"Are you nervous?" Keigo whispered to you, pulling you into a tight embrace as he greeted you at the front door of the lobby.
"A bit..." you mumbled burying your face into his neck, making him feel ticklish.
"It's going to be alright... I promise." He kissed the top of your head, rubbing your back.
As much as you wanted to this moment to last you both pulled away. He gave you a soft smile and held his hand out to interlace your fingers together.
You gave him a faint smile as you took his hand and walked to the elevator in silence. Keigo knew your mind was racing with thoughts he could not control, but remembered to give you time to recollect yourself. So he did what he knew would let you know that he was right beside you.
He kissed your forehead and moved his thumb across the top of your hand. You reciprocated by laying your head on his shoulder as you watched the numbers going higher on the elevator door.
Keigo broke the silence, "Where they right behind you?"
"Mio needed to get a couple of things she had forgotten and saw she would walk with Hizashi." You answered, "But I know she actually needed a moment."
"It's understandable... try to see it from their point of view." He slightly moved his head to look down at you. "It was not the right way for them to find out but they did and it wasa big surprise."
"I know," you mumbled. "I understand... I do."
"If you are thinking that they will be the same as your sister you are wrong." His hand moved to hold the side of your face, "Mio and Hizashi care about you deeply... they're good people."
You gave him a small nod. The sound of the doors opening caught your attention, you both walked out of the elevator and into your home. It felt like you could finally breathe once more.
"Should we get something out to drink?" He asked walking over to the fridge.
"I think water will be fine."
It did not give you much time since a minute later, there was the intercom going off.
"Hey, we're here (name)." Mio said. "Can you let us in?"
Keigo gave you a reassuring nod, you got off the stool and walked towards the door. Taking a deep breath you pressed the button then heard a buzzing sound. Not a moment later both Mio and Hizashi walked inside.
Mio's eyes wandered around your home as soon as she stepped inside. They slightly widened seeing how spacious your home was.
Hizashi on the other hand gave you a small smile and then looked over at Keigo.
"We can talk over there on the couch if you'd like..." you suggested looking at them both.
"Ok." She said and followed you to the open living room.
Keigo then walked out of the kitchen with a tray filled with glasses of water. The four of you sat down, Keigo next to you while Hizashi and Mio sat opposite of you two.
"You... guys have a beautiful home." Mio said, trying to break the ice.
"Thank you," Keigo responded. "I wasn't quite sure I liked it at first since I was the only one here, but now it's growing on me."
"Is it because of (name)?" Hizashi asked taking his glass of water.
"Yeah," he sincerely spoke taking your hand into his own. "(Name) was the person I needed in my life to brighten it up. At first I wasn't used to having someone waiting for me at home but then the more we shared the same space together and saw each other in the mornings it became something I looked forward to everyday."
"How- I mean why did you two decide to get married like this?..." Mio questioned.
"I think it's best if we start from the beginning," you answered holding onto your husband's hand tightly.
Your family had owned a business since you were in middle school. The idea had popped up suddenly into your parents minds, seeing they needed another income to support you in the future. Of course you and Himiko were very against it, saying you'd both get jobs if it came to going abroad or attending one in Tokyo.
But they still said they wanted to own a family business and be their own boss instead. You were all for it if that was their reason. The business was such a good investment, things were looking up and you even helped them during the summer.
Unfortunately when you graduated from high school and your sister left to expand her career in another country, the business had started to slow down. The friend that your parents had bought it from ended up retiring and moving to another part of the country.
Then the new owner started to come by asked for a paying fee. Your parents tried calling their friend but he never answered once. And that didn't stop him from coming by each month, and every time they said no he would get angry.
Until one day, he stopped showing up all together.
"Any signs of them showing up?" Your mom asked as she peered out the window looking for him.
Peeling the potatoes you shook your head. "I talked to the other neighbors and they said they haven't heard a word from them."
"I see..." She mumbled.
"Have you seen dad?" You asked.
"I saw he went down to the restaurant."
Once you were done peeling the potatoes you started to cut them up into pieces to put them into the pan to fry them.
"Have you talked with Hizashi?" Your mom picked up the knife and started to chop the cilantro.
"We talk everyday, mom." Turning on the stove you put in the oil.
"I meant that have you seen the way he looks at you?"
"We are friends, that is all." You said dismissing her comment.
"I just think he is a great person... and he would be a good addition to have in your personal life."
"Right now the last thing on my mind is being in a relationship."
She stopped her movement to turn and look at you. "Why? You are young you should be going on dates, dear."
"I'm still trying to look for a good place to live... my focus right now is to enjoy teaching my students and help them."
"That doesn't mean you shouldn't prioritize yourself too."
Sighing you shook your head, "I'll prioritize myself once this situation is truly over."
Loud voices interrupted your conversation, you could hear their muffled voices coming down from the wooden floor.
"What's going on?..." She asked.
"I-I'm not sure," you answered. "Stay here... I'm going to go and check."
"No, wait-" Your mom held onto your wrist, stopping you in place. "We should call the police."
"I have a feeling they're not someone we should involve the police with mom. It might make things worse."
"But we can't go down and deal with them ourselves."
"We won't have to, okay? I'll make sure." You reassured her. "Stay here and if things do escalate even more then call the police."
Your mother hesitated on letting you go but she complied and watched as you left, she silently prayed that things would be okay.
When you got down to the restaurant you slowly walked inside. It broke your heart seeing your father beaten and bruised on the ground. One of the men had their foot pressed down on top of your father's back.
"I don't see why that idiot can't show his face around here." One of them spoke, "He's the one that wants the money."
"We agreed to the job and we are getting paid for it." He responded.
"The food here looks good." The tall one spoke, looking through menu.
"We're not here to eat." The leader looked down at your dad, "Quit moving!"
"I can't believe people like you exist." You spoke loking down at each and every one of them.
He smirked, leaning forward and resting his elbows on each knee. "Well and who could you be darling?"
"Don't give me a pet name, scar face."
His smirk disappeared, "Who the hell are you?"
"That's none of your concern." You answered, "I can't believe you are acting like cowards threatening and beating up an innocent human being."
"I'm only doing my fucking job that I was assigned to do." He stood up, walking over to you. The last thing you thought about was his height. "Not like you can do anything about it."
You nervously swallowed, the way he intimidated you by towering over your figure was uncalled for.
"What?" He broke out into a wicked smile, swiping his tongue across his front teeth. "Cat got your tongue, little mouse?" Using his weight he shoved you back, making your body stagger.
It angered you seeing how much pain your dad was and you not being able to do anything about it.
"Stop it."
"I'd like to see you try."
Your hand formed into a tight fist, your eyes glaring at him. "Let my father go."
"I'm not letting your daddy go, and he won't be the only one to come with us." He stated, "The boss wants to see your mother too."
Your eyes widened but then they lowered. "I won't let you lay on a finger on my father or my mother, you prick!"
He clenched his jaw tightly and lifted his arm up to swing at you, making you flinch. " You damn annoying b-!"
The hit never came, there was no pain.
Looking up you saw an arm extended, it held the thugs wrist tightly and twisting it.
"She said to move away from her father." A voice spoke, "What? Did you not understand?"
You looked over your shoulder to see a hero standing there. It wasn't any hero, he was the most loved and currently ranked as the number two in Japan.
The winged hero stood next to you as he looked down upon the group of thugs. But his eyes were piercing with anger as they narrowed down at the groups leader, seeing your father in pain.
"I'm assuming your the leader?"
"What's it to you bird brain?!"
"Look all I wanted was to come down and enjoy a good meal from a restaurant that is so well talked about." Hawks said, "If you're going to fight then let's get it over with already."
"What makes you think we're going to fight you? I have no business with you hero, so scram away."
"So you're all talk but no action when someone more powerful comes your way." His wings then opened wide, "All I can see is a coward hiding behind his groupie's shadows."
The leader pressed his tongue behind his teeth, smiling sarcastically. "You really should mind your own damn business."
Without a warning all of them started to charge towards Hawks. Yet again, you were surprised to see how cool and calm he looked while they swung at him with those bats.
Red feathers then started to move towards their direction, somehow they looked sharper than when they're resting on his wings. Hawks stood in the middle, his feathers keeping the thugs in place.
Slowly he walked forward, his eyes not blinking as his stare became intense. Once he was close enough, he took a long sharp feather out from behind his back and pointed at the leader's neck.
"This is what's going to happen." Hawks stated, "You're going to let this innocent man go."
"But-!"
"I wasn't finished."
The leader immediately closed his mouth not wanting to test Hawk's patience.
"You're going to let them go and stop showing your face around here." He ordered, "You are not going to come back and threatened the business around here including this one. I'll be paying back the debt they owe you and that will be the end of it."
One of the thugs walked over to where your dad was and helped him up. Immediately you ran over to his side and held onto him. Your dad gave you a small smile, as you guided him over to an empty chair and sat him down.
"Understood?"
"Y-yes!"
"Good, if you show your face around here again I won't hesitate to get you arrested. I have all the information I need to throw you in jail."
"W-we should go," the tall one spoke.
The leader nodded not taking his eyes off of him and got up. His group members followed him as well, slowly but surely retreating away from the restaurant.
As soon as they were gone you breathed out a sigh of relief, knowing now you were safe.
"Are you alright?" Hawks asked as he looked at your father. "I can get you to a hospital-"
Your dad waved his hand, "No no... I'll be fine. I-it's just a few bruises, they should go away with some medicine."
"I can take you right away really it's not a problem-"
"You are already did too much for us, I'm grateful you showed up." He sincerely spoke, "I will make sure to pay that money back to you-"
Hawks shook his head, "You have a family that is going to need that money more than I will."
"Kenji!" Your mom yelled as she ran towards your father with falling tears. "Y-you're injured! We need to get you to a hospital-"
"I'm okay."
"You're not okay!" She said, "We need to take you to a doctor-"
"Hana, I am fine." Your dad held your mom's face in his hands, wiping away her tears gently with his thumbs. "I just need to take a pill for the pain and rest."
"I-I thought... I had lost you..."
"I'm not going anywhere, I haven't for 26 years and I won't now."
Hawks watched as you wiped away your tears seeing your parents comforting one another. He quietly walked over to you.
"Are you okay? They didn't hurt you too did they?"
You looked away, "N-no... I'm okay."
"Good I'm glad to know you are okay."
"Mr. Hawks... you really don't need to pay off our debt." You said, "W-We are very thankful for you being able to scare them away."
"In all honesty I have too much money in my life." He said, "I don't have anyone else to share it with. If it means you and your family are safe then I don't really care how much the debt is."
"You are too kind..."
"You have people in your life that you want to protect." He looked at your parents with a faint smile, "I wouldn't be able to forgive myself if something were to have happened knowing I could have prevented it."
"Villains are sometimes difficult to control... it isn't always the heroes fault."
"Still," Hawks turned to look at you. "I'm happy to pay it off. Your folks seem like great people, they deserve to keep running this buisness alongside their daughter."
"Mr. Hawks." Your mom called out to him, "You really don't have to pay off the debt-"
He interrupted her, "Like I told your daughter... I have too much money that I don't really use. If it means your family is safe and away from harm's way then I'll be happy to pay it off."
"It's very generous but... w-we don't have anything to offer you in return."
It was true. Your family was in the low class income, given that you have managed to bring in more money, you really did not have much in exchange for his generosity.
"In all honesty I have too much money in my life. I don't have anyone else to share it with. If it means you and your family are safe then I don't really care how much the debt is."
"What if you marry me?" You said making everyone look at you in surprise, especially Hawks.
"(name)!" Your parents exclaimed.
"I... uh you don't need to g-go that far." He said, flustered by your idea.
"I-I mean you did say you did not have anyone in your life to share it with so why not get married?" You explained, "Of course we don't have to act like a marrried couple!' Your cheeks turned red, "W-we can just act like two friends living together.. sharing a house and stuff."
Hawks body relaxed, "You are helping your parents out (name)... I do not want to take you away from them and plus I'm sure you have your whole life here."
"Well I actually only come by during the summer to help them out. I'm currently teaching at a school in a different city."
"What city?"
"The same city that your agency is in."
"Y-you're living in Fukuoka, Kyushu?..."
You nodded, "I went there a few months ago looking for a teaching job. I am in the process of finding a place to move to from my friend's house."
It did sound nice to have someone to come home to. All his life he's been a lone, even surrounded with friends he felt as though he was missing a piece in his life. However he knew the risks that would come if he did get married.
You noticed how quiet he was, "Is everything okay?"
He let out a soft sigh, "The only thing is that if we do get married... we can't just disclose that information to anyone or everyone."
"Are you going to feel ashamed-?"
"No, of course not. How can I explain this?..." He looked away for a second trying to find a way he could put it into words. "With what occurred in the last battle against the villains... your safety is going to be the number one priority. We still are trying to find the last members of the league... so until we are sure that they are under arrest it'll be best if we keep contact to a minimal in public."
"So pretend that... you two don't know each other?..." Your mom looked at him confused.
"I know it sounds rude and t-trust me I would like to go out in public places with your daughter but with villains targeting me, I don't want to put you both and her in danger."
Your dad looked at you with worried eyes, his stare silently communicating all his anxious thoughts.
"You don't have to do this," he took both your hands into his own, gently squeezing them. "I know dad but trust me... I want to. Until the debt is paid I'll be with him."
"Are you sure? You know it is dangerous."
"I have the number two pro hero taking care of me." You gave him a soft smile, "I trust that I will be safe with him, dad. Who knows," Turning your head you looked at Hawks. "This marriage might change us both for the better."
He tried his best to look calm but his wings started to flutter up and down, making it obvious about how he felt.
"She's not my only daughter but I want you to protect her please." Your dad spoke, "I want to see her happy, and if things do not turn out okay... can I rely on you bringing her back to me with no pain or regret?"
Hawks stepped forward, standing next to you. "I promise "I will protect her to make sure she comes back."
Your mom smiled at the both of you, "I guess it will be a quick wedding then. Should I call your sister-"
"No... I think it'll be best to let her know when she comes by to visit."
"Alright, I understand."
"When will the wedding take place?" Your dad asked.
"I'll make sure to arrange it in Kyushu if that is alright?" Your both parents nodded. "I have a small mission to go to in a few days, I will most likely let you know when I come back. In the meantime you can start packing anything you'd might need to bring to my house."
It was a bit overwhelming, now that you were thinking about it. But if it meant that the debt was paid and they were safe then it was worth the sacrifice.
"I'll make sure to do that then, have a safe mission okay?"
Even then you had already started to worry about him, a stranger who had happened to be at the right place at the right time.
Hizashi and Mio sat quietly, looking down at their hands as they tried to adborb the information you had given them.
"Please don't think I did not trust you enough to tell you," You said breaking the ice. "If something had gone wrong I did not want anything bad happening to you both."
"Do you guys... even have feelings for each other?..." Mio questionably looked at you two. "This marriage was built upon a deal after all."
You were about to answer her question when Keigo beat you to it.
"I'll admit- and this might sound selfish," he took a moment to gather his thoughts then spoke. "At first I honestly did not feel anything for (name). Upon meeting her for the first time I thought she was brave for trying to fight against those thugs that had her dad. She seemed like someone you could depend on and ask for help if you needed it."
He used his other hand and placed it on top of yours, swiping his thumb back and forth across your skin gently.
"She caught me by surprise when she suggested that we'd get married. Yet the longer I thought about it... I realized it wasn't as crazy as it sounds. I had been alone almost my whole life, I thought why not and invite someone into my home and see what happens. And I was right... she blew me away in ways I never expected. She added color into my life and made me understand what it meant having someone by your side." A smile started to form on his lips, along with a soft chuckle. "That day I got back home beaten up from a run in with some villains, she was there still awake waiting for me to come back home. And all she was doing was sleeping, but even then it gave me a sense of belonging, being cared for in a way I never had in my life.
Keigo looked at Mio and then at Hizashi, "I knew since that moment that I cared about her. I wanted to do anything and everything in my life to make sure she was okay. So yes I did not expect to catch feelings for this magnificent human being but I did and I'm glad that I agreed."
Silence fell in the room, you were both in shock and overwhelmed with his beautiful words. While your friends came to the realization that this marriage was starting to become real.
Mio grabbed the glass of water, "I was expecting something simple and short but you exceeded my expectations."
"I don't truly understand what went through your minds when you agreed. I thought this marriage you had talked about that it would not last till the end." Hizashi said, "But now I see that I was wrong. If he is making you happy and you are really happy then I can't say or do anything."
"What he means is that... we are with you and we wish you both happiness. I hope this marriage you are starting to really build lasts long because you deserve it."
"Mio..." With tears in your eyes you got up and hugged her tightly. You buried your face into her shoulder, muttering an apology. "I'm sorry I couldn't tell you earlier."
"I understand why, it isn't something you can shout out into the world." She rubbed your back up and down, smiling. "I'm just glad you finally told me. I meant it when I said that I'm here for you, okay?"
You let the tears fall knowing she was referring to your sister for the way she had treated you.
"Thank you, Mio."
"(name) is special, you know that right?" Hizashi said looking at him as he sipped on his glass of water.
"I do." Keigo answered watching from afar as you and Mio talked happily.
"Then I expect you to not make her cry or break her heart."
I knew this was going to happen.
"I don't plan to," he said. "I made a promise to her parents and I will keep it."
"Good... cause her parents aren't the only one who you'll have to deal with Hawks."
"You still have feelings for her don't you, Hizashi?" Keigo asked leaning back against counter.
"(name) only sees me as a friend, she always has." He answered. "But even then I still had hope that she would change her mind but then she announced she was married. So, I backed off."
With a clenched jaw, Keigo narrowed his eyes at him. "What are you trying to say?"
Hizashi shrugged. "I care about her and I want to see her happy so I hope you don't end up being a regret to her."
Keigo parted his lips to speak but he walked away before he able to have the last word. He knew, Hizashi was close to you and you only saw him as a friend. Even then the jealousy that was started to run through his veins as he hugged you, grew.
"Keigo!" you exclaimed quickly going over to him and pulled him into a tight hug.
His demeanor quickly changed, "Hey beautiful." his arms wrapping themselves around your waist tightly.
"Hizashi suggested if we could have a little dinner just the four of us to celebrate."
"That sounds good." He smiled kissing your face, making you break out into laughter grabbing Hizashi's attention.

It was complicated to say the least.
You somehow ended up being friends with a villain that had attacked your friends not once but three times. Were you insane? Maybe, it all depends on how people actually take time to think things through.
Of course you don't condone what the villains have done to innocent people. And you also clearly aren't siding with them either. But knowing how you have such a soft heart, more or else you somehow understood why he was the way he was.
"Hey, (last name)!" Midoriya yelled as he caught up with you.
You stopped and looked over your shoulder. Softly smiling you said, "Hey, Midoriya. What's up?"
"The others and I were talking about going to a karaoke near the school." He explained, "Would you like to come along?"
"Today?"
He nodded. "It's when everyone is mostly free and since midterms are over we thought it'd be a nice way to unwind and relax."
"I actually have to do something first back at the dorms." You said, "Would you mind sending me the address so I can meet up with you guys later?"
"Sure." Midoriya took out his phone and quickly messaged you the name and address. "Do you want me to wait for youโ€•?"
Shaking your head you checked your phone seeing the text had gone through.
"No worries, I won't be long." You assured him, "I should be there in about 10 minutes."
"Well, alright then. Let me know if you need anything."
You softly smiled, "I will!"
After parting ways with your friend you made your way towards the dorms alone. In all honesty it felt kinda nice, arriving back by yourself without any yelling for once. You did appreciate your friends a lot and were thankful, but sometimes with all the chaos around you it always felt nice to have some quiet time.
As you entered the building you saw someone standing there looking at the picture frames that were hung up on the huge green wall.
You immediately stopped moving as panic began to course through your veins.
"I didn't realize you were this close to them." They said, "I admit I'm kinda jealous that we don't have even one photo together."
Your head immediately turned in all directions, hoping there wasn't a single soul around. Especially not Mr. Aizawa who was known to appear and disappear in an instant.
"What are you doing here?" You whispered quickly walking over to him. "How did you even get in?!"
He turned around with one hand behind his head smiling at you.
"I was able to sneak in through your window. Also you really need a new door, it keeps creaking when you open it."
"Dabiโ€ฆ" You sighed, "I told you that you can't show up just like thisโ€ฆ anyone could have walked in and see you."
"Don't worry, I overheard you and that Midoriya kid talking about everyone going to karaoke." He explained, "I doubt anyone else is left in the building."
"Well yeahโ€• that doesn't mean that my teacher is gone though."
"Come on, (name) you're over worrying about nothing."
Dabi walked closer to you and opened his arms. "Is it a crime to want and see my favorite doll?"
You knew he meant well still the feeling of someone walking in and seeing you both together did not sit well.
But you couldn't resist, walking closer to him you wrapped your arms around his torso and hugged him tightly. A smile rested on his face as he wrapped his arms around your figure, inhaling your scent.
