The Ending
“Oi, Putri..”
“Yes?”
“Ya run dis place, right?”
“More or less…”
“Well! Can ya make an executive fuckin’ order ta install some cell tower, now!?” Iyabo barked, raising her phone in the air in a desperate attempt to find a signal. “Urgh! Ya gotta be kiddin’, outta all te times ta get no service-!”
“Oh! I’ll check my phone!” Fay piped up, searching her pockets, fumbling but finding nothing in the end. In her other free hand was a laptop she found in her holding cell and decided to take with her, unbeknownst to Fay, Chiaki resided inside of it. Fay began to pout, leaning over to Leigh. “Pst! I can’t find my phone, do you have one…?” She asked in a whisper.
Leigh pouted sadly. “No.. I don’t have a phone…” They sniffled.
“This is horrible! We’re gonna be stuck on this shitstain of an island forever now!” Hiyoko whines with teary eyes and an upset scowl. “A-All because you idiots can’t find a phone booth!”
“You’re welcome to search for one yourself, Hiyoko.” Aditi commented, entering the scene while still carrying an unconscious Miu in her arms.
“Audi! Jesus- what the hell happened to you guys!?” Hajime asked with genuine concern, hovering next to her like an overprotective mother hen.
“Me and the robot sat down and had a wonderful game of chess…” Aditi grumbled sarcastically, whipping some blood from the corner of her mouth. “Have you found a way to return home yet?”
“Not exactly..” Finn commented gently, realizing Iyabo was in too frazzled of a state to answer properly. He was more worried about her getting too frustrated and throwing the phone in the ocean.
Angie had her hands clasped together in prayer, humming and focusing all of her energy. “Atua, if you can hear Angie now… we are in a great time of need. Could you perhaps send us a savior of sorts? Another god? A ship? Perhaps a plane?? Both! Atua says he will give us both!” She brightens.
“Oh yea? Why don’tcha ask yer god where te fuck they are then, huh!? ‘Cause ‘m not seein’ it!” Iyabo growled at the artist, who merely shrugged in response. “Can ya take this seriously!? If we don’t get outta ‘ere, we could become fuckin’ war prisoners! Do ya want that, airhead-!?”
While everyone else was bickering, Ivy had been off to the side. One arm was wrapped around her sister, who had once again gone catatonic. The other was outstretched, with her hand holding up a faintly glowing red cube. The cube spun in the air, occasionally collapsing in on itself before reforming. Then, in a flash of red, it vanished, but not before sending out something akin to a dying message. Letting her arm fall, Ivy whispered to herself.
"...I trust in you, Paff. Bring us home…"
In that exact moment a plane flew right over their heads at incredible speeds, the noise of the engine so loud that conversing was impossible for a couple of seconds, the small plane turning around and circling over the island.
“AHOYYY!” A voice called out excitedly. From the same direction the plane came from, a small ship appeared, coming directly at them. At the top a familiar man standing.
“Is everyone alright?! We’re ‘ere ta pick ya landlubbers up!” It was Drake, waving at the group with his hooked hand, grinning widely. And he came with a whole cavalry of familiar faces, all there for the rescue mission.
Aditi and Iyabo gawked at their sudden appearance, while Putri began jumping up and down violently and waving her arms. “Here!! Heeeerreeee!! You’re here!!!” She squealed happily.
“Nyahaha! You see, Atua never disappoints!” Angie proclaimed with a big smile, pointing at the crusade here to save them.
Drake grinned, yelling back: “Of course! We’ve been lookin’ fer ya the whole time!” He turned, informing his crew: “Get ready. We’re ‘bout to dock.”
The plane stopped its high circling after finally finding a nearby spot to land, probably causing a lot of commotion but at least landing smoothly, the hatch opening and revealing a very familiar pilot, taking off his helmet and jumping out, asking: “Is everyone alright?! We should leave as fast as possible!”
The boat docked successfully and Drake made his way down the bridge, ordering: “Quick, ‘fore we be spotted. We gotta set sail quickly!”

SPY WHAT THE ✨ FUCK ✨
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Y-Yea, wot te fuck!?” Iyabo practically shouted, backing away from Spy and Monokuma’s remains as quickly as possible, nearly fumbling into Vanessa in the process. “Where te fuck is everyone else!? Wot happened!?” She demanded.
Tumblr media
“You were the one working for the bear, seriously?” Putri puffed up in an attempt to seem bigger, though a nervous bead of sweat was visible on her brow.
Tumblr media
"What the hell?!" Hiyoko exclaimed, glaring at Spy. "I'm seriously gonna bop you on the head if you don't explain!" She threatened, yet as she pointed at him her hand trembled gently. She was just as afraid as everyone else.. scared of the possibility the barrel of the gun would be pointed her way next.
Tumblr media
“...what Putri said. Turns out I had to work for that fucking child’s toy. Run things on the inside. Whoop-de-fucking-do.” Spy grabbed his empty pistol off the podium, holstering it. “I’m fairly certain the system’s undergoing some sort of critical failure, though, so it’s disconnecting people. Not sure why we’re the last ones, but hey, gives me time to talk, I guess.”
Tumblr media
"You're not very enthusiastic about this." Hajime pointed out, quickly noticing his distaste towards Monokuma and working with him. "If I'm correct, you didn't want to be the mastermind here.. or rather, you're not the real mastermind." He explained, hoping it would calm the nerves of everyone. "Everyone faded away because this is a simulated killing game. There's someone else making Spy do this."
“Jeez, was it that obvious? Then again, this isn’t your first rodeo.” Spy chuckled, calmly tugging the bottom of his hoodie. “I will say, though. You’re probably not the only one to figure that out. The simulation, that is. You did notice Ivy rubbing the wall, right? Running her hand across it? If not, well, I did. The walls are smooth. Far too smooth. Not the kind of thing you’d find at a real hotel. I’m not sure if she came to the conclusion that it’s computer generated, but I wouldn’t be surprised if she did.” He leans against his podium. “As for the mastermind thing, well, you’re right. I’m fairly certain you all know who it is.”
Putri glared around at the walls, frustrated she couldn’t notice a detail that small. Her mind was too wrapped up in the trial and focusing on keeping Aditi calm. She knew who he was referring to. If it were true, they needed to move quickly and get out of there as fast as possible. “... Damnit.” She growled, looking left to right frantically. “How do we get out? We have to get out of here! Now!”
“Slow down, I-I ain’t done askin’ ‘im questions!” Iyabo interjected, snarling at the shorter girl to stay put. She turned back to Spy, uneasy but trying to keep steady. “... Why te fuck didn’t we evaporate too? Was it- just, random..?”
Spy shrugged. “I don’t know, actually. We’re probably gonna get disconnected soon, though. Just a matter of how long the system has left in the tank. Speaking of which... I think someone launched a cyberattack on the killing game. Would explain the critical failures.”
“But, who?” Iyabo rebutted, frustrated by the lack of clear meaning. “Who wants ta stop this thing from playin’ out? Is someone tryin’ ya help us..? Or-“ She startled when she felt her foot nearly slip on something. Looking back, she could see the world around them evaporating, closing in on them inch by inch. “Jesus fuck! Uh-!” She looked to the others for support, clearly unable to keep up.
Putri took initiative, reaching out and taking Iyabo’s hand, and then Hiyoko’s in her other. “It’s going to be fine, it’s going to kick us out of the simulation. When it does, we have to get out of wherever we are being held and escape. O.. Okay?”
Hiyoko nodded firmly, gaining her confidence knowing they all could gang up on a common enemy. "First we shod totally rip the fingernails off whoever did this to us!" She said with a sadistic grin, pulling her free hand to her face as she snickered.
Hajime however stared towards the rapidly approaching endless sea of white. It was familiar, but never comforting. He couldn't help the dread of realizing he knew nothing about what was on the other side of this simulation. What would he wake up to? Whatever it was, he could only hope it was better than last time.

