Figured now would be the best time to post my face as an out-and-proud trans woman! (he/they) If my account gets taken down it's been nice knowing you all. <3. Justice for predstrogen.
Hey just wanted to check and make sure. Y'all reblogging this, you are normal about trans women, right? Even the ones who are mentally ill, or psychotic, or systems? Even the ones who loudly tell you when something you might enjoy is trans misogynistic? Even the ones that are not white? You wouldn't misgender a trans woman just because you disagreed with her, right? You understand that the car hammer explosion meme is about transmisogyny, not making fun of a CEO, right? You know who this is about and how it's not necessarily something you struggle with also? You know that I'm a flesh and blood human and not just a face you can stamp on your blog to make it seem like you care? Y'know you have to get mad about this too right?
Im sorry but if you somehow missed all that you're gonna have to think a little more about reblogging.
And if this post is sitting among a bunch of funny memes about exploding cars rather than resource posts about transmisogyny, I'm sorry to say you've sorely missed the point.

Hey I’ve been a fan for a little while now, and I just wanted to say that you’ve been an inspiration for me, a younger transfemme. But I do wanna also ask: what’s it like being a trans woman with her life together? I’m 19 (as of sending), been on hrt for almost 5 months, and have been trans for a year and change. But I’m scared. So, I guess, I wanted to ask: does being trans ever become the norm, my baseline? What’s it like after 2-3 years? And does it get any less confusing or scary?
I think there are a few things going on here.
I don't have my life together as much as it might seem; I just don't show you all the ways it's not. I don't talk publicly about the auditions I don't get, or the things I try and fail at, or the insecurities in my own head that hold me back sometimes, or the handful of decisions I've made that were bad calls and which still keep me up occasionally. I've talked about trauma and mental illness in the past, but I only ever discuss stuff I'm comfortably over - when I'm overwhelmed or in the middle of a crisis I don't post about it. I don't set out to deceive you by presenting myself that way, I just keep my most private stuff private. Everybody has failures and regrets and insecurities: "it's a sign of having lived," as my friend Phoebe told me today. But you see a curated version of me that appears not only more together than the real person, but more together than any real person.
Also, if you're 19 a lot of your life hasn't been in your control until pretty recently and a lot of it still might not be. I'd say it's okay to not feel like you have it all together. You just transitioned, which I think is one of the hardest things a human being can do: you can give yourself credit for that even if you feel like you're not settled into it yet. Congratulations!
As for it becoming the baseline, I mean yeah? Kinda? At least for me. Sometimes I forget. I had a moment today in the gym where I saw a man and I was like "Oh yeah, I used to be one of them, sortof? Weird!" The first year is the hardest, or so they say. I wouldn't say I get less confused or scared now, just scared and confused in different ways. I worry less about getting attacked in the street than I did in my first year, for example. (I'm lucky and privileged in that regard.) But I worry a lot more about other people. I struggle a lot with survivor's guilt, which is something only people who survive get! Anyone who's had a drink with me in the last six months has heard me beat myself up because the night of The Prince premiere in New York was the night of Brianna Taylor's vigil in the UK. That wasn't a deliberate decision - the premiere was booked and paid for months before she was even killed - but I've become a lot more sensitive to those sorts of feelings precisely because I spend less time worrying about myself. I'm more aware now of what my transness means for other people. Like, I made an ironic joke when I came out that I'd become The Transgender Princess of TERF Island, and it's kindof haunted me since - I didn't set out to become "a famous trans person" but it's happened a little bit and it's going to happen a lot more next year. That comes with serious responsibilities and a few mild drawbacks, as well as perks, obviously. So I guess that's a longwinded way of saying I might be a weird person to ask this question because, at least for right now, my transness, my whole self, doesn't just belong to me.
Oh also, some great advice I got from my friends: Paris: "Only change the things that bother you on your good days," and Mattie: "Don't believe anything you think about your life after 9pm."

