When I was younger I was exposed to so many narratives pushing the idea that Black is UGLY and that I WAS TOO. 😪💔⛓️🤦🏾‍♀️ (My 'IMAGE' POEM, on my profile and YouTube, goes deeper into my experience).

Fortunately, I was blessed with phenomenal, healthy and inspirational role models that revealed and embraced the BEAUTY of BLACK IDENTITY and helped me to LOVE the me God created! 🥰🌟

Felt like I hadn't done this in a while...

🎙️Spoken word on an actual physical stage in front of new people (i.e. not ZOOM and requested RECORDINGS - although I've still enjoyed and been blessed to do that too 🙌🏾).

...and well apart from my local church and sister churches, of course 😄😆😉.

😷 The beginning of 2020 I was sharing all over the place (Enfield, London Bridge, Chelsea, Oxford) and at least once a month and then boom the pandemic hit!

🙇🏾‍♀️🎤 So it was a REFRESHING and HUMBLING time to minister, 'Resuscitation' & 'We'll See Each Other Up There' pieces, early last month at the ONE SONG event in Hounslow.

🙏🏽 One song is a space where creatives and anyone with a story come to share and perform original work. @onesongcreatives.

💜 A massive thank you to the beautiful and talented @Iyino who invited me.

It is always a pleasure to meet creatives and receive too, and there were so many talented folk under one roof. There's such a desire in my heart to see everyone release their God-given gifts to the world. I hope you all do.💜🙏🏽

It was only a few months ago that I was RECITING POETRY as well as singing 🎵God save the Queen🎵 with our church for the Jubilee. That day I had the pleasure of seeing my whole community come together, united, like NEVER BEFORE, especially following a pandemic 😷. One part was written when I was overwhelmed 💔 on a previous Father's Day but God reminded me who HE is to me ❤️.

'As well as being a registered nutritionist, RochelleLoRo's widely recognised talent is spoken word poetry. Since the age of six, she's written over 120 poems about various topics, including faith in Christ Jesus, racial matters and relationships.
