watching grey’s anatomy for the first time and i don’t think i’ve ever hated a popular character more
#nick knacks#derek and addison (AND MARK) need to get hit by a bus for character development i swear#cheating is like my one thing and the whole derek addison meredith mark thing is my least favorite plotline for it#every time they bring up this plot (ITS THE MAIN PLOT) i get irritated like#YEAH YOURE ALL COMPLICATED AND HAVE FEELINGS I GET IT BUT STOP STRINGING ALONG THE SAME DAMN PLOT FOR TEN EPISODES#WE’RE NOT GOING ANYWHERE. Adventure Time episodes necessary for understanding Fionna and Cake
I've had some people ask me if they need to watch Adventure Time to watch Fionna and Cake, so I decided to make a list of episodes I find vital to watching before watching Fionna and Cake! I would recommend just watching the whole series, but I also get not everyone wants to.
Please keep in mind that these are not all of the lore-important Adventure Time episodes, only the ones relevant to the new Fionna and Cake spinoff up to episode 6 (the latest episode out at the time of me making this.) I will update it with suggestions or if I need to add more episodes as new Fionna and Cake ones come out.
This list may have vague Adventure Time spoilers. Read at own risk.

S1E12 “Evicted!” - Marceline’s introductory episode, as she is very important in Simon’s story.
S1E2 "Trouble in Lumpy Space" - Introduces LPS who is decently important in Fionna and Cake
S1E3 “Prisoners of Love” - The Ice King’s introductory episode, and a pretty good example of how he acts prior to character development.
S1E20 “Freak City” - Introduces Magic Man, who becomes important in Betty’s story
S2E1 “It Came From the Nightosphere” - Important context on Marceline/Marshall’s relationship with one of their parents (becomes relevant)
S2E18 “Susan Strong” - Susan is later a part of essential episodes
S3E10 “What Was Missing” - Important for Bubblegum and Marceline’s relationship/development
S3E19 “Holly Jolly Secrets Part 1” - Helps with understanding Part 2, also provides a pretty good example of what the Ice King is like pre-character development, but not exactly necessary
S4E5 “Return to the Nightosphere” - Helpful Marceline context
S4E6 “Daddy’s Little Monster” - Helpful Marceline context
S4E24 “Reign of Gunters” - Introduces Wizard City, may make later episodes easier to understand
S5E4 “Up a Tree” - Character from this plays a decently major role in an episode of Fionna and Cake, but background context isn’t all too necessary
S5E6 “Jake the Dad” - At least one of Jake’s kids is in Fionna and Cake, so it may be helpful to see them
S5E26 “Wizards Only, Fools” - Additional Wizard City information
S6E2 “Escape from the Citadel” - Follows S6E1 directly and helps provide context on Finn as seen in Fionna and Cake
S6E30 “The Diary” - Context on TV, who appears to have a decently important role in Fionna and Cake

S8E2 “Don’t Look” - May give some context on Ice King/Simon

The Buffy Re-watch: S2E18 (part 1)
Killed By Death
Buffy's got the flu and the gang wants to help patrol. That's sweet.
As much as Buffy wants a showdown with Angelus, she can not fight him while sick. She as lucky that the gang were there to help her, and did a good job of stopping him.
The flu is no joke, it can kill.
Buffy hates hospitals. That's fair. I'm not especially fond of them either. Buffy hates them because her cousin Celia died in one when they were 8. The death of a loved one can make you hate things.
Joyce wanting to support Giles after losing Jenny. Does anyone else think that they should have had a more co-parent like relationship after season 2?
Creepy demon guy stalking kids. Why can't we have friendly demons who just want to protect kids?
Buffy's nightmare shows the hospital that Celia was in as scary with surgical tools out in the hallway, and it looking a bit run down. However, that is probably just Buffy's mind making it look like that due to her own fears, when the reality was probably a lot nicer.
Weird security guard just staring at Buffy from around the corner.
Death is coming for the sick children. Fuck.
Angelus visiting with flowers, that would be nice if he wasn't a complete douche who is only there to torment people. Right now it's Xander's turn.
I'd be very happy if someone did my assignments for me when sick, but since I'm sick a lot of the time that will never happen.
Why do people bring grapes to the hospital when someone is sick?
Cordelia the tactless I get the point she is trying to make with Buffy possibly dreaming of a monster because of her cousin's death, it just could have been phrased better.
Hell, even Giles ends up thinking that Buffy is creating it because she needs something to fight while sick.
Cordy flirting with the guard from earlier to stop Xander from being caught stealing documents. However, it is working a little too well for his liking. Dude, she was just trying to save your ass and get herself out of trouble too. You could say thank you instead of being a dick. Also, she is aware of your continuing infatuation with Buffy, which you might have made worse because of a little spell you did not so long ago. All I'm saying is don't throw stones.

