HAHAHAHA, I should clarify that I just mean for super hero-y ones. I mostly watch the first one and rarely watch the second (or anything after...... or remakes, lol), I think the only Marvel one I've seen in recent history is Thor: Ragnarok. Actually, the Spider-man franchise pretty much encapsulates how I interact with Marvel properties: I saw the first trilogy because it was new and exciting at the time, then they remade it too fast and I refused to pay for something I just saw, that was so recent in my memory from the release date I could still remember exact scenes from it (THERE WERE ONLY FIVE YEARS BETWEEN SPIDER-MAN 3 AND THE REBOOT - THAT IS NOT ENOUGH TIME FOR ME TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT AGAIN. HOW IS THAT ENOUGH TIME FOR ANYONE TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THAT AGAIN???), then I watched the first Tom Holland one (fourteen years I can vibe with) and nothing that followed because that's generally when the gimmicks and cameos start in lieu of good story-telling, or they make it dark and gritty because that's the only way to ground this superhuman, right (I assume a random white guy: "Should we fridge a lady? Yeah, we should probably fridge a lady"). The first one generally at least tries to have a soul because they have to introduce the character and make you care about them but many of the ones that follow (the few I've seen from when the MCU was just starting out and I had hope *coughs*Iron Man 2, Thor 2, etc.*coughs*) are just cash grabs that don't try because you already love this character and there they are, right there, so money please!

Have three sharks and an unnecessary (probably stupid expensive) dinosaur intro that is nearly completely irrelevant to the story but that you will also not want to live without and for an extra special bonus: oblivious husbands and their brilliant daughter. Like. You got me nailed, my dude. Will watch every subsequent sequel, no questions asked.

you know, as time goes on, there are characters and storylines in DA that i really didn't vibe with at first but that i really like now. i got older, my tastes changed, the way i look at things in general has shifted.

but the one thing that i haven't evolved out of hating is fenris in the blue wraith comic. i hate it. i hate iiiiiiit. i hate the character writing. i dislike the art style. i loathe his haircut. i hate that rather than allow fenris to have demonstrated growth and think fondly of his time with his friends in kirkwall, they decided to have him go "people are nice until they don't need you and then they fuck off again", like, christ, did the writer not at minimum watched a handful of the shitbillion gameplay and cutscene and banter videos that fenris is in, like it's one thing if you get contracted to write this comic and you don't have time to play the game but it is not that hard to watch a couple youtube videos even if fenris is hawke's rival he makes friends regardless alkadsfkljhdasfew

i hate it so much that i genuinely hope that fenris doesn't appear in DA4, because i don't want to see this version of the character in a mainstream installment and i don't know how much communication there is wrt:characterization between the people writing the comics and the people who'd be writing his hypothetical cameo appearance in the game. let him stay in the comics where i can ignore him, please.

Having three concurrent notebooks at a time will do that #I'm used to only having two at a time but I think three is going to become my new regular #One for sketches - studies and random concepts and scribbly comics to be cleaned up in SAI at a later time #One for more finished paper art - not necessarily Fancy but lineless y'know lol a bit more proper as far as I'm concerned #And then a true free for all lol anything allowed! Basically a stream-of-consciousness captured to page #For now I've got the latter two covered I'm currently vetting the slightly-more-focused lined notebook #It was from a bit ago and I was being silly at the time haha but the first one is from a new brand I'm testing out #It feels good! It's grippy but not in a scratchy way and it accepts graphite and pigment well #I haven't tested pen bleed yet tho that'll be next on my list #The second is an old standby - not my favourite but one that is very easy to acquire and I know what to expect of it #It's also the same as my free-for-all notebook but that's really neither here nor there lol - I'm not likely to mix them up #The only thing I've really noticed so far is the new brand takes a bit more cleaning because its margin line bleeds a bit more than normal #It's not bad but I can see it getting annoying - pros and cons #The second two are just normal sona thoughts #I miss my spider.
