Teach boys about periods

My mother also talked about periods to my brothers.

When I first got mine I had terrible cramps. Crippling cramps. I once was camping with my family and a few of my big brother’s friends when my period came. My cramps were so bad that my mom gave me a full pain killer ( I was 13 and before that she only gave me pills cut in half).

I literally laid down on my parents’ air mattress and cried in pain for an hour before the pill kicked in.

My brothers friend came in to the big tent and I was just curled up and sobbing. Now, I was quite the tomboy and was known to rough house with my brothers and their friends and made sure I wasnt seen as just “a little girl.” So my brother’s friend was confused to see me openly weeping in the fetal position (seriously, these were the worst cramps I have had in my life. My vision went white). He asked what was wrong with me.

My big brother stood up immediately and suggested a nice long hike. During this hike I am sure he had a pretty awkward conversation with his friend explaining menstrual cramps, because when they got back the pain pill had (mostly) kicked in and I was sitting up at a table when my brother’s friend sheepishly asked me if I was feeling better. I said I was better, and he said good.

When we made s'mores that night my brother and his friend kept me well supplied with chocolate.

Making sure sons know as much about periods and menstruation as daughters makes them better brothers, better sons better fathers, and better men. A man that understands a period will not lightly accuse a woman of “being on her period” if the woman is in an argument.

Raise better sons Teach them about normal bodily functions.

Back when I started this blog, when I was still a minor (16), and I knew nothing about feminism except that it was for women’s rights, a very prominent terf took me under her wing and began indoctrinating me. At the time I thought I just had a nice online friend, but now that I’m a bit older, wiser, and more educated, I can see that she was grooming me. Not in a sexual way, but she was grooming me to become a terf and stay away from the inclusive circles that I’m in now.

Please reblog this for the sake of your young/new followers. Before you start following or interacting with a blog, check who it is! Terfs are scary, hateful, and dangerous - mostly to trans women but also to nb people, trans men, and people on the aro/ace spectrum. Please don’t get pulled into their circles.

Hello everyone! For the past week, I've been working on streaming. Mainly on Twitch. Started on YouTube then Twitch, which is where I find out I love using Twitch. And now I'm putting a lot of focus into Twitch since I started a Minecraft series called Calm Survival (basically chill with easy mode regular survival, mainly building and collecting resources). I sometimes also play other Minecraft worlds, mainly to try out modpacks or mods that are recommended to me or I see being used. It's a whole lot of fun for me and gives me something to do while relaxing since I don't like playing games alone. I love chatting live with people, I got my mic working a few days ago for that. And we got a lot of goals here! The biggest goal is getting good enough to defeat the Ender Dragon. But our small goal is making a good big base to call home. I'm live on Fridays and Saturdays between 7 and 8pm EST or when My Calendar says so. I stream on My Twitch for now, I just think it's a lot more interactive with the overlays and chat overlay. And when streams are finished, I upload them right to My Youtube channel for people to watch and catch up (if you miss it or are late to the party). I'll try my best to tell people I'm live. Like right now, I post on Discord the most about when I'm setting up or I might plan a stream, or if I'm streaming at the moment. Twitter I sometimes let people know I'm streaming live just as I start. I might try the same with Tumblr??? Depends, but it would be nice to have more viewers to interact with for the streams. I like asking for ideas; like naming pets or objects. Or color schemes or even block palettes. I do mod my Minecraft to make it interesting, so please check out those mods since they do give better palette choices :D (I'll list my mods on my Twitch about and they are listed on my Youtube videos).