hiii beth i saved this cause i got so sleepy last night <3 but okay so im on s2e20 rn. was really happy to see cheryl and betty hanging out this cooper drama is crazzzy. also last ep oh my god! i was like jaw dropped rip archie was all bloody and beaten and kidnapped... i already brought up how fun s2e18 was at one point i was so so giddy thru that ep lol. i have done such an awful job catching up UGH i was watching a decent pace briefly pre break and then my mom didnt wanna watch w me and life happened and i got SO thrown off. so im just gonna have it on as much as i can over the next few days and then........ watch anyway?? or should i just miss the first week the big return and do everything i can to catch up before next week. i appreciate the vitriol you have for her tbh like it's sooooo nice to have another hater for her out there. reminding me to have a backbone. and she sucked so bad. also god the roommates. i HAVE to get out of here (and thank god i will in just a few months.) litchrally wish you could have been here for dylan i was soo so so unexpectedly like nervous like a little chihuahua shaking and she was so kind and sweet but i was SAUR embarrassed and kinda gross after work. she was lovely though. yeah you shouldve been here fr. anyway love u hope ur having a good night <3

Timeline
Prior to the series- Atlas was the Golden Guard prior to the one who mentored Darius. So he's 2 generations before Hunter. He accidentally found out about his Grimwalker status and that Belos wasn't as kind and benevolent as he made himself out to be. But that's the extent of his knowledge. He ran away and was able to hide from Belos' troops looking for him. Somehow he gets himself put into suspended animation and he gets out 2 years prior to the start of the show. He spends his time on The Knee and eventually makes his way towards Bonesborough, wandering into the Bat Queen's domain. She finds him....tolerable. He's extremely kind to her wards, befriending a few of them and bonding with one in particular. Oyster the Sea Otter becomes his lifetime companion and he helps rescue other palismen before Belos can get to them and brings them to the Bat Queen.
S2E6- Atlas helps out with Palisman Adoption Day. Since he doesn't have anywhere else to sleep, he stays and guards the Palismen over night. He laughs when he realizes Flapjack had gone with Luz and she was bringing him back. He doesn't actually mind that she crawls in after Flapjack. Just means he can go and grab a snack while she watches. However, Hunter manages to snatch them up just as he's getting back. He follows after them and helps out with that entire debacle all the while trying to avoid Luz's questions of "why do you two look extremely similar?" afterwards. He's honestly glad to see Flapjack find a home. He somehow knows Hunter will be the best companion for him.
S2E11- Atlas definitely thinks Belos removing his mask is just a distraction. A world without wild magic? Fuck that shit, did you see what Belos looks like? He knows his uncle is planning more than what he says he is. And if what Eda and Luz says is true, then he's also building a portal to the human realm. But why?
S2E13- Atlas is curious of what goes on at Hexside so he visits to check out the Club Fair. He wishes he could enroll there, but he thinks he's too old to. He is in his early 20's after all. He encounters Hunter there pretending to be a student and he pulls him aside to make an agreement. Atlas won't let Willow and Gus know he's the Golden Guard if he doesn't do something stupid. He keeps the name Caleb in his memory, thinking it'll come in handy later. Seeing as how it was Flapjack that told him that name. Of course Hunter ends up doing something stupid in the end. But hey Hunter got himself a Scroll and now Atlas can keep an eye on him through Penstagram...if he can figure it out himself too.
S2E16- Atlas is over at the Owl House studying up on Glyph combinations that Luz has written down for the both of them to study and practice with. He's desperately in need of learning more glyphs. However, Eda and King immediately run in with Flapjack and he's forced to help them out with getting Hunter and Luz out of Belos' mind. he takes it upon himself to follow after Hunter once he's out of the mindscape of Belos, knowing what he must be going through and wanting to help him through processing what he must have learned.
S2E18- Amity, Willow, and Gus alert Atlas of the fact that Hunter's at Hexside with them after the whole debacle with Adrien. He tells them the truth of who he is. That he's an Ex-Golden Guard as well that somehow managed to escape Belos by accidentally getting himself in suspended animation for several years. They get angry, understandable so. But he has to explain that he didn't know barely anything either. So what Hunter and Luz discovered about the Day of Unity and all that was news to him. About the Collector. He knew the Grimwalker part, but he keeps that a secret between him, Luz, and Hunter.
S2E20- Atlas is apart of Luz's security detail along with Hunter, Gus, and Willow. Going to get Amity and to tell the Blight's about the truth of the Day of Unity. He guards King while the kids go and do their thing, following him and incidentally finding Alador in the process. He doubts they'll be able to sway Odalia, but Alador. King and him fill Alador in on the details, letting him know all about the Draining Spell. Luz is taken disguised as Hunter and the group go after her.
S2E21- He joins the group to save Luz and fight Belos. He's very creeped out by Belos' goopy monstrous appearance. He uses his own glyph magic to help fight, zipping in front of Hunter to protect him when Belos tries to use some guilt tripping on him. Leave his brother alone, you damn freak. He escapes to the human realm with the others once the Collector arrives.
S3E1- Atlas is honestly having the time of his life in the human realm. He uses it as a chance to bond with Hunter even more and he quickly becomes the proud older brother who cheers Hunter on in all of his endeavors. Whether that be learning Spanish or getting his hair cut. He's saddened to learn that sea otters do not live in Connecticut though. That he'd have to fly to the opposite side of the country to see them. Camilla has been very kind enough to let him order some otter plushies from the internet to help him feel better. Oyster seems to like them enough, cuddling with them at night and keeping them safe. His Halloween costume for the festival in Old Gravesfield is him dressed as a vampire. Cause he thinks vampires are fun. He's absolutely beyond PISSED when he sees Belos has possessed Hunter. He's saddened to see Flapjack go, but if it means keeping Hunter around longer then so be it.