Inviting other artists!
So I've just made a superhero AU for utmv. Right? Well, I really only wanted to design one guy, Lust. Sooo I'm opening the AU (WHICH LITERALLY HAS NO LORE YET SO NO WORRIES) for others to partake in!
Here's like, the basic lay out.
Choose one Sans AU to turn into superhero/villain. Please refrain from using a Sans someone else claimed.
Make them into a superhero/villain themed after something specific. (Example: A plant themed superhero, or even a cactus one!)
Keep powers balanced with weaknesses, please make them relate to their theme!
Give them a civilian identity! You don't have to draw this one, but make sure to mention their civil job and name!
Give them a Superhero/Villain name as well!
Wait, supervillain?
OH YES! You can choose the mortal alignment of your claimed Sans! Super hero, villain, neutral, vigilante? Just pick whatever you want!
Of course headcanons are welcome, it's Canon to YOUR design! Make them trans, gay, autistic, whatever! (Human designs are allowed too!)
Wait.. what do I (the artist reading this) Even get out of doing this?
Well I'll tell you! For one, its a fun artist challenge where you personalize and create a whole new hero/Villain to your preferences!
You also get to imagine their lore, and incorporate their personality into the story! They'd all be canon part of the AU. (Note: if someone claimed a sans first and you did it anyways, yours wouldn't be Canon unless issues occurred with the OG/they gave you permission.)
I dunno, I just wanna make an AU with a ton of people, ya know? I think it's be fun for us to work together on this.

[Note I do not claim any ownership over your designs for the AU, nor will I use your design w/o permission.]
With all that said! Anyone interested? [And hey, if you're not interested? It's okay to just not join. Or ignore this!]

Can we make our own lore woth other characters?
Secondary claims?
Only two grabs?
Can we have OCs?
Can we use our own AUs?

They...they're not hiding it anymore. It was never about "feminism", it was never about "protecting women and children", this was always their end-goal: To criminalize the very existence of trans people. This is what they really want. Genocide.
It's terrifying knowing that every very trans person I know and love here-in the UK-are in grave danger of having their human rights taken away.
The Missouri AG just redefined acceptable standards for HRT and GAC such that adults who have depression, anxiety, or are autistic cannot access gender-affirming care at all. For the first two, you can get GAC as long as you don't have symptoms.
lol.
I'm 45 years old. My brother is 40. My daughter is 22. Under these rules, if we lived in Missouri, none of us could get our HRT anymore.
I hate being right. I hate being able to say 'hey, assholes, stop fighting each other, they're coming for all of us.'
I'm sorry. This is exhausting.

hey thanks for not being super doomer over these anti-trans bills. i kept on seeing so many people being defeated over them and it messed up my mental health for a while, like nothing could be done. but you did bring up some good points and shed some light onto people who are actively fighting for us so i thank you again
The queer movement, in the US any ways, has always been cyclical, we make big gains and push forward, then there's a super scary backlash. We're right now at the hight of a really scary backlash thats focused on trans people in particular but is anti-queer more generally. It's intense but its important to remember these backlashes don't generally last very long, they are scary, but each time they've happened, the mid to late 1970s, the 1980s, the early 2000s, the tide has gone out and gay rights, LGBT rights, and society's acceptance of LGBT people has been farther along than before they have never ever managed to turn us back in the years since Stonewall.
And as intense and scary as this is in some ways it's better than last time, when I was a gay teenager. in those days... in 2004 and 2008 the Democrats running for President were uniformly against gay marriage (the big issue of that time) they were trying to get us to settle for the not marriage alternative of civil unions. Only a handful of Congresspeople (some of them gay themselves) in DEEP! blue districts dared to support gay marriage outright. Today the Democratic Party is the most pro-LGBT major political party in the world, you had the President and every Democrat of any note making statements for TDOV a few days ago and you're not seeing even red state Democrats back down and agree to be "a little transphobic" for votes. It felt a lot more lonely last time when it was us and a handful of allies fighting the backlash with most of the Democratic Party on the side lines handwringing and saying "well can't you wait?"
any ways this movement is and will always be a struggle, the rights we've won, the acceptance we've received has never just been given, it's been won, through hard work. Everyone has to dedicate themselves to work in their corner of the earth to the best of their abilities and to push themselves past what they think they can do. That means hooking up with LGBT rights groups on the ground to protest, to rally, to try to support and comfort those queer people who are down and out in whatever way right now, it means digging deep and having hard and awkward conversations with the people in your life, if you're gay or trans or whatever and you got that one aunt/uncle/cousin/whoever in your life that loves you to bits but you know still votes Republican and you just don't bring it up because you don't want to hurt the relationship... have the talk keep having the talk as many times as you need to. Tell your grandparents if they don't know, tell your parents (if its safe or if you don't need their money any more) tell co-workers who don't know etc, they vote for us 2 to 1 if they know they know one of us. Finally register to vote, make sure all your friends particularly if you're young are registered and vote, vote in every election. Trust me it's AMAZINGLY easy to find the email of candidates for school board or city council and it's amazingly easy to ask questions. Last election I emailed every school board candidate about Holocaust education, and the state rep candidate about trans rights, she wrote me back a lovely note and mailed be a sticker she'd picked up from a trans rights group. It's amazingly easy to get involved, I volunteered with my local democrats for one election and they offered me the #3 spot in their local party, I have the phone numbers of my state rep and state senator without trying really, you can get in the room with these people, with candidates for governor, congress, I have my picture with 3 US Presidents? its not hard to do, and you can use chances like that to talk to them and show them your humanity and leave an impression that really matters in the long run.
sorry to RAMBLE but it's important that everyone do their part, pick a little something, a project to push this thing forward, people doom scrolling, particularly posting about how its hopeless does not help, posting in general doesn't help much even if its not doomerism, I think in the years after the anti-gay marriage Bush backlash we got very online and we got very "progress just happens" and a lot of people fell out of the habit or came of age without the habit of protest and without a local queer community or local progressive community and its very important in the face of this to find or build those and also understand in some places its gonna be years of work to get where we want to go, but we will and it'll be worth all the work.