"These class 1-A idiots are stealing you away from me." He said, "I haven't even been able to see you in almost a month because of them."
"That's not true," you muttered closing your eyes and enjoying his warmth. "You also have been busy and have been gone weeks on trips without talking to me either."
"Because I can't risk your safety." Dabi petted the top of your head. "You know they're already on to me thinking I have a girlfriend and all that crap."
Chuckling you looked up at him, "I mean it wouldn't surprise me if you do end up finding one later on."
"Why go looking when she might be standing in front of me?" He teased.
Blushing you looked away, "You're unbelievable."
"Hey, (last name)!"
Your body froze.
"Shitโ€ฆ" Dabi cursed under his breath as he realized you two have been caught.
"Deku keeps asking about you idiot! How much longerโ€•" Bakugo's eyes glared at the mysterious figure. "What theโ€• who the hell is this?"
Thankful that Dabi's back was facing him, you pulled away and stepped forward.
"He's justโ€ฆ an old friend who came by for a visit." You nervously spoke.
"Does Mr. Aizawa know?" He questioned not believing anything you were saying.
"Oโ€•Of course!" You quickly said. "My friend was actually about to leave, he was just passing by since he has stuff to do."
Bakugo's gaze focused on him, still feeling hesitant. "He can't talk or what?"
"Wellโ€ฆ he tends to be a bit shy is all." You answered looking away, "But once he gets to know someone he doesn't stop talking at all!"
"Mhm."
You saw the way he was looking at Dabi, his glare became intense.
"What did Midoriya want by the way?" you asked, shifting his focus back on to you.
"That bastard won't shut up about you." He rolled his eyes, "Can you fucking hurry up and go?! I don't want to keep hearing him complaining."
"I'll be right thereโ€•"
"Whatever." Bakugo grumbled and stomped out of the dorms already feeling too annoyed to even stay any longer.
Breathing a sigh of relief you said, "Why don't we meet up afterwards instead?" You suggested. "That way they won't keep wondering where I amโ€•"
"Can't you just make up an excuse?"
Turning your head you looked at him, his eyes were casted down. A look of sadness formed in those bright blue orbs.
"Dabiโ€ฆ did you want to hangout today?"
He looked off to the side, feeling himself turning red for admitting that he did not want them stealing your attention.
"Why didn't you say anything? You know I like spending time with you too."
"It seems like you enjoy spending time with them more."
"Well they're my friends." You said getting closer to him hoping he'll look at you. "Of course I like hanging out with them and you. You're one of my best friends, Dabi."
"I'm your best friend?โ€ฆ"
You nodded, "Well yeahโ€ฆ I mean unless you don't see me like someone closeโ€•"
Dabi sighed tilting his head back to the ceiling, "You're an idiot." He mumbled.
Tilting your head to the side you asked him confused, "What?"
He turned to look at you, "I never said I didn't consider you someone close to me. If that was true I wouldn't insist on seeing you."
"Trueโ€ฆ" you muttered looking down at your feet in shame. "Iโ€•I shouldn't haveโ€ฆ second guessed anythingโ€ฆ"
"No you shouldn't have." Dabi took a step forward, surprising you as he held your cheeks with both of his hands. "I like being around you doll, as embarrassed as I am to say this butโ€ฆ I miss you when you're not next to me."
Slowly you looked up at him, "Youโ€• wait really?โ€ฆ I mean I'm not going to you knowโ€• doubt what you're sayingโ€ฆ but you usually seem like you're comfortable being with Toga too."
"She's someone I have to work with, she's a colleague. Of course she is somewhat tolerable though." He explained, however the way he looked at you said something else. "Believe me if you were the one in her place instead I wouldn't hesitate to go to work everyday if it meant seeing you."
Your heart started to flutter, you felt it could fly away any second as you heard him speak. Never did you realize that maybe Dabi would feel that way about you. Of course your friendship started in such a random way, in your mind you thought it would disappear one day but you were taught wrong as the days passed by.
"You're making me feel like an idiot hereโ€ฆ the least you can do is respond, you know?"
"Rโ€•Right, well Iโ€ฆ I actually do not know what to say." You admitted looking away from him, "You are usually self reserved, hearing you talk like thatโ€ฆ it's a surpriseโ€ฆ but it feels comforting. It's nice to hear you say what you feel."
Dabi's face flushed a dark red, yet it made him feel happy that you were comfortable with him being more open.
"Why don't we go and hangout in your room?" He suggested moving his hand to hold the back of your neck gently as his thumb brushed across your cheek bone. "That way you won't feel as anxious in case someone comes in."
Yโ€•Yeah." You stuttered, feeling nervous about being alone with him.
Before it was a normal occurrence, he used to always come see you at night. Whether it was during your studying time or when you were about to sleep, you never denied him to come inside.
But with all the things he said, it made it feel even more intimate. Dabi was someone you could always count on and trust, yet somehow your heart was beating rapidly than it normally would.
As quickly as you could you unlocked your dorm room and walked inside. You breathed a sigh of relief feeling safe knowing no one would see you two.
As he walked into your room he noticed a picture hanging above your desk. Squinting his eyes, he got closer and realized it was taken during your first time you hung out together.
You decided to change out of your uniform and into some more comfier clothes in the bathroom. When you walked out you saw him still standing in front of your desk.
"Hey, everything alright?" you asked walking over to him.
"I didn't know you had taken a photo that day." He spoke not moving from his spot.
"Oh," you blushed. "Iโ€•I was going to tell you but I did not want to make you feel weird since it was the first time we hung out when I was in Kyoto for the weekend."
"You should have told me," he said turning around to face you and took a step forward towards you. "Here I was acting jealous when I shouldn't of have to begin with."
You played with your fingers, "Dabi you shouldn't feel jealousโ€ฆ I treasure our friendship a lot. I do not wishโ€ฆ to think that one day it might end."
"Doll," he sat down at the edge of your bed. "My life expectancy is low you know that with the type of work I do."
"I knowโ€ฆ" You mumbled, "But you always come back no matter what happens. Iโ€•I mean you said it and you have kept that promise since the beginning."
A faint smile rested on his lips, extending his hand out to you. You took the signal and walked over to him, holding his hand.
"I actually said it as a more of a comfort for me." He admitted as you sat down next to him. "I didn't use to care about staying alive but knowing that you're counting on me and I have someone like youโ€ฆ it has been the source that makes me come back."
"Dabiโ€ฆ" you softly said as you held his cheek carefully, being afraid of hurting him more than he already was. "If you need to have a reason then use me as it, I want you to keep living. No matter what happens I know that one day you will be able to live the life you want."
"How can you have such high hopes for me?"
Smiling small you leaned in and kissed his cheek, his eyes closed feeling your lips against his burned flesh. "Because you are still human and someone who has been through so much still deserves to have their good ending."
Dabi's heart began to pick up its rhythm. Having you this close to him was something he's wanted for a long time. He was hesitant to say anything to ruin the friendship he had built with you. You meant everything to him but it was difficult to stop himself from admitting his feelings to you.
"Do you have any work you need to get done?" He asked.
"I managed to finish everything, I only one thing to do but it's not urgent." You answered, "Do you want to watch a movie? I can order us some food."
He tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear, "That sounds nice actually. You don't mind if I stay late tonight?"
"Not at all." You smiled looking at him, "I was going to head home until tomorrow morning."
"Finally," he threw his head back looking up at the ceiling then back at you. "We can stay up late."
"Hey, I like getting my hours of sleep in."
"Still, there's nothing bad about staying up late once in awhile you know."
You rolled your eyes playfully, "Yeah yeah."
โ€•โ€•โ€•โ€•โ€•โ€•
"Is the food almost here?" Dabi asked as he looked over your shoulder at your phone.
"It should be hereโ€ฆ." you mumbled looking at the info shown on the screen. "In a minute, it's actually around the corner."
"Finallyโ€ฆ I was starving." He whined, resting his chin on your shoulder.
"Don't be impatient." You chuckled, "I'll go get it now."
"Don't leave me yet," Dabi muttered as he hugged you tighter around your waist.
You turned your head to look at him. "I won't be long," gently you ran your fingers through his hair. "I'll be quick."
"Mhmm." He closed his eyes enjoying the way your fingers easily glide through his black locks.
After a minute of peaceful silence and sound approvals from him he reluctantly let you go because he was hungry.
Quietly you walked out of your room and headed towards the entrance to the pick up the food from the delivery driver.
"Thank you." You said taking the bag of food and turning back to head inside.
"(name)!" Mina exclaimed.
"Crapโ€ฆ" you muttered to yourself and looked to your left to see everyone making their way towards the dorms.
"We missed you!" Hagakure said as she hugged you tightly.
"We were waiting on you but Bakugo said you had a friend over." Sero said.
"oh uh ha ha yโ€•yeah." You chuckled awkwardly.
Mina furrowed her eyebrows looking at you intently.
Your averted her gaze knowing she was trying to read you.
"You have a boyfriend don't you?!" She accused.
"Wโ€•wellโ€ฆ he is a boy and he is as friendโ€•"
"You're telling me someone already got to you first before I had a chance?!" Kaminari yelled, "I'll kill him!"
"Who are you going to tell, Kaminari?" Sero questioned, crossing his arms in front of his chest, not believing what he was saying.. "You easily get scared when someone talks to you when you're not paying attention."
"Tโ€•that is not true!"
"Is it that idiot from earlier?" Bakugo spoke.
"You saw him?!" Mina yelled, shaking him back and forth by his collared shirt.
"Get the hell off of me you alien eyes!"
The bakusquad gathered around him, questioning him about everything and anything that had to do with your secret mysterious boyfriend.
Midoriya, Iida, Todoroki, Uraraka, and Yaoyorozu walked over to you not wanting to do anything with what was going on behind them.
"Do you really haveโ€ฆ a boyfriend?" Midoriya asked.
You shook your head, "No no no, he isn't my boyfriend I swear!"
"We believe you, it's justโ€ฆ" Uraraka paused trying to think of a way to say what she wanted to without doubting you. "You look a bit flustered."
"I'm flustered bโ€•because I'm embarrassed."
"Not to over ask but isn't that a big bag of food for two people?" Todoroki asked.
"She's probably under fed and needed some extra food." Iida answered for you, feeling relief he at least wasn't doubting what you were saying.
"Rโ€•Right of course!' Yaoyorozu agreed. "I have to do the same because of my quirk.
And to add more fuel to the fire your phone rang and the screen lit up with a single letter, D <;3.
It caught everyone's attention, including the bakusquad.
"Sorry guysโ€ฆ" you apologized and answered the phone. "Heyโ€ฆ"
"Hey, what's taking you so long?"
"Oh hey, no I'm just talking with some of my friends. And you?"
Dabi walked over to your window and slightly peeked from behind the curtains to see you surrounded by all of your classmates. An idea popped into his head.
"Do you need me to get you out of there?" Dabi couldn't help but smile at how nervous and cute you looked.
"No not at all, I'm fineโ€ฆ really." You assured him smiling as you looked at your friends.
"Put me on speaker, I'm sure they're dying to hear from me." He suggested, "I can help you get away."
"It's fine."
"Put him on speaker!" Mina exclaimed.
Dabi breathed out a laugh, amused by your friends persistence. "Come on doll."
"Okay." You moved your phone away from your ear and pressed on the button. "You're on speakerโ€•"
"Are you really her boyfriend?!" Kaminari yelled out hiding slightly behind Kirishima.
"Hey, well to be honest I have made anything official yet."
Dabi had changed his voice, it didn't sound anything like him, it felt you were talking to someone different.
"No surprise there." Bakugo spoke.
"I will soon though I doubt you'll be able to beat me though."
"What the hell did you say?!" Bakugo got pulled back by Kirishima and Kaminari. "I'll beat your ass youโ€•"
"Kacchan!" Midoriya yelled, "Calm down."
"Are you serious about her or are you two just friends?" Yaoyorozu asked.
"We are friends, I have known her for a while but can't deny she makes my heart go crazy when I see her." Dabi answered.
The back of your eyes turned red, along with your cheeks.
"You shouldn't say those thingsโ€ฆ" You said.
"I'm not lying when I say that you are special, (name)."
"Okay that is kinda cute." Tsu said.
"Sounds to me like it won't be long before you make a move." Mina teased looking at you.
"Maybe." Dabi chuckled. "It was nice talking to you guys, but I have to go."
"Awe! so soon mysterious boyfriend?" Hagakure pouted.
"I'll make sure to let (name) pass the phone to speak to you guys again."
"You wish!" Bakugo exclaimed.
"For sure, maybe next time we can have a longer conversation." Kirishima spoke.
"Take care of her for me alright ladies?" Dabi asked, "I know the guys will do as well."
"We will make sure your little flower is taken care of." Mina smiled.
"Fore sure!" Uraraka chimed in, "We promise."
"Ribbit!" Tsu said.
"You guys make me feel reassured, I'll talk to you guys next time!"
Everyone bit him goodbye, you put him off speaker and walked inside with everyone following you.
Quickly you made your way towards your room hoping to avoid any questions your classmates might have.
"Did that help?" He walked away from the window and sat down on the bed.
"You made me turn red, Dabi." you whispered. "I almost did not recognize your voice."
"I had to change it given that they already know who I am."
"I knowโ€ฆ I just did not expect it. I'm almost at my room, I'll see you in a sec."
Hanging up you opened your door and walked inside, Dabi took the bag from your hands and put it on your desk.
"Did you like my voice?"
You shook your head, "Iโ€ฆ like your normal voice."
"Really?" he bit his bottom lip smiling.
"It suits you better."
He couldn't help but wrap his arms around your waist from behind, you could feel his breath tickling your neck. ''Being your boyfriendโ€ฆ would that suit me better too?"
Your face turned beet red, you covered your face with your hands feeling your heart beating out of your chest.
"You're cute when you blush."
"Yโ€•you shouldn't say stuff like thatโ€ฆ" you muttered.
"Why not?"
"Bโ€•becauseโ€ฆ" you stuttered getting out of his hold. "You only say those words when you mean them nโ€•not just to joke around."
Dabi then moved to stand in front of you, blocking your way. You were too shy to look at him in the eyes. However he did not back own and took your hands.
"Who said I was joking around, doll?"
"You always say stuff like thatโ€ฆ" you mumbled, "And laugh every time I get beet red by your comments."
"Have you noticed that you are the only constant female in my life?"
"Well yeah... doesn't mean you might fall for someone in the futureโ€•"
"If that had been the case I would be with them and not with you right now." He pointed out, "Look at me doll."
You felt hesitation, deep down you hoped your feelings would be reciprocated. Then again if he did and your relationship failed you would also lose a dear friend in the process, something you did not want to face.
"Please..."
With those simple letters you were always a sucker for him.
Giving in, you tilted your head to look at him in the eyes. His blue orbs shining brightly as he looked down into your beautiful (eye color) orbs.
"I really do, like you (name)."
Your eyes widened at his confession, you were too stunned to speak.
"I do not want you think that I'm joking around and only hope to get something from you because that isn't what I want." He sincerely spoke, bringing your face closer to yours. "I want to be with youโ€• even if it means sneaking around and visiting you until midnight when everyone else is asleep."
"Iโ€•I like you too... I have for awhile now but I-I don't want our friendship to end if it doesn't turn out to be like how we hoped it wouldโ€•"
"No relationship is going to be perfect, doll." His eyes scanned all your beautiful features from the way your dimples that rested on your cheeks when you smiled to the beauty mark you have on your (your face feature) that complimented your (color skin) skin. "I won't lie and say that I will be perfect for you because hellโ€• I'm not! I think you deserve better than me but I don't want to keep pretending like I don't have feelings for you."
"Honestly..." a faint smile rested on your lips, "Even if others confess to me I would tell them no... because you are the only one I want to sneak around with in the middle of the night."
"Are we... giving this a chance then?..."
You nodded, "I want to."
You never thought that it would be possible to see Dabi smile so big. It wasn't the same smile he gave you whenever he saw you, it was different. This smile actually reached his eyes.
He demonstrated actual happiness.
With wide smiles you both leaned in, feeling your noses bump against each other before your lips finally connected as one.
Your eyes closed trying to remember this moment, your first time kissing one another with no intention of it going over board. It was a kiss between two people that cared deeply about each other.
Dabi could feel his heart racing rapidly, feeling it thump against his rib cage. It was scary to him, knowing he now had someone important in his life that he knew he needed to protect at all costs. Without a doubt it may bring chaos and put him in danger but that didn't matter to him. All that mattered was that he had you, you were finally his.
After a minute of slow kissing you both pulled away, resting against each other's forehead with heavy breathing.
He smiled widely and pecked your lips, "You're so damn beautiful."
A villain and a hero in training, who would have thought.

"Can you fly me around with your ice?!" a child exclaimed looking up at the bi-colored hero with excitement.
"Uum... ice is technically to hard to fly around with." He explained with crossed arms, "But I can transport you to places...almost like a car I guess?"
"Why the hell are we even here for?!" The blonde yelled looking annoyed with the amount of weird questions that he kept on getting.
"Come on, Kaachan." His friend calmly said, "You said you wanted to tag along too remember?"
"Y-yeah to teach them about being a hero," Kaachan explained. "N-not to deal with weird kids who won't even listen a word I f-"
"Language, Bakugo." Best Jeanist interrupted him. "Remember we are an example for these future heroes."
He looked away, grumbling under his breath.
"Then why is feathers, flirting with the teachers?" He questioned pointing at Hawks, "I thought we were supposed to talk with the kids!"
Best Jeanist followed his pointing finger and saw Hawks talking with you. He sighed, knowing this was going to happen eventually but thought it would take longer than five minutes.
"Make sure to keep an eye on the students." He said talking to Endeavor and walked over to your group.
"I gotta say I'm amazed at how high the kids spirits are." Keigo said looking at you. "Nowadays it is difficult to make sure they don't lose hope just because they're not like everyone else."
You knew he meant those words sincerely, especially since the cases of bullying have risen recently.
"I honestly at times can't protect them from feeling like an outsider in a world where they belong." You explained looking at them as they surrounded the dirty blonde with happiness. "I want to do all I can to make sure their confidence isn't broken when they go to junior high. They deserve to feel like heroes in their own lives whether they have quirks or not."
"Our colleagues and friends have focused on making sure their worth isn't justified by the family their born into or the quirk their relatives might have that they don't." Mio added, "We want them to live like the kids they are."
"Whether they decide to go into a field of public service or pursue a career of what they're passionate about we don't want them to forget their worth." Hizashi spoke up, "They're just as important as heroes."
Keigo saw the look of endearment and passion in your eyes. It was visibly shown to anyone who looked your way, how much you care about them. Now he understands why you stayed up most nights when he visited your family, you were preparing lesson plans even on your days off.
"Hawks!"
He jumped back in surprise seeing Best Jeanist standing in front of him. Keigo composed himself and gave him a dazzling smile making Mio swoon over him.
"Hey buddy! How are the kids treating you?"
"You are supposed to be with them as well, they've been asking about you." He said.
"I just came over here for a minute to talk with some of their teachers." Keigo explained, "Let me introduce you to Mio Takahashi, Rio Hizashi, and last but not least (first name) (last name)."
"It's very nice to meet you." Best Jeanist said shaking each of your hands.
"No, the pleasure is all ours." You said as Mio and Hizashi nodded. "I'm very happy to see everyone took some time to come and visit our students during their sports festival. We really appreciate it, it means a lot to them to see you guys."
"Hawks called us over as soon as he got the call from the principle." He explained, "We did not hesitate to agree, we wanted to come and meet them."
You knew he was such a humble hero but your respect for him went far above and beyond.
"Ah, Mr. Hawks! Mr. Best Jeanist!" The principle yelled out. "Our next event is about to start soon, we would love for you to participate with our students."
"Of course we would be honored to help out the little heroes!" Keigo exclaimed.
"Thank you!" She smiled, "The next event will be a tug of war between all classes. You can go ahead and choose a class as well as your students, we would love it if they joined in too."
"I'll go and let them know." Best Jeanist said.
"Do you mind if I tag along too?"
"Not at all."
It was plainly obvious that the principle had a crush on him, or really admired him.
"Mrs. Kimura is a big, fan huh?" Keigo said.
"That goes without saying." You chuckled lightly.
"Oh, (name) do you have the number tags?" Hizashi asked.
"Right, I forgot to bring them out." You sigh, "I'll go get them."
"Is it alright if I tag along?" Keigo asked looking at you sweetly.
"I can go-" Hizashi was about to say but you shook your head.
"It's alright. It shouldn't take me too long."
"I insist, plus I kinda wanna see the school from the inside too." Keigo insisted.
Looking in between them it was hard to choose, still Keigo decided to come and visit you at your work place.
"Okay," you said earning a smile from him. "You did take some time to come see the students so I'll give you a tour then."
"Awesome!"
You looked at Hizashi, "We'll be back in a bit."
He nodded and you two walked off by yourselves towards your classroom. As soon as you got some more distance and were sure there was no one else you spoke up.
"How come you did not tell me that you were coming?"