Welcome to “SamDean, the Scream Queen, and a Damn Good PA: A Supernatural Rewatch Blog” with Lor and Mace!
Up today, s2e18: Hollywood Babylon
After The Trauma with Madison, Dean hauls Sam out to the west coast for some downtime, but Sam is twitchy and finds a case—on a horror movie set. People associated with the movie keep ending up dead, in grisly ways that mirror previous deaths that occurred on that movie stage. Dean pretends to be a PA (and is damn good at it), Sam gets super snarky, and the references and show meta comes so fast it’s sometimes hard to keep up amidst all the glee. Oh, and the boys solve the case—it was ghosts and a twerp. They’ll getcha every time.

'That My Days Have Been A Dream' Day 11
DAY 11

Prompt: Sloppy Bandages/Self-Done First Aid
s2e18 'Seance'
Mike understood the different ways a man could be quiet. He understood his brand, of simply not speaking, and understood Johnny’s, of speaking of everything but the pain. Because Mike understood the past. Of having one, not to hide, exactly, but not to share either.
He dreamt about it. Not every night, but often enough that he never felt truly rested. He coped, adjusted, lived and kept quiet.
If he opened his mouth he might start screaming.
He might never stop.
He dreams about it when it rains. Because it happened in the rain.
He dreams about when there's blood. Because there was so much blood.
He'll dream about it tonight. Because one of his crewmates had been hurt.
Because his squad had been obliterated.
Earlier, at the scene of the accident, Mike watched with silent empathy as Johnny melted down. He alone saw the fist hit the squad. He alone saw the dent in the compartment door. And he alone discreetly popped it back out.
After Johnny had loaded the victims and Roy into the ambulance and watched it drive away, Mike silently took him by the elbow and sat him down on the back of the engine, next to its first aid kit.
Johnny’s face flickered from annoyed to anger to confused to young to scared, finally settling into a bone crushing sadness that Mike understood too well. Johnny saw the understanding and knew Mike carried a secret pain. He quietly cleaned and bandaged the cuts on Johnny’s face, smoothed burn cream across his nose and cheeks and hands.
He inspected the knuckles that dented the squad. They were red and slightly swollen. He just covered them with his other hand and gave Johnny a look that spoke volumes. He blinked in surprise and a shy, grateful smile broke out across his face.
"Thanks, Mike." He said softly. "If you ever want to talk, I'm actually a pretty good listener."
Mike just smiled slightly and gathered up the first aid kit. Maybe. Maybe someday he will talk.
He watched as Johnny stood and hesitated for a moment seemingly unmoored and lost.
Mike hoped he'd find what he needed.
The dream started as it always did.
Night in the jungle.
Rain pissing down so hard it was impossible to tell an ass from a hole in the ground.
One could only guess if that shadowed movement up ahead was friend or foe.
Foe.
The sodden night lit up like a fireworks factory in a three alarm blaze.
It was fast.
It was brutal.
His squad was eviscerated.
And he was just as helpless to stop any of it as he was when it happened.
The dream pulled him along in it's undertow.
He'd lost his gun somehow, somewhere in the muck. His head was pounding and a gash spewed forth blood.
Where was the medic?
Screams were coming from all over the accursed forest, as piece by piece, Mike found the medic.
He found his side arm still clenched in his fist a few yards away from the ammunition, in the belt still attached to his legs. His pack-
He'd rather not think about where he found that.
He bandaged his head sloppily, mostly in an effort to keep the blood from his eyes, before taking the pack from lump to lump, man to man, trying the best he could with what little knowledge he had. It was poorly done, he knew but it was better than nothing.
Someone was calling his name and he looked up for the first time in hours.
When had it stopped raining?
His name again.
Bobby. His best friend through school and basic training. Standing in a clearing bellowing for Mike.
Mike screamed for Bobby to get down.
A second too late.
He watched Bobby blown to pieces.
Over and over again until he forced himself awake.
He kept his lips clenched shut.
If he opened his mouth he might start screaming.
He might never stop.

