Hey everyone! I'm Amanda Cessor and I write historical fantasy and romance. I have words published in Merciless Mermaids (An Anthology,) Full Mood Mag, and I have my first novel coming out with Inked in Gray Press.

I'll be posting tips, essays, creative nonfiction and excerpts from my work here, as well as documenting the process of publishing my first book with a small, independent press. I hope we can be friends!

The Novel is called "With Love, Juniper" and the little elevator pitch is: Herbalist and witch Juniper, who suffers from severe social phobia, finds herself caught between the courtships of her oldest friend, Oleander, and handsome, influential stranger, Theo, while trying to deal with the expectations of her parents and the members of the small village she lives in.

I have entirely too many projects I'm currently working on, behold:

A Dawn Without Ashes -- Vampire Romance, Stand Alone (for now?)

Projected Word Count -- 100k

Setting

Fantasy Anachronistic 1920's vibes, in a land where Vampires rule and humans are seen as little more than a food source.

Synopsis

In Oubliette, Vampires rule from the shadows. Humans are considered pests at their worst, beloved pets at best. Orianna is the lowest of the low, an impoverished thief awaiting her sentencing after stealing coins to buy some food. When the charming Count Diable hand picks her as a commodity for his blood-brothel, she worries she has jumped out of the frying pan and straight into the fire.

She has no idea how true that really is until she meets Atlas, Count of House Lune, darling of the Empress and and keeper of a secret that could change everything. Not only for her, but for all of human kind.

Of Foxes and Follies -- Fae Meets Peaky Blinders -- Trilogy

Projected Word Count -- 100k

Setting

Fictional version of Scotland, which I like to call Not!land and actually called Dimloch, around the 1910's or 1920's.

Synopsis

Rheannon Todd has a debt to pay. A debt she plans to pay by stealing from drunken guests at a Midsummer Soiree hosted by the notorious gangster known as The Magpie.

What she doesn't know is that The Magpie is more than just a charming card sharp with a penchant for cruelty. He's a member of the Unseelie Court and he doesn't much like being stolen from.

The Hallowed Wilds -- Serial on Hiatus -- Grounded Romantasy

Setting

Pseudo Appalachian small town in the 1840's.

Synopsis

Ezra lives near a mysterious forest called The Wilds. People who go in there tend to not come out, but even as a boy he feels drawn to the strange place. One day, when his parents are out, he sneaks into The Wilds and meets Aurelia, a strange, beautiful witch who has lived in the forest since she was born.

What starts as a beloved childhood friendship develops into a star crossed love over the years. The fear in the village and the brutality of the witches in the forest threaten to tear them apart.

Red Skies -- Standalone Novel -- Pirate Romantasy

Projected Word Count -- 100k

Setting

Psuedo Imperial open world around the 18th Century.

Synopsis

Cordelia Shurka will do anything to provide for her family. She's worked herself to the bone since she was a child to keep the house afloat after her father vanished from their lives. When things get too hard, though, she seeks to raise her station by marrying herself to the viceroy. It seems an easy trade, her utter devotion and obedience in exchange for finally having the security she so desperately wants.

On her wedding day, the thinks she's finally out of the woods. That is until handsome pirate, Edric Davenport steals her for himself.

Atm the subjects i study are all over the place (im undecided on my major)- English, Psychology, Computer Science, Web design and development. Also if y'all have insight on them (which major is better/ easier or difficult/ has better scope etc) hit me up!

I'v got my finals in a month and the 2 subject exams i'm giving are Web Development and Psychology (i'm giving my 12th boards from NIOS that is an open schooling institution cos i essentially took a gap year. In it you choose 5+ subjects and study for particular subjects over the course of a year divided by 2 main sems- you can dm me if you have any questions!)

[I will also be occasionally documenting my islamic studies course because those exams are gonna be sometime in June. It includes Arabic Sarf and Nahw which is prose and grammer resp. and a few other subjects. But for now i'll be focussed more on my college exams bcs they are sooner and i'm already so stressed abt them]

P.S the pictures i use will mostly be from Pinterest because i dont live the "aesthetic" life but once in a while i might capture a good picture, who knows :)

Languages i know:

English is my second language. Urdu/Hindi is my first. I was learning Spanish for a bit (broke almost a year's streak on duolingo) i want to get back b4 i forget but it's not on my priority list for now. I'm learning Arabic as part of my Islamic studies course.