Hajime, Putri, Hiyoko.. what the hell is happening?
Tumblr media
“I-I don’t know! Don’t ask me!” Putri claimed, clearly uneasy and swinging her head from side to side. “W-Where’s my goddess? Where did she go!? Where are the others!?” She demanded.
Tumblr media
“Hi, uh, yea, ‘m ‘ere too, dickhead!” Iyabo barks, trying not to stumble over her own two feet to get some distance between her and the others. She couldn’t comprehend the situation any better it seemed.
Tumblr media
"We have to relax." Hajime chipped in. "We'll never come to a rational explanation if we panic. I'm sure the others are fine."
Tumblr media
“Shut te fuck! Don’t tell me ta be calm! They just fuckin’ faded away right in front of us! Are ya mad!? Who would stay calm ‘bout this!?”

Ivory slipped through the doorway and closed it tightly, careful not to make a sound. He needed to make haste. Of course, he planned for things to go wrong, always needing to stay one step ahead. But, he wanted to retrieve one more thing before making his escape. Or, better said, someone.
Tumblr media
Immediately he was greeted by the sound of soft sobbing. Turning his head towards the noise, he could plainly see the source. Putri sat upwards, the helmet prison that kept her in the simulation thrown to the side, while she covered her face with her hands. Ivory’s face softened at the sight, approaching quietly and placing a hand on her shoulder. “Winifred. Are you-?” He began.
Tumblr media
Putri was quick to react, jumping and shoving his hand off of her. She looked up with a beat red face, eyes shining with tears, yet the anger behind them was visible. “Don’t touch me.” She warned, voice wavering with emotion.
“I-“ Ivory bit his lip, sighing. “You know I never wanted to hurt you. Your simulation wasn’t programmed to kill you, unlike the others. I wouldn’t put you in harms way.” He promised, crouching down to her eye level in an attempt to be seen as equal.
“I.. I don’t care..” Putri shook her head, choking on her tears. “We... this... this didn’t need to happen. N-None of it. Why? Why did you take it this far? You’re mad...”
“Perhaps. But, you’re no better.” Ivory commented, nonchalantly with a sense of certainty in his eyes.
Putri looked him in the eyes with disgust at that remark, releasing a shaky breath. “... I want my friend back. I-I miss how you were when we were young, Vee.” Ivory felt his heart skip when she used that old childish nickname. “I don’t w-want this anymore..”
“... I know. I know you don’t.” Ivory agreed, reaching out to her once again, his time taking one of her hands in his own. “Everything can be as it once was, Winifred. This madness can all be put to rest, I promise it! We can rebuild this land from the bottom up once again. Create a legacy to be proud of, as we were always meant to. All I need is..” He squeezed her noticeably smaller hand in his palm, looking to meet her gaze pleadingly. “Come with me?”
“With you...?”
“Yes. We can forget about these people, let them flee, let them go. They won’t matter. All that matters is you. Only you.” He nodded, completely sure of himself, searching her eyes for an answer. “Please..?”
Putri stared back for a long moment, unsure of how to respond. Her features relaxed however, and Ivory recognized this as a good sign. The dancer’s hand moved up to wrap around his shoulders, pulling him forward into a hug.
This startled him terribly. How long had to been since they hugged? Gods, since they were children? He felt idiotic, on his knees and stalling from such a simple display of affection. He finally returned the hug, resting his chin on her shoulder with a sigh, closing his eyes to bask in the moment. This was all he wanted. How could this have gone any better? Putri was here and her arms around his neck protected him from the cold, and if he had it his way, he’d never let go. Never again.
Wait... the cold. Ivory felt the breeze on the back of his neck as Putri began to pull away, revealing a devilish smile painted on her face. In her hand, laced with pieces of his long green hair, was her bronze dagger. She...
He hurriedly felt the back of his neck, finding no long hair to brush his fingers through any longer. Looking down in horror, he saw exactly what he feared. His hair, the very symbol of his power in Eventus, lying on the floor like common garbage, tossed aside without a care. He choked on air, looking back to his childhood friend who was laughing hysterically, eyes swirling with madness. “I’ll never love you. Not now. Not ever. You’re nothing anymore, Ivory. Nothing.” She hissed with enough venom to physically bite him.
“... Y-You...” Ivory croaked pathetically, shoulders shaking with the loss of control. She fooled him, used his weakness for her as a weapon, made him look like a fool. His hair was gone. His nobility was shattered. The betrayal finally sank in to his mind. And with that, came the explosion. “You.. little wench-!!” He screeched.
Putri’s laughter was interrupted by being slammed down by the throat to the table that held her captive during the simulation. She gasped, kicking her feet and scratching at his hand desperately for air. “I’m nothing!? Please! You’re below dirt, Putrid. You always have been. You always will be. You dare shame me like this-!? After everything I’ve done for you!? I threw my life away for you and your disgusting obsession with that beast of a woman! You’re through! I’m done pleading for your willingness!” He leaned down closer to the dancer, an equally as insane grin that matched hers from before. “You’re not getting away from me again. Ever.”
The door flew open at that very moment, a flash of yellow sprinted up to Ivory and promptly kicked Ivory viciously in the legs. “Get your hands off of her, you overgrown piece of seaweed!!” Hiyoko screeched, punching Ivory once he keeled over from the pain. Ivory reeled from this, his grip on Putri releasing, hissing and grabbing his assailant by the collar of her bright kimono. “Touch me again, you wretch, I dare you-!” He yelled back, raising his free hand with the shining silver talon, ready to strike.
“Hiyoko! I told you not to run off! Where-!” Ivory looked up to the sound of the familiar voice, greeted by the sight of Hajime stopping dead in his tracks in the doorway. The pair glared at one another with enough tension to snap a pen in half. “Oh, please..” Ivory threw Hiyoko to the side with a thud, leaving both the short dancers in pain and trying to regain their breath. “Damsels can’t save other damsels, dear. Why don’t you-”