The internet censorship is coming..(again)
There are two well known censorship bill known as KOSA and the EarnIt act.
These bills both promised that they will protect children but unfortunately these are misguided bills that says they’ll do something but then they will do the opposite or make things worse.
Both of these bills are serious threat to the LGBT community and will censor a lot of content especially there
the EarnItact will also get rid of NSFW content and deem it as illegal, and will also get rid of section 230
The KOSA act will let attorneys from Florida and Texas take control and decide what people could and could not watch and sue websites and anything they don’t like and will not protect children but mostly put many vulnerable teens and children at risk while going as far as to even censor important information like sex education, health issues, suicide prevention hotlines and many more
We have stopped these bills from passing before but the cofounder Richard Bluemenhal is clearly not giving up and trying hard and hard again to push these bills back on congress
Last year more than 90/100 human rights groups urged lawmakers and congress to not pass KOSA in the omnibus bill and it got shelved and the same then happened to Earn it last year on February/March
But now he is trying a third time, using and manipulating grieving parents and young people into supporting and lobbying his bills, whiles even accepting anti trans and LGBT groups into supporting his legislations. He’s trying to find any type of scandal a platform is currently facing and turn and twist it on behalf of his agendas.
He says he supports abortions and the LGBT community but his bills will censor those things he claims to support. He can’t have it both ways.
But he was stubborn enough to ignore every criticism and scrutiny he gets about the legislations, being childish and all.
Not to mention that they are also both privacy nightmares to everyone and globally too
That’s why it’s important that you call and email your representatives and lawmakers and urge them to drop Kosa and the earn it act
Let any human rights group you trust knows and tell anyone you trust about it weather it be a friend or family member.
For more information, click these links below ⬇️
You can also help us by joining our discord server on how to stop internet censorship
There also a petition made from Fightforfuture recently about the KOSA act
(Update # 2)
Hey guys I’m back to warn everyone about yet again another bad internet bill it’s called the safe tech act
This act is supported by 7 democratic senators including bluemenhal which is never a good sign with him when it comes to internet bills.
This is a misguided 230 reform and when reading it, all it shows is that these people have no understanding of 230 whatsoever.
It’s just another dangerous censorship bill that threatens everyone’s free speech. The creators claim that it’s won’t hurt free speech but it actually does and they do not understand how important 230 is in its current form right now!
Here is a good article explaining the safe tech act really well and why it’s dangerous :
Also talk to your representatives about this and why it’s bad and if you can, try to explain to them about why section 230 is important. Support digital advocacy, human rights and any other groups that supports free internet and expression and let them know about these legislators and their bad ideas!
Update 3
The EarnIt act is sadly coming back after failing two times, now they are trying a 3rd time.
This legislation is dangerous for privacy and free expression and speech. It will bring lots of surveillance and is just as bad as the restrict act.
https://act.eff.org/action/the-earn-it-act-is-back-seeking-to-scan-us-all
Now it’s being reintroduced by two senators and two representatives if you don’t know what this bill actually does there is more information about it here from these links : https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2023/04/earn-it-bill-back-again-seeking-scan-our-messages-and-photos
The second one is called KOSA (KidsOnlineSafteyAct),
now this bill has failed to pass last year because a lot of opposition from 90/100 human rights.
It claims it’s would protect kids but it’s actually has a lot of censorship and is very dangerous to lgbt/trans kids and many other kids that are in abusive households. It will actually hurt them instead of protecting them.
If that’s not bad enough it’s tragically gaining momentum and attraction by these child advocacy groups and being sponsored by Dove and Lizzo. And there has been petitions in supporting this unconstitutional bill, One of them having somewhere around 30k signs…
I really wish I could say I’m joking but this is sadly true.
If you want more info on KOSA here they are:
https://www.fightforthefuture.org/actions/censorship-wont-make-kids-safe/
Please everyone call your senators and representatives and tell them to oppose these bills. We really need help into fighting off these bill so we could keep a free opened internet!

