Summary: The workday has ended for La Squadra Esecuzione, and you have a date waiting for you at the bar. However, Formaggio’s dead set on changing your mind and going out with him instead. This forces you to make a compromise.

You thought you were going to leave the safehouse without much hassle.

Today’s mission had been carried out with great success, so most of the team had already taken their leave.

A few of them had stayed behind for their own reasons, including you. You were staying behind just to help the capo finish up some paperwork, but you had no intention of staying for much longer than that, as you had somewhere to be very soon.

After wishing the capo a good night, you made your way towards the front door, passing by the safehouse’s couch on the way there.

You thought you were going to get out of there so easily.

That was until you heard a familiar voice coming from the couch.

“Hey, baby. Going somewhere?”

You turned your head in the direction of the voice, and your eyes are met with quite the sight.

Sprawled on the couch with his arms stretched out and his legs wide open was Formaggio, your assigned partner for the week.

The way he sat on the couch was very typical for him, but something felt different about him.

Maybe it was because he had taken off his leather jacket for a rare moment, or maybe it was how his voice sounded more like a purr. Perhaps it was the way he looked at you. His eyes were lidded like they usually were, but something in his gaze felt more predatory.

Hungry, even.

Shaking off the intense feeling, you smiled at him.

“Hey Formaggio,” you responded. “Yeah, I was just about to head out. I got to meet up with someone.”

He cocked an eyebrow at you.

“Oh really?” he hummed. “How come you never mentioned you were dating someone?”

“We’re not really dating each other; it’s more like a friend thing.”

He leaned forward, resting his forearms against his thighs and clasping his hands together.

“Ah, so you’re saying I still have a chance?”

You could already tell where this was going. Formaggio was a flirt but had been very much so towards you for the past few weeks. It was only a matter of time until he made his move.

Not that you didn’t want him to.

“Maybe you do,” you teased before turning your voice back to serious. “But not right now, I really do need to go.”

If you hadn’t gotten his hopes up, you might’ve been able to leave sooner. Unfortunately, it was far too late for you to take anything back.

At least, that’s how it was in his mind as he stood up to approach you.

“Aw, really?” he groaned playfully. “And give him a chance to steal you away forever?”

You were starting to lose focus, as Formaggio’s move to stand up caused a rippling of muscles along his body. If you didn’t know any better, you would’ve thought this was unintentional.

But this was Formaggio, and it was no surprise that he noticed you staring, which made him chuckle.

“Well, it can’t be helped. You haven’t gotten a chance to experience me.”

As he got closer, you took a few instinctive steps backward. To your chagrin, this attempt was met by your back getting pressed against the wall. Immediately, he took this opportunity to trap you between his arms, hands against the wall.

You could have very easily slipped under his arms and made your way to the door. After all, you knew he had standards when it came to his teammates.

But you honestly didn’t want to.

He leaned in closer to you until your faces were mere inches away from each other. You flinched a little as you felt his hot breath graze your cheeks.

“Give me a chance, won’t you?” he purred.

Quite the dilemma you found yourself in.

BRUNO BUCCIARATI!

This mob leader thinks you're gorgeous, and when you're alone together is when he won't hold back on complimenting you.

(Interesting tidbit in regards to the astrological signs and this matchup: “Aquarius and Libra admire each other; they are both rebels, they get along, and they are more powerful together.”)

As a mob leader, he has to be a pretty reserved man himself, so he completely understands that part of you. However, as someone who can easily read people, low self-esteem is something he has trouble wrapping his head around. The minute you express that is the minute he will drop what he's doing just to let you know that you're loved and are someone who deserves praise.

Being wise about the people you keep close to you is another thing Bruno understands and respects due to his position. That doesn't mean he's not going to attempt to get closer to you, though, because he sees that as something worth a shot.

It's best to wait to flirt with him when he's not working, because, as much as he adores the flirting and the more "dirty" kind of talk, he needs to focus on work. Though, expect him not to hold back when it's just the two of you.

In fact, he's actually impressed that you would express yourself so honestly, no matter how painful the truth is. Long story short, he's curious to see more of this.

He’s very compassionate towards your need to recharge. Tell him what he needs to do to make sure you get that time, and he will do it. He just wants to make sure you’re in a good headspace.

After living through so much chaos and working under Passione, having someone in his life who's organized and punctual is a nice change of pace.

(Honestly, if he wasn't so worried about keeping you safe from the world of organized crime, he'd probably ask you to help him with Passione-related paperwork)

He's not a movie person, but he would be down to watch a movie with you, all cuddled up on the couch and watching all the twists and turns of a good horror film. Books, on the other hand, are another story. He's got quite a few reading recommendations, and he's open to whatever book you suggest.

While you two are together, it would be a great time to introduce him to the Neighbourhood. He’ll probably end up taking a quick liking towards it

Between you and me, I’ve always been a little nervous about writing for Joseph. He’s one of my favorite JoJos, and to do the character justice is something I’d love to achieve in my stories. So I’m really glad to hear that you really enjoy my take on him!

I’d also be really glad to give you a few tips on how to write this boy!

This goes for anyone else who might see this; if there’s anything I can help you with, whether it’d be a character or writing in general, I’m always happy to help to the best of my ability!

(Fair Warning: This explanation might not make too much sense. Let’s just say that I ended up staying up too late, but I got suddenly inspired by seeing this ask.)

CHARACTER TIPS: JOSEPH JOESTAR

What do you think of when you hear the name “Joseph Joestar”?

You might be thinking of a guy who never takes things all that seriously and is proud of who he is. You might be thinking that, essentially, he's the kind of guy who'd probably be a football star, popular with all the ladies in high school.

And you'd be right to think that way about him!

Joseph is definitely a character who finds fun in a lot of things, and he doesn't like to put in more effort than what he thinks he needs to. On top of that, he's not always the best when it comes to his words.

(I’m referring to Episode 11 of the anime, with that one woman Straizo had taken hostage.)

However, for me, there's one thing I remember distinctly about Joseph and that relates to his battles, both in “Battle Tendency” and “Stardust Crusaders”.

You notice how he shows this shadow of a different character when he's fighting? One who seems a little more serious and acts far more clever? That's where his situational intelligence takes the reins. Suddenly, there's that feeling that he's ultimately in control of the situation. Even when there are multiple curveballs being thrown at him, he always finds a way around it.

Just like his famous “You’re next line is...” quote would imply, he's usually one step ahead of everyone.

To summarize, when you're writing Joseph, I encourage you to write him as that loveable goofball we all remember him as, but I would also encourage you to remember where his character is capable of when the story calls him to put in the effort. Remember the battles he partakes in, and remember that shadow of that other more serious character that tends to show up when it needs to.

(Also, side note, don’t be afraid to use the “Your next line is” quote every now and again in stories, especially before a lot of activity takes place. I personally loved using that during the “Hamon Meditation” story just to give the story that extra “JoJo” flavor. That might just be a “me” thing, tho.)

JOSEPH JOESTAR!

This hunk is in love with your goofiness and energy! Someone who can keep up with his own energy is bad-ass in his book.

Him keeping up with your train of thought might be a little difficult at first, but he'll quickly adapt to where you're going with things. This is the man who can predict someone's next line, after all

Luckily for you, there's never a dull moment when he's around. He can be a pretty active person and is ready for adventure in a moment's notice.

He's more street smart than book smart, but that doesn't mean he doesn't admire your intelligence. If you mention to him any particular topic of interest, he will remember that. Then he'll randomly quiz you from time to time just to keep you on your toes.