A flash of light. A crash of thunder. In an instant, someone else had shown up beside Hajime. Ivory would feel a sharp burning pain in his right shoulder, and a glance would reveal an entry and exit wound. He’d been shot.
To Hajime’s right stood the man forced to run the game, a friend of the first and only killer. With cold, red eyes, Spy was aiming a now smoking pistol at Ivory, this time trained near center mass. “Away from them. Now.”
Ivory hissed even louder when shot in the shoulder. He fell backwards and scrambled away quickly, one hand holding his shoulder while the other helped to pull himself away as quickly as possible. Spy’s threat was clear enough, even if he tried, Ivory would likely not reach Putri or Hiyoko without a massive amount of pain. “Ahah.. ha…” He chuckled in a clear panic. “You.. you think.. You think I’m finished with you all? No.. no, not even close-! You’re not taking her from me again, not you or anyone!”
Hajime flinched at the gunshot sound, backing away out of instinct, but the scene before him was almost too good to pass up, at least gloating. “You’ve got a big mouth for someone bleeding out.”
“Shut up! Quiet! All of you!” Ivory screeched like a madman, clutching his shoulder harder and harder to stop the blood flow. Baring his teeth like any angry animal, he leapt to verbally assault Hajime, but was cut off but rubble filling his view and a loud crashing noise.
From the room right next door, the wall caved in with Aditi and Pixel falling through in the midst of their battle for dominance. The two had their fingers locked together, appendages and metal claws trying to overpower the other, when Aditi looked up and locked eyes with Spy and Hajime in the doorway. “Move!” She called out, before promptly picking Pixel up and slamming her against the wall. The sound of metal crushing and a robotic scream of pain echoed in the room. Ivory looked up in a panic at the scene, before looking towards his only escape route, a balcony. Aditi stood right in front of the doorway, holding Pixel in place and blocking Spy’s clear shot.
With a smirk tossed in their direction, Ivory stood up and ran off towards the opening, shifting over the railing with his legs. Still clutching his shoulder, Ivory smiled back at the group, barely catching Putri’s eyes as she finally raised her head to glare at him. “.. I’ll be back for you, Putrid. Don’t fret.” He promised, before sliding off the railing and landing on the balcony below, making a run for it.
Putri sucked in a painful breath, gritting her teeth and feeling the choking mark around her throat. “.. Damnit…”

The collar spent a moment on the floor, before it is yanked back through the opening, bringing air with it. Salient, the intended target, had completely vanished without a trace. It was as if he was never even there. With him gone, the trial would come to an unusual end. There's no one to execute. No blackened to punish. Everything just... stalled.
“..... Wot?” Iyabo blurted out, breaking the silence after staring at the spot where Salient once stood. “That’s not ‘posed ta happen, right..?” She took a step back, looking to her left and noticing that Finn was gone now as well. “Eh!? Finn? Finn..! Ya bloody sheepdog where’d ya go!?” She asked aggressively, unnerved by the quiet.
Putri stared as Fay faded away from existence in her corner while crying, blinking in surprise. “... Something is amiss.” She bit her lip, rapidly looking at the rest of the group to tell who would be next or if it would grind to a halt.
Wren was gripping at their hair, unable to process what was going on. They let out forced chuckles, not sure how to react to the current situation. Then, they too vanished.
Hiyoko watched in awe as one by one everyone disappeared. "W-What the hell is going on?!" She yelled, hugging herself as a small form of comfort. She looked around anxiously to whoever would be next. Right before her eyes, a confused Leigh vanished from sight, only making her freak out more.
Hajime was just as freaked out, his eyes darting to everyone wondering just what was happening. He hated not knowing what was going on... "What- how is this..?" He stammered, stumbling back anxiously.
Angie looked up with teary eyes, her expression one of surprise until she looked down at her fading body as well. “Ah... it is my time...” The artist clasped her hands together in prayer as she fell into oblivion.
Vanessa practically threw herself at Ivy, clinging onto her as if her life depended on it. For a moment, she could feel Ivy embracing her in return. Then, she felt herself hit the ground. “...I-Ivy...?” Looking up, she saw no trace of her sister. After taking a moment to process it all, she cried out in anguish, before her hands went to cover her sobbing face.
Miu gawks in horror as everyone disappears one by one, only to begin to feel her arms going numb themselves. She looked down and felt her heart sink. She was fading away. “N-No... no, no, no...” She repeated, stumbling forward to the nearest person, clinging onto them for dear life. This person so happened to be Hajime. “I-I don’t wanna go, I can’t go yet-! I-I’m not-! I-I-! I-I never got to-!” She sputtered out desperately with tears streaming down her face, but it was too late. Miu was gone.
Hajime stood in awe, staring wide eyed at where Miu was. He blinked back his own tears, but that's when it hit him. He knew how this was possible. The only question left was.. what await him when he too disappeared? He had a feeling about what it could be.
Ryan sighed, glancing down at himself. He was the next to fade out. “...I’m sorry, Almy.” A tear falls down his face and hits the ground as he disappears. A notebook follows suit, before that too disappears.
Aditi blinked her surprise away, looking down at her now ghostly hands. “I’ve eluded you a while..” She mumbled in reference to death itself. The only thing she did was look to Hajime and nod, as if handing over the torch for him to solve this himself. And, she faded away last.
Tumblr media
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?! How am I supposed to continue now!? Help me out here, man! This wasn't supposed to-"
A gunshot interrupts Monokuma's rant. The bear slams against the back of his throne, before falling forward. A bullet hole is plain to see on his red eye.
Tumblr media
Spy stared at where Monokuma once sat, aiming a now smoking pistol at the throne. After a moment, he let his arm drop, before unloading the firearm and placing it on his podium.
"...honestly? Fuckin' hated working for the guy."