my main problem with terfs outside of the obvious issue is that they stand for nothing.
they don't care about women's rights. they don't care about intersectionality. they don't care about racism or feminism.
they don't care about changing the world for the better, or making anyone happy, or saving people from the fucked up world we all live in.
they have no fucking platform. they aren't pro abortion, they aren't pro choice, they aren't pro women, they aren't pro men, they aren't pro children.
they don't care about anything at all, not even themselves.
because they are the stereotypical high school mean girls, who spend their time cyberbullying because they're too chicken shit to bully anyone in real life.
they enjoy being nasty because there's something broken up inside of them that they don't want to examine.
they have no real goal. all they want is to take out their aggressions on an easy target.
because think about it like this, right???
a normal, happy, well adjusted human being with a family and friends is NOT spending their time harassing random bloggers like me and sending death threats and sharing rancid racist memes and lurking on /pol or reddit or twitter, harassing trans people who exist.
someone who has friends and hobbies and a life, is not spending their time being as horrible as they can to as many people online as possible.
Terfs are NOT people who have met other people. Who have things they feel positively about.
If they were, they wouldn't make their entire personality about hatred.
If they were, they wouldn't be fucking all over Tumblr, stomping down on any pro trans post they see.
if you, a regular person, are online and you say hey trans people are just people who want to live as they want.
and then you get a deluge of hate.
just remember that terfs are absolute fucking freaks. they are not normal people.
they are not people with jobs and boyfriends and girlfriends and a community of supportive people, because if they were, they wouldn't be on fucking line all the time, wasting their time trying to get reactions out of people.
they are attacking you not because they're defending anything, but because they have to attack. because they WANT to attack.
because they like being mean, because it's all they have.
because they feel fucked up, and they don't know why, and there's a million things wrong with their lives, but they don't know how to fix them.
and it's sad.
feel bad for them, for a second, and then worry about trans people, who deserve it more.
terfs are not worth your time.
what matters now is defending trans people, more than attacking terfs.

You recently mentioned that you've been out since your teens. As a person who managed to overlook a shitton of signs and only realized she was bi in her early 20s, I am wondering how you realized you were bi and also how you found out bisexuality exists?
Sorry if the phrasing sounds weird, I only noticed I was bi because I stumbled over the term on tumblr in 2016 and was like "oh, that's possible??" and then my earlier identity crises during my teens due to feeling attracted to multiple genders and being like "I'm crushing on [female person]. Am I lesbian? Nah, I've also felt attracted to [male person]. But I can't be straight either because this attraction feels the exact same. Am I broken?" were suddenly resolved with the realization that bi is also an option and that I'm not broken due to zigzagging between heterosexuality and homosexuality, but rather just bisexual. In retrospect, it's absolutely ridiculous that it took me so long, considering that as a kid I had crushes on Anna and Carter and Doctor from Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town, and Vitani from Lion King 2, and back in primary school, I used to go to the kids' section in the library and look at the first pages of a sci-fi comic which had one or two women get out of a lab or space station thingy and go bathe in the nude in the first few pages. I don't remember what it was called or what it was about, but tbh I'd love to find it and actually read it properly this time lol.
--
Horniness. The hornier you are, the easier it is to notice.
But also... well...
The 80s were all about combating the AIDS crisis and trying to get basic recognition of the humanity of gay people (at least in the US circles I was familiar with). The 90s saw the rise of a much more organized bi rights movement.
And then we backslid.
In the 2000s and 2010s, interest in bisexuality as a distinct thing fell off a cliff as far as I can tell. The "hey, it's not just cis gays and lesbians" energy moved first to trans topics and then to asexuality but without bisexuality joining the stodgy old guard.
The 90s were different. I was hitting my teens just as Anything That Moves hit its stride. I bought that shit at the bookstore. Yeah, this was the Bay Area, but they carried it at all the regular bookstores, not just the gay ones.
On Usenet where I spent a lot of my tween years, one of the big groups was soc.bi. I even spotted them having an in-person meetup in a restaurant in Berkeley where I happened to be having dinner with my parents. I didn't go say hi because I was like 14.
My big eureka moment, though, was on alt.tv.x-files when two groups were having a satirical argument about who enjoyed The X-Files more: people who got to lust over David Duchovny or people who got to lust over Gillian Anderson. Someone showed up and was like "Hah! I get to enjoy it twice as much as all of you! I'm bi!"
I was like "That's a thing????" I'd grown up with very liberal parents and lesbian neighbors, but like a lot of boomers, my mom was pro-gay and deeply clueless about all other queerness.
--
So the answer is unsupervised internet access in an age with no algorithms plus things like bisexual magazines actually existing.
RIP Anything That Moves.

