“...oi, (y/n), wake up.” samon felt like he was being challenged. he doesn’t know by who; God, maybe? if there was a higher power, it was definitely testing him right now. 

the only reason he had ventured over into your building was because he’d wanted to show you the stars. the sky was particularly clear that night, and ever since you were children, you had always loved to see the stars. in fact, it was one of the reasons that despite working in a prison in the middle of nowhere, you enjoyed your job. 

however, when he’d walked into your small office, you were fast asleep on top of a rather tall stack of papers, completely knocked out. the sight hadn’t surprised him, since it was not an unknown fact that you always tended to slack off when it came to paperwork, (he hadn’t realized it had gotten this bad, but he supposes that it makes sense). 

he’d gone to go wake you up and tell you, let’s take a break and go look at the stars for a bit, but when he’d gotten closer, he’d heard something that he was most definitely not supposed to hear. 

“samon…” you had mumbled, freezing him in his tracks. 

now, what was he supposed to do? 

hearing you utter his name in such a way had gripped his heart in a certain way, and now he wasn’t sure what the hell he was supposed to do next. ignore it and walk away? wake you up and confront you? ignore it and wake you up anyway? 

“gah!” 

“GAH!” 

it seemed the choice had been made for him. 

“samon?! what’re you doing here?! why were you just standing there? you scared the hell out of me…” you exclaimed, clutching your chest to slow down your heart. 

“i just came to tell you the sky looks good right now. and i was standing there ‘cause i was about to wake you up…” he’d decided to take the cool and casual route at the moment, even though you’d caught him extremely off guard. “the clouds are all gone so i figured you would want to see it.” 

“oh, that actually all checks out. i was gonna call you a freak ‘cause you were watching me sleep, haha.” you laughed, standing up from your chair and stretching. “there’s no way i’m gonna be able to submit all this paperwork to warden hyakushiki by tomorrow, so i might as well! let’s go!” as you looped your arm around samon’s and started walking to the balcony, his thoughts began to go wild. 

he’d never really spent too much time thinking about his feelings, especially towards you; he was always focusing on his work and his prisoners. although they were still prisoners and he was still a guard, he’d grown fond of them, (though he would never admit this out loud to them) and helped them with things they brought to him. his little rivalry with hajime was also included with work, and because of this diligence, he never really allowed himself to even think of something aside from it. 

with you though, he found himself thinking less about work and more about normal things. normal things that a twenty-year old might think about, like having a girlfriend and doing things he enjoyed with her. he could teach her all about how to garden and the different kinds of plants and what you can do with them, and he could even train with her. 

except, in these fantasies, it wasn’t a random woman. it was you. 

and that was something that made him a little bit scared. 

now, samon gokuu is not a man to get scared and run away easily, and though he wasn’t running away from you, he was definitely a little scared. not because you’re scary, (at all) but wholly because it was something strange and unknown, and he had no clue what indulging his feelings would be like. he supposes it wouldn’t be bad though. being with you. 

your arm untangled from his as you two reached the balcony, the cool air of the night feeling refreshing. you walked up to the railing, leaning against it as you stared at the stars. 

“ahh, you were right; it’s so beautiful tonight.” you said, a warm smile on your face as you looked back at him. the slight breeze in the night lifted your hair a bit, framing your face damn near perfectly. 

you were beautiful. 

“yeah, um…it really is.” he managed to get out, feeling a little bit too entranced by you. his supposed best friend. he almost felt guilty for whatever he was feeling, but at the same time, he wants to be able to imagine having a future with you. 

as he joined you at the railing, you scooted a little closer to him, beaming up at him with such a joyful expression that it squeezed his heart just a bit, (it really just skipped a beat, he just didn’t want to say it). 

he keeps a small hope in his heart that one day, maybe, these same stars would look down on you and him as lovers. for now though? he’s content just being by your side.

For example: here they are going to the roof together and suddenly it starts to rain. (Y/n) invites him to dance together and after that they confess their feelings to each other.

And maybe during the dance they will remember common moments from the past and confess? If it's too tricky, you don't have to add it.

“oh…” opening the door to the balcony revealed the heavy rain that was falling, the droplets hitting hard as they created a downpour. “well i guess we’ll just go back then.” jyugo started to close the door to head back downstairs, but you stopped him, keeping the door open. 

“why don’t we just go anyways?” 

“huh?” 

“you heard me! let’s just go anyways!” you giggled. it wasn’t something that was out of the ordinary for you; ever since the two of you were kids, you would want to do things that baffled him. and of course, this was no different. 

“i guess we can, but you could get sick, (y/n)...”

“life is meant for living, jyugo! c’mon, let’s go!” before he could protest, you had already grabbed his hand and dragged him out into the rain. he let out a yelp at the cold rain, the heavy downpour almost immediately soaking his clothing, as well as yours. as he stood there, already shivering, you started twirling around and…dancing? there wasn’t even any music, so what were you dancing to? 

“hey, dance with me?” 

“what? there isn’t even any music??” 

“okay, and? i’m not seeing your point. don’t you just wanna dance with me?” you asked him, a bit of a frown playing along your lips as you held your hand out to him. even though he knew the frown was just for you to get him to dance out of guilt, he still couldn’t help but feel the twinge of sadness in him at seeing the sad expression on you. 