OwO whatcha got Spy?
Tumblr media
Spy doesn’t respond, still searching through his pockets. He then reaches into his inner jacket pockets, then lays a few shards of...something on his podium.
Tumblr media
"Do you really expect us to know what those are?" Hiyoko asked with a cross of her arms. "Hurry up and tell us what that is!"
Tumblr media
"Well, they kinda look like shards of glass. Like the kind you'd find on a phone screen." Spy grabs the shards and puts them back in his pocket. "I don't think any of us have phones right now, though, so I'm guessing someone dropped a tablet."
Tumblr media
“So fucking what, glasses? Any of us could’ve had butter fingers and dropped our tablets! How is this getting us closer to the culprit exactly?” Miu sneered, placing her hands upon her hips.
"...wait." Ivy reached towards her side, but then glanced over, noticing nothing. "...fuck, I forgot I left my hoodie in my lab. Did anyone bring their motive video tablet with them here?"
“No? I didn’t know we were supposed to! The bear would’ve told us to do so, wouldn’t he!?” Putri huffed, crossing her arms in a pout, preparing to defend herself if anyone tried to tell her she was in the wrong.
"I brought mine just in case." Hajime said as he pulled out his tablet, revealing that the screen was perfectly intact. "From here on out I suggest bringing anything related to the motives just in case they get brought up in trial." Hajime advised, speaking to Putri but meaning it towards everyone.
“Shut the fuck up, nerd! Nobody asked for you to act like our daddy or some shit!” Miu mocked, glaring back at Spy. She tried to ignore how Aditi was staring through her with glowing eyes, and not even acknowledging it seemed to work best. “Why did you even bring this up in the first place if it’s so vague!? It could’ve been Maisie’s tablet, it could’ve been mine, anyone’s! You’re wasting our time!”
"Maisie's tablet is missing, Miu. The killer took it, remember?" Ryan crossed his arms, a deadpan look on his face. "If those shards came from Maisie's tablet, then we can figure out who took it based off where they were found. Speaking of which, Spy. Where did you find those shards?"
Spy cleared his throat. "Salient's lab, literally right before the trial."
Aditi frowns deeply, looking from Spy to the chemist himself. “Do you have an excuse for this one? Or can we finally assume the worst in you?"
"One moment, Aditi." Ivy steps out of her podium, going over to Hajime and taking his tablet, before going to Spy. "Let me have a look at the shards, Spy." Spy obliges, reaching into his pocket and giving Ivy the shards, after which she goes back to her podium, placing the shards and the tablet on top.
"Huhh? What are you doing bolt brain?" Hiyoko asked, leaning over her podium to see what Ivy was doing. "Are you tampering with the evidence? That's a big no-no yaknow! I'll bop you!"
"Give me a moment." Ivy picked up one of the shards, placing it on the tablet. There's a moment of silence, before she picked up another shard and held it up to her face. "...okay, I can confirm. This did come from one of the motive video tablets."
“.... What...?” Fay asked quietly at first, her eyes looking around the room before lunging forward and grabbing her podium angrily. “It’s from a tablet? Then-! It’s him! It’s obviously him! Y-You did it! You killed her!!” She practically screamed, looking towards the direction she knew Salient stood in, her eyes cloudy with tears.
After Fay's outburst, Hajime looked at Salient as well. "Salient, do you have a rebuttal?" He asked gently, as to not put any more pressure on him than there already was. "If theres any evidence that doesn't point to you I'd be happy to hear it."
Salient didn't respond, only glaring at Spy. His eyes held a murderous gaze... and those cursed swirls. Death gripping his podium, he spoke only to Spy, who stared back at him. "....you... fucking... rat!"