JUST SOME GUY: ROUND 1
Reigen Arataka (Mob Psycho 100) vs. Miles O'Brien (Star Trek)
Tumblr media
Reasons provided for Reigen Arataka:
he says things like "hey, children shouldnt be doing this" and "you know kidnapping is illegal right" in a shounen anime.
He’s really just A Guy surrounded by kids with fantastical powers. He keeps running into these weird supernatural situations because he’s involved with espers but he’ll respond to the supernatural problems with ideas like “let’s just leave” or “lets call the police.” Reigen is the epitome of a normal guy who was dropped into a world full of people with super powers and just has to deal with it the best he can.
Reasons provided for Miles O'Brien:
Miles' whole career is built on being your friendly neighborhood Starfleet engineer who just wants to be left alone with his wife and child, but despite his best efforts horrible things keep happening to him. He is an everyman who just wants to drink synthale and play darts with his more homoerotic friends, and we love that for him. He's the most Just Some Guy you could possibly get.
Poor man is surrounded by the weirdest bunch of people in the quadrant including Literal Space Jesus, gelatinous shape shifting batman, infamous sex symbol trans worm, a former terrorist and a (secretly illegal) augmented human. Meanwhile O’Brien is just Some Bloke trying to fix replicators at 2 in the morning while there’s a literal space war happening outside

Holly in "Hey! Pikmin" Olimar has notes for the Shooting Spiner (Female) and he says trans rights :)
I've seen it! About a month or two ago I went on a binge-read through a bunch of the critter logs through a buncha the games. LOL
You'll forgive me for being pedantic (mind you this is the Fun kind of pedantic, for me; I apologize if you don't wanna play in this specific sandbox with me), but I've never really considered the whole "species can change its sex / sexual characteristics" deal to be equivalent to humans being transgender? They're adjacent in a buncha ways, sure, but there's a whole different social and emotional context missing from this because most(?) animals don't really have a human concept of gender. Still! It's a cool thing that happens in nature with a lot of different critters, and considering how much the series draws inspiration from the cool things real living things do, it's neat to see 'em bring it up. I do appreciate Olimar going "well, who am I to say what's weird and what isn't?" It feels like something a well-meaning dad would say. LOL
If I can get it to emulate decently, I'd like to stream "Hey! Pikmin" once Puzz and I have gone through some of the others. I've always been curious about it. I wonder if it's the sort of thing where people were hard on it because it was a weird spin-off thing that played completely differently? Reception to games like that ends up mixed a lot, when it's for an established series I feel... Then again, I also have really high standards for platformers. So I might end up sour on it. That's why I want to try it myself. I'm always fascinated by games like that.

hello, are you under the impression that there is a non-capitalist economic system that eliminates the problem of powerful people exploiting the less powerful? Serious question.
Also, thanks for being a communist, and by that, I mean thanks for being a fascist. Don't worry, though, you aren't pissing on the graves of anyone who's been starved or killed by the systematic failures of communism to provide for the economic needs of those who live under it. Oh, and thanks for being a westerner, because I know you are! Just ignore all the oppressed people in eastern Europe and Asia who had to live through communism. You, who have enjoyed the high living standards brought about by capitalism and have known nothing but luxury that my immigrant parents wouldn't have dared dream of. What immense, staggering privilege you must be speaking from. I'm sure that privilege hasn't affected your perspective at all, though. But hey, you gotta know better than all those dirty immigrants who come to the west specifically for its liberal democracy and capitalism, right?
I'm going to stop insulting you and start being serious. Please reconsider your politics. Please reconsider your social circles. Please understand that just because someone says one good thing ("trans rights are human rights!") doesn't mean that everything they say is good ("Capitalism is killing us!") Please stop supporting communism, an authoritarian ideology that people are still suffering from. You could get out there and do some real good. Maybe serve meals to homeless people? I do that once a month.
are you entirely fucking serious
Do i have to wear a big fucking sticker that says "I am Chinese, my family and I have benefited greatly from communism"
How in the god damn hell can anyone see my blog and NOT see this? Should I change my got damn pinned post or something unbelievable.
Luxuries brought by capitalism? an economic system does no work. Who made those luxuries? Where did they come from? Who shipped it? Why did they make it ship it to where it went? Who bought it from who? Who sold it? The answers to these problems is found in political-economy. If you actually cared about where 79 cent bananas come from and why people from Latin America can only go to the us to escape their poverty, you would find that it is the united states who keeps Latin America in perpetual subjugation. Need I remind you that every single country (except Cuba) in Latin America is capitalist? Why are their failures not a reflection on the capitalist system to you? The "migrant crisis" is imperialism's chickens coming home to roost.
The extreme poverty rate in east Asia has fallen from 1 billion in 1990 to 25 million in 2019. Where did this poverty reduction take place? The People's Republic of China. In 2021, the PRC entirely eliminated extreme poverty within its borders. The PRC evaluates extreme poverty on a higher and stricter basis than the IMF or world bank uses so the number of people raised above poverty according to the CPC is LOWER than reported by western sources. One of the families who benefited from this poverty reduction? MINE. 800 million people raised out of poverty in the past 75 years. There are no bread lines in China. There is one in every city in america.
You want to know what I do? Im a union organizer. I worked with the DSA and the Teamsters to unionize Amazon. I am now working with the UAW as a union maid and recruiter for graduate students. Your band-aid solution of hunger does nothing to actually treat the root cause of hunger. Your understanding of politics and the economy is shallower than a puddle.
Start becoming more curious about the material causes of poverty and stop being a class traitor.