Keigo stopped, you mirrored his movement, to look at you.
"I wanted it to be a surprise." He explained, "I've seen the way you work yourself out for them." His hands rested on your shoulders, slowly they went down your arms, giving your body goosebumps, and stopped on both your wrists. "I wanted to meet the students that stole my wife's heart."
"I'm just- I'm still surprised that you're here, Keigo." You softly spoke, "It feels somewhat normal... like you came to visit on a random day..." There was a bit of hesitation on the last words you wanted to say to him.
A smile formed on his face as he used one of his hands to reach up and hold your cheek.
"Like a husband does?" He said, "Visiting his wife at her work place?"
Your lips parted, "Well-"
"I admit it I did not know if it was a good idea to come considering how things have been. But... when I heard it was the name of the same school you were working at I did not want to waste any time and automatically said yes without thinking."
Keigo was... interested in my school, because of me?
"I only heard a few stories about this place." He continued looking around at the colored walls that separates each classroom from the last. His eyes then landed on yours, his smile not faltering. "I wanted to visit the place that holds a special place in your heart... in hopes to learn more about you."
"K-keigo..."
With every person you had ever known, they never managed to make you feel like he does. Given that you have only known him for less than four months, it blows you away. Keigo was different, in your eyes.
"You have no idea how much it means to me that you're here." You confessed, "My parents are far too busy and far away to come see where I work. Himiko... well things are difficult with her at the moment. I wanted to share my everyday life with someone, to tell them about the shenanigans or activities my students did. Now that I got married to you and I have been able to tell you about it all , it's made my life a whole lot better than I ever realized."
Keigo's heart started to pick up a different type of rhythm.
"Keigo I-!" your eyes widened for a moment then they faltered, making his smile disappear.
"Tell me what you're thinking, (name)."
Biting your lip you tried to figure out if what you wanted to say would affect him in some way. Right now you felt blessed to have someone like him in your life. Keigo became another piece to your whole puzzle. A piece you weren't sure yet about how important his part has played a role.
"Whatever it might be," he gently tilted your head back to meet your eyes. "You can tell me."
Your eyes started to get covered with a transparent liquid, making it quite blurry to see.
"I did not realize how much you would change my life..." You blinked the tears letting them roll down your cheek but as always he was there to prevent them from hitting the ground. "I mean I know I-I sometimes over phrase everything and think it but don't say it. Up until now I watched the little things you have done for me even since before we ever got married."
As you spoke, our brain started to replay all those moments.
"You never hesitated to get closer to me even when I was too shy to speak. Anyone else would have given up but you didn't. I don't know if since then I felt safe to be with you but as time passes by and we spend time together... you're someone I do not ever want leaving my side."
"I'm starting to realize the same thing," On instinct he leaned his head down closer trying to close the gap between you both. "Everyday you are making me the happiest person than I ever was. You are molding me into someone better, and I want you to know that you are the reason because of this."
"Keigo..." you breathed out feeling tears slipping faster.
His eyes travelled down from your (color lips) lips to your eyes hoping to get a sign or a one word answer to his silent plea.
Little by little you felt yourselves gravitating to towards one another, closing the gap between you both. Your eyes not breaking away from one another. Slowly, leaning in giving the other enough time to pull away in case there was regret.
What seemed like inches away suddenly became just a centimeter between you both. Without any sign of hesitation, your lips finally met in the middle.
Eyes widening with surprise knowing well this was what you both wanted.
Keigo's eyes closed first as he started to lose himself in your lips. His hands holding both your cheeks, feeling him pulling you closer to him, wanting to get as close as possible.
Your body suddenly started to feel lighter. The weight you once felt on every limb suddenly disappeared. You were too shocked to close your eyes until you felt the way his lips moved in sync with your own.
Slowly they began to close, your hands moving to rest on each side of his waist. You started to sense the way your body was feeling against his.
As cliche as it sounds, it truly did feel like both your hearts were connected in that moment.
In his whole life he had vowed to never get romantically involved. All he wanted and focused on was protecting his mom from his villain father. He needed for her to feel safe in this world, without any fear of a villain attacking her.
But his view then changed once he met you. All of a sudden his world didn't seem so closed off. You became part of his life despite knowing everything about him, even then, you stayed. You opened up to him about things he never thought about.
And just like that, he grew accustomed to your routine of waking up, making breakfast, dinner, or waiting up for one another to make it back home safe and sound. It was a ritual, no, a rhythm he wanted to continue feeling for as long as you'd allow him to.
With flushed faces you both parted your lips, but your hold stayed still on one another.
"T-that... um." Keigo chuckled lightly suddenly feeling shy.
But you were in the same boat, "Y-yeah."
Both of you then erupted into soft laughter, you did not quite understood if it was the rush of how amazing it felt kissing one another or the fact that you were embarrassed to look at each other after such an intimate kiss.
Still, you looked at each other with happy filled dazed faces.
"(n-name)?"
The color drained from each other's faces as you heard a familiar voice calling out to you.
"Did you just-" they shook their head not even wanting to finish the sentence. "You didn't really... kiss Hawks, right?..."
Keigo held your hand tightly, intertwining his fingers with your own in a protective gesture.
"Mio..." Your close friend wasn't alone, "Hizashi..."
"What is going on?..." Hizashi questioned not bothering to look at Keigo.
"Listen... I swear that there's a good reason-"
"What reason is there for him to kiss you like that?!" He yelled.
Keigo stepped forward, "Let's not start yelling okay? We can talk it out like the adults we are-"
"I wasn't talking to you." Hizashi retorted, "For all I know you're just using her."
"Hizashi, Mio..." You sighed looking at them both. "I'm sorry I did not tell you the truth... but the person I married his Hawks."
"What?..."
"B-but you said he was a regular person!" Mio exclaimed.
"I'm sorry for deceiving you... I had to make up a fake husband in order to keep my real marriage a secret." You explained, "I had no other choice... we did not want to risk anything bad happening."
"Like what?" Mio asked not fully understanding anything that's going on. "What bad thing could possibly happen?"
"Listen, there's still some villains who are trying to settle the score with me." Keigo said, "The battle may be over but there's no telling when they might attack. I did not want to put (name) in harm's way."
"The why did you even ask her to marry you if this marriage was going to be a secret?"
"He didn't ask me to marry him." You said, "I was the one who asked him in exchange for a favor he was doing for my parents."
"You-"
"There you guys are!" The principle smiled as she approached you, "Miss (Last Name) did you find those number tags that we need?"
"Y-yeah! I apologize I got side tracked with showing Hawks around the school." You awkwardly chuckled.
"No worries, I understand. But please make sure to hurry the parents have been waiting along with the heroes."
"I will!" You exclaimed trying to smile as she looked at you before walking away. Once she was gone you turned to look at both your friends. "I know there's a lot of questions you both must have and I want to answer them."
"(name)'s right, you both are close to her and deserve to know the truth." Keigo said, "Why don't you two come by our house after the event is over with? We can explain it there more calmly."
Hizashi looked at Mio, and she looked back at him. There was uncertainty in each other's eyes, not knowing if there was any explanation to this situation.
"Okay." Mio said, "We'll come by after school after all this event is for the students and I don't want to ruin it for them."
Hizashi agree. "She's right, it is best if we talk somewhere private."
You nodded feeling a small relief that they'd be willing to hear you out. "Thank you."
"Alright is everyone ready?!" You spoke into the microphone, looking out at the scene in front of you.
"We're not losing!" Bakugo yelled feeling determined to win. "You guys better be pulling your weight too!"
"We are not about to let them win!" Sato exclaimed, "We're going to easily win this round."
"That's what I'm talking about!"
Midoriya started to feel a bit nervous now, "He sure does know how to get them excited it seems."
"Mr. Deku?" Suzuki spoke tugging at his sleeve. "Do you... think we're going to win?..."
Midoriya smiled, "Well they're good opponents I won't lie, but that doesn't mean we're going to lose without a fight right?"
"R-right!"
"On my mark," you said. "Ready?... Pull!"
"Start pulling!" Bakugo yelled.
"We can do this!" Midoriya retorted looking straight ahead as he pulled with all the strength he had.
"You're going down nerd!" He smirked gritting his teeth as he tugged at the long rope.
"I gotta say, they're an interesting group." You chuckled.
"I apologize for his sudden outbursts," Best Jeanist spoke. "He's a very explosive hero."
You shook your head, "Not at all. I understand, it's passion. If I had a quirk as well I'd probably be the same way as him."
"Does the principle not hire anyone who has a quirk?"
"Initially that was her plan but lately since more and more people are being born with quirks they usually take the route of becoming a hero." You explained, "These students might be the last ones to come here."
"What do you mean?"
Turning to look at him you continued, "A lot of more schools are being built and are being equipped with qualified teachers to help control their quirks. This school was built for people like us. We're normal teachers, so it won't be so surprising if they decide to tear this school down in the future."
"But there's still students who need teachers like you to guide them into the right path, whether they have a quirk or not."
A small smile formed on your lips, "I still have the thought o continuing to teach even if this school won't be here anymore. But it's hard to find a way to land a job at times."
"I promise we're going to try and figure something out." He said resting his hand on your shoulder. "This school has a great group of teachers, that need to continuing teaching."
"Thank you, Best Jeanist." You said, "It means a lot to have a heroes support for us regular folks."
"Hey!"
You jumped back in surprise.
Bakugo yelled looking a you, "Aren't you going to announce the winner?!"
"R-right, sorry about that!" You yelled back and picked up the microphone. "The winner is team Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight!"
Best Jeanist even clapped for him, making him smile wider in victory. The students then surrounded him, Sato ended up being carried and placed on his shoulder for the photo.
"Sorry, we couldn't win." Midoriya apologized.
You spoke walking over to them, "Don't. Everyone put in their effort and I can tell they had fun."
"Miss (last name)!" Suzuki yelled, as he rushed over to hug you.
"You guys did a great job." You wrapped your arm him, smiling softly. "I saw how strong you were pulling, Suzuki."
He shyly smiled, "I-I was able to do it... b-because of Mr. Deku's help. H-he helped me, by encouraging me."
"Thank you for lifting up his spirits. Suzuki tends to be a bit shy sometimes." You said looking at him, "I'm happy he got the chance to be on your team."
"Oh it was nothing." Midoriya smiled with a tilted head. "I'm happy they had fun even though we did not get to win."
"You were amazing!" Suzuki yelled pulling away from you and hugging him instead. "You're an amazing hero, Mr. Deku."
Midoriya's eyes lit up, his hold then tightened as he held Suzuki in his arms.
You decided to walk over to the rest of your students to congratulate them as well.
"Miss (last name)! Did you see me?!" Sato exclaimed. "Did you see how much I was pulling the rope?!"
"I did!" Crouching down in front of her you continued, "You guys did a great job pulling on that rope."
"It was all because I told them how to properly pull." Bakugo spoke with crossed arms in front of his chest.
"He did! Did you know it's best to lean back and plant your feet on the ground?!" She yelled with amazement. "It worked so cool!"
"I did not know that." You looked up at him, "You're quite an impressive hero Mr. Great Murder Explosion God Dynamight."
Bakugo's cheeks turned a light red, "O-of course I am!"
As the events progressed from last rounds of tug of war to the bigger obstacle course between heroes, your mind got distracted.
There was an anxious feeling in your chest, as the sports festival was starting to come to a close. You kept thinking about how your two close friend's would react to knowing the truth about it all.
All you could do was pray and hope that they would stay by your side to support you.
"Everything okay?" Keigo asked as he helped fold up the tables.
"Y-yeah..."
He placed the last table down next to the wall, "(name), I can tell something is on your mind."
"I'm just a bit worried about talking with them is all."
"Hey, everything is going to be fine." Keigo softly, reaching over to your hand to hold it for a second before pulling away. "They're your close friends, they care about you. So I'm sure they'll understand."
You nodded, "You're right... Hizashi and Mio will understand."
Keigo gave you a soft smile and looked both ways before he leaned down and pecked your lips.
"Keigo... s-someome could see us."
"Why do you think I did it quickly?" He teased, making you chuckle.
"Mr. Hawks!" You both looked to the side to see some of your students rushing over to him.
"Hey! What are you kiddos still doing here?"
"You're going to come back and visit right?!" Your youngest Sakura asked.
"Yeah you have to!" Hinata yelled, "You need to come back and see us!"
"Well I certainly hope so." Keigo answered ruffling his hair, "I would love to come back and visit you guys."
"Next time you'll take us somewhere to fly right?" Seiyo asked.
"Guys," you interrupted. "He may have a lot of feathers but he doesn't have enough to take you. He's a hero after all, he's going to them too."
"Awe!" Hinata whined, "Then can you make sure to tell him to come again next week, Miss (last name)?!"
"Yeah, will you ever invite me again Miss (last name)?" Keigo tagged along and even made puppy dog eyes.
He did look quite adorable.
"If it was for me I'd be happy to bring him back again to visit but it isn't up to me." You said, hearing their disappointment sighs. "But I will try and ask the principle."
"Yay!" Your students yelled.
"Now it's time to go home, okay?" You said seeing their parents waiting by the gate. "Your parents are waiting for you guys."
They nodded and bid Keigo goodbye, a smile rested on his face as he watched your students running, enjoying themselves without worry.
"They're an interesting group of kids," he said and turned to look at you. "They're going to go far someday."
"I hope I can continue to lead them down the right path."
"You will, they are lucky to have a teacher like you. I wished I had one exactly like you when I was a kid."
"Well if you ever need a teacher, I'm here." you chuckled lightly.
Keigo pulled you into a tight hug, not caring about anyone seeing you two. All he wanted was to hold you close and you weren't going to deny that a hug from him is what you needed the most.

"Woah what is going on?" Keigo asked bewildered.
You quickly walked passed him to your room, "I have stuff to prepare for today's school event!"
He scratched the side of his head watching as you walked from one room to the other. "Well... is everything okay? Do you need a hand?"
"I have most things done." You calmly said grabbing two bags from your room and settling it down beside the living room couch.
"Today's..." Keigo mumbled knowing today was an important day. You had mentioned it to him a few days prior to today's big date. "Oh!" He snapped his fingers together, remembering. "The sport's festival!"
"Yeah!" You exclaimed going into the kitchen and taking out some ingredients from the fridge.
"Do you need a hand?" He walked over, standing in front of the counter watching as you started to make small balls of rice in your hand.
"Um can you get me out the filling? I forgot to take it out." You answered, making a small curved spot in the rice to put in the filling.
"Sure!" Taking the container out labeled with "rice ball filling" he placed it next to you down on the marbled counter. "Can I help make some of them?"
A smile rested on your lips, nodding. "Make sure you wet your hands in the water so the rice doesn't stick to your hands."
"Got it."
"Have you made some before?" You asked grabbing a spoon and scooping some of the filling to put in the middle.
"I used to make them plain when I was a kid." He answered as he recalled his childhood being difficult for a kid his age. "We were poor... sometimes it was hard to make any money to bring home and put food on the table. My father was a criminal who stole, my mom didn't have the guts to leave him. So I had to be creative with the food we did have."
Your eyes began to water. You knew very little about his past life, he only said bits and pieces assuming it wasn't something he was comfortable talking about. You couldn't picture a child his age going through such trauma and violence. Keigo was the sweetest person you had ever met, realizing he went through something like that made your heart ache for him.
Keigo noticed you had become quiet, the half made rice ball sat on the empty plate. He placed his own down and turned to look at you, silent tears ran down your cheeks with your hands clenched tightly.
"(name)... are youโ€•?"
You shook your head, "Iโ€•I'm fine..." Sniffling you wiped away your tears. "I'm sorry..."
"Hey, why are you crying?" He softly spoke, placing both hands on each of your cheeks and wiped the tears that escaped gently with his thumbs.
"It's justโ€•" you sniffled trying to speak but became difficult to say anything when you kept remembering what he had told you. "You're an incredible human being... so honest and kind. Someone who doesn't hesitate to save an innocent bystander or lend a hand to someone in need. Knowing you went through something so traumatizing... it breaks my heart because you don't deserve that."
His eyes softened, pulling you into a tight embrace. Gently he caressed the back of your head, smiling with such fondness knowing you cared.
"It happened a long time agoโ€•"
"Sโ€•still... I never pictured your past to be so harsh to you." You shut your eyes tightly trying to stop the tears. "I'm sorry I wasn't there to lend a hand oโ€•or even be there to console you when you were just a child."
"(name)." he kissed the side of your head, "I'm okay... actually the day that Endeavor caught my father and put him away in jail was something I never expected to feel good about."
You slightly pulled away to look at him. "Rโ€•really?"
Keigo nodded holding the side of your face. "It gave me the ability to take that weight off of my chest. He wasn't a good person and knowing he was gone made me feel reassured that my mom would be safe."
"Have you seen her... at all?"
"I went to go see her after I was out of the hospital when everything happened but she wasn't there anymore."
"I'm sorry... Iโ€•I did not know..."
Smiling small he rubbed both sides of your arms comforting you, "Don't apologize, maybe for time being it's best if she's away from the city for awhile. I want her to be safe, who knows maybe in the future I'll take you to go meet her."
"I would like to meet her someday." His wings slightly opened wide hearing you. "I want to... understand where you came from and learn more about you."
There was no clear answer as to what it was about you or the way you talked that brought him comfort. A feeling he had long forgotten about since he was a kid, the longer he stayed around with you the more he was starting to see what it meant to care about someone else.
The sound of your phone ringing broke the moment apart, you pulled away to answer the call. Meanwhile, a smiling Keigo went back to making the small rice balls for your students.
"(name)! Are you almost here?" Mio asked as she started to set up the tables while holding her phone between her ear and shoulder.
"Yโ€•yeah, I am currently finishing getting everything else that I need." You said, "How's the set up going?"
'We are currently half way, the students are doing some last minute practice for the event."
"Are the parents starting to arrive as well?" You asked.
"Um some... but there's still a lot more left for them to arrive." She explained, "Do you need any help?"
"No it's alright I should be leaving in a couple of minutes." Walking over to the counter you started to pack what was already done.
"Great! I kinda need a hand with some last minute thingsโ€•" Mio looked over at two of her students playing with the water. "Rei! Chi! I told you both to place the water balloons not to throw them around." She sighed, "I have to go before these two end up soaking wet, I'll see you soon."
Chuckling you nodded, even though she couldn't see you. "Okay, good luck with those two."
"These rice balls are done." Keigo proudly smiled as they were individually wrapped tightly in seran wrap.
"Keigo, they look amazing!" You smiled at him, "Thank you for helping me out."
"Is there anything else I can help you with?" He leaned over the counter to look at you.
"Thank you for the the offer, but everything else is already handled."
He slightly pouted, "Okay."
Walking over to him you held the side of his face gently. Keigo leaned in to your touch feeling goosebumps rise on his body.
"It sucks you can't be there to meet my students." You half smiled, "They would have loved to see you."
"Trust me it would have been an honor to meet the kids who are being taught by an amazing teacher."
Leaning in, you kissed his cheek softly. "I should get going."
Keigo nodded letting you go. He ended up calling a taxi for you to take you to school along with helping you to carry your belongings and food.
Resting his forearm against the doorway, "Let me know when you arrived?"
"I will." You said and waved at him goodbye.
He waited for you until he made sure you left safely to school and quickly got ready to leave.
Upon arriving at school you thanked the driver and did your best to juggle all the things you had to bring.
"Woah." A chuckle was heard, coming from behind you. "How much stuff did you bring?"
Looking over your shoulder you saw it was Hizashi. "Care to lend a hand though?"
"Sorry," smiling he walked over and grabbed the bags off of your shoulders. "I did not expect you to bring these many things."
"I saw how hard everyone was working and wanted to make some food, or well treats for them." You explained walking beside him.
"Did your husband lend you a hand?"
"He did," you smiled walking inside the building. "I hope everyone likes the rice balls."
"You did the same filling?"
"Yup!"
"Then everything will be fine." Hizashi assured you, "All the kids are excited to begin soon."
"Hizashi!" Rapid footsteps could be heard getting louder as they approached you both. "We need your help setting up the last of the tables outside please."
He sighed, "I thought Rei was helping you Mio."
"He was called in to the principal's office, there's only one more table left to set up... I promise!" Mio clasped her hands together, begging. "Please?..."
"Alright." Placing the things down he motioned for her to lead the way, "I'll be back to help you (name)."
You waved him off, "I got this, there's no need to."
"Thank you!" Mio exclaimed, relief she quickly walked down the hallway and out to the open field.
As you were putting your things away and leading the food onto your small cart you got a message from your sister.
Himiko | 8:05 AM
I wanted to let you know that I talked with mom and dad about your situation.
"You're kidding right?..." you cursed under your breath immediately replying to her back.
You | 8:06 AM
Why did you even think that was going to be okay? They know about it, I agreed to do this.
Your phone then started to loudly ring in the empty classroom, with your sister's name flashing on the screen.
"I am not going to stand by and let you stay with him!" Himiko expressed, "This isn't the life you should be living."