Salient? Your rebuttal?
Tumblr media
“...excuse me? What do you mean it was me? Yeah, I know I’m the most likely person because of the acid thing, but seriously?” Salient clearly did not take the news lightly.
Tumblr media
“Really? That scruffy head did it? Why??” Putri interjected putting pressure on the accusation at hand. She pouted, clearly not buying the claim. “He doesn’t get anything out of killing her! Why would be bend over backwards for the artist? Just because they’re friends? That’s stupid-!”
Tumblr media
"She's right! He has nothing to gain from this, so why would he kill her?" Leigh asked, leaning forward on the podium. "He wouldn't." They spat venomously, losing all nervousness.
“In self-defense.” Ivy spoke up, staring down Leigh. “We know a struggle broke out in Maisie’s room. Now, there are two possibilities. One is the obvious: Maisie fought back when the killer broke into her room. However, there was something about the knife that opens up a second possibility.”
“Who fucking cares about who had the knife!?” Miu cut in angrily, pointing an accusatory finger at Salient and Leigh. “You two fucks ride Angie’s dick like no tomorrow, of fucking course it’s one of you two! Acid Spray took his chemicals and a knife, melted the lock, and barged into her room to kill her and get Angie’s fucking video away from her. All the evidence would be gone after that!” She theorized proudly.
“Then explain how the knife only had Maisie’s fingerprints on it.” Ivy shifted her cold gaze towards Miu. “I got a look at the handle. I knew it made sense for Maisie’s fingerprints to be on it; she was gripping onto it in death, after all. However, for her fingerprints to be the only set implies something very, very different. I assume people have gone into the kitchen and taken a knife out to eat with. The odds of any of the knives having not been touched are minuscule at best. Now, this leads to one of three possibilities. One, the killer took the knife, cleaned the handle of fingerprints prior to the murder, then used gloves. Two, Maisie took the knife and cleaned the handle. Or three...the knife wasn’t taken from the kitchen at all.”
"No- I think the knife definitely was taken from the kitchen. Just maybe not by our killer." Hajime commented. "No one here has a talent that requires knives, so the kitchen is the only place to get it. Maybe Maisie got it beforehand for her own reasons... But I have a question." Hajime turned back to Salient. "Salient, your hands are in bad shape.. do you even have fingerprints?"
"..." The question caught Salient off guard. He stood silent for a moment. "...no. They were...burned off after the accident. Why is this-"
"Because only Maisie's finger prints were on the knife." He interrupted. "If you were to stab her with her own weapon, then your fingerprints wouldn't show since you don't have any. Then you wouldn't have to wipe any fingerprints off or even bother using gloves."
“It’s true. You have more of an advantage for a clean crime scene than anyone else here.” Aditi nodded, crossing her arms. “Aside from the fact anyone could’ve used the acid in your lab, nobody would know how to handle it as well as you. Which ties you into the melted door latch as well. Sadly.”
“That sounds good and all, but...” Ryan glanced over at Salient, then to Spy, who tilted his head. “...something’s still bothering me. The motive video. The killer took it with them. That is the one piece of evidence that will solve this case. But...there’s no trail for it.”
“...actually...I may have something.” Spy spoke up, before rummaging through his pockets.

Nothing, for a moment. Then, a room with a familiar layout. 17 stands. 16 people. Then, on a throne, Monokuma. The courtroom. All rise, for the trial has begun.
Tumblr media
“Hoooooooold up! We’re not starting just yet! I know some of you know how these trials go already, but for those who are unaware, let me explain!”
Tumblr media
“Alright, so you guys will vote on who you think is the culprit after the trial is over. If the blackened gets the most votes, they alone will die.”
Tumblr media
“But if they don’t get the most votes...they alone will live. They’ll get to escape the island. That is, after they get to watch everyone else die!”
Tumblr media
“Also, if the blackened finds themselves in a tied vote, they die. Tie goes to the clean, after all!”
Tumblr media
“O-Kay...” Putri muttered, looking around from her podium. “How do we even start? Do we give our guesses on who is guilty first or last? What about the votes? Will we need a ballet? Does the bear provide them!?”
Tumblr media
“Don’t think about it so much, just.... fuckin’ start! We gotta present all the clues and shit! One of you cuntbags murdered that bitch, and you’re gonna pay for it!” Miu sneered around at the group, crossing her arms angrily.
Tumblr media
With a sigh, Hajime spoke up. "How about we start with something simple to build into it?" He suggested. "How about the weapon? I think we can all agree it's the knife. But where did they get it and can we approximate what time it was taken?"
Tumblr media
“Well, considering we’ve all identified it as a kitchen knife, it was most likely taken from the kitchen.” Spy chimed in, pulling on the collar of his undershirt. “As for when it was taken, that’s a mystery. Most likely scenario is that it was taken on the same day as the murder.”
“...there’s also a chance the knife wasn’t taken at all.” Ivy hesitantly spoke up, a hint of uncertainty in her voice. “As far as I know...no one actually checked the kitchen to check if anything was missing. It’s a stretch, I know, but it’s still something to think about. Especially considering...” She trails off, her hands clasping behind her back.
Tumblr media
“Ah! That is true, we didn’t have enough time to check the kitchen, did we? How disappointing! But, we can confirm that the one who took the knife is indeed the killer, yes?” Angie suggested, looking around with sympathetic eyes. “If that is the case, then we can simply find who went to the kitchen and conclude they are the killer!”
Tumblr media
“Then...that means Hiyoko is a prime suspect. As far as I know, she’s the only one who went to the kitchen that night.” Wren sighed, shoving their hands in their pockets. “I didn’t see a knife on her as she came out, though. Also, what motive would she have to go after Maisie?”
"That's because I didn't have a knife, genius!" Hiyoko defended with a huff, crossing her arms. "I said before that I was getting gummies, that's it! I even have the wrapper in my bedroom trashcan if you wanna dumpster-dive for it!"
“You do see how pitiful of a defense that is, yes?” Aditi hummed, tapping her claws against her podium. “A wrapper is not proof of your innocence. You could have easily used it as a cover up. However, it’s unlikely that Hiyoko is the suspect, no matter how suspicious she is.”
“And why the fuck is that, Bitchclaws?” Miu asked with a scowl.
Aditi blinked at her in unamusement. “There were signs of an obvious struggle, yes? Do we honestly think someone as small and petite as Hiyoko could knock over someone as tall and graceful as Maisie?”
“They are both dancers, Aditi.” Ryan cut in, hands on the podium he stood at. “It is still unlikely, yes, but it is possible. They may be in different disciplines, but Hiyoko could theoretically keep up with Maisie.”
“Ryan, traditional dancing and exotic dancing are two very different disciplines.” Ivy questioned, hands now on her hips. “Maisie was most likely far more agile than Hiyoko is. I seriously doubt Hiyoko would be able to land a hit on her, let alone overpower her.”
Hiyoko quickly got angry, scrunching her nose as she stood on the tip of her shoes to seem taller. "I could so kick her ass if I wanted to! And I'm even more graceful than she is!" She shouted, putting her hands on her hips. "Try me! You'll be crying for your mothers after I stomp on your pathetic skulls!"