Trying to spice things up with trying out different mods, mainly packs that people have made. It's refreshing and I kinda love the challenge a lot of the mods present together. Especially since a lot of mod descriptions don't tell everything. So it's a learning experience as well. This is helping me get ideas for future series, but also ideas for the Calm Survival series. I'm also trying to boost my confidence in fighting mobs so I can complete the game in Calm Survival. I've never finished minecraft in survival, so this is big goal I'm setting for myself. Hopefully with some time and patience, I'll get there. I'm debating on using modpacks like RLcraft as a streaming series rather than a normal video series. I would rather it be interactive in some way, since it is a learning experience for me and possibly the viewers too. And anyone who knows a mod from the pack well, could give small pointers. Like "run" or "don't hide there", something like that. It has a stronger feeling of "what's going to happen?" because you can't fast forward the video to see the end. I love streaming, but my new setup and place is less than ideal for streaming (I need to find a schedule to not bother the people I live with, and find hours to reduce background noise). I need a good microphone to talk to the stream instead of typing, although I know there are people who enjoy a quiet stream here and there. But, sometimes you need that reaction from a streamer to feel like your playing with them. Which is what I want my streams to have. Tips on mods/modpacks to try, good days/times for streaming, and series ideas are appreciated!

Do not use good days against chronically ill people.

I might be able to mow the lawn (with a lot of effort) one day, but other days I almost pass out if I stand up. Illness and pain fluctuate. I am not using my chronic conditions as an excuse when it's "convenient for me."

Don't tell chronically ill people that their conditions are an excuse. Don't use their good days as an argument against their validity as a disabled person. Don't assume we're cured when we have good days. We don't need to hear it.

Can I just say...

I fucking hate people using NBi or gNB to mean nonbinary. We already told y'all not to use NB to mean nonbinary because Black people coined it first to mean non-Black. So then y'all White queers decided, "Oh, well, that doesn't work for me, so I'm just gonna use a term that's basically the same as NB. Haha, I'm so clever." It's disrespectful as fuck.

Use enby. Use nonbi. Use nonby. Or use enbe, enbee, nonbe, or nonbee. Any-fucking-thing but something that has NB in it!! It's not that hard to respect Black people and their terms. It's really fucking not. Stop stealing everything from us. I'm sick of it, and I'm sick of y'all doing this to us.

Do better by Black people. Do. Fucking. Better.

I'm going to try spending some of my time doing a video series on YouTube. It's going to be about Minecraft survival, but it's going to be quiet and calm. I like the idea and I think it'll be interesting, and this is kinda a personal project. But I hope other people enjoy the videos as much as I will. For I’m trying to understand, if someone identifies as both male and female, sometimes simultaneously and other times individually; but also can have a sense of feeling a gen d er from time to time as well, what do you believe this is considered? Hello, I'd be glad to help as much as I can!

It sounds quite like Genderfluid tbh, which seems that you identify with it already. Genderfluid is an individual experience, it's never going to be exactly like anyone else's experience. And it's a very general term to cover a huge variety of feelings. Because some people will only identify with certain types of genders/alignments during their whole experience. Others go between multiple types, either individually or all at once (like you've described). And there are many microlabels and types of genderfluidity with specific terms. For example; Genderfae, Genderfaun, Genderfaer, Genderselkie, Fluidflux, Blurgender, Alexigender, etc. A really good example of the variations is with Demifluid there are Demifluid Boy, Demifluid Non-binary, Demifluid Girl, and more types of Demifluid.

So there are many genderfluid gender identities out there to research and look it up. And I recommend taking the time and doing your own research as well, just to get an idea of what's out there. Plus, you may learn something new!

I know personally, my genderfluid experience is very similar to what you're explaining. The genders I know for sure I feel during my experience are Bigender, Demigirl, Nonbinary, Agender, and a couple others on occasion. But as someone who identifies with Alexigender, I don't always know what genders I feel at times. So it's hard to really say what kind of genderfluidity that would fit me more because I have such a range of experiences. And I'm still researching and keeping track of my feelings.

So, my top recommendations are; doing research of your own (you never know what you'll find and I typically see people find better results), and keeping track of your alignments/genders during the times you feel it changes. Even if you don't have a term or are completely unsure, make note of that! This can help narrow down your search, hopefully, you'll find the right term - Roxzania 💙
