I often wonder how his VA thinks about how the fanbase views Mattholomule, cause he is seriously one of the funniest things about TOH in general.

He's been around longer than some huge fan favorites (Raine, Belos, Lilith [technically], Darius to name a few), yet there's still tons of fans who like, genuinely despise him (LMAO BTW)

He is seriously so cringefail, yet can be really capable

He has a bit of a sad backstory, definitely some room for sympathy, but also he just acts like that

He is seen as something of a huge joke by the writers, to where iirc, when coming up with his name they said "what's the dumbest fucking name we can come up with" (loose quote was taken from PostHoot!) and one of the main writers would make tweets fairly about random humorous concepts that involved Matt in some way

He has platonic bestie compatibility with Amity and the evidence goes back to early S1

Gus, who he is often shipped with, was last seen being baffled repeatedly in their last scenes together as of this post (from the Man-tholomule scene, to Matt's name reveal, to Matt's surprisingly great leadership skills) and even cringed visibly in one of them

There are a fair amount of fans who want him to join the HexSquad (esp me hi hi 👋!)

but also in S1 he would show up so often as a background character just doing the most random things.

He's one of my favorites btw.