Among the ground that already stood on the sandy beach under the sun, Putri seemed the most confused. “.... Is there a reason we’re just waiting here!? How are we supposed to hold a true trial on the shoreline? You scatterbrains will be distracted by the water!”
Tumblr media
“Patience, Putri.” Aditi reminded the littler one, looking around at the group who had already arrived, anxious to keep track of all the live bodies around. They had a job to do after all. Iyabo was sulking with her back turned to everyone, not over her bitterness from Ivy flat out admitting what had happened the night before. Angie idled in place, looking out to sea and gawking at the bounty of colors. “... How do these trials work? Is there a system we must follow?”
Tumblr media
“I assume there is. The bear will probably explain it to us once we get there.” Spy was sitting down, staring out into the ocean. “Chances are there’s more to this patch of sand than meets the eye. Considering how there’s a mall of labs underneath the hotel, on this remote island...Monokuma has more up his sleeve, I know it.” In the meantime, Wren was shuffling a deck of cards to pass the time. The sound of the cards were a nice break from the crash of the waves.
Tumblr media
Salient stood a little ways away from the group, staring back at the hotel to see anyone who’s coming over. “...there’s a lot riding on this trial. One dies...or one lives.”
Tumblr media
"Wow, okay emo." Hiyoko snorted, earning a small look of distaste from Hajime. "Either way, someone's dying so you all better do your best to make sure I'm not involved in the dying part." She said with a small laugh, a cruel attempt of hiding fear.
Tumblr media
Leigh approached the group hesitantly, something seeming to be on their mind. They said nothing, however as they promptly went to stand next to Salient. They looked up at him for a moment before looking to the ground, nervously playing with their hair.
“Is this where we’re supposed to meet?” Someone called out to the crowd. It was Ivy, who was bridal carrying Vanessa. Vanessa was undoubtedly awake, but was clinging onto Ivy for dear life, head buried into the other’s chest, dead silent. “...I was expecting something more...befitting the situation.”
Spy turned back to look at Ivy and Vanessa, tilting his head. “...Vanessa doing alright?” Ivy responded with a shake of her head. Spy’s expression became one of concern. “Oh. Another time, then.”
Tumblr media
“Nobody gives a fuck how she is anyway.” Iyabo snarked loudly, uncaring of how cruel it sounded. Gasper pawed at the girl’s face, trying to cheer her up, but only got gently pushed away. Fay stood close by, her hands touch her shorter friend’s shoulders in an attempt to calm her down, only to get swatted away as well.
Tumblr media
“U-Um...” Fay started, unusually anxious. “Do any of you see the bear? Or do we have to wait on him? He’s not very punctual, huh? Heh..” She attempted to joke.
Tumblr media
“He’ll be here when he wants to be here.” Ryan sighs, looking around at the group. “...where’s Finn and Miu? Shouldn’t they be heading this way right now? Why aren’t they here yet?”
“They’ll be here soon, I’m sure of it.” Ivy glanced over at Iyabo for a moment, before putting Vanessa back on her feet. “I’m sure they have good reasons for the delay. We shouldn’t worry about it.”
"Do you think they got caught up in something?" Hajime asked no one in particular, looking towards the hotel with worry. It was clear he was worried something bad happened. "If they aren't here soon someone should go try to find them.."
“... I know ‘m quiet, but I didn’t expect ya ta not notice I was right ‘ere.” Finn suddenly spoke up, indeed he was standing nearby, admiring the ocean out of sight. “‘M ready ta go when y’all are.”
“Let fuckin’ go of me! Aaaah!!!” Miu screeched in the distance, tears in her eyes and clawing at the ground as Monokuma was literally dragging her out of the hotel and to the beach. “You can’t make me do this shit again! You can’t-! Fuck you! You stupid god damn care bear reject!” She hollered while kicking violently at the animatronic.
Tumblr media
“Too bad, so sad! You know the rules!” Monokuma ignored Miu’s struggling, and simply dragged her towards the group. Once they both got close, he just let go of Miu and walked towards everyone else. “Alright, everyone’s here now! Now...time to break ground.”
With those words uttered, the patch of beach everyone was on began to sink into the ground. A secret elevator...to parts unknown...

The door lock?
Wait, are these locks electronic, or do they open with a key?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The locks are physical. A weird design choice, considering the labs are electronically locked." Ryan takes a look at the broken lock. "...huh. Looks like someone tried to pick it, with no success."
Tumblr media
“Then how did it fall off?? I demand answers!” Putri stamps her foot in irritation, bouncing up to try and look at the broken lock a little better.
"One moment, let me take a closer look." Ivy walked over to analyze the lock, rotating it around while Ryan held onto it.
Tumblr media
“What can you see, Vee? Any new clues to the culprit? Which one of us would be an expert in breaking locks anyway??” Angie asked curiously.
Ivy doesn’t respond. At least, not immediately. But after a few more moments of silent analysis, she backs away from the lock, a somewhat puzzled look on her face. “...there’s traces of some unknown substance on it. Also...it looks like parts of the lock have been...melted through. There’s a few areas where the parts are partially liquefied.”
Tumblr media
At the discovery, Leigh seemed to freeze in place. A few moments later, however, they began nervously playing with their hair.
Tumblr media
"So it was a nerd who knows how to melt stuff right? Or was some lame-os lab open to the public and anyone could've gotten it?" Hiyoko asks, tilting her head.
Tumblr media
“None of the laboratories have locks that we can access. I investigated them. Only the bear can lock and unlock those doors it seems. Once they are opened, they seem to be permanently kept ajar.” Aditi added, giving a side glance at Leigh, almost challenging them to speak.
Tumblr media
“Hmm... the only person I can think of who would have access to substances capable of melting through locks would be Salient. He’s a chemist, so his lab probably has some strong acids that can eat through metal. Though...if what Aditi’s saying is true, that means someone could just easily break into his lab and steal what they needed.” Wren sighs, putting their hands on their hips. “So... what now?”