“...fine.” as soon as he hesitantly grabbed your hand, you pulled him with you, making him almost stumble over his feet in surprise. 

there was no rhyme or rhythm to your dancing, and even though he was rather clumsy with accompanying you, you didn’t seem to mind at all. 

as he watched you, he noticed a lot of things. 

your hair was plastered all over your face, the wet strands sticking onto your skin in all different kinds of patterns. the droplets of water that were falling on you slowly slid down your cheeks and down onto your neck, soaking into your clothing. your lips were upturned into a joyous smile that made his heart feel all warm and fuzzy. 

the cold stone floor of the cell had long since made his legs numb. counting all of the different bricks in the wall had grown boring once he reached 1,000, so he had just been staring at the wall ever since. it was times like these that ate away at his mind. 

“jyugo? are you awake?” looking to the side, he saw you in the cell to his left, sitting right next to the bars. 

“i thought you were sleeping.” 

“i was, but i had a bad dream. will you keep me company over here?” you asked, a slight quiver to your voice. it was obvious you didn’t want him to think you were weak, but you couldn’t help the fact that you had been spooked. 

“...sure.” scooting over to the partition, jyugo leaned his back against the bars, his head slightly turning to face you. as he got a closer look, he noticed that your eyes were a bit bloodshot and that you had some slight under eye bags. it seemed like you hadn’t been getting a good sleep lately. 

suddenly feeling a warmth in his hand, he looked down to see that you had clasped onto his hand with yours. the warmth from your hand seemed to travel throughout his whole body, making his once cold body warm. 

“goodnight, jyugo.” he kinda liked the way you said his name. 

“yeah, ‘night…” 

“do you know how to waltz?” 

“uh, no…” 

“haha, it’s fine; i don’t know either. i always kinda wanted to learn though, you know?” you suddenly got a whole lot closer to him, making him want to take a step back. he doesn’t though; he just swallows a bit and tries to act calm. 

“why do you wanna learn?” 

“‘cause i think it would be nice if we could dance to a waltz one day…i don’t know, it just sounds very lovely.” you sighed, a small smile on your lips. “can i slow dance with you?” 

“what- uh- i mean…i don’t know how to…” the question took jyugo by surprise; is that what you were intending to do? 

“it’s okay silly, you just sway back and forth!” you took his moment of silence as a ‘yes’, wrapping your arms around his neck and leaning in close to him. 

jyugo froze, unsure of what to do and where to place his hands. all he knew was that you were close, so close, and it was messing him up a bit. what was he supposed to do again? 

shakily, he put his hands near your hips, his fingers hovering over your figure and just barely touching you. although he was still very stiff, he started to move the same way you were. even though the two of you were getting soaked by the rain, the warmth of your body against his was making his whole body warm. he hoped you couldn’t hear the way his heart was beating right now. 

“jyugo?” 

“uh, y-yeah?” 

“...” 

“...(y/n)?” 

“i like you.” for a second time, jyugo froze up, his limbs going stiff at your words. “i really like you. i’ve been so scared to ruin our friendship, but i felt like if i didn’t tell you now i never would, and i had to tell you or else i would explode from just wanting to tell you. i don’t know.” you buried your face further into his chest, taking his silence as a not good sign. “i’m sorry, i shouldn’t have said anything. this was a mistake, so please just forget it happened.” 

it was only when you started to think it was a mistake that jyugo finally unfroze. 

“wait, no, i’m sorry. i was just…i just…i didn’t know what to say. it…it’s not a mistake. you’re too good for me though; if you stay with me, there won’t be good things for you.” at his words, you suddenly looked up angrily, seeing the pained look on his face as he looked away. 

“jyugo, can you shut up about that and just tell me if you like me back? i want to be by your side forever, even if that means that there will be bad things.” 

“but, (y/n)-”

“do you like me too?” 

“...yes.” in an instant, the smile that always made his heart skip a beat was back on your face. 

“see, it wasn’t that hard!” you leaned up, pressing your lips against his cheek, wet from the rain. “just let me be by your side. that’s all i ask.” 

jyugo’s heart almost exploded.

[𖤐] hi, thank you so much for the request!! i love writing nanbaka so as usual, this was super fun to write! if you want a seperate one with an affectionate s/o, i would be more than happy to oblige :))

[𖤐] these headcanons do contain some very minor manga spoilers, but please do read with caution!

✗ first of all, samon will be super protective of you whenever he can sense that hajime is near, (i really do think he has an internal hajime sensor).

✗ it really doesn’t take a lot to get hajime and samon to start fighting, so if samon even catches hajime glancing at you, he will completely go off on him.

✗ “you ugly gorilla, don't even dare put. your eyes on something so beautiful!!”

✗ he’ll share his popsicles with you, especially if it’s hot out and you guys are sweating like crazy in your uniforms.

✗ hajime will try to not associate with you at all, and this is entirely because he does not want to deal with samon. there will be times that you two will have to work together, (probably supervising inmates) and samon will literally be livid, but he will just barely hold it together because it’s an order from the warden, so it has to be done.

✗ just overall, he is very protective, even when hajime isn’t around. i mean, this is an all-male prison, so i don’t suppose you can really blame him for being a little jealous whenever you’re talking with another guard. samon definitely needs to have a little bit more chill though, because sometimes he can be really intense with this, but as jealous as he gets, he completely trusts you and the fact that you would never cheat on him.

✗ when you guys are doing late paperwork in the office, he’ll take a few minutes to just watch you as you work. he thinks you’re really cute when you’re focusing on something, and with all your habits that you have.

✗ he’s the type of person to dedicate his everything to his s/o, even if he knows deep-down that they would neve do the same for him, so please don’t hurt him.

✗ he’ll let you trace over the tattoos he has on his arms for however long you want to; he loves the feeling of your soft touches on his skin. it feels like little zings! Everytime you make contact with him.