unwarranted Cis Opinion but I'm getting really uncomfortable w people responding to bathroom bills by posting pictures of trans men like DO YOU WANT THEM IN WOMEN'S BATHROOMS
bc like. no they're men. they should be in men's bathrooms unless that feels unsafe. but. it really feels like it's not helpful to lean into the idea that seeing someone presenting masc or being read as a man in a women's bathroom means You're In Danger.
like I know several butch women and NB ppl who are really scared around being on T or getting top surgery bc they're not men and they don't want to be in the men's bathroom, and in that circumstance stuff like growing facial hair or reading more androgynously can be really fucking scary when people are being primed by propaganda to be on edge and hyperreactive to anyone who doesn't look like their idea of a Cis Woman.
and I'm not laying that at the feet of the people saying "hey uhhhh trans men are men and don't belong in women's bathrooms" bc it is not their fault. it's the fault of a concerted effort to make it difficult and dangerous to be trans or substantively gender nonconforming in public.
but at the same time idk I guess it just worries me cause sometimes it feels like "you fools! you are worried about this group of trans people bc you think they're the Lurking Danger of Men In Bathrooms? WRONG! the Men Making You Feel Afraid In Bathrooms are actually THESE trans people!" when in fact neither of those groups using the fucking bathroom is a problem. just piss and mind your business. people need to go where they need to go.
anyway this country is a hot fucking trash fire that somehow accelerates its descent into open fascism more every day so it's all super good and normal. so don't take this too seriously tbh cause it's somewhere near #2535654476457899009765 on the list of priorities for Queer Discourse right now when the fucking human rights commission is actively rescinding protections from trans people. Please ignore my gibberish.
#red said#i get that the point is to follow their logic to its logical conclusion like SEE THE EFFECT IS THE OPPOSITE OF YOUR STATED INTENTIONS#but a) the lawmakers already know this tbf#and also b) ultimately you still do end up making a lot of tweets that look very very very like the original scaremongering abt trans ppl#and transphobes and ppl who are unfamiliar with trans stuff alike have repeatedly and consistently demonstrated either an unwillingness#or an inability. to understand the difference btw a trans man and a trans woman.#and meanwhile idk it does feel like most posts like this are tacitly reinforcing the idea that you SHOULD be scared of masc-presenting ppl#it's putting so much emphasis on clockability. and the truth is not everyone using the bathroom does or should have to pass perfectly.#if a trans woman who looks like one of these trans men needs to piss. a woman with stubble and short hair and muscly shoulders.#SHE HAS EVERY RIGHT TO PISS IN THE WOMEN'S BATHROOM. even if she doesn't look like a cis woman.#if a trans dude looks like a girl he still doesn't belong in the ladies unless he personally feels the need to go there for his safety#if someone is not actively bothering you harassing you or treating you with aggression it's not really any of your business is it#maybe that's a trans man. maybe that's a trans woman. maybe that's a woman or dyke on T. maybe that's a cis woman who just looks masculine.#who gives a shit? a key factor in ladies bathrooms is that they have fucking cubicles. unless someone is making it your business it's not.#and if they are then the problem isn't that they're the Wrong Sex/Gender it's that they're behaving badly/disrespectfully/threateningly#which is also a problem when cis women do it!!!!!

