow possessing an eerie aura that told him the opposite. Hell? Purgatory? How fitting for the Devil. The pond looked so stagnant, so devoid of life to the Vampire, almost like a reflection of himself. Alive, yet undead. That mellifluous cadence called out to him once more, attracting his attention.

"If you truly are some kind of deity, then I wonder just what kind of patience you possess that allows you to deal with mankind and their unforgiveable antics. Surely the Devil must have no shortage of recreants to punish, given that all humans are evil to an extent. The fundamental question of whether humans are fundamentally 'good' or 'evil' has never failed to make me laugh... As the answer is so painfully obvious. I should know, as I used to be one myself. Though you most likely already knew that."

As her large ungues came to view, Ruki couldn't help but take it as a threat not to lay a hand upon the Devil and her punishing might. Perhaps not the same fear as the one that coursed through his usual mortal prey, but rather a strong sense of caution to keep to himself.

"Not 'Serpent.' Ruki. Address me by my name from now on."

bee is the queen of the gluttony ring, she is responsible for the entire food chain in hell, having fast food services that take ultra-processed food to all hell, she dates a hellhound called vortex

bee likes to throw parties for the hellhounds and in them she satisfies their greedy needs and then apparently they produce her honey when they are satisfied(I hope the process is not similar to that of bees in real life )

He is responsible for fashion and social networks in hell, having the function of dictating trends, thereby sowing envy and disagreement among lesser demons.

it has a smaller, more versatile form, which its symbol represents

she is the dominant figure in the ring of laziness, owning several factories and laboratories to create medicines and drugs, her sin is followed when you fail to do something important so it takes you out of your comfort zone

an example of this is avoiding saving someone's life because it would hinder you

belphegor is a close friend of bee-lzebub but their relationship has not yet been shown in the series

一 Eden has always grown the best apples.

It's a known fact all throughout Valhalla. Samael has always loved dragging you there with him to pick (or more like steal) apples with his friends, Lucifer and Azazel -- and the four of you would always get chased out and away by a few of the guards after.

That's also where you'd first met him.

He's leaning against the gate, a half-eaten apple that is still so red, still so fresh -- the wax reflective and shiny against the sun -- bouncing up and down against his palm in the air and the other hand pocketed in his coat.

And he looks at you -- dressed in what could be the most finest silk made in Heaven, and a book is gripped tight in your hand as you walk up to him in careful steps, skilfully avoiding the twigs and mud on the ground.

"Hello. I am,” you pause abruptly, head pointing down to stare at the ladybug crawling up your dress. You bring your pointer to it and watch as it climbs up your finger -- it stays, and you admire it. His eyes widen just a little at your kindness -- your desire to love and shine radiating brightly around your figure -- and you look at him again. You could tell he's avoiding your eyes, so you move to where his vision covers and meet him there. He lets out a breath. You continue. "I'm here for Samael. Have you seen him?"

His ears perks up at the mention of a familiar name, and it's when you smile -- the slightly higher lift on the left corner of your lips, and eyes as wide as the Sun -- that he finally sees the resemblance of you and the said man.

So you're an angel just like the three of them, he connects, and he makes it a note to stay away from you; he gets himself to swear to never look into your eyes. Ever.

I cannot afford to hurt such an innocent soul.

But he gets distracted when you reach a hand up to swipe away a dead, fallen leaf on his shoulder.

He catches your eye by accident -- they fold into thin crescents when you finish. He doesn't look away, and instead of loathing it, he finds himself to be rather enjoying your attention on him. But habit pushes him to scan you through for any malicious intent.

He doesn't find any.

And he falls without himself knowing.

"There." You're grinning now, and he mentally curses you with a scowl -- for being so pretty, so kind, so gentle.

Stupid, stupid woman. You are too nice to me.

For what?

He doesn't deserve it.

I am cursed. I am misfortune. I am the devil.

You must stay away.

Though your smile falters a little at his expression.

"Oh, I am sorry. It wasn't meant to be anything. I always do it for my brother . . . I'm sorry."

You bunch up the bottom half of your dress and take a step back, thinking that you must have crossed a boundary -- and you break the eye contact in the process.

That was the last straw.