"And I told you HImiko to stop questioning everything I do." You continued without even taking a moment to breathe, you were livid. "Why do you insist on resolving an issue when there isn't one?!"
"Because there is! Do you know how fucked up it is for you to have been part of the bargain in order for dad to get financial help?!"
You tried your very hardest to calm down the pulsing feeling in your head by breathing in and out deeply. "Look, Himiko this marriage isn't yours to butt into."
"What happened to my sister who wanted to pick out her special partner?" She questioned, "The one who couldn't wait to find the one and be happy with someone who actually cares about you? Are you seriously telling me that you do not care about that stuff anymore?"
"I have always dreamed of having someone special in my life but things sometimes don't go the way you want them to okay-"
"I know right now you're too new at your marriage and you do not fully understand what it means t be tied down to one person."
"Yes I do!" You retorted but of course it wasn't enough for your sister.
"No you do not, (name). The further you stay in this arranged marriage the more miserable you'll be." She ran her fingers through her hair, sighing deeply. "I've seen it first hand myself... people change and not for the better. Being in secret and locked up in a foreign place does things to you. I don't want my sister to go through that not if I can help it."
"I'm sorry you think that way... but my situation isn't the same. Keigo is the sweetest person I have met, he's attentive and caring." You said trying to open her eyes to how your marriage really was. "He always makes sure that I am okay and looks out for me. We wait up for each other when the other gets home late a-and we stay up talking about our day." A smile formed on your lips as you recalled each moment with him. "I may still not know what marriage is... but this is the best relationship I ever been in Himiko. And I am not going to let your insinuations and judgement ruin something that might evolve."
Himiko's voice faltered, "You're going to regret it, (name). And I won't hesitate to tell you I told you so."
"Maybe I will... or maybe I won't. That doesn't mean I'm going to sit back and listen to you. So you can try all you want... but I'm not going to give up on Keigo."
You ended the call before you let her get in another word. It pained you to fight with the only sibling you had in your life, but you were going to stand your ground no matter what.
Blinking away the loose tears you grabbed your full cart and made your way to where your students were waiting for you. This day was about them and you weren't about to ruin it with your problems or negative emotions.
"Miss, (last name)!" Sato exclaimed running over to you. Her little arms wrapping around your waist as he bend down to hug her with one arm as well. "It's about to start!"
"I know," you smiled. "Are you excited to have some fun?"
She confidently smiled looking up at you. "I'm ready to win."
"I can tell you won't be one to give up without a fight."
Sato nodded, "Do you need help Miss?"
"It's actually not a lot but thank you for offering to help out." You said, "You should get warmed up in the meanwhile."
"I'm waiting for Sayo and Tadashi too!" She mentioned, "Suzuki is with his parents."
"I see, did yours arrive yet?"
"Yup! They promised to cheer me on and watch me from the stands!"
"I'm glad to hear that-"
"Hana! Let's go take a picture before the events starts sweetie." Her mom yelled.
Sato nodded at her direction and turned back to look at you. "I promise I'll make you proud!" She waved at you as she ran back to her parents.
You smiled back waving at her as well.
Sometimes it was crazy to see that one day your students will end up graduating soon. All hope you is that they end up continuing with their lives, happy without any worry or caring about anyone else's opinion about themselves. You wish you could shield them from harmful things, but you knew those lessons are some they need to learn as well.
A little over an hour later and the event was finally beginning. All the classes from different grades were already sorted into different groups for the events. The teachers stood on the sidelines waiting for it to start.
"Miss (Last Name) would you do us the honors and start the event?" The principle asked as she handed you the microphone.
"Of course." Taking the microphone you walked over to the small podium where one of the students stood on. Turning on the mic you then spoke, "Hello, everyone! I'm very happy to see so many parents joining us for this special fun event. I know all of our kiddos have practiced non stop to make this a memorable day. We hope you enjoy yourselves and cheer them on as loudly as you can. Now we will be listening to one of our top students, Haru Shiota."
You gave the student and encouraging smile as you handed him the microphone. "You've got this."
They nodded and took it with shaky hands. His eyes roamed the huge crowd of unknown adults and students.
"Tโ€•thank you... fโ€•for joining us today!" Shiota stuttered, "We hope to make you pโ€•proud!"
Everyone clapped, you ruffled his hair a bit trying to comfort him. Luckily he was able to breathe again, with a bounce in his step he got off the podium and made his way back to his group.
"The first event will be an obstacle course!" You announced, "Ready?" There was a pause, everyone eagerly waiting for you to say the final word. "Go!"
As soon as the students began to run, the parents started to scream loudly to make sure they heard them. Some of them even ran along with them to get pictures of their child running. It was honestly such a heart warming event to see.
"They're getting close aren't they?" Mio spoke as she walked over to stand by your side.
"Yeah, it's going to be such a close call." You said watching intently as one of your kids was getting closer to third place.
"Do you think your husband would like these type of events?"
"Hm... most likely yeah." A smile lifted on the corner of your lips. "His childhood was very different I'm sure he would have loved to even be part of it."
Mio smiled, "I'm glad to see he's making you happy."
You cheered on your students on as they got closer to the end of the obstacle course.
"Go, Sato!" You yelled, clapping. "You're so close!"
In a moments notice, she was able to take over second and first place in the end. The first win officially went over to your class.
"Yeah!" Mio yelled cheering her own students for winning second place.
Grabbing the mic you spoke into it again, "Congrats to Sato for grabbing first place along with the other two students, Tanaka and Yoshida for winning second and third! Everyone did such an amazing job. Please make sure to get ready for the second event."
"Ooh did you make the rice balls?!" Mio exclaimed as she saw some of the students and staff walking over to the tables filled with food.
"Actually my husband did..." You shyly spoke trying to get used to referring him as your husband.
"I need to try them then! Do you want me to bring you one?"
You shook your head, "I had one earlier, go and enjoy them!"
Mio did not waste another second and quickly headed over to the food section.
A sigh escaped your lips as you closed your eyes then opened them again. Your body started to feel tired, it was mostly mental exhaustion from earlier. Still, it sucked that the people you thought would support you the most were the ones hurting you.
"Miss (Last Name)!" The principal exclaimed, "I forgot to tell you that we have a few guests today!"
You looked at her with a puzzled look, "Guests?..."
She nodded eagerly, smiling from ear to ear. "I was able to talk to some of the heroes and they accepted our invitationโ€•"
A sudden force of wind then grabbed everyone's attention. Hizashi tried to hold onto the tables steady in case they fell over. Mio did her best to hold on to the shade covers as well.
You lifted your arms up to cover yourself form the dust that was picked up because of the wind.
"I apologize for arriving late, I hope the fun hasn't ended yet."
Immediately you recognized that voice, your eyes widened in shock not believing who was standing a few feet away from you.
Keigo smiled at everyone, the kids were shocked seeing he was there in person. But it warmed his heart knowing that he was able to brighten up their day. His eyes scanned the crowd searching for you. A frown started to form on his face until he finally found you.
His eyes glowing brighter than before, he waved at everyone but his eyes pointed at your direction. You couldn't help but smile seeing him, a slight blush covering your cheeks.
It wasn't only him who had arrived, there was also Endeavor and Best Jeanist along with other future heroes who had accompanied them.
The principal quickly grabbed the mic, "Everyone, we have some special guests! Let me introduce you to some of the top heroes of Japan, Endeavor, Hawks, and Best Jeanist! Along with some of Japan's future heroes from U.A High!"
It was unbelievable.
Your students ran eagerly over to them, Endeavor was smiling at them while Best Jeanist crouched down to ruffle their hair.
"Wow, I did not think you'd be able to convince them to come (name)!" Mio said, watching in the same shocked smiled expression as you.
"Iโ€•I didn't..." You explained, "The principle was actually the one who made it possible."
"Well it was your suggestion," Hizashi said standing beside you, "I'm glad it worked out in the end."
Keigo smiled, waving at everyone.
"I can't believe you didn't come through the main door." Best Jeanist said.
"Well I do have wings you know, why not make an epic entrance?" He smirked.
"Because we came together? It would have been best for all of us to show up." Endeavor added.
Best Jeanist shook his head and walked over to the students that were waiting to talk to him.
The students from U.A also interacted with them, some of the teachers even asked them questions.
But the certain golden brown eyes couldn't keep himself from looking at your direction. You had to tell him with your eyes to stop looking over at you and to focus on them.
"Is Hawks, checking you out?" Mio said.
"Wโ€•what no!" You retorted quickly looking away.
"He's curious about you, damn even though you're married you are still getting hit on." She whined, "No fair!"
"Don't be jealous there's guys who check you out too Mio." Hizashi said.
"Yeah but what good does it do if none of them ask me out?!"
Unbeknownst to you, Keigo started to walk over to you three with such confidence in hopes of getting a reaction out of you. There was immediate silence as he looked at you guys. His eyes going from Hizashi to Mio and finally landing on you.
He stretched out his hand, "You must be the teacher the kids keep talking about am I right? Miss (Last Name)?"
You wanted to physically fan yourself to calm down but you knew it would be too obvious. With a calm smile, you shook his hand not being able to ignore how perfectly it molded together with his own.
"Iโ€•It is very nice to meet you, Hawks."

"Are you sure you like that?" Mina questioned as she saw the person you liked fighting with another friend of yours. "I mean no judgement here, everyone has their likes but- come on why do you like him? You're the opposite of him!"
You shrugged looking down at your desk, playing with your fingers. "He has his... well his own defaults I mean who doesn't, right?"
"Yeah but still," she turned her chair to fully face you. "Bakugo is a loud individual. Compared to you, you are quiet and nice. You don't hesitate to help anyone out while he- well..."
Mina wasn't trying hard to berate him persay but it was difficult to even come up with good things. Although they may be acquainted enough sometimes it was difficult to describe him.
"What you think as loud I think he's..." you bit your lip trying to come up with a good definition.
"See!" she exclaimed, "You can't even finish your train of-"
A smile rested on your lips, a total change from your thinking face, as if you had made up your mind already. "He's passionate. Bakugo sees ahead of his own future, he wants to keep climbing to the top to get better."
"And you don't think that might be... I don't know a bit of an obstacle? I mean the guy is clearly focused on only becoming a top hero." Mina explained resting her chin on her open palm. "Wouldn't that be hard in a relationship?"
Your lips parted to speak but looked away feeling too shy to say anything. Mina was already thinking ahead of the whereabouts of your relationship while you had only been focused on what to say to him.
"I-I don't know what might happen Mina." You stuttered.
She sighed, "You need to confess to him the sooner you do the better it will be so your little heart can finally rest at ease."
"Who says my heart isn't at ease?"
"Me."
Chuckling you nodded, "I'll do my best to do that."
During lunch you took your regular seat beside Todoroki while Iida sat down next to Midoriya and Uraraka.
"Are we all going to pair up for the project then?" Todoroki asked as he began to eat his cold soba noodles.
"I assume everyone by now has chosen groups?" Iida asked as he broke apart his chopsticks to eat.
"I think we're all on board as a group." Uraraka answered.
"(name)?"
"Hm?" you looked up to see everyone at the table looking at you. "Uh..."
"Are you okay with being part of the group?" Todoroki asked. "Or did you have already a group you wanted to be with?"
"Oh um... actually-"
"She's part of our group."
You turned around to see Bakugo with his hands in his pockets, walking over to your table along with Kirishima and Mina.
"She is?" Todoroki questioned with narrow eyes, not fully believing him.
Kirishima chuckled sheepishly rubbing the back of his head, "Well we actually asked her if she wanted to be part of our group."
"(name), Ochako!" Mina ran over to you both and hugged you tightly.
"Whatever she didn't say no to begin with." Bakugo said stopping in front of you. Looking down at you, he spoke in a calmer tone. "You are joining us aren't you?"
"I... well-"
Mina wrapped her arm around your neck and whispered into your ear. "Say yes, this will be a great chance to spend time with him. I mean come on look at him changing his voice just to talk to you!"
Biting your bottom lip, you tried to think about her suggestion. it would be a great way to get to know him better and he does want you to join them after all.
Smiling softly you nodded at him. "Sure, if that's alright with everyone?"
"It's not a problem." Midoriya smiled at you.
"We can all hang out and work on our projects together in the living room!" Uraraka suggested.
"That sounds like an excellent way to lend each other a hand if needed." Iida added.
"Then it settled! You are with us, (name)!" Mina exclaimed excitedly.
You chuckled leaning into her touch as your eyes travelled up to look at the dirty blonde, who faintly smiled as he looked at Kirishima and at you.
It was more than just him being kind to you whenever you were around. Bakugo became attentive, if you needed something simple like a pencil or an eraser he would notice and hand you one instantly.
Every time you handed it back to him he insisted you kept it. To him a writing utensil was something insignificant. He could always get one again or an extra pack if he needed to. Even then if it was the last one he had he most always let you borrow it.
Or at times when you two partner up to train during hero studies he gave it his all, never holding back. if at some point you began to doubt yourself he would encourage you.
Being a hero with such a simple quirk could at times be troubling when you see people like Bakugo, someone who was blessed with a powerful quirk.
You had confided it to him one random day as you made your way to school together. You thought you had embarrassed yourself but was surprised instead when Bakugo started to say the opposite.
"Why are you always looking or thinking at what others think?" He looked straight ahead as he spoke. "There's going to be someone better than you that's something you can't stop. Even so, your quirk is useful in situations where mine isn't. You were able to stop that fire from growing at the training camp. Not only that it helped the others escape."
"Well yeah but those actions are only useful during an emergency, when it comes to fighting villains-"
"Then train." Bakugo stopped walking and turned to really look at you. "I've seen you staying after school to improve your quirk. You're already doing half the work the others aren't. If you want to really amp up your quirk then try different things, come up with an ultimate move."
"But it's water-"
"Water is a vile ingredient needed to do certain things... doesn't mean it isn't powerful enough to end villains. You can use it to drown villains as well."
"Drown? Doesn't that mean they die?..."
"You won't kill them, it's not like you have it in you to even do so." Bakugo smiled, "I'll help you. I'll make sure your quirk gets better than it already was."
You looked at him with wide eyes, "Really?..."
He nodded "We'll start training after school."
"Okay!"
"(name)."
Maybe there was a chance that he did feel the same?
"(name)!"
"What?!" you retorted looking around your surroundings to see Mina next to you.
"I've been calling your name and you wouldn't budge." She sighed sitting with criss crossed legs. "What's up?"
"N-nothing I promised!"
Mina gave you a "really" kinda looked knowing you weren't even close to telling the truth.
Bakugo stood up from his seat next to Kirishima and walked over to where you were. "Hey, can you help me with doing some research for this part?" He asked sitting down in between you and Mina, slightly pushing her a bit to the side.
"Hey, I was sitting there!"
He ignored her and solely focused on you.
You mouthed her a sorry.
"Sure, can I see what is it that you need help with?"
"I tried searching up about this part of the island but nothing came up." He explained as you grabbed your laptop and typed into the search icon. "I only found out the date but other than that the geography info was absent."
"Hmm..." you bit your bottom lip in concentration as you scrolled down the countless results.
You could feel his breath tickling the back of your neck, you tried your best to ignore it but it was impossible.
"I-I only see the information you got."
Bakugo cursed under his breath, "What the hell was the point in assigning us this dumb island if there's not enough information."
"Maybe we can check out the online library? There's websites that put historical information for everyone to read."
"The encyclopedia?"
You nodded ticking a piece of hair behind your ear. "Well yeah... I mean there's nothing wrong with trying that. We might find more info on there than searching up on the engine."
"Alright let me grab a pen-"
You dug into your pouch of pencils and pens, taking out the one he had loaned you a long time ago.
"You still have this?" He took the pen from your hand, looking at it thoroughly to see it was still in good condition.
"Yeah, I didn't want to lose it in case you might want it back one day." You shyly looked away, "I figured it could come in handy if you... or someone else might need one."
A faint smile rested on his lips, "You're the first one to even care enough to keep it the same way. I handed one to Kaminari and he lost it the same day."
Chuckling you nodded, "I saw the way you looked at him that day. I kinda fell bad when he looked scared."
He slightly smirked. "That idiot was lucky I wasn't able to do anything to him."
"That's cause you choose to not doing anything bad to him." You teased, "I can tell you care about them even if they annoy you at times."
"I-I do not!" He retorted looking away from you for the first time.
"Mhmm." You smiled looking back to your computer screen and searched up the names island on the encyclopedia page. "Well good news."
"Did you find the info?"
"Yup!" Pushing the laptop closer to him, you pointed out at the info you were able to gather on one part of the screen. "It has the location, scenery, acres, weather, and seasonal food as well."
"You're amazing." He breathed out, "I should have asked you a long time ago instead of suffering with the research."
Your eyes sparkled hearing him complimenting you. "You can count on me for anything. You know that right?"
"Yeah." Bakugo smiled to himself as he started to write down the most important focal points for the project. "How's your move coming along by the way?"
"Hmm..." looking down at your lap you said, "It's not as perfect as I hoped it would be, I still need to practice more to perfect it."
"Stop thinking that it isn't enough." He said looking from the screen to his notebook from time to time. "I've seen your move it's coming more perfectly together than you think. All you need is someone to try it out on."
Leaning forward you said, "And who should I ask?"
"I'm appalled that you haven't thought about asking me." Bakugou mumbled.
"I did think about asking you... among other things." You mumbled the last few words. "I wasn't sure if you wanted to since well... you have helped me enough already."
"You're an idiot." Placing the notebook and pen down he turned his body to look at you. "I already told you I'd help you out with your quirk. I don't see why you are still hesitant to ask me anything."
Your heart fluttered, it felt like he was looking deeply into you with those red orbs that shined brightly under the light. Bakugo held such an important part in your heart and as time keeps passing by you are only falling harder for him.
Taking a deep breath, you exhaled. Your voice slightly shaking, "A-actually now that you mention it I do want to-"
"(name), hey." You both looked to the left and saw Todoroki. "Sorry am I interrupting something?"
Bakugo became irritated. "Is it a habit for you to interrupt our every damn conversation, icy hot?"
"I'm actually a close friend to her, am I not allowed to talk to her?"
"Of course you are!" You butted in, trying to deescalate the situation before it turned badly pretty quickly. "Was it something that you needed?"
"Cold you help me make some tea for everyone?"
"You interrupted our damn conversation for some tea?!" Bakugo retroted.
"It's alright." You said trying to calm the dirty blonde down. "I'd love to give you a hand."
Todoroki extended a hand out to you, you gently accepted his offer and stood up.
"What type of tea are we making?"
"I'm not sure they said they did not mind the flavor."
"Bakugo, I assume you want green tea?" You asked.
"Always." He proudly said.
"We'll be back in a bit then."
You fell in step with the bi color haired friend as you made your way towards the kitchen.
"Do you think Momo has any tea left?" You asked walking over to the cabinet and opening it.
"Do you like Bakugo?"
You held your, breath as your movements stopped. Silence filling the small common kitchen.
Todoroki stood by the kitchen counter looking at you intently.
"I..." you cleared your throat taking the tea box and closing the counter. "I think y-you might... have gotten the wrong idea-"
"I'm not judging you for it if that's what you think I'm doing."
"What?..."
He added, "I wanted to ask because I've noticed you being around him more than usual. I hadn't thought anything about it but when I asked Fuyumi she explained that it was something someone did when they like a person."
"Are you..." you turned to face him but looked away. "Do you think... t-that it's silly?"
"Not at all... I mean it is normal is it not?" He asked, "I've never really liked anyone before... but shouldn't you let him know?"
"I want to..." you crossed your arm over the other holding it, "I have such a great time talking with him and being around him lifts my mood up more than I thought. No one has ever made me feel like that before."
"I see..." he muttered. "Bakugo isn't an easy person is he?"
"He has his moments where he does get angry over things we kinda don't really understand well." You answered, "Bakugo has many different sides to him. At times he can get flustered over things he gets wrong or misinterprets. As opposed to him fighting against a friend or rival, he gives it his all and doesn't hesitate his moves."
The more you talked about him, your heart started to beat rapidly against your chest. "Don't get me wrong sometimes it is hard to decipher what he means but he's grown and changed. He has started to see what it feels like to accept those around you as friends and not rivals. Slowly but surely I feel he will be the type to save and win."
"You talk about him with such passion..." Todoroki looked down at the his feet, a sad smile covering his lips. "I'm kinda jeaous."
"I guess it's what it means when you like someone... that's something I never really came to understand until now."
"I don't want to bring you any doubts, you're someone Bakugo would be lucky enough to have in his life."
"But?..."
He sighed, "I think you'd be someone he needs for him to become better. But... Bakugo right now is engrossed with becoming the best."
"So?..." you said looking at him. "I don't want to distract him and I-I won't... I just want to be someone who he can depend on when things go south. Or someone he can be himself around when he's tired of acting strong all the time."
"It's true what Midoriya said about you." Smiling softly he looked up at him, "You are someone who people can trust... you're just enough and more at the same time. I really hope things go your way, (name)."