Oop-
I hate when tumblr messes shit up, but Hey, it's me again.
Like in my original aks, I want to reiterate that I'm not trying to come for everybody. Everyone is allowed to have their own opinion. This is just my 2 cents on the whole demigods and menstruation thing
My original ask was kind of convoluted, so I'll just sum it up here.
I like the idea of what demigods being different but I don't like the idea of administration just being completely gone.
I am currently reading jealous of the god, and that is something that Percy directly says is how you get the worst of both worlds.
I love the idea of demigods being more powerful and more protective when they are pregnant or whether their partner is. But imagine not knowing you're a demigod and never getting your period, then thinking "oh I can never get pregnant!" and then get pregnant. That sounds terrifying.
I do like the idea of certain demigods from certain gods having a different sort of thing. Kind of like with Athena, I saw one post about annabeth getting a migraine and shit which is hilarious.
I just feel like having no menstrual cycle. It all seems a little too easy. It's very reminiscent of Alexandria's Genesis if you were around on Tumblr about 10 years ago to remember that. (If not then izzzyzzz has an amazing video on YouTube all about this fake disorder and hoax)
In my original ask I pointed out how It would be an interesting point of view especially for trans demigods.
I am a transperson. I have a lot of dysphoria around that sort of thing. I am currently in pain because of it. So I've been thinking about it a lot.
(Also, this is a completely different headcannon, but I definitely headcannon Leo as a trans man)
Thinking more about it would be interesting to see people lose control of their powers because of how in pain they are I know. I get very upset very quickly like imagine how terrible that would be. (Like Thalia accidentally zapping someone or something)
I'm also a sucker for those hurt/comfort fics surrounding periods and such. Idk why I just like comforting fics lol
I do like the idea that the hunters of Artemis once they become a hunter would not get a period because fuck that.
Also among other things, Artemis is the goddess of childbirth and I feel like she can do that for her hunters.
I did add a little bit more from my original ask because I've just been thinking about it more.
Again, not coming for anyone I really love that everyone has their own opinions and fantastic ideas. It just makes me so happy as an artist!
Thank you! (Sorry tumblr deleted the original one lol)
thank you for the ask! and thank you even more for sending it twice lol!!
now, onto my thoughts. i totally see where you’re coming from. because you are right, part of being a demigod is having to deal with the crappy parts of both worlds. and as much as i would love for female-born demigods to not have to deal with periods, i can totally see them still having one.
so maybe it just works differently? maybe their cycles are longer and they only have a few periods a year? or maybe they are just way lighter? idk. but i still feel like they would work differently than regular humans
i definitely see where you’re coming from on the account of trans-demigods having to deal with it. there would definitely be an added emotional struggle with it along with the physical, and there’s a lot to explore there!
i love the idea of the children of different gods having different symptoms. like you mentioned athena’s kids having more headaches and migraines lol. and maybe ares kids get huge angry mood swings, and maybe aphrodite’s kids get really lovesick and cry every 3 seconds over couples doing cute things lol.
100% with you on the hunters not having one. no boyfriends = no sex = no babies = no period needed. they ain’t got time for that! they’ve got hot girl shit to do. like shooting people with arrows.
i also like the thought of demigods’ powers being heightened when they’re on their period lol. that’s hilarious. imagine a child of demeter having cramps and craving chocolate, and a cocao tree just spurts out of the ground LOL.
thank you for being so nice and wonderful towards people having different headcanons! and whether someone thinks demigods menstruate or not, it sounds like we can all agree that it’s at least different for them than it is for humans.
thank you for your thoughts! they were all super interesting!

They're finally becoming self-aware...
Tumblr media
Image description: User tejuina posted on Jul 5, 2022: I don’t think y’all want to hear this, but the right is gaining a lot of ground in the US and I believe it’s found a way to replicate the success it’s had in radicalizing men by taking a different approach with women: pretending to be the only ones willing to listen to women’s concerns over trans issues and then slowly introducing anti-abortion, anti-gay, and other conservative rhetoric.
Hey radfems... ever wonder why far-right patriarchal extremists court you?
Could it be that there's a lot about radical feminism that slots right into right-wing patriarchal rhetoric? Like your belief that men and women are binary, unchangeable categories? Your belief that there a woman's most defining trait is her reproductive system? Your belief that men are physically stronger than women? Your belief that men are biologically predisposed to want to dominate and control?
It's not a far leap from "male and female are biological categories that you can't change" to "sexual activity biologically exists to perpetuate the species, and therefore homosexuality is unnatural."
"But there are gay animals!" you say, "and that proves it's natural!"
Sure - and I agree with you! But trans people use animals who can change their sex as examples all the time and all radfems have to say in response is "humans are not animals, therefore your example is stupid". And right-wingers use the exact same excuse to dismiss observed same-sex behavior in animals.
It's also not a far leap from "male and female are biological categories that you can't change" to "the biological purpose of a female is to bear and rear offspring" and "males are biologically stronger and more dominant than females and that makes them better leaders" and even "human races are biologically different and the white race is superior to all other races".
So yeah. Conservatives are trying to pull you to the right - because you're already halfway there. Bioessentialism is a huge part of right-wing beliefs.