He thinks he hasn't hated himself so much in eons, and that's a lot coming from someone who has loathed his entire identity his whole life.

You turn your back to him and wait by the gate -- as if nothing has happened; as if nothing has ever happened. Your dress sways with the wind and he thinks you look tiny. You seem regretful. You feel dejected. The atmosphere is tense. You're quiet; you're nothing like the girl who walked up to him. His nose flares at his thoughts, eyeballs vibrating in his sockets out of anger towards himself for making you feel this way.

He doesn't like that it is because of him. He wants to reach out to you; to tell you that he didn't mean to look at you that way -- it wasn't meant for you at all, that he knows where Samael is -- still inside, still busy stealing apples from the orchard. He wants to look into your eyes again. He wants to know your name -- he knows you are more than just Samael's sister. He wants to hear you speak again.

His left foot lifts from the ground.

But damned Samael emerges from the entrance, and you immediately morph into a bright doll at your brother's appearance, seemingly having to forgotten about the little moment you'd shared with the man who's standing five feet away from you. His breath hitches in his throat, left boot stopping halfway in the air, and it moves back down to match his footprint on the grass -- where it was; where it should be.

He swallows.

That's right. Know your place, fool. You cannot afford to hurt her.

"I gotta go. Lucifer, Azazel, ya guys better walk Beelzebub home, 'kay? See ya." Samael bids his friends goodbye with you walking beside and holding a matching apple in your hand. You wipe the wax off on your dress to take a big satisfying bite, and the crunch echoes across the proximity of your group. Azazel drools a little at the sound and moves to grab one for himself, and he offers his friend one, too.

He shakes his head.

And you hum at the taste; it's just like Samael said -- sweet and juicy, you ought to like it.

Though you turn your head back in a hurry as if you'd forgotten something, and Lucifer's eyes nearly pops out of its sockets when you don't look at him nor Azazel, but rather at the man who is standing in between the both of them -- shoulders shrunken in to give himself some security, some comfort -- and he seems a bit timid to you despite the gloomy expression planted on a man who fits everything that Mother has always told you to stay away from.

Mother's always said to stay away from sad boys -- the ones who never speak and never talk. They ought to bring bad news someday.

He stuns when it's your turn to catch his eyes instead.

It's okay, Mother. I like him.

"I'll see you again, Beelzebub."

Your lips are wet with juice as you say it -- the corners lifted into a shy little smile as you quickly turn back and try hard to ignore your brother's suspicious gaze -- and he flushes a bright red when Lucifer brings a hand up to slap him hard on the shoulder. Him, an immortal, winces a little at it, but still, he refuses to acknowledge any of his friends' fits and whines as he rubs a palm over the sting that almost feels like a burn.

Lucifer and his damn strength.

He clicks his tongue a little.

"The hell?! Did'cha talk to her? Tell me!" Lucifer pushes, but Beelzebub doesn't reply. Heck, none of them even believes he's in the right mind to speak to anyone with how he's still so stunned from it -- how you were still so nice to him, despite all that he's made you felt earlier.

Beelzebub stares at your disappearing figure as you stroll out of the forest with your brother, and many thoughts runs through his logical mind.

You'll hurt her. Stay away.

You are cursed. You'll bring nothing but harm.

Stay away.

Guess he'll have to betray it this time.

ever fallen in love (with someone you shouldn't've): my first reaction to the title alone was like the second image of the kambucha girl meme. anyway i think this one is about them becoming friends (or more?? 👀) but knowing its seen as wrong. "And if I start a commotion, I run the risk of losing you and that's worse" makes me also think of jophiel talking to the metatron and realizing he shouldnt ask about azazel lest he risk the poor thing being smited.

I hope it's okay to pop in like this. I've seen others ask for little fun facts, and it made me really curious about some of the lesser talked about angels like Armoni and Dina.. (*´▽｀) would you be willing to share some precious tidbits about them as well? They're some of my favourites

Hello! It's more than okay!! I'm happy you like Armoni and Dina! :) I think they're both fun.

