update i'm high i put on the album i'm on track TWENTY-THREE (!!!) and it's bad. this is one of the worst things i've ever heard. it's not even catchy-bad, it's regular-bad

i know this is a hard thing to accept because we think of classic diva celebrities as being from another time and our current ones not feeling as "legit" bc they're too modern to us

however

taylor swift is one of the musical divas of our generation, not just because her music is absolutely goddamn everywhere, but because her personal life is an absolute mess and she wants to tell us about it so bad. just a complete trash fire of a love life. she's her generation's madonna, middling acting career and all, and future generations will look back on her life as a complete and absurdly well-documented narrative.

what i mean to say is that her new album being (1) about a shitty guy she was enamored with the entire time she was in her last long-term relationship, only to break up with him after a month and then almost immediately get into an entirely different relationship, making her old short relationship with an asshole basically irrelevant in the mainstream conversation long before the album for it came out, and (2) overly long and terrible is hilarious and absolutely iconic

this is like 100% petty all things considered but i just can’t wait until some of u learn that it is absolutely normal for people of any age to refer to their dads as “daddy” in many parts of the south like it isn’t a red flag there. 60 year old women in my family still refer to their dads as “daddy.” and btw i think anyone should be allowed to call their own fathers whatever they want without someone either making it nasty or being accusatory like don’t you get tired of making ppl uncomfortable for no reason