✗ when he’s feeling tired and needs a break, he’ll lean his head on your shoulder, whether its when the two of you are sitting side by side, or he’s standing in front of you and has his head leaned down.

✗ he’s pretty normal with pda, except at work. when you guys are at work, he will not be giving any signs to anybody that you are in a relationship, (this most goes for when there are inmates around). since you’re a guard underneath him, he also does not want to show favoritism towards you since you guys are dating. outside of work though, he’s fine with whatever you’re comfortable with; as long as it makes you happy. hand-holding, kisses, he’s down for all of it.

✗ samon will talk big game with you and will flirt a lot to try and make you flustered, (it probably works) but the second you fire back with something, he will be trying to cover his face because it’s turning red. he’s really down bad for you.

✗ when he does manage to get you flustered, he will be such a cocky little shit, so you better think of something to get him back with.

✗ sleeping on his shoulder on the monorail when you’re on the way to another building or leaving work is definitely a common occurrence. nanba is a lot bigger than a lot of people realize, so the monorail ride will usually take anywhere from half an hour to an hour and a half.

✗ samon is overall a pretty cliche sort of romantic guy. he’ll get you your favorite flowers if you guys are going on a nice date, and he’ll clean up pretty nice. definitely the type of guy to set up a candlelight dinner for you, along with your favorite foods, (even if your favorite food is mac and cheese, he will find a way to make it look nice).

✗ he doesn’t really like to mention it, but he will be doing a lot of small things that he thinks will make your day better, even though he has a very busy schedule himself. he’ll do things like make your coffee in the morning, file your paperwork for you, do your laundry if you’re busy, and he’ll make you food and give it to you throughout the day because he wants to make sure that you’re doing alright and that you’re taking care of yourself.

✗ samon will definitely tell you a lot of stories from when he grew up in the mountains with enki and noriko, like how enki would train him and how he was so excited to get stronger, and how noriko would make the most amazing food out of what seemed to be nothing. you can tell by the way he looks when he’s talking about it that his childhood holds a lot of fond memories for him.

✗ the two of you will probably argue over really stupid shit, especially since samon gets pissed off pretty easily. you guys will also make up easily though, and samon will always apologize, (because let's be honest, he probably got annoyed that you were buying too many snack or some shit lmfao)

✗ he’ll definitely introduce you to noriko, and she is super sweet and really likes you. she had always wondered if samon would ever be able to get a girlfriend due to his rowdy personality, so she’s glad that there’s somebody who’s watching over him.

✗ when you guys cuddle, he’ll be cradling your head close to his chest and rubbing the back of your head with his hand. having your presence close to his makes him feel a lot more calm, and he also feels a lot closer to you in general.

✗ he’s a pretty clingy monkey whenever you two are alone, and he’s always going to want you attention on him, so expect for him to be hugging you from the back, mumbling about how you’d been “ignoring” him all day.

✗ “samon, we literally just cuddled in bed for three hours, i really don’t think i’ve been ignoring you.” “you haven’t talked to me >:(.” “we were asleep????”

✗ uno is always up to listen to whatever anybody has to say, and the same goes for his beloved s/o. he always loves to listen to you talk; he loves the way your voice sounds, he loves the way your eyes seem to have a certain sparkle whenever you’re talking about your interests, and most of all, he loves you.

✗ which is why when you suddenly stop talking about your passions, he’s a bit taken aback. why were you suddenly so quiet about it? he had asked you about it, and your answer was rather...suspicious, in his opinion. it was clear that something had happened, but for whatever reason, you wouldn’t talk about it.

✗ while uno is rather perceptive, he’s not able to read minds, so it’s definitely going to take a while for him to be able to figure out what’s wrong with you. he’ll be paying a lot closer attention to the way you act around him, because maybe he did something wrong? it’s not an impossible conclusion, so he’s not going to rule it out.

✗ it finally clicks for him when the two of you are chilling in the game room one day, and you start to talk about a new anime series you had been getting into, and how amazing the characters were and which one was your favorite and it’s just such a complex story and it really-

✗ and then, you suddenly stopped. uno raised an eyebrow at you, clearly curious as to why you stopped, but you just gave a strained smile at him, telling him, ‘nevermind, i forgot what else i was gonna say.’.

✗ his words came out of seemingly nowhere, but he had already figured you out from that little slip up that you had made. so that’s what it was.

“y’know, you can talk about whatever with me, i don’t care. you know that, right?”

“now, why don’t you keep going about that new anime you were watching? i was getting pretty interested!”

“oh! okay, well…”

✗ uno is really feeling like ‘mission accomplished’ when he sees you back to your normal self, and he’ll just smile and nod as you’re talking to him; honestly, he’s just really glad that he was able to figure out what was wrong, and he’s even more glad that he was able to fix it because god, he loves you too much to not be hearing you ramble on about your passions, it makes him happy.

✗ for the longest time, jyugo sincerely thought that you hated him and did not like to be around him, which is why he would never try to interact or talk with you. uno would always ask him about why he never tried to talk with you, and would insist that you didn’t actually hate him, and that jyugo was just being overdramatic.

✗ the thing is though, jyugo never knew that you were actually really down bad for him, but you thought that he hated you because he never tried to talk to you. you knew that sometimes you could come off as a bit intense, but was it really that bad? you had even reluctantly asked uno about it, and he said that he had no idea why.

✗ now that uno knew about it though, he’s going to be helping you out and try to get jyugo to talk to you more, which includes shoving you guys in a room and locking it until he hears you two having a conversation.