I've been a very staunch supporter of trans ppl for years. I have learned to swallow my discomfort around some of the things said in those circles. When they said it was transphobic for lesbians to not like dick, I bit my tongue. I told myself, "this is just the loud minority" and to be fair I do think that is the minority but still ... as a lesbian I wasn't even able to talk about people who argued that because "it never happens. No one says that. That sounds like a transphobic lie." And I hate the constant assertions that gender is real, innate, and that everyone feels it. I can't describe my own experiences with growing up as a woman without someone telling me that maybe I'm nonbinary ... no thanks I tried that for a while. I respect everyone's gender, or I want to, but apparently doing that also requires me to put that oppressive structure onto myself and act like it's liberating.
The final snapping point for me was a trans woman telling me that I'm privileged for being a cis woman because I've never experienced dysphoria ... except I have. I grew up with intense thoughts about my body and hating my vagina and breasts. It was never that bad but I would often imagine mutilating. I'm in a better place now but I still feel some discomfort over my body sometimes. And when I expressed this to her, she asked me if I was really cis or was still questioning ...
They act like misogyny doesn't exist or something. I just ... I disagree with a lot of radical feminists beliefs or at least I think I do. But for years I have felt like radfems were the only ones even talking about misogyny anymore so idk
Anyway what I wanted to say is that I really like your posts and perspectives and thanks for this blog. I want to learn more and question more and your blog has become a helpful resource to help me start thinking critically about some things
Hey :) thanks for writing to me and sorry for the late answer.
And yeah, you are totally right. I have also spent such a long time justifying gender ideology because I really wanted it to be right. I’ve excused so much weird behaviour with weird mental gymnastics because I didn’t want to accept that I had been wrong for such a long time.
The entire “that never happens” thing - and then you show them an occasion where it happened, and they say “well, it doesn’t happen that much”. And yeah, people have suggested me being non-binary as well. I mean, by strict gender definitions I am non-binary because I don’t identify as a woman lmao. Just as the “you’re uncomfortable in your body?? what about fucking cutting it up??!!!!” thing.
And for disagreeing with feminist beliefs, the thing is that being a feminist is not a package deal. You are not being some sort of heretic if you disagree with certain things, and I know that I am most probably wrong on a lot of stuff myself. If I wasn’t, I would be the first person who is always right in human history. And yes, even in feminist spaces, there is sometimes some sort of imperative to follow every single belief or you are not a “real feminist”. But being a feminist is not an identity, it is an action. It is an action towards yourself, in the workplace, in interaction with other women and men, in your consumption, in your voting, in how you support women in your personal life and how you do political action. So yeah, I would say that it is less important whether you follow every rule of the radical feminist catechism and more important to support women in your life (which includes yourself). At least, that’s my opinion.
So if you want to learn more, you can look into literally anything Julie Bindel says on Youtube, I really like her perspective. And cool that you’re here!

The League of Villains as heroes would have been insufferable. Total disregard of hero etiquette. They only get the jobs no one else wants and are always paying for property damage type of hero business. Incomprehensible to anyone except a special few that no necessarily include the other members of the League. Within a week the hero commission regrets ever allowing them to have an agency but they are too popular already.
Public hazard but hey if you are a kid in the street or someone a bad day away of dedicating to evil, you can bet it's them that are going to find you and help you. All the fancy tight asses who the media love are busy getting drunk on the camera flashes. It's the League who won't hesitate to ask a kid walking around with bloody hands if he is okay, who would jump to defend a girl after an accident and promise not to judge until they've heard her version of the story, who would sit and hear a man after he got fired and help him find a new job. Them who would yes they steal shhh pay for things people need but can't afford. Who else is as crazy or "bored" to be in the right place when a teen is about to make a decision that can cost him his life? They fight for trans rights and are not afraid of being mean about it. They're particularly at fighting weird cults and discrimination groups.
If they accidentally set a house on fire? If they argue with a reporter or disagree with a politician? If they complain about the economy? Say fuck to the heroes who would rather save others than take care of their own families? Let's just say that they are only humans ;)
