@reimeichan here! Some words that I'd like to know the Chinese translation or closest equivalent of if you have time? DID, dissociation, switching, alter, system, fronting, fusion, split, dormant/dormancy? I know it's a lot, I'm just now realizing HOW many words exist to talk about this disorder....

I afraid I can only get you the medical terms or basically direct translation for these words. And mind you, I'm not THAT great in Chinese or English. lol

Dissociation: 解離 (disect + distinct) One of those things that is hard to udnerstand the term by reading it unless you already knew it.

DID: 解離性身份障礙 (dissociative + identity + disorder) Nothing special, huh? :P Nickname/more commonly known unofficial terms: 人格分裂 (personality split)/多重人格 (multiple personality)

OSDD: 其他特定的解離性障礙 (other specificied dissociative disorder) Nothing special. Very confusing and even less unknown than DID. lol

Switching: 轉換 Litterally just "switching" in Chinese, but adding "身份" (identity), "(子)人格" ((sub-)personality) or "部份" (part) in the front would make a lot more sense.

Alter: ... (use (子)人格 aka (sub-)personality instead) Notice that I didn't include alter in the list for words to pair with "switching"? Cause I can't think of a good translation for that. But people do call the alters as some form of "personality". I don't think I've ever saw people use terms that's close to "alternative personality", but I can try to translate that as "替換人格" in that sense. I did see someone say they don't like to use the term "(子)人格" for their alters, because some other the alters are not "person/human" :P

System: 系統 Direct translation. As someone who knew nothing about DID until last year but has been dealing with computer system for years, I still find this term sometimes funny and wanna make fun of the pun. lol

Fronting: ... (say something like "in control of body" instead) I only know how to say "in control of body" ((somebody)正在控制身體).

Fusion: 融合 Direct translation.

Blend: 混合 Direct translation. Though fusion/blend can be very confusing, I'd recommand telling people explictly if you mean a temperally or long term fusion/blend, in English or Chinese alike. (And you need to put terms like "part" in front to make people to understand you're talking about dissociative parts)

Split: 分裂 Direct translation. And honestly, the official term for DID in Chinese is too confusing. So just call it "personality split" would make it a lot easier to read and understand. And shorter. That's why I put that in my profile's title. :P

Dormant: 休眠 Direct translation. Though this term is more often being translated into "sleep"/"hibernation" in English if people aren't aware of it's DID related and the common term for the community is "dormant". And honestly, I don't think I've seen anyone talking about their alter "went dormant" in Chinese. I'm still seeking a Chinese community for OSDDID.

I hope my translation is okish. :P

Summary:

In the distant past, the Guardian of the Milky Way galaxy named Lanancuras began to harbor a desire for more power. Because of his connection to the galaxy, he was able to absorb parts of planets and add them to his strength. As a result, he began invading the worlds he was assigned to protect. In the wake of his destruction, a following of creatures from across the galaxy pledged allegiance to Lanancuras and became known as the Kadrians. Taking notice of his ever-growing power and followers, the other Celestial Guardians confronted him; however, he had become too powerful, and they were defeated. Unable to subdue Lanancuras, the Celestial Guardians each gave up a part of their power and combined it into a single new Guardian, Mushra. In a final desperate attempt, they used Mushra's core by transforming it into a powerful card with which to seal Lanancuras in a prison. The prison was created from the remains of planets that had suffered under Lanancuras' tyranny. Because planets are themselves large beings, their combined strength (along with the power of the card) was able to restrain him. Thus Lanancuras was successfully sealed in a large meteorite.

The meteorite was sent off into the galaxy to be sealed forever. Meanwhile, the way Lanancuras had increased his strength had consequences on the planets of the Milky Way On Earth, around the 22nd century, it was in the shape of a virus that merged with human DNA and destroyed the humans that way. In order to eliminate the virus, scientists worked on combining human DNA with the DNA of animals and other creatures immune to the effects. They succeeded and created a sentient race known as Enterrans (a race of engineered Earthlings) which are based on humans, insects, reptiles, birds, sea creatures, wild beasts, and phantom beasts. Eventually, a cure was found and the human race survived.

However, due to Lanancuras' influence, the Enterrans fought their human creators as well as the robots that worked with the humans, driving the human race to a near extinction state. Luckily, a scientist named Dr. Daigo Tatsuro placed his 4-year-old daughter Yakumo in a sleep chamber in hopes that she would save the human race and find the human sanctuary Shinzo and bring peace back to Earth which was then renamed to Enterra. When the meteor that Lanancuras was imprisoned in struck Earth during the earlier parts of the Human-Enterran War, its fragment had struck an infant Yakumo giving her abilities that she would later discover.