✗ uno is also a major part is getting you to confess to jyugo after a while, because he can tell that the two of you like each other, and are not going to get anywhere if he doesn’t do anything.

✗ honestly, jyugo was pretty shocked when your attitude slowly started to change to him throughout the beginning of your relationship. you would be asking him more about himself, and talking a lot more openly with him, and you would even be showing a lot more affection that you did before, (he doesn’t mind at all though; he thinks it’s really cute how you only acted like this with him).

✗ he’s always going to be a little surprised whenever you come up to him and hug him, because he’s never really been used to that sort of thing before, (especially from you) but he’s still going to accept anything you give him!

✗ when everyone else finds out that the two of you are dating, they are honestly shocked and perhaps a bit worried for both of you, because jyugo is bad with relationships, and you’re always acting so cold and distant to everyone, so how is that going to be able to work? honey and trois definitely make some careless comments about it, so you did maybe a little more than put a scratch on their handsome faces.

✗ when the rest actually see how you act when you’re around jyugo, they are completely shocked, to say the least. they never would have expected somebody such as yourself to be so soft and nice to anybody else, but they learn to get used to it and accept it over time.

uno:

✗ when first meeting you, uno is going to be able to tell that you’re seeming to be pretty uninterested in whatever was going on around you, and that you were rather cold to everyone, so he’ll make it his personal mission for you to open up more to everyone around you and have you make some friends, (because he thinks that nobody should be completely alone, yknow?).

✗ he’s always going to be a thorn in your side at first; always coming up to you and slinging an arm around your shoulder, joking around and inviting you to come to his game room or join the rest of them when they were going to escape.

✗ uno is definitely going to be the one to realize his feelings for you first, so he’s going to start paying extra close attention to you and your mannerisms, to see if he can try to get a clue about what you’re thinking about. he has a hard time with this though, since you’re one of the most guarded people that he knows, (he might even try to blackmail hajime into learning more information about you and it ends horribly).

✗ he always knew that he was going to come clean with you about it, (even if he couldn’t figure out what you were thinking) but the way that he did it was a complete accident, but it still worked, and you admitted that you felt the same way about it, (which was really surprising on his part).

✗ as you start to open up to him more, he’s going to become a lot more aware on how you actually feel when you say certain things, although he’s still not going to be able to read you as well as others. he’s okay with that though; it’s definitely a lot more interesting for him to say the least.

✗ he really does love when you act all soft around him; it makes him feel like he’s on top of the world. he loves to do anything you do, so he’ll probably just be around you 24/7.

✗ can and will defend you with his life, since there are a lot of others who think you’re just distant and cold, (which you kinda are sometimes) but he’ll just tell them that they need to spend more time trying to get to know you better.

✗ honestly just really loves you and thinks it’s so cute that you are the way you are.

mitsuru hitokoe:

✗ he’s always known to be playing around, so when he first meets the new guard who’s said to be cold and distant, he absolutely has to meet you!

✗ when he first comes across you, you literally ignore his questions and remarks, and continued to go on with your normal routine, but he wasn’t done yet. he kept pestering you and following you around for the rest of the day until he got a response, which was just a simple “please leave me alone”.

✗ becoming even more intrigued with you, he’s going to start pestering you and teasing you all the time, and he’s not going to stop until he gets more out of you. he’ll even ask the warden for your background information so that he can try to understand more about how you are, (he’s never been shut down so quickly boldly by anyone before; he really did want to know more about you).

✗ as the months went by though, he noticed you start to slowly be open to small conversations with him, and he felt a bit proud and accomplished that he had actually been able to make you let your guard down in front of him.

✗ mitsuru is definitely going to be the one confessing to you first, and this is entirely because he wants to see the reaction on your face, (but also because he really does like you). he’s definitely the type to be handing you a box of valentine’s chocolates in the middle of december and say some cheesy pick-up line.

✗ when you two first start dating, he’s a bit curious as to if you’re going to be open to any affection from him or not, (he’s still going to do it though, just not in public).

✗ when he first starts to see that you’re acting a lot different around him, he’s going to be feeling like a missions success! type feeling, since he feels accomplished that you feel comfortable enough around him, (and also like him enough) to be able to act like how you want to around him.

✗ he loves whenever you give him hugs, and he’ll always reciprocate no matter where you are because who is he to turn a hug down from his beloved?

✗ if anybody is ever asking about why you act the way you do, mitsuru is just going to outright expose you and talk about how cute and clingy you actually are, (he wants everyone to know that he’s the only one you act like that with).

✗ really loves when you cuddle into him at night, since he really likes the fact that you’re letting your guard down enough to be able to sleep around him.

✗ jyugo had always known that you were a bit touchy even before the two of you started dating, so he wasn’t really sure what to expect. safe to say that the first time you randomly came up to him and hugged him, he was a blushing mess and had no idea what to do with himself. where does he put his hands? should he say something? should he thank you? poor boy was just stiff and blushing while uno and the rest were laughing their asses off at him.

✗ it’s definitely going to take him a while to get used to your affection, and he’ll never not blush a little bit whenever it happens, but he’ll be able to not completely malfunction whenever it happens. it’s all very new to him since he’s never had somebody who cares about him romantically, but given time, he’ll slowly come around to it.

✗ he won’t say it out loud or anything, but he actually really likes whenever you suddenly cling onto his arm or give him a kiss on the cheek. he’ll be a bit caught off guard at first, but he can’t resist the smile you give him afterwards as you ask about whatever it is that he’s doing. it reminds him that he has somebody who cares about him a lot, and he really needs that reminder sometimes.