First, something about the two of them is that, a little after the war, Armoni (along with Azazel) scared away the angels that were harassing Dina; this is how Armoni and Azazel adopted Dina, essentially. Armoni comes off as very tough-love-y with Dina, but he cares about him a lot. Armoni will fix up Dina's clothes and accompany him everywhere and fight for him whenever Dina gets into a confrontation with a sanctimonious "pure" angel. Armoni can be very gentle though, and sometimes he will literally tuck Dina into bed, kiss his forehead and all.

Armoni, as its said in A&M, never particularly liked Lucifer, though I do think he's exaggerating his dislike when he remembers it. I think at the time he wouldn't have been honest to himself about being jealous of Lucifer's beauty. I also think that, if he ever interacted with angel Lucifer, he was very polite, then went home with a big frown. Armoni wants to be the most beautiful but mostly lacks the confidence (and is more self-conscious than he'd like the admit) and understands he has an attitude problem. Armoni really loves Azazel as well and occasionally asks Azazel to practice cosmetics on him. Armoni also likes musics and grapes and gossiping, much like Azazel. He misses the old Heaven, but all his old friends have forsaken him, and he wouldn't trade his new friends for anything in the world. Also, he's sex-repulsed, if you didn't catch it.

Dina.... So Dina was "stunted" a bit by the war and is struggling to mature. In a sense, he's a lot like Lucifer in Part 1 of ABM! He cries a lot and gets overwhelmed easily and doesn't like to be stared at too much. Immediately after the war, Dina was berated for not just stealing but for other sins he didn't commit, and he was made to feel ashamed of his face and body, and he was ordered to hide his "seductive" face. Since then, he's been mostly wearing that veil over his hair and sometimes over his face. Though Dina was forgiven by God, he doesn't feel forgiven, and he will sometimes look for Phanuel and follow him around distantly, wanting to apologize. He may have even tried, but other angels won't let him approach Phanuel, and Phanuel himself has been mute since the war, so Dina knows he wouldn't be able to receive forgiveness anyway; Dina is very miserable about this. While the Watchers plot is happening, I think Dina spends a lot of time indoors and doing various things to try to discover his role/purpose, but nothing is really clicking with him. Also during A&M, Dina prayed often to God to make sure that Azazel and Armoni were safe.

Oh, where do I even start? Definitely the powers and the demons like you said. I also wish he had gotten the acknowledgement he deserved for stopping the Apocalypse, like a whole cult of Sam the Messiah worshippers that springs up that he keeps having to avoid because they keep stealing napkins and beer cans and anything else he's touched. And definitely more callbacks to his demon blood addiction (separate from his powers), and he absolutely should have been the one to kill Lucifer.

I'll probably add to this when I think of more stuff.

It's like so many of Jack's decisions are colored by naivete or shame. And yes those things are very core to his character but I also feel like the writers were afraid to give him too much unadulterated autonomy because they didn't want to make it seem like Jack would consciously make any sort of "evil" decision.

Like yes killed someone but it was just a freak accident! He trusted Lucifer but he just didn't know any better! He killed Mary but he didn't mean to!! He was feeling overwhelmed and got away from himself :(. He went on a killing spree but he didn't have a soul and was being manipulated by Duma </3.

Even more personal decisions like "choosing" to give up his soul to kill Michael are muddled by the fact that his family was literally up against the wall and he had never been learned to value himself to the point where he'd even consider preserving his soul above his family lives. And "choosing" to become a bomb to kill Chuck because....hello? He was literally so overwhelmed with shame that he'd march himself to slaughter to earn Dean's forgiveness.

I really feel like Jack's character would have benefited a lot from more autonomy bc jfc the cambian Jesse Turner had more autonomy than Jack.

Let's take Sam who was pretty strongly paralleled with Jack in a lot of respects. Yes Sam dealt with manipulation and shame as well BUT in s4 Sam made active decisions like continuing to trust Ruby, use his powers, and drink demon blood. Things that Chuck explicitly said would make him seem "unsympathetic" to the audience. During the whole demon blood arc there were times when the audience wasn't even sure who was telling the truth or who's was in the right. Maybe Ruby is good. Or maybe Sam IS actually going down the dark path.