"Thank you, Todoroki." Smiling widely you placed the boxes of tea in front of him. "Which tea should we make?"
"How about this one? It seems like a nice flavor."
Bakugo walked away from the kitchen door, his hands stayed deep in his pockets in thought. A look of confusion and realization, as he kept replaying the conversation in his head.
After you finished half of the project for the day you got up packing your things to head back to your room.
"I think we made great progress today!" Mina spoke stretching her arms above her head.
"I agree we will for sure get finished by Friday." Uraraka chimed in.
"Ohh we can go to a nearby cafe where they sell the yummiest sweets!"
Midoriya chuckled closing up his backpack, "Sounds like a good place to go to then."
"I won't be able to go I apologize." Iida spoke up, "I'll be helping my brother out this weekend."
"No worries I'm glad to hear that your brother is getting better." You said holding your laptop and books in your arms.
"Same here it's a good sign." Todoroki said.
Iida smiled. "Thank you, we are glad as well."
You bid each other goodbye and walked your separate ways. A yawn escaped from your lips as you walked towards the elevator.
"(name) can we talk for a sec?"
A soft smile formed on your lips seeing Bakugo. "Sure, do you want to go to my room-?"
"I'd like to talk here if tht's alright."
"Okay." You said confused, "Is everything alright?"
Bakugo stood quietly trying to gather his thoughts. He had a plan in mind already on how to say what he wanted to, but nothing wanted to come out.
Frustration ran through his body, he rubbed his face getting irritated with himself.
Worry began to show on your face, "Bakugo... is something going on?"
"I need to tell you something." He said.
"What is it?"
Even then you stayed quiet looking at him, waiting patiently until he was ready to speak.
He let out a long breath before ripping off the band-aid, his eyes focused on you with such sadness.
โ€œI like you. I really do, but not in the way you want me to.โ€
You blinked rapidly trying to process the words you heard. Your body moving two steps backwards in shock and in pain.
"I-" you could feel your eyes swelling with tears, knowing he already found out about your crush.
Bakugo felt guilty, hurting you was never in his plan when he started to care about you.
"I... overheard you and icy hot talking in the kitchen." He explained, "I went to talk to you about the project but I heard my name and stayed there instead. I-I know it probably wasn't something I was supposed to hear and I'm sorry I did."
"I should have... been more careful..."
He looked at you with sad eyes, "Maybe in the future Iโ€™ll see you as more than just a friend but right nowโ€ฆ" Bakugo softly sighed, "Iโ€™m sorry.โ€ย
"I thought... t-that... I mean you were so nice to me." You sniffled trying not to raise your voice at him. "You're never like that to everyone else! Every time I needed help with something you were there... I-I don't understand."
"I care about you, that's why I didn't hesitate to lend you a hand."
"Really?... You only care about me as a friend?"
Bakugo ran his fingers through his hair, "Right now... that's the only thing I feel for you."
"I'm sorry but I don't believe you." You said, "I can't be the only one to have misinterpreted anything. I know you Bakugo. I've watched you everyday and have been around enough to know that you don't treat a friend like that!"
"I do! Okay?"
"Are you afraid to say what you actually feel?" You stepped forward your eyes trying to search his own for an answer.
"I-I'm not!" He exclaimed and exhaled out. "I can't reciprocate your feelings, I'm sorry that you began to fall for me. But I do not feel the same way and I hope you realize that."
It was no point.
Bakugo wasn't going to come clean or face the way he feels. Someone like him wasn't going to admit it anytime soon, and you were only going to lose in the end.
"Alright..." your grip tightened around your books. "I won't pester you or say anything again."
"I really do care about you... I hope we can at least keep being friends-"
"I can't promise you that I'll be okay enough to treat you as a friend." You said wiping away your tears. "My feelings for you are too strong and it hurts to even look at you right now after knowing how you really feel."
"(name)." He extended his arm out to comfort you but let it fall seeing you retreat yourself back from his touch.
"I have to go." You turned your back to him and decided to take the stairs to your room instead.
Pain was all you could feel inside of you. It was as if someone had taken out your whole heart and had gotten rid of it. You felt hollow. And what hurt the most were the memories that kept replaying in your mind from all the times you had spend together with him.
The countless times you both shared smiles or even laughed at the weirdest things. When you fell asleep during one of your study sessions and he carried you back to your room. It felt like a dream, feeling his warmth close to you.
You shut your eyes tightly in hopes to stop the headache that was beginning to form along with the endless tears. Your vision started to become blurry, as you slowly made your way up to your floor.
A quiet sob escaped from your lips, your steps slowing down. The floor was empty making your crying to appear louder than it truly was.
"I-I have to let him g-go..." you muttered, leaving a trail of tears on the wooden floor.
"(name)!"
Oh great.
"I saw you two talking and didn't want to interrupt," Mina said smirking. "How did it go-" As you got closer to her she noticed your tears, concern covered her whole face instead. "(Name)... what happened?..."
You shook your head, crying louder than before. Mina immediately wrapped her arms around you, hugging you tightly. Her hand caressing the back of your head in order to comfort you.
"H-he doesn't feel the same way..." You blurted out burying your face in her shoulder.
"Oh sweetie..."
She opened the door to your room and helped you inside, telling her everything that happened and all the things that were said.
Mina ended up feeling bad and apologized for pushing you to confess to him. Although you knew you wanted to wait you did not carry any resentment or hate towards her or Bakugo. She meant well, that much you knew.
The following days became a bit awkward whenever you two showed up together or ran into each other with one of your other friends.
"So... how did everyone do on the test?" Koda asked smiling nervously as he along with everyone could feel the tension in the room.
"I did good!" Kaminari answered confidently. "I was actually able to answer all the questions without thinking so hard about them."
"Tch... isn't that what you do everyday?" Bakugo spoke looking down at his plate not fully grabbing food with his chopsticks.
"Why are you so mean?!" He retorted, "You'll see when we get our tests back!"
"The study method you came up with actually helped me a lot with math." Todoroki mentioned as he looked at you.
"Really?" You slightly smiled. "I'm glad to hear that it worked, I was kinda doubtful since I have never tutored anyone before."
"Oh that's right," Midoriya added. "You usually study by yourself."
"Y-yeah I can't really teach someone that well..."
Bakugo looked over where you sat closely in between Todoroki and Iida. His eyes falling over to you once in awhile, remembering how you'd always sit beside him.
"I've been meaning to ask." Hagakure finished her food before she asked, "Did you end up accepting that date from the second year?"
"Date?.." Bakugo mumbled under his breath.
Kirishima nodded leaning into the blonde's side and whispered.
"(name) got a confession in her shoe locker this morning." He explained, "They ended up meeting together at the roof top."
Bakugo clenched a fist tightly under the table, feeling an ache in his chest. Lately he had been wanting no, hoping that you'd talk to him again. To have a conversation like you used to, instead you had been spending more time with Todoroki than you used to, while ignoring him at all costs.
So it was a surprise when he opened his mouth without thinking.
"That's such a sorry way to give in to someone asking you out." His eyes widened hearing the words coming from his own lips.
As he looked up at you, his eye lids dropped seeing the hurt he had caused you.
A sigh escaped from your lips, placing your chop sticks down on the table. "I never said that I was going to accept it and go out with someone who I don't feel the same way about." You continued and looked at him with empty eyes. "Even if I did there's nothing wrong with doing so. Everyone is entitled to go out with anyone they'd like and so do I."
Getting up from your seat you grabbed your plate and headed to the kitchen without another word. Todoroki got up to follow you but Midoriya pulled on his arm, stopping him from doing so.
Kirishima nudged Bakugo at his side and pointed with his eyes to where you were. He nodded getting up, trying to ignore the stares that followed his every move as he walked to you.
You were getting ready to leave when he walked in.
"(name)-"
Ignoring him you walked passed him, hoping to not engage in a conversation that he himself did not even want to have in the first place.
Bakugo stopped you of course holding your wrist, "Can we talk?." You didn't budge of course. "Please?"
"Fine..." You mumbled stepping back with arms crossed and leaned against the counter not looking at him.
"I'm sorry for saying... all that back there. I crossed the line."
"No," you titled your head to look at him. "You crossed everything, Bakugo. It wasn't your place to say anything when it's not your life. You had no excuse to say all that to me."
"I know...I screwed up and I'm sorry." He breathed out holding on to the bridge of his nose with both hands. "You're right... it's your life and I don't have a say in anything."
"For once I agree." Sighing you shook your head with sad eyes. "Why did you though?... There's nothing going on between us. You rejected me a-and... that should only happen when you have feelings for someone."
Did he have feelings?
Had Bakugo realized how he truly felt about you?
"I-I don't know... what came over me."
"Well until you figure it out..." You bit your bottom lip contemplating on whether to stay quiet or finally finish everything. For your sake and his. "Please do me a favor and don't butt into anything that has to do with me."
"I thought we were going to be able to be friends-"
"I didn't agree."
Bakugo stepped forward, "I know that but in the future we could be (name)."
"I can't stay friends with someone I'm trying to get over still." You spoke feeling tears starting to cover your eyes, crying was the last thing you wanted to do. "I was hopeful that we might one day but the way you're acting is trying to tell me something else, something you're not even sure you are even able to say it yourself."
"(name)-"
"No.." you exhaled a long breath hoping to stabilize your voice. "I-I'm not going to wait around and hoping that you'll come around not with these- these mixed signals you keep sending me. That's how you were when we were friends Bakugo. I can't keep second guessing everything. I'm tired. I don't want to live or be around someone like that."
"W-what are you saying..." He softly spoke looking at you with shiny eyes.
"It's best if we j-just communicate when it's needed." You stated knowing it was the right thing to do even though it hurt everything inside of you. "I need to move on... you need to focus on being the hero you want. We'll be acquaintances... only talk when need to. Nothing more... nothing less."
"Are you seriously going to throw away the friendship we built?"
"No you are, Bakugo." You said, "You could have been honest about how you really felt but chose not to. I can't keep playing that mind game of yours whether you do it intentionally or not. All it'll ever lead to is me getting hurt... again."
You turned to leave but he held your wrist tightly, "(name)..."
Your name sounded so sweet coming from his lips, something you wish you'll be able to forget.
"Let me go..."
Bakugo nodded, letting you go. He could only watch as you walked further away from him.
He harshly wiped away his tears with his forearm, feeling the swelling of pain in his chest again.
"Fuck... I do like you (name)."

Your eyes felt heavy and swollen. A headache began to appear as you slowly opened your eyes, squinting seeing the light coming in through a slit between the curtains.
A warm presence could be felt next to you, looking to your right you saw it was Keigo. The events of yesterday came rushing back to you.
"Did we?..." gently you lifted the blanket off of your body and let out a relieved sigh that you were both fully clothed. Still it wasn't much comfort knowing you two were in bed together.
It was difficult to even be upset when you saw that calm look on his face, his body relaxed in a deep sleep. His arm still wrapped tightly around your waist as his wings stretched out to the edge of the bed on each side.
Keigo looked so peaceful.
A sudden urge ran through you to run your fingers through his long locks of hair. They looked so soft to the touch. You wondered how it would feel to hold his face in your hands. Would his golden-brown eyes shine brighter if you took a closer look at them?
Lightly ran your hand up his arm, feeling his skin was still warm despite your absence. You saw the ends of his lips slightly move upwards as he felt your touch.
The sound of a phone vibrating brought you back to reality, quickly you looked at the night stand to see it was your phone.
Carefully you got off the bed and slipped on your sweater before grabbing your phone to answer the call outside of your room.
A sigh escaped from your lips feeling a bit upset that the moment was interrupted.
"Hello?" You answer, questioning who the person was since you didn't look at the caller ID.
"Hey, sorry to call you so early in the morning (name) and on your honeymoon vacation."
"It's alright, Mio." You assured her, "I kinda was already awake to begin with. Did you need something?"
"Actually the principal asked me if you were able to ask about the heroes showing up."
"The heroes?" you asked walking into the living room. "I thought that idea had been off the table."
"Apparently she thought it over and said it would be a good idea to help the kids feel better." She explained closing the folder she was organizing.
"I see..." you mumbled. "Iโ€•I haven't actually... something came up last night and I didn't have any head to think about the sports festival."
"What happened?" Mio asked worried, "Did you two fight?..."
"No no... it wasn't me and him more like..." you sighed not knowing how to explain the situation without giving it away. "Me and my sister..."
"Himiko is back in the country?" She leaned back in her chair, surprised. "I thought she was still on the other side of the world."
"She dropped by as a surprise because she heard about my marriage."
"No way, did she seriously freak out about it?"
"Yeah..."
"I mean I know you married so fast but even so," Mio sighed. "She really crossed the line with you (name)."
"It is who she is." Running your fingers through your hair, "Himiko hasn't changed and at this point I don't have much faith that she will in the end."
"You know what will help you feel better?" You can tell her smile widened knowing her she already had an idea in mind.
A small chuckle escaped from your lips, "And what would that be?"
"A girl's day!" She exclaimed, "It is an early day today so school will be ending at 11:45. I can go and pick you up, walk around all your favorite shops and stop by to get ice cream from your favorite place."
"(favorite ice cream store) does have amazing flavors and it is near my favorite stores."
"What do you say?" Mio smiled widely, "You can't say no."
"Okay." You decided to give in, "I'll let my husband know about it and I'll see you soon."
"Yay! I swear you won't regret it."
Keigo extended his arm forward feeling an empty spot and nothing but sheets. He opened one eye to see you nowhere in sight, a sigh escaped from his lips.
Fully opening his eyes, he sat up from his comfortable spot and extended his wings, stretching them out. His lips parted to call out your name when he heard your voice coming from the living room.
"(favorite ice cream store) does have amazing flavors and it is near my favorite stores."
Is she going somewhere?
Getting up from the bed, he walked closer to the door and stood quietly listening to your conversation.
"Okay... I'll let my husband know about it and I'll see you soon."
Is she going out again with that guy friend of hers?
As the call ended he approached you, a sleepy smile adorned his face.
"Is everything okay?" He asked as you turned around to see Keigo with a messy bed hair.
"Yeah, good morning." You chuckled, "Sorry did I wake you up?"
"Not at all, I saw you weren't in bed anymore and decided to get up as well."
"I got a call from a colleague and friend of mine." You explained. "Do you remember that I told you about Mio?"
"Oh yeah!"
"She invited me to go out and shop with her for a bit once school was over."
"And you're going?" He asked trying to stifle a yawn.
"Yeah, at least for a little while. I told her about Himiko visiting and she offered to take me out to distract me for a bit."
Keigo looked away, knowing he wasn't able to take you out to your favorite places like he wanted to. It sucked that other people were helping you feel better than your own husband.
"Everything alright?..." You stepped closer to him, seeing he had gotten quiet.
"Yeah..." he slightly smiled, "What time will you be going?"
"Around 12? School ends today at 11:45. I'll be meeting her at the crosswalk from here."
"I'm sorry I can't accompany you." He said extending his hand out and gently brushing his fingers against your own, mang you blush.
"Dโ€•don't worry about it. Do you have any work today?"
"Yeah I have to leave in awhile back to the agency to check up on some things." Keigo groaned throwing his head back. "But I do not really want to go... I rather stay here."
Titing your head to the side you smiled, "I'm sorry to hear that. Why don't you try and finish everything you have to do so you can come back home early?"
"Believe me every time I do something always comes up."
"Hey, that's what happens when you're the number two hero right?" You looked up at him. "There's a reason why you are one of the best heroes in all of Japan and the world."
"You really think I'm the best?..."
"I've seen how hard you've worked and how much you care about everyone you have saved." You lifted your hand and moved a few of his lose hair locks back gently. "I think you are one of the best if not the best heroes this generation has seen."
His chest started to tighten, his heart beating rapidly against his ribcage. He couldn't take his eyes off of your (eye color) beautiful eyes. A warmth he felt when he was next to you or near you, but especially like this. Someone who he once never thought that one day would start to become important to him.
"Gees..." He mumbled moving his wings inward, feeling embarrassed. "You know how to make someone feel special."
"Sorry, did I over do it?"
"Not at all."
You're actually the first to make me feel a certain way.
At least that's what he wanted to say.
"Will you be at your agency the whole day?" You asked grabbing your bag from the closet.
"I'm not sure, I hope I won't be home too late today like yesterday." Keigo answered as he sat on the edge of your bed, dangling his legs back and forth.
You bit your lip looking down at your hands, feeling guilty about leaving him alone knowing he was injured."I wished you'd stay home and heal those injuries instead..."
"My injuries aren't much of a bother." He added joking, "Plus how will my fans feel if I'm not around the city? They'd be devasted not to see the number two hero patrolling the streets."
"I'm sure your fans would understand." You turned around to gave him, worry etched on your face. "With those injuries you should be taking medication for the swelling of the bruises."
"The doctor said they'd go away slowly but surely, I didn't have any broken bone or damaged any part of my body."
"Are you saying that cause they told you?" Crossing your arms in front of your chest you raised an eyebrow looking at him. "Or because that's what you decided to come up with?"
Keigo looked away, laughing nervously. "The doctor of course... why would I be lying?"
"Either if you were or not I'd have no way to prove it." You sighed, "Just make sure you're careful okay? You are still healing your body after all. Don't take on any powerful bad guys by yourself."
A smile formed on the corner of his lips, "I promise (name). I won't go running around chasing bad guys without another heroes help."
"Good."
Your phone then vibrated indicating you had gotten a message from Mio.
"Oh, she's here. I should get going." you said walking to the door to exit with Keigo on your tail.
"I'll accompany you to the elevator."
You nodded, waiting for him to walk side by side to the two large doors that separated your world from the reality of outside.
"Can you... um let me know when you get there?" He asked not knowing if he was over stepping his boundaries. "Iโ€•I mean of you want you, of course. I just want to know that you're safe."
You nodded not seeing any problem with his request. "I'll let you know when I've arrived at the little shopping center. Can you do the same for me as well? Let me know when you've arrived and when you're about to come back home?"
Rubbing the back of his head he gave you a toothy smile. "Of course, I'll make sure to remember."
"Deal."
As you arrived at the elevator, Keigo made sure to press the button for you. You turned to look at him at the same time he did.
"Be careful alright? But don't forget to have fun too." He stepped closer placing his hand on your arm, "I want you to enjoy yourself as well."
You knew what he was refereeing to and it meant the world that he cared a lot about your mental well being. "I'll do my best to enjoy myself."
"I know you will."
The doors opened, you bit your lip not knowing how to tell him goodbye. Do you hug him quickly? Give him a small wave? Or a small kiss on his cheek?
Not thinking about it, you leaned in and went with the option that seemed most appropriately in your opinion since you are technically married after all.
You placed a small gentle kiss on his cheek, making the tips of his ears to turn red.
"I'll see you later, tonight?"
"Yโ€•yeah." He was trying his best to act cool about the whole thing but inside he was freaking out. "Have fun." He said, giving you a small wave and a smile as you headed into the elevator.
As soon as the doors were fully closed he clutched his chest tightly. His heart was beating so fast it felt like he was having a heart attack. It wouldn't stop, the kiss on his cheek was still visibly present.
He couldn't help and touch his cheek gently, not trying to fully erase the kiss with his finger tips.
"Is this even right?" Keigo mumbled to himself. "I shouldn't..." he sighed feeling conflicted about all these new emotions he never dealt with in his whole life. "Butโ€• what if it becomes something good?"
But what if it ruins the friendship you're just starting to grow?
That thought alone made his mind run with a million of possibilities. He just made someone else part of his life, he didn't want to end up pushing you away, not now.
Not when he just found another ray of hope in his life.
"(name)?" Mio asked waving her hand in front of you.
"Huh?" You shook your head looking over at her with a confused look. "Sorry... did you say something?"
"What is up with you today?" She questioned looking through a rack of graphic tโ€•shirts. "It's like as soon as I stop talking you space out."
Were you spacing out a lot? You wondered. Your body was fully present at the moment but your mind suddenly kept going back to the way Keigo's eyes looked when you kissed his cheek.
They were wide, full of surprise. His golden brown orbs looked as if they were shinning brighter than they usually were when the light bounced off of them. Or was it your imagination?
No, you shook your head. That wasn't what was going on. Still you kept touch your lips, as you tried to picture his soft skin again. The way it felt when they connected against his cheek.
"I think we should get you this outfit." Mio said grabbing your attention to what appeared to be a yellow sundress that was mid length.
"Why? It would look good with those heels you wore to the party last time."
She shrugged holding it up against your body, "It looks more like your style than mine."
"I don't thinkโ€•"
"Plus," she wobbled her eyebrows at you. "I'm sure your husband would adore you looking this cute in the dress."
The thought of Keigo seeing you in that dress brought a rush of heat to your cheeks.
"Ooo so you're thinking about it as well huh?!"
"What?โ€• no... not at all!" You stuttered, "Iโ€•I was just thinking about something elseโ€• wait not what you're thinking about either!"
Mio smirked placing the dress in your arms, "You're wearing it and then you're going to tell me about his reaction."