Shippy Episodes
These are the ones I remember the best, but I may add more! If I missed any, please also feel free to add.
Season One
· S1E1: Pilot- my goodness. The intro. The snark. The conversations. The chemistry. They have an hour to convince you these two men are best friends and soul mates and they do just that.
· S1E3: Death Ride- I just love this episode. Everything goes to shit, and yet we see these two work in perfect sync. Putting hats on each other, eating off each other’s plates, joking about the watch. So many small moments that they can play off of each other with, and you can really see their relationship both professionally and outside of work.
· S1E5: The Fix- Can you even talk about shippy episodes without bringing up this episode? Seeing Starsky so protective over Hutch, seeing him literally hold him down and nurse him through withdrawal is I think the solidifying moment of these two as something more than friends.
· S1E14: Shoot-Out- My personal favorite. Oh my god. Lets go get dinner together! Lets do a well worn good cop bad cop routine! Lets playfully insult each other and then tearfully apologize because you cannot stand your last words to each other being anything other than loving and caring! We’ve got on and off work relationship, protective Hutch, honestly some protective Starsky, it really is just such an adorable and simultaneously painful episode.
· S1E21: A Coffin for Starsky- My god, what The Fix is for Hutch to Starsky, this episode is that for Starsky to Hutch...if that makes sense. Hutch catching him as he crumples in the parking lot, Hutch threatening people to protect him, the angst of it all!
Honorable Mention
· S1E10: Lady in Blue- Now I know what your thinking- the episode where Starsky’s ex dies? But the protective and understanding nature of Hutch is so tender and well done. It really does show that these two be in love with other people, either concurrently or in the past, but they will always love each other.
Season Two
· S2E3&4: Murder at Sea- Oh the banter and snark in these episodes is so good! The teamwork of removing the bomb, holding each other when they blast the door open, desperately trying to do a talent show and deal with guests. They are so clearly on the same wavelength the whole episode and they are so over literally everyone else. Even the little conversation when they are searching the boat in the first episode shows such casual closeness, and it feels so natural.
· S2E5: Gillian- Similar to Lady in Blue, it shows that even when in love with someone else, their duty is to each other. And the scene “you love him too, don’t you?” the subtext is slowly making its way to text.
· S2E9: Tap Dancing Her Way Right Back Into Your Hearts- So these two slow dance together regularly right? These two argue whose leading with quite well worn arguments. These two flirt and “accidently” step on each other’s feet and roll their eyes and are each others partner in every way. Buying each other hot dogs on lunch break. C’mon boys.
· S2E12: Iron Mike-Very me & thee this episode. Also, just the scene where they try to look over the fence? Incredible.
· S2E14: Bloodbath- Ah and we get to separated but together. The fear in Hutch as he looks for Starsky, and just holding each other at the end. It really has a special tone, this one.
· S2E18: Survival- I would argue the accompanying episode to Bloodbath- separated, one in unknown danger, the other looking for him. The reunion is so simple and sweet and they do such a good job keeping it genuine.
Honorable Mention:
· S2E25: Starsky and Hutch are Guilty- Oh the me & thee vibes are strong with this one.
Season Three and Season Four I am having major issues remembering exactly (a lot of them are overlapping with Hardy Boys and A-Team lol). I’ll maybe take some time to re-watch these seasons, or if anyone wants to add these seasons feel free!