We as the audience realize that there was a chance Sam never came down from that high. If things were different maybe he could have gotten drafted for Azazel's evil army or Lucifer’s enthusiastic vessel and that's what makes his decision to finally counter "his nature" so powerful. Even after he freed Lucifer, Sam felt ashamed but he still advocated for himself and his decision to jump into the Cage to trap Lucifer again was not colored by a need to have Dean forgive him.

I think this is partly where all the incessantly babying of Jack comes from. Instead of getting to see him deal with any real moral crossroads and come to a decision, he's bombarded by outside forces and "acts out" to the point where his arc is more comparable to an orca than a person.

Angel blade? Check. Hex bags? Check. An array of knives? Check. A leather jacket that’s also bulletproof? Check. High-heeled boots that can stab a man? Check. Anti-angel powder you created? Check. You grab two of your knives and holster them onto your thighs as well as slide the angel blade into your right boot. You really don’t need these weapons considering you’re half-demon, half-witch but you like to be prepared anyways.

You’re on the path of revenge and won’t stop until all three of your targets are dead. Pictures of them hang on your wall as a reminder that your father died for nothing, and they are going to pay for it with their lives. 

Sam Winchester. Dean Winchester. Castiel. Three dead men walking.

“I promise, Dad, I won’t fail you now,” you say to the sky.

Your dad isn’t in Heaven or Hell but in the Empty. He’s sleeping and won’t be able to hear you but on the off chance that he is, you want him to know you’re going to finish what was taken from him. Your dad is Asmodeus who was one of the most powerful Princes of Hell. He was doing great things for the world but couldn’t finish because he was done dirty by Sam, Dean, and Castiel. They’d always fight him every step of the way but he kept you out of family drama like that. He was focused on training you to rule next to him, to take over what he was doing. He did nothing but good things for the world. Yes, he was a demon, but he oversaw all those evil things and overcame them.

So, when you heard of his death and the people behind it, you started running on this revenge path to kill those responsible for your father’s death. There’s only one place in the world where these three would reside, and it’s in the most secure place in the world. A few higher-power Gods have gotten through the Bunkers warding, but you’re confident enough that you can bypass it as well.

After finishing your checklist, you stuff a picture of your dad into your breast pocket and head out. With your demonic and witch powers, you’re able to travel to the Bunker with just a thought. You’ve never been here before, but all you had to do was think of the last place your dad was in and go from there. This place is disgusting and filthy and red with the blood of their victims, ones that they can never wash away.

You’re going to burn it to the ground with their dead bodies still inside it.

The Bunker has advanced warding all around it to keep monsters out. They were very efficient in the 50s, but you’re not going to let that stop you. Asmodeus had taught you how to bypass shit like this and put you through many tests to make sure you were capable of doing so. You run your hand in the sky from left to right, allowing the warding to appear so you can physically see them. They glow dull blue and glitch in and out of existence but it’s enough for you to see which symbols you need to get rid of.

You take out a hex bag and open it up to reveal the contents. If you just alter some of the ingredients, you can make a magical spell that will erase the warding permanently. You use your magic to transform some of the ingredients into others, and you throw it at the symbol you want. The entire building shakes upon the removal of the warding symbol.

Whoever is inside will know you’re here so you have to work fast.

Sam, Dean, and Castiel are inside the library doing some research when they feel the building shake.

“What the hell is that?” Dean asks. Ten minutes later, the building shakes again. “Okay, that’s coming from here. Cas, can you see what it is?”

“Yes.”

Castiel stares at the ground as he projects his power to the outside of the Bunker to see what is going on. If he can’t find anything, he’d search the entire Bunker for the source. Castiel sees a young woman fiddling with a hex bag before throwing it at another warding. He loses concentration when the building shakes again.

“There’s someone trying to get in,” Castiel says. “She’s burning off the warding to bypass it, which means she’s not human. We need to prepare for an attack.”

Castiel and the brothers get ready for the attack just as you burn off the last warding. You leave your hex bags outside since you won’t need them anymore. You blast the front metal door clean off the hinges and walk inside the Bunker. It’s completely empty from what you can tell but you’re not going to let looks be deceiving. You walk down the metal stairs and peer into the library from the war room.