"Mio." You whined, "I have plenty of dresses at home."
"Not like these, you need to be more confident about yourself." She said, "And with these I can tell you're going to be able to."
You gave in, "Okay... I'll buy the dress."
An incoming text then came in, catching your friends attention.
She raised an eyebrow at you, "Who's that?"
Unlocking your phone you saw it was a message from Keigo. A smile started to form without you knowing as you read the message in your head.
K ๐Ÿชถ | 12:37 PM
Hey, just wanted to keep my promise and let you know I'm barely on my way to the agency. Hope you're having fun with Mio!
"So?"
You lifted your head to look at her, "What?" Quickly you responded back to him and put your phone away.
"What did your hubby say?"
"Mโ€•my hubby?" You furrowed your eyebrows at her, confused. "That's a thing?*
She nodded her head with crossed arms, "Well, duh!"
"Oh um he was just letting me know that he's on his way to work. He went in late." You then started to look at the rack of clothes behind you.
"He decided to do that by himself?"
"He told me to let him know when I had arrived at the shopping center and I asked him to do the same, just to make sure he was already heading to his work place."
"Ugh I'm jealous," she said looking at the rack with you. "I don't even know who the lucky guy is and I can already tell he's doing well by how much he cares about you."
You paused, turning to look at her. "You think so?"
"Of course, you should have known that by now. I mean or else why would you have married him?"
Her questioned lingered in your mind, Keigo was a kind man. In all aspects he was putting effort in getting to know you than any other guy you have ever met. He was patient, respectful, warm hearted and brave. After all he had been put through from his early childhood up until now was mind blowing, in the sense that his heart hasn't turned cold like others would have by now.
"This is cute." Mio held up a white sundress with beautiful detailed patterns of blue flowers and ruffled sleeves. "Should I buy this one?"
"It is pretty, it would look good with those white ankle strap flats you have with the small heel," you suggested. "The last ones you wore for the parent teacher conference."
"Oh right," she dreamily spoke, smiling with a far away gaze. "I remember that day, it was really nice." Mio then looked at you, "Who knows one day it'll be you two love birds going to your own kids teacher parent conferences too."
You suddenly began to cough, choking on your spit.
"(name)!" she exclaimed, patting your back trying to stop you from coughing. "Do you need water?"
Shaking your head, you kept coughing trying to get out the stubborn feeling in your throat.
"Don't die on me!"
After awhile you managed to slowly calm down your cough. "Oh my god..." you spoke with a hoarse voice.
"Gees, if I knew you were going to get all like this I wouldn't have saod anything."
If I had read your mind I would have been able to save myself.
"Iโ€•I'm okay."
A knock at his office door, brought him out of his thoughts.
"Come on in." He said leaning back into his chair.
"Sorry to interrupt, Mr. Hawks." His assistant said. "I got a phone call from a nearby elementary school saying they are holding a sports festival for their students and would like to know if you could attend."
"A sports festival?" Keigo asked, "What is the school's name?"
"I investigated it and it is a local elementary school about five blocks away." They walked over to him and placed the tablet on his desk with the school's information.
His eyes widened upon realizing that it was the same school where you were currently working at.
"This is a non quirk school am I correct?"
They nodded, "After the events that took place the principle said her students have been nervous and thought that seeing a hero might get their spirits up. The sports festival is held every year for them."
"I see..." he mumbled looking through the photos provided by the school's website. His finger swiped through each one not wasting more than three or four seconds, smiling as he saw the kids.
"They notified me that the event would take place two weeks from today."
Keigo nodded, only half listening if he was being honest. He was trying to find a picture of you and luckily there was one. The smile getting bigger as his eyes landed on your breathtaking smile. You were standing in the middle to what seemed a big class. Your arms stretched around the few kids that were in your arms.
No matter how many of you were sandwiched next to each other, you still tried holding onto each one of them. His finger lightly traced around your face trying to be careful to not press on the image too hard.
"Sir?"
"Hmm?" He said not lifting his head up from the tablet in front of him.
"Should I let her know that you'll be going?"
"Ohh right." Clearing his throat he looked up at them, "Yโ€•yes please let them know that I will be attending. As well as bringing a guest to the school."
They nodded extending their hand as a sign to get their electronic device back. Keigo exited from the photo and handed it over back to them.
"I'll make sure to mark it as a reminder then."
As their assistant left his mind went back your smile, every detailed still vividly present. A smile that reached those eyes he's come to like seeing each day.
Grabbing the phone from his desk, he dialed a number and stood up.
"Come on..." He spoke hearing it ring so many times.
"Hello?"
"Hi, I'd like to speak with Endeavor."
"Oh, Hawks." They said, "Endeavor had to take care of an emergency. Did you need something?"
Keigo recognized that voice, "Shoto! I didn't know you were working at his agency again."
"For the time being, Mr. Aizawa said I still needed more experience from him."
"I see, well in that case can you let him know that you and him are invited to an event here in Kyushu?"
"An event?" Shoto asked. "What's the event for?"
"An elementary school is holding their sports festival," he explained. "The principle asked me if I'd be able to go down there and talk to some of the kids. They're quirkless but they wanted to inspire them in a way to help them grow and not lose their confidence."
"Is it possible if I take some of my classmates as well?"
"Not all, the more the merrier. Plus you kids have gotten quite popular with the public too. I'm sure they'll be happy to have more heroes at their event."
"I'll make sure to let them know." Shoto took out a piece of paper and grabbed a pen, "Where will it be and when?"
"It'll be two weeks from today, at the local Kyushu elementary school that's four blocks away from my agency."
"Got it, I'll let them know."
He bit his lip, wondering if he should mention his presence at your school or leave it as a surprise. His phone then vibrated seeing the incoming text was from you.
The smile ever so visible on his face as he read it. "Hey, hope work isn't so rough. I just got back home from the shopping trip. Make sure to take it easy and hope to see you soon for dinner."
His heart was feeling so many emotions at once, it was a scary feeling for him. Was it healthy to get so attached to someone this quickly? At any second you two can suddenly switch and feel anger or hatred towards each other.
Was he doing the right thing by letting himself feel all these different things at once?
It was a gamble of winning or losing all at once, one wrong move and you could be gone.
You're not going to keep my sister caged in here, you hear me?
If Himiko was able to do everything in her power for you to leave him, would you take the opportunity?
He tried his best to keep those intruding thoughts out of his head as he responded back to you.
K ๐Ÿชถ | 4:39 PM
I hope your shopping trip was fun. Thanks for letting me know, I'm glad you arrived safe. I don't think I will be arriving home late, I should be there around 7 but I'll try my best to get there early.
You quickly lowered the heat on the stove as you heard your phone give off a 'ding'. A smile adored your lips as you unlocked your phone and read his response.
"I'll make sure to have dinner ready then."
Now more than ever you put in extra effort to make sure the dinner turns out tasty, in hopes he would enjoy something to come back home too.

"Can you please pass the rice?" you asked sitting crossed legged on the chair across from Keigo.
"Here you go." he said handing you the big bowl of fresh steaming rice.
"Thank you." taking the big bowl you grabbed the paddle and placed some rice onto your smaller bowl.
Today the two of you decided to take a day off for yourselves given you were still on your honeymoon. Since you could not be in the public eye together, he was kind enough to make breakfast for the two of you despite coming home so late.
Of course you offered but he kept saying no and that he wanted to prepare something nice for you since you decided to wait up for him until he got home.
As you ate you couldn't help but notice a bruise forming next to his neck and on the side of arm. Keigo was wearing casual clothes, a short sleeve t-shirt that was tight around his upper arm muscles and a pair of sweatpants that hung slightly low but not too much that it exposed his waistline.
He had said a villain had come across his path as he was heading back, but even so he took sharp breaths whenever he leaned forward or reached up to grab something from the top shelf.
Keigo was in pain, but tried to disguise it.
"Everything, alright?" He questioned looking your way. "You haven't blinked in a while, (name)."
"Oโ€•oh, yeah... it's just..." you looked down feeling embarrassed that he had noticed you staring. "I couldn't help and see that you are pain, even though you don't say anything. I saw the way you winced when you tried reaching for the spice rack."
"Oh that." he slightly smiled looking down at his half eaten plate of food. "The fight ended up being a three against one type of situation. One of the villain's quirk was super strength so his hits kinda made it hard for me to fight him off."
"I figured that was the case." you said looking at him with worried eyes, "If you get hurt you do not need to stay silent about it. I do not want you to over do it when you are supposed to be resting."
Keigo was taken back by your words, he was so used to being alone that he kinda forgot how it felt to have someone worry about his well being. It was... an overwhelming feeling to say the least.
"Rโ€•right..." he cleared his throat. "I didn't think it was something to worry aboutโ€•"
"Keigo," you sighed softly speaking. "I understand this marriage was formed due to a deal but even so... we are living together. I've gotten to know more about you and I have come to think of you as a friend. I worry about my friends well being whether that is emotional or physical."
"I've been demoted from husband to friend?" He gasped, teasing you.
"Iโ€•I mean..."
He chuckled, "I was just kidding." A smile rested on his lips, "I'm glad to see that you consider me as a friend. I actually thought that the further this marriage went the more strict and lonesome it would be. Of course you do not seem the type to be that way at all!โ€•"
"Keigo," you couldn't help and chuckle as well seeing he was trying not to say anything bad about you. "I understand where you are coming from it's okay. I actually felt the same way at first."
Throwing his head back he sighed in relief. "I was thinking of ways to make you feel comfortable. I did not want this to feel like those arranged marriages where you can't say or do anything."
"I can tell, which is why I like having you around," your cheeks turned a slight pink. "I hope you can consider me as a friend or someone you can lean on if anything bothers you."
Before you two got married, there was something inside of him that knew this marriage would change him. Whether it was good or bad, something was going to come out of it. But now as he is experiencing this it has become clear that you were the best choice.
"I hope... you can do so as well, (name)." he said. "I may not be able to do something more openingly but if you need help you can count on me."
You both continued to eat breakfast, having small conversations here and there. Even then it felt as if the pressure that first fell on you two, three days ago was no longer present. Now it just appeared to be two friends enjoying their breakfast together.
After you both finished eating you decided to clean up since Keigo had been the one to cook and of course he was injured.
"I can helpโ€•"
"Keigo, no offence but stop being stubborn." you chuckled carrying the plates over to the sink. "It's not a lot to clean up. I can manage a few dishes."
"Fine." he pouted, "I'll go shower in the meanwhile then."
You gave him a cheeky smile, "Good."
He quickly turned around and headed towards his room before you even catch a glimpse of his blushed face.
As you started to wash the dishes there was a sound coming from the intercom near the elevator door. Turning off the water you walked over to see someone familiar standing inside of it.
"(name)?" the women spoke. "It's me, can you um let me in? I don't know how this thing works."
Your body backed away from the ashy colored doors. Eyes widened with disbelief knowing that your own sister was close by.
"(name)? Are you home?"
You felt conflicted about letting her in. Keigo knew you had a sister that worked over sees, apart from that he did not know much. You did not want to keep this secret from her, your parents most likely kept quiet about it until it was on your own terms to let her know.
Honestly you kinda thought you had more time before she came back home but by the looks of it, it was going to be sooner than you thought.
Swallowing down the huge lump in your throat, pressed the button to let her in.
You waited at the entrance for her arrival, feeling nervous about her reaction. By the sound of the water turning on you might have time before Keigo came out of the shower. But even then you knew it was hopeless to even think you had time.
As the ashy doors opened you were greeted with a worried sister, rushing towards you and pulling you into a tight hug.
"(name)," she whispered holding back the tears that brimmed her eyes. "I've been so worried about you."
"Himiko." you softly said hugging her back, "I'm okay."
Your sister sighed pulling away from you as she took a good look at your whole self. "I haven't heard a single thing about you in five months! Every time I asked my parents about you they kept saying you were busy."
"Bโ€•because I have been!" you retorted trying to make their lies believable. "I got a good job working at a nearby school and moving here took awhile longer than I thought it would last year."
"It still doesn't make any sense to me as to why you ignored my calls." she stated, "I kept trying to reach out but it always lead to voicemail and you don't even answer my texts!"
"Himiko..." you bit your lip contemplating on how to say what you were thinking. "I understand you being worried, I just don't get why all of a sudden youโ€•"
"You're my sister!" she exclaimed. "Of course I'm going to be freaking worried about you."
"But you never were when you went and accepted that job over seas." You pointed out looking away from her hurt expression. "You became distant and all that mattered to you was your career."
"I had to focus, (name)."
"I get that." you said, "I understand and I'm happy for you that you have been able to realize your dream. Even so you neglected our family, Himiko. My mom kept trying to call you but you ignored her and couldn't even send a message or take some time to call during Christmas."
Himiko looked away trying to hide the guilt in her face. "I got a lot more busy than I had anticipated. I tried to call as well."
"They were a minute long conversation and it was before you were called in again."
She knew you were right. Her career suddenly became the only thing she knew besides breathing and sleeping. Other relationships weren't important as making sure her career kept climbing higher. Even her colleagues took priority over her own family, something she wasn't proud of.
"I wanted to become better," she explained. "I needed to. I always wanted to prove to everyone back home how much better I became. I did not want them to look down on me if I ever did come back. I felt supported and wanted at my work place, I did not want to loose the feeling of being treated as an equal for once."
"I know how much you struggled."
Playing with her fingers she kept talking, "I did not mean to push you guys off to the side. It just happened and it was something I had no control over once it was out of my hands, I'm sorry."
"Himiko you do have control over what you chose to put as your priorities." You said, "Your career is important but it shouldn't over top your well being. You need to rest and take a breather for once. You're a great employee, they can see that and I'm sure they wouldn't mind you taking a vacation or a break now and then."
"Actually..." she looked up at you once again feeling the uneasiness leaving her body. "I had asked for a couple of days to come back home."
"I'm glad you did, I'm sure mom and dad were thrilled to see you."
"Are you?" Himiko asked, "Are you... glad to see me too after years?"
A sad smile formed on your lips, nodding. "I'm happy to see you, again Himiko."
"Hey, (name) have you seen where I put the extra towels the other day?"
You closed your eyes tightly knowing things were about to go the opposite direction.
"I wanted to put them in the new rack by the doorโ€•"
Keigo stopped talking as he realized there was a stranger standing in front of you. Quickly he flew over wrapped his wings around your figure, shielding you away from your sister.
"How the hell did you get in here?" He questioned, glaring at her direction.
"You're married to Hawks?!" Himiko yelled. "How the hell did you marry Hawks?!"
"Uh... I'm sorry?" He asked feeling quite offended.
"Himiko... this is Keigo Takami, my husband." You said trying to ease the tension.
"Himiko?" Keigo muttered under his breath and unwrapped his wings from your body. "As in that Himiko? Your sister Himiko?"
You nodded slowly looking away.
"You're (name)'s sister..."
"I am." She stated crossing her arms in front of her chest with furrowed eyebrows. "How did you convince her to marry you?"
"Wellโ€•"
"It was actually my idea." you answered cutting him off, his parted to contradict you but you shook your head. "I was the one who offered it after well... he helped our parents out."
Himiko looked at you confused, "What are youโ€• what are you even talking about? What did he help them out with?"
"They're business was in bad shape, the debt kept climbing higher as the months passed by. I tried helping them out with my job but it wasn't enough to cover the costs." You explained placing your hand on Keigo's shoulder. "But he came in one day after they had come to collect the money. Keigo over heard everything and offered his help on his day off, I thought it was a big gesture and decided to pay him back by marrying him."
"Out of all the things you could have done youโ€•" she was too stunned to speak that she kept tripping over her words. "Whyโ€• why did you go with that? I thought Hizashi was the one who you'd end up marrying!"
"Hizashi? I told you we were just close friends."
"Marriage is a big deal!" She exclaimed grabbing you by your shoulders. "You said you wanted to wait for the right person, how can you throw that away?!"
"I didn't throw it away, Himiko." You said trying your best to calm her down.
"You did! You married him when you don't even love him. And you!" She turned to glare at him. "How dare you take advantage of it?! You should have known better than to accept something like this."
It was true, he could have said no but he secretly did not want to. As popular as he was, he felt alone every time he came back to his penthouse.
"He tried to reason with me but I begged him, okay?" You answered for him. "I was the one who told him to accept this trade."
"I asked him." She sternly said not looking at you.
"Like (name) said, I tried to reason with her but she didn't accept a no." He said knowing well he was lying. "I admit I kinda wanted to see what it was like to be married."
"That's not even an answer, only an experiment you wanted to experience yourself without considering any of her feelings."
"Himiko you're being harsh." You said making her look at you. "Why does it even matter?โ€•"
"Because I left and you turned intoโ€• into this."
Your eyebrows knit together in confusion. "What does you leaving... have anything to do with the decision I decided to make?"
"Before I left you felt certain about what you wanted," Himiko explained. "You'd never, ever think about giving up your own happiness for selfish needs."
There was so much patience you had for people but it was starting to thin out seeing how rash your sister was being.
Sucking in your teeth you tried not to explode, "You have no say in the decisions that I take for myself." You said pointing at yourself. "You left to focus on your own life you were never responsible for my own, Himiko."
She shook her head walking back and forth with her hands resting on her hips. "I'm not going to let this keep going. I can't believe our parents did not even think twice in selling you."
"They didn't sell me," You angrily spoke your eyes not leaving your sister's figure as she ran her fingers through her thick brown hair.
"Then what do you call it huh!?" Himiko yelled taking a step forward and getting in your face. "They're treating you as if this was the damn 18th century all over again."
"Seriously?" Keigo retorted, "Why are you insulting her for something that she chose to do?"
"Stay out of itโ€•"
"No." He slipped his hand into yours, "She's my wife and I won't let you talk about her that way. She's your sister for crying out loud Himiko!"
"Because she's my sister is why I'm trying to protect her from people like you."
"You're not protecting her, you're only hurting her." He said trying to calm himself down, sighing he continued. "You may be blood related but it doesn't give you the right to treat her this way, not when she's my family too."
"Be grateful I didn't get my friend to get out a restraining order."
"Are you kidding meโ€•"
"Stop it." you looked down at the floor. "You have no right to judge me or them when you don't even want to try and understand."
"I do not have to try and understand something so stupid."
Your shoulders sagged, realizing what this whole thing was truly about. The realization hit you, soon it felt like how when you were kids all over again.
"And I don't have to reason with someone soโ€• so..." you stuttered trying to not insult her back but it was difficult. "Ignorant... and judgemental."
Her eyes widened, tears brimming in her eyes, "I'm not going to stand back and watch as you two stay together. I won't let you stay with someone that you do not love."
"It's my life not yours."
"This marriage isn't your life, (name)."
Himiko turned to look at an infuriated Hawks, his wings moving back and forth as he stood firmly beside you, silently letting her know that he was there to protect you.
"You're not going to keep my sister caged in here, you hear me?"
Without another word she grabbed her purse and walked in long strides towards the elevator, pressing the button until the doors finally opened.
As soon as she was out of sight you collapsed to the floor. Keigo wrapped his arms around your back and front to stop you from falling down harshly onto the cold white tile.
You looked down at the floor, spaced out, however your mind was moving around in a sea of thoughts and emotions. Your body wanted to break down, you felt the urge to cry. The feeling of hurt and betrayal, pained a lot more and thus you couldn't physically cry only felt the ache in your chest.
"(name)..." Keigo softly spoke trying to get you to come back and away from your thoughts. "Are you still with me?' He asked.
"I can't believe that's how she truly felt about me." You mumbled.
He frowned not knowing how to comfort you in a way that eases the pain you were going through.
"Himiko is you sister I'm sure she will come around." He said as you leaned into his chest and burying your face in the crook of his neck. "It took her by surprise is all... she is worried about you."
"Himiko, was never there for me when I was in high school." you explained, "She never cared... and never will."
To think there was a reason why you didn't say anything else about your sister when he asked, now he knew why. Your parents and yourself were the opposite of how your sister was. He was even starting to question if you two were actually related to begin with.
There was nothing he could for you at the moment, so he stayed quietly by your side rubbing your back in circles, hoping to bring you comfort during this turmoil.
You were thankful he did not press on about the situation. Being in silence like this, helped you arranged your thoughts better. For someone who had a difficult time expressing their emotions, this was the best way to calm you down.
The warmth that radiated off of him brought you a sense of peace, he may not know how to fix a situation like this but he surely knew how to make you feel cared for.
After awhile Keigo offered to take you to your room and get some rest. You were emotionally exhausted, he knew that face so well himself. Slowly you followed him, his hold not breaking from you.
Gently he took off the pillows and top covers from your bed, giving you room to slide under the blankets.
"I'll go make you some tea." He said getting ready to leave when you stretched your hand out and caught his wrist, stopping him in place. "(name)?" Keigo turned his head to the left, looking at you.
Being who you are, you looked away feeling yourself turn red at your bold action. "Dโ€•don't go..." You pleaded, "Can you just... stay for awhile?"