✗ he won’t really return your affections while there are other people around, (the most he’ll do is a head pat or he’ll hold your hand) but it’s different when the two of you are alone. at first, he’ll be a bit shy because he doesn’t know if you’re alright with it, (and also doesn’t really know how to) but after a while, he’ll be fine with cuddling with you and giving you kisses <3

✗ because of the company you’re all surrounded with, everytime you give jyugo your spontaneous affection, there’s always going to be some sort of commentary, so you’ll have to get used to it, whether it’s from honey & trois, or uno, rock and nico. it’s all in good fun though; despite what they say, they suppose that they’re happy that jyugo found someone who loves him, (jyugo will always just tell them to go find their own s/o instead of bothering him, but you can tell he’s a bit embarrassed).

✗ if you ever link arms with him, he’ll be very hesitant to let you break the link if you ever need to go anywhere because he likes to have you by his side.

✗ hajime will probably yell at you for showing too much pda, so you should probably be careful about it whenever he’s around; he’s not afraid to hit you because he hates seeing that sort of thing. he’ll probably hit jyugo too just for the hell of it to be honest.

✗ laying your head on his lap is a surefire way to get him flustered. he doesn’t really know what he should do, so he just stops moving so that he doesn’t disturb you, especially if you fall asleep. he’s the type of boyfriend that will let his legs go completely numb before he does something to wake you up, and he’ll be shushing anybody who makes even a peep of noise. really though, he’s very flustered about it because he can’t handle how cute you look when you sleep.

✗ he’s kind of bad at picking up on social cues, or being able to tell how somebody is feeling, so if you’re ever feeling sad and being kind of subtle about it, he probably won’t notice. if you tell him though, he’s willing to give you as many hugs as you want, (mostly because he doesn’t really know what else to do, and doesn’t want you to cry). whenever this happens, he doesn’t really care if there are other people around because you come first in his mind, and he’ll probably tell everyone else to shut the hell up about it and go back to whatever they were doing.

✗ he’s lowkey likes to link pinkies with you because he thinks it’s cute how your pinky is wrapped around his.

✗ when the two of you first start dating, literally everybody who knows jyugo is extremely surprised that he managed to get an s/o such as yourself, especially when the two of you are almost exactly the opposite of each other.

✗ uno is always going to be coming up to you, asking what sort of black magic jyugo used on you in order to make you fall for somebody like him, (he then proceeds to absolutely destroy jyugo, talking to you about how he can’t swim, he can’t read social cues, he has no stamina, etc.).

✗ whenever you guys are all breaking out, you’re probably going to have to carry jyugo at some point because he’s literally dying from running so much, and his energy is at 0, (and you all need him to not pass out from running because you need him to open the mechanisms).

✗ honestly, even hajime himself is wondering why the hell you’re with jyugo, because he’ll always see you basically taking care of jyugo, whether it’s when you guys are working and you’re helping him lift something, or he’s trying to figure out some sort of math and you tell him the answer.

✗ of course, jyugo knows that you’re an amazing s/o, and he loves you so much, so he’s going to do his best to make you happy! if you ever want anything/want him to do anything, he’ll do his best to make it happen, even if he realistically can’t do it.

✗ he’s always going to be near you whenever you guys go to the game room, and this is because honey and trois are always all over you even though they know you’re dating jyugo, and they’ll start to flirt endlessly with you.

✗ you’re always curious about how his shackles work, so sometimes he’ll transform so that ou can examine them more up close, because who knows, maybe you can gauge some new information about them. he thinks it’s pretty cute when you’re examining them and you’re mumbling to yourself about the possible properties of the metal used, and how you’re wondering to yourself about whether it was connected to his muscular system or not.

✗ you’re always telling him that he has to go in for his eye-exams, and these are the only times that he won’t listen to you, so you’ll have to drag his ass back to dr. okina so that he can perform the exam, (he might threaten ignoring you for a week, but we all know he physically can’t do that).

✗ jyugo always loves to watch from the sidelines whenever you’re playing sports in building five, and he finds it even more interesting when you’re teaching everyone else how to play sports that are popular in the country you’re from.

✗ you might challenge him to an arm wrestle because you’re interested to see how strong he actually is, and you’re fairly disappointed when he gives up the fight really easily, and you can’t tell if he’s going easy on you, or if he’s actually just that weak, (spoiler: he really is that weak).

✗ sometimes the two of you can be seen with jyugo panicking on top of your shoulders, trying to hold on and balance for dear life, while you’re just chilling underneath him, hanging onto his ankles as you reassure him that he’s definitely not going to fall off, (uno pulled him off a couple minutes later LMAO).

✗ it had been something that he had been debating for the past couple of weeks; should he reveal his face covering to you? it wasn’t as if there was some horrible scar that he was trying to hide, or that he was even trying to hide his actual face from you, but it was more of the fact that he was nervous about what your reaction would be. would you laugh at him? would you never speak to him again? what if you thought he was ugly?

✗ tsukumo has never been one to think too much about his appearances and how others perceive him, but when it came to you, everything about that suddenly changed. he wanted you to look at him and think like his fans would, that he was “perfect”, (he knows he truly is not, and hates the standard that was pushed onto him, but he can’t help the fact that he still lives by it sometimes).

✗ for you, it was a bit hard to try to figure out what had been wrong with him for these past weeks. for some reason, he seemed to be almost...avoiding you? you would admit, it hurt a little bit; had you done something wrong? had you done something to upset him?