You hear it before you see it. The whiz of something flying right at you. You quickly move only to see an angel blade get stuck into the wall behind you. You slowly turn to the person who threw it with deadly black eyes, and Sam stands there with wide eyes. He really thought that was going to work. You use your demonic powers on Sam and throw him across the entire library into the telescope in the back. Dean steps out from behind a bookshelf but you’re way ahead of him. 

You teleport to right behind him and put both hands on either side of his head. He’s forced to his knees as you use your powers to burn his brain. His yells of pain are what cause Sam to push back his pain to help his brother.

“Dean!” Sam yells and starts to run at you.

You let go of Dean only to blast Sam into one of the concrete pillars. You keep him suspended in the air and turn to Dean who is now standing up. You don’t give him time to attack you and pin him to another pillar effortlessly. You slowly make a fist with your right hand and both brothers’ chests close up as if there is something weighing heavily on them.

“There’s a third one. Where is Castiel?” you ask.

Before they have a chance to answer, you’re tackled to the ground by the angel. His eyes glow bright blue with the more grace he’s using to subdue you. You smirk up at him completely unaffected by his efforts to stop you. Your eyes switch from their normal color to pitch black so you can let him know he’s not the one in charge.

“You’re no match for me,” you growl.

You reach into your pants pocket and grab a fistful of the powder you created to subdue angels. You shove the powder into his eyes and watch as it starts to burn him from the inside. Castiel cries out in pain and falls back, and you get up without a scratch on you. You lift the angel into the air and blast him into the war room, over the war table, and into the metal staircase. He hits it so hard that he actually bends the metal out of shape.

You turn back to the brothers who are still suspended in the air and grab a knife from one of your thigh holsters. You run the blade over Sam’s chest and press hard enough to draw blood. He tries not to let it show how much you’re hurting him even though you know it’s pretty painful. You move to Dean and do the same thing so they both have matching wounds.

“I’ve been waiting a long time to get you three completely at my mercy.”

“Who the fuck are you?” Dean gasps.

“You don’t know me but you know my father. Does Asmodeus ring a bell to any of you?” you ask angrily. Sam and Dean have a look of recognition across their faces. “You three will pay for his death. I’ll make it rain blood.”

You slash Sam and Dean again, this time on their legs.

“Asmodeus was the bad guy,” Castiel says from behind you. 

His eyes are red from the powder but he’s fighting through the pain to try and appeal to your humanity. You turn to Castiel with red-hot angry eyes.

“He was my father!” you yell. “He loved me and you killed him!”

You take the angel blade from your boot and throw it at Castiel as hard as you can. The angel blade impales Castiel’s shoulder and throws him into the wall so that the blade is stuck in the wall as well. He shouts in pain but he isn’t going anywhere. You turn to the older Winchester and grab his throat tightly with black eyes, and you unsheath one of your knives.

“Any last words?”

“We didn’t kill him,” Dean struggles to get out.

“Yes, you did! I saw you three leave the scene of the crime. He died here! I went to find him only to see but ash where he stood.”

“It wasn’t us,” Dean gasps when your hand gets tighter. “It was Gabriel, the archangel.”

False memories filter through your brain making you confused.

“Do not lie to me!”

You cut his brother as repentant for Dean’s lies.

“We’re not lying. Asmodeus kidnapped Gabriel and tortured him for his grace. He was chugging the stuff to get more powerful.”

You let go of Dean’s neck and take a step back from him.

“No, you’re lying to me. My dad was loving and caring.”

“He was a psycho maniac who only cared about power,” Sam bites out. “He was manipulating you into thinking he loved you.”

The memories you have of your dad being loyal and loving are replaced with memories of the truth. Your father trained you and helped you hone your powers to make you more powerful only to steal a bit of power each and every day. No, he was a loving father. Then why are you having these memories replaced? Has he been manipulating you even after he died? Your magic is released on Sam and Dean so they fall to the ground in heaps of coughs and groans. You cry out in pain and clutch your head tightly.

“Stop putting these memories in my head!”

“We’re not the ones doing it. Your dad was evil but you don’t have to be,” Sam says gently. “You can choose a different path than he did.”

You’re even more confused now. You don’t immediately want to kill them because you’re confused as to who your father really was. In order to determine that, you need to go back and look into his life through the victims he had and the people he associated with.

“What have I done?” you whisper fearfully.