So You Want To Watch Star
but don’t know what episodes to watch!
That's completely understandable! Star is the type of show where the first season and a half feel like an entirely different show from the godsend that is the second half! So here's your guide on how to get to the good part.
On the fence? This show features an incredibly queer narrative told through straight people, along with showing the complexities of racism, classism, capitalism, privilege, and love, and how those tie together. It's heaven for people who love to analyze and learn from cartoons, as well as simps for healthy adorable romance. As a She Ra and Owl House fan...it's worth the watch.

The Buffy Re-watch: S2E18 (part 2)
Killed By Death
Buffy is back to see Ryan, and he's drawing the creepy demon.
Dr Backer has a serious rap sheet for someone who is supposed to be respected in his field.
Krispy Kreme doughnuts- fuck yeah! Unfortunately I can't get them where I live.
Laughter from nowhere is never a good sign, it's one that should tell you to get the hell out of wherever you are. Too bad the Dr did not know to do that, and he died.
I don't get the kids playing 'doctor' thing. I know what it means but I just don't get why do it. I like Willow's version of it better.
Giles, don't protest against the extra help, even if it is Cody. She has been pretty handy when it comes research.
Dr Backer was trying to help the kids by intentionally giving them the virus to raise their temperatures. This does makes sense as the body when fighting a virus raises the body's core temp to make it inhospitable to the virus. That's why we get fevers. As long as the fever doesn't get too high, then you should be fine. Meds that lower temperature while sick are done for the person's comfort, not necessarily to help fight the virus. So, Dr Backer's theory should work, he just didn't go about it in the best way.
Giles is getting fed up of Cordy's questions, but she sort of came through.
And one of those demons killed Celia.
107 degrees, that's pretty high. If it goes above 108, then that's bad. Usually they run about 100-104.
Would the virus work that fast after drinking it? It's probably only been a few minutes since she drank the diluted virus.
Kindestod gives me the same vibes that The Gentlemen do.
Willow using her fear of frogs to distract the guards.
Holy shit, the eye thing freaked me the fuck out.
Buffy and friends are loving having Joyce take care of them, while Buffy is sick, perhaps a little too much though.
I love that Ryan mailed Buffy a picture he drew of her killing the demon. Also that he added blood to it even though there wasn't any.

Day 6 (another midnight posting)
S2E18 Lookit the Fuzzy Heads
Dr. Scratchnsniff tells the Warners they're going to mix it up and try their hand at group therapy.
The Warners make it clear this doesn't interest them, but nevertheless, stick around to at least meet the other patient.
Who turns out to be little Elmyra.
And immediately on sight, we get THIS.
Not just one, we get BOTH little siblings clinging to their big brother cause they're scared, while also being scared himself.
As you can probably imagine, the session does not go well, as Dr. Scratchnsniff tries his puppet therapy on them, only to have the puppet whacked on the head by Wakko's puppet's mallet.
This freaks Elmyra out enough to where she grabs the doctor and proceeds to drag both him and the puppet all around the room promising to kiss it all better.
And the Warners just watch in horror, where we get to see THIS.
Yakko's still the best big brother ever, don't get me wrong, but Wakko could be a strong contender for tying for first, if it means we get more scenes like this.
Eventually, the Warners finally ditch the therapy session and hide from her in the movie theater, which is currently playing Jurassic Park.
Only to be horrified again when she finds her way into the actual movie and spotting them through the movie screen.
They run back outside, and Yakko promptly stops them in their tracks, saying they need to fight fire with fire.
Pointless to bring up, you say?
Guess again.
Look at it! He's not just stopping them, he's putting a hand on or in front of both their chests to hold them back, a gesture I'm almost positive is not meant to just stop someone from moving, but also be comforting at the same time.