✗ nonetheless, you tried your best to act the same as you always did, although it would seem that your somber mood didn’t go unnoticed by everyone. one might say that jyugo is rather horrible at reading people, but for some reason, he’s able to read his friends like a book, (more like he noticed the odd mutterings of tsukumo in passing, something like, ‘i can’t show them my face, what if…’).

“tsukumo, you’re pushing (y/n)-chan away,”

“j-jyugo?! what’re you doing here? what do you mean by-?”

“just look at them.”

✗ just from a couple moments of watching you, it was clear that there was something weighing on your mind, but...was he really the reason for it? had he really been avoiding you that much?

✗ following a talk from jyugo, he just decided to suck it up and go for it. i mean, you are his precious s/o, and he would never want to be the cause of your sorrow, (much less over something dumb such as this).

✗ that evening, he had quite easily convinced yamato to let him visit your cell before turning in for the night, (he knew that yamato was gullible beyond belief, but he really didn’t realize that it was to this extent). safe to say, you were pretty surprised when tsukumo suddenly showed up before lights out. what was he doing here so late? shouldn’t he be in his own cell?

“tsukumo…? what’re you doing here-”

“(y/n), i’m sorry i’ve been avoiding you...there’s just been a lot on my mind…”

“so, i didn’t do anything to upset you?”

“no! no, it was just me...um, would you want to, see under, my mask?”

✗ his question caught you off guard, to say the least. you’d always been a bit curious on what was underneath your boyfriend’s face covering, but you had never really asked about it, since you’d figured that he would show you whenever he was ready. you were right about it, but you just hadn’t been expecting it to be so soon, (you’d figured it would’ve aken at least a couple more months).

“only if you’re comfortable with it, but i’m still going to love just as much either way. may i…?”

“s-sure.”

✗ tsukumo inwardly cursed himself for stuttering, but as you moved closer, he forgot all about it, gulping down his nervousness as your finger slowly let down his mask.

“wow, you’re so...pretty,”

“w-what?!”

“oh, sorry about that, but just, wow, you’re gorgeous!”

✗ a blush was immediately evident on his cheeks as his face exploded into red, the words he was trying to get out just turning into a mumbled mess, his thoughts going all over the place. you had just called him pretty! although the compliment is used for girls, he somehow can’t help but feel extremely flustered and flattered by it, (it was quite evident he was flustered from the way his heart was pounding and the way his mind was all jumbled).

“ahh, you’re so cute, i really can’t help myself! thank you for showing me though…”

✗ before he could even try to think of a response, you had pressed a soft kiss to his lips. he didn’t even know what was going on, and it took a good few seconds for him to slowly melt into your kiss; his lips were surprisingly soft, although you shouldn’t have expected anything less from a former actor, (he most likely still had his old routines that he would do).

✗ you finally broke away after a few seconds, and you laughed a bit at tsukumo’s extremely flushed and pink face. not giving him much time to process, you just hurried him out, telling him that he should get back to his cell before yamato gets smacked by hajime for having him be late.

✗ it isn’t until he actually sits down in his cell that he finally processes what just happened, and honestly, he really just malfunctioned, (for lack of a better term). it was almost like he was a computer that had just crashed; he literally just passed out until the next morning.

✗ probably got flushed again when he saw you the next morning because he remembered what had happened the night before, (and gets questioned by honey and trois on what exactly happened LMAO).

✗ when the two of you first started dating, he wasn’t exactly a stranger to the odd way you seemed to show affections, and the way you would pretend like you didn’t even know him sometimes, so he wasn’t surprised whenever you would pretend to not like him and shoo him away. he knows otherwise though, since he can tell by the way you hold onto him the way you do when you guys are sleeping, and from the way you seem to get flustered whenever he’s working his magic with locks, (you can’t tell me he doesn’t look so cute when he does that??).

✗ because of the way you would always tease him when he was running behind or couldn’t figure something out was pretty normal, and he knew you were never doing it out of spite, (even if others were confused on whether you were or not).

✗ so, color him surprised when he walks into the game room and hears your voice yelling at someone, (he literally thinks that something serious is going down, and that he needs to jump in a do something).

✗ instead, he is greeted with the sight of you holding honey by the collar of his shirt with an extremely angry look in your eyes. he could tell that everybody in the room was feeling surprised, (albeit a bit uncomfortable) at your sudden change in attitude.

✗ honey himself was looking pretty taken aback as he stared down at your furious expression, obviously not expecting for whatever he said to have the effect that it did on you.

✗ “you really think some perv such as yourself has any room to talk about somebody like jyugo? do you even know the shit that he’s been through to be where he is right now?! you should be ashamed of yourself; you’re a grown man, talking about how you hate a sixteen year old because of some stupid thing he did?! he’s saved your ass on more than one occasion, so maybe you should start thinking before you start spewing shit out of your goddamn mouth, you fucking-” hajime pulls you off of honey before you can finish your sentence, and he drags your ass out of the room and back to your cell because you can’t handle yourself.

✗ on the way out though, you’ll see jyugo just staring at you in pure shock because 1) he has no idea what just happened, and 2) he’s never heard you talk like that to somebody else. he can tell that you’re surprised that he’s there, and then embarrassed that he heard what it was that you were saying, (the obvious way you looked away in what almost seemed to be shame was quite clear).

✗ by the time he gets back to the cell he shared with the rest, they immediately fill him in on what it was that happened before he came in the game room. according to them, you all had been playing a game of darts, and honey had started to recall some of the events that had happened between himself and jyugo when they were in building five. he’d then started talking more and more about how jyugo couldn’t do anything and how annoyed he was about it, and then you just snapped, grabbing him and starting to go off.