Castiel grabs the handle of the angel blade and yanks it out of the wall with his incredible strength.

“You were manipulated. You didn’t know what you were doing,” Sam says.

“I’m so sorry,” you cry and back away from them.

You quickly leave the Bunker to rethink your entire life’s purpose. Everything you thought you knew is a complete lie. You have no idea who you are anymore.

Hello, I really love your perspective on SPN.How much of the incestuous undertones do you think were intentional (obviously the writers are aware of some of it with the erotically codependent line)? And also how much do you think the general viewerbase (not fandom) picked up on back when the show was coming out?

I think the vast majority of the incestuous undertones were intentional and that spn is the 7 Minutes of Incest Show, if not from day one, then certainly at least from season one. Kripke and Gamble both called it "the epic love story of Sam and Dean" and Jensen has called it a love story about two brothers. The number one major theme of the show over its whole run is the way love, abuse, and horror in families run together and interact, and an act of vertical, nonconsensual incest (Mary and Azazel's kiss) is the first domino through which the entire rest of the plot occurs. Kripke was asked by Standards and Practices if he'd be willing to remove it and he declined. That suffocating feeling of someone loving you enough to do anything for you, but also anything to you, and how that's an unacknowledged aspect of familial love--all of that is all over the text and has to be intentional. It's too blatant, omnipresent, and barely even given plausible deniability, to not be.

That said, I also think there was no intent at all that Sam and Dean be interpreted as actually banging each other or even interested in banging each other. The risque jokes are just risque jokes. They practically write themselves even had both the writers' room and the set not apparently been inhabited mostly by people with the sense of humor of twelve year old boys (which I'm not complaining about--I too have the sense of humor of a twelve year old boy and find most of the jokes hilarious). The weird interest in each others' sex lives is just the same over-investment they have about every other aspect of each other's lives. And the more serious romantic/sexual overtones imo are there to reinforce the platonic/emotional love story, not tell a separate one.

R.e. how much did the general audience (GA) notice it, I have no idea tbh. My guess is probably not much, because the GA is there to be entertained, not think too hard about every little detail like we do in fandom. Spn is a very vibes-based show and one can easily absorb the vibes for entertainment purposes without thinking too hard about what they mean.

And to be blunt, people in general have a metric fuckton of practice not noticing irl incest while pretending to be vigilant about and horrified by it, so why would they notice it in a fictional setting where the love between the (emotionally) incestuous family members is ultimately redemptive and always saves the day? That's a pretty hard disjuncture to face squarely imo. Not looking away is a learned skill that most of us have no specific reason that we know of to learn, and it's in many ways an awful experience learning it, so why would most of us bother? I've never specifically asked a GA member about the incest piece in particular, but my spouse, who is a GA member, didn't notice that spn is particularly rapey and didn't notice that Lucifer had canonically raped Sam, even though Spouse has a long and sometimes complicated marital history with a rape survivor.

hello hello hello !!! this recent chapter has been one of my favorites so far and I squealed so much more than normal and that’s a RECORD. here is my sacred question; was azazel genuinely afraid of jophiel during the wall slam scene at first? because the panels that I’m seeing I seriously can’t tell if they’re Love Struck or Horror Struck. could be both, really—

hello! I've been reading your content and as someone who considers themselves a both Sam and Dean girl, it feels like a breath of fresh air. I feel like samgirls watering down Sam's bad traits are what makes him less enjoyable, because the brothers are supposed to be foils of each other (or at least I see them that way). Both of them have good and bad traits but Sam's bad traits are most dominant in him and Dean's good traits most dominant in him. I think that Sam is a creative way to make an unreliable narrator and defeats the "good Protagonist fights evil in an evil spooky world". Although Dean will always be my favorite out of the two, Sam's moral greyness is key to the story and by trying to make him a helpless victim than the sick little murder man he is, it's like...they are missing the point of the show. One of the main themes I've seen in the show is that nothing is as it seems, Dean looks like the rugged older brother who's got murder on his mind (especially when you read Kripke's original concept for him) but he's actually sweet and trying to save everyone. Sam looks like the cute younger brother who could do no wrong and is just an awkward nerd, but is capable of murdering people without remorse.