A faint smile rested on his lips, "Sure."
Keigo tried his best to bury the rapid beating of his chest and re cheeks as he chose to focus on being there for you. It did not go without saying that he was slightly nervous being this close but if it meant you feeling better, how could he say no?
Once he made himself comfortable, he stretched his arms out, signaling for you to rest on top of his chest. Not caring for once, you went in, hugging his waist tightly feeling afraid of being alone. Your face buried in his chest, taking in his musky scent.
"Everything is going to be alright..." he cooed into your ear, rubbing your back. "I'm not going to let anything bad happen."
You weakly nodded, letting the tears silently fall down onto his stomach.
For once you were starting to act like a married couple, it did not quite feel so bad if this meant having someone like him to comfort and support you.

Keigo woke up in a bed tangled in sheets, a yawn escaped from his mouth as he was slowly waking up. His eyes focused on the ceiling, blinking the tiredness off from them.
Turning his head he looked at the clock on his nightstand that read, 7:01 AM.
"Crap..." he muttered sitting up from his messy bed, "Endeavor is going to get there soon..." He groaned fully stretching his wings, feeling too lazy and tired to head to the agency.
After minutes of fighting his external tiredness, he finally woke up and got himself ready for work.
"That's strange...."
Walking over to the door, he opened it but there was no noise coming from any room of your penthouse. Peeking his head out he looked both ways for any sign of you, but there was none.
"(name)?" he called out to you, no answer.
Quietly he stepped towards your room and gently opened the door, "(name) are you awake?" Keigo whispered.
Your room was actually tighty compared to his own, your bed was made and still no sign of you. It was weird seeing you had told him you were given some days off because you two got married, so why weren't you anywhere?
A slight feeling of panic wanted to rise inside of him. "Keep calm, hawks if something had happened you would have been contacted already."
And behold he was right, there was a note on the coffee table with your handwriting.
"Sorry for not waiting for you I had to take off this morning." He read out loud, "The school contacted me that a teacher called in sick and asked me to cover for them. I hope you get to enjoy your morning before you leave for your agency. See you later at home, (name)."
Faintly smiling he placed the note back down, "I'm glad I just hope next time you let me know, gees."
His phone then vibrated, accepting the call he spoke.
"Hey, you should have told me before you left-"
"I'm already at your agency and you're nowhere to be seen? Where are you? I thought you'd be here by now, Hawks."
"Endeavor!" he mentally cursed, forgetting he was expecting him today. "I'm already on my way, a uh villain took some time to catch. But I am a few minutes away."
Endeavor sighed, "Whatever, just get here already."
With that the call ended and Keigo quickly put on the rest of his hero costume and flew out the window feeling a little less worried about his wife.

"Mrs. (last name)!" you felt a pair of tiny arms wrap themselves around your legs. "I thought you were on vacation."
Smiling you crouched down to their height, "One of our teachers didn't feel too good today and I came to help cover their class."
"So you won't be back tomorrow?" they pouted.
"I'm not sure, Suzuki." you answered, "I did get some days off thanks to our principle."
"B-but aren't you.. happy here with us instead?"
You nodded, softly smiling. "I'm always happy to see you guys."
"Then stay, Mrs. (last name)!" Sato exclaimed running up from behind Suzuki.
"Sato!" you retorted, "I'm so happy to see you back again, how are you feeling?"
She gave you a thumbs up, smiling widely. "I told you I would get better quickly!"
"That you did."
"Where's your husband?" she asked standing next to Suzuki. "Is he coming by to meet us?"
"W-well... right now he is quite busy."
"He shouldn't be too busy to meet us!" Sato crossed her arms in front of her chest, frowning. "He does know about us, right?!"
"Of course!" you exclaimed, ruffling both their heads lovingly. "He knows you guys are very important to me."
The sound of the bell got their attention.
"We should get going then, we'll see you at lunch Mrs. (last name)!" She yelled hugging your neck tightly while Suzuki gave you a side hug. You wrapped both your arms around them, hugging them back. "I'll make sure to tell the others."
"Yeah... they will be happy to see you." Suzuki added.
You kissed the top of their heads and let them go, "Off you go kiddos. I don't want you two to be late."
"Bye, Mrs. (last name)!" they yelled waving at you, you waved back and watched as they made their way towards your classroom.
"(name)!"
"Oof." your body moved back as you felt a weight on top of you.
"You should be on your honeymoon!"
"He's actually busy so we're at home for the mean time, Mio."
"Are you serious?" she pulled away, shocked. "He should have taken you to at least somewhere away from Kyushu!"
"I told him it was okay." you assured her, "We can always go somewhere else."
"Nope!" she retorted shaking her head, "I need to have a talk with this mysterious husband of yours, I mean come on? It's your honeymoon!"
"Trust me he understands and is aware of it."
"Doesn't seem like it." she furrowed her eyebrows, "Are you sure he is not holding you against your will? Do you really love him? Does he love you? Is he nice to you?!"
You raised your hands, "Mio calm down. I wouldn't have gotten married if my parents did not trust him. You know how aware they are about who gets close to me."
"True." She bit her lip, then sighed. "Okay, I trust you then."
"Thank you."
"Can I see like... at least a picture of him?"
"Nope."
Mio groaned in frustration, as much as she respected your private life husband's she still wanted to know. You did feel bad that you couldn't let her know, but it was for his and your own safety.

"You are aware of what is going on I assume?" Endeavor spoke.
"Yeah, as far as I can tell there hasn't been any recent movement." Keigo rested his elbows on the desk, resting his chin on his open palm. "Which is a big worry on our part."
"The police has been trying to track down any leads from the past to see if they had a plan made without us noticing."
"Even if they did, they most likely have a plan ahead from what we might think." Keigo explained, "They're a group of unpredictable villains... it won't be long enough until they show up again."
"Are you still thinking about what happened?"
"Yeah..." He leaned back looking down at his desk.
"If it hadn't been for you we couldn't have known what the league had been planning." Endeavor leaned forward looking at him. "You didn't know how it would turn out in the end. We all did our best."
"I don't want there to be a repeat of last time, not again." He sternly spoke. "They don't care about losing anything. Their minds are already made up but for the rest of us... it's nothing like that. Everyone is barely going back to normality, some are still suffering."
"No one else deserves to wallow in pain again."
"How are you adjusting to your new house?" Keigo asked.
The flame hero looked away, not knowing how to answer his friends question. It had been something in his mind for a long time but with society split into two, he hasn't been able to truly sit down and feel everything.
"I don't know yet." He honestly answered. "I'm glad to see that my family is whole again, in a new place where no bad memories are attached to it."
"But?"
Endeavor stayed quiet for a moment, hoping to looked deep inside and see the answer he's been looking for.
"It's now really settling in that I can't go back and erase the hurt I've caused. The stuff I did to them... they shouldn't have gone through with it. And now..." he continued, "I'm living in a house too big for only myself."
"I understand how you feltโ€• feel I mean." Keigo corrected himself, "It's a lonely world... but you have s chance to make things right and you have been. Not everyone thinks twice to fix things, yet you already did."
"I suppose it's going to take some time."
"You have time, go slowly." He said, "Don't rush something that needs a couple of steps in between for it to fully become complete."
"You're younger than me and yet here you are giving me life advice." Endeavor looked at him. "It's strange."
"What?" Keigo chuckled, "Come on what's so strange about me giving you advice? I can be a good person to go to, you just sometimes happen to think otherwise."
The corner of his lips slightly lifted upwards, "Yeah."
A knock at his door interrupted the conversation.
"Come in!" Keigo called out.
His assistant then walked in, "Hello, Endeavor sir. Hawks there is someone waiting for you in the meeting room."
"Thank you, I'll be there in a minute!"
She excused herself, leaving them both alone again.
"By the way I heard that you were in Miyagi? A couple of heroes kept asking me if I was there with you."
"I was vising some old friends." Keigo answered standing up from his chair.
"In Miyagi?"
"Yeah I've gone there a couple of times during my vacation and I liked it." He teasingly smiled at him, "Don't worry you're still my favorite Endeavor."
"As if I care..." he muttered.
"Come on Endeavor you know I still love you." Keigo went around his desk to hug him but Endeavor stretched his arm out stopping him from doing so.
He pouted, "You're so mean!"

After school was when things got a bit busier than you had thought. All the teachers had made a plan to meet up and discuss the upcoming sports festival for the students. It would be a small event held for all grades, their parents would be invited of course to come and cheer them on.
"I think an obstacle course could be fun!" Mio exclaimed looking at everyone. "We can set up a few tunnels and curves that they would have to go around."
"That's an excellent idea." The principle smiled, "We can even set up a stand on the side with snacks and drinks for all of them to enjoy."
"Are parents going to participate?" A teacher asked.
"For the time being I think it would be best if they watch and interact with them during their breaks since it will be a big event for everyone."
"Understood."
"Does anyone else want to pitch in an idea or have any questions?" The principle asked looking around the room.
You knew that it would be impossible to get any heroes to show up and cheer them on. From what you heard your kiddos loved Hawks along with Best Jeanist, Endeavor, and Midnight.
But if you asked him personally there was going to be a chance that he would say no.
Still, your students have been wanting to meet them for awhile now and it could inspire them.
Raising your hand you took the risk, "I understand this event is already big as it is but... well is there a possibility that we can ask a hero to come as a guest? Our kids would appreciate it... even after all that's happened. I know they're looking for an inspiration and let them know that things will be okay."
Everyone murmured around them, some agreeing to the idea that it would be beneficial to get more sponsored events and earn money for the school.
"Things have been a bit difficult for all of us," she said. "I can see why you want to get them involved to cheer them up. Still given the circumstance, some heroes want to stay put for the mean time so they don't cause any attention from the villains."
"That's true..." you agreed, "Sorry for asking I should have thought twice about it."
"Don't worry I know you meant well."
"Talking about pro heroes," another colleague of yours spoke leaning forward to look at you. "How was your wedding?! We've been dying to know."
Your cheeks turned red. "Aโ€•Akane, it went well I don't really know what else to say."
"Don't even try I've been asking the same thing since she came back." Mio added.
"Ladies, I'm sure she has a reason to not want to talk about it." The principle said.
"She's right, it's something private. (Name) will talk when she wants to." Your friend said as he looked at you. "Her husband will show and present himself to all of us, when he's ready of course."
"Thank you, Hizashi." You softly smiled his way, he gave you a smile in return.
"I think she's right, though." he said looking at everyone, "Maybe we can get a hero to come by and show up at the event. Even during these hard times our students need some cheering up as well."
"Yeah but who?" Mio questioned leaning against you.
"What about Best Jeanist?" Hizashi asked.
"My students love him." You smiled remembering how they liked drawing him each time during their free time.
"I know." His eyes lit up, "I saw all those drawings you have of him on the wall. He seems to be like the most popular hero."
"Yeah." You chuckled, "All of them are fascinated with him after he came back. They asked me if I ever met Best Jeanist but I told them no."
Your phone started to ring, you looked down at the caller ID and saw it was Keigo.
"Sorry, excuse me." You sheepishly smiled getting up from your seat and walking out of the staff room.
"Hey is everything alright?" Keigo asked as he stopped at the top of a building.
"Yโ€•yeah! Why do you ask?"
"I got home and saw the lights were still turned off. I thought you'd be there by now since school ends at two."
"A meeting came up all of a sudden after school, I was only aware of it until I was almost out the door." You explained, "I didn't think it'd run this late."
"Do you want me to come get you? I shouldn't be too far away from your schoolโ€•"
"No, it's okay." you said, "Plus I wouldn't want to put you in a risky spot in case if someone saw you close by the school.
"I can still meet you halfway at least."
"Keigo, it's okay." You reassured him. "I've gone home alone plenty of times before. I'm sure if I take a taxi nothing bad is going to happen."
"But (name)."
"I'm going to be just fine, stop worrying too much."
A warm feeling rose inside of you knowing he was concerned about your safety. All this time you thought it'd be the type of traditional marriage where you two wouldn't talk unless it was necessary but he was proving you wrong, and you were really liking it.
"(name)!" Hizashi called out to you, "The principle said we'd continue tomorrow with the meeting, it's already getting late."
You nodded at his direction, "Okay, thank you for letting me know."
"I can walk you home if you'd like." He suggested.
Before you could answer him, your husband quickly grabbed your attention with his question.
"Who's that?" Keigo questioned feeling a tad bit of jealousy.
"He's a friend." you answered and gave a sign to Hizashi to give you a minute. "I've known him for a while now."
"And you're going to accept his offer?"
"He lives in a few blocks away from usโ€•"
"You're not answering my question... are you going to walk home with him?"
You bit your lip as you couldn't help but ask. "Does it... does it bother you?..."
Keigo's lips parted getting ready to reject that ridiculous idea when he realized that it did in fact bother him.
"No, it's fine." He faintly smiled, "If you trust him then there's no reason for me to worry about it."
"Are you sureโ€•"
"Yeah I'll see you back at home okay?"
"Wait I thought... you were at home already." you asked.
"I was but I left something at the office." he explained, "I shouldn't take too long, I'll meet you there."
"Oh, alright. Be careful then okay?"
"Yeah.. you too."
It gave you a mixed feeling with the way he hung up on you. There was no way he had even felt any emotion of jealousy, you two got married on a deal after all. Why would it bother him if you went home with a friend? Or was it because you shot his offer down and heard when Hizashi asked you?
"(name)?"
"Huh?" you turned around to see him standing in front of you. "Hey... sorry I spaced out. Did you say something?"
"Is everything alright?" He asked handing you your bag.
"Yโ€•yeah I was on the phone with my husband." you responded. "He was asking me if I was okay since I usually go home early after work."
"He was worried that's understandable." Hizashi said walking towards the exit beside him. "If I had a wonderful wife like you hell I'd be worried."
Chuckling your face flushed, "I'm sure your future wife will be even better than me."
Looking down at you he added, "I don't know it's hard nowadays to even find the perfect someone."
"Who knows maybe when you least expect it you will end up finding her."
A small smile formed on his lips, "Maybe I already did."
Hizashi has always admired you for how passionate you are for helping your students. You enjoyed your work and there was nothing you wouldn't do for them. Although you could find another job somewhere else with better pay you stayed. And he's seen his fair share of people leaving, except you.
Friends, was the word he used to describe the relationship between you two. Although there are times where he wished there was a smidge of hope that it would change. Now that you're married he realized you two might be better off how you are now, still there was hope inside of him.
"How's your husband if you don't mind me asking?" He asked as you walked passed a stand of your (favorite food) food.
"He's... kind." You answered earning a chuckle from him. "What?" You asked looking up at him.
"Youโ€• I was surprised by your choice of word is all. I thought maybe you would say amazing orโ€•or handsome."
"Rโ€•right well he โ€•he is!" you exclaimed feeling nervous as you tried to sound convincing. "He's the best of the best! Also a good person and if he wasn't people wouldn't like him."
"But that's what they think right?" Hizashi questioned not fully believing you. "I want to know what you, think of him."
"What I think of... him?" you asked looking straight ahead of you already forgetting the food stand that had caught your attention.
"I mean you decided to marry him, only four months into your relationship." He pointed out, "Knowing you if you did not trust or had feelings for him you would not have said yes to his proposal."
It was actually more complicated than that. This marriage was a deal, to help out your parents during their hard time. In exchange you had offered yourself while their situation was being handled by Keigo in secret.
You didn't think he'd accept it and say no but to your surprise he did agree. At first you were weary about him, whether you could fully trust him. Slowly but surely you two began to talk and you started to ease yourself when being next to him. Yet there was stuff you did not know about him like he did not know about you.
"I'm still learning stuff about him, that you are right about." You crossed your arms in front of your chest, feeling the night getting colder. "I got married knowing some stuff about him, heck I sometimes get worried that it might not work."
"And you are still willing to try and make things work huh?"
"Yeah..." you continued smiling small. "I decided to do this because I wanted to. I want to know what it's like to share your life with someone else other than your family or people you personally know."
"You're something else you know." Hizashi said smiling up towards the sky.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean," he looked down at you with the warmest smile. "He's lucky to have you and I hope however this marriage goes it doesn't change you."
"I wouldn't ever think about changing."
After parting ways from your long time friend you made your way towards your home. The building shined bright in all the lights that were used by strangers to finish or start their day. People passed by the building along with cars on the side of the street.
Taking your key out you unlocked the door and greeted the receptionist at the front desk with a quick hello and picked up any mail that was left for you during the day.
When the elevator stopped at your floor, you put in the key once again to unlock it. As you stepped inside you noticed the lights were turned on in the kitchen while the rest was surrounded by darkness.
"Keigo?..." you called out approaching the kitchen. "Are you home?"
When you got to the living room you placed your bag and key along with the mail down on the table and chair. Slowly you walked over to the kitchen but there was no one there.
You sigh turning around to walk out and turn off the light when you saw a plate of food covered in a transparent plastic wrap on the table. Walking over to it you saw a small note next to it.
I realized you weren't going to come home soon so I made some food! I hope you like it, see you later at home, (name).
"Keigo..." you mumbled unwrapping the plate of food.
Your vision started to become blurry, you wiped away the tears that were starting to form. It wasn't the plate of food that was getting you so worked up, your parents did it so many times for you in the past. It was the fact that he decided to be thoughtful about your well being and making sure you ate something.
As emotional as you were, being thoughtful was one of the things that you appreciated so much from someone. Keigo could have just stayed quiet about eating but instead he made sure to leave some food for you too. He may still be a stranger in some ways but he had a good heart that was obvious.
The clock currently read 10:37 PM. Keigo could feel his muscles getting sore from the fight between three villains that made themselves know near his agency. They weren't too tough to handle but one of them had a strength quirk.
His feet were basically dragging him at this point to get to bed and sleep, but he knew he had to at least shower. As he entered his home his mind went to you, wondering if you were already asleep.
Walking towards the living room to get to his room, he saw you curled up on the edge of the brown couch asleep. His hand reached out to wake you up but stopped himself from doing so. He's never seen someone sleep so peacefully in his life before.
Yet there you were, sleeping away without a worry. Even then his eyes couldn't stop looking at you. The light coming in through the large window made its way to your figure, making you shine brighter than you already did.
He could have said no the moment you made the offer but he took it instead. If anyone else knew about his reason they would have described him as being selfish. For someone who has been through hell, he thought it would make his life a little less stressful by having someone around, someone to come home to.
Would you think about him the same way if you ever found out?
"Keigo?..." you mumbled half asleep. "You're back..."
"Hey, sorry I came home so late." he softly spoke crouching down in front of you as you sat up. "Did you fall asleep waiting for me?"
"Mhm," you rubbed your eyes trying to wake yourself up. "Iโ€•I wanted to wait for you... tell you the food was delicious."
"Really?" he breathed out in relief. "Now I can sleep soundly knowing you enjoyed it."
You chuckled quietly, "I'm glad to ease your worries."
Without thinking he tucked a loose strand of hair behind your ear, "We should get you to bed, it's already late."
"Yeah... yโ€•you need to rest as well."
Keigo stood back up straight, extending his hand out to you. Accepting his hand you got up from the couch, holding onto his hand tightly.
He couldn't help but look down at you as you both walked towards your individual rooms. There was just something adorable about you when you were sleepy.
Your body suddenly leaned in towards him making him blush. You closed your eyes, smiling as you felt his body heat radiating through his coat onto you.
"Keigo?..."
"Hm?"
"Welcome, home."
His gaze softened, feeling his muscles relax and forgetting about his flustered face. Those two simple words made him feel like he was safe, despite all the chaos that occurred.
He smiled with closed eyes, "I'm home."

"You look beautiful, honey." your dad said smiling down at you with tears in his eyes not believing his only daughter had gotten married.
"Thank you, dad." you said holding onto both his hands tightly.
"We are going to miss you so much." he held the side of your face, "Please remember to call us everyday, okay? Don't forget to come and visit."
A faint smile rested on your lips nodding at his reminders. "I promise... I'm sure I will have plenty enough time to stay in touch."
"Sweetie," your mom spoke walking up behind you and rested her hand on your shoulder. "Your husband is waiting for you."
"Right," your mom stood next to your dad, looking both at them you did your best to smile making sure they didn't leave feeling worried about their daughter. "I should get going then I do not want to make him wait any longer."
"You're going to be just fine, okay?" she smiled teary eyed.
You nodded, "I know, mom."
"I promise to take care of her." Keigo said as he walked up from behind you and wrapped his arm around your waist. "I won't let anything happen to her, Mr. and Mrs. (last name)."
"We know, Keigo." your dad said, "I know our daughter will be happy by your side."
"I will." you said, "I'm..." you breathed out chuckling trying to stop yourself from crying. "Going to miss you both."
"We'll visit every time we can." Keigo assured you, rubbing the side of your waist in a comforting motion. "I can always drop you off whenever you'd like to see them."
"I'd like that."
"Well, off you go now!" Your dad said, ushering you two out of the reception hall. "I know you two would like to be alone now, we won't hold you back anymore."