And who got Maisie’s video?
Tumblr media
Iyabo decided to pip up at that mention, cutting through the silence. “Not me. I got Wren’s fuckin’ secret.” She glanced around. “Is knowin’ who had ‘er secret really gonna help now? Wot could it even have been? Definitely not ‘nough ta get ‘er killed, right?”
Tumblr media
“Well, that’s easy! Let’s just tell everyone what the secrets were and clear the air!” Putri suggested, looking around suspiciously. “If we all don’t have anything to hide, then it’ll go much smoother!”
Tumblr media
“Mmm... Angie can see your point! But... that seems a bit dangerous, no?” Angie tilted her head. “If all of us know each other’s secrets, some worse than others, then we’ll only have more motives to distrust each other, yes? That’s what Monokuma wants from us! Disharmony and distrust!”
Tumblr media
“.... I get it.” Finn nodded his head, rubbing the back of his neck sheepishly. “Maybe it’s better ta not say ‘em all? Somethings are better left unsaid, right?” He cowered back at the look Iyabo shot him.
"There's arguments to be made for both sides. If we don't know, people will start to get paranoid. If we do know, then it depends on the secret. Like Angie said, some are worse than others. Like...Spy's." Ivy put a hand on her hip, sighing in disappointment. "...I thought he would be better than that..."
Tumblr media
"Then we should just stick with who got who's. Which shouldn't be too hard! Just ask, and make a list and if we get doubles someone's lying and can be counted as a suspect!" Hiyoko said proudly, knowing her idea was a good one.
Tumblr media
“Isn’t there a slight chance the murder wasn’t related to the motive videos?” Wren’s voice wasn’t confident, like they weren’t completely believing their own idea. “I mean, it’s a slight chance, but maybe the motive videos are a red herring.”
Tumblr media
“Unless someone had a personal vendetta against Maisie, then there is no other explanation to why this happened.” Aditi sighed, glancing to the corpse again. “I don’t believe anyone here hated her... unless I’m missing some information..”
Tumblr media
"I'm sure all the guys liked her, I'll tell you that." Hiyoko said with a snicker. "So it was probably some jealous chick if the motives aren't involved."

unfortunately, i'm not even sure we can trust alibis. there was a two-person conversation the night of the kill, where one person asked the other to help 'get rid of the evidence', which they agreed to... i hate to suggest this, but maybe the killer had an accomplice.
Tumblr media
“What!?” Putri gapped like a shocked fish. She whined aloud. “So we can’t even use alibis!? Then how are we supposed to figure out who it could be!?” She demanded.
Tumblr media
“It’s simple. We have to consider who would’ve worked together to plan this murder. We have to factor in relationships into the mix.” Aditi sighed. “Who would cooperate to complete a murder together..”
Tumblr media
"We also have to consider what that person would reasonably know." Hajime added, a little too knowledgeable on this kind of thing. "Like who would know to tamper with the temperature so we couldn't tell the time of death."
Tumblr media
“People with experience with bodies or a scientific talent!” Putri proclaimed. “Soooo... Me and my goddess... the doctor... the chemist... Iyabo... the inventor, maybe? People with those kind of talents!”
Tumblr media
“Why te fuck am I involved!?” Iyabo asked defensively. “I work with animals, not fuckin’ people-! I only handle bodies when they pass on an’ shit, it’s not like it’s my hobby like you two-!” She huffed accusatorially at Putri and Aditi specifically.
Tumblr media
"...considering how sloppy this was, I'm actually starting to think this wasn't planned." Ryan rubbed his chin. "Think about it. There's signs of struggle, and Maisie's fully clothed. Something tells me she wasn't planning on sleeping last night."
"...it sounds like she was expecting someone to come to her room. Why else would she be awake at the time?" Ivy's expression lit up slightly, as she started to catch on to what Ryan was insinuating. "Although...if murder wasn't the aim, what was?"
Tumblr media
"Perhaps Maisie and our killer were going to meet for whatever reason. Perhaps it's possible that she was the one planning to kill them and got killed in self defense?" Leigh asked, hoping that their theory could be correct. "That could be why it was so sloppy. They never planned to kill in the first place."
Tumblr media
“Hmm...” Ryan put a hand to his chin, lost in thought. “...that would certainly be a good explanation. Although... can someone check the door? I suspect a break-in.”
Tumblr media
“Yaha!” Angie chimes, matching back from her position at the entrance of the room, holding what looked like a lock mechanism for the door. “Angie would have to agree! There is clear evidence of a break! What do ya think, hm??”

Are there any additional wounds aside from the stab to the stomach? Or does the file not say?
Tumblr media
"I'm finished!" Leigh announced as they stood, loud enough so that everyone could hear the new information. "She died sometime last night. The room was too cold so I can't tell the exact time, but it was definitely last night." Leigh informed happily. "Also, she has a broken ankle and signs of head trauma!"
Tumblr media
“Okay, okay...” Putri gawked at the body, walking up and looking over the splatters of blood. “So! It happened during the night time! Meaning... we all need to state where we were during that time frame exactly!” Putri states happily. “Easy! I was asleep in my room, obviously!”
Tumblr media
“Aha! That’s the trick, you see?” Angie butted in, just as cheery as ever. “You see... we can’t believe you unless you have somebody to prove you were sleeping! An alibi! If nobody saw you sleeping, I’m afraid your fate is left to Atua! Nyahaha!!”
“Me and Vanessa were in my room. I had Aditi come over for something, she can attest to it.” Ivy looked over at Aditi, putting a finger over her mouth. It was a clear message. Don’t talk about it.
Tumblr media
“I saw Hiyoko head into the kitchen last night while I was practicing in the lobby. She seemed to be in a hurry.” Wren was leaning against the wall, brushing some of their hair aside. “Not sure if she noticed me, but I doubt that really matters. I don’t think it’s her.”
Tumblr media
Leigh tapped their chin in thought, remembering what they did last night. "Well, Finn helped me to my room last night so he can confirm I actually did go to my room! I suppose that would be mine." They smiled, happy that they could safely be declared innocent. "Should we go ask everyone else?"
Tumblr media
“Owa?? One moment!” Angie cuts in, teetering in place. She looks to Wren. “You said Hiyoko went to the kitchen last night? Funny, funny! Considering the murder weapon is a kitchen knife?”