I also wanted to ask what your take would be if Sam was the older brother and Dean was the younger brother. A part of me wants to say that it'll just be the same plot but just switching the roles, but that doesn't sound right.

@ your question—hmm… I suppose it depends on how much you believe nature vs nurture shapes people. I would say a lot about Sam’s character is defined by his status as the younger sibling in a childhood neglect situation and a lot about Dean’s character is defined by his status as an older sibling in a neglect situation. A lot of how Dean feels is shaped by the perception that he has control in situations where he has no control, starting from childhood parentification. A lot of how Sam feels is shaped by the perception that he has no control, originating from childhood where he was dragged from place to place without knowing why for much of his formative years, and was often very isolated and alone (i.e. when John took Dean with him on hunts (11.08), or sent Dean away for pissing him off (14.12)).

On the other hand, I also think the demon blood storyline still happening to Sam and not Dean might potentially have interesting effects on John’s treatment of them, if you believe that Sam being coddled a little more (ex: not being allowed to hunt until he was older) isn’t just a function of Sam being the baby of the family but is also due to a special concern associated with his connection to Azazel. This in turn makes the nurture aspect even more fuzzy.

I agree with you though I don't think it would be exactly the same story just switching roles. I think there are also some nature aspects to this like I think Dean's role in the narrative being To Care About People (#dean the narrative heart) is probably something that transcends his upbringing, though obviously we can connect aspects of his upbringing to that role. And you have the age old question of whether Sam's feelings about purity are truly a function of childhood neglect, or whether his belief that he isn't clean literally comes from the demon blood (though personally I'm team neglect).

Personally, I don't see any of the main crew getting picked off, but then again, I didn't think Demon King! Rin was actually going to show up in his sweat pants so like... I'm just as scared as everyone else is.

I do think there will be some deaths though! And I'm hoping to see a few revives as well.

So from theories I've seen going around:

Renzou Shima has had major death flags on him for a while. This is probably just Kato trolling us though. I don't see any benefit coming out of his death anyways (snore) just kidding I love Renzou please don't die

Shiemi has said things that raised major death flags in the latest chapters, however, she's also under the protection of the Protagonist's Favored One's Halo, so unless Kato is a true masochist, I don't see her staying dead if worst comes to worst

Bon, probably also Kato's troll. Konekomaru is protected by the Cat Name Haver's Halo.

Izumo is in too much of a dire need for a glow-up to die.

Yukio is... cursed by the Protagonist's Favored One's Halo. Or at least he was but Rin feels a bit distracted lately. He'll live, but at What Cost? Couldn't say (probably a lot).

The Adults: Neuhaus is probably going to die. Shura might come close, but she'll hang in there so she can attend Rin's graduation. Lucy Yang might die. Lewin is favored by the author so I hope that means he's safe. Angel is not favored by the author so I really don't want to think about what's going to happen to him. Osceola better not die bc I need Rin to become his apprentice. Shiemi's mom is close to dying but I really hope she doesn't.

The Demons: I don't care either way so I never really thought about it (sorry demon lovers). If anything, it's more likely that we'll see demons that have crystalized, revive (Azazel, Armumahael, Shemihaza, Satan).

Also on a similar note, the demon eaters plot point was never fully resolved. Todou "died" off screen so unless Kato totally forgot about him, he's due for a comeback.

It's also interesting that Paku and Godaiin were focused on in the glimpse into the future. Nemu Takara also stayed back and is presumably still alive in that future, and those 3 from the kid's table still need to come back into the story. I doubt any of them will die ;w; that'd be too sad.

Jeremiah might die.

Dragulescu (??? idk how to spell his name) better die.

Other Illuminati: uhhh maybe the Lundstroms? I like Homare and I think she'll have something to do with Lucifer changing his mind about things. Lucifer isn't the main villain anyways so he's probably safe.

Rin... I don't think he'll be the same at the end of the manga, so to me, that counts as dying. Rin and Demon!Rin still haven't resolved their differences. Rin will have to choose a side, or face being forever unstable. But choosing will change him. Right now, he's living as 2 alter-egos/split personality. We've never seen him truly whole, and from the glimpses we have seen, he's kind of scary.