Ramble ab why these lines literally broke me while thinking ab Ashe cause ggrrgrgrhehrhwhr

Jesus can always reject his father

Jesus being Ashe. Ashe will always have the ability, especially after everything that Mark has done to her, rather it be out of love or fear, he’s still locked her away — she will always have the ability and probably the preferred ability to reject him. To turn away from him in ways and to distance herself in all the ways she can from him because he is what trapped her in the house. While out of good intention, he still locked her away from everyone she knew, locked her out from society and the ability to connect to others outside of the walls of their constantly changing homes. She will always have the undeniable ability to reject Mark after everything he’s done.

But he cannot escape his mothers blood

Her mothers death is the reason she’s here,, the reason she’s been locked up since she was a child. She can’t escape the consequences that came from the death, physical and mental. Rather she likes it or not, no matter the effects it’s having on her,, she’s been locked away because of what happened to her mom. Because of the fear of the trickster getting out again. And on the same hand of the issue, we know she can’t escape the mental and emotional torment that came from being forced to kill your own mother because.. who the fuck would??? She can try and fight it, and at the end of the day, she still has her mothers blood on her hands. It wasn’t her but it was her fingers, her body that killed her mother.

He’ll scream and try to wash it off of his fingers

Feels very literal to me. Between when it actually happened and all the flashbacks and panic attacks there’s no way she hasn’t had since her mother passed — how horrible and vivid I know flashbacks can be. I think there’s had to be times, once the day when it happened, and more afterwards while stuck in episodes that she hasn’t been able to do anything but scream and try to get clean from her mothers death. She’s surrounded in Mrs. Winters death and she has, in a literal sense the day she passed, Mrs Winters’ blood on her fingers. What else is a young kid, or anyone for that matter,, supposed to do when their hands are covered in the blood of the person who tried to raise them.

But he’ll never escape what he’s made up of

It’s just,, a fact. Mrs Winters is gone.. she’s not coming back, obviously. Ashe cant escape the fact her mother was hers. She can’t escape the fact she has her mothers blood in her and she’s had it on her. She can’t escape the family line she was put in and she can’t escape what had taken over her to have ruined the line.

Anyways!! So normal ab Ashe Winters guys!!!

The rehearsal went great for most of it, really. Things were coming together, the people felt and looked natural in their roles and story and Imani was happy with what she was seeing.

And then one of the lead actor suddenly turned green and had to rush out to the bathroom and after checking up on him, Imani had to conclude that he would not be able to finish today. They were lucky if he could come back in a few days - which was fine, this is why they had understudies, but she still wanted to finish up today and of course this was the one day the understudy wasn't here either.

"Aaron is out for the day guys, unfortunately - stomach bug of some sort," she announced as she went back to the stage.

That was when her eyes landed on somebody she didn't quite recognize and she got an idea. "You, though. You're new, I can tell, but this is your chance to shine. You just gotta stand right over there, onto that little white cross and read these lines," she said, already redirecting the guy and pressing the script into his hands, pointing out exactly where they were.

"We're just going finish up the scene, all you gotta do is read the lines, alright? If you put in some emotions, excellent, but Dana, you just do your best and then we can all finish up. How's that sound, everyone? Great! You start," she said to the newbie (was he even any kind of actor? Imani didn't really know or care, she would work with what she had), looking as confident as she could.

WRITEBLR INTRO

Hello from the voids of Fate! My name is Francis Ravel. I am a writer of every genre and style, and it is my personal goal to create so many tales that people begin to think I was divinely cursed to be mad or terrifyingly in control.

I have *backstory*, but if anything, it has made me absolutely set in my goal to change the world for the better. It is my sincerest wish to make art that will inspire those who have gone through similar things to persevere, and learn to love to live, so that one day I in turn will get to hear their story.

My current WIP, which will most likely be my main work for the next 20 years, is entitled Night Myths and Day Mares. Book one is available now, and Book two is well on its way to being completed.