✗ jyugo was really shocked that there was anyone who was even willing to go through so much effort for him; he honestly had no idea that you had that sort of side to you. he appreciates the gesture a lot more than he might let on or tell you, so just know that he’s probably going to be remembering it for a very long time.

✗ later that night, he’ll probably slip out of his cell and into yours to quietly thank you for defending him. if he sees that you’re asleep, he’ll probably just admire you for a bit, wondering how he got so lucky that he was able to be with somebody such as yourself. if you’re awake and you apologize a bit for making a scene, jyugo is just going to tell you that he doesn’t really care, and that you also shouldn’t care about what other people say about him, (he’s still very appreciative though).

✗ you’ll definitely spend the night cuddling, but he’ll be gone by morning because hajime probably dragged him out.

mitsuru hitokoe:

✗ he’s never really minded the fact that you act like you hate him; he doesn’t ever take it seriously because he’s always able to tell whenever you’re lying, so it’s really quite easy for him to spot when your eyes can’t meet his, or when you’re playing with your fingers in the certain way you do when you’re starting to get flustered.

✗ since he’s always playing around, he’s always getting complaints from everyone about how loud he is and how annoying he is, (he knows they don’t really mean it, so he just keeps on annoying them) so he doesn’t ever really expect any sort of reaction from you, since you tend to do the same thing with him.

✗ imagine his amusement when he’s checking cams and comes across the sight of you in the middle of the guard room with everyone looking at you with shock. he couldn’t hear what you were saying, but he was quite curious to see what it was, since you seemed to be very passionate about it.

✗ watching as you stormed out though, he started to figure that something was wrong and that you had gotten angry at them for some reason, so he decided that he should probably go ask around and see what it was that had happened. actually, on the way to see you, he had run into his best bud hajime, who told him begrudgingly that someone had been talking about how annoying mitsuru was and took a bit too far, and so you got extremely mad and went on some sort of rant about it and left.

✗ safe to say that this statement from hajime piqued mitsuru’s interest; he never really thought you were one to go for confrontation when it came to this sort of thing, since he always thought that you would ignore that sort of thing since you know that it doesn’t really get to him.

✗ he isn’t able to find you in order to ask you about what happened until later, but when he does ask about what he saw on the cameras, you’re instantly avoiding the question, and he can almost hear your heart beating out of your chest as you told him to let the subject go and forget about it.

✗ he’s going to keep pestering until you do, so you might as well just tell him.

✗ when you do tell him, he’s very obviously amused at the fact that you did such a thing in response to criticism of himself, since you were always ignoring his affections towards you, (not that he really minds).

✗ definitely going to be teasing you a lot about it for the rest of the night, but he’s going to take the time to properly thank you and show you that he appreciates the fact that you are willing to stand up for him, (and he’s going to say it in such a way that’s going to just make you even more flustered than before).

✗ definitely going to be bragging about it to all of the guards in the guard room, even though it’s going to make them uncomfortable since now mitsuru himself knows that one of them was talking shit about him, (he really couldn’t care less though; he just wants to show off how cool his s/o is).

✗ this guy is so loud and obnoxious, and nobody would ever expect that he can actually calm down and take care of things, and they definitely wouldn’t expect that he’s actually great when he’s taking care of his s/o.

✗ he probably noticed that you were a bit off when you you guys were at work, but he got busy with some other things so he didn’t really question it when you insisted that you were feeling alright. however, when he finds you later, almost about to pass out from the high fever you were running, he immediately took you home, ignoring your somewhat faint cries of disagreement at his actions.

✗ once the two of you were at your shared apartment, he got out a set of clothes for you to wear, and told you change out of your uniform while he made some food for you, (joked about helping you out with your clothes, but you promptly threw him out).

✗ he’ll be able to whip up some pretty good food, even if it’s just canned soup that he heated up in a saucepan. he’ll add some crackers on the side for a bit of bite, along a glass of water and a glass of juice, and maybe some fruit if there’s anything in the fridge that wasn’t moldy.

✗ he’ll keep you company once you finish eating, but he won’t force you to finish everything, and he’ll take away the dishes and put them in the dishwasher before coming back to check your temperature.

✗ your apartment probably doesn’t have everything that you need to get better, so he’ll put a cold rag on your forehead and tell you that he’ll be back soon with some medicine.

✗ when he gives you the medicine, he’ll probably put it in a spoon and feed it to you and will definitely say something like, ‘here’s the choo-choo train (y/n), you gotta eat it to make it all better!’. you hit him and grab the spoon and give yourself the medicine.

✗ he’ll take the opportunity of you being sick to tease you about how red your face is, and he’ll ask you, ‘am i really that handsome that you blush everytime you look at me?! how scandalous (y/n)!’.

✗ despite the jokes he’s cracking, he’s actually concerned for you, and will tell you to sleep off whatever it was that you have because if you don’t get better, the warden is going to smash him into the ground. he’ll stay by your side for the entire time you’re asleep to make sure that you’re doing alright <3

waking up with a start, your eyes opened and you panicked for a moment, looking around to see where you were. it took a moment for you to be aware of your surroundings, and realize that you were where you always were; in cell 13. gently taking uno’s hand off from around you, you sat up, taking a couple breaths to calm your beating heart.

it was a bit of a rare occurrence for you to wake up from a nightmare, but when you did, it was usually hard to get back to sleep for the rest of the night, so you figured that you would just sit a little bit away from where everyone was sleeping and calm yourself down for a bit before trying to get back to sleep.

the small window at the top of the wall provided a small light source, and also a small space to look at the stars. you couldn’t exactly tell what constellations there were, but you could still see the three little stars that make up orion’s belt. it was comforting to know that there was a warrior in the sky; maybe he would protect everyone in the world, including the people who you considered close to you.

ah, that dream…

there wasn’t really any point in thinking about it, but it still bothered you; like a small papercut that you can’t ignore, no matter how hard you tried to.