"I hope you two enjoy your time together." Your mom said sadly smiling as she watched you two getting into the private limo.
Looking both at them you waved goodbye and send them an air kiss before getting inside. Keigo spoke to them for a few seconds and soon joined you inside as well.
"Off to your house, I assume sir?" the driver asked looking at him from the rear view mirror.
"That's right, Kenji." he responded and turned to you as Kenji began to drive away. "I told your parents to help me pack some of your belongings, they should be there at my house already. If there's anything you might be missing I can send someone to go get them for you."
"Oh okay, thank you." you said looking down at your lap shyly, realizing the minimal space you had. "I should be fine since my parents know me... but I will let you know in case."
"Listen..." he gently placed his hand on top of your own, which caused you to blush. "I know we barely know each other, and I'm sure you did not plan on marrying someone like me." a chuckle escaped his lips, earning a sly smile from you. "But I will try my best to make you feel comfortable."
"I agreed to this whole thing as well," you said. "I'll be honest you are right about picturing myself and marrying someone quirkless like myself butโ€• you shouldn't feel bad... I had the choice to say no too."
"Yeah, I know... and for that same reason when we're in public we have to make sure we do not know each other."
Your lips parted to speak but he held his hand up.
"Let me explain, because of what I do there are sometimes villains after me. I manage to catch them in time but being part of this life is unpredictable." he continued, "I made a promise to your parents that I would keep you safe and I will make sure to do that."
"From what I heard... you sometimes work with the hero public safety commission?"
"Yeah..." he mumbled. "I do things for them in exchange of them helping me and my mom out when I was a kid. Meaning... sometimes I have to do things I do not want to do."
"Do theyโ€• are they aware of our marriage?"
Keigo shook his head. "The safety commission would have been against it and I like knowing this isn't something they have under their nose."
"I see... then in public you don't know me and I don't know you?"
"That's right."
Slowly you turned your body to face the front again understanding that this was going to be just like you knew from the start. "Then I guess going out together or doing normal things is out of the question?"
"I'm sorry..."
"We're here sir." Kenji announced.
He got out of the private limo and walked over to your side and opened your door.
"Thank you, Kenji." you said and he gave you a small smile in returned.
Keigo walked over to you and extended his hand out for you to take.
Thanking him you took his hand and got out, he held the end of your dress making sure you did not step on it or tripped.
He bid his driver good night and told you to walk towards the elevators. As the doors opened you stepped inside, following you he did the same and pressed the button to the top floor.
Your eyes wandered over to the array of buttons that were on the wall, you counted at least sixty by the times the doors opened once again.
"Follow me." Keigo said slightly smiling as he still held your dress, walking beside you.
You quickly realized that this was the front door to his penthouse. There was no front door or any other main way to his place to enter which made you worried.
"Um... so can anyone just walk up to the top main penthouse and walk in... here?
"You and I are the only ones who have access to this place with these keys." he explained taking the them out of his pocket with one hand and holding one up to you. "Visitors will have to call ahead or press the button to ask for permission when in the elevator. There are cameras by entrance so you can see who they are without them knowing you are seeing them."
You nodded, trying to understand how it was possible for someone to have so much technology on their side, you took the shiny key that was attached to a red feather keyring.
"Is this... one of your actual feathers?" you asked moving your fingers gently over the soft red feathers.
A tingling sensation could be felt on his mid lower back where the end of his feathers met. Of course he did not say a thing about it and tried to ignore the feeling in his chest.
"I want you to carry that key with you wherever you go." he said, "If something happens to it it'll let me know instantly."
"And you'll come to my rescue?... Wouldn't that blow everything?"
"Don't worry about that." He said and continued to walk again down the long hallway that lead to the large kitchen. "I always make sure the fridge is stocked. Of course now that you'll be living here too you add anything as well or buy what you might need."
"Under my name?"
"Yeah, of course."
Keigo then took you around the rest of the penthouse to show you around, explaining how many rooms there were and what each room had inside. The place itself was very big with the two of you here, you wonder how it'll feel when he leaves for work and it'll be just you here by yourself.
He was very kind, letting a stranger into his home and private life. You two only met about three months ago, did not talk much but knew the basics of each other. Still, if it had been any other pro hero things would be much different. You always wondered why he even agreed to this marriage in the first place.
"I do not want to pressure you when it comes to sleeping in the same room as your husband." He said, but the word sounded so nice coming out of him. "I made sure to get help in decorating a room for you and get stuff you might need as well. Of course you can change anything you want about it too."
Turning the knob on your door, he opened it and led you inside first. It was huge compared to the room you had back at your parents house. The bed was almost triple the size of your old one, not to mention the bathroom was beautiful with a separate tub and shower.
"Keigo..." you said in awe by how much thoughtfulness he put into your room. There was even a huge vase of (favorite flower) sitting on a nightstand next to your bed. "You really... did not have to do this. I would have been fine with a simple roomโ€•"
"None sense." he stepped forward, "You're my wife now... I'm going to be sharing a home with you, the least I can do is help you feel a bit more well... comfortable."
An overwhelming feeling took over you, your body lunged into his arms, hugging him tightly around his neck. You felt grateful for the type of husband you had. People did not know how kind Keigo really was.
"Sโ€•sorry," you quickly pulled away feeling your face turn red.
Keigo chuckled, placing your veil back behind you neatly. "I'll make sure to do stuff like this if it means you welcome me back with a hug everyday then."
He tried teasing you in hopes of distracting you from seeing his wings fluttering in happiness.
You shook your head chuckling, "People should know how much you like to joke too." You bit your lip trying to hide the smile.
"Trust me it'll make me lose my charm too."
His phone then vibrated, he pulled it out to see Endeavor's name on the caller ID.
"Sorry I better take this." He excused himself, closing the door behind him, leaving you alone in the room.
"Endeavor, hey!" He exclaimed walking into the kitchen. "It's quite late for you to be up at these hours."
"I called you to let know I'll be going to kyushu."
"Seriously? Well that is a surprise. I wasn't told about you coming to visit me."
"I kept in touch with your agency but they kept saying they haven't been able to contact you." Endeavor said, "Where have you been for the last three months? I'm surprised you even picked up my call."
"Yeah I know." Keigo walked into his home office and closed the door behind him. "I've been busy working on other things, you know life of crime never stops."
Endeavor did not know whether to believe what he was saying or not. After all he had been under orders of the heroe commission safety to infiltrate the league of villains. Even so, he knew he could trust him and hopes that he will do so as well.
"I did hear there has been a rise in crimes lately." He played along, "I'll be there by tomorrow morning at your house to discuss somethings."
"No it'll be best if we meet at my agency, it's closer anyways from the train station."
"Very well then."
After hanging up, he breathed out in relief.
"Is everything okay?"
Turning around he saw you standing there dressed in different clothes. Seeing you wear that oversized sweater made his cheeks turn red.
"Yโ€•yeah!" He smiled resting his hand against the back of his head. "I didn't talk too loud did I?"
"Oh nโ€•no not at all!" you exclaimed with your hands shaking no along with your head. "The call took quite long... I got kinda worried."
You were really making it hard for him not to fall for you.
"Sorry about that, are you hungry?" he asked.
"A bit yeah..." you sheepishly answered, "Are you?"
"Starving actually, I have a place in mind. Is it alright if we order in?"
"Sure!"
Getting married young was never in his plans, still sitting down and eating a meal for once not alone, made him see how much he'll enjoy having someone around.

A desire that was not meant to be.
Tumblr media
Pairing: Reiner Braun x F!Reader, Slight Jean Kirstein x F! Reader
Plot: You had put off your meeting due to the conflict with Marley but due to circumstances everything ends up erupting all at once.
Warning(s): cursing, yelling, slight violence
A/n: there might be a few mistakes since it's not fully proofread.
It was a quiet night to say the least, there were no titans in sight. The only sound you could hear were beetles and some animals roaming around at night.
A campfire inside the forest would have seem like a good choice to gather with some friends.
Friends.
Nowadays the people you had known for years were disappearing little by little. You did not know who to trust now. Anyone could have ill intentions that might get you tracked and dragged back to Paradis by the jaegerists.
Your lives were on the line and in return you'd get nothing.
The current group that was at each other's throats years ago were now sitting together sharing a meal.
It was a sight you'd never thought you would see again.
Well see Reiner again.
After parting that day during the invasion all you thought was about seeing the love your life. Waiting to kiss him again one day, but of course it turned out differently.
Now having him front of you brought mixed feelings and no reassurance that your love was as strong as it used to be.
Reiner kept glancing your way from time to time.
There were some instances that you'd both look at each other and let your gaze rest until one of you looked away.
His stare did awaken some of those feelings you'd used to get whenever he was around. But with a current situation it was difficult to tell if it was wrong to still feel something for him.
"Reiner Braun," Yelena said bringing your catching your attention. "You're the one who reached Shiganshina's inner gate. Do you know how many Eldians we're devoured by pure titans because of that?"
Reiner looked away feeling the guilt rushing back to him as he recalled the events.
You could tell how regretful he was. The look on his face said it all.
Yelena looked at Annie, "Annie Leonheart. I heard you killed a few more than survey core members on your time. And that's before we get into all innocents you trampled on and to fight your way out of Stohes."
"But let's not forget the brave liberators of Paradis." She added, "There's Armin the level headed one, who seems far too kind to cause that blood bath he did at Marley. How high do you think you can stack those corpses. And don't forget the civilians there were plenty."
Armin looked down at his lap closing his eyes.
"Not to sell the rest of you too short." She continued, making you feel annoyed by her voice already. "Everyone gave a heroic performance in Liberio. Jean most of all, Little Falco here threw himself in front of you to protect the cart but you didn't let that stop you from firing your thunder spear did you?"
You could feel the air change as her words continued on. Pouring venom into the open and getting everyone riled up to cause a scene. You knew her game play very well. She did not care about saving people. Elena never cared about anyone but herself in this whole situation. She easily bent down to Eren to stay in power even if that meant killing her own friend in return.
"You'd thought you all made it out clean until Gabi gunned down Sasha. What a sweetheart that girl was, even I couldn't help but feel sad for her." She said, "And to you she was family, you went through training together, went through hell together. Losing her must have been more painful than I can imagine.*
You rolled your eyes at her fake sympathy.
"This stew is pretty good Hange." Jean spoke smiling slightly at her, "Got enough for seconds?"
"Oh we've got more than enough so don't be shy." Hange grabbed his bowl and began to pour more stew.
Jean leaned back holding the bottle of liquor in one hand while keeping the other flat on the ground.
"I wanna thank you for this Yelena." He said, "You're baiting us out to air our grudges so we can get it out of our systems and get our heads on straight. Right? You'd have someone to vent to yourself if you hadn't blown out all you friends brains out to keep your fantasy alive."
He took another sip before continuing, "Now all you have a head full of cutting remarks and death wish. So this is actually pretty selfless of you."
"What can you expect?" You spoke leaning back against the large tree trunk. "She's all about getting what she wants but when her life is in danger that's all she actually cares about."
You looked at her as she avoided eye contact, "Isn't that right? You're all talk about everyone else's mistakes but you keep yourself shut on your own. I really hope that if you make it this far someone doesn't come along and take you out for not wanting to deal with your crap anymore."
"Now now we need to all be on the same page, (name)." Hange said, "Let's all take a break yeah?"
A sigh escaped from your lips, "How can I when people like her exist? She's a selfish prick."
Yelena lips started to curve up into a smile but stopped herself.
"Right... almost forgot." She said, "I didn't mention another name, he was already dead by the time we met. But I remember you said you were good friends. What was it, Marโ€•co."
Both your and Jean's eyes widened hearing his name.
Everyone's eyes were now on Yelena as well.
"As I recall you told me Annie had something to do with his death didn't you? Did you ever ask her for details?" Jean gasped in surprise. "I bet she'll tell you."
You held your breath waiting to hear an answer, an explanation as to why your close friend had to face death that day.
"I stole his odm gear and left him where titans could get to him." Annie admitted avoiding eye contact, "Marco got eaten because of meโ€•"
Was surprised you was how quickly Reiner spoke.
"Annie was only following orders that I was giving her."
Hate started to fall deep in the pit of your stomach. Jean noticed your change in behavior, he placed his hand on top of yours giving it a gentle squeeze.
Of course it did not go unnoticed by Reiner, seeing how close you two were.
"During the fight in Trost, Marco over heard me and Bertholdt discussing something secret. If we let him go he could have exposed us and we decided we had to silence him." He continued but his explanation only angered you more. "I figured nobody would think twice about a scout getting eaten by a Titan. So I tackled him under a roof and I pinned him down and ordered Annie to strip him off his ODM gear. Then we just left him there... Marco was stranded on that rooftop without a way and a Titan got to him."
Silence rested upon the group, no one could grasp what Reiner had admitted. It was devasting seeing how someone could be so selfish about leaving another human being stranded to die.
"So... did Marco say anything before he was killed?" Jean asked.
"He asked why I wasn't willing to talk to him." Reiner answered.
"I think that question applies to everyone, why we haven't been willing to talk. We all just started fighting and assumed it had to be to the death."
"But we can still change that," Hange added. "We were all ready to kill each other. And now here we are talking it's something right? To think we would all be sitting around a campfire, sharing a meal with people we once called enemies."
"I stood and watched as a Titan devoured Marco and then a switch flipped and I couldn't figure out why it was happening."
Hange gasped.
"I just snapped flew into a rage, hell-bent on avenging Marco. I cut down the titan myselfโ€•"
"We get it Reiner." Jean interrupted him, "You're saying the guilt of carrying out the mission screwed with your head."
"Don't forgive me... I'm truly worthless."
"I said we get it." He spoke louder as his voice trembled with rage.
"I'm sorry."
It was enough to make you and Jean explode. Tears started to fall down your cheeks as you tried to understand why he was covering for her. Why he decided to go along with those orders.
Jean leaped from his place and threw a punch at him, throwing Reiner back and blood to come out of mouth. In a moment Jean was on top of him without a thought, it was all starting to become too much for you.
As they were killing each other you tried to suppress the sobs that wanted to escape. Armin walked over to you, rubbing your back and trying to calm you down.
"Try to breathe, okay?" Armin softly spoke, "Let's try and get your breathing back to normal."
You weakly nodded but it was impossible seeing how Jean was trying to kill the person who you thought was the love of your life.
Armin then left your side as he and Connie tried to get Jean off of Reiner
You stood up along with Hange and Mikasa to see what was going on.
Gabi then stepped in, but she was hurt in the process by Jean's strong hit. Falco kneeled down beside her worried about her health.
"I'm sorry... we came here," She spoke in pain. "To kill everyone in Paradis... we wanted to stage a massacre not prisoners. We thought the world might forgive us the sins of the Eldian Empire. If we wiped you out, they'd recognize us as good Eldians you see and save them from the Eldian devil's. And now my mom and dad and everyone back in Liberio."
"I'm sorry..." Gabbie got her knees trying to beg for forgiveness. "I understand I have no right to ask anything of you but we can't save our families without your help. So please... please don't let out homes get trampled. I'm beging you."
Falco held Gabbie up, looking everyone. "Help us please, we have to stop the rumbling together."
"We're begging you." She said.
We're begging you." He said.
"Let go." Jean said.
Both Connie and Armin let him go and he walked away.
"Jean." You said jogging behind him.
He stopped, turning to look at you, "I'm sorryโ€• right now I need some space."
"I understand." You mumbled.
Jean gave you a small smile and headed into the woods.
Reiner slowly sat up, his eyes landing on you. They were filled with regret and sorrow.
You looked at him, feeling sorry for him for the way that Jean attacked him but not for what he had done.
Slowly you walked up to Reiner, Mikasa stood beside you as Armin and Connie stood aside.
"I used to think we'd see each other again," you said. "I wished for days upon days to see you... to maybe rekindle what we had."
"(name) I'm so sorryโ€•"
"Don't apologize." You said, "I know for hell that you weren't the one who ordered to kill Marco. Were you?"
"I did I swear I didn't meanโ€•"
"Stop lying!" You exclaimed as tears formed in your eyes. "You're covering for Annie, Reiner. She is the one who decided to kill Marco off not you."
Annie stood up, "I shouldn't have done what I did (name). I know I can't take back what I didโ€•"
"No you can't." You clenched your jaw, "You're the reason Marco is dead! My friend died because of your selfish pathetic reasons. Do you realize how it felt to tell his parents how he died?!"
She looked down as her vision started get blurry.
"You don't get to feel sorry for the way you treated him." Sniffling you continued, "Marco was an innocent person who wanted to get to the ranks and serve the king just like you did. He was the kindest person who did not turn away anyone who needed help. He even helped you for crying out loud and thisโ€• this is how you repaid him?!"
"(name) we know what we both did was wrong but you shouldn't take it all out on herโ€•"
"You both disgust me."
Reiner and Annie both stayed quiet.
"To think that I fell in love with you..." you voice cracked, "Iโ€•I wanted to spend the rest of my life next to you after this cruel world was over. But I was s fool."
"No that's not true!" Reiner stood up looking at you with broken eyes. "It was never your fault and I meant everything I told you... everything I felt about you was real (name). You have to believe me."
"How can I, huh?" You took a step forward, looking at him eye to eye. "I can only remember the person you were with me... and every time I look at you it's someone else I'm seeing."
"I'm the same person as I was back then." He desperately spoke, "Iโ€•I haven't changed! I still love you with all my heart (name)."
"I can't believe you..."
"(name) please," he begged holding both your upper arms in his hands. "I love you (name), I can't loose you... Iโ€•I don't want to loose you."
"Let me go, Reiner..." You quietly said as you cried.
"Please don't walk away from usโ€•"
"Reiner."
"(Name) please..." He rested his forehead against yours trying to remember your warmth, your touch that he had craved to feel all these years.
"Rโ€•Reiner... please let me go." You let the tears fall, seeing them land on his arms.
"I love you so much..."
"Reiner let her go." Armin spoke.
"I'm not going to let the person I love walk away from me."
"Reiner... you already messed up." Connie said, "Let her go and let this end while she's giving you the chance to do so."
"Reiner, please listen... I don't want you to get hurt." Gabbie pleaded as she pulled on his shirt.
Tears were already rolling down his cheeks as he pulled himself away from you.
You were already missing his warmth. But you knew you couldn't forgive him, not for the way he acted.
"(name) don't blame him for my actions... he doesn't deserve the hate I do." Annie looked at you. "Reiner cares about youโ€•"
"Then you should have thought about that before you did what you did." You said full of hatred, "If it was for me I wouldn't dare help you rescue your father for the crap that you pulled. You killed innocent people, for no reason! I don't even begin to understand why you should be alive instead of my family."
"I know..."
"But I'm not heartless," you explained wiping away your tears. "I wished that I was but unfortunately I'm not. There's innocent people on both sides that shouldn't suffer because of us. They deserve to live no matter what."
"I knew you'd end up doing the right thing." Yelena spoke, "It's what you do."
"Shut up, Yelena." You glared at her, "If it weren't for needing you, I would have left your ass behind to rot in hell. You don't deserve to be here. You're the least person to suggest anything with the ill intentions you have."
"All I did was help like Jean had said." She in innocently said.
"Oh please deep down you enjoy seeing this going down. You don't care about who gets in a fight, all you want is to tear people apart. That's your game, it's what you enjoy because you have nothing else in your pathetic life."
Looking at them one by one you saw what they all all had in common.
"Once we're done with this... I don't want to ever see your faces again." You said looking specifically at Yelena, Annie and Reiner.
You walked away from the group feeling like the air was being sucked out of you. It was getting heavier by the minute as you walked further into the forest.
Once you managed to get far enough away from them you let it all out. Sob after sob escaped from the heaviness of your chest, every emotion that was pent up was coming out.
All you could feel was a giant hole within you.
You had already lost your friends in the past, you'd thought that Reiner would be the one constant person in your life. But you were wrong and it hurt you so much seeing him for what he truly was.
Slowly you slid down against a tree with tightly closed eyes as the feeling of emptiness surrounded you. You wanted to run back into his arms, to have you hold you. Console you, in hopes of that pain going away.
But all you could do was hold yourself and try to get through the pain alone.
A pair of arms wrapped themselves around you, smelling the all too familiar scent.
"I'm sorry for leaving you alone to deal with him." Jean said pulling you into his chest.
"Iโ€•It's alright... you needed time." You mumbled into his chest.
"What a hell of a life we live huh?" He asked. "I wonder if Marco is waiting to scold us for the way we are."
"I miss him."
"I miss him too but we can't let him down... as much as we're in pain right now Marco wouldn't want us to do this to ourselves."
"I'm sure he would understand," you smiled weakly.
He chuckled lightly, "Knowing him he would drag us out of bed no matter how bad it would be."
"Yeah..."
"You deserve better... Reiner was privileged to have known you." He rubbed your back gently. "You're a badass who will get back on her feet I just know you will."
Your grip on him tighten.
Reiner was out of your life.
He chose what he wanted and now you had to do the same.
That's all you could do.