What happened?!
Tumblr media
“Owa?? Someone has died already!?” Angie tilted her head from side to side childishly, getting glances of the body inside the room. “Oh no! The tall dancer has been sent to Atua’s kingdom! What a shame...”
Tumblr media
"Ugh, now all our lives are in danger. If we don't find who killed her, we all die except for them." Spy lets out an exasperated sigh, not exactly happy about the current situation. "...so where the fuck do we start?"
Tumblr media
Finn couldn’t look at the sight of Maisie’s body, turning away and cringing. “Usually ya get someone ta look at te body, right? Figure out te ‘cause of death an’ other... stuff?” He asked unsurely. “Is anyone a doctor ‘ere?”
Tumblr media
"Oh, we need a doctor?" Leigh asked, poking their head through the door. They bounced a little bit, happy to be able to assist. Until they saw Aditi, or at least her figure blocking the body. "Um.. if I could.." They added sheepishly, hoping the taller girl wouldn't be upset at their attempt to help.
Tumblr media
“Just go, you blind bat! We need your knowledge now, and only now!” Putri barked angrily, shoving Leigh forward towards the body, despite being much shorter.
Tumblr media
They stumbled forwards, trying not to trip over their own feet and ended up right behind the object of their nervousness. Gulping, they went around Aditi, praying she would pay them no mind, as they knelt next to the body to start the autopsy.
Tumblr media
Unluckily, Aditi glanced up immediately when something moved in her sight. As Leigh knelt down beside the body, she glared harshly, her eyes ablaze. After a moment of silence, she closed her eyes and sighed. “... Be quick. Don’t try anything funny. Understand?” She growled out to Leigh, begrudgingly.
Tumblr media
Leigh looked towards Aditi's voice and nodded quickly, mumbling how they didn't know how fast it would be. They almost hoped she didn't hear it, however. With confidence, they started touching the blood and probing at some of her limbs, looking for information without their sight.

Wait.. did Fay or Leigh get Maisie's secret? Hajime, what did you see when Fay showed you the video she got? This is important for the investigation, so you better not dodge the question or lie.
Tumblr media
"Right.. I suppose I can't lie about it anymore.." He sighed, knowing he'd have to tell Fay he lied eventually. "Her video was of Spy... and that he is still currently a serial killer. I didn't want her to know because the two of them are dating."
Tumblr media
“... Why wouldn’t you tell her that, stupid?? Now you have to tell her after we investigate! And she’s gonna be mad at you!” Putri pouted, scolding Hajime for lying as if she had any right to do so.
Tumblr media
"I know that.. but Fay isn't the type of person to stay mad for long." He explained, looking away in guilt. "I wanted to encourage her to tell Maisie how she felt, not make her afraid of one of her partners.."
Tumblr media
Putri huffed, shaking her head. Her gaze looked to Maisie’s corpse sitting in the corner of the room. “... Well. Now she can’t have either. Great job, genius...”

During the next morning, everyone began gathering in the dining area. In the middle of the large table given for them to sit, Putri sat proudly atop her seat and seemed to be telling a story. “And that is how I single handedly dethroned the ruler of our neighboring village! I ripped the pretty hair off of his severed head, and kept it as a trophy, to remind our new subjects of who is in charge now!”
Tumblr media
“C-Can’t you tell I’m trying to eat, you hellspawn!? Nobody here likes hearing about your decapitation adventures of stealing people’s heads and their hair. Psycho midget...” Miu grumbled, shoving her food away, having lost her appetite after that gruesome story.
Tumblr media
Spy just chuckles. “Somebody’s not desensitized yet.” He gets up to refill his empty plate. There’s another plate of food where he sat, but that one hasn’t been touched at all. “I’m fairly certain that’s one of the more tame stories Putri has to offer, Miu.”
Tumblr media
"I have to agree with Miu.." Hajime said between bites of his own breakfast, not wanting to speak with his mouth full. "I'd rather not hear about decapitation. At least not first thing in the morning when I'm trying to eat." He added before going back to his meal as if the conversation didn't happen. He didn't mind the conversation, the background noise was nice, but he'd prefer a better topic..
Tumblr media
“Angie thinks it was a wonderful story, Putri! The perfect kind to wake you up in the morning time! Soooo, exhilarating!” Angie praised, not put off and still calmly eating her breakfast. “In fact, it reminds me of a story my mother once-!”
Tumblr media
Fay stumbled into the scene quite loudly on accident, interrupting Angie’s story. “Hey guys! Sorry, I slept in! I’m more of night owl, y’know?” She giggled, making her way over to the table and patting the surface to be sure of where she was. “I think Iyabo and Aditi are busy, but they’ll be here soon. Maisie too! Is everyone else here?”
Tumblr media
“...almost everyone. Ivy and Vanessa haven’t showed up yet.” Ryan looks around the table to double check. “It’s strange, they usually always come in together. Did something happen?”
Tumblr media
Leigh made a small "yahoo" to themselves when they found the correct room, proud of themselves for making it to where everyone else was. "Those two? I dunno. Didn't hear them on the way here." Leigh responded to the question they heard as they entered, causally strolling over to get some food for themself.
Before Leigh could reach the giant gathering of food, a sound so loud it pierced all of their ears rung out into the air. A blood curling a scream that it could be heard clearly from outside the hotel.