“so, what’s bothering you this time?” the sudden voice scared the life out of you, and you almost screamed.

“uno...holy shit, you scared me…” letting out a long sigh of relief, you laughed a little bit at the scare you had from him as you looked at him. even though the two of you were literally dating, you were always mesmerized by the way he looks, but especially with his hair down.

“ah, didn’t mean to scare ya, sorry about that. did something happen? why’re you not sleeping?” his question made you sigh a little bit. you didn’t really want to tell him because he might be worried, but it would become a bigger deal if you didn’t, because he would know that something was wrong.

“it wasn’t anything very important, just had a bad dream, y’know?”

“mhm, i figured as much. get over here and you can tell me about it if it you want.” you hesitated for a moment, but you agreed and quietly padded your way across the floor and laid down next to him. he pulled the covers over your figure, his fingers lightly resting on the side of your head, brushing hair out of your eyes. his bright blue eyes were half-lidded with sleep, but even so, he still seemed to look at you with such an amazing amount of care and concern that you got a little flustered.

“so what was your dream about?” he asked softly. you hummed, thinking for a moment about what you wanted to say.

“hm, i don’t think it’s that important, but i suppose it was about being alone again.” uno’s thumb traced over your eyelashes, and you closed your eye under his touch.

“you know that you’ll always have me, if nobody else, right?”

“mhm,”

“and you can always talk to me about anything you need to?”

“mhm,”

“i’ll always be by your side (y/n).” his hand moved behind to gently pushed the back of your head into his embrace, and he placed a couple kisses on the crown of your head.

“get some sleep, we have to beat that stupid arrow hair guy so that i can be the number one handsome man here.” you rolled your eyes at him a bit, laughing softly at his weird competition with honey.

“you’re already pretty handsome in my book.”

[𖤐] hi anon, thank you so much for the request! writing uno is so fun because of his personality, so i'm always happy to write for him!! i'm sorry i couldn't make these longer, i couldn't really think of a lot else, but i hope you enjoy!

✗ first of all, uno and a clingy s/o just go perfectly together! the two of you are definitely attached by the hip, and will always be right next to each other.

✗ he’s totally down to give you hugs anytime you need, you don’t even need to say anything. if you just stand by him for a bit and look at him, he’ll get the idea and give you a hug.

✗ uno’s hugs really are the best though! it’s always super warm, and the way he holds you will make your heart fly out of your chest, and possibly into outer space, who knows?

✗ uno himself is pretty clingy, so don’t be surprised if you’re doing something, and he just comes up behind you and rests his head on your shoulder, or refuses to let you go when you guys hug or cuddle.

✗ jyugo and the others will probably tell you guys to “get a room”, but when you both point out that the cell is the only room you guys can get, jyugo will unlock the door so they don’t have to deal with being reminded that they are forever single everytime they see you and uno, (dw jyugo, i’ll be your gf).

✗ when you guys do this, uno will probably take you to the balcony because he thinks that hajime will probably be looking for you guys inside instead of outside. i mean, after like ten minutes, the two of you get caught, so there’s that as well, so savor the small amount of alone time you have with him.

✗ if you’re ever just chilling, expect a wild uno to plop his head on your lap and either complain to you about somebody who was being annoying, or for him to pull his hat over his face and take a nap.

✗ he’s always going to have an arm wrapped around your, or an arm over your shoulder, and is not going to hesitate to brag about you while he’s doing this. he’ll also be consistently ruffling up your hair because he thinks you look cute with your hair all over the place.

✗ he will want to compare hand sizes with you for “research”, and just as you’re about to pull your hand away, he’ll lace your fingers together and hold your hand for the rest of the day.

✗ he’s willing to give you any attention you want, and he could care less if it’s in the middle of a breakout with hajime screaming at you guys behind you.

✗ the type to link arms with you, a lot. he’ll make up any excuse to do so, and you honestly couldn’t care less about how bad his reason is, because you definitely don’t mind.

✗ uno will let you trace around the tattoo he has on his arm if you want to, (you’ll definitely want to).

✗ we don’t really get to see any of his backstory, but there’s a brief moment when he’s thinking about his past, and it shows him as a kid looking at [who i would assume is his] dad working late. because of this, i feel like as a child, he didn’t really get a lot of attention or comfort from his parents, which is why he’s so adamant on helping his friends feel comfortable with themselves. he’s probably also really touch-starved to be honest, and so, he will never say no to affection from his s/o.

✗ when you guys are sleeping though, he will be literally all?? over you??? so much so to the point that you probably won’t be able to move, and will be stuck in the same position for the rest of the night. also, this mf couldn’t care less if it’s summer and it’s hot as hell in your cell, he will still cuddle you, and you would never refuse him. so essentially, the two of you are going to be absolutely covered in sweat when it’s hot, (do you really mind though).

✗ hajime will yell at the two of you for pda, but neither of you care enough to actually do anything about it, (he hits both of you in the head).

✗ he really likes it when you run your hands and fingers lightly over his face, especially since he gets to see that lovesick look in your eyes you always get whenever you’re looking at him. it makes him feel like he’s on top of the world, and that he can conquer anything.
